Okay I’m fairly new to one piece still. (I just finished Enies Lobby in the anime and I’m half way through the live action)

But I just had a plot bunny that just won’t leave my mind. A devil fruit that can steal dreams.

We all know that Luffy has an unstoppable ambition. He’s going to be the king of the pirates. And his dream and his belief in it is what draws a lot of his crew to him. Not only does he believe in his impossible dream but he believes in theirs.

He knows Zoro will be the world’s greatest swords man. Nami will make a map of the world. Usopp will be a great warrior of the sea. Sanji will find the all blue. Chopper will cure all diseases. Robin will uncover the lost history of the world. Franky’s ship will sail around the world. (Forgive me Brook and Jinbei I haven’t met you yet but I long for you)

But Luffy believes in them. Even when they don’t believe in themselves. Or when others try to stop them or take their dreams Luffy is the first in line to defend them.

So what happens if Luffy loses his ambition. Obviously this wouldn’t happen under normal circumstances. But what happens if there is a devil fruit user that can steal ambitions or dreams. The loftier the dream the more power the user receives. And this user hears of the straw hat crew. This crew of dreamer. Whose captain has the grandest of dreams.

What if he attacks the crew. An out right attack from one man won’t do much against the monsters of the crew. But the user doesn’t need to beat the crew they just need to use their power.

Maybe they’ve watched the crew for a while. They know how protective the crew is. So instead of gunning straight for Luffy they go after one of his friends. And Luffy moves to protect them getting his dream/ambition stolen.

What will the crew do with a Luffy who has no drive. Who doesn’t believe his dream is possible or even real. How do you look at the man who inspired you to chase your outrageous dream, who now doesn’t believe in his own.

And they can’t just talk him into believing again. They have to get his dream back. What won’t the crew do to get Luffy’s dream back.

It puts the crew in such a rough spot. Luffy normally takes out the biggest threat. Not that the others aren’t strong but now they are fighting someone who can steal their dreams/ambition. A person who just got a power up from stealing Luffy’s dream. They’re fighting all the things that make their captain their captain. His dream/ambition/determination/stubbornness.

Imagine the guilt of the strawhat Luffy pushed out of the way. Who is it?

One of the weaker members? He saved Nami’s whole village, freed her from Arlong. He always believes Usopp and after water 7 there’s just so much to their relationship. Copper who he took from a life of loneliness and solitude.

Or is it one of the older members? Robin who owes Luffy everything, the man who made her want to live. Franky? Brook? Jinbei? (I still need to learn more about them)

Or maybe worst Sanji who already has so much guilt from Whole Cake Island (I’m not there but I already know a lot) or Zoro, loyal Zoro who dedicated his own dream to Luffy. Who’s already made so many sacrifices. His own dream is so tightly intertwined with Luffy’s by now what must it be like to see Luffy with out his drive.

Imagine how they would agonize over being the reason Luffy is so despondent.

Because this only works if Luffy has completely given up. No drive what so ever. Like won’t get out of bed, sees no point in fighting back. The opposite of how he has been everywhere else.

I just think it could be a really compelling story if done right.

Luffy

hes the type of guy that has to make noise if it’s “too silent”

thrives in chaos

his eye to hand coordination is on point bc this man doesn’t think before he does ANYTHING

steals things from his crew even

if he sees something he likes he just takes it

he goes into the bathroom, puts boogers on the tissue then leaves

doesn’t even take it off or flush it

the next person who has to use that bathroom is mortified

when nami finds out and holds a whole meeting to find out who did this terrible act of crime

they find out it’s him he just laughs

sweetest person ever

looks up to all the straw hats

so he picks up bad habits from them

and is influenced by them easily

they use him as a tie breaker for stuff

they all bribe him to picking they’re option

usually robin, nami, sanji or zoro wins

robin bc she uses her psychological knowledge

nami bc she offers to buy his doctor stuff (which is rare)

sanji bc they have a close bond and relate to each other

and zoro bc they’re bond too (and bc he scares him sometimes- like that time in water 7)

asks people to help him with his doctor research

everyone was willing until the time usopp had diarrhea

then he could only convince luffy to do it 😭

her stare scares the rest of the straw hats

if it’s not a genuine smile and more like a distant stare that is

shes always observing and watching

theres no hiding secrets from her

she’s knows all

she actually reminds me of a friend i had irl and idk how to feel abt it

One Piece Headcannon: Short S/O

Zoro:

Zoro is one of my favorites. Like almost as much as Ace (like a .01 different) Will definitively just pick your up and carry you around

It’s an extra workout for him

Not that he’s calling you fat, your just good for an extra workout

You are now his new pillow or a living breathing teddy bear

Either way, escape is futile!

You are on his lap all the time

Doesn’t matter where or when that’s your new seat

Know how he carried and dragged Chopper around in Alabasta?

That’s you!

Laughs a little when people think you are his kid or little sister

But the boy knows what it’s like to feel small and weak so he doesn’t tease too much but he can’t help himself from laughing about it sometimes

Koby:

I love this bean so much!

No judging me! To each our own.

Literally thinks you are the cutest thing ever.

Don’t be shocked if the boy hugs you all the time.

He’s a dweeb.

But he’s YOUR dweeb

Will hide you behind if there is a weird noise

Is probably the one of the few OP boys who doesn’t tease his S/O for being short

He knows what it’s like to be made fun of and wants you to feel good about yourself

Likes to rest his chin on your head and hug you from behind to surprise you when you comes back from a long mission.

Not gonna lie, he’s just like his big bro!

But he doesn’t realize he’s teasing you

He thinks he’s being nice

“What’s wrong with carrying you around like a sack of potatoes or calling you pipsqueak?

Will definitely take your food (no shocker there)

Thinks you don’t need as much food because you’re small

You remember when he had Chopper carrying him around?

Don’t be shocked if he tries that

But in the end, he lets you hide behind him and scary situations and promises to protect you no matter what!

His hat on your head is something that occurs a lot like Ace

But Luffy does it more as a symbol of comfort or love than just because it’s cute

He knows it’s cute though

Luffy is about as clueless on cultures as I am

Given that he has never noticed the fact that Kid is very clearly punk, and that Law has had some inclination towards being emo, I doubt he’d notice much unless he happened to stumble upon it himself

If he walks into a room and sees their collection of animal skulls, he’ll probably feel a little confused

“Eh? Would you do the same to Brook?”

