how they care for you when you’re sick/injured but refuse to rest
a/n: requested by @tolkien-fantasy!! 💕 since i already did sth quite similar with Frodo/Sam/Merry/Pippin, this time I decided to include only the “big guys”, aka Aragorn, Boromir, Faramir, Éomer and Legolas. Also Fíli doesn't go here but I decided he will be here.☺️ I hope you enjoy, let me know your thoughts and opinions, and reblogs are always super appreciated!!!🥰🥰🥰
Tumblr media
Aragorn: He is literally just like that, even if he’s unwell he will keep pushing, and that is exactly why he immediately notices you do it too, and decides to put a stop to it. As much as he is loving and supportive and always respects your opinions and wishes, he is not taking ‘no’ for an answer when he deems that you really need to rest and recover. Luckily for you, he’s a legendary healer, so you will probably get better relatively soon. If he’s able to give you 100% of his attention and time during your recovery, he will literally feed you if he needs to, just so that you don’t exhaust yourself even more. Also he will quickly hush you if you begin to protest and insist that you’re fine and really have things to do! Sorry, king’s orders! Not just that, he will most definitely have your favorite food made for you, so that you don’t have to lift a finger (even though you want to).
Boromir: You were both extremely busy on the day when Gondor was preparing for some big festival, and amid your errands you sprained your ankle, but you brushed it off because you wanted to personally oversee the flower arrangements. For the first and only time you were thankful not to see Boromir half the day because you knew he would make a small fuss about it immediately, so you limped on until you accidentally ended up tripping and stumbling backwards into a familiar strong chest. He looked at you suspiciously while you attempted to just brush it off as being clumsy, but he thought you looked a little bit pale and was not convinced. Before you could keep convincing him, he picked you up bridal style and carried you to your bed, having seen right through your act. Sadly he couldn’t have stayed with you the whole time as there were still some things to prepare, but he ran to you as often as he could to check if you were still resting, and to attack you with a flurry of reassuring kisses. Later in the evening he will 100% cuddle you until you both fall asleep wrapped up in each other, and he has no trouble carrying you around for days so that you don’t have to put weight on your injured leg - he enjoys doing it!
Legolas: Injuries and illnesses are not exactly something he is very familiar with, but he knows enough to be aware that they require rest and recuperation! His senses are sharp and he notices if you wince one time, and he is there in an instant. He will ask you what is wrong, what you need, etc. As much as Legolas he understands your restlessness and the constant need to be up and about, he needs you to understand that he’s worried and doesn’t want your condition to get worse. If it’s something very serious, he will immediately call Aragorn for help, but if it’s something minor, he thinks he should be able to handle it and support you through it. Before you know it, you’re not allowed to do anything under his watchful gaze but you’re bored!! No problem, though, he is more than ready to entertain you in any way he can, even if it means he has to sing you all the elvish songs since the beginning of time (and you will make good use of his promise to do that!).
Éomer: Oh that is literally his BRAND because he’s out there being unstoppable even when something is wrong - and he is not letting his beloved be like that, not on his watch! He is also the type to carry you to bed despite your protests and you being like “I’m fine!” And he is like, alright then, but even if you’re fine, that doesn’t mean you can’t get some rest! No amount of your pouting is going to make him let up. Eventually when you finally admit you’re in pain, he will fuss over you a bit and he will literally try to cook something (he feels better when he can take action) and before you know it he’s making 4 different kinds of tea at the same time and things seem a bit chaotic… When you ask whether he’s sure he doesn’t need any help, he will insist that you just go and rest and that he has everything under control. Needless to say, you didn’t get to eat/drink everything that he started making cause he failed at many things, but you appreciate the love that went into it regardless!
Faramir: He can notice that something is off within like 0.3 seconds and multiple times throughout the day he will ask how you’re feeling and if something is wrong because he can sense that something is off, but he knows you well enough to know that you’d prefer to keep going on about your day, even when in pain. And then when you almost pass out you finally admit that you’re not feeling well, and you know he will immediately drop whatever else he is doing and just focus on you as much as he can until you’re perfectly recovered. More likely than not he is immediately looking for Aragorn because he is NOT taking any risks; although you try to reassure him that it might not be necessary. He knows how to be persistent and when he gives you puppy eyes with those gorgeous teal blue eyes… you have no choice but to let him do his thing.
Fíli: When it comes to you he is a very worried person and he likes to keep an eye on you as much as he can, so it doesn't take him long to become aware that you're acting...different. He is especially fussy if you get injured, and he will push everything and everyone else aside to nurse you back to health, and it literally becomes his number one priority. Fíli won''t hesitate to be even a little bit harsh if anyone comes to bother you or ask something of you before you're 100% recovered, so sometimes you gently reprimand him for it - you feel well enough to go and keep doing things! But good luck trying to convince him!

well loved
preference summary: what they do to remind you you're loved.
content warnings: none
fandom: the lord of the rings
characters: frodo, sam, pippin, merry, boromir, faramir, aragorn, legolas, arwen, eowyn, eomer, galadriel, elrond (if other characters are wanted for future preferences, let me know!)
gender neutral reader
Tumblr media
Frodo: He always checks in on you, always wanting to make sure you were doing okay. He's one of those who is more in tune with emotions, and wanting to check in on emotional wellbeing. He wants you to know you'll always have someone to lean on, and he shows you love through his active listening of your problems.
Sam: He's the type to do small tasks around the house for you, wanting to make sure you don't have to worry about anything. He sets up a routine that's nice and homey. He wouldn't have you lifting a finger if he could, wanting to make sure you can be relaxed. You would have to step in at some points, saying you'd want to split the work.
Pippin: He makes you very well included on any inside jokes, wanting to you to know what it's like. He showed his love through humorous jokes, saying he always wanted to see your smile. His love may have been shown through jokes, but he made you feel truly seen, which was a wonderful way to be reminded you're loved by him.
Merry: He loves to give you parts of his food, wanting to make sure you were well fed. He feels wellbeing is tied to being well fed, so he wants to make sure you get a fair share. And I think that Merry himself likes to try cooking once in a while, and likes to give some cooking to you.
Boromir: He always carves out time in his schedule to spend quality time with you. He always loves to have meals together with you, wanting to make it romantic, with something as simple as bringing flowers for the vase in the middle. He shows his love through any amount of time spent with you, wanting to shower you with his compliments.
Faramir: He has subconscious movements to make sure you're okay and safe. Such as holding out a hand during hikes in an area that's heavily rooted, wanting to make sure of your safety to help you balance and find your way. He also loves to place a hand on your back in crowded areas. He always has a special look of love, reserved just for you.
Aragorn: He always likes to recite poetry or songs he comes across that reminds him of you. He always gives you the softest of looks during those moments, and these moments are usually done by the fires in your room. He usually has your back against him, as he whispers them into your ear.
Legolas: He finds a variety of plants that reminds him of you, always bringing them back for you to look at or put somewhere that you deem cool. It's gotten to the point where there's almost too many flowers in your living space, but you also don't have the heart to tell him to stop. It's really sweet to see the variety of flowers he hand picked for you.
Arwen: She loves to sneak kisses from you throughout the day. She's playful, so her showing her love is through playful ways. She loves to take you off guard of when she'll kiss you, and she always loves hearing your laugh afterwards. She loves to watch you get flustered, laughing as she rushes away.
Eowyn: She loves quality time to, wanting to spend time with you. Her favorite ways to showing you love is teaching you some of her favorite moves in training. She shows you what she has learned, and also wants to learn what you know. She wants to make sure the both of you are prepared for anything, and it's a nice way to spend time with each other.
Eomer: He loves to go horseback riding with you. It provides a time where the two of you can talk in peace, where he doesn't feel the pressure of the kingdom. He loves talking with you here, where the two of you don't feel watched. It's a sense of freedom to speak your minds, but the act of horseback riding allows you to go anywhere. He loves to explore with you that way.
Galadriel: She loves turning to you for advice. She may not always agree, but she loves to hear what you have to say. She finds that hearing a variety of perspectives helps her, and she feels that it helps her get closer to you. She always likes to hear what you have to say about some decisions in how she runs her kingdom.
Elrond: He likes to spoil you, simple as that. It doesn't even have to be buying you many things, although he loves doing that as well. It can be just as well showering you with praise, or giving you his full attention, even if it means ignoring his work for a little bit. He loves at his fullest, spoiling you with many things you love.

faramir - kiss me like you want to be loved.
summary: a long-awaited confession.
word count: 2.4k
fanfic no. 041
a/n: boromir lives because i say so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was a difficult farewell between the close brothers of gondor. but both were optimistic they would reunite not too far in the future—both were astute and praised warriors, trained from the day each of them could hold a sword upright.
between you and faramir, the cautious goodbye was somewhat tainted in awkwardness. neither of you were brave enough at the present moment to admit the feelings that plagued you both, effecting judgement, sleep and the completion of even minor tasks for many years now.
“farewell, y/n,” he spoke softly, a hitch in his breath, hesitantly raising an arm, wondering if he was crossing the delicate line of propriety.
“farewell, faramir,” you replied, abandoning predetermined notions of decorum as you finished what he had started, pulling him into a quick embrace, the first you had ever shared. and perhaps the last.
when you released him from your hold, his gaze was fixed upon you, awestruck from the emotions that arose within him from such a simple gesture, beginning to regret that he could not take his brothers place and curse the father that did not trust him with the task. with his mouth agape, and eyes almost sleepy, and heart in torment, he watched you back away from him, stepping into line with his older brother.
he was the last citizen of gondor to remain at the city’s uppermost region, watching you and his brother ride off into the horizon. as such, he felt an abyss form within his stomach, guilt rousing it all the more from the words he left unspoken. he had waved his brother off jeopardy, but of his life he was not as concerned as he was with yours. all his youth and adulthood, he had admired you from afar, shadowed you everywhere you ventured, unstable when he was not near you.
and now, you crossed middle earth without him, courage and bravery in your heart as you promised to fight for those who could not, if the task should fall to you. he had failed to seize the opportunity to reveal to you the object of his desires. and now, as you disappeared into the distance, he feared it was too late for another opportunity to present itself.
he may see no tomorrow, what with the armies of mordor inching closer to minas tirith, each time leaving gondor with fewer men to defend its borders.
but he hoped, he let himself hope.
。+゚☆゚+。★。+゚☆゚+。★。+゚☆゚+。★。+゚☆゚+。
the trials of the fellowship had taken much of your spirit, only to be stressed by the fall of gandalf the grey. the elderly wizard had provided you with much wisdom and a perfected skillset, and his absence was dearly felt, but by no one more than yourself, someone he might have considered his family.
frodo and sam had begun the disbandment of your company, leaving you behind to pursue a trickier path, but one they must face alone. boromir had been seriously injured, almost fatally, enough that merry and pippin had been captured by an orc pack. but they had now returned, safe and sound where they belonged. though, dear pippin could not stay out of trouble for long.
and gandalf, it seemed, could not stay fallen for long.
“what’s going to happen to me?” asked pippin gloomily, kicking pieces of hay in the barn as you waited for gandalf.
“nothing is going to happen to you, dear pippin. you are safe from sauron if you remain with me and gandalf,” you assured him, ruffling his loose, curly locks.
“how long have you known gandalf?” asked pippin curiously.
“oh! a long time now—since my infancy. he took me under his wing long ago, and i have much to be grateful for,” you smiled fondly.
“i don’t think he likes me,” pippin frowned. “but then, i suppose, i am very accident prone.”
“i think sometimes you do without thinking. but you are young, and gandalf knows this. but he has lived many years, and can sometimes forget what ails the youth, such as yourself,” you explained, and added: “he cares for your safety, otherwise he would not get so angry.”
pippin seemed to accept this truth with a sunny disposition, his mood greatly improving upon hearing your explanation, taking it for nothing but the truth.
“merry!” he cried, rushing off to greet his friend.
“y/n,” called boromir, offering you a full water canister, in addition to your own. “do send my brother my well wishes.”
