The trollhunter team entered Merlin’s tomb ready to face whatever was inside waiting for them. Y/n was ready to let them face the tests on their own. She trusted her friends, she trusted her father if this was meant to be then they didn’t need her.
She felt like a scientist observing her little mice, getting excited when Toby accidentally stepped on the right tile but frustrated when he didn’t realize what the bag was for. Luckily, Claire quickly sprung into action solving the puzzle in record time. Putting the bag on the tile, taking the room back in time, planting the seed next to the wall they needed to climb, going back and taking the room back to the present with a gigantic plant that they could climb to get to the other side, all in less than five minutes.
Y/n had to bite her cheek to stop a laugh from erupting from her chest. She imagined her father seeing this, seeing Claire demolish his ‘oh so clever trap’ in record time.
“Claire, you’re a genius”
“Good work, Claire”
The team praised as they climbed the root to the other room.
The second room was dark. Here there was no light shining through the outside.
“Ugh” Toby grunted. He had tripped on a rock “Wish we had a light”
“Oh, wait” Claire opened her backpack and pulled out a flashlight “I hate it when my parents are right” she moved the flashlight trying to get a sense of the room.
Claire’s light hit the wall, they returned a green light. The girl frowned, pointing her flashlight directly to the wall not moving it this time.
“Whoa” Toby gasped.
The walls illuminated revealing drawings along them.
Toby ran to observe the drawings from up close.
“Great Gorgus!” Exclaimed Blinky “This appears to be a depiction of history. A timeline”
“The staff of avalon” Jim pointed out.
Y/n got closer to the wall to observe the drawings. She saw Morgana standing proudly next to Merlin, it was back when she was his student, back when hope was still enough. She saw her father standing tall, serious, a little more hair than he had the last time she saw him and then, down to the left, she saw herself with her staff, she was still a child. It was an anomaly that a child had won their staff but she’s her father’s daughter.
She caressed the indentation in the wall, her posture may indicate determination but she was still a child with sad eyes. Y/n smiled, her sadness indicated one thing, that Douxie wasn’t living in the castle yet. Her determination was a facade for the kingdom to see. She wishes she could go back in time to say to herself ‘Hang on! A raven haired boy and his cat are going to come by and save you!’
Y/n’s reflection is cut short by Aaarrrgghh’s roar. She turns around and sees Angor Rot attack the troll with his dagger.
“Run for your life!” Blinky screamed at the trio.
The kids ran as fast as they could but Angor was mad, focused on killing them. He was able to catch up with them by climbing the wall. He jumped and grabbed Jim’s arms, both of them falling to the ground.
“Trollhunter!” Angor Rot squeezed his dagger.
Jim screamed when he saw the troll face from up close.
Aaarrrgghh hit the wall creating an avalanche of stones, giving Jim the possibility to escape from Angor Rot grasp and the trollhunter team to escape from the room.
“Ha! Oh!” Toby laughed before he tripped on something hard.
They turned around and Claire illuminated the floor. Draal’s arm was squeezed into a gate on the floor.
“Draal” Jim took the arm out activating the sharp blades of the trap.
“Is a dead end” Claire said as the blades spun threatening to tear them apart.
Angor Rot screamed as he escaped his tomb of stones, dagger in hand.
“Plan! Plan! Plan? Anyone? We need a plan!” Toby screamed, stretching his arms, trying to protect his friends behind him.
“Draal’s arm. Gunmar must’ve used it to halt the blades” said Blinky.
“Here goes something!” Jim pushed the bronze hand against the blades stopping the mechanism.
Angor Rot growled and charged like a mad bull.
“Go, go, go” Jim was the last to jump, taking Draal’s hand with him.
“I’ll kill you” the troll screamed.
“Jim!!” Toby screamed as he lost his balance on the white quartz he was standing on.
“Wingman!!” Aaarrrgghh ran behind him, jumping to the void and grabbing the quartz as he was able to catch Toby by his pants “Gotcha!”
“Toby!!” Y/n ran to the border and saw the troll balancing himself with one hand while with the other he was holding Toby as they hanged over nothingness.
“I never thought I’d enjoy a wedgie so much” Toby laughed.
Y/n chuckled in relief, walking back giving Aaarrrgghh and Toby space to climb back.
Outside of the cave, in the event of danger, she had her magic, she could always step up if the situation needed it but here, in the cave where no magic was allowed, the only thing she had was a dagger that was useless in this situation.
“Oh, Nana was right. Gonna need those extra undies” Toby panted, fixing his pants.
“Toby” Claire screamed as she threw herself in her arms.
Jim put his free hand on his shoulder with a smile.
Y/n ruffled his hair.
“By Deya’s grace. It appears we’re in the innermost sanctum. The heart of Merlin’s tomb” Blinky admired the infinity cave illuminated by white crystals.
“If this is the heart, I bet Merlin’s staff is somewhere close” said Jim.
Angor Rot’s screams and struggle to get through could still be heard in the distance.
“Draal can’t be far. Look for the staff, I’ll get him back” Jim continued.
“I’ll go with you” Y/n looked at Jim.
“Y/n, no”
“Listen, there’s not much time and you can’t really win me in stubbornness”
Toby nodded
“So I’m going with you. You have no excuse this time. No armor, no sword, no amulet”
Jim took a moment to observe her sister and frowned “Fine” Jim nodded.
“There’s only one way to go” said Blinky
“Down!” Completed Aaarrrgghh
The siblings started to climb down the never ending stairs of crystals in silence. Y/n walked a little behind Jim.
‘He has grown so much’ she thought as she observed the way he walked. The determination in his face, his baby face that couldn’t grow a beard yet ‘Young. Much too young’
She wondered what was with the world and the chosen ones. Why must they be that young? Was it absolutely necessary for the plan? Was the sacrifice of the youth an element so necessary that we must use it again, again and again?
She had lived almost nineteen years next to her father and had never come close to understanding the why of the youngness of the victors, of the saints, of the greats, of the trollhunter in this case. Nine thousand nineteen years walking this earth and still she can’t find an answer as to why a sixteen year old. Why her sixteen year old brother?
Guilt brews in her stomach. If she was able to face Morgana without folding to the memory of what once was maybe this wouldn’t be happening.
“Nothing yet over here” Jim screamed to his friends “This place feels like it goes on forever” he said lower.
“I know, right?” Y/n said, trying to swallow the guilt.
Jim kept walking, gaining distance from his sister. A big growl made Y/n run behind him.
“Guys, I found Draal!” Jim's scream resonated through the cave.
“Hurry! We should regroup” screamed back Blinky.
“Are you okay?!” Y/n screamed when she saw her brother laying down on the ground.
Draal sighed. He was already resigned to the uncomfortable position he was in, multiple crystals holding him in place.
“I’m alright!” Jim stood up and went to help Draal, Y/n right behind him.
“I made an oath to protect you. I have broken that oath. I remember attacking you. I have lost my honor, failed you all!” Draal said, clenching his fist.
“No. It’s not your fault. Gunmar forced you to do things you would never have done yourself. You were under his control” Jim helped the troll put his metal arm and looked him into the eyes “You’re not just my protector, Draal. You’re my friend” Jim hugged Draal, surprising the troll but he quickly reciprocated it.
Y/n looked up trying to give them some privacy.
“Where is it?” Gunmar's angry screams echoed through the cave.
“Gunmar” Y/n looked at Jim.
“We gotta beat him to the staff” Jim turned to Draal “Come on, Draal”
“By my father’s name, he will taste vengeance!” The troll chuckled.
The three of them started to climb down the crystals.
“I see it!” Claimed Jim.
Y/n looked down and saw the green glimmer of the staff of Avalon. The staff was embedded in a crystal cut in half. She took a deep breath. They were halfway through their trip.
“Gunmar’s almost got the staff” Jim said as he slid down to a place Y/n couldn’t follow.
“You get to the staff! I’ll take care of Gunmar” Draal turned his back, inviting Jim to climb in “Hang on, Trollhunter!” He screamed as he jumped to the crystal holding the staff.
“No” Y/n whispered, extending her hands as if she could stop them. She hanged there as she saw Draal pushing Gunmar out of the way so Jim could grab the staff of Avalon. She let go of the worry she had stuck in her lungs in the form of a chuckle when she saw Jim wielding the staff.
“Trollhunter” Angor Rot fell from the sky falling onto the crystal Jim was standing, the strength of the fall breaking it.
“Jim” Y/n screamed.
The trollhunter fell backwards with the crystal clinging to it only with one hand.
“Give me the staff, Trollhunter!” Gunmar jumped to the sinking crystal and tried to take the staff from him.
Jim jumped to the side but the movements of the crystal made him fall.
“Gatcha” Drall caught him by the feet and threw him back into action.
Y/n dug her nails into the crystal, she felt every piece dug into her skin but she couldn’t feel the pain. She couldn’t intervene. She couldn’t help. She felt the tears burning her face as she saw Gunmar clawing Draal’s chest, as she heard her brother plead for the life of his friend.
“We are too late. Gunmar has the staff!” Blinky gasps.
Y/n shakes her head, trying to concentrate back in the present. She let go of the crystal she was holding and jumped to the one her friends were in observing Gunmar stealing the staff.
The group gasped. Angor Rot jumped, magic dagger in hand, ready to stab Jim but Draal stood in the way, getting stabbed instead. Draal quickly grabbed Angor Rot in a chokehold, if he was going down he was going to take the evil that killed him with him.
“You would give your life for a human? Why?” Angor tried to escape Draal’s grip but it was impossible.
“Because he’s my friend!” Draal walked backwards and looked at Jim one last time “It has been my honor, fleshbag” he said before jumping.
“Draal” Jim screamed, running toward the edge where his friend had jumped. Blinky and Toby followed him and dragged him out of the collapsing crystal
“Draal” Jim kept calling.
Y/n held Jim into her arms and whispered into his brother’s hair “He’s gone, Jim, I’m sorry”
“And without the magic of the staff, the cave is collapsing” Blinky warned.
They looked up and saw Aaarrrgghh stopping a crystal big enough to smash all of them.
“Go” screamed the troll as he toasted the crystal into the abyss.
The team ran following the light of an exit that was crushed by a rock big enough that not even Aaarrrgghh could lift.
“Too big” Aaarrrgghh said as he pushed the boulder.
“It’s okay, wingman. You tried” consoled Toby.
“It’s hardly okay” Blinky pushed past Toby. Y/n doesn’t remember seeing him leave “We’re on the distinctly wrong side of the cavern’s collapse. Merlin’s tomb will now apparently become our own” he screamed as he pushed the rock.
The cavern’s growls became more intense, suddenly the crystal started to fall more strongly and frequently. The team ran to Aaarrrgghh looking for refuge.
Y/n closed her eyes trying not to laugh at the irony of dying at the hands of the contraption she builded. As if the world was answering her, the falling of rubble stopped.
“Or we could go that way. There’s an opening” Claire pointed out.
“Thus affording us the opportunity to be trapped somewhere else” complained Blinky.
“Or it’s a way out, huh?” Said Toby “You just gotta think positive”
“I’m not entirely sure I know how” explained Blinky as they started to walk the new path.
“We can tell” said Y/n.
The team kept walking, hiking the falling crystals.
“We need to find a way to go up” said Jim.
“Hmm. Right. Yeah, look for some stairs or better yet, an elevator” Toby laughed
Y/n laughed. She was glad for Toby’s humor right now because she had no idea where they were.
“That way!” Indicated Aaarrrgghh.
Everyone followed and Y/n wished she could live in a moment ago, when she was ignorant of where they were.
“Great Globus, it’s him” announced Blinky.
“Is it really?” Asked Claire
“Must be” said Aaarrrgghh
“Merlin” Jim named him and the stone from the amulet that he kept in his pocket started to shine. He took it out and walked towards the sleeping wizard.
Y/n started to walk backwards, trying to blend with the walls. A part of her wanted to run to her father’s arms, the other just wanted to disappear.
Two small lights jumped from the stone to Merlin’s eyes. Jim got closer, illuminating the wizard with the stone trying to observe him closer. Merlin’s eyes opened wide and took a deep breath, swallowing the spiderwebs. Jim screamed in terror.
Y/n put a hand in his mouth, trying to keep the laughter from coming out.
Jim stood up and observed in awe at the one dead wizard now having a coughing fit.
Merlin, now calm down, lay back down and looked to the side
“Are you the trollhunter?”
“Uh, uh” Jim couldn’t speak.
“I thought you’d be taller” Melin said.
Y/n started to bite her hand so she wouldn’t laugh.
“Yes, I expected much taller. And older” Merlin dusted his armor of “How old are you? Ten?
“Uh, sixteen?” Jim smiled.
“I guess I was only off by, mmm…” Merlin lay back down and started to do the math in his head “Six plus four, carry the one…fourteen years”
Y/n’s laughter died in her throat, her hands fell to her side ‘He wasn’t expecting a child?’
“Holy Merlin. It’s really you!” Toby screamed.
“Just what kind of troll are you?” Merlin looked at Toby up and down
“I’m not a troll! I’m a Toby”
“And who is this lovely creature?”
Claire chuckled.
Y/n smiled. She remembered being a child and her father playing pretend with her. Dancing around his office and all his introductions starting with “And who is this lovely creature?”
“Blinkous Galadrigal, at your ser…”
“Not you” Merlin stopped Blinky and turned back to Claire “You”
“Uh, Claire Nuñez, sir” she walked out from behind Blinky.
“A pleasure, my dear”
“Oh, she gets to be “my dear”” Toby turns to Y/n and rolls his eyes.
Y/n opens her eyes wide. She looks back at Merlin, but he was busy cracking every bone in his body. She sighed in relief.
“Okay, then, first things first” Merlin rubbed his hands “Why haven’t you greeted me?” He lifts his brow.
The team looked at each other in confusion.
Y/n pushed herself out of the wall
“I…I…” her mouth opened and closed but no sound came out.
“I can see you” Merlin insisted.
The team turned and looked at Y/n.
“I thought…you may want to meet the team first” her accent heavy on her tongue.
“Come to the light” the wizard ordered but his voice was soft.
Y/n looked at her friends' confused faces and looked down, walking the few steps that separated her from her father.
She saw her father’s beard contour in a smile that she mirrored.
“Hi” she whispered as she looked up to his blue eyes.
“I’ve been away for a long time” He grabs her by the shoulders “You really have grown, birdie” he whispers only for her to hear.
Y/n smiles and nods, trying to hold the tears in place. She imagined a thousand times having her father back in front of her, she never imagined her anger would melt.
“I have missed you, father” she smiles, taking one of his hands.
“Whaaaaat?” Toby says.