Cue a lengthy explanation that no, no killing is involved, and that this is all 100% moral

He’s very easily impressed though, so if they show him a slightly morbid artwork that particularly fascinates them, they’ll have him hooked

If they even go as far to give him a real shark tooth necklace, for example, he’ll cherish it forever (bit of a hoarder of junk, really, so they’re enabling him even more)

Another one who’s pretty oblivious to one’s interests, but this one’s most likely due to his come-what-may attitude towards life (pretentious ass mf /lh)

Zoro doesn’t get put off in the least by what others might find gruesome, though he does jump a little when he sees a bunch of bones on their nightstand

Afterwards he becomes pretty immune to it, and might even have a somewhat morbid fascination with their entire collection

The swordsman absolutely hates the cold, so if they gift him a lovely pelt-turned-coat for the winter he might just feel his heart melt in his chest

It becomes just as precious to him as Wado Ichimonji (after all, we all know how sentimental Zoro is when it comes to receiving gifts), even if he would rather die than admit it

Sanji’s used to the slight morbidity—after all, Robin’s wild imagination made him rather immune to these sorts of things

However, he’s still a little put-off by the whole concept, no matter how hard they try to convince him that there’s no immorality involved in the process of collection; he’s the friendliest crewmember towards animals and still shivers every time he stumbles upon a piece in their collection

He does admire their devotion to the hobby, though, and wouldn’t dare shame them for it (considering that every single Strawhat has an odd quirk or two, himself included)

Other aspects though he’s totally fine with, since he knows that making pelts and jewelry out of animal parts is pretty expected of anyone, let alone someone who likes doing that

So while he avoids their collection of preserved bones in their drawers, he might find himself dearly treasuring a fur jacket or a ring carved out of bones that they’ve gifted him

Usopp would absolutely scare himself silly the first time he stumbles upon the skull on the bookshelf, screaming at the top of his lungs

After having terrified the poor man, they laugh and explain that this is part of a hobby of theirs, and that there isn’t any actual killing involved

There’s no way he’ll ever grow fond of the preserved-skeleton aspect of it, but if they give him a simple bracelet made of smaller bones and prettily painted, he’ll grow to like it

Their best shot at winning him over is to show him a heavily detailed and stunning work of art; only then would he appreciate the time and effort put into it, no matter how terrifying the ideas of decay and death might be to him

He might even secretly hang up one they’ve gifted him on the wall of his workshop, and though it sometimes startles him, he likes to admire it every now and then

The artist in him is ooh’ing and ahh’ing but the scaredy cat in him is literally shaking in his boots

Tough as Franky is, even he gets a little spooked sometimes, so he might jump a little at first, but that’s about it

Another lover of the arts and efforts put into anything handmade, he’ll express his awe at how super well-made the paintings are, and might even ask to look at them

He does enjoy lavish jewelry, so thy initially thought he’d think the ones made of bones and paws wouldn’t be worth much attention, but—to their pleasant surprise—he was fascinated by them and even borrowed them on occasions

Franky sometimes knocks himself out in his workshop, so if they made him a nice rug made out of 100% natural fur, he’d greatly appreciate it whenever he dozes off ontop of it

Given how compassionate he is and how much he values life, he’s glad that the methods used for acquiring all the bones and pelts were completely natural and moral—nothing else matters; he has a penchant for being attracted to people with odd hobbies and interests anyways

As we all know, Brook (ironically enough) scares himself shitless the moment he sees anything even remotely frightening, like zombies and skeletons

After his initial cry of terror, he calms down upon learning that these were obtained through perfectly legal, moral, and natural ways, and were even beautified to look pleasing to the eye

He’ll still be a little jumpy every time he spots a skull or preserved bone, but—much like Franky—he’ll be very happy with receiving them in the form of jewelry; after all, he does like decking himself in extravagant outfits and accessories

Here’s a hint: they should give him a fox-fur scarf to replace the faux boa he already has, so every time he snuggles up to him he could swear he could feel the warmth he’s gone decades without

And though he might not be that well-versed on art, he’ll definitely frame any (slightly disturbing) paintings they give him

Jinbe has seen everything and anything at this point, so nothing surprises him much anymore

He was rather curious himself, and quite pleased to know that there was no bloodshed involved in the process; for someone who’s spent almost his entire life staining his hands with blood he’s fond of the current respite and would rather avoid any more

But he would be grateful if they didn’t have any marine life among their collection—after all, he’s got quite a close connection to all that dwells underwater, and would feel uncomfortable to see them so lifeless and stripped of everything like that

He’s not entirely opposed to a necklace or a bracelet made of tiny bones, though, and if he did receive one as a gift from them, it’s unlikely that he would take them off

With a gentle smile on his face and a fond look in his eyes, he could listen to them talk about their hobby for hours, and absolutely will encourage them to do whatever they like

I’m sorry but Chopper would absolutely get traumatized if he ever spotted a preserved animal skull

Now why would anyone do that to his poor heart

Given that he’s a literal blue-nosed reindeer, any collection of animal bones is an absolute no-no for him; it hits way too close to home (even if he has typical human characteristics)

Morbid artworks might give him a near heart attack when he stumbles upon them for the first time, but he slowly becomes immune to them, and might even grow to like them a bit (kind of like he did with Brook)

It might reassure him a little to remind him that the entire process was ethical and did not involve personally harming any of the animals

Still, he’d rather not receive any skeletal jewelry; the most he’d go so far so as to accept would be a little fur coat, though he has no need for it honestly, given his own warm fur

Second to last after him would be Nami, given how she has an aversion to things that are even the slightest bit odd (it feels a lot like the whole Brook ordeal all over again, only more lifeless and off-putting)

She honestly doesn’t get what they find so fascinating about the hobby; she’d much rather admire the beauty of something more conventionally cute or pretty—still, she doesn’t shame them for it, much as she doesn’t understand them

Though she’s dead-set against going near any skeletons, and still isn’t entirely fond of the bone or paw jewelry, she’ll absolutely fawn over any fur clothes they offer her as a gift, and would go down protecting them with her life

