Fairy Tail
It doesn’t matter how many people criticize Fairy Tail, I will always love this anime with all my heart and all my soul. You can say it is one of the worst animes you have seen, but I think it is the best. And if you think I’m wrong, okay, I see you’re not prepared to accept that it is a beautiful and wholesome anime.
You want to see proves that it is an incredible anime?
Okay, I have them:
1. The music. Look me in the eyes and tell me Yasuharu Takanashi isn’t one of the best or the best japanese composer. I dare you. There isn’t another composer of Anime OST like Yasuharu Takanashi, because all the soundtrack of Fairy Tail is beautiful, wholesome, emotional, epic… and he makes you feel emotions that no one else can make you feel.
2. The animation. Maybe people will disagree with me on this, but for me, the art style of Hiro Mashima is one of the best (alongside Kōhei Horikoshi, Natsuki Kizu and Masashi Kishimoto). I just love his characters designs and the backgrounds. For me the way he draws the hair, the eyes, the body and everything else is great.
3. The couples. Hiro Mashima is the only mangaka that made me ship the canon/semi-canon ships (like Nalu, Gruvia, Gale, Elfever, Jerza) more that the fanon ships (like Gratsu, Graylu, Stingue…) and I think that says a lot about the couples of the mangas created by other mangakas. In Fairy Tail there isn’t one single ship toxic or forced or that doesn't make sense. Not a single one. (And I could give examples of ships from other animes that are toxic, forced or senseless, but I would never finish).
4. The girls. All of the female characters of Fairy Tail are awesome, badass and incredible. Fairy Tail is the only anime that made me love all of the female characters (like Erza, Lucy, Lisanna, Levy, Mirajane, Evergreen, Cana, Juvia, Wendy, Kinana, Yukino) and again, that says a lot. And if you don’t like (or hate) some of the girls (like Lisanna or Lucy), shame. All of them are strong, brave, kind and they don’t deserve your hate.
5. The villains. There’s nothing I love more than a villain getting a second chance, or a villain redemption, and this anime has it. Fairy Tail is a great guild that redeemed a villain (or a group of villains) in each arc, and I think that’s beautiful. That’s what Fairy Tail does, bring out the best in people (like Kageyama, Lyon and his mates, Gajeel, Juvia, Milliana, Jellal, Erza Knightwalker, Edolas Royal Army, Ultear, Meredy, Legion Corps, Flare Corona, Sabertooth, Oracion Seis, some members of the Alvarez Empire…).
6. The world. The world where Fairy Tail takes place is wonderful. It is a world where magic and wizards exist. You can join a guild that can be -is- your family and will help you every time you need it. Besides, the magic that the mages of Fairy Tail have is amazing: the Dragon Slayer magic, the Celestial Spirit magic (which is very original), the Requip magic, the Ice-Make magic…
7. The plot. Fairy Tail tells the story of a member of the Fairy Tail guild, Natsu Dragneel, that wants to find the dragon Igneel who taught him the Dragon Slayer magic. In some point he goes to the Hargeon Town where she meets Lucy. Then the story follows the adventures of Lucy, Natsu, Happy, Gray, Erza, and the rest of members of the Fairy Tail Guild. I fell in love with the anime from the beginning, but if you get bored don’t stop watching it. It would get better. I promise. You just have to wait to get to the Galuna Arc, Phantom Lord Arc or Oracion Seis Arc.
8. The humor. Fairy Tail can be serious when it has to, but it is also funny, and it brings a smile to your face even if you’re angry or sad. (Trust me, I know because it happened to me).
9. The emotions. Fairy Tail can make you feel a lot of emotions. When the characters cry, you feel sad, when the characters are angry, you are angry too, when the characters are happy, you smile thanks to them… And when the Fairy Tail guild wins, your heart fills with pride and joy (at least mine does). If there’s anything that feels better than Fairy Tail’s victories, tell me, I’ll wait for it.
10. The meaning. This is related to number 5. Fairy Tail is a kind, empathetic and compassionate guild. They try to understand the villains instead of just assuming the worst of them. They try to change the villains instead of letting them become worse persons. And even with the most evil villains, like Acnologia, they don’t talk with hate, or anger. Natsu said something (I don’t remember the exact words) to Acnologia with pity and sympathy. That just proves how human are the members of Fairy Tail. And I think Hiro Mashima wanted to show that in his manga/anime. That nobody is pure evil or irredeemable. That every character needs a second chance. That every character is capable of being good. And that the good in people is what will make a better world.
