I just realized something about Belos. (Season 3 Spoilers!)

Belos was shown to have survived being splattered all over a wall, and yet he died from... people kicking his face and some hot water? I mean, sure it must have been painful, but was it pushing him any bit closer to death? Probably not. It IS however, made clear that Belos needs a constant supply of magic to stay alive, which is probably why he kept his consciousness alive in a super tiny fragment, no bigger than a chicken nugget.

That magic supply was cut off from him entirely when Luz separated him from the titan’s heart. Whatever titan’s blood  that wasn’t already flowing inside him had vanished or become inactive, and that blood was

Belos was already 400 years old, and his aging body was catching up to him. I find it likely that Luz knew this, and like Eda, Raine, and King, she wanted to make Belos’s last moments as painful as possible.

Therefore, the truth about Belos’s painful ending is that yes, he was destroyed. Not by Luz, not by Eda or King or Raine or any physical means, but by the hand of his one and only weakness: dying

EDIT: Removed one of the minor points because it was heavily flawed. Also we know that titan blood is likely inactive, if not gone, because Luz can’t do magic in the boiling isles, where the titan blood would be. The gang probably made a new portal door using King’s blood sample from s2e09, I mean they had it the whole time and it’s a stored titan blood sample doesn’t rot (at least not in 400 years)

i am not much of a talker on Tumblr but this has been a really frustrating time for me. i’m a big pjo fan, like i’m 20 now and I’ve been reading the books since i was 8. i’ve read both Percy Jackson series, the Kane chronicles, earlier Magnus books and even a bit of the Trials of Apollo. all this to say i love rick riordan’s works. i didn’t love the casting decision for the disney+ show.

i am not racist. along with being a black person, i have the utmost faith that leah is an amazing actor, and that she will serve her role well. but she is not the annabeth i had imagined. and i am sure that for people who are new to pjo or maybe not that knowledgeable, they will enjoy the disney+ show just as much as if annabeth had been white.

but i was a little black girl once, and i had a smart blonde girl who was underestimated for her intelligence and her strength, and i saw myself in her, and i was really excited to see the girl that i had envisioned on the screen. people say that it’s not important what she actually looks like, but to me it is? this is not the comfort character i grew up with? and maybe no actress could have been, but i am still upset.

unfortunately, some people are racists, and feel comfortable taking out their malcontent on a young black girl. i dont. i have no ill will against a small preteen, but i’m upset.

i would like to be upset without being lumped in with people who bully a young girl. i would like to have my month or so of sulking over once again losing the chance to see the characters i grew up with on the screen, but i don’t want to risk racists agreeing with me.

so!! uh!! this has been a real bad time for me!! and if anyone who sees this is in a similar position i would like to remind you that you’re allowed to be upset, but once again there is no reason to take it out on a young girl who just wants the best for herself.

If I see a single soul shitting on star wars visions I will physically and verbally fight you.

Because every single episode was so beautiful in its own way. With each unique style. Different story. Characters. Everything.

It may not be canon but holy fck. The imagination that these animators had was godly. And for someone that appreciates the work people put into animation, it was beautiful to see this. Just letting people work with star wars and make their own little story.

I loved it. Every episode. I won't hear any arguments because Star Wars Visions is truly a work of art.

Please do elaborate about LL!Scar and Bad by Deluxe Royal, I'm interested 👀

Ohooho. You got it! I uh... went ham,

*claps* OKAY! SO,

It all starts with the sounds.

The theme of this music is almost cartoonish in the way it wants to portay 'big, bad, evil' (chanting in a low chorus like a boogeyman "im bad I'm bad as bad can be." behind the main voice.) It reminds me of "How Bad Can I Be?" Which, ahem, while a meme song fits Scar's happy-go-lucky attitude that he upholds regardless of the guts and gore of the situation.

With a dramatic western attitude, the voice is very confident in his own image. It just screams Scar. Big Bad Scar trying to be spooky in that disney villain way he admires and reflects in his video and performance style. Its natural for him, but hes also careful with his words. He pauses, thinks, stalls for time when he speaks to people because if they get him rambling he'll give it all away. He is very very cautious this season in that sense.

Now, the lyrics! Oo I shiver at how well they fit.

If you'd like, we can imagine this "devil" as Grian. People have consistently seen him as a threat, Scott even dramatically and repeatedly calling him a monster. Hes death itself- the one who started it all.

Or, it can simply be other reds. People that Scar so far seems to be cautious of, but never fully intimidated by.

The last two refer closely to the comparison of the first season to this one. Grian was quite literally his only true ally, and now Grian frequently leaves him behind at any given moment. It's not fully Scar's fault, but Grian does take some care in talking and making deals with Scar. The game has changes course and they're keeping distant tabs on one another. Scar currently drives people away from staying at his mountain, despite claiming he wants friends. And for some reason (could even be dumb luck) Joel the first and possibly most unstable Red Lifer, lives right next to him and hasn't lifted a finger yet. This I'm certainly exaggerating, but I wonder how cautious Joel is of Scar ("I made the devil run.")

These next 2 lines are the only ones that dont fit easily, as Scar is incredibly clumsy lmfAO. However, I think it speaks poetically with 3 and 4.