Hello! 👋
I'm sure it's already in your drafts, but may I request some clarity on the colors in MLC?
I don't get a red rascal vibe from Jim, unless they meant something else putting him in all those reds and warm Earth tones (ha!). And Wen in blues/teals? A blue boy?
You're so good at this and I just can't wait to hear from you. 🤩 Also Infidelity Rooster the Series is fantastic so far, so thrilled that it's living up to the hype and everyone is Being So Normal about it 🤣
@abstractelysium - I’ve seen this show referred to as Gay Chicken, Infidelity Rooster, and Lunar Cock, so I love that all of y’all decided that Moonlight Chicken just wasn’t serving the juiciness we needed.
Now onto the COLORS!
Tumblr media
Let me apologize for the confusion. I do not think Wen and Jim are color-coded, at least not in the way many other shows code their leads. Instead, the colors are symbolic of the moon and the sun. The Eclipse and Big Dragon both incorporated the moon and the sun into the narrative of the story. Colors, in both, were used to symbolize the moon and sun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In my initial analysis for The Eclipse, I pinned Ayan as the moon (alone) and Akk as the sun (popular); however, Ayan was red and Akk was blue. Big Dragon did something similar by making Yai the moon and Mangkorn the sun, yet Yai’s safe spaces were during the day while Mangkorn’s were at night. These shows are demonstrating how the moon and sun need each other, and they must meet in the middle to to do so (during an eclipse or at dawn).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The moon is represented by yin which is darkness, water, and feminine energy, and the sun is represented by yang which is light, fire, and masculine energy (ex. Ayan and Akk eating at night by the water on the blue chairs versus them fighting on the red mat). Both are opposites but compliment each other and are needed for the balance of life. We saw this to some degree as well in KinnPorsche with Kinn (water) and Porsche (fire).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Moonlight Chicken is doing the same, it is saying Wen is the moon and Jim is the sun, yet they exist in the opposite worlds. Wen’s apartment is full of cool tones and he wears blue in the first episode, while Jim’s house is full of warm tones and he wears red throughout the first episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even when they come together in Jim's living room, they align with their colors.
Tumblr media
Jim’s life is constantly full of people. Wen is alone most of the time. However, Jim naturally doesn’t start his day until much later because he works at night, while Wen has a day job. The visuals are showing us how they compliment each other. Night and Day. Dark and Light. Accessible and Isolated. Jim is not a red rascal. Jim is the sun and gives life to others through his warmth. Wen is not a blue boy. He is the moon and helps light the path for others in times of darkness.
Tumblr media
Heart and Li Ming also show this dynamic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heart, the moon, is isolated and alone, but Li Ming’s life is full of interactions and conversations with others. Li Ming is the sun who gives Heart warmth and Heart will be the one to light Li Ming’s path during dark times.
Tumblr media
There will still be an exchange of colors. There always is (unless you are Sam on GAP who REFUSES to wear Mon’s pink! AHHHHHH!), but the exchange won’t be as much about feelings as it is about balance. As the pairs begin to harmonize, we will see them exchange colors (or hues of them).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The moon only shines because it reflects the sun’s light, and the moon provides stability (the Earth would wobble without the pull of the moon, and it creates a rhythm through the tides). In order to have life, we need both the sun and the moon. We need their light. We need their love.