“of course, boromir. i am sure he will be delighted to hear of you.”
boromir laughed lightly. “yes, a brother’s bond is strong. though, i am sure he will be much more inclined to be delighted with your return.”
you smiled bashfully, turning away as heat crept into your cheeks. a hearty laugh sounded from behind you, and boromir clapped your back. “i see much,” he reminded you. "safe journey!" he called as he exited the barn in search of aragorn.
with a weepy send off between merry and pippin, you, gandalf and pippin set off for minas tirith. a flutter in your heart arose at the chance of seeing faramir again, barely entertaining the thought that he had fallen to an orc’s sword or axe. faramir was the best of his ranks, no doubt he was alive and well. and boromir’s encouragement did little to settle your nerves—the thought of reciprocation was almost too much to bear.
three day’s ride felt like nothing, despite the tribulations you’d been through these past months, for faramir awaited at the end of your journey. as the white city peeked above the distant horizon, shaded with hues of pink and orange, you pushed faster through the expanse that kept you from your destination.
pippin slept against gandalf’s chest, somehow unbothered by the erratic journey. and before long, your two horses were climbing the streets of minas tirith, warning passersby of your coming. the white tree in pippin's vision stood strong, undead—a ray of hope remained for frodo and sam.
you were home.
some hours had passed in gondor, no faramir in sight, and within that time the steward had made perfectly clear he would not call for aide, nor would he accept the ranger as king. but it all temporarily came to naught as the cries of nazgûl sounded from beyond the city walls.
hundreds of horses raced from osgaliath across the grassy expanse, fleeing from the fight they could not win against such forces. the winged beasts took them from above, grasping several men and horses between their talons and launching them through the air.
your sank through your chest, palms instantly bearing sweat as you feared for faramir’s safe return. he was, quite clearly, outnumbered by many, though he had proved to make a rational decision in the midst of war by ordering his men to fall back. still, the terror that gripped you was all-consuming, almost enough to bring you to your knees, for you could scarcely bear to watch.
you turned to gandalf in silent, desperate worry, and he understood the urge you felt to flee the castle walls and help in some way if you could, if it meant they would be saved.
you and gandalf rode out. a light from gandalf’s staff, bright and unrelenting forced the nazgûl away and brought the army of men to safety, faramir included. you could see him, almost clearly in the ranks of his men, riding fast to the city gate. he dared to turn and meet your gaze. the fear had subsided, though the adrenaline remained, and you breathed a heavy sigh of relief, closing your eyes and letting the wind whip through your hair as you silently thanked silent forces for this fortune.
when the danger had slipped away, faramir dismounted his horse and wasted no time in approaching you. he was breathless, tired, but alert. it was a quick, silent moment you thought he might break with a laugh or a welcoming embrace, but instead, questioned you of his brother, to which you informed him of his safety and health. he turned to pippin with a start next, filling you and gandalf with unbridled hope as he revealed he had seen two halflings alive and well not so long ago.
and afterwards, with as much decorum between the two of you as distant strangers, he walked with you and gandalf to meet his father. quietly, he fell back in line with you, conversing with you rather formally, despite that not ten minutes before he almost deserted decency to embrace you without hesitation. but he restrained himself, for what reason he could not quite remember.
entering the castle, feeling, finally, much safer now that he was deep within the city, he let himself look at you. you seemed well, and he hoped that was how you truly felt too. he thought of you often in your absence, though over time, little details and intricacies of your features had slipped away from memory. but now that they were before him again, he smiled familiarly, admiring you for all that you were.
“i must replenish myself,” faramir informed you, hoping you might follow him so he would be blessed with a moment alone with you.
“yes, of course,” was your meek response.
he hesitated slightly, unaware if you had caught onto his subtle indication and were politely refusing or whether it had passed over your head completely. and so he left without another word, jaw clenched and shaking his head at the fool he had made himself look.
“well, aren’t you going to follow him?” asked pippin in disbelief when he was far enough away that his little comment would go unheard.
“whatever do you mean, little one?” you asked with a scoff.
“that is clearly a man who wishes to be followed!”
you trailed his gaze, catching faramir looking behind, but laughed it off instantly. “i- no. you’re mistaken.”
“i am not!” replied pippin, looking to gandalf for approval.
you looked to the old wizard yourself too, hoping for assurance on your behalf, but found nothing of the sort as he smirked at pippin and raised his eyebrows. with nothing leaving his lips, you understood perfectly the meaning of his silence.
most embarrassed by the scene, you hurried off in pursuit of the gentlemen who had left you behind in the hopes that you would follow. but for all your desires that he might wish for you the way you wished for him, catching the signs of this reciprocation was much more complicated than you might have imagined.
you turned down many passages, walked through several corridors, completely in the dark as to where he might have gone. you were so caught up in looking for him, in fact, that you missed him completely, and only found yourself face to face with the man when he called you back.
he had been staring at an old piece of art in the castle, one he must have seen and admired a dozen times before, but had needed something with which to occupy himself as he waited and hoped to see you.
“i was looking for you,” was all you spoke, unsure of how to begin.
“you found me, it seems,” he laughed. “with a little aid.”
he let his smile fade slowly, searching for the words in his crowded mind so that he might perfectly convey all that he thought in regards to his feelings for you. he gestured to an empty bench before the painting that hung tall, sitting close beside you.
“i have been meaning, for some time now, to tell you that which i have kept from you,” he began, keeping you on the edge of your seat. “from our youth, though i did not know it then, i have felt for you something i have never felt for another. and…” his breath was trembling, his eyes fixed to his hands. you took them warmly into yours, and this forced him to meet your eyes, where he found the utmost encouragement. “and when you left those weeks ago, i have regretted every moment since that i did not tell you then exactly how i felt.”
“and how do you feel?” you asked him, needing to hear it after so long.
“i feel…i feel as if- as if you- no. when i am in battle,” said he, “and my sword is kicked from my grasp, the enemy bearing down upon me, it is not, though perhaps it should be, for my men that i find the strength to stand again, to fight with my bare hands if i must. it is not for the approval of my father, nor even for my brother. when i am an inch from death, i find my strength in you, i find my courage in you. my hope, in the thought that i would see you again.”
“faramir,” you whispered through a breath of disbelief, that an honourable man such as he would care for you so deeply, a wayward soul under the influence of a wandering wizard. “i could not wish for a better man to have said these words to me. you are the best i could hope for, and truly i did hope for you,” you laughed through your tears, struggling to find breath under the weight of this joyous revelation.
“my y/n,” he chuckled, his teary eyes following the down-turn of your head as you pulled his hands up to your lips.
cupping your jaw delicately, he raised your eye-line to meet his, gazing upon you like a revered work of art. softly, he brushed your tears away with the pad of his thumb, leaning in cautiously but eagerly for something which the both of you had craved for an eternity. his mouth brushed yours tentatively, opening your lips to accommodate his own. and the pair of you were set ablaze, suddenly and feverishly reaching for each other as if you were not close enough already—his tunic gripped between your fingers, your hand over his neck while his arm snuck around your waist and fingers tangled into your hair.
distantly, he heard his father’s bellows, and it pulled him from you reluctantly. resting his forehead against yours, he regained much of the breath he had lost in your shared embrace, taking a moment to recover.
“i must go,” he said lowly, the baritone in his voice causing you to shiver.
“come and find me when you are done.”
“i would not think to do anything else,” he whispered, kissing the crown of your head before stoically marching towards his father’s inevitable disapproval.
though his approval, in comparison to yours, was trivial.

Lotr characters caring for you when you're sick
Tumblr media
Samwise:
Dear Sam! Oh bless his kind heart! He would cook you a delicious soup and would cuddle with you, keeping you warm and safe, even tucking you in with a blanket one of his sisters made for you.
He soothingly rubbed your back when you would throw up and hold your hair.
He gives angry glares at the others for being too loud and watches over you like a guardian, protecting you from anything which could disturb your peaceful slumber.
He even offers to do your laundry or other chores, he would basically do anything for you, but you tried your best to explain that it really wasn't necessary.
Along with Sam's help you were able to feel better very soon.
"Now don't you worry Y/N. I've made you some good soup to make you feel better in no time."
Tumblr media
Frodo:
Oh boy! Frodo knows what's it's like to feel extremely sick.
So of course he immediately sympathized with you.
He would read to you, to distract you from your throbbing headache. He also would write you cute, little "get well soon" cards and draw on them too.
He's also curious and wants to know how he can help you more, so he does a lot of research about your illness.
He's always asking if you need anything and is super gentle while you're sick.
Almost treating you, as if you were made of porcelain, he's kinda sad he can't do more to stop your suffering but you told him how very thankful you are that he's there for you.
Tumblr media
Aragorn:
When Aragorn found out you were sick he became immediately worried.
He would constantly check if you're okay and would try to get you to see Elrond.
You tried your hardest to explain to him it's nothing too serious, but he couldn't help but worry.
He grew up among the elves, so he knows about their wonderful elvish medicine.
He regulary checks on you and even sings to you softly.
Aragorn's a very good healer. He would try to care for you as best as he can and in his care you'll feel better in no time.
"There, there meleth nìn, I'll take good care of you now. I promise."
Tumblr media
Legolas:
Legolas was so scared for you.
It was very uncommon for elves to get sick, so of course he was worried about you.
He'll try to ease the pain by giving you a massage to ease your sore muscles, or by pressing a cold rag to your forehead.
Your headache made you sensitive to loud noises, so Legolas would often whisper to you.
He's afraid his normal voice would be too loud.
It's honestly really adorable how much he cares about you and you found him to be very endearing.
He'd stay right beside your bedside, guarding you and you both watch the raindrops outside hit the glass window
Tumblr media
Faramir:
He's a gentle and caring soul so of course he'd be anxious when you're sick.
Faramir would give you flowers and place them on your nightstand, decorating your room with the beautiful leaves to make you feel better.
He'd hold your hand and brush the hair out of your face. Tugging you in cozy blankets when you fall asleep and bringing you tea.
Faramir would try to help you stay connected with the outside world. Telling you about news when you're too sick to go outside.
And if you can go outside but your body is still too sore he'd happily drive you around in a wheelchair to get you some fresh air

Note
hi! i found your blog yesterday and i’m obsessed! i was wondering if you could do one where in Y/N’s culture give someone a hand-crafted object (like a wood carving), it’s a way of confessing without actually saying that they like that person, but only Gandolf and Aragorn know since they have traveled all around Middle Earth! Thanks so much for your time!
Thank you, I’m glad you like this blog! I hope you’ll enjoy your post!
・゚✧ Aragorn.
Tumblr media
Indeed, Aragorn knows exactly what you mean when you gift him the wooden amulet you crafted over the past few days. He smiles fondly, aware of what this means for you. He’d take it the exact same way as he would a verbal love confession, takes your hands in his and gives you a kiss ♡ He'd also ask you about the exact cultural implications of the symbols you used etc.!
・゚✧ Arwen.
Tumblr media
Arwen has been kind to you ever since you started your work as a blacksmith in Rivendell. She is very impressed with your work and you soon start to fall for her. When her favourite bracelet breaks one day, you see your chance to use your newly-learned skills of Elven craftmanship to make her a new one. Though part of you wished she understood your gift’s meaning, Arwen’s unknowing reaction makes you just as happy: she’s beaming with joy and giving you a tight hug!
・゚✧ Boromir.
Tumblr media
Boromir spends days wracking his brains about the hand-crafted sheath you made for him. Every time he turns it in his hands, he can feel the energy and affection you poured into his gift. Still, its true meaning stays a mystery to him… until one day, he’d not-so-casually ask you, “It doesn’t carry a deeper meaning, does it?”
・゚✧ Elrond.
Tumblr media
The day Elrond finds the artful bookmark you crafted for him on his table, wrapped in a gorgeous leaf, he starts researching your culture. He faintly remembers hearing of love customs from your home region but thinks this couldn’t be possibly true! After a whole day of reading, he’d ask you for a conversation and talks about it to you, always respecting your culture’s habit of not outright stating your feelings. He’d be very understanding.
・゚✧ Éomer.
Tumblr media
Éomer is convinced that the little horse figurine you carved out of the most gorgeous walnut wood is a present you gave him out of fascination and respect for Rohirrim culture. While he is happy about the kind gesture, he is entirely oblivious to its meaning. So one day, when you absolutely couldn’t take it anymore, you’d had to take him aside and break your culture’s customs – because otherwise, this man wouldn’t get it!
・゚✧ Éowyn.
Tumblr media
While Éowyn may be unaware of your culture’s custom, she does recognise how much gifting her handcrafted objects means to you. So, she soon starts making something for you in return – albeit clumsily – but still you can’t help but swoon! You start to develop a playful gift exchange that Éowyn partakes in so lovingly that in the end, it doesn’t really matter that she didn’t know of your specific custom. Since you get together anyway, you can just tell her afterwards!
・゚✧ Faramir.
Tumblr media
Whatever you craft for Faramir, be it a bookmark, a tool, or a piece of jewellery – he’d treasure it religiously. Maybe he’d even build a shrine around it, hidden away in his quarters, where he’d sit down and think of you. Imagine his shock when he learns (possibly through Gandalf) of your gift’s true meaning – the poor man would blush like a sunrise, unable to speak to you for the next few days. He is ashamed of his perceived ignorance toward you and overwhelms you with the most romantic love confession in return!
・゚✧ Frodo.
Tumblr media
Frodo would be very casual about the notebook you crafted for him. He uses it as his journal, for flower pressing, and recipes. Everybody keeps asking about the gorgeous binding and covers, and he always redirects everyone to you with great pride. He is glad that your crafting skills finally find recognition in the Shire. However, since you only craft for those you love, you always have to send the other Hobbits away, until one day you admit to Frodo the truth behind your gift, which he takes with great joy.