For this, and for more, Fairy Tail is, to me, the best anime. And to me, these are the reasons why Fairy Tail doesn't deserve the hate it gets.
Edit: If you hate Fairy Tail, then you are totally missing the moral of this story. It is an anime with kind, compassionate and empathetic characters that are capable of forgive villains for their bad actions and characters that are almost incapable of hate someone. Characters that sees the best in people. But after you watch that anime you criticize it? It seems like you didn't understand at all what Fairy Tail wants to teach you.

LuNa/NaLu analysis: playing devil's advocate
Previously posted in another site
Potent pairings often have some moments that stand out more due to their significace or their impact. While most haters and detractors are prone to ignore those scenes or act like they don't exist, some question or downplay such moments for the sake of other premises or mere spite. Here, we're going devil's advocate for famous hug scenes to see if the context favors supporters or detractors Let's start with Fairy Tail. I think most fans are familiar with this scene:
NaLu Hug
Tumblr media
...a detractor could say this isn't a NaLu moment because she's not crying for Natsu, instead she's crying for Éclair.
Is that argument correct? Let's break down the context surrounding the scene. The guild had to destroy the phoenix because it's too much of a threat for the world. But, destroying the phoenix meant Éclair's death too, who at that point was a dear friend to Lucy.
Tumblr media
After saving the day at the cost of Éclair's life, Lucy tearfully mourns her death. But, who's the person she goes to for comfort? Who did she go to in hopes of finding some relief?
Tumblr media
Natsu is the one who offers her the relief and comfort she needed during that moment.
Needless to say, later scenes show a far more cheerful Lucy later. Showing how the emotional support Natsu gave her had a positive effect on her.
Tumblr media
And of course, there's another detail some people missed; nearly the whole guild is present there when Lucy was crying, and while they kept a respectful silence, only one person did the part of emotional anchor for her, Natsu. The person she approached out of every guildmate present there
Tumblr media
So, even if she was crying for Eclair, the fact Lucy gravitated toward Natsu; the fact she chose to go to the person  who consistently gives her emotional support, and the fact she got calm and more collected afterwards partly because of Natsu's touching gesture, makes this scene a NaLu moment
LuNa hug
Now we move to One Piece, and this scene...
Tumblr media
Detractors say this isn't a LuNa moment because Nami was crying for Sanji. Once again, we have to take a close look to the context.
Before Luffy and the rest of the crew arrived to Zou, Sanji was kidnapped and taken to the territory of a very dangerous pirate to deal with his family and an arranged marriage
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By the time Luffy arrives, Nami was peacefully sleeping until Chopper announces Luffy and the rest are back. She gets up with clear joy in her face...
Tumblr media
...and goes to reunite with the rest of her crew, running straight into Luffy's arms. Then she softly cries about Sanji's fate. This is reminiscent of Water 7, the moment she spots Luffy before the Aqua Laguna strikes, she bravely runs toward him, and as soon as she got there she tearfully dropped what she had in her chest because of Robin's sacrifice.
Tumblr media
In Zou, she could've ran to Zoro or Robin and expressed what she felt there. But, the one person she chose to run to was Luffy.
Tumblr media
Someone who had provided her with relief, comfort and strength in the past...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...someone who could play with the role of emotional anchor now that she needs it. Later scenes that, after sharing that moment with her captain, she no longer shows sadness or anxiety.
So, even if she wasn't crying for Sanji. The fact she chose Luffy for this; the fact she went to the person who consistently provided her with the emotional support she needed; and the fact she could be calm and collected after their reunion hug, prove this is a LuNa moment
Tumblr media
So, the point here is: context makes or breaks a moment, and some of the most powerful scene are the ones that show emotional chemistry in action. Such is the case for these potent relationships

NaLu Day 1
Happy NaLu Week! I am super excited to take part in my first NaLu week! I hope you all enjoy! Day One. @allaboutnalu @thenaluarchive
Anniversary
“Your anniversary with Lucy is coming up Natsu. Did you forget again this year?” Happy flew in circles above Natsu’s head. His tone was teasing, as though he already knew the answer to his question. Natsu chose not to answer, staring out at the quiet guildhall. It was a rainy day, so most people stayed home rather than hang out in the hall. The quiet atmosphere coupled with the grey skies had made his mood sour. Anniversary huh?