So I wrote a fic for @batboysxprompts for Pumpkin. It's a #steddie Halloween fic. That became a little longer than I anticipated. Reminder I haven't wrote since high school and this was done on my phone notepad so I apologize for format being kinda meh. Anyway hope you enjoy and Happy Halloween!! 🎃:
He stands on the porch holding the horror tape he was asked to bring, fixing his glasses one more time. Almost hesitating to knock, he doesn't want to seem too eager, he told himself to ease into things with this. Eddie and him had found something in each other that clicked since the Vecna incident happened.
The kids were growing up finally free to roam without the threat of a ticking clock or whatever creature that stumbled into this dimension. They were out at a monster/horror double feature at the drive-in, Wayne out with Jim for beers and bowling, leaving him and Eddie alone for the night.
He could smell Wayne's famous chili through the door, as he raised and knocked. Eddie had invited him over for a surprise, he honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but a night in with him sure beat any Halloween rager that would be going on tonight.
It didn't take long before he was greeted with big earthy brown eyes and smile, pulling him in for a warm embrace, "I was wondering what was taking you so long out there big boy. C'mon I need your help, what we need is in the back of the van still."
"Back of the van-? What do you have planned?", he follows puzzled after letting go of him.
"Well I didn't want anyone to smash them before we had our fun with them!", opening the back doors to his van to reveal two big pumpkins. "I stopped at Merrill's Pumpkin Patch on my way home. Figured we could carve them, have some of Wayne's chili he left in the crock pot for us, and maybe watch whatever movie you picked out."
He looks at Eddie taking him in as he's nervously fidgeting with his hair, "This isn't to lame for Steve Harrington is it? This is probably lame. I mean we could do something el-"
"N-no no! This is actually perfect," he cuts him off to stop the self doubt. He rubs the back of his neck, "I've just never carved a jack-o-latern before."
"What!? How have you never done this before?!", he shrieks theatrically.
"Dad didn't like getting dirty, said mud would ruin my our clothes. Same with trick or treating, they were never home so I'd order pizza with the money they left and just watch movies until I pass out. Then high school happened, that stuff just wasn't cool anymore.", Eddie just pulls him into his side, gives him small kiss on the temple. He knows all too well what it's like to have a shit father too.
"Well we're going to change that Pumpkin make this our new tradition. Mom did this with me up until she passed, Wayne and I carried on with it after that, now I get to share it with you.", he reminiscences before pressing another kiss to my cheek and going in to grab a pumpkin to hand it to me and grab the other before closing the door.
"You're such a sweetheart, you know that? My knight in shining armor", I say as we make it into the house. "Only the best for you my liege," he smiles back, if their hands weren't full he playfully swoon into his arms.
Setting up at the kitchen table, Eddie had laid out newspaper and utensils to carve and scrape out the inwards. They come up with designs, Eddie of course meticulous with detail. When he sticks his hand to pull out the guts, it's definitely a weird experience. He has to remind himself that the Upside Down is gone that this thing won't bury its teeth in and drag him under.
He looks at Eddie, his tongue sticking out at the corner of his mouth and the look of determination is enough to push all those bad thoughts away. He's such a kid at heart, and he really loves this man for it. He settles with something that would make Laurie Stroude proud, which is fitting for the movie he brought. Eddie makes sure to save the seeds to rinse, salt, and cook for Wayne later. Tea lights are lit and put into the finished jack-o-laterns. Eddie has out done himself with a tall tower with a dragon wrapped around it. Light shines through the tower window. Eddie takes a snapshot with his Polaroid camera to preserve the memory.
They settle in with a bowl of chili that always hits the spot with this chill in the air. Steve will have to tell Wayne later this one was for the books as he sets his bowl to rub his stomach. Once Eddie finishes he picks both bowls up to set in the sink to soak and wash later. He hurries back to Steve on the couch resuming his spot cuddled up to him.
Steve laces their fingers together, bringing them to his lips to kiss Eddie's knuckles, "Thank you sweetheart, I really needed this."
"Anything for you pumpkin," he grins before pulling him closer to kiss him properly. They settle in for the night eventually dozing on the couch.
When Wayne gets home he smiles getting out of the truck. Lights dimly flickering in the pumpkins on the porch brings a warm smile to his face. Going in he's sure to be quiet, his boys asleep on the couch. Taking Steve's glasses off and putting them on a nearby table before pulling a blanket over the both of them. He's happy deep down seeing Eddie find someone who understands him, he was reluctant at first, but over time he could see Steve needed and loved him just as much. And with that he turns off the kitchen light and calls it a night knowing this house finally feels like a home.

Thank you @lovely-menza for tagging me <3 This is the first time I'm doing such a post, as in, answering for questions in the post, without it being an ask game, so let's roll with it!
Are you named after anyone? Nope, my mom just heard the name on a party one day and she loved it ever since. And that's why I am named how I am named
When was the last time you cried? In the last year, quite a few months ago. It was connected with being laughed at by a close person due to him being after one beer and him not being able to drink at his age. And let's leave it at that
Do you have kids? Nope, but I would like to, if I find a good guy. I mean, I don't want a random weirdo or a creep in my life. I'm either getting a good guy or I'm living alone, without a care - I mean I have music...
Do you use sarcasm a lot? Only when i'm joking. Other than that, I'm brutally honest
What's the first thing you notice about people? Their eyes or smile. It's usually the eyes though. You can fake a smile, be more kinder with it, if you intend to do so. But eyes? You can't hide anything behind them. If you have bad intentions, it is shown in the way you look at someone. I usually am looking in the eyes when speaking to someone and when they speak to me I do the same. Let me tell you one thing - you can get scared shitless when you hear kind words and the person's eyes shine in a very bad way and you know they have bad intentions. I like to know if I'm safe or not
What's your eye colour? They are hazel. Once blue, the other time green, some other time gray blue or gray entirely or kinda white if I feel ill. Mom says that I usually have gray eyes when I'm very sleepy
Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings. I like to see the adventure presented in the media I'm watching have a good ending. Additional point if I like the characters! Then it's double the fun to see them happy at the very end
Any special talents? Maybe it's not a special talent, but I can hear wrong notes in a song very often, catch the rhythm of the song - oh boy, if it's changing during the song then I have so much fun with listening to it! - and memorize the entire melody if I hear the song a lot of times. I literally sometimes sit and play the entire song in my head if it's too quiet. I did that on the last test on statistics! Hehe, silence in class and I was listening to Scars on Broadway in my head while counting - got an A, that proves something XD
Where were you born? Poland! I'm still living there and I don't plan on moving somewhere else - maybe to another city, but then again I don't wanna leave my parents behind so yeah (a little bit of babbling :3)
What are your hobbies? Listening to music, playing on guitar - I started playing in July in 2022, I'm not very good at it yet, but I have a lot of fun! - and maybe writing from time to time some fanfiction. I like creating ocs ^u^
Have you any pets? Yes, a female canary. She's my lovely orb of feathers, who has almost the same music taste as mine - oh GOD, I played "Alabama Song (Whisky Bar)" by The Doors yesterday on my phone to quickly clean and come back to watching a tv series. The feathery orb sung so loudly along with Jim Morrison and the rest! I wasn't expecting her to give such a bright concert ;u;
What sports do you play/have played? None, I am the person who hated sports XD
How tall are you? 162/164 cm I believe? I am fairly short
Favourite subject in school? Polish lessons. They were fun, despite that some of the school readings were boring. But I could listen to so much stories about the society in the past ages. This was interesting!
Dream job? Working in a library - I'm working hard to get to that goal
Tag 15 people... Let's see if I have so much mutuals XD @furiousbirdballoon @juliearchery107 @jimmysdragonsuit13 @malakianwhvre @explodingegg123 @itsdareeeh @cantag-curtis @diedeadenovgh @circle-bircle @w0rldl0ngg0ne That's all I can think of at the moment. If anyone stumbles upon this post and wants to join, feel free <3 The rest of tagged people? Join the fun if you want :3

First. I love this loose hinged bastard
Tumblr media
Maybe, like Hustler, right? The guys who bring the truth to us often have a few scruples loose. Gotta pick out the wheat from the chaff.
But look at this guy.
Tumblr media
Remind you of this guy?

I love smelling salts Kid. Oh my. Like, that’s just a head canon, but it’s so much fun.
Okay. Smouldering Surgeon!

I don’t care if he looks constipated or in pain. In conjunction with this:

We’re winning! Although, I wonder if Bepo will have such stars in his eyes when he realises that he’s no longer in Captain’s Bounty Poster picture. AND I’ll just plug my fic about Bepo’s and Chopper’s criminally low bounties, cos’ I’ve got a whole month before Oda shoots it full of holes.
Gotta give the new emperor his time to shine, right?
Tumblr media
So, are emperors’ bounties not frozen, like the shichibukai? Maybe it was Teach’s “D” the gorosei didn’t want getting out. But  thought that was common knowledge too. I’m so glad to see Law still
kinda flying under the radar (with knowledge of being a holder of the will of D, anyway). No... they don’t mention Teach’s “D”. Hmm.
Ah, you know, I always thought that CPO had real callbacks to Picasso’s art which had callbacks to a lot of African art  and artefacts, and for this guy
Tumblr media
to be called Guernica-sama, even though the more Picasso elements seem to come from seeing them as a

it fits. Also, destruction. I’m probably missing something. Oda sometimes does things on a whim, but many other things he does with intention.
Okay, that was an aside. Guernica Sama sent through pictures of Joy Boy and then met his fate.
Edit in: Guernica is probably this dude:

which fits the style (Picasso’s) rather than the agent I first stated.
Tumblr media
Shout out to my Okinawan man (above), terribly repressed under the Japanese Imperial government, all finesse, all class, knowing what is to be savoured and willing to savour it. His presence alone allowing the head chef to save face. The Okinawan kingdom was Ryukyu, btw. (Fishman Island is Ryugu).
Tumblr media
And I love the sound of all of these delicacies, earthy, although not filling: kikurage (or possibly  aragekikurage), tofu (gotta look up the specification), renkon, pickles, I don’t know the last one, everything is actually vegetable based though, AND I totally understand everyone going for festival food too, though! Oda plays such a dance between patronage to monarchs and mockery of them.
Tumblr media
Lastly, we got our Jim Morrison wannabe here, like, his threads, man. I don’t care for Fabio Momo or Fabio long-haired Sanji, like, Ugh. But this kinda unkempt I can get into. Mix between Brook and Zoro, but RIP…
Tumblr media
Queen and King—you placed your bets on the wrong kinda Joker, unfortunately. I love that Doflamingo is Joker. The wild card. You don’t know how much I love it. Oda has kept him alive for a reason.
BUT, to introduce a beauty such as King to wipe him out so easily, and to desiccate Queen? Where’s Jack? And is this who I think it is?
Tumblr media
Is that Caribou? Or what I remember of him? BUT, last seen, King and Queen in Onigashima, now in Udon, apparently. And Caribour too? Oda’s got a few too many loose ends to be able to tie them all up.
My thoughts on Robin and Kozuki Sukiyaki are here.
oh, wait. Gotta get these guys in.
Tumblr media
Bepo with squid and Ikkaku with shaved ice and bubble tea. I think that Shachi’s probably got some potato croquettes or something similar.
Tumblr media
Lookit! Just Lookit! I think Killer’s got himself a bunch of takoyaki there, though could be wrong, and Oda’s portraying the Kid pirates as slightly less alcoholic than the Hearts. I bet he sometimes regrets making the Hearts so generic, BUT I guess it’s easier to draw them.
Tumblr media
And Killer wasn’t too worried about Kid’s murderous intent and competitiveness, so I guess we shouldn’t be either. And I think Oda’s having too much fun drawing cartoon eyes popping from the face.
Tumblr media
Guess Law is right. If Luffy’s aim is to bring down all the four yonkou—

what does he do now that he’s his own target?