・゚✧ Galadriel.
Tumblr media
Galadriel is convinced that the ring you made for her carries a deeper meaning, she just can’t quite put her finger on it, with you being so mysterious. It intrigues her, since usually everyone is an open book to her. When she asks you anew about your gift, you can’t help but give in to her warm telepathic voice, and confess your feelings to her. She’d light up with joy – “What a wonderful gift! The most precious anyone has to give!”
・゚✧ Gandalf.
Tumblr media
For Gandalf, you’d craft a new staff or wand. You don’t expect much when you gift it to him, so his sudden attention comes as a surprise to you: “You said you’ve made this yourself? It is an artful present…” His soft, loving glance would instantly tell you he understood. You share a blissful laugh, before he would deny any knowledge about your culture.
・゚✧ Gimli.
Tumblr media
You’d gift Gimli a precious stone or gem you found in the mines, having perfected it into a shape that’s perfect for his collection. When you gift it to him, his reaction puzzles you though: “No gem in this world is more precious than your presence in my life…” He wanted to confess to you too – what impeccable timing!
・゚✧ Haldir.
Tumblr media
Haldir is the worst person to make gifts for – while he trains his face not to show it, his confusion is still very much readable to you, now that you know him. The archery gloves you made for him are stored away deep in his travel bag, never to be seen again. It’s not until Aragorn secretly informs him of your region’s customs that Haldir finally understands your gesture – which leaves him even more irritated...! He is considerate enough to say “thank you” at least, with a timid kiss ♡
・゚✧ Legolas.
Tumblr media
Legolas would be thrilled that you made him an arrow, not meant for battle but prestigious decoration. The affection and care you poured into your hand-crafted gift do not escape his sharp attention, whenever he touches the glistening arrow and turns it in his hands. Intrigued by these feelings, he starts ‘investigating’ – meaning he teases you about a possible crush. He’d only stop when he sees how important this topic is too you, which is when he finally understands.
・゚✧ Merry.
Tumblr media
For Merry, you’d craft a new pipe. He is excited about your gift but oblivious to the deeper meaning behind it. That said, his sharp attention does catch your slight blush when you give it to him. It makes him think – and after days and days of pondering, he starts a courting offensive on his own, until the day you finally get together!
・゚✧ Pippin.
Tumblr media
The wood carving you’d gift Pippin is originally meant for decoration, but he carries it around his neck as an amulet. He proudly tells everyone who made it – and knowing how close the two of you are, it doesn’t take a genius to understand your gift’s true meaning. The situation would eventually solve by Pippin telling you, completely confused: “I thought we already were an item?! Of course I love you too!”
・゚✧ Sam.
Tumblr media
Out of all the Middle-Earth characters, Sam probably appreciates handcrafting and artisanship the most, being a craftsman himself. His reaction to your wood carving of a sunflower is appropriately flustered: “This must’ve taken quite some time to make, I’d say. Turned out so beautiful, too. Not that I expected anythin’ else from you! You are very skilled in many areas, after all…” His beautiful little speech charms you so much that you end up confessing your love unconventionally! Be it verbally or with a surprise kiss ♡

What You Wish For
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Based off this imagine at Gondorimagines - Imagine Faramir always kissing your hand as he’s greeting you, and while you think it’s just a court formality, he can hardly wait for another chance to do it. A short exercise. :)
What You Wish For
Your scent was mind-spinning. It tested his willpower more and more cruelly with each new kiss he laid on your delicate fingers.
Just like hundreds of times before, he didn’t let go of your hand immediately, and, just like hundreds of times before, you either didn’t notice it or ignored him violating the rules of propriety in front of your very eyes.
You never smiled back at him the way he craved for. Not a genuine, sincere gift of a smile you shared with lower-ranking courtiers. Lower-ranking men.
In a spell of bitter humor Faramir wondered whether they envied his right to touch you, if casually, as much as he envied their chances to earn a mercy sweeter than what he himself was forced to be content with.
Nods were what he’d been enjoying so far. Bows, so pointedly polite he couldn't but suspect they spoke of underlying annoyance at this ritual of adoration he practiced helplessly, on a daily basis and quite in vain.
The price of feigning indifference was starting to feel too high.
“The day is good, lord Faramir.”
The softness in your voice caught him off guard. He snapped his head up, for once distracted from gloating at how perfectly your fingers fitted into the grasp of his calloused ones.
No words sprang to his tongue. Faramir was shrivelling under your gaze, searching for a reply frantically, yet the shreds of thoughts his mind was spitting out were either overly aloof or equally rustic.
Oh, he refused to believe it.
“I will see you again today, I hope,” you went on in as friendly as manner.
It was his turn to nod at you, his neck stiff and disobedient.
And your smile suddenly became all he could wish for, but did nothing to improve his mood.
He just felt that when you saw him again today, as you hoped or didn’t really hope for, he’d be drunk as a fish.

Whispers Among Ruins
Tumblr media
or "Faramir's Three Confessions"
pairing : Faramir X G/N reader
Summary : Faramir has been deeply in love with you for what feels like decades and, he decided it's finally time he does something about it. But, sadly for him, the universe has decided to make this mission a challenge.
Warnings : war/fighting, mention of injuries, he calls the reader "dear" and "my love" but other than that, just cute fluff + some strong angst<3
A/N : I love this man more than life itself. But this app clearly doesn't have enough fanfics with him so this is my contribution!
⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾
Day One : The Library
The sun had dipped below the horizon, casting a soft glow across the city of Minas Tirith. Faramir, the Steward of Gondor, paced nervously in the grand library, clutching a worn parchment in his hand. His heart raced as he rehearsed the words he longed to say to you, a person who had captured his attention and stirred emotions within him like the gentlest of melodies. Faramir had chosen this moment, thinking he would find solace amidst the books and knowledge that adorned the walls. He spent his whole evening, night and morning torturing his poor mind about how he should do it, if he even should do it
As he turned a corner, he spotted you, your eyes twinkling in the candlelight as you lost herself in a tome. He took a deep breath, ready to confess his feelings at last.
"You..." he began, his voice catching in his throat. "Dear, I... I have something I must tell you."
You looked up, frowning ever so lightly before smiling at him brightly, making him forget who and where he was for more than a second. With the golden light of your candle illuminating your face ever so lightly, your hair in a mess and your beautiful hands gently holding a page of your book, he couldn't help but think how beautiful you are. And that thought alone made him question everything, so much that he stood there, silent, simply looking at you. Before Faramir could continue, right after he took control of himself again, the doors of the library creaked open, and a servant entered with quick feet towards him, interrupting their intimate moment.
"My lord, urgent news has arrived. The council demands your immediate presence." The servant announced, bowing deeply.
Faramir's heart sank, his confession hanging unspoken in the air. He turned to you, frustration etching lines upon his brow. "Forgive me, my dear. Duty calls. We shall speak later."
With a heavy sigh, Faramir reluctantly departed, following the servant, leaving you with unanswered questions and a longing that mirrored his own.
Day two : The Garden of Stars
Weeks had passed since your interrupted encounter in the library, and Faramir had finally found the perfect setting to reveal his heart to you. The Garden of Stars, as you liked to call it; a secluded oasis within Minas Tirith, offered a breathtaking view of the night sky, twinkling with celestial wonders.
Faramir stood at the garden's entrance, a bouquet of delicate flowers clutched tightly in his hand. His heart pounded with anticipation, his nerves threatening to betray his intentions once more. This time, he was determined to let his feelings be known. As he stepped forward, a gust of wind swept through the garden, rustling the leaves and petals around him. The moment his eyes landed on your form, it was like the wind couldn't touch him as he didn't feel it's freezing breeze. He approached you with hurried steps, taking his cloak off the moment he saw you shivering. Gently, as to not startle you, he puts the warm fabric on your shaking shoulders, making you turn around to face him. The moment your eyes met his, a large smile appeared on your face, making him feel so warm that suddenly, it felt like there was a blazing sun in the starry night sky.
"Faramir !" You exclaimed, making yourself comfortable in his cloak. "Finally you arrived, I was starting to freeze..."
"My deepest apologies. It wasn't my attention." He whispered, embarrassed with himself.
You smiled gently, slowly taking his shaking cold hand in yours, making him look up with wide eyes, his face reddening in an instant.
"You are a busy man, do not be sorry." You squeezed his hand with both of yours, trying to warm it up. "No matter how long, I will always wait for you, even if I have to freeze !"
You laughed after saying that, but Faramir was so touched by what you said that he felt his whole body react to it; from the deep tingles in the lower part of his belly to his heart fluttering rapidly and even his eyes becoming suddenly blurry with tears. He steeled himself, ready to finally pour out his soul to the person who held his heart captive with a tight grip. But the heavens seemed to conspire against him. Raindrops began to fall, turning the Garden of Stars into a shimmering sanctuary drenched in a melancholic mist. He hesitated, defeated, but seeing you looking at him with such love in your eyes, that small smile that you only offered to him playing on your lips, your hands grasping tighter around his the moment the drops started to hit you, all that while laughing at how drenched you were, made him decide that he couldn't let you go again, that he couldn't live a second longer without letting his feelings flow.
"You, my dear." Faramir began, his voice steady. "I have loved you from the moment our paths crossed. Every smile, every word shared, has only deepened my affection. I cannot contain it any longer."
But just as Faramir reached out to grasp, with his free hand yours, he noticed your furrowed brows before you bursted out laughing, making his heart sink at the bottom of his stomach. Suddenly, you took his hand before yelling.
"I DIDN'T HEAR A THING ! " You smiled, your eyes closing. "LET'S GET INSIDE !"
That when he realised, he's heartfelt confession dissolved amidst the downpour, his words fading into the symphony of nature's interference. He forced a smile, letting himself be dragged by you, cursing at the weather. He could only have a regretful smile as the rain poured down, looking at the back of your head as you ran, the weight of his unheard desires echoing in the damp silence.
Day 3 : The Battle's Interruption
Amidst the chaos of war, Faramir's heart remained steadfast in its resolve. He knew he had to seize any opportunity to confess his love to you, even in the midst of the darkest of times. Especially in the midst of the darkest times, for those can be the last...
As the clash of swords reverberated around him, Faramir spotted you, your sword dancing with grace and determination. He knows how strong you are, how hard you train to be able to defend yourself and others, but he cannot help worry for you, no matter how skilled you get. As he watched you from afar, a draining thought dawn's him;
"It could be mine or hers last moment alive. One, if not both of us, could get..."
With adrenaline coursing through his veins, he dashed toward you, his armor clanking with each stride, every enemy coming his way being slashed without a second glance.
"You, my dear !" Faramir shouted, his voice cutting through the cacophony of battle. You whipped your head around, eyes widened with panic at the desperate sound of his voice only for your gaze to soften once your eyes caught his.
"My heart yearns to tell you that you are the beacon of hope in my darkest days !" He yells at the top of his lungs, his eyes watering. "The love I hold for you has only grown stronger amidst the turmoil and uncertainty !"
You get a dagger out of your boot, shorting it straight between the eyes of an orc who was getting close to Faramir. His gaze didn't even falter, staying fixed into yours, as if you were the only one standing here, amongst this chaos.
"My love for you cannot be contained in me anymore !" He puts a hand on his heart, clutching his chest. "It needs to be free or I will spiral into madness !"
Just as Faramir reached for you, a sudden surge of enemies appeared, threatening to overwhelm both of you. Swords clashed, arrows flew, and the ground trembled beneath your feet. Faramir fought valiantly, his eyes never leaving your form, who matched his every move with unwavering bravery. Even through the ear deafening battle sounds, your voice and his calling each other's names was the only thing that could be heard, so powerful it overpowered the sound of flesh being cut open. In the midst of the chaos, Faramir stumbled, a deep wound searing through his side. Pain seeped into his every fiber, but his determination remained unyielding. He fought through the agony, his eyes filled with a fervent resolve, his voice breaking one last time while calling out your name. But that's when he felt it, your burning touch, suddenly grabbing with a surprising force his shaking and bloodied hand. Yet, before he could find the opportunity to finally speak the words that burned within his heart, a cacophonous blast resonated through the battlefield. The ground shook violently, throwing Faramir off his feet and separating him again from you. As he struggled to rise, the smoke cleared, revealing a new threat: a massive siege engine, armed and ready to unleash its destructive power. Faramir's heart sank as he realized the imminent danger it posed but it sank the moment he realised he lost you. His duty compelled him to protect his people, but his heart yearned for one last chance to express his love. His father's face suddenly appeared, the disgust and disappointment visible even with his blurry vision. He had to be a good Captain, a good son and a good soldier. His duty called him. With a heavy heart, he turned away from where you once stood, not even daring to look at the many bodies laying on the floor fearing to see yours, leaving his confession lost amidst the clamor of battle.
