the importance of mike and will simply getting each other (pt 2):
part one here !
I’ve covered the significance of Mileven simply not understanding each other, & now it’s time to talk about their counterpart !
(specifying that nothing in these posts is new or groundbreaking, I’m just covering multiple topics and gathering info in one place !)
season 1:
Episode one begins with the party playing a d&d campaign:

When Mike goes upstairs to talk to his mom, Will discovers he’d rolled a seven, meaning the monster got him in the game. Dustin and Lucas say “Did Mike see it?” to which Will shakes his head no. “Then it doesn’t count!” Lucas replies as they scramble to leave the house.
Dustin and Lucas leave and Mike stands next to Will in the garage. After a moment of quiet, Will tells Mike,
“It was a seven. The roll. It was a seven. The demogorgon, it got me.”

To which Mike responds with:

nothing.
This scene is the first scene we get with Mine and Will alone in the whole show. This scene sets up the entirety of their relationship, telling the audience right off the bat,
“Hey! These two boys are best friends, and they don’t lie to each other!”
First impressions are always important in media, and next we get El and Mike’s first scenes together.
Remember, Mike only found El because he was out with Dustin and Lucas looking for Will.

Now, Mike is sweet to El that first night and next day. But keep in mind that the only reason El spent that first night in Mike’s basement was because Mike didn’t want to get in trouble by his mom, because he had been out looking for Will, something he wasn’t supposed to be doing.
Dustin says, “I think we should tell your mom,” and Lucas agrees. Mike responds with, “Who’s crazy now?”
Lucas: “How is that crazy?”
Mike: “Because we weren’t supposed to be out tonight, remember?”

Mike makes the plan to have El sleep there for the night, then go around to the front door in the morning so Karen will know what to do with her. Mike wants her to leave in the morning so they can go back to looking for Will.
Remember, the only reason she stayed the night was so the boys didn’t get in trouble for looking for Will.
Mike keeps Eleven around 1. because “bad men” are after her, and Mike does care for her and her safety, and 2. Mike has a feeling Will is alive and El knows how to find him.
They don’t have many interactions in season 1 due to Will being in the upside down, but they reunite at the end of the season and everything is (seemingly) back to normal.
season 2:
Everyone knows season two is byler’s season ! El is living with Hopper, unbeknownst to the boys, and Mike and Will are as close as ever.
Episode 1: The party goes to Palace Arcade and plays Dig Dug. In the midst of this, Will gets a weird feeling and suddenly sees the upside down.

He walks outside slowly and sees the Mind Flayer, followed by one person and one person only: his best friend.

Mike is the only one out of the other three to notice Will is gone and follow him out. He puts his arm around Will and walks him back inside to play Dig Dug.
Later on in episode one, Joyce picks Will up early from school for his appointment with Dr. Owens,

and the camera zooms into Mike and Mike only, saying,

All three boys notice something is off, but Mike is the first to say something about it.
This whole season is meant to showcase the special friendship Mike and Will have. They know each other the best and even the rest of the party knows that.
Episode 2: This episode is an important one. Max joins the party while trick-or-treating and Mike is not on board with the idea.

I've noticed when the party split off into groups, it's almost always Mike & Will, Dustin & Lucas, or Lucas & Max. Mike and Will are glued to each other's hip most of the time.

Mike is upset that Will allowed for Max to join them while trick-or-treating, and when Mike hurries ahead of Will, Will almost seems disappointed in himself for disappointing Mike, staring after him like Mike caught him committing atrocities and he feels guilty. lmao poor will, he just wants to make mike happy !
A moment later we have bullies push Will to the ground, resulting in him seeing the upside down & Mind Flayer again, calling for Mike and running to safety.

When Mike finally reaches Will, he exclaims, "Will! I couldn't find you, are you hurt?" indicating that the moment Mike turned around and didn't see Will behind him, he sensed something was off and went looking for him, just like at Palace Arcade.

While the others chase down the stairs, either cussing or verbally confused, Mike is the only one at Will's side asking him if he's okay.

He helps Will up and puts an arm around him again, just like at palace Arcade, and takes him ho--- oh, you thought I was gonna say home? To Will's house? Nope! Mike says he's going to take Will home, and takes him to the Wheeler's basement.

Ladies and gentlemen, how could I make a byler post without including the infamous crazy together scene !?
We have Mike and Will sitting on the couch in the Wheeler's basement, and Will is telling him all about these "visions" he's been having.
He begins describing,

but stops, not knowing how to finish his sentence. But no worries, Mike finishes it for him!

Will then begs Mike to keep it a secret.

Why won't the others understand? Did the other party member not already see a demogorgon? Do they not already know what the upside down is? Will just wants to have something special--a secret only he and Mike know. He knows the others would understand, but doesn't think they'd be of any help. Unlike Mike, whom he trusts completely.

They would have to deal with being treated like a child for hundreds of years all while everyone imposes their fantasy of what they have to be
She has to be Rosalie’s sweet girl
She has to be Edwards therapist
She has to be Alice’s doll
She had to be jaspers constant gratification
She has to be Esme’s mommas girl
She has to be Carlisle’s daddy’s girl
She has to be Emmett’s cute little sis
She has to be bellas only friend who gives good advice and lends an ear
Reader can’t even have the privacy of hating them in their mind because Edward is constantly going through their thoughts
They have to be all these things all the time without a mental rest and also balancing their power
If they put one foot over line Carlisle has them kicking and screaming from punishment
Is it any wonder they try to escape all the time?
2. Lost boys daughter

Readers early life will be good most of the time
Apart from the occasional outburst from David and the constant abandonment from Paul reader would grow up with the thought of a decent childhood because of Dwayne, marko, max and star
It all comes crumbling down when reader becomes a teenager
The boys can’t handle you growing a personality outside of them, they wish they could mould you with the qualities they wish to enforce on you
They will constantly abuse you, most of the time mentally and verbally but occasionally physically
They cause reader to go into constant depressive episodes and only take interest in them when it’s convenient for them
Once reader grows up to be a person with desires and goal outside of them, they grow colder and more strict
They heard readers calls for help and thought that it was for attention
Not to mention the punishment room that reader never really recovered from
The boys would rather have you be dead than away from them
So all in all, much better than the cullens but much worse than the rest
3. Yandere Micheal Myers daughter

Michael genuinely cares for reader in his own way
While yes, he may view them slightly as a pet, he still cares about them
He makes himself more available for them
Michael stayed in the mental institution for so long because it meant that he could have you in their younger years
He loves reader more than most things in his life, accept for killing
That means that when he does break out and track you down when your old enough to take care of yourself, he’ll leave you for weeks to get his bloodlust out
He does this so you don’t see him being aggressive because sometimes he gets concerned that he may accidentally hurt you
What puts Michael so low on this list is the lack of physical or verbal abuse
He refuses to lay a single finger on you
You two have a fight? He does to kill to get the anger out
The only times he ever came off as aggressive is the times you’ve asked to leave and he’s broken things around him in frustration
He may use his size to block exits or to intimidate but he will not hurt you
He’s gone for weeks on end so if you want to leave what’s realistically stopping you?
There’s no locks on the doors or windows, your allowed a phone, you can go out, food is delivered to your door every week
You could leave at any moment and yes Michael may find you but he won’t hurt you or take you back
He’ll just watch to make sure your safe and kill people he sees as a bad influence
He just wants to make sure your safe
The only reason he isn’t the best is because he will not accept you growing up and he killed your family
4. Cullen reader with volturi

Once cullen reader has escaped the cullens, they would take anything
If we follow the plot we know that most if not all of the volturi are yandere
Yet they don’t use this to excuse cruel actions towards you
They give you options and let you grow into a person
The volturi kings even offer and provide mates for you while the cullens killed anyone who you could even consider an friend
They would respect your diet, accommodate your powers and provide you with outings and experiences
They can be cruel and controlling but compared to the cullens they are a cake walk
Your given everything you could ever want and unimaginable power that you can wield
You have vampire royalty wrapped around your finger
They would defend you with their lives and give you everything on a silver platter
All they ask In return is your eternal loyalty and love