She’s not too nitpicky about the ethics behind the process, but it’s impressive that no morals were compromised to produce them

The art might scare her quite a bit at first and she’ll impulsively scream on first sight, but after her heartbeat slows down once again she’ll be able to be a bit more appreciative of it, even if she’s not a huge fan of morbidity

Now, Miss Nico Robin might just go down on one knee and propose that very instant they find out about their hobby

It’s no secret that she’s a huge fan of all things weird and terrifying under the sun, and to find someone with a similarly odd interest just makes her smile in the most stunning way without even noticing

Any themes of decay being depicted in the paintings they have? She’ll absolutely hang them up right beside her bunk bed, and would spend her days reading while glancing up at the art to admire it

If they happen to give her any crystallized bones or animal parts in a necklace or ring, she will swear to never take it off, and would definitely fall asleep wearing it (truthfully, she feels a little uneasy without it)

She already was very fond of animal furs, and liked decking herself in their various shades, but knowing that no animal was intentionally harmed to obtain the ones they gift her makes her feel especially grateful for the coats and scarves

I’m back for no reason other than I want to share this sort of idea and I am too swamped to even begin writing

Marco doesn’t know how he ended up on the thousand sunny.

That’s a lie, logically he knows. Luffy had come up to him after the battle and asked him. Then perhaps, ask is a strong word… Luffy had catapulted into the region of his arms and twisted around him like a jungle python. Marco is not sure if he actually heard the words ‘join my crew’ as he was rapidly losing consciousness due to asphyxiation.

Then he woke up on the sunny.

God they are so fucking young. Children really, maybe that’s why he hasn’t taken off yet. Put his zoan wings to use.

Luffy scampers around the deck, laughing madly as the cook attempts to punt him in the ocean.

Everyone is so bright in this ship and it crushes his sternum while filling his lungs with air.

“Strange isn’t it.”

The clattering or bones usually indicates brooks approach but, the skeleton can be annoyingly sneaky when he wants to be.

Delicate phalanges press a cup of tea in Marco’s empty hands.

“You remember being that young?”

The blonde man stares into the amber liquid completely lost. He didn’t remember, not really. Flashes of his mother’s sash, ink stained books that seemed so large to his small hands, a foggy memory of a rocky shore.

“I think most of it was lost to time.” He shares with a wry grin.

Brook clicks his tongue? Does he still have that? “Time, time, time, time. If there ever was a god he was the one who hung the clock.” The skeleton hums. “Are you staying for Ace?”

“I don’t know.”

“Did you love him.”

Marco pauses, letting the memories wash over him. The smell of smoke, the raucous laughter. “I didn’t, not yet anyway.”

The sea breeze picks up, heavy with salt.

“I used to play the violin for my husband every day.”

The skeleton is looking at some point beyond the horizon.

“Did he like the violin?”

“Not at all.”

The most important thing Marco has learned while travelling with the straw hats is that none of them (with exception to Jinbe and possibly Brook) have ever had any kind of sane adult to care for them.

Don’t get him wrong, bellemere seems like she was a good lady and lord knows he has visited the floating restaurant a couple times. But for the love of god if finds zoro trying to work out one more time he will have a chat with mihawk.

Honestly he’ll have a good long talk with crocodile too while he’s there, Robin seems to hold herself together with spiderwebs. Not surprising given ohara, but the whole warlords tool thing obviously made it worse.

In two weeks of sailing with the strawhats marco has a goddamn list of people. Including Zeff (marco is very very tired of the nosebleeds.)

Weirdly enough the most stable person is literally a cyborg, then again Tom was a fucking angel on earth and Marco wished he had stuck around longer to write a book on parenting.

Luffy calls him the reserve doctor.

Marco doesn’t call him captain.

“Well obviously.” Luffy had pointed out when Marco had haltingly tried to approach the conversation. “I’m not your dad.”

“But I am sailing under you aren’t I?”

“Yeah.” Brown eyes blinked at him slowly. “But I’m not your dad.”

Marco bites his tongue and wonders how long it would take to explain his very weird existence. Too long he decides and just gives a brief nod. “No, you’re not.”

A long time ago two children played on a rocky shore, laughing as the waves lapped at their ankles.

It’s slow, marco sails, flys. Leaves for weeks on end only to return in the heat of battle. He tracks down Whitey and spends a good week crying into his sisters pillow. Sanji challenges him to a duel for robins hand and he kicks the cook into the ocean. He should really talk to Zeff…. His brothers are here and there, sometimes he looks sometimes he doesn’t. Sometimes he joins Jinbei for meditation. Perhaps it’s more accurate to say that he drinks coffee while the fish man finds inner peace.

He does end up meeting the cross guild (it’s shanks fault.) getting dragged to an “important” meeting by a yonko begging you to pretend to be his husband is.. not as ego boosting as you would think. Shanks flirts and preens and marco doesn’t even know who he’s trying to impress. (He doesn’t want to know.)

Even so.. the small movements, the way mihakw floats beside crocodiles hook. The low murmur as buggy leans into hear what the scarred man said. It makes marco believe that maybe love isn’t a one time thing (except if your shanks)

Oh god this is so long cliff notes time

Marco is kinda immortal he has a rebirth cycle and can semi remember what he has lived through

Sanji gets many seminars on respecti ‘n women

Zoro gets many seminars on “stop fighting when injured”

Luffy is luffy

The phoenix and nika are kind of drawn to eachother (not romantically but they have similar domains or something)

Tom is best dad

Brook is the straight out of jail uncle

Nami and marco are distant (she doesn’t want a dad thank you)

Dr chopper dr law and dr marco hang out

Idk bout romance in here it’s mainly found family (Cora is alive though so ya know..)

The central plot that was not conveyed at all is basically marco wanted this to be his last cycle (with his dad and stuff) but because of everything he missed his chance (idk mystic bullshit yadda yadda) so he has to learn to live again or something

Might have kizaru join the straw hats)

Idk my semi vision was

Marco - the worst mental state

The strawhats - pretty decent mental states

Marco - omfg these children need so much therapy

Ahhh, thank you so much for asking about my newest pirate show babies, TJ!! I definitely don’t mind being put on the spot if it’s for them <3. And I’m also gonna tag the One Piece gang @auxiliarydetective, @oneirataxia-girl, @starcrossedjedis, @supermarine-silvally, and @endless-oc-creations!!