Despite the chaos, Faramir fought with all his might, leading his troops to victory and ensuring the safety of the city. Yet, amidst the celebrations that followed, a deep sorrow lingered within him. The chance to confess his love had slipped through his grasp once again, the weight of missed opportunities weighing heavily on his soul. The battle had been fierce, leaving scars upon the land and hearts alike. As the dust settled and the sun began its descent, Faramir stood upon the remnants of the battlefield, his eyes searching the faces of the fallen, a heavy weight upon his soul. With each fallen comrade he recognized, his heart sank deeper into despair. But amidst the sea of fallen warriors, his eyes caught a glimpse of a familiar figure in the distance, a figure that ignited a spark of hope within him. It was you, battered and bruised, but unmistakably alive, your chest rising and falling with shaking breaths. Faramir's legs moved of their own accord, carrying him swiftly toward you, his lips whispering your name again and again, like a mad man. The emotions that had been buried within him surged forward, overpowering any remnants of fear or doubt. His heart swelled with both relief and a newfound determination. It wasn't too late. When he finally reached your wounded body, his blue eyes met yours, a mixture of disbelief, joy and pure relief crossed your face. You reached out a trembling bloody hand, your voice a mere whisper.
"Faramir... I thought... I thought you were lost." Her fingertips layed weakly on his bearded cheek, staining them with blood. "I...waited for you...I promised..."
Faramir took your hand into his own, nuzzling his face in your palm, ignoring the metallic scent coming from it, his grip firm and unwavering. "And I thought I had lost you, my love. But the Valar have granted us another chance, another opportunity to be together."
A mix of tears and laughter danced in your eyes as she took in Faramir's words. "I never... stopped loving you, Faramir, even in... even in the darkest moments..."
Faramir's voice trembled with raw emotion as he gazed into your unfocused eyes. "Nor did I, my dear. From the very depths of my soul, my heart has always belonged to you." He said gently, his shaking voice making it hard to speak clearly.
With that, Faramir drew you into his arms, holding you tightly, as if afraid you would vanish if he let go. The battlefield faded away, and in that moment, there was only the two of you, bound by a love that had withstood the test of time and tribulation. Amidst the ruins, you both stood, sharing a timeless embrace. And finally, as the sun dipped below the horizon, your breathe evening out Faramir found the strength to confess his deepest emotions, his voice filled with a resolute certainty.
"My dear, my love, I have longed to say these words to you. No duty or rain, not even Death herself will stop me." He took your chin into his fingers. "I love you with a love that surpasses the trials we have endured. You are my light, my hope, and my salvation. Will you walk this path with me, forever?"
Your eyes shimmered with unshed tears as you whispered.
"Yes, Faramir. My heart...has always belonged to you, too. Together, we shall face whatever... lie ahead."
And in that moment, Faramir's heart soared, finally unburdened by the weight of unspoken words. After all this time, all this longing and hardship, finally both your hearts were shared as one.
And to keep his beating, he needed yours to do the same.

Eomer X OC Fluff Scene
This is an excerpt from a fic I’ve been working on...
Tumblr media
Eomer was bent over a table. A map stretched across its length. There were lands he had memorized listed, where his memory filled in the gaps with ridges and dips, valleys and streams too little to be noted on the map’s face. Grimbol pointed to a section where a grouping of farms laid on the outskirts of The East Fold.
His eyes squinted at the map in search of something.
“I have news of the Hlud if I could just find it…” The old voice said.
The king reached and pointed to the spot where the Hlud lived. “Here, Grim.”
“Ah, yes. The Hlud reports of - .”
There was sound in the Golden Hall that echoed through the barren aisles. It was cleared of the day. Post celebration come down was still underway since the grand royal party a few days prior.
Even Eomer was dressed down in tunic and leggings, devoid of finery.
He gave little consequence to the noise, as he expected it was Heferth back with reports of how much the celebration had cost the coffers. However, he shot another look quickly when he realized it was Lady Eira in a simple loose dress he recognized from one of Rohan’s wardrobes. It was especially remembered by Eomer. It was one of his mothers.
“Lady Eira,” he said with stern surprise. “You should be resting.”
“I have done naught but rest, your grace.”
Her gait was stilted. Her face winced with each motion.
Eomer stepped away from his advisor at the high seat and approached the wandering woman with no business attempting to walk after an injury like the one she had suffered.
The memory of her warm blood between his fingers still filled his mind, never to leave.
“Are you in search of something, my lady?”
She shook her head. The muscles of her neck tightened. Her hand reached forward and grasped to the edge of a nearby table, wobbling ever so slight. “Just a stroll.”
His heart sped as he neared. The thick cling of her sweat struck his nose. She exude too much to be healed. His brow fell.
“I don’t need tending to, so don’t even ask,” she snapped.
When her eyes finally met his, there was a cruel twist in their bodies. The pallid color of her face stabbed him further through.
Theodred’s face. It was back at the river, pulling his beloved cousin from the blood stained waters, seeing that same lifeless tone to his body. That tangy swell in his mouth brought him back to that haunted moment in time where chaos surged throughout him and stayed for many long months.
Eomer blinked away from the memory. “I am not asking. I am telling.” He tilted his head with a warning look. “Please, retire.”
Her jaw clicked in place.
“I will escort you back to your chambers.” His arm rounded behind her back to direct her back the way she’d came to prevent any falls to the floor.
The lady stiffened her grip on the table. “No thank you. Your grace.”
Eomer shook his head. There was no option in his mind that would allow her to walk around his palace so gravely injured without care. The risk to her body was too great. He’d be on constant edge.
His hands practically shook in fear. “I will not permit you to continue in this state.”
“I am not yours to worry about.”
That stung his heart. He blinked back his surprise, recovering quickly.
“I swore your safety to your friends before they departed,” he stated evenly. “My sister would have my head if I let you injure yourself further. Just stop being so self-righteous and let yourself be cared for.”
The fact that she refused his help festered deeper and deeper as time passed.
When her knees buckled, he reached out for her on instinct. His heart beating fast as she fell right into his arms. The fragile trembling of her body from so little movement settled his resolve. She was far too ill to be upright.
He cradled her against his chest as he lifted her up.
“Eomer,” she slipped, forgoing his title. “Put me down. I can walk on my own.”
The servants of the palace parted from his way as he marched through his palace halls. It was a worn path of memory back to his sister’s old rooms. All the while, Eira resisted. Her body was too weak to fight. The tongue within her mouth, however, was another story.
“Put me down. I am not some damsel. My legs are capable of walking. This is so unbecoming a king, you know. Th-they do not permit such actions by royals.”
“I was not born to be a king,” he said evenly. Her weight was nothing to his strength. “And I was not raised to let a lady suffer so.”
They made it to the door. It, the last obstacle in his path.
“Oh,” she said. The journey over, there was no point in fighting his hold. “I can get that.”
The bed was the only place he would place her.
His leg raised and kicked against the wood. The door flew open at the force and clattered against the wall behind.
“Hot water. Cloths. Oils,” he shouted.
Eira’s body relaxed in his arms. He felt her settle further, easier to hold to his body. A subtle excitement filled his veins.
“Have you eaten?” He asked her quietly.
           “A little,” she admitted.
He turned his head around at the servants he knew lingered near. “And a meal. Bring it all to Lady Eira’s room immediately.” The door was kicked back closed behind him.
“You should stop calling me Lady Eira,” she murmured.
Her hands clasped behind his neck as he lowered her to the fluffy top of her bed. He released her only when he believed her settled in its hold.
“It gives them the wrong idea. Moreso with me staying in this room. I should be in the servants quarters or in a house out in the city. Not here.”
“Your wellbeing has been trusted to me,” he explained as he pulled the chair from the desk over to her bedside. “And I take care of those in my stead.”
Eira raised herself against the headboard of her bed. Her face turned lazy, less stiff. “I am not a lady, your grace.”
           “You are to me.”
He swore at the slightest coloring to her cheeks. The way her lips lifted from a thin line to the start of a smile had him in raptures. It was impossible to look away from her beautiful blue eyes and devious tongue that toyed with him – he was sure that she did – at every given opportunity.
A small knock was at the door. She raised herself, as if to get up to answer.
He put his hand to his chest. “Please,” he said gently. “Stay. Allow me.”
The doorway spilled a mess of servants all bearing gifts of food and drink and bandage and a steaming bowl of water. There was a stack of small cut cloths placed alongside the bowl. A hearty stuffed tray with roasted wild game and vegetables of the land with small dishes of spiced apples and small foraged berries. It was placed at her side on the bedspread.
Eomer nodded his head as the servants bowed in their leave. He made sure to close the door behind them.
He began to roll the long sleeves of his tunic. The rolling white cloud off the water had him wince ever so slight as his hands split the surface. He pulled a cloth into the waters, allowing it to swell with the heat before he wringed it free and brought it over to the side of the bed.
Lady Eira watched his motion through lazy eyes. Her head rested against the board for support. He saw the drain. What little she had done was too much.
She placed her wrist in his outstretched hand. He ran the cloth along the exposed flesh of her forearm and hand, taking care to be gentle against her skin. It was so slender in his hold. There were seldom things so small and dainty in the Riddermark.
“You are not what I expected,” she revealed after a time of watching him rinse her skin of the dense sweat throughout her. “Warrior king Eomer. Brave, bold, horse lord of Rohan.” When he said nothing on the matter, she continued. “I’ve heard of your brazen attitude, reckless and brave with stupidity. Your words are daggers, blunter than your spears but none the less piercing.” He kept quiet and allowed her mind to flow than staggered thought. He rather liked the fill of her voice. It chased away the flashbacks that took the heart of him at times. “It is not a learned behavior from Eowyn, I take it.”
That finally brought a small smile to his mouth. “Is that how I am spoken of in the other kingdoms?”
“It is said with respect,” she answered. “Seldom better spoke of, in terms of men. Aragorn excluded.”
He settled back to the seat at her bedside. The weight of many restless days pulled at him. A course jumpy ride through emotions had him stretched thin ready for rest.
“My parents died when I was young. My father, cut down by orcs. And not long after, my mother gave up. She seldom had the strength to get out of bed. I would cry and pull her arms and try to drag her out, but I was not strong enough to save her.” He cleared his throat. The words became a struggle to get out. “The only people left in the world were my sister, my cousin and my uncle. All of whom have gone on in these years. By one leave or another.”
Eira looked at him with a strange expression. He did not understand it.
“I hated that feeling.” Her voice was small as she picked at pieces of her dress.
           “What feeling,” he asked.
“Being left behind…I hated being left in Rivendell. My father would go and protect the border. Not a place for children, he’d say. He’d want me to tend to my studies and practice with my bow, but.” Her eyes swam in gentle waters. “All I ever wanted was to be with him.”
It was in that moment that Eomer was struck off his guard. He never said the words aloud, as they were too fragile for his tone, but he often felt that same desolate feeling of being left behind. It was first at the death of his father, then watching his mother live on in hell until she was granted enough peace to be freed. Eowyn lived fierce and wild. He had no choice but to keep up or else lose her, too.
There were so few in the world who knew how devastating it was to be the only one remaining.
Eira was a kindred soul. He felt it inside himself the more time passed. She was a piece that he recalled missing. Apart that he did not want to do without any longer.

Faramir!
Interest arises in Faramir’s mind the moment he hears a troupe of entertainers has rolled its way to Minas Tirith- quite unusual, indeed. Always one for the arts, though, he is determined to make his way to it at least once while he has the opportunity. After all, they have undertaken the great effort to erect a stage for the benefit of his people. Shuffling into the crowd, Faramir is unsure what to expect right up to the moment the curtain rolls upward, revealing a pair of players. The moment they speak, the setting changes and he is enveloped in story.
So enveloped, in fact, that by the end of it he feels compelled to rise up and make his way backstage with compliments. As soon as the curtain parts, his eyes meet yours, catching the way they flutter in surprise. “My apologies,” he tells you, “I was simply captured by what you showed today. Truly I am grateful to have made my way to your show.” “What,” you ask him, stepping closer, “is your name?” “Faramir, my lady,” he bows slightly, a hand across his chest before it reaches for yours. Letting him take your hand, you incline your head. “Asiya,” you say, “and I admire your love of theatre. Put me before a play and all the world fades.” “Put you in one and you have quite the same effect,” he remarks with a smile.
He cannot help asking if you have seen the great art of Minas Tirith, and when you say no he presses on to inquire if he might be the one to show you. Thus you find yourselves strolling through a great hall before poring over massive, intricate tapestries that have you both musing over the stories behind them, laughing lightly as you all but write a play together from it all. Your presence is natural to Faramir, his whole body relaxing in a way it simply did not around most, and he cannot help hoping you feel the same.