Season 1. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Season 2 Mike character analysis: Part 2
Now add to this my theory that Mike has started to realize that he's gay and has feelings for Will. His grief and trauma are already wrapped up in Will - they are inseparable things. Will disappearing is what prompted all of this. It prompted the entire story of season 1 and everyones trauma along with it (including Will's). And it's prompting Mike to start thinking about what it would be like to lose him. Because he almost did. And he can't let that happen again, which leads to his protectiveness of Will this season.
The two are inseparable - not just their story lines and character arcs, but the way the interact with each other. They are shown throughout the season (and series) to have a deep friendship and emotional connection.
Mike is visibly concerned when Will leaves school early to go to the doctors. He mentions that Will was quiet today. And Lucas responds with "he's always quiet." This reveals 2 things - Will is different around Mike. He talks more. He shows a part of himself to Mike that Lucas and Dustin don't see. And 2 - Mike not only knows this but he notices the slightest change in Will's demeanor. He is hyperaware of his feelings in ways that get repeated through the series. This is the first time we are seeing this because we didn't see the party interact much in season 1 and we still don't see all of them together much. We see Mike and Will this season. And this isn't because Lucas and Dustin don't care about him. It's that they care differently.
There is another significant change this season. We are introduced to Max and right away Dustin and Lucas are, again, set apart from Mike and Will. Dustin and Lucas are fascinated by her. They follow her around and they invite her to hang out with them. They want to be her friend because she's pretty and cool and plays video games. Mike and Will on the other hand are just not interested. Mike dismisses Lucas's fascination by saying "you don't even know her". He believes you need to get to know someone before you know if you like them. This reveals something about Mike and El, because Mike "doesn't even know her". He's known her for a week and he didn't get to know her because they were looking for Will. Mike is incredibly impatient with Lucas and Dustin and takes it out on Max. Here is where I remind you of my earlier point - don't dismiss Mike's feelings for the superficial reason. The superficial reason is that Max is replacing El in the group. This is honestly a ridiculous take. There can be more than one girl. I realize that Mike pretty much tells Max this, but if we take his grief into account it gets a little more complicated. They are 13 at this point and 13 year olds tend to not get into their feelings and trauma with each other (but there is an exception to this I will get into soon). So Lucas and Dustin seem like they moved on with their lives. They aren't affected in the same way Mike and Will are. They are fully focused on Max and getting her attention. So there is the grief reason, but there is also the sexual identity crisis reason. Lucas and Dustin are immediately attracted to Max and Mike and Will just aren't and they don't understand them. Now Will is not bothered by the group hanging out with Max. He doesn't really care if she's there. But Mike is pissed. They are trick-or-treating and she's ruining it. She's ruining their group dynamic too. And she's ruining Mike's perception of himself. Because if this girl is hanging around all the time and Lucas and Dustin are attracted to her, then what does it mean that Mike isn't? Now it could simply mean that Mike isn't attracted to this one individual girl. A valid point considering no one is attracted to every single person of the gender(s) they are attracted to. But Mike is insecure and it bothers him. To the point where he is picking yet another fight with Lucas (these two go toe-to-toe a lot). Lucas is Venkam and they can't both be Venkam. This has to do with trauma and feeling the need to control your surroundings and I will get into this more next season. But Mike also fights with Will. Because Will allowed Max to be there and didn't tell him. It bothers him that he can't control things because his feelings are so out of control. Lucas and Dustin like girls and he doesn't like the feelings this is bringing up so he tries to shut it down quickly so he doesn't have to think about it or deal with it. And Mike has never, NOT ONCE, on this whole show been shown to be ATTRACTED to girls. Not even El. He doesn't show any romantic interest in any girl and Lucas and Dustin's behavior and the way they talk about Max stands in stark contrast to the way the Mike interacted with El - and still interacts with El.
Will then has a flashback to the Upside Down and starts calling for Mike. Mike is frantic when he finds him (it's worth noting here that El also called for Mike in the Upside Down earlier in the season, too. He doesn't find her. Those two are full of missed connections). Mike decides to take Will home (by which he means his home, not Will's) and he is incredibly snippy with Dustin when he tries to help. Dustin is visibly surprised by this. Mike is being territorial of Will and it's further proof that Dustin and Lucas do not see what this relationship is actually like because it's private. Further evidence - Mike and Will have what is the first of many heart-to-hearts. Will explains how he's feeling when he gets flashes and says he feels alone. And Mike reassures him by bring up El and saying that she would understand. This makes Will feel better - he looks relieved and reassured. He isn't so different after all. And Mike realizes he now has a place to process his grief. The two of them have an emotionally mature conversation about their trauma and create a safe space to talk about it with each other free of judgement. We typically don't see 13 year olds having conversations like this. Will is the only person Mike can talk to like this. We never see him have these conversations with anyone else. Will is able to talk to Jonathan too, but it's clear Mikes confidence is appreciated here. He asks him not to tell the others - their relationship is private. Mike also indicates during this conversation that he thinks he's going crazy because he swears he sees El everywhere. Again, this is grief and WE HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE last season. Hopper tells a grieving Joyce that he swore he saw his daughter Sarah everywhere after she died. He thought he was going crazy too. Hopper comforts Joyce, and Will and Mike comfort each other. These moments are meant to be comparisons. Everyone is grieving. Joyce sees Will, Hopper sees Sarah, and Mike sees El. It puts Mike, once again, in a parental role towards El. Now the audience knows that El is alive but we also know that she hasn't been wandering around town. The first time she defies Hoppers "don't be stupid" rule is on screen. So Mike has not been seeing her around town. The exception being when she actually left and Mike thought he saw her in the school. He did but then he gets distracted - Will is missing.

What monster are you? doppelgänger, Frankenstein’s, ghost, headless rider, incubus/succubus, mummy, pumpkinhead, skeleton, vampire, werewolf, witch, zombie, other. (Start thinking about your supernatural capabilities.)
Choose your number from 2 to 5. A low number means you’re better at TRICK (slinking, skulking, spooking, scaring, killing). A high number means you’re better at TREAT (boldness, bluntness, upfrontness, playing nice, passing as human).
Write down your character’s name, monster type, pronouns (if any), and number on an index card so everyone can see them.
Players: Choose a Scenario
Decide as a group: You’re trying to
thwart an evil plot,
get revenge on someone,
escape from the human world, or
live it up for a night!
How’d you all end up with each other? What do you already know? What’s the plan? And if it’s not already obvious, why do you need to traverse the human world?
Decide for yourself: What’s your personal stake in this?
What does the evil threaten that you care about?
What’d they do to get on your bad side?
What’s waiting for you back home?
What’s one quintessential human experience you can’t wait to try?
Rolling the Dice
When you do something risky, roll 1d6. You roll +1d if you’re using supernatural gifts (a witch’s magic, a werewolf’s teeth and claws, a succubus’ seduction, etc.) and +1d if you’re taking the initiative (being proactive, not just reacting to danger).
If you’re TRICKing (acting in the shadows), you’re trying to roll above your number.
If you’re TREATing (acting in the light), you’re trying to roll below your number.
Each success is a hit.
If you roll 0 hits, something goes wrong. Brace for the worst.
With 1 hit, you barely manage it. The GM will give you an added complication, harm, or cost.
With 2 hits, you do it well. Good job!
With 3+ hits, not only do you do it well, but you also get some extra bonus effect of the GM’s choice.
Rolling your number exactly is TRICK OR TREAT: you gain a special insight into what’s going on. Ask the GM a question and they’ll answer honestly.
Some good questions: What do they know? Who’s behind this? How could I get them to [BLANK]? What should I be on the lookout for? What’s the best way to [BLANK}? What’s really going on here?
(A roll of TRICK OR TREAT counts as a success.)
When you help someone out or act as a group, each person rolls individually. The number of hits equals the number of people who rolled at least one success on their dice.
GM: Run the Game
Set scenes, roleplay as NPCs, give players challenges to overcome, and adjudicate the rules in the service of fun.
Start by giving the players a lead based on the scenario they chose: some immediate task or relevant info to help orient them at the start of play.
Call for rolls when it makes sense. Interpret the results as the dice dictate; don’t pre-plan outcomes. Let no roll go to waste: even failures should push the narrative forward in new and interesting directions.
Before something bad happens to the characters, show signs that it’s about to happen, then ask them what they do. (“The Pumpkin Queen rushes you, her blade crackling with dark magic. What do you do?” “After you reattach your eyeballs, you see a shocked little boy staring at you—he looks like he’s about to scream. What do you do?”)
Ending the Game
Call it a night when you succeed at your goal or reach an appropriate cliffhanger. If you’re playing more than one session, you can increase or decrease your number by 1 in between sessions (min. 2, max. 5).
If you’re discovered as monster, you attract a mob and are defeated (killed, exorcised, captured for government experiments, etc.). You can also be defeated by other monsters. Either way, you can make a new character to keep playing—as long as your friends are still alive.

