When I started writing 'lessons in tea making', I set out to make it a longfic that following ATLA Book 2 and 3 in its entirety but now its been almost 5 years and I'm realising that I'm probably never going to get around to finishing this monster of a wip
HOWEVER, I do have around 15k of chapter 2 collecting dust in my google drive so.... what's everyone's opinion on authors uploading (signposted) unfinished chapters....

Respectfully, what happened to the Bridgerton fandom today? Everybody is angry about something…as if we didn’t already know Debling was going to stir up drama…
I get the fears about Colin, I really do. But the show is literally called Bridgerton. He will have an arc. He will be characterized.

Top 50 OTPs of All Time ☆ #47. Finn Hudson & Rachel Berry
“You’re like a beacon of light guiding me through the darkness. You’re like this big gold star and for some bizarre reason, you chose to let me love you. And I feel like if I can just convince you to let me keep doing that, I’m gonna be okay. Everything is gonna be okay.”

Guys the original script for ATWOW is not canon. I repeat it is not canon. The edits and revisions made for the theatrical release happened for a reason. Everything excluded in the final version is because the original script was the original version. Think of it like a rough draft. 🤗

I like Shadowheart but I legitimately do not know where the narrative emerges from that Lae'zel is the aggressor because in every single playthrough I've done Shadowheart talks about her like three times more and usually unprompted. Lae'zel's RUDE sure but the worst thing she does to Shadowheart is tell us not to save her in the middle of a burning crashing mind flayer ship (while doing nothing to stop us if we decide to do it). Shadowheart comes out the gate suspicious of Lae'zel and is incredibly hostile and mistrustful of her not because of anything she's actually done. Shadowheart has actually done something to Lae'zel's people and she knows it but when confronted about that immediately jumps to "well it was probably stolen plunder anyways 😒😒😒" ITS NOT. ITS CARVED WITH GITH RUNES AND HAS BEEN WITH THEM FOR GENERATIONS. AND ALSO THAT WOULDNT MAKE IT YOURS.
The weirdest the game gets about this is that fight where Lae'zel challenges her to a duel and Shadowheart instead sneaks up on her in the middle of the night and holds a knife to her throat! And then starts!!! lecturing LAE'ZEL about how they need not be enemies and they could instead direct that hostility at others! This is seconds after "If the others ask, I'll say you were turning. Don't expect to be mourned" btw
To be clear this too is yuri but girl you have problems! Conditions even!

Things like prolonged abuse can give people very uneven social and emotional development. They can be very responsible and "mature for your age" in some areas and also very stunted and immature in others.
This can also happen for, say, LGBT people who were closeted during pivotal periods of development too, where dating and discovering themselves happens later and there can be a development gap for a time. And grief around never getting to be a kid when they were a kid can be a thing for people once they try to connect with the things they had to cut off because they weren't safe to feel them. I went through some of that myself, from various sources, so I have a lot of empathy for that and how absurd/frustrating it can be.
(And a lot of hope - it doesn't, as far as I've seen and experienced, take someone very long to "catch up" after a while of fumbling around like an idiot)
Anyway - sometimes I see people reading Carmy's "accidental fuckboi" behavior in terms of how a grown man who's been dating since he was a teen would be thinking/feeling, if he behaved like that. But, for me, I interpret that differently because of the “first” situation and the developmental stuff. IMO, he's basically being a feckless/inexperienced teenager dating for the first time here, because in this area of his life he is still developmentally a dumb feckless teenager (and one who is trying and failing "not to be shitty" without much of a clue what that looks like).
Doesn't make the harm less real, but the intent I think is shaped deeply by the fact that, for the first time in his life, he feels safe enough (because of how much responsibility Sydney and Nat are taking on and that is absolutely not fair to them!!) to try to enjoy things. And he thinks maybe he can even make that work with being responsible somehow, but... utterly clueless about how.
There's the caveat that he didn't go out and choose to start dating at this pivotal moment for the business - dating found him and there's complexities around how much he wanted it to find him right here and now and how much he feels obligated to be what his family/friends/Claire wants him to be. I think he'd have been able to turn down anyone who wasn't as deeply tied to his family as Claire, and I'm not ignoring his agency in the situation, but they chose to bring someone in who he'd find it incredibly difficult to balance pleasing/doing what he's expected to do by while balancing everything else for a reason.
The "executive function" stuff where he's staring at the calls coming in and unable to answer either of them is key for me, in terms of this being someone who just isn't functioning well rn at all and is coming to a real crisis point and trying to ignore that/salve that any way he can think of. Masking really hard and deep in denial and trying to keep a lot of plates spinning without being very intentional about any of it.
It leads to sucky behavior and he's responsible for that--and the other characters can and should hold him responsible for that, but especially for actually addressing the core gravity warping untreated mental illness that's motivating a lot of this frantic rushing around and being a prick-- but I don't personally see much of it as a crime of intent. Intent requires a level of insight and experience that he doesn't have in the area of dating specifically lol
That balance of someone being responsible for their actions but also, for various reasons, in a place that mitigates and shapes what they're able to do--based on the tools they have--is an interesting part of the story that gets touched on again and again through various characters. It's interesting and it can coexist with the people around someone having the right to protect their own peace and boundaries.

