⛰GETTING OVER IT⛰ Getting over things, people, relationships is a myth we love to believe in. We often see challenges as mountains we can climb, peak and then release as we descend. Emotions and attachments are not like that. They are more like stars in the galaxy. They hold a certain relationship to each other, and over time planets, stars and constellations shift in their relationship to each other. How we respond to these changes and transitions defines our experience of them. We can’t get over something as though it were a physical object. It is an element of an experience. It is not linear, or really quantifiable, and the relationship between these heavenly bodies shifts according to perspective. This is why there are different types of astrology. They view the sky from a different standpoint. We cannot ‘get over ‘ something, but we can come to a place of acceptance which allows us to let go our attachment to it/them. This element of our experience then integrates itself seamlessly without any need for effort or striving. When we realise that it is not about us per se, but about everything finding its own place and us allowing it to do so, the pressure is off. Move towards, dance, move away. This is the harmony we so admire when we observe it. I have been taught that the process of life is not personal, but our experience of life is very personal (Burgs). When we personalise the integral aspects of the process of life like change, mutability, evolution, we are in resistance to the persistent geometry of the Universe. When we are able to recognise the line between the impersonal process of life and how we tailor our personal experience through perspective, we can really begin to allow ourselves to become a part of the cosmic dance.