If you replace a poc with someone else, lets say another minority, and it is obvious that they r a minority, like they r wearing pride flag stuff, they're wearing a hijab, etc. and something vague that someone says about that person, like. idk. about them not being the kinda person you should hang around with. and you would call that person homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic, etc. for saying that about the person? It isn't bigotry. If the statement could be applied to anyone. Then it isn't bigotry.
Yes this is about Billy Hargrove. Also YOU GUYS HAVE NO CLUE WHAT CONTEXT MEANS AND IT SHOWS. Max literally yelled at Lucas IN FRONT OF BILLY. HE WAS LIKE 20 FEET AWAY WATCHING AND LISTENING TO THE FIGHT. She yelled at him that he makes her feel like shit/that he treats her like shit. And whether u wanna admit it or not, Billy does care about Max. And even if he didn't, he is forced to take care of her. He has to be the parent. SO WHY THE HELL. After hearing that this random boy he's never met, treats his little sister who he cares about and is forced to be responsible for, like shit. Would he NOT tell her that there are some people you shouldn't be around. And that that boy is one of them. And in the Byer house where he sees her with Lucas again, AFTER HE WAS JUST ABUSED BECAUSE SHE RAN AWAY, of fucking course he's gonna target Lucas and not one of the other boys. He hasn't seen them with Max, he has no reason to thing of them as being bad influences or harmful.
And fuck no it doesn't excuse his actions or make them okay. He still attacked a 13/14 (don't remember their exact age) yr old. But nothing about his words or actions are explicitly, outwardly, whatever word u wanna use, racist. And even if he is racist (which by the way, every yt person, especially/specifically in America has institutionalized racism at the very least which takes a long time, and lots of education to break down, which isn't gonna fucking happen when u live in an abusive household where you have other things you have to focus on so you and ur kid sister don't fucking die, especially in the 80's), Max never fucking says anything about it. Even if what he said or did was racist, Max never said or did anything. Obviously I could understand her not saying anything to Billy because she might think he'd get angry. But she never goes to Lucas trying to comfort him, apologize for Billy's behavior, anything.
While I'm on the topic I might as well bring up the fact that NO ONE IN THE SHOW. EVER FUCKING TREATS LUCAS WITH RESPECT OR UNDERSTANDING IN RELATION TO HIS STRUGGLES WITH BEING A BLACK TEENAGER IN THE 80'S. In season 1, he gets SO MUCH shit from the fandom for not trusting Jane/El. A random girl who showed up out of no where, who, through no fault of her own, brings a bunch of dangerous ppl coming after the group. And basically no one gives Mike any shit for doing the same thing to Max in season 2. In season 4 when he is trying to fit in, to not be seen as a weirdo, outcast, freak, etc. So fucking many people treated him like he's an asshole for that. He is a black 15 yr old boy in the fucking 80's. In a town that is predominantly white. Where all of his friends are white. Most of the people at his school, are white. Of fucking course he's gonna do whatever he can to "fit in" and stay with the popular crowd. Not doing that would put even more of a target on his back. I'm so happy they put in that brief moment at Benny's where the only other black person on the team and at the house comes over to tell him it will be okay after the police show up. That he's not gonna be in trouble. Despite a good portion of the fandom being really diverse, be it queer, poc, etc. so many of y'all put the cishet yt characters on a pedestal and either ignore or straight up shit on the few queer characters & poc characters.

Ok so I feel like whenever someone makes a post on like…accessabiltiy surff you get a bunch of people saying like “I have (x) can I use this?” Or like a bunch of people apologizing for stuff they clearly need.
So like upfront imma say this. If big stalls improve your life in ANY way, any way at all, use them. They would not improve an abled’s life what so ever, and if it improves your life, you are 100% worthy of using it. Invisible conditions, mental conditions, just physically being too wide for a small stall, I don’t care. Use it. Everyone’s quality of life is important, including yours.
Also I know this post is long, but I don’t feel like…yk answering a bunch of questions about this so I’m gonna try and answer the ones I’m able to anticipate, but that being said, please do ask questions. Just be nice and make sure you read the whole psot first
Ok? Ok. Let’s get to the post
So this psot is specifically about the big bathroom stalls in the multi stall bathrooms. Not the signle stall family ones.
I feel like a lot of ppl who have never needed the big stall jsut don’t understand how important it is to keep it clear for someone who does need it. Because here’s the thing.
In my book? If you don’t need the stall, don’t use it under any circumstances UNLESS:
1. You are about to have an accident/be late to something important and everything else is full
2. You need to change a baby and the thin stalls are too thin for that
3. You are a caretaker for someone who does need that stall
Think of the big stall as equivalent to the bathroom of opposite gender. You wouldn’t just walk in if you didn’t apsolutly have any other choice.
(Obviously with some trans and NB ppl this either doesn’t apply or whatever but if this analogy works for some it’s worth putting it in)
Now, some ppl may read that and think that I may be too strict here. But I’m not. Here’s why.
See, what not a lot of ppl really know about us is that…when you’re the kind of person who needs that big stall, you most likely waited a long long time before getting up. Because getting up can be painful, difficult, exhausting, etc. meaning that not only could you jsut be making us wait in general, you could be making us experience a lot of pain because it fucknig hurts to hold it in. And that’s ON TOP of our preexisting conditions too
Secondly, sometimes these conditions can cause people to need to go right away! Incontinence, bladder/bowel problems reallt arnt as rare as people seam to think.
And even beyond that, my very fun nerve disorder does this thing where sometimes my bladder is completely numb and then I only realize I have to pee when I have like…15 mins max before I piss myself.
Another fun thing it likes to do? It ALSO likes to make my urethra burn for no fucking reason and the only thing I can possibly do to make it go away is to pee!!
Thankfully, I’m usually able to exist without mobility aids. But sometimes? I’m not. So keep the damn stall clear.
Alos, here’s a comment that actually inspired thsi psot. It’s on a quora question asking if disabled ppl should get priority for big stalls.

Some ppl may think this is reasonable—it isn’t.
1. How can you KNOW there isn’t a disabled person waiting? Not all disablities are visable
2. What if a disabled person coems in once the abled begins to use it?
Also I just wanna say again. Not all disabilities are visable. If you see an “abled” person using a accessible stall, don’t say a damn thing. Don’t. I don’t care what amazing one liner your prepared for this occasion. I don’t care about whatever vigilante justice you think you are doing. Because they are probably disabled and tired of y’all’s shit.
I know this post is being very, very angry about ppl who hog our stuff. But in the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a crime or anything outwardly horrible. The world won’t burst into flames on the off chance that person using the stall was truly abled.
All I’m asking is for people who don’t need this stall to really take in what I say and at least think about it.
Also I listed a lot of sanarios and such about us needing a stall quickly. Although that’s not true ALL the time for us, it’s ture for us wayyyy more than it is for y’all. So that’s why I put emphasis on it