Against All Odds
Part 179
McCoy
“Come on Jim,” McCoy said to the blond boy. “Let’s go send that info to my father and he can get it taken care of right now.”
“Sure…” Jim agreed slowly.
McCoy gave Scotty’s arm a squeeze, then led Jim from the lounge.
“Why…?” Jim asked quietly as they walked up the stairs.
“Because it’ll make you happy. And it’ll make Spock happy too. You shouldn’t have to be miserable all summer. And,… because you’re my friend Jim.”
They entered McCoy’s room and he picked up his PADD. He opened a message to his father and waited for Jim to give him the information to send.
“Did you want to grab your PADD? In case your uncle calls to tell you the news?” McCoy asked as they began the walk back downstairs.
“No,” Jim said firmly. “He’ll probably be pissed and everyone doesn’t need to hear him yell at me.”
McCoy nodded sympathetically. “I hope Father gets him to say yes. It’ll be fun to have you visit.”
Breakfast was a very casual affair the next morning in the large dining hall with the boys and the girls, since everyone had different flight times off planet, or parents picking them up.
Jim’s glowing face when he walked in told them all they needed to know about a call from Frank.
Scotty clapped him on the shoulder.
“We’re gonna have so much fun.”
“Father is coming around 9, be ready then Jim, ok,” McCoy told him.
Jim nodded enthusiastically. McCoy saw Scotty frown slightly.
“We leave at 8:30, with the other students heading for Earth,” Scotty said quietly to him.
“Well, eat up and we’ll get more time together first,” McCoy said.
“Ooo,” Jim leered at them.
“Shut up laddie,” Scotty laughed. “Some of us aren’t so lucky as to get to spend the entire break with our love.”
McCoy enjoyed the blush that crossed Jim’s face and the matching one on Spock’s face. He wondered if Spock had told Jim about T’Pring, then decided it wasn’t any of his business.
Keenser came up to the table then and touched Scotty’s shoulder. Scotty turned at the touch.
“Are you off then lad?” Scotty asked.
Keenser nodded. Scotty reached over and hugged the Roylan.
“Have a good summer.”
“You too,” Keenser said. He waved a hand at the rest of them. “Bye.”
Keenser walked away again to a chorus of farewells.
Christine walked over as McCoy and Scotty were standing to leave.
“My parents will be here in a couple minutes,” she said. “I had to come say bye first.”
McCoy pushed in his chair and then wrapped Christine in a hug. Christine returned it and kissed him on the cheek. She released him and gave Scotty the same hug and kiss.
“Write to me or call, ok?” she said. “I don’t want to get all my news from the tabloids.”
McCoy chuckled. “We will.”
“Good.”
“Hey,” Jim called from the table, “don’t I get a kiss too?”
Christine rolled her eyes at him, but did move around to go hug Jim.
“Have a good summer ok Jim?” Christine said. They could all hear her concern.
Jim grinned at her. “I will,” he said brightly. “I’m not going home.”
“What?”
“He’s coming with us,” Scotty answered.
They saw the surprise on Christine’s face.
“He’s coming with me for half the summer and then to Scotty’s the other half,” McCoy told her.
“That’s great! Have fun!” Christine squeezed Jim’s shoulder.
“Now you really have to keep me updated on everything,” she said to McCoy.
He laughed again and pulled her for another hug as she came back around the table.
“You have fun with him too,” he whispered in her ear about her boyfriend.
He saw the brief color on her cheeks as she waved goodbye to them.
Part 180
It was the day of departure. But Scotty wanted to make the most of the last hours he could spend with Leonard.
So after breakfast they headed straight to the gardens to have some privacy. Scotty felt his heart flutter when he placed his hand in his pocket. He had a surprise for his boyfriend. And he really hoped that Leonard would like it.
They sat down on a bench not too far from the school building and looked up at the bright sky. No clouds. Just the sun shining on their faces.
Scotty closed his eyes and smiled, reached for Leonard's hand. When he found it, he squeezed it gently.
"I... I've got something for ye."
He looked at his love who gave him a surprised 'Oh'.
Scotty shoved his hand back into the pocket and pulled out two rings.
Leonard stared at them, blinking a few times and Scott felt his cheeks blushing.
"I... I hope it's not too personal. I've made them myself."
Scotty placed one in Leonard's palm and kept the other.
"There is the insignia of a sun on that one. And a moon on mine."
Leonard nodded, examining the sun more closely.
"If ye tap the insignia lightly... mine will blink. And if I tap mine, it's the same with yers."
Scotty smiled shyly.
"So whenever we miss each other... we just have to send us a light."
Leonard didn't say anything at first, then he wrapped his arm around Scotty and pulled him close.
"This is perfect. Thank you."
They kissed before they put the rings onto their fingers.
A sign of their love. Something to cross the distance separating them.
A few hours later they were standing in front of the school. Scotty stood close to Leonard while Robbie said goodbye to Hikaru and Pavel who's parents would pick them up.
"So... this is it, huh?"
Scotty felt the lump in his throat but he quickly swallowed it down. He wouldn't cry in front of everyone.
It was getting harder when Leonard wrapped his arms around him and hugged him tightly.
"Two weeks. A call everyday. We can do this."
Leonard's hand ran through his hair.
"Aye... we can."
"Everyone, get inside!" The bus driver called.
Scotty didn't want to let go. He just wanted to stay in Leonard's arms forever.
"Come on..." A hand brushed his arm and Scotty let go of Leonard to see his brother next to him.
He was smiling sympathetically. And Scotty gave him a nod before he looked at Leonard one last time.
"I love ye."
"I love you too."
He slowly got into the bus and looked out of the window.
Two weeks. They could do this.

The Fantasticks
Simple Fun.

The Bergen County Players version of the longest running musical is as simple as the one that I saw back in the late 80's at The Sullivan Street Playhouse in The West Village. With limited staging, Director Ray Yucis is able to move his talented cast about the stage with ease.
Over the years I have personally enjoyed the choice of shows that The Players put forth. The rendition of "Spamelot" was as good a performance that I have seen (I enjoyed it more than my recent visit to the Broadway production!). Much of the cast and crew at this wonderful theatre are as good if not better than most off off Broadway shows of recent. In last nights performance of " The Fantasticks" the audience is treated to very good singing and acting.
The musical is as common as most... boy meets girl, boy loses girl, then boy gets the girl back. Why this particular musical ran for so long is that it's a playful, simple show; one in which any audience age can enjoy. The songs are nothing special in there lyrics, however, they catch the audiences ear. As playful as the acting is, the songs add to the spoof that is this musical. As silly as the plot is, the nature of it is wholesome and fun.
The premise of the story is that the two fathers, Hucklebee (Steve Bell) and Bellamy, the girls father (Peter Downing) scheme a plan to pretend that they hate each other; they even build a wall between one another. In the hopes that the 20 year old boy, Matt (Damon Quattrocchi) will fall in love with the 16 year old Luisa (Grace Marie Callahan). Both Matt and Luisa are young and naive; but their love shines through. Conflicted by their parents, they see each other in the night time where no one can see them.
A plan to have the girl kidnapped by El Gallo (Larry Brustofski) who actually doubles as the narrator is more of a philosopher than a bandit. His saddle rash has put him in retirement as a true bandit, he now postulates about life and love. With the help of two buffoonish characters, Mortimer (Adam Mahonchak) and Henry, The Old Actor (Bob Russell), El Gallo is able to pull off the ruse. All seems to be fine at the end of the first act.
Act two is when it all goes array; the over confident Matt is set straight. Angry, he runs off into the real world. Luisa is upset and turns to El Gallo for advise. The two fathers are now feuding for real this time. All seems lost until it isn't. Even in dark times the lyrics and book by Tom Jones and the music by Harvey Schmidt lock this loose and fun show in tight which makes the two hours plus go quickly.
Even though it is simple, Michael Smith's set design keeps the show interesting. The costumes too are first rate. Thomas Carey Gsell, Olga Garey had very insightful and creative ideas in the dress of the actors. The warm glam lighting of Allan Seward and Jim Lupfer's sound design too works and blends well in this production.
What also works and makes this show memorable is that Callahan and Quattrocchi work and blend so nicely; as do Bell and Downing as the fathers. The four actors make this Fantasticks worth seeing. Ray Yucis keeps these four locked in and a lot of the good things that happen between all the actors is attributed to his great direction.

Seven Year Disappear.
"The Seven Year Disappear" is a non linear, performance art play that deals with a mother, Miriam (Cynthia Nixon) and her son, business partner (Taylor Trensch). Nixon is a famous artist who has left her son Naphtali for seven years only to return leaving him confused. The illusion of Bi-Polar disorder surfaces as both mother and son struggle with mental disorders and substance abuse. Writer Jordan Seavey has created a body of work in which the audience decides what the play is really about... the journey here is the thing; and quite a journey it is!

"Great." George pounded his fist on the kitchen table. "There is no way I can get evidence from Sarah Miller anymore. No way! I was 99% sure she was innocent but, even if she wasn't, she'll never go to jail now. She's dead and gone."

Fireforged
My dragon is the woman with black ringlet curls, freckles tracing constellations over her warm skin. She laughs uninhibitedly at the Minions from Despicable Me, enough that you can’t keep yourself from laughing with her, and is never far from a cup of coffee. If you’re ever worried, her top three answers are to pray, drink water, and just don’t worry. Things are going to turn out the way they’re going to turn out, and they will be okay.