The next time he finds you, you are leaning out a window of all places, waving him down with a lovely grin. You’ve baked some fresh bread and are wondering if he would come in for some; there is soup also, a new recipe. “I suppose I was inspired today,” you joke as Faramir sits across from you. Your eyes shine as you ask him how it is. The picture is calm, domestic, and the whole thing brings heat to his face. When you finish your meal, discussing your favorite books, it is clear neither of you wish the night to end, so you leave for a stroll.
Draping his cloak over your shoulders, Faramir watches your movements, tracks your smile and mirrors it. “Minas Tirith is a place of beauty,” you remark, eyes tracing up to the sky. “It is,” he agrees, his gaze focused solely upon you, “a place of history, of many mighty works of men and yet you bring something new. I wish that the White City could always glow with such creation, such vibrance as you give it.” “Faramir,” you tease, swatting his arm lightly, “is this your way of trying to steal me?” “I would not have you parted from the things that enliven you so, that which brings the smile to your face, and yet I confess Minas Tirith has never shone so as when you entered it.” “Wow,” you reply, gorgeous lips parting and big brown eyes widening, diverting their full attention Faramir’s way, “I had intended to make a joke about your ploy working, but now I’ve simply lost my words entirely. Would that I had a script.”
“Well, you need no script for this.” And thus beneath Minas Tirith’s moonlight, under the shadow of soaring white towers and the glitter of stars alike, your lips met, Faramir’s hand cradling your cheek with tenderness you could never imagine.

Imagine where your first kiss with LotR characters would be ♡
Thank you for all your positive responses to my first post! I hope you’ll enjoy this one as well, it was a lot of fun to write!
・゚✧ Aragorn.
Tumblr media
Aragorn would make your first kiss absolutely romantic. He would take you to a moonlit spot he found in the forest, where you’d listen to a brook and the night birds as he holds your hand. Aragorn kisses you without expecting or demanding anything in return. He is content as long as he can be with you!
・゚✧ Arwen.
Tumblr media
Arwen would playfully guide you to her favourite tower in Rivendell by your hand. She’d smile brightly over her shoulder as you ascend the artful staircase to be closer to the night sky. She’d stargaze with you there, maybe show you a book or two about the Elvish constellations that she keeps up there. You would kiss over such a book, or maybe against the white balustrade.
・゚✧ Boromir.
Tumblr media
Boromir is well aware of his charms. When it comes to your first kiss, he teases and plays with you. However, once you share a quiet moment in the ruins of Osgiliath, he gives in to your advances. Leaning against a stone column, the usually shameless man grows silent against the comforting touch you provide.
・゚✧ Elrond.
Tumblr media
Elrond keeps his house very orderly. He takes it upon himself to sort the library, for example. Since you offered to help him, you have been working all afternoon. “This is the rest,” you’d say with a tired smile and a sigh as you set back the last books. Charmed by your blush of exhaustion in the golden sunlight, Elrond would smooth your hair back and lean in for a thank you kiss.
・゚✧ Éomer.
Tumblr media
Éomer would kiss you in the wide grasslands of the Riddermark. Your horseback ride has been interrupted by a sudden storm – the weather here is erratic – forcing you to find shelter in a rock formation. There, Éomer would make sure that you’re alright and dry, and as you’d touch, his heart would skip a beat at your damp hair and puffed lips. Being the man that he is, he’d kiss you passionately then, however offering you to “keep this between us and the rain” should you desire so.
・゚✧ Éowyn.
Tumblr media
Éowyn loves the hills and cliffs of Edoras. There, she has a secret hiding spot where she used to play as a kid. Now, she uses it for romantic rendezvous’, as she tells you with a smirk. You joke around a bit: “So, I’m your romantic tryst?” – “Perhaps you are!” – before you both lean in for a playful kiss that soon turns into something more romantic, truly.
・゚✧ Faramir.
Tumblr media
If it was up to Faramir, he’d kiss you anywhere – on the market in Minas Tirith, in the forests of Ithilien, or his castle after the Ring War. However, he couldn’t have chosen a better place than you: a flowery meadow where you sat down with drinks and books to tell each other fantastical stories about magic and dragons. While you lie in his arms, all you need to do is look up to find that Faramir wasn’t even reading the book you held up and instead just admired you. And then, cupping his cheek and gently guiding him toward you is just too tempting!
・゚✧ Frodo.
Tumblr media
Frodo would kiss you in front of your house in Hobbiton, having accompanied you home after a party at the Green Dragon. He’s a gentleman, so he’d always offer to walk home together. Maybe you’re both a bit tipsy, but either way, you end up leaning against a quiet corner of your house, hidden away in the night shadows, where you share a kiss that Frodo blissfully smiles into.
・゚✧ Galadriel.
Tumblr media
Galadriel would know you’d want to kiss her even before you yourself were really aware of it. One day, while sitting by a brook near her abode in Lothlórien, she’d grin at you because she knows very well the reason for your blush. She’d offer you to sit by her side, or maybe even on her lap, and converse with you before brushing your hair out of your face to finally give you that kiss!
・゚✧ Gandalf.
Tumblr media
Gandalf would finally kiss you after a long day of studying. You’ve been sitting in Minas Tirith’s library for hours, pondering ancient magic and recent developments. Once you call it a day, he’d look up and smile at you, like he just remembered something. Then he’d wish you goodnight. “But first…” You’d be lying if you said you haven’t seen it coming from a mile away, but of course you let him have his joy anyway!
・゚✧ Gimli.
Tumblr media
While usually brash and charming, Gimli is all quiet when it comes to asking you for a kiss while staying in your home. If he was wearing his helmet, he’d take it off, needless to say! You know he meant it to be a chaste forehead kiss, but you like to give your Dwarf a kiss worthy of a song – one that renders him speechless for at least a day. He’d definitely stumble over the doorstep on his way out!
・゚✧ Haldir.
Tumblr media
It is needless to say that Haldir would deny any desire to share a kiss with you until the very last second. After protecting the borders of Lothlórien from orcs, he is badly wounded and in dire need of your healing skills. Though he is ashamed of the vulnerability, he cannot help but marvel at your beauty and compassion while you’re immersed in your task. He’d guise the kiss he gives you in the moonlight as a shameful repayment, but by now you can read his marble face so well that you know better!
・゚✧ Legolas.
Tumblr media
Legolas would kiss you swiftly and lightly, like sunshine does when you step outside on a summer morning. Out in Mirkwood, he’d swirl around you like a butterfly to keep your fears away. You’d heard stories about the dark forest, but he knows just how to keep your mind off of it. “There,” he’d smile after your kiss, just shakily enough for you to realise he means this seriously after all, “the fear is gone.”
・゚✧ Merry.
Tumblr media
Merry would make a pompous scene out of kissing you. He’d announce it loudly, standing on a table in the Green Dragon. He’d get a blast out of your reaction, whether you’re blushing in embarrassment or laughing brightly at his joy. When he does join you by your chair and pecks your flushing face, the crowd cheers you on!
・゚✧ Pippin.
Tumblr media
Pippin would kiss you on a festive night. You’d run through the strawberry fields all night, always hunting the colourful fireworks sent by Gandalf from the hills above. After you break down beneath a tree, laughing and exhausted, Pippin would exclaim something like, “I could kiss you right now!” and quickly lean in.
・゚✧ Sam.
Tumblr media
Sam keeps a mental list of things he’d like to say to you someday. However, he’s so insecure he doesn’t even dream he’d ever get the chance. But when you’re sitting in the shadows of the sunflower field on a bright summer day, he’d want to seize that opportunity and babble in his adorably timid but sincere manner. But, being embarrassed by his own fumbling, he’d eventually go, “Maybe I oughtta kiss you instead, y’know?” Far be it from you to object!

IATCOD Chap. 23; Guardian of the White city
*Author's note*
Jesus am I on a roll with this story or what? Already I think this is a far better improvement than my last LOTR fic cause I've got TOO deep into this story to just let it be abandoned. Now I was thinking whether or not to wait till I got the next chapter done before I posted this but I decided to just go ahead and post this chapter and I hope that sometime this week I'll finish up the next chapter and let you all enjoy a double update in one week (that is if I can do it but who knows).
Not much for warnings except this is mostly battle sequences, there's talk of male hierarchy (apologizes if this chapter ends up a bit too political but this is what Hela has dealt with, especially in Gondor and MOSTLY with Denethor II).
Also IMAGE BELOW IS NOT MINE!!!! CREDIT GOES TO THE CREATOR I'M JUST USING IT FOR VISUAL PURPOSES ONLY.

_________________________________________________________
After the beacons were successfully lit, I had ran towards the armory in search of my old Gondorian armor that I had forged myself when I was Captain of the tower guard.  Now knowing Denethor I would’ve thought he’d had this destroyed or thrown out so that there was no more trace of a Celestial ever being here.
But surprisingly I had found it not in the chest I had kept it in, but in a special display near the King’s of old armories and weapons.  The armor shined and my sword still sharp.  As I finished fastening the last bit of my armor, I saw Haldir leaning against the doorway of our room.
Tumblr media
“You wish to come and fight at my side.” I told him.
“I know you wish to protect me but I cannot take being locked up in this kingdom another second.”
“And I wasn’t going to let you. But I have one very specific request you must follow.” I walked up to him and reached up to his face.  “When you see any Nazgul, do not engage with them. You will turn and ride as hard as you can.”
“I promise.” He said after a brief period of silence.
“Thank you, now come, our steed awaits near the gates.” I held the back of Haldir’s neck and used Makkari’s speed to get us there in just a few seconds where a dark brown horse with a white patch up along its nose stood.  He let out a startled neigh before he huffed and shook his head.  “So sorry Anárion. I didn’t mean to frighten you.”
“Anárion?” questioned Haldir.
“Yes, this here was Boromir’s horse. Ever since his rider’s death, I sent a message to him to return home and await my arrival.” I reached out and touched Anárion’s nose and he let out a few huffs.  “He’ll be our steed in battle. Now come, we don’t have much time.” We both got on top of Anárion and I ordered the guards to open the gate for us and soon I urged Anárion forward and with great speed, he rode us towards Osgiliath.
When we got within the city’s range, Haldir told me.
“The city’s overrun. Orc archers are up along the walls ahead of us.”
“Easy pickings.” My right wrist glowed and using Thena’s magic, I summoned a shield that stood just a few inches away from Anárion’s charging form and that was able to cover over both mine and Haldir’s heads like a roof.  Orcs arrows bounced off the shield as we charged in and Haldir used his bow and arrow to fire from behind and kill the six archers that had been shooting at us.
As we rode deeper into the city, I took Aeglos off from around my chest and stuck his blade into the ground before dragging it across the graveled path.  Thanks to some of Thena’s enhanced magic, his blade didn’t break as he was able to brig up some of the gravel and dust from the city floor to provide a good cover for some of the Gondorian soldiers or the Ithilien Rangers to use their weapons and strike the orcs down.
Anárion rode in a full gallop as I took back Aeglos and let out a battle cry holding him outward and impaled an orc from the back, raised its limped body in the air before it’s fly right off of Aeglos’s blade.  Haldir used his bow and arrows to bring down any orc that tried to come at us.
I could sense a good number of lives being lost further into the city but the outer rim still needed aid.
“Take the reins!” I cried to Haldir.
“What?!”
“Just take the reins! Keep aiding the men along the outer perimeter of the city!” I quickly adjusted myself so that I was facing Haldir and his arms came around me to take the reins.  “You elves aren’t the only ones with fancy moves.” I said smirking at him.  He looked at me perplexed as I perked my brow at him and did a flip move that I learned from Cain.
I picked up my legs and I soon flipped over both Haldir and Anárion.  When I had leapt, I was first curled into a ball but when I felt my legs coming towards the sky, I straightened myself out until I finally landed on my feet before some orcs that stood before me.  Using Aeglos and my own strength, I took each of them down.  Slicing off their limbs or twisting their necks with my bare hands.
I turned briefly to Haldir and gave him a firm nod and he gave me a nod back.  He urged Anárion onward and I soon saw them both disappear into the battle.  My admiration soon turned to hatred as I growled lowly and blocked an orc that had raised its mace at me and I used Aeglos’ staff to block it.  I kicked the orc’s stomach to send him flying towards one of the buildings as three more tried to come at me.
Both Cain’s teachings and Thena’s powers were making my blood boil and adrenaline pumping.  I crossed blades with two orcs while another one tried to come at me from the side.  I pulled up a Celestial shield to block his attack then used that shield to disarm him allowing me to kick him and see his body skip like a rock on water.
I pushed back the two orcs I had crossed blades with and easily relieved them of their heads before I raced further into the city.  Any orc that I came into contact with, received the full wrath of the Celestial of death and I gathered up as many men who still had a fighting chance to come aid with the town square of the city.