Send me two characters and I will tell you what my ideal ship dynamic is for these characters!
Oh, now this is a special one, because my enjoyment of the concept hinges on very specific requirements. All of these have to heavily apply, or I’m not interested.
1) We must keep in mind that Risotto Nero is the appointed leader of the assassins in Passione, and all the responsibility that come with this position;
2) Risotto, in spite of the above, should still be considered a fairly down-to-earth person who killed to avenge a loved one, and had no choice but to lurk in the underground and take on hits to survive; and
3) Prosciutto must be eldritch being first, human second. I have already touched upon this for the Promaggio ask as a key component, but here we must crank up the volume to max. We must let him reach full uncanny valley potential.
Why? Because it’s more interesting this way.
I want to paint you all a picture. Imagine being Risotto Nero, recently appointed as the leader of the assassins. You used to work solo to survive, but over time you incurred enough favor to actually be employed by the mafia and get your own team! You are already massive and your ability is terrifying (permanently ignoring haters who say the average human body only has a nail’s worth of iron was the best decision you’ve ever made). None of your current teammates come close to what you can do. You have every reason to hold your head high and feel in control of your new life in Passione.
And then one day, this bleach blond Barbie doll shows up on your doorstep. He looks like somebody cut him out of a fashion magazine, but you don’t want to judge the book by its cover, so you let him join your team, and though your hopes are not too high for someone this delicate, you send him to Polpo to get tested.
Within 24 hours, Prosciutto tests positive for Cosmic Horror. He shows you the manifestation of his soul, and it’s so abominable it makes Metallica look adorable in comparison. He tells you his ability and gives you a taste of it, just a ten second demonstration, and your shrivelled ass quickly realizes that if the two of your ever clashed in earnest, Prosciutto would walk away with injuries, sure, but he’d leave you and the entire neighborhood population crumbled into ashes. Does he have any qualms about wielding the power of a mass Grim Reaper? You can’t tell because he’s new, but something about the look in his eyes says he’s full of death and fresh out of fucks to give.
You are head assassin and team leader Risotto Nero, and the Angel of Death is now your responsibility. You are his superior and he is your subordinate, so you are accountable for everything he does as a member of your team.
From that day, I want Risotto to live in a constant state of religious terror as Prosciutto seamlessly integrates himself into the team, knowing with every fiber of his being that the only thing that keeps this Manic Eldritch Nightmare Twink from murdering everyone in a 250 meter radius is that he’s professional, nice even. Prosciutto follows his orders not because Risotto has the means to reinforce the rules, but because they are orders he thinks are worth following. He takes care of affairs and missions and his own teammates, not because he needs any of this, but because he now considers it his job and he is one committed son of a bitch. He is one of a kind to be sure, and Risotto doesn’t dare ask what his kind is.
Eventually I want Risotto to confess his extremely mixed feelings, where he has come to confuse existential dread with arousal, but his desire to stay on Prosciutto’s good side and his wish to service him in any way he can for the team’s sake is genuine. Prosciutto finally lowers his morning newspaper and just says “That’s crazy” because he doesn’t know what else to tell this guy. Risotto thus settles for eating cunt everyday like a boss, as a boss, and nobody says a word about it; he’s technically a monsterfucker now and there’s not a goddamn thing anyone is willing to do about that, because Prosciutto deserves something good for all the effort he voluntarily puts in to make all of this work.
You give me this or give me nothing.

ive been a little frustrated in these latter years of my fine arts major because theres this weird... contradiction? discrepancy? something like that...
but like i've got like only two modes of making art really: 1) fuck around mode and 2) drawing my ocs like im a 10 year old on deviantart in 2008 mode AND LIKE okay Fuck Around Mode is just like. trying weird techniques for the sake of trying weird techniques - its very fun and i learn a lot that can be incorporated into the second mode and i mean i like the things i make in Fuck Around Mode they're nice and neat but like. theres no passion behind it except for THE PASSION OF THE GAME..... you know? im just playing ball with that art, i don't think all that much about my Fuck Around Mode pieces after im done making them until i need something for a portfolio or something LOL and to be honest i dont put all that much effort into it.....
but that leads into my '08 OC Mode where i do, in fact, pour my entire heart and soul in making images and pieces of art..... of just like an edgy angel oc or something. i do include techniques from Fuck Around Mode so they often get pretty interesting! but the subject of the piece is no longer "I Don't Really Care I Just Want To see What Happens If I Do This" and is instead. an anime boy i made up when i was 19. and i really do love the work i make in this mode, it means so much to me truly
but this is where the discrepancy i havent been able to grapple with quite yet comes in: to the IRL layman and to the citizens of the internet, both professional artists and otherwise, my '08 OC Mode is pretty strongly engaged with compared to any Fuck Around Mode stuff i put out there, even if people dont like it they take it seriously and earnestly you know!! but the second i step into school its the opposite - my teachers and peers seem to adore the Fuck Around pieces and many Do Not give a shit about the rest until i really push em to actually look at them.... its kind of bizarre.
i like getting critiques and i like when people interpret my art in whatever ways but its a bit frustrating when instead of giving useful advice on what to improve technically or compositionally or whatever i just get people ascribing passion and personal intent at art where there is very little.
where was that post of the comic where someones showing their art with all their heart and the other person says "this lacks truth" and the first person beats them up. i do feel a little like that LOL
i know not everything i make will always be effective at conveying the personal truths i put in to them, and effort put in does not have to equal an audience resonating with a piece: 2 minute doodle getting a million views and a 4 hour painting getting like 3 max online is a tale as old as time after all and i never minded it LOL i kind of post art on the internet using the same method as the wonderful ms paint fetish artist on deviantart who has been posting for 15 years without fail -> just keep posting what i do and what i like whenever i feel like it and whoever is interested will find me sooner or later <3
but it is a different feeling getting the IRL academic equivalent of this...... maybe its just the way the community in my faculty has been shifting? I've noticed there is like, an assumption, a bit among my undergraduate peers but mostly among professors and graduate students, that the reason one makes art is because they have something specific, clear, and pointed to tell the world. i do not make art because of that. i make art because i need to get it out of me.
i like it if a viewer can get something out of it, anything, whatever it is. im a big loud alien beast of a person like everyone else, desperate for connection and understanding only to be stopped by the barriers between molecules and atoms and everything as usual. but still i cannot make art with the intention to connect with others, with the express goal and desire to understand and converse and comprehend. i can only draw a cartoon character shoulders up facing three-quarters to the left.

about mileven and lumax romantic relationships
As funny as it sounds, Mike only LIKES THE IDEA of having a romantic relationship with a girl. The main feelings that led him to fall in love at the age of 12 were the desire to take care of El (since caring for someone is a key quality of Mike's personality) and his sincere admiration for her superhero powers (and it is important that Mike always compared her not with female superheroes, but with a general group of superheroes such as X-men or with male characters -- Green Lantern, Superman -- while even Argyle called El "supergirl").
I'm talking about "the idea" here because Mike has no idea what it really means to be in a romantic relationship with someone. From childhood, he is closed in his own world, consisting of parents and the Party. Parents cannot give him a good example of relationships, because they have not had these relationships for a long time -- they are cold to each other. Mike communicates with his sister only in the form of petty quarrels (although Nancy in seasons 1 and 2 is also just exploring this topic). The Party, for obvious reasons, cannot give him any information.
In opposition to him, we have Lucas and Max, who can build relatively healthy (adjusted for adolescence) relationships with each other. But they, unlike Mike and El, have a number of differences that allow them to do this.
First, they can be friends even without romance. Lucas and Max can be friends based on common hobbies. Mike and El do not have common interests: for the whole of season 1, we were shown that El was not interested in what Mike told her about his life, and further, until the end of season 3, this trend will continue.
Secondly, Lucas and Max constantly quarrel and are not afraid of these. In their quarrels, the couple gets used to each other's differences, find out their personal boundaries, and the fact that they return to each other again and again after these quarrels shows us that teenagers still want to be with each other despite the differences. Mike is afraid to quarrel with El because of her superpowers. He knows what she is capable of, and consciously keeps this relationship as much as possible in the "safe zone". We can see how frightened Mike can be by El's displeasure during their breakup at the bike park. For the same reason, he previously lies to El about his grandmother on the phone, as he is afraid to face her displeasure face to face.
Thirdly, Lucas has before his eyes an example of parents who love and support each other, from whom he can ask for advice in a relationship. And parents will share their experience with him. I can’t say that his parents’ relationship is perfect, but the Sinclairs know how to find a compromise and at the same time continue to love each other, unlike the Wheelers. Max's parents divorced when she was young and her family is quite dysfunctional. But we were shown that she has a pretty warm relationship with her mother no matter what. Plus, both Lucas and Max have been an active part of society since childhood (unlike El).
That's why in season 3, Lucas is Mike's "romantic guide" without whom Mike is completely lost. But all the mechanisms that Lucas uses in his relationship do not work with El, because El is not Max, and Mike is not Lucas.
And so Mike continues to stagnate all 3 and 4 seasons, not understanding what to do. He takes other people's opinions about his relationship with El (Hopper, Lucas, Will), and thus relieves himself of responsibility for them. He shows his complete unwillingness to be in a serious relationship with someone -- and especially with El, since the girl herself does not understand what relationships with people are, and even more so "romantic relationships" with someone.