From Scar and Grians perspective things are very, very light in s1. It does not apply to the others'. In the previous season Scar was terrifying. Ren and others wanted to protect their friends and stay together. Scar wanted to win or put on a show trying. It's why him and Grian make such a good team— they know there are limits to how they can rely on one another.

From the other perspectives all Scar did was talk people out of their resources and scheme to destroy them, regardless of any sort of spoken friendships. He was very, very dangerous. He broke many structural bones so-to-speak in the other teams, including trust and physical resources.

And in the end? It was Scar's little team against Rens whole army that won 3rd Life. ("They were an army, I was alone, I broke so many bones.")

The CHORUS IS MY FAVORITE THO.

Scar this season is lying to everyone around him. People are cautious, but only the very, very perceptive ones (to name a few: Etho and Scott) are actually catching Scar in his lies. Even then he doesn't let up his own act. This gives him such a good facade.

People are going to underestimate him. Hes so polite to some and to others hes burning them at the stake. Other people talking about Scar are going to find plot holes, twists and turns in attitude that just don't make sense. No one will know what to believe or not. His kindness feels genuine, but so do his threats. ("So bad that it's hard to believe what they say about me.") His gentle attitude makes it really difficult to grasp his violent intentions at times.

And recently, especially with the destruction of a recent horse he seemed to be attached to, he's revealed a little to others about his values. "So bad that it's hard to believe, I don't care what they say about me." He is first and foremost a businessman and a showman. If people are scared? Great! If people think him kind? That's just good for business.

That's the most frightening thing about him being isolated this season: He doesn't care as long as he gets what he wants. But he'll pretend he will up until the second he knows it doesn't matter. No attachments, all deals. If people don't show him kindness he remembers and returns the favor later, and explicitly states he will frequently in his perspective.

Now, to remember 3rd Life S1 again:

A refusal of resources, a few missteps and misconceptions here and there and they had a war on their hands. To Ren, he was fighting for his team and his empire. To Scar, he was made into enemy #1 for... what reason? They did nothing wrong! Just having a bit of fun. All of this is a game and something Scar's character takes much more joy in than some other perspectives. It's not a game in some views, which would make him... what?

Crazy? Literally insane in some sense that he would treat this battlefield like middleschool capture the flag?

They targeted him and Scar simply didn't like it, so he took up arms with Grian and the rest and killed Ren himself. ("They wouldn't share, so I took it all, I watched an empire fall.")

You can't trust what anyone says about Scar, including Scar himself.

And he doesn't care about rumors as long as he gets what he wants. He'll take advantage of them.

Akdhakd also this isnt a dig and moreso just a dramatic retelling of how I think this song brings out a more dark idea of Scar's character. All in good fun :). Thank you for enabling me PFTHAHAHA

5 THINGS YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER.

( ONE )    How complex he is. Say what you want about Reno, but he’s got more layers than any other character I’ve been blessed to write. Every time I think there’s nothing else that could possibly surprise me about him (and bear in mind I’ve loved him since the OG) there’s always something else that does. In either the way he words something, the way he acts and even more so now he has actual expression (thank you remake). I’m glad that people are getting to know the other side of him rather than the comedic value that AC brought him in as. He is complex and intelligent. Fiery, fierce and dedicated.  ( TWO )    He is loyal to a fault, which is also probably one of his biggest downfalls. He feels deeply, though he’ll make out that everything is fine. He will risk life and limb for things (lets be honest, how many times does he get his ass handed to him?) Yet he keeps coming back for more, which leads me to the next -- ( THREE )    He never gives up. Beat him down, count him out. You can bet he’ll get right back up and continue. ( FOUR )    He is so painfully human and not this Shinra Machine everyone thinks he is. He feels his choices and he has so many regrets. He might not show you, but you can see it if you look hard enough.  ( FIVE )     He is quite often underestimated. Fobbed off as comedy or idiotic. What I love about him is how intelligent he is. You can’t tell me that Reno became the Turks second in command without being intelligent. You can’t tell me that he flies a chopper backwards and tell me he isn’t talented at what he does. He is fast, intelligent and resilient. He will always use his surroundings to his advantage. He is also strong. He can hold his own very well, though he may not be as physically strong as the likes of Rude or Cloud it doesn’t make him weak. Where he lacks in the physical pow wow he sure makes up for in his zippity zooms and intelligence. Don’t underestimate him. Or do... but don’t be surprised when he uses it against you.

Samus Aran (Metroid)

My first videogame love. I will die for her. Really the first example of a lady kicking ass that I can remember, and also gave me my fascination for the mysterious person in armor trope. Seeing a female character who wasn’t sexualized (until the zero suit, anyway) was a game changer.

Sansa Stark (A Song of Ice and Fire)

I’m in the camp where I prefer book Sansa to show Sansa, but in general I just really love what she represents - or at least the potential of it. A woman constrained by the binds of her society and suffering for it, but learning to play it to her advantage and turn the tables on motherfuckers and make them forever regret underestimating her. Strong in a way that doesn’t require physical power or violence. She’s a very different archetype and I love her for it. (I also enjoy her dynamic with Sandor even though it screams problematic). MY QUEEN IN DA NORF

Sarah Connor (Terminator)

I prefer the first movie to the second and Sarah's a big reason for that. I love seeing an ordinary woman faced with horrifying circumstances and fuckin' killing it. T2 Sarah is very fucked up (and I appreciate that she's realistically fucked up from what she's been through) and I love her too but sweet baby angel T1 Sarah is my fave. I pretend the other movies don’t exist lol sue me

Maiev Shadowsong (Warcraft)

In a total reverse from Sarah Connor, I love Maiev because she's an absolute asshole, but also because she's right. Mostly. A woman incredibly devoted to her duty, who has witnessed a lot of terror and horror, arguably betrayed by her leader and still trying to do what's best for her people. Love her to bits. Tyrande who?