Thought I'd give it a try. In response to this post from @piratecaptainscaptainpirates
Ended up ranking a bunch of first and last and shovelling the rest in the middle without particular consideration for their placement. That middle section is in no way set in stone.
The Innkeeper, s2e03. My go to comfort episode. And knowing the amount of work and love put into its final minutes makes me ecstatic about it. Had it on a loop in the background at some point.
The Pilot, s1e01. I just love it. Meeting everyone for the first time, Stede is adorable, he has glasses (which are the loml actually and the only reason I keep watching this stupid show is my hope to see them again), and dressing up as a bunch of fancy boys, and the British arseholes, officer Hornberry, and Nigel, an all. Just the right amount of quirkiness for my taste. It is incredible. I'd probably have put it in the first place if it weren't occupied already.
Act of Grace, s1e09. Love from the start to the end. The whole interrogation sequence, the Crew, all of them and every one in particular, the great punch, Chauncey, Hornberry, this man is a fearsome pirate, soft desperate touches, the king George himself overthinking things as usual, boys' outfits in the academy (I see a person in those breeches, shirt, socks and shoes - I offer them my hand in marriage. It's a reflex), the kiss and soft touches again, Ed's delight and the most baby Stede's face. And the heartbreak.
This is Happening, s1e07. I love the way the world expands and deepens and breathes there. I love Jim's storyline. Olu shines. The Swede. Nana is bonkers and horrible and toxic and great and "my only family", which will be paralleled later to a certain other toxic character. And Blackbeard's Bar&Grill&Other Delicacies&Delights&Fishing Equipment and Snake Snacks. And Lucius' intervention and speech which I'm unable to repeat at a fraction of the same speed for the life of me.
Fun and Games, s2e04. I can't believe myself now. On the first watch when Stede approached Ed under the blanket I was, to put it mildly, very cautious about the perspective of them actually talking it through on screen. Because talking it through on screen is a very tricky business when the viewer knows more than the characters. I can imagine a thousand ways of making it tedious and cringey to watch. But it turned out so very lovely. Unbelievably lovely. You wrote me a lovely talk-it-through!
We Gull Way Back, s1e08. Calico Jack is nauseating. But he had to be like that. Get off my ship. Now. Morning, Captain. No, it isn't. The telescope and the black (or rather red) eye. The Chain ❤️
The Best Revenge is Dressing Well, s1e05. I love their fancy outfits with a wig and flowers and little bows. And the pyramid scheme. And Stede's delight in causing havoc. And the moonlit chickening out.
Red Flags, s2e02. It is heartbreaking. And real. And heartbreaking. You have hope, it's cute. And Ed is insane[ly beautiful]. And heartbreaking.
Impossible Birds, s2e01. Because it feels so fucking real. And I'm afraid your life is better without me. And brings me flashbacks of me crashing wall tiles in a sliiiiiiightly similar situation. Thank goodness I never had a gun.
The Art of Fuckery, s1e06. It was a wonderful fuckery. Stede's stabbing face 😅 I'm a witch and this is my cat. Miao. And I'm your friend. And did I do it right?
The Gentleman Pirate, s1e03. The Cream of the Caribbean and the Genital Pirate. You've heard of me? Also blood does look good on all white garments as internet warriors should know.
A Damned Man, s1e02. Oh, please move! I probably have children, Bonnet. They will never see papa again! I'm a dirty filthy murderer! Take me away! Don't you trifle! He does have the eyes of a madman. Sorry, you do.
Mermen, s2e08. It's long overdue to put it somewhere. Let it be here. Because it was good and it made me feel good. And it finally stopped that torture, which had been the fandom experience up to this point with constant "Aha, eat your shit, Izzy-haters! We always knew he was a blameless little angel! And we are getting all so validated!" And turned it into a different one.
Discomfort in a Married State, s1e04. I don't know why it's so low. It is wonderful all the way through. I love it.
Wherever You Go, There You Are, s1e10. I love Mary. And Evelyn. Stede is painful to watch. But I loved the "unhand me or bleed" thing. Yes, baby, you have it in you, together with all the soft and frilly things. I'm here for it. Just choose your subject wisely next time and maybe don't drink so much. Ed is heartbreaking. Cutting the toe was frankly cathartic. Loved it (as a vindictive dick I am at heart) and hated it (for Ed's sake) simultaneously. And it ends on a hopeful note.
Man on Fire, s2e07. It is a good episode I suppose. Lots of things happening. Lots to love. But it pains me. And the characters and their doings cringe me at places. And I'm not strong enough for it.
The Curse of the Seafaring Life, s2e05. Oh, hello, it's me, and I'm unpredictable sometimes. I love my boy in his suit. And the revisiting of the moonlight scene, and the thumbs war, and "you won". But the episode as a whole felt like a filler and a waste of opportunity and time in a timewise constricted season.
Calipso's Birthday, s2e06. It feels like a cushion after you pull it out of a washing machine - all the stuffing is a lumpy wet mess here and there, the rest is just a sad empty sack. Also "poison into positivity" repeated again and again in a clanky way like a ball bearing in a spray paint can. It was driving me crazy and throwing me out of the story and into a filming set, where actors are failing to find a way to say a particular line from the script and instead of dropping it or replacing it with something more organic, power through, with, well, that exact clanking result. I loved Ned Low though, he was cute. And the kiss and the curtain thing were hot as the fucking, which followed.