Max Mayfield & Disability
*SPOILERS FOR STRANGER THINGS 4 VOL 2*
I’ve seen a lot of people having discourse about max’s injuries and how she could very well end up permanently disabled next season. As a person with a physical disability I have some thoughts.
1. I am conflicted on a non-disabled person playing a disabled character and having the possibility of representation.
All right so I firmly believe that if you were going to write a disabled character or incorporate a disabled character into media. A disabled person should take that role, however in Max Mayfield‘s case she was not a disabled character she would become disabled. So in this case I don’t think that logic would apply, because as we know anyone can become disabled at any time. The only thing I would be afraid of is falling into the social model of disability. Which usually goes one of two ways: the I-hate-my life-I am worthless-and-a-burden-to-everyone-around-me OR the this-person-is-such-an-inspiration-for-dealing- with- a - world-that-wasn’t-made-to-include-them-but-I- don’t-care-to help-change-it. if they decide to make Max disabled(most likely some sort of blindness) then they need to make her real. Not someone that can be used as a token disabled person for inspiration or a self deprecating person that thinks being disabled is the worst thing in the world. they need to really do their research on this and do true justice to that storyline.
2.  I’m worried for the guaranteed ableism that will come with making her disabled.
I’ve seen a lot of people be very ableist on Twitter and TikTok. Saying that they should just put her out of her misery instead of making her disabled. As if that is the worst thing that could happen to her compared to all the trauma she just faced. The writers need to be prepared to handle that within Max‘s storyline. If they’re really gonna do it they need to be vigilant and aware. They need to make it known that just because you’re disabled does not mean that you would be better off dead. Although if I’m being completely honest the world is very ableist but especially the media so I doubt that this would happen but if it did it would help make max’s storyline more impactful and real. It would avoid stereotypes.
3. I’m not saying that Max is not going to struggle because she is,a lot.���
It’s gonna be hard to adjust. Going from a fully able-bodied person to a disabled person on top of all the supernatural stuff going on is a lot. She’s not going to be completely content or happy but I don’t want her to be completely self deprecating either. Not only because it would fit into stereotypes but also because I feel it would do a disservice to her character. Since she first came on the show in season two she has been self-sufficient, confident, honest, caring, and brave. I feel as though Max would know even if she’s having a hard time adjusting deep down she would know that she’s still a bad ass. 
4. I really hope that they do not introduce any ableist slurs in the show because nobody needs those.
I have a sneaking suspicion that if they were to go the disabled route. Max would eventually have to deal with ableism in the form of slurs or may be being made fun of and I have to say we don’t need it. We don’t need to hear Max enduring slurs to get the point across. I know that this show is currently in the late 1980s and people said these horrible things and still continue to say them but don’t do it. I really hope that they don’t do it because it’s ugly and there’s a lot of other shit going on. There are other ways to portray that. Such as inaccessibility that people usually wouldn’t think of. architecture for example would be a great point or maybe how people infantilize disabled people. Literally anything except that. (Speaking of which they did not have to have Lucas and Erica being basically hate crimed this season that was unnecessary. Especially with the whole gun thing)
5. Although I have my reservations about how a disabled Max would be portrayed, having a positive romantic relationship for a person with a disability would be amazing.
Lumax is one of the best ships I have ever seen. Their dynamic and depth is something so special because they’re a lot more subtle. However that subtlety is very impactful. We see their connection and their friendship without ever having to explicitly say it. However I think it would need to be said or shown explicitly, because while I do love their subtlety they deserve to love more openly. Seeing it on screen would be wonderful.Lucas loves Max and vice versa. He would never leave her side, he would always support her, and I know for a fact he would love her no matter what. Seeing this type of positive relationship would do so much for representation (as well as the ship in general). Solidifying their relationship and literally having them stick together through anything. It would just be so nice to see and I think it would fit their characters and the characters relationship really well.
6. There shouldn’t be a miraculous cure when they defeat vecna and save the world.
I know a lot of people have been saying that if they go this route they would like for Max to be healed by Jane/El. I think that would be a disservice because many disabled people do not want to be cured myself included. Many of us have never felt like we needed to be different or “normal”. I do wanna stress however that if you are disabled it is completely fine to feel that way, but to assume that every disabled person feels that way is wrong. It would be going about the storyline wrong. They have an opportunity here to do something great for representation and take a positive realistic approach. If they’re going to do it they need to be all in completely. Because for them to have her magically undisabled would be feeding into stereotypes and would be ableist in itself.
These are just my immediate thoughts, since I’ve seen discourse about it and ableist discourse at that. you don’t have to agree with me and for my fellow disabled people feel free to chime in and let me know your thoughts. For my non-disabled people, especially those that think Max would be better off dead than disabled, this conversation isn’t for you and it would be best if you listen and learn. I hope that anyone that sees this maybe thinks a little longer about how/what max being disabled would look like and maybe that you assess your own unconscious ableism. Because at the end of the day the majority of ableism isn’t your fault. You’ve grown up in a world that has made these jokes, has made inaccessibility, etc. normal. It is your job however to recognize and correct it. I hope this helped.
I love Max and I think she has so much potential for this last season coming up. Her arc in season four was just amazing, and I can’t wait to see where they take her. I just wanted to make sure that people knew if they go this route they should do it the right way.

Good Boy, Part 3 - (The Black Phone Fic, hurt!Finney Shaw)

Summary: The Grabber only wanted to play Naughty Boy. He didn’t actually want a Naughty Boy. No, the Grabber wanted a Good Boy, a Sweet Boy, a Loving Boy.
And Finn is prepared to be anything he needs to survive.
Warnings: Child abuse, child grooming, inappropriate relationship between adult and minor, non-consensual voyeurism, a kidnapped child is forced to do whatever his kidnapper wants. Anything that is done or implied in the movie also takes place in this fic.
The new room is nicer, obviously, than the basement, but Finney would go back to the dark, cold basement if he could.
That’s where the phone is.
Not that Finney thinks it would work still, after he ripped it from the wall and filled it with dirt. He had dropped it when the Grabber had swung his ax. But if he could go back to the basement and be able to talk to someone, anyone, dead or alive, he would.
It doesn’t even have to be Robin.
He never figured out how the other boys managed to talk to him through the phone, the same way he never figured out how Gwen dreams about real events or the same way he never figured out what his mother was able to see.
The only person he speaks to these days is the Grabber. He leaves for hours at a time, the bedroom door locked behind him, and comes back at, well... Finney doesn’t know when. There is no clock in the room, no windows for him to see a setting or rising sun. He comes back after Finney has spent hours looking at the wall.
When the Grabber returns, he makes them food. He asks Finney questions about himself. What he likes to eat, does he enjoy cooking, how does he like it here, is there anything he needs. Like it’s some sort of vacation house.
The Grabber talks about himself too. How his day was, but never any details as to what he did, his favorite foods, how his brother is doing.
“You’ll meet Max one day.” The Grabber says to him. They are laying in bed, one of his heavy arms draped over Finney’s chest. “I’ve told him I’ve started seeing someone and he’s so happy for me. He’s always so easily excited, but he should be excited about this.” The Grabber chuckles in the dark and the vibrations in his chest can be felt against Finney’s shoulder.
“You love him?” Finney asks. Not because he cares, but because he can tell the Grabber wants him to ask more, to be interested in him.
“Of course.” The Grabber huffs and his grip on Finney tightens. “He’s my brother. Don’t you love Gwen?”
Finney flinches at her name, but the Grabber doesn’t comment on it. The papers had mentioned Gwen when talking about his disappearance. They had mentioned his shitty father and dead mother too, all pieces of information Finney would have never told this man.
“Yes,” Finney says quickly because they’re not talking about Gwen, he can’t, the Grabber shouldn’t know anything about her, shouldn’t even know she exists. “When can I meet Max?”
“When you’re older, baby, in a few years.” The Graber relaxes his grip and he strokes Finney’s shoulder. “When you’re a little more grown up. I don’t...I don’t think he’d understand right now.”
At first, Finney thinks he means Max won’t understand his brother kidnapping someone and starving them and beating them and keeping them prisoner and it’s the first time the Grabber has shown any understanding that what he’s doing is wrong.
But then the Grabber keeps speaking. “Not because you’re a boy. Max wouldn’t care about that. We’ll just need to wait until you’re 18.”
Finney swallows thickly. The idea of being here until he’s 18 is torturous.
“When is that, by the way?”
“When is what?”
“Your birthday, silly.”
Finney had tried lying once before, about his name. It didn’t work well for him. He doesn’t want to spend his birthday with this man, his birthday should be saved for Gwen and the sad cake she tries to make for him every year since mom died. It should be saved for her letting him pick what’s on TV and doing his chores for him and the little bracelets she makes for him.
“July 10th.”
"Just a little less than four years then.” The Grabber mumbles. “Max will understand then.”
Finney just needs to talk to someone who’s not him. He’s going to go insane.