Now, first we have Morvant Bellatrix! She’s a former assassin, basically born and raised to kill (she was orphaned as a baby and the people who took her in were Not Great), and while she was doing this work she was one of the most feared people in the East Blue. This was mostly because of her incredible fighting skills and talent with almost every weapon you could think of, but it was also because she’d eaten a Devil Fruit as a child (the exact name of which is still pending) that granted her the ability to inflict pain on someone just by singing a specific song. Think a very twisted version of Rapunzel’s healing song from Tangled, that’s basically what she can do. Eventually, though, she got tired of killing all the time and decided to do the only thing she could think of to get out of it: she went back and killed the couple who had raised her (turns out they’d trained her a little too well) and eventually went on to become the captain of the Fatale Pirates, an all-female crew of fearsome pirates who sail on the ship Belladonna.

Bellatrix first meets the Straw Hats at Baratie, where her crew just happens to stop for some food at the same time they do, and takes an instant liking to all of them (even if she does persist in calling Zoro Green Bean after he sasses her). She makes a silent promise to protect them, and after their whole fight with Arlong and the other fishmen when Luffy finally gets a bounty placed on him, she does her best to use her terrifying reputation (which even if she isn’t an assassin anymore she still has due to her Devil Fruit power and penchant for ruthlessness in battles with other pirates) to keep bounty hunters and other, crueler pirates off the Straw Hats’ tails. It doesn’t always work, because you can’t ever fully control pirates, but she does her best because damn it, those are her children (that she’s adopted only in her head after exactly five minutes of knowing them).

She’s also a Mihawk ship! The two of them have known each other since Bellatrix’s assassin days, and Mihawk has even been asked by Garp to “neutralize” Bellatrix a time or two (which he’s never done and would never even try to do, because he both respects her too much and is just a tiny bit afraid of her). The two of them have never really officially gotten together or even put a label on their relationship, but they’ve spent a lot of nights together and you don’t have to know very much about either Mihawk or Bellatrix to know that they both have a weakness for the other. (Although if anyone ever tries to hurt Bellatrix in an attempt to get to Mihawk, they will find out just how dangerous she can be on her own.)

And then we have Yami Corvo, my Shanks ship! Like Bellatrix, they also have assassin experience, but they’re currently participating in the art of killing, and one of the most feared killers in all four Blues. They’re also a Devil Fruit eater, and their power includes being able to manipulate their own blood and be able to solidify it into weapons (I’m pretty sure you mentioned you’ve seen Gen V, TJ, so just basically imagine Marie’s powers). Unlike Bellatrix, they were raised as an assassin or fed their Devil Fruit, they ate theirs by accident, but the powers it gave them made them such an outcast and lead even their own parents to believe they were a monster, so eventually they just decided that they might as well give in to what they saw as their “true nature” at that point, running away from their small village and seeking out various other assassins to teach them how to kill, and honing their powers so that it would be even easier for them.

And unlike a lot of other assassins, who might refuse to kill older people or poor people, Corvo has no such moral code; if you can pay the price they charge, they’ll go after anyone you want them too. Killing isn’t even really something they enjoy, but again, they see it as just being what they’re supposed to be, what those around them when they were a child always told them they were: a rabid dog, a monster to be unleashed. At some point, they just stop caring, growing completely numb and almost wishing that one of their targets would fight back and kill them so they could stop… which is probably why they accept money from an angry former pirate captain whose ship was destroyed by Mihawk to kill the dangerous War Lord.

They completely fail, of course, because there’s almost no one who can beat Mihawk in a fight no matter what kind of cool powers you have - but Mihawk, seeing an opportunity to have someone incredibly dangerous and powerful on his side, spares Corvo’s life and offers to bring them along with him on his travels. Originally Corvo is furious that Mihawk didn’t just kill them, but despite how awfully they think of themself they’re still absolutely desperate for companionship and anything at all like a friend, so they accept his offer and the two of them set off together, carrying out Mihawk’s little escapades and occasionally doing the bidding of the Marines - which is how Corvo finally meets Shanks, when Mihawk shows up to show him Luffy’s new wanted poster.

Honestly, they and Shanks are such an amazing and sweet couple; Shanks becomes interested in Corvo roughly five seconds after meeting them, and after realizing how terrible their self-esteem is and how much of a monster they think they are makes it his mission to get to know them and help them see that they really aren’t as bad as they believe themself to be. It takes them a good while to actually get together, because Corvo has to find who they actually are outside of killing and their Devil Fruit power and realize that they aren’t going to wind up killing anyone they dare to care about (and because Mihawk has actually become kind of a protective bestie over them and gives Shank several very intense shovel talks), but they’re amazing once they actually do get together and Luffy pretty much immediately sees Corvo as a stepparent when he and Shanks finally see each other again.

Monster Trio Fluff Headcannons

Luffy

Luffy is the ultimate cuddle buddy

He’ll gum-gum his arms around you several times and then snuggle into your neck

So if you have a hard time falling asleep when the temperature is warm… you’re gonna have to live with it

I think he would like a lot of sweet kisses, but unlike the others (and most people) he can do the Spider-Man kiss— the one where he’s hanging upside down

I can see him stretching his neck to do that (I’m sorry for that image)

He would constantly give you his straw-hat

If he wants your attention he’ll gum-gum himself into your lap and place his hat on your head

And he does not care what you were doing— you are going to have fun with him, Usopp, and Chopper

Afterward, he is so sweet and is such a cuddle bug

Whenever the crew embarks on a new island, he always grabs your hand and drags you out on an adventure (it does get both of you into trouble sometimes)

If you get mad at him, he’ll go to Nami and Robin for advice

If you’re sad: a) He’ll try to make you laugh by making funny faces, and letting you stretch his face or b) you’ll sit on his lap with his straw-hat on, as he rubs your back

Zoro

Zoro is the ultimate nap buddy

He is generally the big spoon, but when you guys are someplace away from prying eyes I can see him being the small spoon and liking it