Natsu had not forgotten. In fact, he hadn’t forgotten any of the years that the others thought he had. He just didn’t understand anniversaries the way the others did. An anniversary is the celebration of the first time you did something, right? Why does only one first matter?
Looking around the guildhall he could see a hundred firsts as though they were printed into the wood grain of the walls and tables themselves. At the doorway, he could see the first time he brought Lucy to the guild. She had gaped at the sign with a look of such wonder and fulfillment that even then it made his pulse race.
The request board, though a completely different one now after so many years, held the memory of the first job they took together. Everlue’s mansion seemed like such a lifetime ago, and yet the lessons he learned about his partner were still at the forefront of his mind. It was there that he learned of her strong sense of justice, her compassion, and her uncompromising ideals.
In the corner of the room sat a large box full of iron scraps, Gajeel’s snack box. The smell of the iron always reminded him of the day Phantom Lord had attacked them and kidnapped Lucy. That was the first time he realized that she meant much more to him than just a teammate. The battle against Gajeel had taught him that Lucy was loyal, brave, trusting, and above all, she was his. He hadn’t known at the time why he felt that way, but it would always be a memory that resonated within him.
Hanging on the wall, a painting Reedus did of the Tenrou Team held the first time he realized that Lucy loved him. She hadn’t said it, and still wouldn’t for a long time after that moment, but he understood it all the same. In her fight with Kain Hikaru of Grimoire Heart, he found himself trapped in rubble and begged her to run and save herself, but she refused. The massive man had lifted her by the head to face Natsu. Expecting her to be afraid or resigned, instead her face wore the largest smile he had ever seen. Her words echoed in his mind: It’s always more fun when we are together. It was a mantra he carried with him every day.
The shelf behind the bar houses a large silver trophy bearing an engraved Fairy Tail emblem. Emblazoned on the base are the words ‘X791 Grand Magic Games – Fiore’s Greatest Guild – Fairy Tail’. In this relic rests many memories of firsts. The most significant was the moment he watched as Lucy died. In that moment he found himself facing the concept of a world without her and found it unbearable. That horrific moment was branded into his mind as the same moment that he realized he was in love with Lucy. He swore to save and protect her future, a vow he maintains even now.
Hanging from the rafters is a tattered flag with the guild emblem on it. The same one he pulled from the rubble just before the war against Alvarez. The bittersweet feeling matches the tattered remains perfectly, as this is the memory of the first (and last) time he left Lucy behind. A year in seclusion, training to become strong enough to protect Lucy’s future forever. But for her, it was a year of seclusion without him or any of their friends. Looking back at the training time now, Natsu can see that the most valuable lesson learned in that year was how much he wanted to be by her side, always.
“I’m going for a walk Happy; I’ll see you back home.” He wanders absently out into the drizzling rain. Even the weather held an anniversary for him. It was raining like this the day he first kissed her.
A picnic in South Gate turned into a mad dash for cover from the sudden downpour. The sound of her giggles and squeals still rang in his ears, bringing a smile to his lips. Hiding under a small awning, they watched the rain fall from the sunny sky. His arm was around her shoulders, drying the wetness from her clothes with his warmth. She told him of Sunbursts, a kind of rain shower that bursts forth from a sunny sky, just like the one that day. He’d watched her face as she spoke of how her mother told her that Sunbursts always preempted some of the most beautiful moments in life because they guaranteed a rainbow at the end. When she turned and smiled up at him he captured her lips with his own, leaving both of them glassy-eyed and panting gently. “I guess your mom was right…” he’d murmured to her. She had thrown her arms around his neck, attaching the memory of their second kiss to the sound of rain on the pavement as well.
Passing by the apartment on Strawberry Street was always full of memories. Glancing up at the window made him grin at the number of times he’d broken into her home to wait for her. His favorite anniversary held there was the night they had slept together. A long mission surrounded by their team, with no time to themselves, ended with the couple tangled together in Lucy’s bed. Exploring each other’s bodies had been the sweetest adventure, and it was one Natsu enjoyed embarking on as often as she would let him.