Silly Headcanons: Super Pal Trio vs. Best Friend Squad, Airplane Travel
I don’t know where I’m gonna use this if ever in a fic so here you go. 
Under a cut because it is hilariously long.
SPT is always running late to their flight. They choose early morning or late night flights to reduce the amount of people they have to deal with, and it’s the only reason they still make it to their plane before it leaves. Just, without fail, they will always run up right as they do the “last call for boarding parties A-D for flight 12345”.
This is in part because one of them always gets stopped for a “random” check at security. Usually it’s Entrapta because she forgot she has something metallic on her person, but Scorpia often gets stopped because when she’s tired and in go mode her resting bitch face is impressive and intimidating. Combine that with her size and stinger and someone wants to stop her for a quick double check. Catra also gets checked but less frequently, usually because she is “acting suspicious” (aka slinking around and looking around a lot because god fuck she hates the whole flying process from start to finish) or because half asleep she said something snarky that can be taken horribly.
Side note: Yes, I think Scorpia’s actual resting face is bitch face. But she knows that being a scorpioni means she has to be smiling to look non-threatening. She’s a genuinely nice person so she likes to smile too, but it is also performative so other people aren’t scared of her.
Even when they are running late, Entrapta somehow manages to buy them snacks and drinks for the flight after security. (Okay look, she grabs and drops more money than her purchases are worth, with her hair doing the heavy lifting and running, shush.)
SPT prefers to sit in a 3 seat row to get the max comfs for them all. They are very clingy once on the plane so it’s really the best for everyone. If they have to do a 2-1 set up Catra will be in the single seat and Entrapta gets squished against the window while Scorpia gets aisle. If they end up in a 2-5-2 seat row situation Entrapta will be squished against the window while Catra gets aisle on the two seats. Scorpia gets the aisle on the 5 across from them because she deals the best with strangers and can become friends with whoever she’s seated with (the number of friends she legitimately keeps in contact with after meeting on a plane is 100% of them).
Let’s focus on the 3 seat row ideal.
Scorpia will take one aisle seat because she needs the extra room to not feel like her legs are going to snap in two. She always has the arm rest(s) up if she can because she doesn’t quite fit in the seat and it can be painful otherwise. Scorpia has to slump in her seat to not hit her head, so the aisle lets her do that without crunching into a tiny miserable ball. She likes to read or knit while they are flying but always has Entrapta operate her light and personal air. They are just so tiny and delicate and fiddly that she could break them. Scorpia happily eats ALL of the SPT’s free snacks (with few exceptions that Entrapta can stand in which case Scorpia will eat Catra’s free snacks because she is extra finicky while flying). One (1) time the trio got an upgrade to business class and Scorpia straight up cried because it was so much nicer of an experience. The flight attendants (with permission granted) got a lot of great hugs on that flight.
Catra takes the other aisle seat because she feels claustrophobic otherwise. She needs to trick her brain into thinking there’s an escape route in case she needs to run. Yes, she is aware that she will be in a metal tube thousands of feet in the sky so “escape” and “run” are limited. Her brain Does Not Care about that, she just needs to not feel blocked in. She will lift the inner arm seat so Entrapta can sit in all sorts of weird configurations. Their deal is that Entrapta will use her hair as a buffer between them because while stressed out about the whole being in a metal tube thousands of feet in the air where she cannot escape and they could all die thing Catra doesn’t wanna be touched. She will eat only when semi-forced to on long flights (anything 3+ hours) but it needs to be particular food stuffs or else she will end up using a barf bag or in the plane toilet. God she hates the plan toilets.
Side note: hilariously Catra does worse on take off than landing, because when she was really little she learned about the way planes can sometimes crash while trying to take off because of wind tomfuckery the night before she got on her first plane. Landing she doesn’t really mind, plus it means she is getting off the plane thank the stars!
Entrapta needs the middle seat; she wants to feel a little crunched or crushed in. Planes feel weirdly exposed to her on an aisle seat so hiding between two people she trusts is *chef’s kiss*. Entrapta will always kick off her shoes to put her feet on the cushion with her and often sits sideways in her seat to talk with Scorpia or tunelessly hum while patting Catra with her hair. Her favorite part of flying is reading the sky mall magazine and tearing the rich person bullshit technology apart viciously and with no remorse. She spends most of the flight consuming the snacks she bought while curling into the tightest ball possible. If she needs to get out to use the restroom she can use her hair to easily haul herself over Catra.
Side note: Look, she may be a whizz at getting things connected SAFELY online and UNTRACEABLY when possible, but Entrapta is also the kind of person who will shoot her printer if it beeps at her funny. There is nothing connected online in her personal spaces except for her phone.
SPT is usually one of the last groups off the plane because 1: they do not want to touch another person while trying to leave thank you and 2: Catra is a little frozen in her seat afterwards so while Scorpia is stretching and popping to get her body in roughly the right shape again, Entrapta is convincing Catra to get up.
Once off the plane, they get their luggage and will then go eat. If the terminal has vending machine food (like real food not snacks) it’s what they prefer to get. Otherwise they’ll hit the cheapest food in the terminal before leaving. At this point Catra will be forced to eat whether she wants to or not. Hangry Catra is no one’s friend.