It just makes him feel so warm, and as if he has nothing to worry about

That being said, I do think that his favorite cuddle position would be the sweetheart’s cradle/half-spoon

That’s the one where he is flat on his back, your head is on his chest, and his arm is wrapped around you

He likes just knowing you’re there. So the pressure on his chest, and the fact he can wake up to see your angelic face is heaven for him

You guys take baths together (not that way— unless), this is because he is musty and the only way to motivate him to wash himself is to get in with him

But it’s really cute when you got his hair all bubbled up, and you boop him on the nose with soap

Of course that leads him to taking a handful of bubbles and slathering it on your face. Cute moment —> now war

He is also very appreciative of when you get him a towel and water after his treating sessions, you’ll get to see a rare smile— although it’s not too rare when he’s with you

If you’re ever mad at him, he’ll snuggle his face into your shoulders and ask for forgiveness (this is only after giving him the silent treatment for days)

When you're sad he’ll press you into his stomach as he rubs your arms from behind

Sanji

Everyone knows that Sanji is the ultimate simp

Do you need something? He already has it on hand

He loves the smell of your hair, so when you guys hug you can see him snuggle into the side of your head to try and catch a whiff (that sounds kinda creepy, but I swear it’s endearing)

He loves laying his head on your lap. He instantly falls asleep when you start stroking his hair. Don’t try moving his hair out of his eye though, he will wake up

He always puts extra love into your food

He’ll use cooking and baking as an excuse to spend time with you. Here you can boop his nose with flour and he’ll boop yours back (not throw flour in your eyes… Zoro)

He is such a romantic, and will do grand gestures to display his love

Him confessing? Yeah on the deck surrounded by candles in the shape of a heart. The gesture was cute, just not the fire hazard

He will get protective over you (he gets jealous easily), and after the “threat” is gone he’ll start cooing about how much he loves you. Sir, where did all that anger come from and go to?

He likes to carry you around. You’re his treasure and he doesn’t want you to lift a single finger… but when it gets annoying tell him to stop. He might look like a kicked puppy, but he’lll go back to normal soon

When you’re mad at him he’ll instantly be on both knees praying for your forgiveness (what can I say, he’s a simp). And if you are still mad at him, he’ll buy lavish gifts, and make all kinds of food to win you over. And if that still doesn’t work he’ll go to you and make you tell him what he can do better

When your sad he resorts to making you food, while listening to you talk about whatever is troubling you

This one is a bit lengthy but can i please get headcanons of the straw hats reaction to an admiral reader(gender neutral please) who quits the marine to join them, and is at first is distrusted but does something to gain theirs trust

I hope it's not too much trouble

It's no trouble at all! I really like this idea, it was a ton of fun to write! I hope you enjoy it ^^

Luffy:

He found you during a fight with the marines

He noticed...you were so much stronger than the marines you were fighting with

Maybe not strong in comparison to Luffy...but he was extremely powerful so comparing to him isn’t fair

He saw you deal what should have been a finishing blow to his crewmates…

But for some reason you never hit them hard enough to kill them

Down them, sure...but never kill

He makes quick work of the other marines, and approaches you with a smile

“Join my crew!”

You looked at him baffled

“Quit the marines and throw away all my hard work to become an admiral because some...kid thinks I would be a good match for his crew? No thanks.”

Luffy left it at that, but knew he’d see you again soon

You encountered him once more at a nearby island

“Is...is that offer still on the table?”

He grinned wide and pulled you by your hand to his ship

He couldn’t put his finger on it...but something was special about you

He just knew the crew would love you

After they get over their initial distrust that is

But Luffy? He trusted you already

No hesitation, he knew you had a good heart and that’s what really mattered

Zoro:

He didn’t trust you...at all

He would go silent when you talked to him, giving you the silent treatment

He didn’t trust the marines...how was he supposed to know you weren’t there as a spy?

You tried to talk to him a couple times...but he just pretended he was sleeping

One day, he was up in the crow’s nest training and you walked in

“Mind if we spar? It’s been a while since I was able to.”

Since you left the marines

He huffed but gave a firm “sure”

He didn’t go easy on you, which surprised him when you handled yourself fairly well

You parried his attacks, and gave a few good jabs of your own

He respected your strength

He still won...but he expected to beat you within seconds

Not minutes, nearly half an hour of sparring

From then on, he’ll make small talk with you

Every once in a while he’ll go to take a nap and he’ll pull you down to lay beside him

He also sits next to you at the dinner table, even helping you fend off Luffy when he tries to steal your food

Overall...he respected strength. And if Luffy chose you...you were here to stay

Once he starts to trust you, he’ll protect you at all costs

Nami:

She trusts Luffy’s decision...but that doesn't mean she has to trust YOU

She won’t go out of her way to be mean...but she won’t help you if it means bending over backwards

She interrogates you, wanting to know why Luffy had chosen you

After days of interrogation on and off...she thinks she sees why

You were unhappy in the marines

Sure...you managed to become an admiral...but the happiness you had hoped to feel just wasn’t there

She discovered that in the short time you’ve been on this ship, you’ve felt happier than you ever did in the marines

She’ll be nicer after that, slowly building up her trust in you

“Want me to show you how I chart the islands we go to?”

Even if cartography wasn’t your thing, you figured it would help get you closer to Nami

After that, you would spend hours upon hours with Nami

She can be very...very protective

So once she trusts you, any comments about you that weren’t warranted she’d defend you

She wants to get closer to you, and spends the majority of her time with you

Either sitting on the deck or working on her maps

She even tells Sanji off if he starts to bother you, making the hearts in his eyes break

She’ll protect you...and she knows in her heart you’d protect her too

Usopp:

He is so...so scared of you at first

You were an ADMIRAL

How could you just give up that position to join a crew?

Doesn’t trust you for a good long while

He’s convinced you’re a spy

He lets his imagination get to him, and that drives a wedge between you two

You don’t blame him...the situation is sketchy, but you were genuine

You would spend all the time needed to get the crew to trust you

After only being with them a short period of time...you trusted them with your life

And that’s never happened before

In the marines...people wouldn’t go out of their way to save another if it meant getting hurt in the process

During battle, you stepped in front of Usopp and took a harsh blow, forming a long slash across your chest

After that...he’s significantly nicer to you

He visits you in the infirmary and looks...troubled

“What’s wrong Usopp?” You give him a concerned look

“Why?”