Ahead and to the left stood the trinket store where he purchased the small ring that changed their world in a big way. He’d never dreamt of being married, but when a glint in the window caught his eye, he couldn’t look away. A braided silver band with a golden strand twined through it supported twelve small diamonds surrounding a star-shaped opal. He had begged a loan from the only man he knew could keep a secret to buy it. How could he work extra to save for it quickly when Lucy went with him on every job? Gray had agreed, only after Natsu showed him the ring. It was perfect for Lucy, and there would never be a better one.
Looking up he realized he had almost made it to their house. Quickening his pace he crossed the remaining distance and slipped inside. His clothes steamed dry as he made his way to the kitchen where he could hear Lucy singing to herself. Wrapping his arms around her from behind, he planted his chin on her shoulder. She turned in his arms and kissed him softly, studying his face.
“Hey, what’s up? You look like something is bothering you.”
He smiled slightly and brushed his nose against hers. “Nah, I was just thinking about our anniversary.”
She pressed another gentle kiss against his lips. “Which one?” The question made Natsu grin. He didn’t know why he let the others get to him. He may not celebrate anniversaries the way others expected him to, but his Lucy understood him. Moreover, she accepted his way of thinking and loved him for it. “All of them.” He buried his face into her neck, inhaling his favorite scent in the world. “I love you, Luce.”

Erika you’re so brave for that salty ask game! Let’s hear 5, 6, 9 and 27 please?
Alright, time for me to give some salt back (in a loving manner of course)~!
5) Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
The MHA fandom largely ruined shipping in general for that series. Like, the one triangle I mentioned before is something I really don't get emotionally. But overall, I've become meh about shipping for that series. Fandoms are truly a force to be reckoned with (derogatory).
6) Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
I've said it before and I'll say it again but I've never had the experience of a fandom getting me to enjoy a pairing I once hated.
However, so I don't bore you with the same answer twice, I'll share an example of how the source material of a series made me enjoy a ship. Impey x Cardia from Code Realize was pretty meh for me in the original game. It took me months to bring myself to finish Impey's route and I forgot how the romance developed there. But then in the fan discs! Ooooh! Cardia and Impey are just so cute together. Cardia supports Impey and he lovingly teases her and they work together. AND THEIR WEDDING! GAH! I'm gonna replay CR eventually and hopefully I'll better appreciate Impey's route and his romance with Cardia this time.
9) Most disliked character(s)? Why?
I already said the Zogratis family and Alecdora... Lemme pull from my other fandoms~!
Hero Aca: Tomura Shigaraki. His full time hater status has gotten on my last nerve. I've given up on MHA successfully redeeming him even though I'm pretty sure that's where it'll end up. I only really keep up with MHA to know how it ends.
Demon Slayer: Just imagine me stabbing a bag of milk, if you would. Also Muzan and his victim complex. Cringe, dude, so glad you're gone.
Fairy Tail: All the demons of the Tartaros Guild for being unsufferable, sadistic bastards. Now I know that's the point as demons with no humanity made for the purpose of killing Zeref (and they couldn't even manage that). Brain/Zero and the talking stick from the Oracion Seis also get my seal of disapproval for 1) preying on some traumatized children (that's Brain) and 2) being incredibly annoying (the stick).
Shadows House: Mia. That kid needs to stop being a menace for a freaking minute and give Sara some time to think some independent thoughts. And Edward, I'm not going to forgive him for the shit he pulled against Maryrose/Rosemary and Barbara.
Dishonorable mentions: Yuri Briar from SxF. Gretel from Taisho x Alice (I freaking wish he burned to death in that house). I also generally have a disdain for locked, "true route" dudes in dating sims (except Misyr, he's hot and funny and cool and a monster hubby after my own heart) but Adolphe from Virche Evermore has multiple other offenses against him so he is the worst of the annoyances.
27) Least shippable character?
I dunno what it is but Dorothy has a "single and thriving" vibe. So it's not out of dislike or disinterest that I don't ship Dorothy. It's just her energy is so independent and free that I have trouble picturing her with a romantic partner.

Okay so notes on my fairy tail rewrites with a few plots and characters. This isn't everything but just some things I've been considering:
Zeref is the reason all calamity started. He and a group of his companions (Anna and Irene included in this) wanted to unlock the secrets of magic. He specifically wanted immortality.
Irene has been his devoted follower since day 1. She was the first attempt at learning dragon magic, things didn't pan out right however, she was unstable. Zeref then made hybrids.