Red (Transistor)

This game stuck with me after I finished it and has still stuck with me. Just having a relatively mute protagonist (save for her singing) in crazy circumstances with her dead boyfriend's soul in a sword she uses to whoop ass. Idk. I just think she's neat.

Furiosa (Mad Max: Fury Road)

She's fury and love, power and tenderness. She's every shade of woman - she’s a human and there’s absolutely no male gaze regarding her (to the point of angering manchildren, legend). If every female character was like Furiosa I could die happy. I can't sufficiently express how amazing she and the rest of the female cast in the movie are but I've seen it three times in theatres if that tells you anything.

Margaret (The Crown)

Her character is based on an actual real life person, but dramatized. This is going to be a smidge weird but idc. I identify a lot with Margaret - her pains in love, her aimlessness, feeling ignored or misunderstood, a complicated but loving relationship with her sister. Taking to abusing alcohol to deal with it and everyone just kind of turning a blind eye. The mix of very high highs and very low lows. Trying to be happy and things never seeming to work out. The absolute tragedy of her life just being absolute garbage - partially of her own making. She's great, Vanessa Kirby and Helena Bonham Carter do a great job portraying her.

Elinor Dashwood (Sense and Sensibility)

For the Austenverse this spot was a tie between Elinor and Anne Elliot from Persuasion. Both are characters I've grown to love more and more as I've gotten older and can identify with them more. They're up there in age, they're the obligatory responsible adult in their families trying to fuckn' make do on this bitch of an earth. They have great pains and anxiety regarding love a nd their age and broken hopes and just hnnnh feels. Emma Thompson is my favorite rendition of her.

Lady Sarah Churchill (The Favorite)

Baddest bitch on the block. Emphasis on bitch. Like Sansa, her world is a sexist and misogynist one where women aren't percieved as a threat - they're barely percieved as players at all - but Sarah is smart as hell and has managed to seat herself in a position of extreme power at the Queen's side. At the cost of emotionally manipulating the Queen for her own selfish needs. (wtf) She's a villian I really like and seeing her and Abigail's power struggles is depressing but entertaining. Also her fashion sense is bomb dot com.

Megara (Disney)

Alongside Esmeralda (another favorite, tho problematic) the only Disney heroine from my childhood that seems to be an actual adult. She's sassy, her hips don't lie, and she loves herself a himbo. Relateable.

After the Walkers ate pizza, Lily began to practice her role as the angel Gabriel for her school nativity. Despite being only five years old, Lily was a perfectionist and took every little thing she did very seriously.

Drake and Camille tried not to laugh as they watched their daughter turn part of the living room into her stage. They had the scripts in their hands - the teachers encouraged the parents to help their children practice - and they waited patiently as Lily put together the finishing touches.

She had found a pair of angel wings in the wardrobe. They were a little tatty but Camille was going to buy her new wings anyway. Lily put on the tatty wings to get into character.

She had placed her baby sister Luna on the centre of the rug. Luna had been given the most important practice role which was baby Jesus. Drake was the practice narrator as he always did funny voices when reading aloud. He always got into his role and Lily relished bedtime stories because Drake treated it like a performance. Camille was the practice Mary, naturally.

'Mommy, you need to sit on the rug,' Lily instructed her. Camille smiled and moved from the sofa to sit cross legged on the rug. Lily handed her a blue towel. 'And put this on your head.'

Drake smirked and watched as Camille draped the blue towel over her head.

'Wow, you look just like her,' he teased. Camille rolled her eyes and arranged herself to look demure and innocent, like the Virgin Mary.

'Okay, daddy, start!' Lily said.

Drake cleared his throat. 'Many years ago, a miracle took place. A girl called Mary was called upon to become the mother of -'

'Daddy.'

Drake stopped and looked at Lily. 'Yes baby?'

Lily bit her lip. 'Can you do a big voice instead?'

Camille sniggered. Drake blinked. 'Uh.. What do you mean?'

Lily's eyebrows furrowed together as she thought to herself. 'Like.. A big voice like the narrator in Hercules!'

Drake thought of the Disney film Hercules. He recalled it well. It was very Morgan Freeman-esque.

'Does the school want that kind of voice?' he asked.

'No but I think it would be so fun!' *Lily explained, jumping up and down.

Drake chuckled. 'Okay, whatever you want.'

He fixed Camille and Lily with a mischievous look, raising his eyebrow. '

You go girls..' he crooned, mimicking the narrator from Hercules. Lily squealed and Camille held back laughter. She loved how good a father Drake was. He was never afraid to be silly.

Soon, it was Lily's lines. She cleared her throat and threw her hand up in the air, sweeping it across dramatically.