I leapt up along the old buildings and took down the orcs that were using the towers as high ground for their archers.  I slammed one orc down onto the roof while I punched another orc right in the throat disabling him before I stuck Aeglos’ blade right through his skull.
But all too soon I heard them.  Their piercing screams that felt like nails slowly scrapping across the floor.  From the dark clouds I saw them riding on fellbeasts.  The Nazgul had come.
I watched in horror as their fellbeasts swooped down like a dark shadow and began scooping up any Gondorian man they could find.  I also could hear the men calling for a retreat and saw them all starting to ride back to Minas Tirith.  My heart broke as I knew it to be true.
Osgiliath was lost.
Swallowing my fear, I took to the skies using Ikaris’ gemstone and flew off towards one of the nine who had about four guards in the claws of his fellbeast.   As the demonic creature released them to fall to their deaths, I intervened and caught each of the men and carefully set them down.
“Make for Minas Tirith! GO!!” the men nodded and quickly took off running.  I soon heard the screech and roar of both a Nazgul and a fellbeast heading towards me.  I flew out of the way but both chased after me.
“Give up and surrender yourself Celestial of Death!” the Nazgul spoke to me.
“Over my dead body.” The fellbeast soon shot its neck forward and tried to capture me in its horrid jaws but I fired a couple of star bolts at it to deter it away from me.  It let out a cry of pain as I took off flying away from it.  Suddenly out of nowhere a second Nazgul came at me and nearly had me in his grasp but with some quick reflexes I was able to avoid his fell grip.
The two Nazgul soon took chase after me.  So long as they targeted me and not the men, I can give them some time to reach the city.  Oh I hope Haldir made good on his promise and is fleeing with the men now that the Raiths are here.
“Alright you guys, think your fellbeasts can beat the speed of the Starlights?” I then took off flying high above the clouds and the Nazgul continued to resume chase.
Their fellbeasts surrounded me and tried with both jaw and claws to catch me, but I was too fast for them.  I fired more star bolts at them as well as their riders and I saw as they curled themselves inward at the power of my Starlight brother Ikaris.
Suddenly out of nowhere, the third Nazgul, and this one I did know by name.  The second deadliest of the nine to ever be named, Khamûl The Easterling.  His fellbeast roared in my face and I was suddenly struck with fear as these creatures (much like their masters) had a fell air about them that made anyone feel utter fear and despair.  Khamûl then grabbed hold of my throat and I struggled in his grip as he hissed at me.
“They will all die. And you shall watch them.” The two Nazgul dove back down to attack the retreating Gondorian armies and Haldir while Khamûl still had me in his grasp.  He pulled me up to him and my vision soon became hazy as I felt the affects of the Black breath come onto me.
I tried to resist and use my own powers to overpower the dark aura of the Black breath but Khamûl was not to be trifled with.  Next to Angmar himself, he is the second most deadliest of the Nine.  Both in life and in death he was a foul, foul man.  However, unlike if I had been the Celestial I was back then I would’ve easily given in.
It took everything I had to muster the Starlight’s Blaze within me.  Those men, Haldir, the people of Gondor.  My body slowly flickered until my eyes glowed pure starlight and I said to him.
“You will not hurt any of these men! Khamûl the Damned!!!” I then felt a burst of light burst out of me and I heard Khamûl let out an agonizing scream as both he and his fellbeast recoiled from my Starlight blaze and took off flying.
As quick as the attack came, it was snuffed out and the affects of the Black breath had fully taken over me and I felt myself falling from the skies and my vision went dark.
*3rd Person POV*
While the men and Haldir made their retreat from Osgiliath and rode to Minas Tirith with all their might, they thought that thanks to the Lady Celestial they would be home free with no orcs or Nazgul chasing them.  But their hope was soon snatched away as two of the Nazgul came swooping down and attacked them.  Grabbing either men alone or men plus their horses before allowing them to fall from a great height to their deaths.
Haldir kept watch on the skies not seeing Hela in sight, his heart pounded fearing the worst when he noticed up ahead Gandalf and Pippin riding on Shadowfax charging head on to aid them.  Suddenly from the clouds burst a powerful bright light and it aimed for the backs of the Nazgul.  Haldir had seen that kind of light before and he knew exactly who it was that was making it.  It was also at that moment, Haldir saw Gandalf used his own staff to aid the bright light that had shone down from the dark clouds.
With no way of flying back to Osgiliath, the Nazgul fled towards the mountains as Gandalf soon joined the men in leading them back to the city.  But Haldir still caught no sight of Hela from the clouds, that was until he had seen her falling and unable to stop herself.
“HYAH!!” Haldir urged Anárion with great haste, Boromir’s steed ran with what almost felt like the speed of Makkari.  But even with all his speed, Hela seemed to be getting closer and closer to the ground with no chance of slowing down.  Something had to be wrong, Haldir could feel it in his gut.  “HELA WAKE UP!!” he cried but that still didn’t seem to rouse her awake.
Finally Hela landed with a loud BOOM.  And Haldir was just barely a few short feet from reaching her.  Anárion reared and neighed fearfully at not only the sound but seeing that Hela had not moved ever since her fall.  Haldir quickly got off his saddle and raced towards Hela.
“Hela! Hela!” Haldir knelt down beside her and pressed his head over her heart and could hear it beating.  He breathed a sigh of relief but it was gone for a moment when he could see no physical injury but her face had looked even paler than it normally was.
Very carefully, he picked her up in his arms and placed her on top of the saddle before mounting just behind her.  He allowed Hela to lean against his chest and he urged Anárion onward back towards the city.
Back in the city, Gandalf and the soldiers of Gondor and the Ithilien Rangers immediately began to pile the city gates after just barely escaping with their lives after a long night’s battle.
“Mithrandir!” Gandalf turned around and saw Faramir riding his horse towards them. “They broke through our defenses. They’ve taken the bridge and the west bank. Battalions of Orcs are crossing the river.”
“It is as the Lord Denethor predicted. Long has he foreseen this doom.” Spoke one of the soldiers as he unmounted his horse.
“Foreseen and done nothing!” snapped Gandalf.  When Gandalf had urged Shadowfax to fully turn around, Faramir caught sight of Pippin riding in front of his mentor and friend and was taken back at the sight of yet another halfling in his sight.  “Faramir?”
Pippin taking notice of Faramir’s intense gaze upon him, slightly turned his head away almost trying to make himself invisible when Gandalf realized why Faramir was looking at him the way he was.
“This is not the first halfling to have crossed your path.” Faramir shook his head and replied with a verbal no.  At that statement, Pippin’s eyes grew wide as he stared up at Faramir and asked him.
“You’ve seen Frodo and Sam?” Faramir nodded.
“Where? When?” asked Gandalf urgently.
“In Ithilien. Not two days ago.” Pippin looked up at Gandalf in pure joy while Gandalf’s heart raced in relief.  Oh such a blessed news to know that the two hobbits were still alive and had not been gone from this city in barely three days.  But Gandalf’s relief was hindered as Faramir told him, “Gandalf, they’re taking the road to the Morgul Vale.”
“And then the pass of Cirith Ungol.” Gandalf finished, his eyes widened in fear.  Faramir nodded again.
“What does that mean? What’s wrong?” asked Pippin.  But Gandalf didn’t hear the young hobbit’s question as he urgently demanded to Faramir.
“Faramir, tell me everything. Tell me all you know.” But before Faramir could say a word, another voice broke through the crowd.
“Help! Help! Mithrandir help! It’s Hela!” the three of them turned and soon riding up was Haldir with Hela.  The three of them turned to Haldir and their eyes widened in shock (mostly Pippin’s and Gandalf’s).  “She has yet to awaken. And she fell straight down to the earth like a fallen star. Physically I cannot see any injuries but I’m still worried.” Haldir explained.
“Set her down.” Gandalf told Haldir.  Haldir got off of Anárion and carefully took Hela into his arms and set her down on the floor.  Gandalf and Pippin got off of Shadowfax and Pippin quickly went up to Hela and touched her face.
“She feels cold. Gandalf what’s happened to her?”
“The Nazgul.” Faramir answered.  Pippin looked up at him. “I’ve seen this happen many times since they’ve arrived to haunt this very city. Some have claimed that this is a technique they use to petrify their victims.”
“Yes. It is a technique known as the Black breath.”
“Is she going to die?” asked Pippin fearfully.  Haldir turned to the halfling offended he’d even suggest such a thing.
“To some they have.” Answered Faramir.
“But to Hela it surely won’t. But she has taken a great amount to render her unconscious.” Gandalf gently pushed Pippin aside and pressed his hand to Hela’s forehead and began to softly chant a healing spell to awaken her.
As the men began to take notice of a woman wearing Gondorian armor on the ground, they started to crowd but Faramir ordered them to give her some air and let Gandalf do his job.  Suddenly Hela let out a gasp as her chest began heaving.
“Steady Hela, steady my dear girl.”
*My POV*
One moment I was in nothing but complete darkness and the next I suddenly felt myself shooting upwards awake and I tried to fight whoever was in front of me but when I caught sight of both Gandalf and Haldir, and Gandalf’s voice slowly becoming clearer from my fuzzy hearing.
“Hela, steady my dear girl.”
“Gandalf?”
“Yes, I’m here. And you’re lucky to be here too. If you weren’t who you are and had had that much Black breath affected you, you’d be beyond any help.” I then turned to Haldir and was relieved to see him alive and in one peace.  I embraced him to which I felt him tense up slightly but he instantly wrapped his arms around me.
“I was so worried they’d—”
“You and Mithrandir saved all of us. How are you though? You were the one who fell from the sky at great speed and fell straight into the earth.”
“Did I? I—don’t recall that.” Haldir looked at me to see if I was jesting but one look in my eye and he knew I wasn’t.  Truly I don’t remember anything after I had unleashed the Starlight’s blaze on Khamûl.  Suddenly I felt another body collide into mine and I looked down to see that it was Pippin.
“Oh Pip.” I said lovingly as I embraced him.
“You were as cold as death, no pun intended with you being the—but I had feared you were…..”
“Shhhh. It’s alright Pip. I’ll be okay. Takes more than some Nazgul to break me.”
“As I live and breathe, Gandalf spoke the truth.” Pippin and I looked up and at first I thought I was seeing double.  The man before almost resembled Boromir to a T but he was younger, had a slight lighter shade of hair color and wore the uniform of the Ithilien Rangers.  He looked at me in pure awe.
“Hela, this is Faramir. He said he had seen Frodo and Sam.” My heart leaped in rejoice as I stood up with Haldir’s help and asked him.
“You have? Where? When?”
“As I told Gandalf and your halfling friend just moments ago. Not two days ago in Ithilien. But they have taken the road to the Morgul Vale.”
“What?!” I asked fearfully.  “But that leads to—”
“Cirith Ungol. Yes. Faramir was about to tell us everything he knew before your ranger friend came to us with you unconscious.” Gandalf told me.  Knowing to keep Haldir’s true identity a secret I turned back to Faramir and asked him.
“Yes. Please tell us all you know of what happened when you came across our friends.” Faramir nodded then ordered any and all guards to take the wounded to be healed not in the House of Healing, but in the secondary medical Halls.  I found it strange Faramir would not have his men go to the main healing house but that would have to be a question for another time.
Faramir soon guided us away back towards the royal stables to put Shadowfax, Anárion and Faramir’s horse away.  All the while, Faramir explained to us everything that had happened when he came across Frodo and Sam.  To me, it comes as no surprise that Gollum finally tracked down his ‘precious’ and by taking them to Cirith Ungol, I knew he was leading them there just to reclaim his precious back.
For a creature has made that her nest for centuries and only one time did I encounter her and that was when Druig, Makkari and I first went into Mordor when we were younglings.  I’ll never forget the first time we saw her, we barely escaped with our lives and Druig still had the scar of her bite to this day on his chest.  All to save me.
As our horses were now untacked and could now rest in the comfort of the stable, a messenger soon came forth and he said.
“Lord Faramir, your father requests to see you and the Lady Celestial right away.”
“Tell my father we will be there shortly.” Faramir told the messenger.
“He’s insisting now. Especially you my lady Celestial.” Oh no, this could only mean one thing.
“Tell him we’re on our way. But tell him that he may unleash his wrath upon me first before he even speaks a word to his son.”
“Hela,” Pippin started.
“Pip, you keep practicing your initiation. I’ll even have Gandalf or Rahl quiz you.” I looked down at him, giving him a firm look to not say another word on the manner.  “Come Faramir, let us see what your father wishes to speak to us about.” As I took a step, I felt myself suddenly grow faint as I suddenly staggered forward like a newborn foul but both Haldir and Faramir caught my arms.
“Perhaps I should accompany you Hela.” Haldir tried to offer but I told him.