Dragons were originally peaceful, trusting, and fully immortal. But Zeref in his quest for immortality went to more and more depraved lengths and ultimately polluted magic for them causing them to turn Feral.
Anna was the only mage until Mavis that had a real chance against Zeref. He holds a deep respect for her and finds her descendants to be pathetic in comparison.
He was cursed to be forgotten by all those who left him, and to kill those who stuck around. The closer you stand near him, the quicker your life is drained away.
Irene was around from Zeref's mortal days and has always been a loyal companion, nothing romantic, but she is fully devoted to his goals and his cause. She met Erza's father and when they separated due to her devotion to Zeref overall she would've already been pregnant. However being the woman that she was she had little interest in actually being a mom and instead left Erza in the tower of Heaven. She would've been the one in charge of it and the hope was to get some use out of something she didn't even want.
Mavis was a child when they met and a tentative friendship bloomed as he tried to train her into something that could kill him. He did everything he could to make killing him a good option: drawing forth demons, razing a few smaller towns. When she proved incapable of what he wanted he opted to kill her.
Mavis led a war against his minions and faced him, he let her go with a handful of years left. She still chose to hunt him down and end him. Precht disapproved completely but couldn't stop her. The next time they met zeref was flinging her corpse at his feet. A warning that fairy tail shouldn't waste his time.
Precht would've been Mavis's potential romance in this version, I'd put her at 19 in the beginning and him within 1-2 years of her. Any feelings would've been built on respect and loyalty towards each other.
Mavis could actually use a sword in this version, she still uses illusions but she also was a terrifying opponent in a one on one duel. She was known to be kind, caring, brave, and unyielding.
The king grants them an official, prestigious guild thanks to Mavis leading the war. This idea gets lost over the next 90 years due to all the founders very much just wanting the guild to be a home to those in need. No screening process.
Now for the characters we know and love
Juvia does not get with gray. She has a strong love and obsession regarding him at first but due to his disinterest in romance as a whole and constant rejection of her she starts realizing how bad her behavior can be.
Jet actually works as a spy for the guild (so does mest sure but I want a character we know well). He's good at blending in due to having a more average appearance and can also think quick in regards to talking his way out of situations. His speed also allows him to give more updates and lose those that tail him. I figure this means one of the grand magic council would be on a first name basis with him because he would be seen quite a bit.
Droy gets to be fat after the time skip, but also strong. He would have pretty powerful plant magic and when Levy went missing he threw himself fully into gardening and strengthening the structure of the guild when it received damage. He'd be a pretty powerful mage but not the most interested in figuring out proper battle uses for his plants so mainly deals in restraining and shielding.
Vijeeter got no development at all. I think he and team shadowgear should be from the same town that got destroyed by something zeref related. However rather than becoming codependent on the other 3 he became closed off. His dancing is his final connection to his family and his altheticism leads him to being used for stealth missions.
Nab was actually brought up normally. He joined fairy tail to be able to do some good, found a team he liked and worked well with, and ended up the sole survivor of a mission that should've been easy. From that point on even taking any missions was a challenge and joining a team for one was impossible. He hangs around the board because he's afraid to be removed from the guild, but can't bring himself to actually take a job.
Gray never gets with anyone during the story. People constantly leering at him and stalking him put him off of romance and relationships as a whole. But that doesn't mean he was alone. My ending for him is (due to reasons I can explain) he loses his magic and one of his arms, begins helping levy with translating and support for people on quests, and ends up as a guild dad of sorts to the next generation.
Chico is probably a name few people remember. But she arguably had one of the coolest magic skills. Mashima forgot her. I'd have her be a friend to the thunder legion who can't leave on far off quests like they do due to her powers limiting her reach. The spirits only stick around as long as she's in the areas they're from. Her spirits gain more human forms the more magic she pumps into them and I'd replace Juvia in the tower of heaven arc with her because I think a scene of her calling forth those that died in the tower would be haunting and cool as hell. (She is at the top of my list for redesigns)
Reedus is the peace keeper in the guild. He's a bit cowardly but also a gentle giant who others are more likely to at least hear out because he's just a big softy. After the timeskip he ends up married with a child or two and has joined Macao and Wakaba as the old dudes who talk in the bar. He also helps mitigate any weird comments they might make.