Similer to the IDW universe does there exist a wider alien community, not just cybertronians? Like the galactic councel, that group black block con-something,...if yes, what will they think of the humans, since in idw organic spicies feared and hated cybernetic spieces (cough*cybertronians*cough) and cybers (mostly) didn't care for them.
Given how big the universe is, there most definitely is some larger community.
In OUAT, cybertronians would likely be viewed as oversized toddlers by fellow aliens. The mess that no one really wants to deal with. The neighbors and everyone else are just side-eyeing and blaming tanking housing prices on. Just, stay on your side of the fence, please? And try not to blow up the universe while you're at it? The annual potluck is in five solar cycles and Jenny's bringing her wovlerdesh casserole. So good the recipe was used in a peace treaty, and then the food was requested in another planet's trade agreement. If you can't play nice just stay in the yard and let the adults enjoy life's casserole, dang it!
So the galactic policy is "we aren't touching that with a 10-light-year-long pole!"
The policy works pretty well and cybertronains, the obnoxious and arrogant species they are, don't really notice.
I'd imagine the galactic community didn't know about Earth, or maybe they did and were waiting for the best time to approach until we fully reached out to the stars, or until we calmed down on interplanetary warfare, or maybe they were coming until Cybertronians started flocking to the mudball planet and friggen Unicron is part of-?!?!?
So, Earth was basically written off as "do not approach."
I'd imagine the organic side of the galactic community is reasonably freaked out by the cyber formation of a previously organic world, while the cybernetic is discerningly curious. One side could see it as a threat to themselves and their worlds, what would stop that devastating weapon from being turned on them? Would they be enslaved? Reformated? Intergrated against their will? The cybernetic have less to lose, it's not so much an identity issue, as the potential for a new galactic power being born. One created from a race they might see as unnecessarily violent (millennia-long war anyone?) but born from a world seeded by an embodiment of chaos.
Humanity is just frothing at the mouth and clawing at the stars in an effort to reclaim their lost.
When alternative aliens come across a lone human, they send them back to Earth with some of Jenny's casserole. The policy was quickly updated to flatter and plan contingencies for an inevitable human empire.

"Its a real shame that we can't recruit Flayn in Crimson Flower, she is so fking naive and stupid to realize that her family is propping up a corrupt system and manipulating humanity for centuries" Black Eagles Flayn in Crimson Flower has to be the worst take and concept that I've heard, it is the equivalent of Hubert joining another house. Like, why would she join forces with the people invading her home and starting a war just because she only found out that hurdur "my family supports corrupt caste system" and Flayn isn't even that naive to realize that just now. And even if she realizes that just now, she'll vehemently insist that burning everything down won't fix the system.
Not to mention that Edelgard worked with the people who kidnapped her and drained her blood for a month. But yeah crests bad! Ignore that it's just blood, but having the blood of this one race is bad and makes you inhumane!
CF Flayn makes me laugh. It's to make Rhea the villain while acting like "Well I don't think ALL Nabateans are bad! There are some good ones IF they side with Edelgard!"