“Lord Denethor has required only our presence. I dare not allow you to be taken under his wrath and scrutiny. Please return to our room Rahl and take some rest.” I looked at him with soft pleading eyes and as stubborn as this elf is, he abide my request.
“As you wish.” I mouthed a thank you to him as Faramir took off and helped guide me to the throne room.
“You sure you do not wish to seek a healer my lady? The Black breath of the Nazgul is no wound to tread lightly.”
“I appreciate your concern young lord. Unlike most of your men who have in some cases been petrified to death, the Black breath has never gone that far with me. I may have some fainting spells now and then and quite possible some nightmares at night but that is all the damage they can do to me with their accursed breath.”
“If you are sure, but if you do need any assistance, I will do what I can to help aid you.” I gave him a loving thank you as he continued to guide me to the throne room.
When I felt like I was able to walk on my own, Faramir reluctantly allowed me to take a few steps until he could see for himself that I was now fine.  And it was at that moment we had arrived at the doors of the throne room.  We entered inside and I held Faramir back so that I could go first.
He looked at me with the same reluctance but I assured him with a firm nod as I held my head up high and slowly walked towards Denethor who glared down at me from his throne with Perses and Deimos at his side.
As I stopped before his throne, I put my hands behind my back and stood at attention while Denethor stood up from his throne, a menacing look in his eye.  He came down from the throne, stood face to face with me before winding his hand back and gave me a hard backhand across the face.  His ring giving me a small cut as my breathing harshened and I soon turned back to him.
“Ever you have wanted to prove your worth more to the World of Men. Celestials prancing about thinking they were superior to us. Claiming to teach us, when all you do is look down upon us like we’re scum. Like we can’t fight our own battles! Treating us no better than children. Or an undisciplined pet.”
“I did what I judged to be right Denethor.”
“What you judged to be right!?” he sneered lowly.
“The Celestial has ruined the plans I had given the men at Osgiliath. Now because of her, the city is lost!” Deimos proclaimed.
“Those men all through the night were greatly outnumbered and outmatched. There was no victory to which there would be any survivors had I not intervened.” I said trying to keep my cool.  “Denethor, your men were lead into a massacre. How is there victory in a fight such as that?”
“Osgiliath was our only line of defense, now it is lost because of you.” Denethor hissed in my face, his hot breath dancing across my skin as he shook with rage.  He turned to go back to his throne as Deimos said.
“If I may have permission my lord, I could teach this Celestial what happens when a soldier goes out of line.” I saw the gleam of a silver blade shine at his hip as his red eyes grew crazed as he stared down at me with a lustful desire for blood.
“Deimos. Out of the two of you the Lady Hela could easily take you down with just the flick of her wrist.” Perses spoke up.  Deimos growled as he turned his attention to Perses.
“And what of you old man? I seem to recall you screaming for mercy as I had you weaponless.”
“What must be taken to order is a punishment that fits the crime. Exile would do no good nor would death even stop the Celestial of Death. Imprisonment is useless for there’s no cell strong enough to keep her.” Perses said.
“Perhaps there is a punishment best fitted for someone of your—stature.” Denethor said with a malicious grin.  “Perses, take her to the East wing and have her fitted for her new duties.” Perses bowed his head then he came down before me and gestured for me to follow him.
Of course Denethor would put me in this position believing it would humiliate me.  Having served as councilor to the King of Gondor, then fought alongside the armies as one of the tower guards, eventually moving up the ranks as Captain.  Some had even called me the Guardian of the White city, but now at Denethor’s command, I have been sentenced to the ranks of scullery maid.
Now wearing mere peasant rags and given a bucket and rag just to clean the very floors of this entire palace.  I dipped my rag into the bucket of water and then proceeded to scrub the floors as hard as I could in order to give it that ‘mirror-like quality’ as per Lord Denethor’s orders.
I wiped the sweat from my brow having already been at this for hours and I let out a deep, heavy sigh.
“This is my thanks to the city?” I scoffed shaking my head.  “To now be no better than a servant and for what? Saving the lives of his own soldiers.”
“It was well noble of you my lady.” I looked up to see Faramir standing at the end of the hall before coming over to me.  “We would have lost double the amount of men had you not come to aid us.” I dropped my rag and wiped my hands against the apron of my raggedy gown and went to curtsy to him.  “Please, none of that my lady Celestial.” I stood naturally as he stood just a few inches from me. “My apologies on his behalf. If it were up to me, you’d be rewarded for your valiant deed, not submitted to such a degree of hard labor.”
“Well your father’s not the first Man to try and degrade me for being a female warrior. And he won’t be the last I’m afraid.”
“I hope as payment, you should at least deserve this back.” He soon handed me my Gondorian armor that I was forced to surrender before being given these rags.  I smiled and took it from his arms and said as I stroked the White tree engraved on the chest plate.
“Truthfully I would’ve thought your father would’ve had this either destroyed or thrown out. I was surprised to see it in such a display and in good condition too.”
“That’s because a young man of the city took great honor in caring for it. A very foolish one. Who wasted many hours slaying dragons instead of attending to his studies.”
“You did that?” I said astounded.
“Yes. When Gandalf told me the stories of the Celestial of Death serving and protecting our city, I knew such an armor had to be taken great care of till she returned.” He then bowed his head to me in respect.
“And I thank you Faramir. If only you had been there when I first made this armor. Most of the men couldn’t believe their eyes, said they’d roll in their graves at the day a woman would be Captain of the Tower guard. And boy did they.” The two of us softly laughed before he told me.
“People doubted me too. Boromir was always the soldier.” His tone grew solemn as he continued, “They were so alike he and my father. Proud, stubborn even, but strong.” I set my armor down to the floor and placed my hand to his shoulder.  The two of us stared into each other’s eyes and I told him.
“Both you and your brother share the same fighting spirit. But I also see in your eyes strength of a different kind. And I know your brother saw it. He spoke so highly of you during our time together.” Faramir’s eyes held a sense of sorrow for the loss of his big brother.
“How did it truly happen?” he asked me.  “I had heard one side from your other hobbit friends that passed through here. Was it truly because of the Ring he died?”
“The Ring tempted your brother and took him yes, but it was not because of the Ring he died. He kept his honor as Captain of the Guard, a true noble warrior and Man of Gondor by aiding me, Pippin and another hobbit friend of ours from an army of Uruk-hai. Saving my life from an Uruk’s blade with two arrows already in his body. It wasn’t until the third arrow that he was unable to fight anymore. Your brother died a hero’s death.” I watched as Faramir swallowed hardly as he took in the true story of his brother’s death.
“Now I know at least he did not die with darkness in his heart. And that he died the way he would’ve wanted to go. Fighting to his last breath.” I smiled solemnly at him and gave him a soft nod before embracing him.
Almost immediately Faramir embraced me back and I could feel the wetness from his tears as they slowly slid down and landed onto my shirt.  Neither of us spoke a word until I knew his moment of grieving had passed.
After it passed, he offered me a spot to witness Pippin being sworn in as the new guard of the Citadel.  I looked down at the floor and said to him.
“I think your father would greatly see my head on a platter if I were to disobey his orders.”
“You were charged to follow the orders of the Steward and his sons, were you not? By order of Perses.” The way he spoke his name held some sort of venom to it.  So not even Faramir trusts him.
“Aye, that was his command.”
“Then as the youngest son of the current Steward, I order you to stand at my side and watch your friend be sworn in. I have a feeling he’ll need you there for him.” Since it was to be announced that Pippin was going to be sworn in at this very hour, Pippin had been sitting in a shroud of anxiety and insecurity.  He had begged me to write down the oath for him because he had already forgotten what he was supposed to say (of course I obeyed his wish).
“I take it you have met him.”
“Yes. A noble heart your friend has. Even said the same thing you had told me about my strength, as well as my father hoping to see that one day.” I could already see it in his eyes.  Heck even Boromir has told me during our time at Rivendell of how much his father verbally discriminated Faramir for his own victories in favor of his (Boromir’s) own.
Truthfully I hope Pippin’s right.  In my experience with Denethor, they weren’t always in positive light for he held a deep-rooted jealousy and hatred for both Aragorn and myself respectfully during our time here.
“First let me return this armor to my room as well as check on my friend who helped me to aid you.” He nodded and picked my armor back up before handing it to me and I walked off back towards my room where Haldir was mending the wound on his arm.  “You got hurt?” I said racing over to him as I dropped my armor.  He took my hands into his as he assured me.
“Thankfully it was just a graze unlike the wound I had received at Helm’s Deep.” Haldir looked me up and down and he said with venom in his tone. “He didn’t.”
“Afraid so. Been demoted all the way down to scullery maid. Thankfully Faramir is allowing me to see Pippin be sworn in. After all I am to serve not only the Steward but his sons as well, as per Perses’ orders.”
“A loop-hole. Does Denethor know of that slipped detail?”
“One way to find out. You sure you’ll be okay up here on your own for a while?”
“I’ve had my fixture of battle and air for the day. Go and support your friend.” I nodded.
“I’ll be back as soon as I can, I promise.”
“I know you will, don’t fret over me.”
“Old habits.” I softly smiled at him and he gave me an encouraging nod to go on my way.  I shut the door and sighed deeply before racing off towards the throne room to meet with Faramir so that we could enter together.
“If my father should question why you left your post, I’ll take the blame.”
“No Faramir, I cannot let—”
“I won’t allow you to be scorned by my father anymore throughout your time here Lady Hela.”
“You are willing to take the rod for me even though we barely know each other?” he nodded.  “And there is no chance I am going to convince you otherwise, is there?”
“If you wish to debate we can, but I get the feeling you’d rather be there for your friend rather than trade words with the Captain of the guard.” He’s clever I’ll give him that.  Druig was the same way when it came trying to out-best any one of us in a debate, especially with Ikaris (boy he loved to toy with him a lot. Same with Hermes).
“You’re very kind Faramir.”
“Only doing what is right my lady.”
“Promise to call me Hela and no longer add any formalities and I’ll willingly keep my mouth shut around your father.” He softly chuckled before we both entered the throne room together side by side.
There we saw Pippin standing just a few feet away from the foot of the Steward’s black throne, some additional court members scattered throughout the room, Perses (as always) at Denethor’s side.
“I thought I had sent you away to have the corridor floors cleaned?” Denethor snapped at me.
“My Lord I ordered her to be my personal handmaid for the time being. As is command, she is to also obey my orders as well.” Denethor sneered then Perses spoke out.
“Yes, so it was as command. But the young woman must refrain from speaking until the initiation has been complete.” I bowed my head in acceptance to Perses (even though I loathed to do it) then he turned his attention back down to Pippin.  “Peregrin Took, son of Paladin Took. You stand before the council and the Lordship of Gondor to pledge your loyalty to this city. Please recite the oath of the tower guard.”
Pippin knelt down with his left knee forward and he soon recited the oath that I had taught him.
“Here do I swear fealty and service to Gondor. In peace or war, in living or dying. F….from…..” C’mon Pip, you know this.  I could hear him faintly muttering the oath under his breath as he continued, “from this hour henceforth until my Lord release me—or death take me.”
“And I shall not forget it.” Denethor said.  He stood up from his throne and stood before Pippin as he held out his ringed finger for Pippin to kiss as he continued, “nor fail to reward that which is given.” Internally I scoffed at Denethor’s demeanor towards Pippin.  I saw as Pippin finally sealed his fate by kissing Denethor’s ring before the Steward cupped his chin to force him to look up at him as he continued, “Fealty with love, valor with honor. Disloyalty with vengeance.”
Denethor walked over towards a large table where various foods had been spread out and I saw his eyes come towards Faramir and I as he said the ‘disloyalty with vengeance’ phrase.  Pippin rose up and turned towards me and I gave him a soft but proud nod.  Denethor snapped his fingers and like a dog I was forced to come over to him.
“Prepare for me the best arrangement of food.”
“Yes my lord.” I spoke lowly as I began reaching out for various food items for him to consume, he then spoke to his son.
“I do not think we should lightly abandon the outer defenses, defenses that your brother long held intact.”
“What would you have me do?” asked Faramir and immediately his father responded.
“I will not yield the river in Pelennor unfought. Osgiliath must be retaken.” Is he crazy? Those men were lucky to get out of there alive just barely this morning and now he’s going to send them back there?!
“My lord Osgiliath is overrun.” Faramir tried to reason with his father but it fell on deaf ears.
“Much must be risked in war.” Why is it when he said that, it sounded like Deimos was talking to him now?  “Is there a captain here who still has the courage to do his lord’s will?” yes me! If you want Osgiliath back, send me! No need to waste anymore lives that had already been lost to you.
Then after a long period of silence, Faramir would say something that would break my heart for the rest of my days.
“You wish now that our places had been exchanged. That I had died and Boromir had lived.” As Denethor picked up a chalice of wine he spoke in a dazed whisper but it held so much truth behind it.