'MARY!' she cried. 'You are going to have a baby!'

Camille adopted a shocked expression and read her line. 'Who are you?'

Lily's voice rose high as she read her script. 'I am the angel Gabriel!'

'An angel?!'

Lily nodded eagerly. 'An angel from.. From.. Mommy, what does that say?'

She held out her script and pointed to the word. Camille smiled. 'Heaven,' she told her softly.

Lily grinned. 'Heaven!'

Drake secretly thought that this script was too hard for five year olds but he wasn't going to rain on her parade. He would just privately bring it up to the teachers.

The practice went on for an hour. Lily read slowly, getting used to the words. She didn't have many lines at all, none of the children did. The narrator was to be her teacher while a big portion of the show was dedicated to carols. But Lily's lines were the most important.

When Jesus was born, Lily focused her attention on Luna, who was playing with the edge of the rug.

'Mary..' Lily said gravely, ‘You have had a baby! His name - Luna, stop moving - is Jesus - Luna, stop moving!'

Lily crouched down to stop Luna from attempting to crawl away. 'Luna, you are Jesus!' she cried in exasperation.

Camille picked up Luna and settled her in her lap. Luna gurgled, ignoring the frustrated look on Lily's face. Sometimes, Lily reminded Camille of Lily's godfather Bertrand, in that the two of them took everything seriously and everything had to be just right. This was a big deal for her and the pressure she put on herself was too much sometimes.

'You're doing great baby,' Drake told Lily, trying to calm her down. 'Such a good angel.'

Lily smiled weakly and focused again on the script. Luna watched her sister and practice went on with no more hiccups.

The next morning was Saturday. While Lily watched an animated Christmas film about Jesus for preparation, Drake was outside looking up at the Manor. Camille saw him through the window and joined him outside, wrapping her scarf around her to fight the chill.

'What are you doing?' she asked.

Drake frowned up at the Manor. 'I'm studying the roof to see how feasible it is to cover it in fairy lights..'

'Ah, Mr Christmas' first task!' Camille teased.

Drake nudged her arm with his. 'I told you it would look like Rudolph threw up.'

'True, you did. Just don't be like Chevy Chase and fall off the roof..' Camille said. 'I don't want to spend Christmas in a hospital ward.'

Drake chuckled. 'You underestimate me, Mrs Walker! I have one thing that Chevy Chase doesn't have in that film.'

'Which is?'

Drake pointed to his head and gave her a knowing look. 'Common sense. '

Camille giggled and snuggled into him, looking up at the roof. Drake pressed a kiss on top of her head, enjoying being close to her.

'You're getting help to put them up, right?' Camille asked.

'I'll ask Liam and Leo,' Drake told her.

'Not Maxwell?'

Drake stared at Camille with wide eyes. 'There's no way in hell I'm letting that guy up on our roof!'

Camille giggled. 'Okay, stupid suggestion. So, lights on the roof. What else are you planning?'

Drake smiled and moved to stand behind her. Wrapping his arms around her body, he held her close.

'Definitely mistletoe on the front door,' he murmured in her ear. 'Mistletoe everywhere in fact.'

Camille's mouth quirked up at the corner. 'You dont need excuses to kiss me, Drake,' she said.

Drake's lips brushed her jawline, making her skin break out in goosebumps. 'I know. I just want every opportunity.'

Camille turned around to kiss him deeply. 'More where that came from,' she whispered when they parted.

Drake twirled her around so they were both facing the manor again. 'I've got a surprise for Lily later,' he said. 'It'll be the start of the Walker Family Christmas.'

Camille snuggled into his chest, feeling his heart beat against her back. 'I'm so excited,' she told him. 'Our family.'

'Lily, baby, do you want to come downstairs?' Camille shouted. 'Daddy's got a surprise for you.'

Drake and Camille laughed at the sound of pounding feet running down the stairs. Lily jumped down the last step. 'Surprise?' she asked.

Camille jostled Luna in her arms and beckoned for Lily to follow her parents through to the living room. Lily was dressed in a fluffy purple sweater and pink leggings with silver sparkles. She had a Christmas onesie but she was saving that for special.

Drake smiled softly and gestured for Lily to sit down by the fireplace with him. 'Okay Lils,' he began. 'Have you ever heard of a yule log?'

Lily nodded eagerly. 'Yeah the chocolate ones! Have we got a chocolate yule log?'

Drake chuckled and shook his head. 'No honey. A real yule log actually isn't made of chocolate. It's a special log and I've found it!'

Lily wrinkled her nose. 'Why is it special?'

Drake gently pulled Lily onto his lap and settled his chin on top of her head. 'Well, we burn this special log on Christmas Eve and we keep it burning through the twelve days of Christmas,' he explained. 'Then, you keep a piece of the log for next year. This piece will bring good luck to the home and everyone who lives in it.'

'Do we do anything with the piece?' Lily asked.

'We burn it too,' Drake told her. 'And we then take a new piece. The cycle continues.'

'Ohhh.. So we have good luck for the whole year?'

'Damn right,' Drake said. 'How cool is that?'

Lily looked around the room. 'Where is it?'

Camille picked up the log that was on the table and showed it to Lily. Lily gently ran her finger along it and whispered, 'Magic..'