The BFS is always painfully early for their flights. This is due mostly to Adora needing them to be early because being early is being on time, so you have to be early to being early, but it’s also for a flight and you never know how long security will take so you need to be early to being early to be early (which is on time). It’s also due to Glimmer taking forever because she always remembers something she forgot to pack at the last second, so they plan in time for that too. 
2 hours early crowd, can I get a woot woot?
They prefer early morning flights (okay Adora prefers them) because they are usually on schedule compared to later flights. But Glimmer is Not a Morning Person so when they can go as early as Adora wants someone basically ends up on “Carry Glimmer Duty”. She doesn’t mean to fall asleep but she does.
Side note: the number of video’s Adora and Bow have of Glimmer snoring away only to wake up because they are giggle and grumble, “Shut the fuck up.” before snoring away again within seconds is Far Too Many. It is tradition to take at least one video of this for early flights and post online. Glimmer is aware of this and approves because she would live stream it if their positions were reversed.
Because of how early they get there, the BFS always gets a light meal and a drink before boarding. Usually they get a pastry and coffee/tea, but if it’s midday they are happy to stop for a small salad or sandwich somewhere. Bow forces them all to drink at least one full glass of pure water at this time and then they all troop off the bathroom to avoid using the one on the plane.
If there is enough time after that they might go find an amenity. If they have access to a VIP area they’ll go there for their light meal and relax, or they’ll use massage chairs, peruse the shops, get a haircut, etc. (Bow likes having a fresh looking cut at all times, he goes to his barber once every 1-2 weeks to keep it looking good, but he will break and use an airport shop if needed. Adora tried one time and was so itchy from the hair afterwards that she vowed to never do it again. Glimmer thinks they are crazy she is not letting anyone but her stylist at her salon touch her hair.)
They usually fly business class or extended economy because of how tall Adora is and frankly how spoiled Glimmer is so they are pretty early in the boarding process. They don’t really care what the configuration is, because all three want the window seat. BFS has a rotating schedule for who gets it, so they can make any combo work since leg room isn’t an issue.
Adora is actually super relaxed once they are boarded because she no longer has any control over the situation. She always passes out instantly once in the air and is grateful to her friends for waking her up for her favorite part of flying, the free snacks and airline coffee. She loves airline coffee, and hotel coffee (the kind you make in your room). It isn’t usually great coffee but it tastes like traveling and vacations and she loves it. Once consumed she passes back out. 
Side note: Adora used to fly a lot as a kid to visit family back in Russia so she is very used to long flight and finds airplane sounds soothing. In fact, she has a noise maker app specifically to mimic the sounds of air travel and likes to sleep in pretty cold conditions too. Her dad always complained about the cold on the plane, and her mom (although also a little chilled because she grew up in Texas) will claim she is perfectly comfortable. Maybe it’s the Russian genes, Randor. Maybe we are strong and awesome and you are sad and not? Adora still takes a bit too much pride in being part of the Shorts All Year ‘Round Gang.
Bow is the most nervous of them when flying, but he’s still pretty average for it. He’s not a fan of landings and turbulence can make him go silent as he begins to nervously eat away his anxiety. His ears are sensitive to pressure changes so he chews a lot of gum on take off and landing, and has the special flight ear plugs to help out. He likes looking through sky mall to get ideas for better inventions or ideas to look into (he is more sleek apple tech kinda dude, they have a lot of smart technology around the house) and talking with Glimmer. Which is necessary because Adora’s sleepy sounds are just so cute and soothing that he will fall asleep otherwise. Bow always orders a glass of water while flying because of dehydration concerns and shares his snacks with Adora. He gets chilled easily and usually wraps himself up in his travel blanket and neck pillow for comfort.
Glimmer is B.O.R.E.D. by flying after traveling so much with her mom and dad. She prefers to spend the trip watching a movie or show in flight with headphones, but Bow usually wants to talk so she does that instead. She has a specific air travel outfit she wears for maximum comfiness, but doesn’t need anything specific. She will always get a mini when flying to put in her coffee or soda, yes Bow she knows it’s not good because of dehydration and pressurization or whatever but by god she wants it and she will have it no matter the time of day or night! Glimmer’s favorite part about flying is snuggling her friends, which only wins over kicking Adora awake for snacks by a hair. She doesn’t really like all the noises and sounds, she finds it difficult to concentrate on what Bow is saying over it, but Bow often brings something for her to fidget with which can help a little bit.
When they get off the plane if they are hungry they’ll stop for food, otherwise Adora will dart into a store to buy a snack because she is always hungry. Once off the plane the BFS just wants OUT of the terminal. They’ll collect their bags and get the hell outta dodge.

Unit Teambuilding - Anabel
Did you know that Anabel is listed as Alolan?  The Kalos VA got one of its units designated to Alola.  That’s rough, buddy.  Hoenn had similar with Looker being Sinnoh, I guess.  It still stings, given how much help Kalos needed.  But hey, I’ll take it.  Anabel being in here means Alola is free to have more options. Maybe Lusamine and Nihilego can be real.  But Anabel is getting something cool, right? Mega Salamence? Raikou finally gets in, completing that trio?  An Ultra Beast?!
SNORLAX? Does Anabel even use a Snorlax?  Apparently the answer is yes, it's literally the only Pokemon on every iteration of her team across Emerald and Gen 7.  Hmm.  I don't love it, but the lore has spoken.
General Overview Anabel, like Champion Calem, is a fascinating look into what happens when a unit is designed to support a specific option, rather than the meta at large.
Anabel has Headbutt, and does get Aggravation on grid, which is the best broad tool she offers.  Reflect is...a choice.  Protect is...a choice.  Her trainer move provides crit shield, status shield, special shield, and +2 attack for the team, but is notably, only 1MP.  Her passives provide +1 special defense for each use of an MP move, +20% to all stats when a field effect that only applies to the allied field are in play (note how this removes weather, terrain, and zone as possible benefits, jerks), and restores 50% HP on first use of Max Move.  Her stats are decent, hitting over 300 in both defenses, and over 800HP.  Which is a lot!  That's not bad as a tank.
Where she falls apart is...well, everything else.  There's no extension of these effects, which I think is a severe limitation, given Melony, a general pool, received such extension.  Her only other healing is Healthy Healing, and her only team-based healing is a 5/5 grid tile that's really out of the way, and reliant on her taking sync every time.  Sure, she has utility like boosting crit and Durable on trainer move, or ways to consistently boost defense in addition to special defense, or the coveted Stalwart/Unbending combo, but this ultimately accomplishes little for her, as she has few options that are accessible once accounting for the flinch rate.  Anabel just can't reach enough to feel like she stands out on paper.
So I asked myself, what is the point of this?  Why set her up in such a bizarre way?  Then I realized...it's because of Looker and Emma.  They're both really self-sufficient with their buffing, only requiring +2 attack, which she provides. Everything else is survival, which she, again, provides.  Her gauge control is bad, but Emma's giving +4 speed so who cares?  Anabel was designed to work with the family, and that's created this bizarre situation where she's kinda locked into it, and structures similar to it.  She cannot, under any circumstance, cap a stat.  Her allies need to be fully self-sufficient, and she can’t even quickly get to +2 crit, unless you use GMax Replenish too early and lose out on recovering MP from all her moves at once.  With such severe limitations, is there really a use for her?
Yes, but it’s situational.  While her kit is weak at buffing, a little bit of crit rate and attack support is sometimes all you need, and a 60% flinch rate on your support is never a bad thing.  Blocking debuffs from otherwise major threats like Azelf is huge.  And of course, her personal survival makes her incredible at tanking hits from major offensive threats like Regirock or Cobalion, having two instances of blocking damage and using Endure.  That's a lot of utility in one unit.  But moreover, anyone currently going through the horrors of Regirock this Gauntlet has probably noticed how devastating it is to have a high-powered, guaranteed crit AoE attack thrown at you.  Anabel blocks it.  Crit shield denies the guaranteed crit effect, and with the damage shield in play too, she can just blank the whole situation.  And blocking status twice?  Look who's one of the only effective answers to Cresselia's two distinct status uses.
Anabel is a very unusual unit, who doesn't seem to excel at...well, anything.  But the generalized utility she brings is quite unique, and I think the options she does have hold a lot of value.
EX and Move Level? She's support, so EX is always a great idea for the tanking.  Move level is also pretty critical, since like most supports, it's really the grid that makes things work. Otherwise you have half the flinch rate, less healing, no ability to block defense stat drops, etc.  I will shoutout 2/5 grid, though, for having healthy healing and the Stalwart/Unbending combo.  Can probably do some good with that.
Team 1: Anabel, Looker, Emma The family is assembled, this is a go-to for me now.  Anabel provides the last bit of attack they need, and a ton of defensive support.  Emma provides fantastic speed control with a quick +4 to all allies, and then any team weak to Poison is just done.
Team 2: Anabel, Kahili/Lodge Silver, Tech Farfetch'd/Tech Gyarados Anti-Bulu and anti-Entei.  Anabel has a high flinch chance, meaning she can dead lock foes that don't resist it.  Kahili and Lodge Silver have the ability to truck these fights fast enough that Anabel doesn't have to worry.  Do note, Silver requires you to have GMax Replenish for the trainer move to cap his crit.
Team 3: Anabel, SS May, Tech Magmar Anti-Cobalion. SS May is brought up because she needs +2 attack to finish her particular job, and +1 crit to get full sync benefits after just two actions.  Anabel can supply both in one move.  Tech Magmar then provides the Sun, for May to absolutely destroy Cobalion.
Team 4: Anabel, Noland/Guzma, Parasect Azelf is mostly known for being sleep-weak, but it's similarly flinch-weak too. This means Anabel can lock it down, then avoids defensive debuffs with Stalwart/Unbending.  Noland is chosen because...man there's really not many options.  Like, I'll bring up Guzma since it saves a turn buffing, but I worry about severe gauge issues with that team composition.  Parasect has Screech, and can paralyze so this technically counts as answering Cobalion and Tornadus I guess?  I’m not convinced about Torn.  It’s super flinch resistant and Anabel can’t heal allies.
Team 5: Anabel, Grimsley, Nanu/Sandslash Anti-Cresselia. See, Anabel has something quite potent, in two uses of Status Shield.   This will block Thunder Wave in the early phase, and Toxic in later phases.  The main question to ask then is...well, what do you bring to supplement?  Grimsley with Snatch deals well enough with Cresselia, but the decision between Nanu's Screech for better sync performance, or Sandslash for Trap for initial phases, needs to be considered.  Either way, you want someone who can self-buff speed, because Anabel is slooooow.
Team 6: Anabel, Palentine's Marnie, Masked Royal Time to mess Regirock the heck up.  P!Marnie needs one more point of crit, and Anabel can provide.  Marnie can self-buff her attack somewhat, but Anabel can bring it to cap without much issue.  The only real problem is speed control, which is why Masked Royal is here.  This is overkill, but like...I dunno man, it was this or I admit Marley is a better fit for Marnie here.
Team 7: Anabel, Sidney, Parasect While perhaps unusual, one thing I noticed about using Sidney in this Gauntlet was that Confuse sucks against Uxie if it's applied by attacking.  Sidney needs confuse to do anything, but Uxie grows to immunity with it.  Enter Anabel, who can cap his attack for optimal nuking conditions, but also can hit a flinch just before his sync explodes.  Parasect covers status and defense drops.
Final Thoughts I think Anabel is...interesting, but maybe not strictly good?  If that makes sense? Like my biggest issue is that Anabel has a lot of tools that look like they should do well together, but ultimately wind up falling apart a bit on close inspection. Her buff kit is outright bad, and her field effects aren't sustained long enough to matter as much.   It's just a messy set for a character who should be doing a bit better.   But oh well.  Maybe when she gets an alt in the Alola VA, right?

