Full context for each beneath the cut, because the poll options have character limits and the Epics are LONG:
King of diamonds, king of spades / Hades was king of a kingdom of dirt / Miners of mines, diggers of graves / They bowed down to Hades who gave them work / And they bowed down to Hades who made them sweat/Who paid them their wages and set them about / Digging / And dredging / And dragging the depths of the earth / To turn its insides out (Vermont, Concept Album, NYTW)
And he bowed down to no one, below or above / 'Til the arrow of Eros struck him in the heart / And the king of the underworld fell in love / With a woman who walked in a garden (London)
And the earth warmed over in the dead of winter / The stillborn spring lay cold beneath / Summer gave a stormy sermon / Autumn walked in its wake like a wreath / And the people moved like weather patterns / Looking for shelter, looking for warmth / Helter-skelter, the four winds scattered / The scavengers over the ravaged earth (Vermont)
And a million feet that fell in line / And stepped in time with Hades' step / And a million minds that were just one mind / Like stones in a row / As stone by stone / Row by row / The river rose up (Concept Album, NYTW)
Hades is king of the scythe and the sword / He covers the world in the color of rust / He scrapes the sky and scars the earth / And he comes down heavy and hard on us (Concept Album, NYTW)
And the sun rose and fell in his chest as he held her / He felt the earth moving without and within / And there were no words for the way that he felt / So he opened his mouth and he started to sing (London)
The heart of the king is a tinderbox / That he has to keep under lock and key / That it not catch fire inside of his chest / 'Cause a lover's desire is a mutiny / A lover's desire is a wilderness (Vermont)
In the dark of the mine, he is trying to fill / The hole that his lover has left in his arms / With the silver and gold / He can have and hold / Not half, but whole / All to himself (Broadway previews, with some lines from Vermont)

"and crashing and pounding, his rivers surround him and drown out the sound of the song he once heard: laaa la la la la la laaaa..."
happy trails to my favorite orpheus ever, reeve carney!! the fact that i never got to see him live is a tragedy. no one will ever do it like him. you do not understand how sad i am that the last original broadway cast member is leaving, and his portrayal of orpheus is so fundamental to the character. i'm officially in mourning.
fly high, king ✊🏽😔 (he's not dead, just leaving)

I just had another Hadestown thought, because I am so normal about this musical.
The fact that Orpheus turns around shows that he had the potential to become just like Hades. In Epic II Orpheus sings about how Hades feared that Persephone would never come back to the underworld when she was on the surface and that’s what fueled his paranoia and jealousy. Then in Doubt Comes In, part of the reason Orpheus turns around is because he doesn’t trust Eurydice enough to believe she will follow him back out into the cold and dark instead of staying in Hadestown where she’s guaranteed to be provided for.

Overview
About
The first-ever sequel from Supergiant Games builds on the best aspects of the original god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler in an all-new, action-packed, endlessly replayable experience rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.
Key Features
Battle Beyond the Underworld – As the immortal Princess of the Underworld, you’ll explore a bigger, deeper mythic world, vanquishing the forces of the Titan of Time with the full might of Olympus behind you, in a sweeping story that continually unfolds through your every setback and accomplishment.
Master Witchcraft and Dark Society – Infuse your legendary weapons of Night with ancient magick, so that none may stand in your way. Become stronger still with powerful Boons from more than a dozen Olympian gods, from Apollo to Zeus. There are nearly limitless ways to build your abilities.
Mingle with (More) Gods, Ghosts, and Monsters – Meet a cast of dozens of fully-voiced, larger-than-life characters, including plenty of new faces and some old friends. Grow closer to them through a variety of new interactions, and experience countless unique story events based on how your journey unfolds.
Every Run is its Own Adventure – New locations, challenges, upgrade systems, and surprises await as you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld again and again. Reveal the mysteries of the Arcana Altar, tame witchy familiars, and gather reagents using Tools of the Unseen to get closer to your goal.
The Perks of Immortality – Thanks to a variety of permanent upgrades and the return of God Mode, you don’t have to be a god yourself to experience what Hades II has to offer. But if you happen to be one, you can brave escalating challenges for greater rewards, and prove just how divine you really are.
Signature Supergiant Style – Rich, atmospheric presentation and storytelling fused with responsive action is the hallmark of Supergiant’s titles. Vivid new hand-painted environments, even smoother real-time 3D characters, and an electrifying original score make this mythic world burst with life.
Coming to Early Access
Getting player feedback through key phases of development was vital for the original Hades, so we plan to reprise that process once more, once this game is further along.

Ngl I'm pretty weirded out by depictions of Circe that make her characterization as motherly when her myths are *reads notes on hand*
Turning Scylla into a monster because she was jealous her lover liked her.
Making Odysseus sleep with her after turning his men to swine and discovering he took moly.
Turned Picus, a married man, into a woodpecker because he said no to her sexual advances.

His loneliness moves in him / You take in Crude and black / The blackness of air He thinks of his wife / The likes of a darkness In the arms of the sun / So deep And jealousy fuels him / That god at the start And feeds him and fills him / Couldn't bear Let all time slow / In the darkest time of year Let all light go / Why is it so bright down here? I don't need to know / Brighter than a carnival Where we begin and end / It ain't right and it ain't natural I'd still know you / Lover, you were gone so long Not being shown you / Lover, I was lonesome I only need / So I laid a power grid The workin' of my hands / In the ground on which you stood
For some reason, Tumblr wouldn't let me upload Part 2/Chant separately, so have the combined track!

I’m back on my bullshit but lemme just say that the girl on the left is FAR MORE GORGEOUS than the girl on the right and I know I’m right. They never should have changed her she was perfect the way she was.

Hadestown. HADESTOWN. WHY did you incorporate West End lyrics into Broadway. not the good ones from If It's True, but the ones from Epic III, which actively make the song worse. why did you not include the good changes and only included the bad ones. WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM HADESTOWN