Romeo is actually more of a troubled teen when natsu and company come back after the timeskip. He's angry at his dad who has been trying to avoid guilds decimating fairy tail, and angry at those who disappeared for leaving fairy tail vulnerable. He'd definitely be a more divisive character but I think him reconciling with the cast overtime would be more impactful than him just being an adoring fan.
Gajeel has a strong friendship form with both team shadowgear and the thunder legion. Something no one fully understands because he's terrible with people, but the others love him to the point that he ropes the thunder legion into forming a band.
Last note for now: if we have pairs happening there's one I would develop romantically and that is Juvia and Droy. "What?" Trust me I know. Droy is a plant mage. Juvia is a water mage who from her first scene is shown to largely think her power is a curse. In this version a lot of the weird/perverted moments from the guys are removed because they do nothing for the characters. Droy and Juvia start a friendship and he considers her to be a blessing. A woman who can control rain and strengthen the crops, not to mention she's smart and beautiful. And juvia who hasn't actually been fully appreciated before, who has someone calling her a blessing is affected by this. They'd be a slow burn pair for sure but a cure duo to develop.
Lastly here are a few plot alterations
As mentioned before, Chico replaces Juvia in the Tower of Heaven arc. I want us to have arcs where we get to high light less developed guild members. We got Cana plotlines on the tenrou island arc and it was nice to put focus on someone other than just the main group.
The tower of heaven arc starts in a circus/carneval this time around. I think the powers of a good portion of Erza's tower family lend to this idea of presentation/entertainment and team natsu accidentally meeting them and being pulled into this arc would be fun.
We get a few chapters/mini plots where we see the other guilds around fiore doing stuff unrelated to the fairy tail guild. One of the biggest issued of fairy tail is I've always felt that places only come up when the plot demands it and the world doesn't feel super fleshed out because of it.
On that note, give us an episode or two of just the fairy tail members who didn't get frozen in time. Let us see them on their own, acknowledge them as people, see how their relationships are. This also gives us a time to focus on Macao being the acting guild master and how he defers from Makarov. How these years have changed him as a person.
Alvarez arc happens when Tartarous was supposed to and Tartarous is our final story arc. Alvarez is severely underdeveloped and again, only seems to come up when it needs to exist as an enemy. The arc starts with Gildarts sending a message to fairy tail involving odd magic, magic similar to how zerefs felt, coming from within the kingdom. Vijeeter and a few others are sent mostly just to check it out subtly because gildarts is asking and they lose contact. That's when erza decides to lead a team herself. This leads to a mass destruction of most of Alvarez and starts our quick spiral towards the end.
Mavis actually does kill Zeref, what's left of her spirit does anyway. She destroys what remains to end him. Because much like always, the survival of her family is more important than her own memory.
Makarov actually dies, thinking he was dead most of the final arc only for him to be alive was not a fun time. Let the man rest. Let Erza properly take over as guild master.
Acnologia is still a question at the back of everyone's mind I know. Acnologia doesn't fully get defeated. He gets locked away. Gray being the self destructive man he is opts to ice shell him, Lucy figures out what he's about to do and manages to help funnel enough magic from other mages around to allow him to keep his life. He loses an arm and his magic however. And everyone knows that eventually Acnologia will have to be dealt with somehow and properly ended. But in the mean time they have the chance to figure it out and take a breath.
That's some of the ideas I had for changes I'd make. I haven't touched on things I'd change about the other parts of team natsu or some of the other arcs, but this is the bulk of it. If you guys have more questions/want to hear more let me know.