Bill Evans biography
Bill Evans ( Plainfield , August 16 , 1929 - Fort Lee , September 15 , 1980, born William John Evans , was an American jazz pianist and composer. Bill Evans was born in New Jersey to Harry L. Evans, born in Wales and Mary Saroka Evans, born in Rusyne, both lovers of music. They make him study piano and, as a second instrument, violin (which he will give up after two years) and then flute . When he was a teenager he began to be interested in jazz , and in particular by Bud Powell, Nat King Cole , George Shearing and Lennie Tristano; he plays in orchestras as a local amateur . Bill Evans continued his musical studies at Southern Louisiana College, graduating in 1950. After a brief stint in clarinetist Herbie Fields' orchestra, he spent three years in the Army as a flautist , stationed at Fort Sheridan. It will preserve for a long time a bitter memory of these years. Demobilized in 1954, he began playing and recording with New York's minor orchestras (the best known being the "variety" orchestra led by Jerry Wald), while taking composition classes at the Mannes School of Music. First recordings In 1955, he was noticed by the composer and theoretician of the "lydian concept" George Russell who invited him to record the album The Jazz Workshop with his "jazz smalltet" (1956) and then the title All about Rosie on the collective album Brandeis Jazz Festival (1957). Russell and Evans would later reunite for other albums: New York, NY (1959), Jazz in the Space Age (1960), Living Time (1972). In September 1956, Bill Evans recorded under his own name, for the Riverside label (with producer Orrin Keepnews), the trio New Jazz Conceptions with Teddy Kotick on double bass and Paul Motian on drums. If Bill Evans had not yet found the interaction that will characterize his approach to the jazz trio, he already demonstrates his innovative harmonizing technique on this album. After this album and his work with Russell made him known, Bill Evans became an in-demand studio musician and many musicians called on his services, including Tony Scott, Don Elliott, Eddie Costa, Jimmy Knepper, Helen Merrill, Sahib Shihab and Charles Mingus . Alongside John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley ' regular sextet, Between February and November 1958, he was part of Miles Davis . In 1959, the trumpeter called him back for the recording of the Kind of Blue album . Miles Davis has always recognized the importance of Evans' contribution to this emblematic record of modal jazz . After this interlude with Miles Davis , Bill Evans resumed an intense career as a sideman - which did not stop until 1963, the date of his contract with Verve - recording, among others, with Cannonball Adderley , Michel Legrand , Art Farmer, Chet Baker , Lee Konitz , John Lewis, Oliver Nelson, Kai Winding , JJ Johnson and Bob Brookmeyer. At the same time, although he did not have a regular trio, he recorded records with this formula under his own name: Everybody digs Bill Evans (1958) and On Green Dolphin Street (1958 – unreleased at the time). 1960s In 1959, he formed a regular trio with bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian. The three partners, breaking with the tradition in which the double bass player and the drummer were limited to an accompanying role, dedicate themselves to an authentic "three-way improvisation". It is this "interaction" – this constant synergy between the three musicians – that makes this trio specific and modern. The three recorded four albums: Portrait in Jazz (1959), Explorations (1961) and especially two legendary albums from the same session at the Village Vanguard in New York: Waltz for Debby and Sunday at the Village Vanguard. Scott LaFaro died in a car accident just ten days after recording these records. Deeply affected by the death of LaFaro, Bill Evans, although he continues his career as an accompanist (albums as an accompanist for Mark Murphy , Herbie Mann, Tadd Dameron , Benny Golson …), does not record anything as a trio during almost a year Under his name, he recorded, in duo with Jim Hall, the album Undercurrent . It wasn't until May 1962 that he found himself in the studio as a trio, this time with Chuck Israels on double bass and Paul Motian on drums. What comes out of these sessions are the albums How My Heart Sings! and Moon Beams . In late 1962 - early 1963, he recorded his last albums for the Riverside label: Interplay (as a quintet with Freddie Hubbard and Jim Hall), Loose Blues (as a quintet with Zoot Sims and Jim Hall, unreleased at the time ), At Shelly's Manne-Hole (as a trio with Chuck Israels and Larry Bunker), and 13 solo tracks ( The Solo Sessions: Volume 1 & 2 - unedited at the time). Breaking album time with his usual trio, he recorded in 1962 for Verve trio album , while still under contract with Riverside, the Empathy of which Shelly Manne was co-leader. Evans signs with Verve-MGM. For Verve , Bill Evans will continue to record with his usual trios, but Creed Taylor, then producer of the label, will push him to diversify his production: albums with other stars of the brand ( Stan Getz , Gary McFarland…), solo, re-recording, with symphony orchestra… Between 1962 and 1969, the personnel of Evans' "regular" trio was reworked quite frequently. Between 1962 and 1965, Chuck Israels was occasionally replaced on double bass by Gary Peacock ( Trio '64 ) and veteran Teddy Kotick. From 1966 and for 11 years, Eddie Gómez will occupy the position of double bass player. The successive drummers were Larry Bunker ( Live ( 1964 ), Trio '65 ), Arnold Wise ( Bill Evans at Town Hall , 1966), Philly Joe Jones ( California, Here I Come , 1967), Jack DeJohnette ( Bill Evans at Montreux Jazz ). Festival , 1968) and, more briefly, Joe Hunt and John Dentz. In 1969, drummer Marty Morell joined the trio, remaining until 1975. During this period, on European tours, Evans sometimes travels without his usual accompanists and then turns to "local" musicians: Palle Danielsson, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Rune Carlsson (1965), Alex Riel (1966)… During his Verve period , Evans recorded with different formulas than his "usual trio". He recorded Alone (1968) . He re-recorded Conversations with Myself (1963), then Further Conversations with Myself (1967). With string orchestra (conducted by Claus Ogerman) and trio, Bill Evans trio with symphony orchestra (1965). With other musicians, Gary McFarland (1962), Stan Getz (1964), Monica Zetterlund ( Waltz for Debby , 1964), Jim Hall ( Intermodulation , 1966), Shelly Manne ( A Simple Matter of Conviction - 1966), Jeremy Steig ( What's New , 1969). Here ends the "Verve Period", with the album From Left to Right (1970), a recording on the border between light music and jazz, where Bill Evans, accompanied by a string orchestra, uses the electric piano for the first time " Fender Rhodes ". It should be noted that Evans' last albums for Verve are no longer produced by Creed Taylor but by Helen Keane (Evans' artistic agent since 1962). From the end of the contract with Verve , it is Helen Keane who will act as "coach" of the pianist's career. It will be the producer of the records that Evans will record for Columbia , CTI Records, Fantasy and Warner Bros. 1970s Between 1969 and 1975, Bill Evans performed mainly with Eddie Gómez and Marty Morell. This trio recorded many albums: among others, Jazzhouse , You're Gonna Hear From Me (1969), Montreux II (1970), The Bill Evans Album (1971), The Tokyo concert , Half Moon Bay (1973), Since We Met , Re: Person I Knew, Blue in green (1974). During this period, Bill Evans participates in two recordings quite far removed from his usual productions: Living Time , an experimental composition for piano and large ensemble by George Russell (1972) and Symbiosis (1974), a concerto for piano and orchestra by "Third stream music" composed by Claus Ogerman. He also recorded at this time two duet albums with Eddie Gómez ( Intuition - 1974, Montreux III - 1975) and one solo ( Alone (Again) - 1975). Evans also recorded two sessions ( The Tony Bennett: Bill Evans Album - 1975, Together again - 1976) with crooner Tony Bennett . Finally, Evans signs his last record in re-recording, New Conversations (1978). In 1976, Marty Morell was replaced on drums by the understated but subtle Eliot Zigmund. This will remain the last rhythm that will be perfectly integrated into the pianist's universe. The trio thus composed finds a second wind and records I Will Say Goodbye (1977, published in 1980, after the death of the pianist) and the elegiac You Must Believe in Spring (1977, published in 1981). The three men also recorded Crosscurrents (1977) with Lee Konitz and Warne Marsh. Eddie Gómez left Evans in 1978. After trying numerous double bass players (Michael Moore, Michel Donato…), Evans hired the young Marc Johnson. and Larry Schneider was recorded It was around this time that the Affinity quintet album with Toots Thielemans . In 1979, he reunited with Larry Schneider but this time with Tom Harrell , for another quintet album, We will meet again . For a brief period, "veteran" Joe Philly Jones returned to fill in as drummer, before Evans hired another young musician, Joe LaBarbera. There are no studio recordings of this definitive trio. On the other hand, it was recorded a lot in discos or in concerts ( Homecoming , The Paris concert. ed. 1 & 2 , Turn out the stars: the final recordings of Village Vanguard , The Last Waltz , Consecration …). All these recordings were only published after the death of the pianist. The music of this trio is the "swan song" of the pianist. He performed for the penultimate time in August 1980 at the Molde Jazz Festival. On September 15, 1980, at the age of fifty-one, with poorly treated hepatitis , his body exhausted by addiction too long a drug ( heroin in the 60s and 70s, cocaine at the end of his life), Bill Evans died as a result of internal bleeding. Discography Bill Evans' discography is particularly important. In addition to "official" recordings for labels such as Riverside, Verve , CTI, Columbia , Fantasy and Warner Bros. The Tragic History of Cults
Tumblr media
▲ Pictured: Ricky Rodriguez, victim of sexual abuse and adopted son of David Berg, founder of the Children of God or the Family International (not to be confused with the DC-based The Fellowship or The Family)
Originally submitted to WIOTM on January 6, 2017 by “Frank Frivilous”
Watching the Children of God video last night I realized that the young boy whom the Messiah figure, David Berg selected to be his successor was obviously suffering from trauma. Judging from the other accounts, it may be safe to suggest that it included sexual abuse. The young man was extremely resentful and violent and eventually murdered his nanny and took his own life. The behavior he exhibited on the video was hauntingly familiar and could be attributed to a number of other apocalyptic cults. None of them seemed to have ended well. The Waco, Texas incident with the Branch Davidians comes to mind. Similar themes there including the wholesale loss of innocent lives. It’s interesting to note that the popular media is loath to remind the public about these events and in fact, misrepresented themselves when they reported the worst massacre in American history happened at a gay club in Orlando Florida. That dubious distinction actually belongs to the congregation of Jim Jones in Guyana. Whether you believe it was a mass suicide or not doesn’t alter the outcome. The leader compelled his followers to give up their lives for him. Not surprising when you delve into the essential teaching of these people. Obedience. Self sacrifice for the leader. Glorification of the leader. Never, ever, ever question the authority of the leader. Calculated veiled threats of violence toward anyone who questions the leaders authority. Have we seen this behavior exhibited by Hyung Jin Moon lately? He is claiming an inheritance from his father that may not even be represented in his fathers own teachings. Now he is even promoting his own son as a likely successor to his own outrageous claims. Where does it end? Is he also exhorting his followers to stock pile weapons? Is it a good idea to encourage him in these endeavors? I can’t help feeling that the followers have a moral responsibility to reject this nonsense before it goes too far. I think it’s time to sound the alarm and shine a spot light into the dark recesses of ALL the Moon family cults.

Note from this old WIOTM post: “David Berg, founder of the incestuous hippie Christian cult, a self-proclaimed prophet, regretted not having sex with own mother.”
From X-Family.org:
At least seven women, including both his daughters, his daughter-in-law and two of his granddaughters, have publicly alleged that Berg sexually abused them when they were children.
In 1974, Berg's daughter-in-law Sarah Berg (who married Berg's son Paul when she was 15) alleged, in testimony to the New York Attorney General's Charity Frauds Bureau, statements on national television and in a deposition taken by New York attorney Aaron F. Klein, that Berg made sexual advances towards her, exposed himself to her and attempted to have intercourse with her "three or four years before my teens."
Berg's eldest daughter Deborah Davis has written a book in which she accuses her father of sexually molesting both her and her sister when they were children, and attempting to have sex with her as an adult.
Her sister Faith Berg corroborated these claims, but described them in a positive way. Sarah Berg also partially corroborated these claims, noting that: "David, at times, would try to get away with things with his own daughters and he tried it with me when I was a little girl, but I was too young to really know what was going on."
In a child-custody case in the United Kingdom, Berg's granddaughter Merry Berg testified that Berg sexually molested her when she was a young teenager.
Another of Berg's granddaughters, Joyanne Treadwell Berg, spoke on American television about being sexually abused by her grandfather.
Davida Kelley, the daughter of Sara Kelley (nanny for Berg's informally adopted son Ricky Rodriguez), accused Berg of molesting her in a June 2005 Rolling Stone article.
In the same article, a woman identified as Armendria alleged that Berg sexually abused her when she was 13 years old.
Ricky Rodriguez wrote an article on the website MovingOn.org in which he describes Berg's deviant sexual activity involving a number of women and children.

Any of your muses have a favorite Disney movie?
Unlike that music one here one I can go into more! I'm mostly gonna focus on my tmnt muses and cause I saw my friend got this too! Imma do Richard as well uwu. Since either wreit a few versions I decided I'd give them each a movie uwu
Rapheal 2003
Aladdin: Raph loves Aladdin he likes the story of this street rat proving himself he loved the fights in it mostly when Jafar turned into a giant snake. And Aladdin was shown to be accept as he was at the end. Let's also just say he got the bi awakening between Jasmine and Aladdin.
Tranza: Again, action he likes the fights. The gorillas and such and well the whole acceptance of Tranzan among the humans and gorillas?
Raph 2012
Treasure Planet: It's a sifi action pack film with pirates! Raph kind of related to the charater Jim in the flim as well and he likes the father son relationship Jim forms in the movie. It's one of few films he watches that isn't an action or horror film.
Praites of the Caribbean: not much reason just more praise adventures uwu
Rise Raph
Beauty and the Beast: because well him and Yvoone fit it and I like referencing it for them uwu
Hercules: he wanna be like Hercules! Big strong and helps everyone also later when he meets yvoone she kind of looks like Meg soo uwu
Mikey 2003
Brother Bear: Mikeys pretty spiritual and intune with that naturally so a movie focused on it is up his ally not to mention he loves thst the baby bear got a big brother to look out for them and that despite the fall out between the human brothers everything turned out fine
Black Cauldron: mostly cause this film is a bit obscure and dark and that's up his alley.
Mikey 2012
Toy Story: deff that kid who thought his toys had lives and kind of why he so openly nice and friendly to inanimate objects even
Soul: again mikeys always been a bit more spiritual compared to his bros so a movie touching on life and learning to turly live it? Yeah he's all for that message
Rise Mikey
Peter pan: young forever a d living free that all mikey. He is someone very about living in the moment and feels Peter pan jsut kind of enforced that sure Peter younger forever but the darling kids aren't
Onward: two brothers going on an adventure to see thier dad one more time only to give up the chance for the older brother to have that moment? Mikey is very touched by someone who would put his big brother first
Donnie
Starwars: okay this might be a cheat and I almost gave it to 03 mikey but I think he's mkre a terky anyway and by rise time-line starwars is owned by Disney xD
High school musical: You know why this boy is a theater kid waiting for his chance to shine pluuuuus he kind of gets the struggle of the leads. Claims it just the theatrical stuff
Usagi 2003
Mulan: I can see Usagi e joking movie night when he visits and he took a liking to Mulan mostly cause it made him think of Leo uwu. He also loves the message behind it honor to one's heart. Usagi can admire that message a lot for someone who lives and will die fir the same reason
Richard
Tangled: because yeahhh he relates far to hard. He felt like he was trapped and locked away by his parents forced to live a life he had no say in till finally escaping the tower. He'd soon die then admit it as well but far as he is concerned? Bailey is his Flynn. This smooth talking guy who manged to get him to break out from all he knew. And well Bailey became Richards new dream much like Rapunzel and Flynn did for each other in the film.