“Why what?”

“Why did you save me...you’re hurt now. Because of me.”

You smiled at him...so he did care

This was a good first step

Maybe eventually you can become even closer

Sanji:

He’s reluctant to trust you at first, but Luffy seems to see something in you…

Just like he saw something in him

So he tries to get closer to you, even going so far as to not flirt with you

Not until he got to know you better

The first time he really began to see the trust between you building was a regular day

Nothing particularly special about it, except you went into the kitchen while he was cooking

“Mind if I help?” It was your attempt to get closer to him

“Of course! Here, I need this mixed.”

You cooked together in relative silence, small talking every once in a while

Overall it was...nice

It was a bonding experience and he cherished it

That day, he sat next to you at the dinner table

You gave him a wide smile, which he returned

He would defend you to anyone who spoke ill of you after that

He could be quite protective, and it showed

Especially to Zoro, who made comments about your being a spy (which only made Usopp and Chopper panic more about the situation)

“Hey marimo! They don’t deserve the bullshit you’re throwing at them. Back off.”

“What are you gonna do about it, shitty cook?” A smirk formed on Zoro’s face

Oh dear...it looks like they’re fighting again

You went to speak up, but Nami stopped you

“They get like this sometimes. Though it’s impressive how quick Sanji was to take the bait this time...I think he likes you.” She gives you a wink and your face flushes

Who knows what the future will bring...all you know? Is that you made the right choice to join this crew

Chopper:

He wants to trust you...he really does

But the nagging fear of you hurting his crew is at the back of him mind

He avoids you, not wanting to risk getting hurt

Once you get injured in battle...he realizes how unfair it was that he did so

“I’m sorry y/n...you’re hurt. Please follow me to the infirmary.”

He keeps it relatively formal, only talking when he needed to do something to check on you

“Would you...come back in a couple days so I can check on the wound and how it’s healing?”

You gave him a smile “yes doctor! Thank you!”

“Hehe you don’t have to thank me I don’t deserve your thanks I was just doing what I’d do for any of our crew!” He swayed back and forth, his paws on his face as he smiled

You could swear you saw flowers around him…

After that, he invited you to play games with him, Usopp, and Luffy

While Usopp was still reluctant, Luffy was 100% on board

“Come on y/n! Play with us!” Chopper smiled up at you and...well...there’s no way you could say no to his adorable face

So you joined in

It was fun...more fun than you thought possible to have

You laughed as Chopper tagged you, and you spun around picking him up in a hug

“Chopper...thank you.”

He smiled and laughed, “for what? Tagging you?”

You shook your head, putting him down

“No...for being a good friend.”

And he was, he was your best friend. You grew closer to him in the days following and you were certain you made the right decision

Robin:

She knows what it’s like to not be trusted by the crew initially...but at least with her it was one pirate to another

You were a marine

And not just a marine...but an admiral

She is reluctant to trust you, but will give you the benefit of the doubt

She spends a lot of time with you, gauging if you’re a threat to her crew or not

She would sacrifice herself for any one of them...you’re no exception

She almost thinks its her JOB to determine if you’re a threat or not

It wasn’t until your first battle together that she finds she trusts you

You give her a look, and she knows to use her devil’s fruit

You both coordinate perfectly together, and it shows your trust

She has only battled so flawlessly with her crew...which means you’re entirely one of them now

She will defend you from that fight forward, and stands up for you when the others express their doubts

“Y/n? Would you like to read with me?” She pats the spot next to her and smiled at you

“Of course! What are we reading today?”

The two of you grow closer and closer, spending hours upon hours just...enjoying each other’s company

She looks at your smile and knows...she would do anything to keep that happy smile on your face

Franky:

He doesn’t trust you...but he doesn’t...NOT trust you

He’s reluctant to get close, but finds it’s really easy with you

He’s newer to the crew, but he trusts Luffy’s judgement

So he doesn’t have any reason not to give you a chance

He’ll spend time with you, requesting you sit in his workroom as he works on a specialized weapon for you

Over that time, you make a lot of small talk

It brings you closer together

“Y/n! What do you think?” He’ll say holding up your now finished weapon “Pretty super, right? Don’t you just love it?” He has a look of pride on his face that makes you grin

You take the weapon into your hands and feel the weight is perfect

Not light, but not overly heavy either

“Thank you Franky!” You jump up to hug him and miss seeing his face turn a dark crimson

“O-of course! Anything for a crewmate!” He hugs you back, lightly as if he’s afraid he’ll break you

This makes you laugh, “Franky...I was an admiral remember? I won’t break from a hug!”

“Well then...take this!” He lifts you up, spinning you around in circles

You both laugh, pulling each other closer and closer

Once he sets you down you see the fleeting color of pink on his cheeks

You were sure your face mirrored the same color

He knows in that moment he would protect you

Even if you didn’t need it

Maybe...protect isn’t the right word

It sounds so...one sided

“I’ll protect you...will you protect me?” He looks sheepish, almost as if he hated asking

You lean up and kiss his cheek

“I’ll protect you Franky. I’ll protect all of us...this crew...it’s special.”

He nods, knowing exactly what you meant

“Then we’ll protect each other.”

And it was settled

Brook:

As soon as you stepped onto the ship he approached you

“Your name is y/n...correct?”

“Yup! That’s me!”

He leaned down so your…”eyes” were level with each other

“Can I see your panties?”

SLAP

“...is that a no?”

It’s safe to assume...he doesn’t judge you for being an admirable

Though seeing some of the crew be distant from you...it only motivates him to speak to you more

You looked tired after playing with the crew on deck, so he approached you

“Would you like me to play you a song to help you sleep?”

You stared wide eyed, not knowing he was the musician on the ship

“Sure! Would you...maybe be able to teach me how to play an instrument?”

“Which instrument would you like to learn?”

You hummed, “I’m not sure. I’ll get back to you on that.”