That's you just liking a character for being a (racist Calico Jack was fucking racist) dick. Second, I do not give a fuck about what David Jenkins said. This is about you, and the fandom, and taking "failing marriage CODED" literally. Ed and Izzy have never been romantically involved. Izzy is abusive and racist. You ship them together. I guarantee you DJ does not SHIP Ed and Izzy. Third, Stede is, in case you've fucking forgotten, the literal main character of the show. YOU personally don't want him to have disassociated because you want to keep being able to talk about what an awful piece of shit he is, but THE EVIDENCE IN CANON SUPPORTS IT. You'd rather delve into and sympathize with a character like Calico Jack--create characteristics for him that canon doesn't support--than empathize with what Stede went through. And I have a genuine question for you: what are you gonna do if the show DOES make it canon that Stede disassociated? Because David Jenkins has indicated agreement with that theory, actually.

He’s so stupid
But also lowkey has the braincell of his friend group (they’re all so fast and so so dumb)(affectionate)

He keeps just straight up losing track of everybody he cares about (most of the time it’s not his fault)
His baby twin brother got his Face And Hands Privileges taken by the government for being an anarchist in college (specifically cop college)(which is a thing that can just happen sometimes in transformers for those of y’all who don’t go there)(he dropped out after that and went full time with the anarchy)
Technically he’s kinda homeless (if he settles down he’ll forget to keep searching for one of his best friends who went missing in the war, so he just. Doesn’t.)
He works as a (robot) preschool teaching assistant on the moon
and he wanted so bad to make his boss (Forklift) proud of him that he went and got his (human) preschool teaching certificate on earth
and also got forklift certified for good measure. Just in case it was important.
Lowkey the first thing he did after fighting a massive civil war for four million years was find a random catboy (disgraced war criminal/assassin)(Sweets) in a wet box on the side of the road and go “hi! We’re friends now. You wanna go to the other side of the galaxy with me to get back to my brother and best friend?”
“Quit your job” “why” “join my emo band” (Sweets did. (He’s on bass.) They have exactly two fans.)
They kind of live together now (Hots slept on his couch for a couple nights and just never wound up leaving)
He found out about all of the war crimes and massive body count in a very emotionally charged confession moment and went “…okay but you’re my buddy so like?”
Sweets will just sit there and take anybody’s shit on that. Hot Shot will the fuck not.
he can and will try to fistfight the entire rebuilt government if they try to make Sweets face consequences for the atrocities
He was briefly his best friend’s (Flashdrive’s) supervisor on a normal job before the war. Neither of them remember this even a little bit. Even though his little brother and Flashdrive’s qpp were close friends the entire time.
They met again during the war and got assigned on one (1) singular mission together
…and got distracted and were gone for ten (10) years.
they didn’t get to work together after that.
He’s really emotional about Boulevard of Broken Dreams (and he sings the hell out of American Idiot (song and album) w the emo band despite only knowing what like half of the words mean in or out of context on account of being a ~30 robot from outer space who turns into a car)

i'm not good at articulating things so i apologize in advance. 99% of the things i consume on this app are fruity four or byler related so if someone has already put this out in the world- sorry for repeating.
Dustin Henderson's Thoughts
Season 1:
Dustin asks Will to race him home. Even though it doesn't logically make sense, he wonders if he hadn't asked him, if Will would have never gone missing.
They find "Will" in the quarry. Dustin's heart sinks. He lost his best friend. And it's his own fault. He should have known better. If Will wasn't biking so fast...
Will is alive. Taken. Maybe he would have missed it if they had just rode home like normal. Dustin put him in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Mike jumps into the quarry. For Dustin. Two of his best friends. Gone. Because of him. How could he let this happen?
Thank god for El. Thank god Joyce and Hop found Will. It would have been his fault. All he does is put his friends in danger.
Season 2:
Dustin still has his friends. But he can't risk it. He can't keep putting them in danger. Hurting him.
Dustin pushes them away. Secludes himself. He has no one. And it's better that way. At least he has Dart. He can't hurt Dart. Not like he has his friends.
Dart is too strong. And Dustin knows that it's not safe to keep him. But he can't lose someone else. Not again.
Steve Harrington. Who would have thought. It's easier with Steve. He's older. Stronger. Dustin doesn't have to worry so much about hurting him.
Still, maybe taking a break from everyone and everything would make it easier for them. Summer camp.
Season 3:
Dustin is back home. He tries to contact his friends. No one is answering. It sucks. Maybe it's for the best.
They surprise him. Maybe it will be better this time.
Mike and El. Lucas and Max. And now Will. I mean, it is late. But really? No one could stay? Did he push them too far away?
Harrington! At least someone is happy to see him. And since everyone else seems happier without him, why not go on an adventure.
Dustin misses his friends. But he knows it would be dangerous for them to be involved in all of this.
Sure, Steve has never won a fight, but he's strong. Brave. Dustin can be strong and brave too.
Dustin knows he has to leave Steve. He has to protect Erica. But they can't just leave Steve and Robin. He cannot be the reason he loses Steve. They have to go back.
Sure, everyone is alive. But no one is okay. And it's mostly the Mindflayer's fault. But Steve is hurt. Bad. And Robin too. And Dustin thinks if he hadn't brought the Russian code to them- none of this would have happened. At least the two of them would be ok.
Season 4:
Will and El are gone. Max is here, but not really. Dustin doesn't see Steve as often as he had hoped. But he found a new friend. And since the Upside Down is no longer a concern, this new friend should be safe.
Lucas joined the basketball team. Dustin is happy for him. He is. But it means less time with his friend. And Mike has been moping since Will and El left.
Dustin can't keep losing people. Eddie is safe. Eddie helped him the first day of school. Eddie makes Dustin feel safe. What could go wrong?
Eddie is gone. And whose fault is that? There was no one else there. No one else to blame. Every person and every thing that Dustin cares about... And there's only one thing connecting them all- Dustin.