Start of my Cw bit.
Coming up with bars,
Detect clues like Mar's wit.
Ok I'll stop the sermon they hungry get to serving

May be poverty stricken, but my spirit rich.
I may not be a woman, but I'm a charmed one witch.
I may not be a Winchester ,but I'm a hunter bitch.
I'm saying I'm supernatural and I can flip it like a switch.
Cutting off my emotions when feeling too heavy.
turning like Stefan going ripper, hold that neck steady.
Draining every ounce of blood, are you dead already?
Dancing round in this red crimson is bloody merry.
Yeah,
Cry out for someone to save you, but Superman ain't around. It's a smallville.
He failed this city and its people as well.
Maybe call the Arrow. or that other hero.
Or maybe black lighting a canceled zero.
Stopped,
4 seasons short but I survived.
Runnin outta crisis, the fastest man alive.
That speed streak making girls weak.
in a flash running pass not even at my peak.
look into my eyes,
Compelling you to listen to me when I speak.
I'm an original with legacies. my lifes unique.
Over thousands of years old, a legend of tomorrow.
Traveled across the world in this time machine I borrowed.

Tell all your Girlfriends down at Riverdale.
You'll catch me at Pop's been hanging there a lot.
Anyone that knows me knows that's the spot.
Woo,

Yet I'm killing these punch lines and references all the same.
Boom,
Make me the villain with my origin in gotham.

Along with another 100 bodies ,I got them.
Stepping up to me will always give you the bloodiest outcome.
Yo,
I'm the alpha ,dom, but if you wanna be on top
That's supergirl.
Ride on top, then top me ,Jane ain't no virgin girl.
She loves giving brains. She's my-zombie.
She swallows it fast , changing her perso-nality.
Breaking necks brutality, killing causally, perpetrator of these fatalities. is the era of my Dynasty.
My Reign of destruction can't be compared.
My riches go beyond wealth and billionaires.
Still killing it in my suit and tie like Chuck Bass.
Only fresh and fit girls illuminate me, oh dat ass.
She's the top model, the kind you can't duplicate.
you shining the brightest baby, my star girl always up to the plate, up to Bat-woman.
You are a wonder woman , good thing I'm a player.
Can't settle on one girl in the world even Buffy the slayer.
Come here Sabrina let me work that magic on you.
Ditch that boy Harvey, your aunties here too.
Puting y'all to bed, make you the scream queens.
Girls let's make this a thing, a fucking routine.
Getting nothing but sex in this city.
Any girls are welcome as long as they're pretty.
Even when they are little liars.
just those lips are required.

i had fun with this one! enjoy :)
You hear the yelling and shouting before you’re even at the front step to the cabin. Looking down at Vice, you mutter, “Uh oh, boy, what are we walking into now?” Vice lets out a little bark and tilts his head, tongue lolling out of his mouth. You sigh and nod, “Agreed. Definitely something stupid. Well, come on then.” You jog up the front steps, holding loosely onto the leash so Vice trots behind you at his own pace.
The shouting gets louder when you open the front door and it’s clear that both Hopper and El are equally angry. Vice looks up at you with wide eyes and you hurriedly unclip his leash - he darts off, making a beeline for El’s bedroom. He’s probably going to hide under the bed and you’ll have to drag him out, dust bunnies and all, when the fight is over. Coward. Jim and El are standing two or three feet apart, faces red with anger, fists clenched at their sides, and voices so loud the windowpanes are rattling. Although the rattling windowpanes could be a result of El’s anger controlling her powers - either way, it’s loud. “Hey!” you call out a couple of times, trying to get their attention, but they’re both so absorbed in the shouting, they don’t notice you. You sigh and raise your hand to your mouth, letting loose a sharp, ear-piercing whistle. The shouting stops and both Hopper and El swivel their heads to face you. There’s matching looks of annoyance on their faces and it would almost make you laugh if you weren’t annoyed by the shouting. “What the hell’s going on here?” you ask, crossing your arms over your chest. You jut your chin in the direction of El’s room, “Poor Vice is hiding under the bed, you freaked him out so much!” El’s face softens, “Oh no! Poor Vice! I don’t want him freaked out.” “Cares more about freaking out the damn dog than her own dad,” Hopper scoffs under his breath, causing El to turn to him, glaring and opening her mouth to start yelling again. You hold up a hand - the universal sign for stop - and say, “Oh no, no more yelling. You two are going to - calmly - explain what’s going on here.” Hopper looks about ready to explode - his face is red, his forehead is creased in anger, and he keeps clenching his hands into and out of fists. El looks marginally more calm, but you know that sometimes her anger is deceptive, hidden beneath still waters. Sighing again, you cross your arms and nod towards El, “Go ahead,” you tell her, before they can start shouting over each other. As it is, Hopper sputters angrily, barely able to form sentences as he protests the indignity of being told to wait. You ignore him. “Dad is being unreasonable!” El says, tone verging on a whine. You shoot her a look and she pouts. “Unreasonable? Fine, if I’m unreasonable, then you’re grounded for two months and no TV for three!” Hopper interjects angrily. “How am I supposed to see my friends?!” El shrieks back, her eyes flashing angrily. Hopper scoffs, “You’re not! That’s the point!” They’re shouting at each other again and you wonder how you lost control so quickly. You’re still not sure what happened, but then your gaze lands on a crumpled magazine discarded on the floor by Hopper’s feet. You skirt behind him and kick it to the side a bit before bending down and picking it up. Recognition dawns on your face as you take note of the cover. Oh. Some of the pieces are falling into place now. The bright colours and lurid headlines of last month’s Cosmo shine up at you and you wince as Hopper’s shouting grows louder. Sex tips for mutual pleasure are advertised in bold red letters and while you make a mental note to flip back to that article, you can also understand why Hopper’s freaking out so badly. Still, the shouting and punishing is a little over the top. “Hey,” you say loudly, reaching out and grabbing Hopper’s forearm and distracting him, “go take Vice for a walk and cool off.” “What?” Hopper stops yelling and looks at you, confusion clear in the scrunch of his eyebrows. “No. I’m not - she’s in trouble and I’m not coolin’ off.” “Jim,” you say his name quietly, but firmly. “This is a conversation I can handle. Please go calm down before you say something you regret.” His forearm is tense under your hand and his jaw works silently - he clearly wants to continue arguing with both you and El, but you look into his eyes and raise an eyebrow, communicating silently. He frowns deeply, but huffs an angry sigh. “Fine. Don’t think you’re off the hook ‘cause Y/n took over,” he points at El. “Don’t care what she tells ya, you’re still grounded for two weeks.” El opens her mouth to protest, but your hand lands on her shoulder and you cut her off with a silent look. “Go on, poor dog’s terrified,” you tell Hopper and watch silently as he stomps into El’s room and retrieves Vice from under the bed. He emerges a minute later with the dust-covered spaniel tucked under his arm. “An hour okay?” he asks you tightly. You nod and he replies with a terse nod of his own before snatching Vice’s leash off the hook by the front door and stepping out onto the porch. He lets the door slam shut behind him and you wait a minute for his heavy footsteps to fade away before turning to El. “Okay,” you sigh, “lets get comfortable, hon.” “He is being mean!” El pouts, stamping her foot on the floor. You ignore her outburst and traipse into the kitchen, intent on finding a snack to make the conversation easier. El, seeing that you’re not going to play into her mini-tantrum, pouts further and follows you into the kitchen. “He’s concerned,” you say simply, setting a bag of chocolate chip cookies onto the counter. You drop the crumpled Cosmo to the table next and tap lightly on the cover with an index finger. “Because of this.” “The magazine?” El’s face crinkles up in an adorable display of confusion. “Mhm,” you nod, “see, the magazine is for adults, about, um, well it’s about adult things.” “Like good screaming?” El asks, biting casually into a cookie. Now it’s your turn to scrunch your face up in confusion. “Huh?” you ask, frowning at the teen. “Good screams?” “Yeah,” El says, leaning forward curiously. “I heard you and my dad and I asked Max and she said that sometimes bad screams and good screams sound the same and she gave me her mom’s magazine to explain it.” El’s words sink in and your face flushes a bright red. “Oh my god,” you mutter to yourself, horrified. “I started to look, but dad saw and freaked out,” she continues, a dark look coming over her face when she mentions Hopper. “That was bad screaming.” “Oh,” you mutter weakly. This was so not the direction you thought the conversation was going to go. “Y/n, what’s good screaming?” El asks, biting into a second cookie. You scrub your hand over your face - a gesture picked up from Hopper - and sigh. “Um, so basically, when two adults, two consenting adults -“ El’s nose wrinkles at the unfamiliar word. “What’s consenting?” “It means you agree to do something,” you say quickly, grateful for a question you can actually answer. El nods and continues to look at you expectantly. Okay, sex talk. That’s a thing that’s happening today, clearly. ———— “That was worse than fighting in ‘Nam,” Jim grumbles as you get ready for bed later. After you had bumbled through a very awkward talk with El, Jim had come back home much calmer. Until you explained what had caused El to seek out the Cosmo in the first place. If it hadn’t been so horrifying and embarrassing, the look on Hopper’s face would’ve been hysterical. He’d only looked even more miserable after you had insisted that they both go back and talk to El again - including an apology from Hopper - just to make sure she understood what was happening. It had been miserable and awkward and you were sure that all three of you were going to have a difficult time looking the others in the eye for a while. And now you were getting ready for bed - only sleeping for a long time, or at least a long time while El was in the house - and Hopper was complaining. “You’re such an ass, Jim,” you shake your head and roll your eyes. “That was not worse than fighting in Vietnam.” “How you you know?” Jim retorts, shooting you a stink eye. “Were you there?” You roll your eyes at him and snark back, “Obviously not, I’m not ancient.” “Ooh,” Hopper narrows his eyes at you playfully, “you’re just askin’ for it, aren’t ya?” He gives you a wolfish grin and climbs on top of you, pinning you to the mattress with his bulk. You giggle and hook your legs around his waist, heels digging into his ass. “C’mon, Hop,” you grin, “do I have to spell it out for you?” His eyes are dark and his grin is feral when he dips his head to suck a nearly painful hickey just above your breast. You toss you head back and gasp loudly. His beard scratches your skin and you know your skin is going to be red and chafed tomorrow. But then he sucks a nipple into his mouth, rolling it with his tongue, and you forget all about the possibility of sore skin. “Jim, oh my god,” you mumble breathlessly, grasping at his shoulders when one of his hands trails down your side and slides under your panties. His thumb presses against your clit and you let out a loud moan. Hopper jolts a little at the sound and suddenly looks around uncomfortably. His hand moves away and you lift your head, a little dizzy. “What? Where’d your hand go?” you mutter, blinking lazily. “Y’think the kid can hear us?” he asks quietly, looking concerned. “Oh,” you frown, “I, uh, hadn’t thought about - I guess she - because of the screams - yeah.” You fumble awkwardly for words, the entirety of the night’s earlier events slipping your mind. “Maybe we should...pause for a bit,” you suggest, trying desperately to ignore the throbbing between your legs. “Yeah,” Hopper agrees unenthusiastically. He runs his hand over his face and rolls back over to lay on his back. His erection tents his boxers and you glance down at him. Tilting your chin at him, you bite your lower lip and say, “Maybe you should hit the shower and take care of that?” “Yeah,” Hopper drawls, and then he gets a look in his eye, “she probably can’t hear us over the water running, right?” A slow smile spreads across your face when you realize what Hopper’s suggesting. “Absolutely not,” you reply, already hopping out of bed and pulling your shirt over your head. The fabric drops to the floor and you giggle when Hopper’s hands wrap around your waist. He presses a kiss against your shoulder blade. “Think we can stick to shower sex until she goes to college?” you ask breathlessly. “Gonna be a hell of a water bill,” Hopper deadpans. “But,” you counter, dragging him into the bathroom, “it’ll be worth it if we never have to hear about good screams and bad screams again.”