Drake felt his heart tug. His own father had celebrated the Pagan tradition of the Yule Log. It was always their activity to go out and find that special log and it was something Drake looked forward to every year. Now that Lily was old enough to appreciate it, Drake had decided that the Yule Log could be their own family tradition.

'So we burn it on Christmas Eve,' Lily recited, 'for twelve whole days. And then good luck.'

'Sounds fun, right?' Camille asked her.

Lily nodded.

'You know, my daddy used to burn the Yule Log with me,' Drake said wistfully. 'It was always magical.'

'Grandpa Jackson,' Lily said, her eyes focused on the log.

Drake squeezed her hand. 'Yeah, Lils. Grandpa Jackson.'

He felt Camille rest her hand on his back. Without her saying a word, Drake knew she was there for him.

'What else did you and Grandpa Jackson do?' Lily asked. 'Can we do other things you did together?'

Drake felt surprise at her words. This was the first time Lily had shown deep interest. Sure, she asked about Jackson and liked to see photos of him but Drake felt that now she was getting older, Lily was understanding more.

'Of course we can,' Drake said, his voice cracking. 'He'd love that.'

Even though Jackson had been dead for years, Drake still believed his father was around. He wasn’t religious in the slightest, but that faint hope that lit up his heart when he thought about his dad made him feel close to him.  The Fourth of July and Christmas were the two occasions that Drake loved because those were the occasions his own dad had enjoyed. 

He often thought about what Jackson would be like with his granddaughters. He imagined his deep laugh as he played with them on the floor. He would call Lily ‘little lady’ because that’s what Jackson used to call Drake’s sister when she was small. He would tickle Luna and make her laugh her little gurgling laugh.

Drake imagined Lily settled in the crook of Jackson’s arm, her legs up on his knees, as he read her favourite story aloud to her, doing all the voices. Jackson always did the voices. 

That was why Drake always did the voices when he read to Lily too.

Do you listen to What The Force podcast? They have this crazy weird but interesting theory that Palpy wants to marry Rey to control her and obtain power...And I don’t know what to feel about it because it’s such a weird thing to consider that Palpy is gonna be romantic rival lol But it could happen mainly because a lot of stories have this kind of trope...but Palpy?! I have mix feelings bcuz I dont even want Rey to entertain this idea at all. She can be tricked who knows. What are your thoughts?

But seriously, I can say I’m definitely intrigued, and I don’t think it’s that crazy, though I’m not sold on the /romantic rival/ part. I don’t think it will be literal.

So this theory hinges on the trope of the “dark suitor”: usually some kind of demonic figure or evil magician archetype that tries to lure/force the maiden-heroine into a dark marriage to harness her power—or, in more prosaic stories, her resources. This is quite common in Disney and dark fairytales, particularly those that center on a female protagonist: Beetlejuice (as above), A series of unfortunate events, Legend, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Beauty and the Beast to some extent (Gaston might not be an evil magician, but he’s a dark suitor nonetheless, someone who lusts after the heroine out of a desire to control her)—The Little Mermaid has a gender reversed version of this trope, with Ursula trying to marry Eric (a male proxy, in this case) to permanently steal Ariel’s magical voice and keep her as a slave. As the podcast put it, it’s not about a love triangle per se, but about controlling feminine power, often in a sexualized way. I think it’s important to note that the dark suitor trope differs from the more general “villainous crush” because the villain in question doesn’t have a genuine crush or feelings for the heroine, but tries to seduce her for his own personal gain, or because he’s simply evil personified, an inherently dark force that only exists to corrupt and enslave. In contrast, the real love interest is the one who lets the heroine go, learning to respect her freedom and giving up any attempt to control her (see: the Beast leaving Belle free).

Now, this is pure speculation based on an analysis of tropes and archetypes, but this time not based on canon material, merely on predictions of how those tropes could evolve, so I recommend taking it with a grain of salt. Our theories about the force bond or Reylo being reminiscent of Hades/Persephone, Beauty and the Beast, Bastila and Revan etc. were so strong because they had a lot of canon evidence or foreshadowing to rely on. (think of how many hints of the force bond were in the tfa novelization, or how much the cinematography screams “Hades” and “Grim Reaper” when Kylo comes on screen). Otoh, we have nothing in canon to predict what Palpatine’s role will be in relation to Rey, other than a brief glimpse of Dark!Rey from the sizzle reel and, well, Palpatine’s own track record with seducing people. We haven’t even seen a glimpse of Palpatine himself in this trilogy so far.

We have, of course, our understanding of the trilogy’s main themes and what they’re trying to accomplish as the final word on an entire saga. Namely, redemption, healing the wounded masculine through the feminine, and incorporating the former into the latter and vice versa, in a “divine” reconciliation of opposites (a wound opened by Anakin’s choking Padme and falling to the dark side via Palpatine’s orchestrations).

