y'all get this. you're gonna love this.

i went to renew my car registration online last week and was slapped with a nice juicy "NON-RENEWAL" banner when i entered my information. why, you ask? i asked the same thing!

turns out that i had an unpaid toll fee (?!) from june that i was completely unaware of. because of the way toll plazas are just stupid fucking photo booths now, i don't even remember going through this toll. but apparently i did, because they have a picture of my car going through it. whatever. it's like $1.

here's the rub, though. i never received an invoice in the mail for this, and yes my address is up-to-date. so the next month the fee went up. then it went up. then it went up. then it went to collections, where it incurred a $25 fine and barred me from renewing my registration. the total fee they wanted me to pay to clear my non-renewal was nearly $30. for a toll i never even got an invoice to pay. and for those wondering, in order to view and pay your toll online, you must have either the invoice number from the state DOT, or you must have the ticket number from the RMV after you get a non-renewal. which means that even if i had remembered i went through the toll and had attempted to pay it, i would not have been able to because i never got an invoice.

so i did what any pissed off state-hating woman does. i wrote a dispute letter to the DOT saying exactly what i said above and declaring it unjustifiable and wrong.

i did not receive any automated confirmation email that my dispute claim was successfully submitted, nor did i receive any correspondence back about it. but, magically, when i went to the DOT website to check the status of it this afternoon, as i logged in to the RMV website to grab the ticket number, it was gone. and my non-renewal was cleared.

funny, that.

anyway kids the moral of the story is to always fight back against injustice from the state. they're just bullies hoping to grift people who are too timid or too busy to deal with their bullshit. never let it slide. always fight back.

A reminder that being against Israel bombing civilians is not the same as being for Hamas.

Palestinians deserve freedom from violent statists, both foreign and domestic. You can point to the evils of Hamas all you want. It will still not justify what Israel is doing. It will still not justify the countless innocents, including children, being slaughtered en masse.

You can point to Hamas taking hostages. It will still not justify what Israel is doing. You can point to Hamas bombing civilians. It will still not justify what Israel is doing. You can point to Hamas using civilian locations to hide themselves and their operations. It will still not justify what Israel is doing - in fact it would be a reason they need to be more careful (not careless) if their aim really was Hamas.

There is nothing to be said about Hamas that justifies Israel's actions.

I'm fucking fuming

My insurance says they will pay for my facial hair removal. They only do so after about 6 months of hrt, pretty shitty but I can deal with it.

However, no fucking dermatologist will accept their rates. After contacting someone at the insurance they were like "oh, no worries, there's actually a lot of doctors who collaborate with us on this, here's a list :)"

Said list consist of 40 doctors spread throughout the whole country. Ok, I thought, lets see whos closest. They're like 100km away but I can manage if I take like half a day off. I look them up and THEY ARE PRIVATE ONLY.

Like why would you put them on the list then? I couldn't find the other dermatologist in the same city from that list bc they just dont exist anymore?

Like literally my options are spending a significant chunk of yearly vacation days on traveling to fucking Köln, Münster or Darmstadt and paying like 2,5k to 3k to do it privately.

I want to commit arson

Edit: I should add that I also have to pay for cryoconservation out of pocket. Even though my insurance told me they'd cover it. They didn't. When I asked my endocrinologist about that, since he handles a lot of trans people, he was like "yeah, they do that sadly. You'd be the first I've seen make pay for it".

husbeast took an extremely minor promotion at work. they gave him 2 hours of “training” (by which i mean they made him watch videos for two hours), then expected him to handle upwards of $90,000 a DAY without mistakes and without help, without ever actually having someone show him how to do it.

and if he makes a mistake, he is immediately fired and there’s a legal investigation to make sure he didn’t steal any of it.

the raise for this “promotion”? an extra $50/MONTH

a MONTH. for him to risk his entire position and even his freedom if they get the police involved, which they would. FOR A MEASLY FIFTY FUCKING DOLLARS A MONTH. AND ZERO HELP.

BUT THEY MAKE $90,000 A DAY IN JUST CASH AND CHECKS. NOT EVEN INCLUDING CARDS, WHICH IS HOW MOST PEOPLE PAY. BUT THEY CAN’T AFFORD TO PAY PEOPLE A LIVING FUCKING WAGE?!!? YOU WOT, MATE?!