And so he played you a song

It put not only you, but Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper to sleep

He would have grinned if he could, and looked over his crewmates with love

As he finished the song he looked at you once again

“Sleep well y/n...I’ll see you tomorrow.”

straw hats reaction to shipmate reader being an ex-cp9 agent after enies lobby

[luffy, usopp, zoro, nami, robin, franky, chopper, sanji]

luffy:

“oh… okay”

would not be too concerned about it it’s almost scary how calm he is about it but asks about what you have done before depending on whether or not it was severe

if he finds out you knew about robin but did nothing about it, he would be grateful. he knew he could trust you

he only ever cares about the present and the future so who you once were before doesn’t matter to him now, you’re a part of his crew now

the most nonchalant person about it

“i don’t care! you’re one of my nakama now!”

usopp:

“EEEEHHH!!?? w-w-wait are you gonna k-kill me??!”

would have the most dramatic reaction, begins to have doubts in trusting you, would likely stay away from you for a while

tries, “tries” to watch you for a while because he was now a bit suspicious of you, and sCARED but he’s not as good about hiding the fact he’s watching you

would relax once he realizes you are no threat to him or the crew, stays on edge until you do things that make him ease up like playing with him, luffy and chopper or doing regular chores or training with zoro, just always out in the open where it seemed like you weren’t being secretive

would instantly apologize

“i really thought you were planning to kill me… (points to self) but NOBODY would kill the great CAPTAIN USOPP!”

zoro:

“i’ve got my eyes on you”

would instantly be wary about you

always watching you even if you know he is, he doesn’t wanna let anything weird get past him after finding out about your past

he watches you even when he naps, he’s got that 6th sense or something

it would take a while to make him convinced that you won’t be any kind of threat to the crew

doesn’t want it to be a situation where he feels as though they are in danger or that he believes he can’t trust you so he’s thorough when he’s got his eyes on you

would ease up if you train with him but still has his guard up

would instantly trust you if you were to put yourself in harms way for another or save someone

“just because we’re truly nakama now, doesn’t mean i’m gonna share my booze with you”

robin:

“oh really?”

would be the one who understands the most

everyone has something to hide and she gets that so she makes sure to check up on you often to see if anything is wrong

she doesn’t think you’re a threat at first but that didn’t mean that she trusted you right away

maybe quality time with the others on the boat would make the way she sees you a bit better

over time she would trust you as much as she does everyone else, grows to like you

spending time with you make her feel like she doesn’t have to worry about

“ y/n-san, would you like some coffee?”

nami:

“w-what do you want?”

another who’s scared of you

didn’t wanna talk to you until she’s informed that you’re no threat

she’s still afraid of you and what you could be up to

that is until you convince her either 1. overtime or 2. money and jewelry

if it’s 1 she’ll be more very nice and apologetic before she treats you like she does everyone else

if it’s 2 then you have her trust instantly. doesn’t take much time if this is done

would like to spend time with you to get her away from the “idiots”

“ you’re okay, just do anything to annoy me and i’ll fine you 100,000 berries.”

chopper:

*hiding from you*

oh man he would be so scared of you

would do his little “peeking” thing where he’s literally out in the open while he’s “hiding” and trying to watch you

of course when you’re hurt he will treat you but he won’t change his mind for anything

unless it’s a compliment or you come to his defense in combat

would gradually grow to like you and be comfortable enough to play with you

would die if you gave him random head pats

he would apologize to you for not trusting you right away

“i’m a good doctor??? don’t think your flattery is getting you anywhere, you bastard 🥰 ~”

sanji:

“you better not mess with the women here.”

he would be more protective of robin and nami more than usual, more annoyingly so

wouldn’t want to do anything with you and would willingly argue with you like he does with zoro

that is until you give your compliments to his cooking, he’s very pleased, especially if you ask for more

since he’s watching the girls almost all the time he’s glad to see that you’re doing no harm to them, also that you don’t steal from the fridge

would definitely grow to give you the same treatment he does for them if you’re a woman, it didn’t take him long to serve robin when she joined

as long as you’re genuine and pose no threat he’s not bothered and welcomes you

“make sure you don’t waste that…. do you want seconds?”

franky:

“hmph.”

wouldn’t interact with you at first, considering he doesn’t like anyone who is or was involved with that organization

just general hello and goodbye but it’s not much until later when he starts to see you’re not doing anything sneaky

would be happy if you complimented his inventions or gave comments on his “suuuuper” personality

opens up more to you if you gave him cola without him asking

would straight up ask you if you’re up to anything and trusts your answer

was indifferent and didn’t care at first but would soon see you as no threat and part of the crew

“you’re rather suuuuuper, y/n-chan!”

“G’Night” you say, struggling to enter the vehicle. “Why the hell did he buy such a big car?” you think while stretching your arm to close the door. Caught in the Hustle

“I can’t believe you put that card down!” Laughing jovially, you sit between two pirate crews: the straw hats and the kid pirates. “Well, anything goes, little lady.” Kid smirks, deftly grabbing another black card.

This originally had been just your average bout of drinking; but Kid had decided that he was bored of the same old same old and decided to propose something much more interesting. A group game of Cards Against Humanity. Originally it was all of the Strawhats, Kid, Killer and Law, but as the night grew longer, more and more have decided to depart for bed. Leaving you, Zoro, Luffy, Kid, Killer and Law.

It now being Kid’s turn, he lays down the new black card everyone else has to use as a prompt. “Why can’t I sleep at night?” Looking over your own hand, you have to consider the response that would earn the most favor. Or… you can go with the filthiest card in your hand and really blow his mind. “Who’s a little lady now, Eustass?” you think to yourself as you lay it in the response pile and wait for him to start reading them out. The others are pretty good: “Genuine human connection”, “Poorly-timed Ohara jokes”, and even “chainsaws for hands”. But then he reaches yours. “Blowing my boyfriend so hard he cries.”

He looks like he’s about to blow a gasket, from rage or embarrassment you don’t know. His face a rosy red, the blood rushing directly to his face. That is until everyone else starts leaving one by one to leave only you and Kid.

Starting to sweat, you try to think of something to say, anything that might defuse the situation, not daring to look Kid in the eyes. You can hear him getting up from his seat and coming closer to you, and your nerves only grow worse. Just as you expect him to start yelling, or to hit you, he puts a hand on your head and ruffles your hair.