Why Natsu, Happy and Lucy Work as a Trio
Natsu, Happy and Lucy are just three in the group we get to know well in the shonen series Fairy Tail. From episode one we are able to register that this trio are going to be a fun group even if the story was focused on them. Of course it is not only focused on this set and the three have their big moments with other people, but their biggest moments are often with each other or for each other.  These three work in terms of the theme of Fairy Tail, something you will most likely hear me talk about in every post I make of Fairy Tail due to how important it is. The theme of this series is the glue that holds it together and although you can understand the events without this theme, it gives greater reasoning for the person’s actions and brings out deeper emotions in the reader/watcher. The biggest reason why they work is in a way that although they are friends they conceptualize a family bond. Natsu being the father, as stated by Lisanna when Happy was first found as an egg, Lucy as the mother, and Happy as the child. It isn’t a literal form of it by any means and Happy and Lucy would never have a parental look on each other. The best idea of this is to show that Happy is often the more younger joyful one, seen as a “father’s boy in some eyes. Natsu would be the brute, noted to be caring for his family but also a bit lost minded. Finally there is Lucy, the more mindful and kind of the group but also not afraid to put her foot down if needed.  Even if you do not see those three as a small family, their friendship is the strongest bond they have best bound together by their personality match. They each are filled with excitement and ready for adventure with their goals always in the forefront of their mind right behind what would be good for their guild and each other. Their own lives behind their goals. Lucy is the biggest example of the one that manages to keep a clear head during the most stressful situations while Natsu is the one to do what his gut instincts are aiming for. Happy is a mixture of the two, able to come up with ideas while also being brave when he needs to be and fighting. Even without thinking of these three as a trio, they still work as individual personalities, Natsu and Lucy being better than this than Happy due to Happy being so close to Natsu. However, Happy also managed to his own moments. Lucy manages to set herself aside as a sexualized girl, but she is also shown to be extremely smart and talented as a wizard. Natsu is the one that is your typical protagonist, a fighter who thinks of his actions later but has some sort of brain cell in there. He’ll be willing to do almost anything in order to get answers and his fiery personality gives him strength. Happy on the other hand finally had his moment during Edolas when he stands up for himself and Carla, but he is often stuck with either one of these two. However, when he is with these two he seems to bring out the best in them with his witty jokes. When watching Fairy Tail from the beginning to current, you see the slow build up of trust between Natsu and Lucy, although it seems a bit sudden at times. Natsu teases her at first, although she doesn’t understand his teasing quite yet until later and he doesn’t quite understand how truly smart she is as a wizard. However, as they are guildmates in Fairy Tail, they put faith in each other and trust the abilities that the others have. They flush this out as the series progresses with Lucy knowing full well that Natsu will protect her and she eventually does the same for him multiple times. Overall, I adore watching this small group and the relationship they have with each other. I do miss the original scenes we had in the beginning of the series, but alas the show goes on and so the stakes grow. Anyways, as always I would adore to hear your opinions! <3 So far your comments have been so fun to read and I appreciate the love I have gotten on my previous posts!
See you later in the Deep End!

Your NRC boys with FT magic has led to me imagining them as just the weirdest guild
They're one guild but they keep getting confused for seven. When you join you're assigned a color-coded clique based on vibes and they are heavily enforced. Crowley is the guild master but all the other guilds know the housewardens best because that man has never seen a problem he couldn't make someone else's. The fact that they keep acquiring very powerful mages with little regard for traditional morality would probably raise eyebrows if not for Fairy Tail doing the exact same thing + rampant property destruction making everyone too busy to care
Sorry to drop this word dump in your ask box.
Never apologize for word dumps fam. What else is community for, if not to inflict our bizarre ideas on each other?
Bruh the way you explained it... As a guild, NRC would totally be the slightly less scuffed Phantom Lord. Just with way more firepower.
Because Phantom Lord had all of those mini-sections of their guild in other cities that we never saw. I assume there was some location-appointed leader for those. What if instead of some one-town multi-clique thing, it was spread over a bit of a wider area? And then when somebody joined the NRC guild (Night Raven is actually a very solid guild name I'd say), they just picked a spot to be their home base... But each of the seven branches have more or less extreme rivalries with the other branches, because damn if these nutjobs aren't competitive and also kinda petty, so committing to one branch becomes a social thing. Not everyone is brave like Rook and pops between two different branches like it's nbd.
So like, each branch has their own little aesthetic and name and they get mistaken for an independent guild all of the time, but really it all funnels into funny birdman and technically less complicated paperwork because it's all his fault if something happens, but as you said, Crowley would 1000% foist as much of that work on the seven deputy-leaders/housewardens as often as possible. (Crack Idea that Might Be True: Crowley is definitely some sort of cryptid that has been alive for hundreds of years and this is how he "maintains his human facade" but all of the sub-leaders know this and they also know that he really does hate responsibility that much.)
Although Night Raven would totally find their guild spirit if someone else gets involved. Like that Royal Sword guild? United front against them, no sweat. Eff them guys.
Obviously it's not uncommon for peeps in different branches to do stuff together, job to job, but there still is way too much Branch Pride going on for them to completely drop the internal rivalries.
....dang it fam now I am thinking about this au way too hard again. It's becoming story shaped and that's so dangerous XD (and very fun)