One thing that imo the Reylo fandom got completely right is that the Feminine—Rey’s femininity—is really crucial to this trilogy. Rey being a heroine defines and changes everything, from the nature of her heroic journey to her dynamic with the villain(s). So I think it’s definitely plausible—almost certain—that Palpatine will identify in her the ultimate bride apprentice to seduce, exploit & maybe subdue, PRECISELY bc she’s a woman (“Padmé reborn with the Force”) and NOT a Skywalker (a bloodline Palpatine has now a BAAAAD track record with). Whilst Snoke, who tried so hard and failed to be Palpatine like Kylo tries and fails to be Vader, targeted Kylo and ignored Rey, Palpatine will do the exact opposite, and try to get rid of Kylo (or maybe use him as a bait / cannon fodder / sacrificial lamb) to get to Rey. Because he knows where the real power resides. In essence, he’ll throw Ben/Padmé under the bus to secure Rey/Anakin’s powers.

(but exactly like Snoke before him, he will underestimate both Ben Solo and Rey, and his hubris will be his downfall)

My main issue with this is that I don’t think Rey’s weakness is her need for romantic love, so I find it unlikely that she’ll be tempted by a second romantic suitor. She longs for a belonging, for connection, yes. But Kylo offered her exactly that in the form of a romantic proposal, and she was able to turn him down. So why should she fall for Palpatine’s seduction, instead? Even if he manifests himself in the form of sexy Matt Smith? What does he have to offer, that Kylo does not? How can he seduce Rey when even Kylo, the man Rey falls in love with in TLJ, could not?

well,

unlike Kylo, Palps is incredibly good at manipulation. Kylo’s proposal was naked, blunt. Join me and together we will rule the galaxy. He said she was nothing but not to him, but that’s kindergarten manipulation compared to Palpatine’s skills (it’s not manipulation at all, actually, but that’s another issue). He didn’t try to blackmail her, bargain her surrender in exchange for her friends’ lives, offer to reunite her with her parents, offer her to resuscitate her parents, NOTHING. Hell, he actually tried to heal Rey’s conflict over her parents, forcing her to confront her suppression of her abandonment, accept it and MOVE ON. We been saying that a real Sith, on the other hand, would let the wound fester, and fester, and fester, and then strike, because an apprentice with a huge achilles’ heel is much easier to manipulate into the dark side. 

this “dark marriage proposal” might not be literal, but symbolical. The sexual symbolism of such a union might be hidden, disguised as something else—something Rey needs desperately, or thinks so. A father figure. Something Kylo repeatedly called her out on. 

Related to point 2: what if Kylo’s proposal failed because he explicitly presented himself as her equal (and potential mate, scaring the shit out of her, because she’s in the adolescence phase in TLJ and she’s confused by her sexuality, and still clinging to the childhood version of herself, see her *regression* in the last act of the movie), rather than as her… daddy? If not as her literal father, as an older, wiser, trustworthy, authoritative male figure that plays into Rey’s need for guidance and belonging. We thought she was over it by the end of TLJ, but what if she hasn’t fully processed it yet? 

Now enter Palpatine, the ultimate demonic figure in this entire story, with unparalleled skills in disguise and manipulation and vast experience in mentoring young, troubled apprentices with abandonment issues, either presenting himself as a seductive young(ish) man claiming to be able to bring Rey’s parents back / tell her the REAL truth about them, or literally pretending to be her father. Enter an Elektra complex, that would be a great counterpoint to the vastly documented oedipal subtext in Anakin and Ben’s narratives. Make it REALLY ambiguous as fuck. And here’s your “weird” story.

The nice thing about this theory is that it’s a subversion of the villain x heroine narrative we’ve been watching so far (and reviled for liking by the rest of the fandom). We thought Kylo was the Murderous Snake, the evil seductor, the dark suitor. And he was, but only because he’s Rey’s Shadow. In truth, he’s an angel in demon clothes. Underneath the monster, there’s the real Heroic Love Interest. He’s the darkness that Rey needs to incorporate and reconcile with; Palpatine is the darkness she needs to reject.

Another thing—whether or not this theory comes to fruition, I’m fairly certain there will be a moment where Palpatine, seemingly in control of Rey, urges her to kill Ben (remember that “kill him!” in the TFA novelization?). Because that’s what Palpatine does—he’s the Devil whispering in the Lovers’ ears, turning them against one another. But because this is reverse anidala, Rey will succeed where Anakin succumbed, and categorically reject to hurt her lover. The Lovers will be stronger than the Evil Magician this time.

tony tries very hard to lavish peter with expensive things.

he does so so often with his own friends and family it comes as almost second nature, and at some points peter really does need help now and again but tony tends to go a bit far with gifts so peter one day finally puts his foot down.

after an long conversation about it they decided that tony can have one “cheat day” every other month where he can buy peter anything so long it isnt 1. preordered 2. reserved 3. more than a hundred thousand dollars (tony almost made it a million but peter fought hard against that) 4. more than peter can carry (he forgets he can lift several tons and tony takes advantage of that fact let me tell you) and finally 5. it cant be just straight up cash (tony rolled his eyes at that one “you think i cant be creative kid?” “dont tell me it isnt something you wouldnt do mr. stark come one” “...fair”)

peter underestimates how much social power that tony has, and on his first cheat day it takes only one tweet and a few hours later him and peter are sitting down with mark hamill and many other noteable actors from many of peters favorite films. another cheat day is another phone call here and there and suddenly they’re invited to sit down at the nicest of restaurants, museums, parks of all kinds, shows and parties.

to their suprise several cheat days in that because of tony’s approach he actually hardly ends up buying peter anything at all on his cheat days (with the exception of a trip to a gift shop here and there). it comes as a great revelation that tony finds that peter is at his happiest not with material value but rather with the time and company he keeps with tony.

the cheat days work well for the two of them, and they do well to keep to the rules with the exception of two occasions. the first being when tony made a day trip with peter to disney world with mj and ned. his friends had such a good time they decided to make a weekend out of it, to which peter was really greatful to have such a good time with his friends. the other incident was when tony actually drove peter down to a dealership and straight up bought him a car.