“Now, I know you put that card down…I know you’re trying to be tough, but that won’t work here. We both know you just did that to provoke me. And I like it.” Kid licks his lips, a wild smirk emerging onto his face.

You loudly swallow, looking up at him nervously and daring to let a small smile come to your face as well. “Well there can be plenty more where that came from, if you really want…” you offer, trying to sound teasing and playful but definitely not being convincing. “Oh, I think I want that a lot. I want to see just how rotten you can be when you put your mind to it, and I can show you every nasty idea I’ve got in mind too” he croons, running a finger down your cheek and along your neck to your collarbone. You arch your back with a shiver at the feeling, giving a blissful smile.

You run your hand through his hair, gliding it down his shoulders and hips. He gives a grunt of approval, a cocky smile gracing his face. In your mind, you’ve got him eating out of the palm of your hand.

He leans in close to whisper to you in a husky tone. “Maybe I should… get a little more comfortable?” The next thing you know he’s pulled your hands away from his body and in one fluid motion slid his coat off onto the floor. When you bury yourself into his arms and chest, he’d blush a little before remembering that this was serious and lift you up bridal style, closely to him.

Even if you refuse, he still makes something in hopes it’ll cheer you up and offers to listen while he prepares it. When he’s done, it’s in front of you and you find yourself enjoying it with Sanji watching with a warm smile, holding your free hand in his across the table.

— Usopp, this boy would make panic and look to see if you’re hurt then would repeatedly ensure you that a protective strong warrior is there to protect you. After all jokes are made, Usopp turns solemn and is sitting in front of you, cross-legged and gently asking if you’re willing to share, so he can help.

His eyes are glossed with sadness in them and glassy with tears from your mental pain and stress. First, Usopp would make light jokes and lies to help pull you from the dark place and to lighten the mood. But then, he starts to hold your hand and assuring you that nothing was fair and it’ll be hard and stressful and cause lots of pain, but, it WILL subside. It’ll go away sooner than you think and that you will be okay, because Usopp knows what it’s like. He eventually got out and Usopp will be right by yourself to get you out.

“It’s difficult.. you feel like everything’s crashing down on you and you just can’t handle it.. I get it.. but [Name].. you have to believe it’ll get better! I promise it will! And I, God Usopp, will be right there beside you when you do.. I promise.”

3. Marco The Phoenix

— He immediately knows something is wrong when you’re being distant from him so he’d confront you. He’d tell you to meet him on the main deck late at night and when you show up, he’s standing there and kneels down away from you. He’d tell you to get on and before you could react when you did, he’s immediately jumping and now soaring into the sky, flying in circles above the ship with you on his back.

You’re holding onto him tightly and as much as you are scared, you’re actually enjoying it which makes Marco smile before finally questioning you and your distance lately. You’re quiet before you finally admit the truth, Marco listening intently as he flies around calmly. When you tell him about your troubles and anxieties, Marco is calm and he just has the softest smile you’ve ever seen.

“So that’s what it is-yoi..” he would fly for a bit longer before going down gently onto the deck and set you down. Marco isn’t one for hugging, especially not an open area like the deck, but that’s what he does, only for a quick second. He takes your hand in his and gently kissed the back of it. “[Name]-yoi, you should have just came to me..” he leads you to his room and sets you down on the bed and sits beside you, laying you down.

“Feel free to cry, rant or sleep. I won’t judge you, all of us have been through these rough times.. it’s hard-yoi.. but, we’re in this together. So next time, just come to me, okay-yoi?”

2. Donquixote Rosinante / Corazon

— His long limbs and tall body, ROSI IS PERFECT to have by your side when you need comforting. Rosi would take a bit of time to realize something is wrong, especially when he’s gone for so long. The day he is finally coming home, he calls you up like usual and asks how you’re doing.

He would be so happy and cheery that he nearly misses the quiet sniffle and quiet, sad tones in your voice when you talk and it breaks his heart and makes him panic. Obviously when he asks, you tell him it’s because you’ve been feeling lonely, since Corazon has been gone for so long. You just want to be in his arms and feel at ease and safe.

Rosinante’s crushed heart is slowly swelling with warmth and love at your confession and just then, the door opens. “Well, it’s a good thing I’m home then, [Name].”

You would be in such shock that you didn’t notice him standing by the doorway with his arms spread and ready for you to hug, which you quickly do. You’re running to him at full speed and jumping onto his tall body, with his long arms quickly wrapping around your torso tightly and he’d fall onto the ground to sit you on his lap.

Tears are streaming down your cheeks rather quickly and you just grip the fabric of his shirt in your hands and bury your face in his chest.

“I’m sorry for not coming home sooner.. Work took longer than expected..” his smile softens as he closed his eyes and pets your hair, securing you closer. “But no worries, my love. I’ll be with you from now on. I’m not going anywhere, unless it’s with you.”

1. Monkey D. Luffy

— I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Luffy is one of the best captains ever because he OBSERVES. he’s a huge dumbass, strong as fuck dork and just a weird playful kind of guy who cares and would do anything for his family and crew, so underneath all of that is a observing, self-conscious and sweet kind of person that you would die for honestly.

Luffy knows something wrong immediately but can’t exactly pinpoint it, he just knows that you aren’t yourself. But overtime, he realized that you’re dealing with a lot of personal pain and it kind of destroys him. Is he failing as a captain? As a friend? Figuring it was a personal problem, Luffy waits until you’re alone at night and walks up to you.

You see him and greet him until he walks up close and stands there. And then, he raises his arms and hugs you. Tightly. He stretches his arms to double loop them and just stands there with his arms around you in silence.

You’re stunned, about to laugh it off and pull away when his voice reaches your ears.

“[Name]. It’s okay. You can cry. No ones around to judge you. You can let it out now. In front of me.”

Though you were shocked, all the built up stress and pain you’ve been storaging suddenly breaks at those words and you find tears dripping down your cheeks from your eyes. Many falling much faster than the previous ones before you’re sobbing into his shoulder, standing there with Luffy hugging you silently, his hat lowered to cover his eyes.

“Never..never forget that I.. we are here for you, [Name].”
