Panel of Super Fans for Speakers Jam - March 16th
We’re excited about our first Speakers Jam!
Aren’t you?
After our Fall 2016 event, we came up with this idea to highlight more businesses and to fill the room for our speakers!
Five questions we had to answer were:
What options do we have to bring more value to everyone?
How do we fill the room for the speakers?
How do we pick the speakers for the fair?
How do we give more visibility to the speakers?
What can we do to promote The Wellness Fair even more?
Those answers were simple…
The Speakers Jam
The Speakers Jam is one night highlighting twenty local experts.
This event creates a win-win-win-win situation for all those involved.
They have 3-minutes each to educate a room full of eager Wellness Enthusiasts. Think of it as each speaker is taking up an entire commercial break during your favorite TV show. It’s more than enough time to deliver their message of wellness.
Over 120 people are able to attend as spectators and learn, grow, connect with others.
If you’re unable to attend, you can join the world and still learn by watching our live video stream.
A Panel of Super Fans will evaluate and elect the Top 5 speakers at the end of the Speakers Jam to determine who will receive a full 45-minutes at The Wellness Fair!
Job of the Super Fans
Each Super Fan is a Wellness Enthusiast who come from all different backgrounds.
Whether they are business owners, professional speakers, authors, toastmasters, or podcasters; they all have one thing in common – love to learn about health & wellness!!
Our ten Super Fans who will rank each speaker on ten different criteria.
A perfect score is 1,000/1,000!
The Top 5 Speakers will be announced at the end and will pick their speaking time for The Wellness Fair – on the spot!

Customer Feedback Loop is Follow Through
An excerpt from my upcoming book on strategic and resilient teams.
The concept of customer value, and having a customer-focused team or company is nothing new; follow through is. A customer feedback loop is the actual follow through on getting the voice of the customer for which most teams and organizations fail to take action.
Beyond the expensive, centralized (far removed from where value is delivered), often-slow-to-get-results practice of surveys, there is a need for a feedback loop at the front line. If teams are where the actual value is delivered, they are likely a great source for a meaningful customer feedback loop.

As a swim meet announcer for my daughter’s swim team, I have witnessed many fantastic moments. In 2019 I announced a meet that had 230 female swimmers compete in the 50 meter freestyle. There were 12 ties (swim exact same time) in the event, and in one of them, three swimmers had the exact same time. Yet the effort for each of these swims was unique. Different dives into the water, and nuances of stroke technique.
There is more than one way to do it right. This helps us feel more comfortable with experimenting, and testing out our hypotheses. A looser grip on your latest idea.

Innovation Silo
“Of course they made cool stuff. They were isolated from our huge company’s funding, leaders, and location. We could pull that off, too, if we got to do that.”
Ah, the innovation silo strikes again. Companies seeking to adjust and adapt faster, as with business agility, know better.
They know and practice that innovation is on everyone’s agenda, as an ongoing commitment.

Decision Pile
Micro decisions are the ones you make all day long. They often go unnoticed, which means they are unaccounted for. They pile up.
Until one day, they are noticeable. A pile of small decisions, stacked up over time, now reveals itself in the most obvious way.
Apply reflection and focus to your days, so your micro decisions add up in the most positive and creative way.

“Let’s Cancel it.”
December is the season for many things, including canceled meetings.
There’s usually a good reason for the cancellation, but is it the right reason? Take a look at the intent of the meeting. What changed today that truly challenges the intent?
If nothing challenges the intent, try keeping the meeting. What if only two of you attend? Don’t worry about the logistics of only two of you. Focus on the intent.
Even when even just two team members gather, and uphold the intent of a meeting, value is created.