“mr stark! i said only things i could carry, this is too much!” “come on kid you know you could lift this with your pinky if you really wanted to.” “shh! they’ll hear yo-“ “besides, all kids need a bumper car for when theyre first learning how to drive. personally i think we could do better with a bigger budget but i guess this scrap of metal would do. now lets find an empty parking lot and get to practicing, i want you certified road ready by the time i finish the blueprints for the spider-mobile ive been working on for the past few weeks” “wow mr stark! youre actually going to teach me how to d- WAIT SPIDER-MOBILE” “haha yea kid you said i couldnt buy anything but you didnt say i couldnt make anything. and no, before you start it shouldnt count anyway because i make you spiderman stuff all the time. this car will be tuned into karen and will have its own compartment for making suit repairs on scene. think of it as an upgrade really” “WILL IT HAVE EIGHT WHEELS?” “...you know i said i could be creative but thats maybe taking it too far”

Prince Hans’s Daddy issues ( Part 3)

3- Prince Hans toxic relationship with his father :  the palace is the prison and the king the jailer. ( what a frozen heart told us)

Now if we talk about the king’s relationship with his last son , this is even worse than the relationship of some disney villain ( frollo , gothel , lady tremaine ) with their victims because him this  this is his own son.

-there is one special interaction that tell everything about how the king relationship with his last son is toxic :.

When Hans is in his office ,  he has to worked for him during 3 years to convinced his father to go to elsa’s coronation. The king told hans that he act responsible  and  can go to the coronation ( he makes him feel he has his trust) but after told him once the gates are closed he needs to go immediately back home. ( read the king wants him to babysit his nephew but its not mention in my book )

>  this show that not only the king does not trust his son ( because he has the needs to remind him of that) but also has a need to  limit his freedom and that show of how much toxic he is to Hans. this is not just an impression of Hans that his father control his life this is the reality. the king control the life of all his sons he is the one who will decide who they are gonna marry.

He is not a just a distant father who doesn't give a crap about his last son that he hates and think he is useless otherwise that would not bothers him to let hans never go back home. He wants his son to stay in the southern isles and control his life he doesn't wants him to be independent.

He had succeed making Hans totally dependant on him. Hans is frightened by his father. If it wasn't for lars Hans would have continue to obey his father and go to the brotherhood and accept his fate.  i really see that as the king take pleasure in tormenting hans in his life  and he doesn't want his son to be free because he needs his son to suffer to satisfy his own ego. This is exactly how work narcissistic father with their Children.

He is a malignant narcissist just the fact that Hans is the only son he doesn't want to organize a wedding show how much little respect he has for his last son let's also notice that  this  is the king who is the source of hans’s abuse not his brothers. if his brothers bullies him this is because they want to please their father into his weird philosophy. so they adopt his way of thinking. rudi and runo capt their father attention when they mock hans. they erase their voice in order for the king to heard them.

- then there is the humiliation of the king :

It's perfectly normal to not want to went to a party where everyone is gonna mock you and throw things at your face ( this is what hans’s Brother do when they saw their youngest brother ) But the king reverse the role and told hans that he is the one who should feel ashamed of himself. He is late to the birthday of the only person who  has notice he wasn’t there  : his mother. Hans reaction is to no respond because well his father is right his mother is the only one who notice him and makes him apologize.

The king also reverse the situation again when the twins mock hans. Him and his sons are the one who feel superior to hans but he says to hans how he is the one who needs to stop acting superior to his brothers.

his brothers abuse him every day of his life , the father is the source , but tell hans how he doesnt have time to listen him complain about his brother.again this is the fault of hans  who complain too much , not his brothers.

Hans wants to leave his father and brother , wants to be free from his father humiliation  that he consider violent. this is mention in the book.

but still  a part of him wants to have his father's respect. He wants to prove to everyone and mostly his father that they had underestimate him.  he wants to show them how much potential he can have.

-he daydream all days , his dream is that he is the only son of the king and his father tells him  how extraordinary he is and then  “ i m so proud , so proud of you hans”.

-When the king then  ignored Hans and then talk to his oldest son : caleb , Hans is frustrated and jealous his father has already forget him. Hans wants his father attention even if he has humiliate him two second before. He even say that he would have give anything to be in caleb’s position.  this is just so sad....he is desperate to have the attention of his father...he think if his father doesn't pay attention to him there is a reason. but there is no reason his father has choose his goldenchild: caleb and his scapegoat : Hans and he can’t do anything about it.

Hans is 100% dependant on his father at the start of the book. He is materially, financially and emotionally dependent on his father. Lars has succeed find him a solution to his freedom but Hans is not free. the king remind him : “dont...”disappoint me...again” Hans answer show how much emotional power the king has over his son. he responded  “ i won’t” this is important for him to have his father’s acknowledgment

He has the needs to makes his father proud of him and have his respect . This is his father who is not worthy of hans's attention but he had makes him believe this is the contrary for his own needs. His father has corrupt his mind into believing that he is right he should be ashamed of himself and act like he wants. Hans doesn't understand that this is his father that doesn't deserve his respect.

