A little insight of Diablo games what I think about them

Diablo: release date January 3rd 1997

I was Playing Diablo in 1998 around a full year after its release date. A brothers friend had showed him the game and they were obsessing over it and so was I once introduced to the most compelling game that I had seen yet.

Diablo II: release date June 28th 2000

Having played the first Diablo for 2 years now beating Diablo many, many times over it was time for the official release and a new obsession to begin. My brother and myself were strategizing before the game came out about classes we would play and fantasizing what the story would be.

Diablo III: release date May 15th 2012

Diablo III felt as if it would never be released. The 12 year gap of a release from Diablo II made it seem as if blizzard had forgotten that anyone wanted a third installment. With that said it was announced and as was tradition now myself and my brother were already discussing our starting classes and what the story may have in store for us.

As the game was announced we had our reservations about the design. But we decided to go full in and worry about the negatives of the game later if there were even any issues.

We beat the game quickly on the second day of release and progressed quickly to hit the cap lvl of the game. Noting that the gameplay and design did not feel as repeat friendly as its predecessors.

Diablo Immortal: release date June 2nd 2022

Oh boy… what a mess. This game was announced for the phone. Yup that’s where we are starting on this one and if you don’t like it oh well.

Diablo Immortal is a mobile game that was announced at blizzcon 2018.

Blizzard knew Diablo players were holding out for the long awaited Diablo IV announcement and this is what they were greeted with instead.

The game was a clear money grab. That was shown through the in-game store. The player has the ability to purchase clear in-game advantages and not just cosmetics.

This was a showing from Blizzard that they are willing to toss away the core fundamentals of a game for pure profit.

A day or so after the announcement there was talk that Diablo IV was supposed to be announced after the reveal of Immortal but the devs scrapped that idea as fans were showing their disappointment for Immortal.

That sounds mostly like they were trying to cover for the large amount of backlash that they had received in such a short amount of time.

So based off of that little block of information about Diablo Immortal I would assume that you know I did not enjoy this game. However I did still try it and wouldn’t you know they even had a terrible PC version.

This brings us to current date Diablo IV and I am currently doing a small write up for the game of its positives and its negatives.

That reminds me. That Guy has been whining lately about not having any games he wants to play (which has been Son's and my problem, of course) and last night he installed Path of Exile on the PS5.

We played PoE on PC when it first came out and I remember thinking PoE is what I had expected DiabloIII to be.

D3 was more like Gauntlet.

We'd played DiabloII together for almost a decade before finally moving on to other things, and D3 did not do it for me at all. I'm sure a part of that was that we were playing co-op on a shared console instead of separately on PC, though.

Playing on a shared console with That Guy is not fun. Like, I can't play our shared Minecraft world with him anymore because they changed how Netherite works, and he's so concerned about me dying and losing the gear I'm wearing that I can't even move without him hounding me about it instead of being happy that I'm doing something with him and spending time with him. Or in D3, he was always dragging me across the screen and getting mad when I'd go slow and explore or get stuck on some decorative item because he ran ahead so far that the camera moved in such a way that there was no way for me to walk around things to catch up anymore.

He was also whining yesterday about how neither Son nor I will play console games with him and it's like, he makes it so unpleasant of an activity that of course we don't...

Diablo II

Diablo II, sequel to the popular game Diablo, is a dark, fantasy-themed action role-playing game in a hack-and-slash or "dungeon roaming" style. After the Stress Test in spring 2000, it was released for both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS in summer 2000 by Blizzard Entertainment. Diablo II was developed by Blizzard North.

By April 2001, Diablo II had become one of the most popular online games of all time.