“Yes. I wish that.” My heart broke for Faramir.  All he ever wanted was his father’s approval and love and now to be told this just before you send him off on a suicide mission?! I turned to Faramir and could already see the tears forming in his eyes but he kept a strong face as he said to his Lord.
“Since you were robbed of Boromir…I will do what I can in his stead.” He bowed his head to Denethor and proceeded out of the throne room.  Pippin and I watched in shock and heartbreak at Faramir’s decision to die for a father that openly admitted to wish that he were dead and his eldest son were still alive.  “If I should return, think better of me father.” Faramir said brokenly before walking off again, hoping for one last stretch of love from his father.
But all Denethor said was this in a sneer.
“That will depend on the manner of your return.” Once Faramir was gone, I slammed his tray down, scattering the food and even denting the table itself.
“HE IS YOUR SON!!” I shouted.  “Your only living son no less! How can you treat him this way!?”
“Faramir knows his worth to this city and his family’s name.”
“So you will send him and those men to die for your honor! Have them all die in your name whilst you sit on your arse and engorge yourself in food and wine!”
“They will die doing what’s right for Gondor.” Denethor rose up from his seat as he and I stood almost chest to chest staring each other down.
“Boromir would be ashamed to be your son if he heard what you have told his little brother! He was more of a father than you’ll ever be!”
“And your Celestial kin would be greatly disappointed for you not willing to free them. With all your power and nearly an Age since you became the Last Celestial of Middle Earth. What do you think they would tell you?” I clenched my fists tightly as they shook with rage and I glared at him.
But right now I couldn’t bear to sit behind and watch as Faramir and those brave men throw their lives away.
“Your father and your father’s father roll in their graves. You, Denethor II are an insect amongst men who governed before you.” I knew that would get to him.  His own body shook with rage as I summoned my Celestial armor back over the rags I was forced to wear before retreating to find Faramir but also to contact an old friend for additional help.
*3rd Person POV*
There was silence in the city as the people gathered to watch their soldiers march back to Osgiliath in full Gondorian armor.  But there was no hope in their eyes, nor cheers of praise or good luck, for they all knew that these soldiers would not be coming back alive.
Some began to throw down flowers along the graveled pathway as their horses slowly walked down the city towards the gates.  Some of the soldiers took the flowers from people’s hands as their last gift they would be given.  Suddenly a voice broke through the crowd.
“Faramir! Faramir!” Faramir, who was leading his men up front, turned to see Gandalf walking through the crowd until he came up and walked beside his horse.  “Your father’s will has turned to madness! Do not throw away your life so rashly.”
“Where does my allegiance lie if not here? This is the city of the Men of Númenor. I will gladly give my life to defend her beauty, her memory, her wisdom.” As Faramir spoke, Gandalf could already tell that Faramir had lost all hope in ever obtaining what he longed for most.
The love and approval of his father.  And without it, there was just no sense in trying anymore.  So he’ll do the one thing he can do, die trying.
“Your father loves you, Faramir.” Gandalf assured him as Faramir rode on.  “He will remember it before the end.” Suddenly riding pass through the crowds riding on Boromir’s horse was Hela, with her cloak on and the hood covering her head.  She rode forward and came before Faramir to stop him in his tracks.  Faramir’s horse nickered alarmed but stopped which caused the army to stop.
“Hela, this is not your fight. By order of the Steward’s son, I ask you to step aside.”
“You think you could really order me around, little brother?” she removed the hood to reveal her eyes glowing of pure white light.  Faramir’s soulless eyes began to sparkle with a brief sense of light.
“Boromir.”  Hela’s voice then spoke with both her voice as well as Boromir’s mixed together.
“Hela told me what father has said to you. Please little brother, I know we have been through much together in our lives and you have followed me everywhere but I ask you to cease now. Do not follow me into death.”
“If not me then who will?” asked Faramir brokenly.  “Your reclaim over Osgiliath has fallen because of me. To not fight for your honor would shame me.”
“Forget your honor then!” Boromir’s voice rose.  “I made my choice when I had fallen down my path. You—you have always been smarter than my little brother. For once in your life do not be stupid as I have been!”
“I am sorry brother. But I must do what I can do defend this city.” Faramir then guided his horse around Hela and Boromir’s horse and the men did as their commander did as they finally came to the gates.
“Faramir.” Boromir whimpered as Hela’s eyes returned to normal and she quickly rode back to the palace, her face buried into Boromir’s horse’s mane.
Once the armies of Gondor were out of the city, they formed two long lines and rode onward to the fallen city they had barely escaped from earlier that same day.  The banners of the white tree waving proudly in the breeze as they rode onward.
Soon the orcs began to emerge from the ruins of the city to see what their next move was.  Even they knew that these men were riding towards their deaths.
Back inside the throne room, Denethor was eating his meal with Pippin at his side, there was no one else but the two of them and they stood there in silence until Denethor asked Pippin.
“Can you sing master hobbit?” Pippin turned to the Steward and said.
“Well….yes. At least, well enough for my own people. But we have no songs for great halls and—evil times.”
“And why should your songs be unfit for my halls?” Denethor said.  His chin stained with juices from the grapes he had just eaten.  “Come sing me a song.” He then demanded as he kept eating his feast.  Pippin slowly turned his gaze away from the selfish, gluttonous Steward and sung a song that was held in his heart.
Whilst out there on the fields of Pelennor, Faramir lead his army in full charge knowing full well that none of them, not even him would make it out alive.  The orcs of Osgiliath all gathered around the edge of the city and their archers readied their arrows to fire at the oncoming Calvary.
*Pippin*
Home is behind the world ahead
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadow to the edge of night
Until the stars are all alight.
Mist and shadow
Cloud and shade
All shall fade
All shall….
Fade
Arrows whistled and the sound of the thunderous hooves were quickly silenced from the fields.
As Pippin finished his song, he turned to Denethor to see if there was even a hint of any remorse or grief at knowing what he had done.  But Denethor kept that blank stare as he kept stuffing his face with food.  Pippin lowered his head in anguish as he had never felt this level of heart break in his life.
Meanwhile, up in Hela and Haldir’s room; the two were both on the floor up against the bed as Hela wept into Haldir’s lap.  Tears streamed down her face as she could hear every last one of those soldier’s heartbeats stop and felt their souls leave to the great beyond.  Clenching her heart in pain as she tried to suppress the pain but it was all too great for her.
Haldir, could only hold his Celestial in his arms.  Hoping that just being there for her would ease her pain, but he knew deep down there wasn’t anything else he could do for her.  This was a burden that she had to deal with thousands of times, and thousands of times she’ll have to bear it then.
Suddenly she stood up and like a risen corpse, she soullessly walked out of the room to head for the tombs of the Kinds and Stewards of Gondor to seek peace and council with the dead.
*Haldir’s POV*
No matter how hard she tries, no matter how strong she becomes, there will always come pain whenever a soul passes away from Middle Earth, for Hela will always feel it.  And for a ‘Lord of the city’ to send those soldiers to be massacred and not care what happens to them? This is what confuses me about mortal Men.
Why must their pride and stubbornness govern their correct judgement in battle and war? Now all those lives, including his only remaining son are now dead. Who now will defend this city if not Hela? Mithrandir? Or even Denethor himself?
I retook Hela’s cloak and put it back around me and headed out.  I will allow Hela to have some alone time, right now there was a cause of action that needed to be taken.  What Hela and I did when we first came here, find out just who the three council members of Denethor are.
As I walked back towards the underground library, I passed by a room where Perses’ voice spoke up.
“So how many does this make now Nergal?” huh? I quickly raced back and pressed my back against the wall right where the door was cracked open.
“This makes 998 souls in total.” Answered Nergal.
“Grah! Why are we wasting our time with this? We should make our move now!” I heard an unfamiliar voice speak.  Could this be the third one that neither Hela nor I have come across yet?
“What you severely lack is patience Deimos. If we leave in a hurry, Hela and the wizard will think that we’re up to no good.” Answered Perses.
“We have been wasting over 40 years here! If we are to attack, the time is now before the riders of Rohan come!” The voice, Deimos replied harshly.
“The bond between Gondor and Rohan is severely damaged. Thanks to us, Gondor was unable to aid Rohan in their time of need at Helm’s Deep. Theoden wouldn’t dare answer the call to a kingdom who didn’t come to help him.” I heard Nergal say.  “One thing I know is the poison that severs old alliances, mortal pride. And Denethor clearly showed that the loss of his son was greater than that of Rohan’s safety, much less his own city’s.”
Mortal pride? The way Nergal spoke about mortality sounded similar to the way my kin spoke of the world of Men.  Their mortality, their pride, stubbornness, their brief lives.
“Plus we must continue to be cautious. Hela has been poking around trying to figure out just who we are. After all she has been Gondor’s aiding Celestial since the days of Elendil.”
“With the massacre I convinced Denethor to agree on, she’ll be out of commission for a while.” I heard what almost sounded like a lustful moan from behind the door from Deimos “I can still taste the blood in the air.” Deimos said.
“Enough of your demonic pleasures Deimos. We must proceed on with phase 2 of our plan whilst the orcs move into the city. And this time, the Lady Hela will play a big part in our plan.” Perses told him.
“And just how will you convince her? As we have already said, she’s suspicious of us and will not come willingly.” Nergal said.
“Which is why we won’t go for her directly. Deimos, answer this riddle for me; A Mighty warrior goes to war. Unlike those who are of brute strength, this warrior is cunning. He makes more armies surrender than any other soldier before him. How does he do it?” I thought of the riddle in my head but never before have I heard this one.
“The heart. He goes for their heart.” Oh no! Mithrandir and the halfling! I must warn them.  I raced out of the corridor and searched for them throughout the palace but I couldn’t find either of them anywhere! As I came around another corridor I noticed two guards up ahead and saw as they turned to me.
I moved Hela’s hood to cover more of my face and slowly turned back but saw three more guards coming towards me blocking my way out.  With no other choice, I walked a ways out and told the guards in front of me.
“Is there a problem gentlemen?”
“You are the Ranger that accompanied the Lady Celestial to Gondor, are you not?” one of the guards in front of me said.
“If I am? There’s no law against Rangers from entering the city is there?”
“There is if he doesn’t show his face. A man who hides under his cloak like a shadow is a coward, if not an enemy spy.” One of the bigger guards that stood behind me said.
“I assure you I am no spy to the enemy. If anything the spies you seek are within your own council.” I told them.  I evaluated just how many of them surrounded me, their weapons on hand, as well as how they would try to overwhelm me by trying to come at me all at once (as per the usual move men usually do when facing an enemy).
“You’re coming with us, outsider.” Said the tallest guard out of all of them.
“And if I refuse?” I questioned as I slowly reached for my dagger.
“Then we take you by force.” He replied as they all surrounded me from every side, closing any chance of a quick escape.  I eyed all five of them before they all came at me.
I swiftly took out my dagger and ducked as I sliced at one of their legs, right behind their calves where there was no protection before coming back up and managed to block another guard’s dagger with mine.  Our blades crossed before I threw him back and that’s when I felt a rope come around my neck pulling me back against an armored chest.
I struggled and tried to free myself but my vision was quickly going black.  In one final attempt, I headbutted the guard who had me by the throat which caused him to drop the rope and release me.  Quickly taking a deep gasp of air I grabbed my dagger and tried to throw it at the man who had nearly choked me to death, but something felt off.
My arm was frozen in place.  Suddenly my hand twisted oddly and I was forced to drop my dagger.  As I gripped onto my wrist trying to stop it from bending back any further, my arm suddenly shot to the left then to the right before I felt myself crumbling down towards the ground.
This sensation was unlike anything I’ve ever felt.  It was like my own body was beyond my control.
‘You really thought we’d go for the wizard or the Halfling?’ a voice said in my head.
“Deimos.” I whispered painfully.
‘There’s no one closer to Hela than you, Haldir of Lórien.’ How did he know my true name? I soon felt my hands being forced to grab Hela’s hood and no matter how hard I tried to fight, his will was stronger than mine as I revealed my true identity to the guards.
“Bind him!” Deimos’s voice soon echoed through the room and the guards soon came at me with ropes and shackles.  “Wait!” the guards soon stopped.  “Gag him as well.” Deimos spoke in amusement.  Soon my mouth was forced open by their grubby hands as a rag was forced around my mouth and I was dragged out of the palace like a dog. ‘Now what say we take a little rest for a while?’
Suddenly my senses were hazy as my will to fight, or even move vanished and I felt myself go limp against the guards.
*3rd Person POV*
What was unaware to anyone, including Deimos, was that a small creature had witnessed the whole thing from just behind one of the columns.  That small creature was none other than Pippin.
“Oh no, Mr. Haldir. I’ve got to find Hela!” he quickly ran off to find Hela and tell her what had happened to Haldir.