Ugh. My sentiments exactly. I’ve had to try to keep to myself as much as I can because whenever I try to speak about the many, many problems the new trilogy has presented us with so far, I get shutdown and told that I’m “just salty because the EU/Legends is no longer canon”. I’ll admit, I am a bit salty over that, still. Especially because of how inspiring and influential Mara Jade was to me as a child/teen. But that’s not the point.

Yes, I will always prefer Legends. However, I have stated, multiple times, that I’m willing to give the new Disney canon a shot. And so far it has been horrible in both its treatment of the cast, plot development, and, well…just everything. And yet I’m just written off as a bitter fan and told my “criticisms” aren’t valid, all because I like Legends. I’m sick of this mentality of “Star Wars is Star Wars; you HAVE to like it no matter WHAT! It is GOLDEN AND PERFECT!!!”

It’s okay to be salty! Disney’s decision to scrap Absolutely Everything EU related so it could be periodically reinstated was incredibly clumsy, even worse than the performance of all the elements that composed the EU when they came together. And the fact that they try to reinstate them as cameos in Rebels (which is clearly meant for children) who have no idea who Thrawn is or where Malachor is, to name some examples, makes them look plenty bad since those already have a story with characters and situations that, according to them, dont even exist. It’s like taking the George Lucas way of thinking and shove cheap comedy of bad taste into plots that are clearly meant to be tragic (bc they apparently underestimate children caring about serious stories unlike Clone Wars. which works for both the eu and disney)

And then using directors like JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson when its clear they have barely any creativity both in worldbuilding and character formation is just a punch in the face. Theyre these white fanboys who dont care about where their characters come from and what they are doing. The fanbase takes their words for facts when thats clearly! not! the! point! Inside the EU knowing everything means either you should know it barely stands for itself or you were pulling the same trash the canon fans are doing right now and preaching to the letter. I’ve always seen star wars as a universe where you use what you like and dump what you don’t and have fun with it. Policing is plain horrible in any fandom and this one is infamous for it. With a lot of effort, I’m going to forget the plot and keep loving Finn, Poe, Rey and Rose. I can’t do much against what Disney says its canon but i sure as hell im going to be critical about it. it also wont stop from loving the characters of the new canon, the eu and my ocs. Im just extremely sad about how the original trio is being handled and how everyone is now going to say luke is just a second yoda who died and leia barely knew how to use the force when the eu made them a lot of justice compared to whats happening in this official trainwreck which has a lot more voice since movies speak louder than comics and books.

- Unlike Akira, he kinda improvises, mostly because he’s too nervous to stick to a plan, especially since sometimes plans dont go as intended.

- So the whole entire time instead of listening to his crush, hes stuck thinking of when a good opportunity might be

- “What are your thoughts on that Ryuji?”

- “IreallylikeyouS/O” he blurts out

- Oh noes he messed up and embarrassed himself!

- Just kidding!

- S/O actually finds that cute

- “Not the answer I was looking for, but I like this one better! I like you too Ryuji!”

Yusuke:

- For a long while now, Yusuke had shut himself in his dorm room.

- Why you ask? He was working on something very important.

- He decided to bite the bullet and confess to his S/O, but how was he gonna do that?

- Through a painting of course!

- Yusuke is not the best with his words, as you can tell his phrases are either awfully blunt or sound unintentionally inappropriate

- So the only way he can confess without making himself look like an utter weirdo is through a painting, where he can portray his feelings in the best way he possibly can.

- When S/O receives the painting, it probably almost brought tears to their eyes

- Its so BEAUTIFUL 

- Each brush stroke was applied with care, not one stroke out of place.

- S/O’s answer was definitely yes

Akechi:

- He, like Akira, also plans thoroughly.

- Mister Prince Detective had planned a bit of a scavenger hunt, leaving clues for his crush that would eventually lead them to their favorite place (Don’t ask how he knows that, hes a detective)

- Once S/O finally reaches their final destination, he makes himself known.

- Go figure he’s gotta be extra and dress nicely, almost prince like

- And thats because he confesses to you, like a Disney prince

- It’s so cheesy yet meaningful, of course you had to reciprocate those feelings!

1. Before jjba, i was obsessed with and posted art for hxh.

2. When i was in elementary school i got into a lot of fights with my cousin Dom because all my older cousins edged us on.

3. On a similar note i got in trouble in fourth grade for pulling off a kid’s sock.

4. My friends and I go to every new pixar and disney film.

5. I had many texture aversions when i was younger so i practically survived on chicken nuggets and caesar salad till i was 13. 

6. My rich cousins had a golf cart so we always drove it during the summer.

7. Unfortunately we drove it in the Abby we lived near by where the monks would run after us screaming (it only got worse when they bought ATV’s).  

8. I’m the weirdly quiet kid at school and the weirdly inappropriate kid with my friends.

9. I wrote short stories until my eighth grade english teacher killed my love of writing.

10. I’ve done over 10 sports- but have only stuck with karate and skiing.