The sun was shining as you walked toward Jam & Roller, a bag of homemade cookies in your hand. As you entered the building, you heard live music. Perfect timing, you thought. The Roller Band is practicing. You walked over to the stage and sat down at one of the tables, listening as the band played “Un Destino.” When the song finished, you stood up and clapped loudly for them.
“You guys sound amazing, as usual,” you said. The boys grinned, put their instruments away, and walked over to your table.
“What are you doing here so early? Don’t you have to get to school?” Nico asked.
You held out the bag of cookies. “I baked these last night and I thought you guys might want some.”
“Really?” Pedro asked excitedly.
You nodded and opened the bag, holding it out to them. They all reached out at the same time, jostling each other to get a cookie, and you laughed. “Relax guys, there’s enough for everyone.”
Simón was the first to grab one, and you hoped he would like it. As soon as he took a bite, his eyes lit up and he grinned. “These are amazing!” he exclaimed, wiping a crumb from his mouth. “You need to give us the recipe!”
You smiled, feeling like you could jump for joy. “What if I show you guys how to bake them instead?” you suggest. You were friends with all three of the boys but, truth be told, you had a crush on Simón and would love to spend more time with him.
“That’s a great idea!” Simón said. “Maybe you could come over to our apartment tonight?” He looked to Nico and Pedro for confirmation.
Nico gave him a knowing grin. “I’m going out with Jim tonight, remember?”
Simón frowned slightly. “I didn’t know that.”
“And Tamara asked me to stay late to help plan for the next Open,” Pedro jumped in. “But I don’t see why you two can’t still get together tonight and make some.”
“Yeah, then we’ll have nice freshly baked cookies to arrive home to,” Nico said. He kept glancing at Pedro, and they both looked like they were holding back laughter.
“Well, sure, if that’s okay with you,” Simón asked you, searching your face for your reaction.
A flurry of butterflies erupted in your stomach. “Yeah, that’d be great. Then you can teach Pedro and Nico some other time,” you said.
“Cool,” Simón said, smiling. “If you’re coming back to the Roller after school, we could head over to my place at 6?”
“Sounds like a plan,” you said. “And speaking of school, I really have to get going or I’ll be late. See you guys later!” You waved to them and rushed out of the Roller. A ginormous grin broke out on your face as you ran to school.

As soon as the door to Jam & Roller closed behind you, Nico and Pedro slapped Simón on the shoulder and jumped around hollering.
Simón pushed their hands away and laughed. “What was that all about?”
Nico grinned at him. “We just set you up on a date with Y/N.”
Simón’s eyes widened. “You liars!” He pointed at Nico. “You don’t really have a date with Jim. And you”—he turned to Pedro—“You weren’t asked to stay late.” He ran his hands through his hair. “I can’t believe you set me up like that.”
“You do like Y/N, don’t you?” Pedro asked.
Simón looked at the floor and rubbed the back of his neck, blushing lightly. “Well…”
Nico laughed, patting him on the shoulder. “Then you should be thanking us.”
A smile crept onto Simón’s face. “I’ll thank you after, if it goes well.”

You entered Blake South College, slightly disheveled from running. Luna and Nina, your best friends, came over to greet you.
“You certainly got here in a rush,” Nina noted, reaching over and smoothing down your wild hair.
“I was just dropping off some cookies to the Roller Band,” you explained, holding up the bag in your hand. “Do you want some?” They both nodded, and the three of you all took one.
“These are delicious!” Luna exclaimed.
You smiled and glanced at the ground. “I know, Simón told me so.”
Nina’s eyebrows shot up and she grinned slyly. “Oh really?”
“What’s up with you and him?” Luna asked, nudging you with her elbow.
You blushed. “Well, I offered to teach the boys how to make cookies this evening, but Nico and Pedro are busy, so…”
Luna’s eyes widened. “So it’s just going to be you and Simón?” she asked, grabbing your arm in excitement. You nodded, and Luna gasped loudly.
“What’s all the fuss about?” Matteo said, appearing from behind a corner.
The three of you quickly straightened up. “There’s no fuss,” Luna said. Matteo opened his mouth to speak, but the bell rang.
“We’ve got to get to class. Bye!” Nina said, looping her arm through yours and Luna’s and walking you to the classroom.
The three of you sat down. Luna leaned over and whispered, “You’d better tell us all about it tomorrow.” Nina nodded in agreement.
You smiled. “Okay.”

Evening was approaching, and you and Luna were skating together at the rink. Every couple of minutes you checked your watch, eagerly awaiting 6:00 pm.
After you glanced at your wrist yet again, Luna laughed. “You really can’t wait to hang out with Simón, huh?”
You glanced around quickly to make sure no one was eavesdropping. “It’s that obvious?” you asked.
Luna giggled. “Yeah, it is.”
You stopped skating for a moment. “It’s not weird that I’m hanging out with him, is it? You know, since he’s your best friend and all-”
“No, not at all!” Luna interrupted. “I’m super happy for him, and for you. Besides, I think he likes you.” Luna gently elbowed you, a huge grin on her face.
“Really?” you asked excitedly.
Luna nodded. Then she gasped and elbowed you again. “Look who’s here!”
You turned towards the entrance to the rink where Simón had just entered. You and Luna skated over to meet him.
“Hey Luna, Y/N,” Simón said, slightly more nervous than usual, but still smiling.
“Hey Simón,” Luna said. She glanced back at the rink and said, “Looks like someone needs help; I’ll see you guys tomorrow!” She waved before skating off, leaving you and Simón alone. The two of you glanced in the direction she had skated, and it was clear that no one needed her help.
Simón rubbed the back of his neck. “Ready to bake some cookies?” You nodded. “Yeah, I am.”

“Bienvenida a mi casa,” Simón said, opening the door of the apartment and leading you to the kitchen. He turned to you and smiled. “Where do we begin?”
“How about you start by showing me where you keep your ingredients?”
A few minutes later, Simón was carefully measuring out the first of two cups of flour. You leaned over the mixing bowl to get a whiff of the cookie dough, and Simón dumped in the flour, causing a cloud of it to rise into your face.
“Hey, watch it!” you exclaimed, quickly leaning away from the bowl. Without thinking, you reached past Simón, grabbed a small handful of flour from the bag on the counter, and tossed it in his face. As soon as you processed what you had done, you froze in shock, hoping you hadn’t gone too far. Simón blinked, and then one of his signature smiles broke out on his face.
“Oh, it’s on,” he said, and the flour war began. Cloud after cloud of white flour poofed into the air, and the two of you ran around the kitchen trying to avoid them, while continuing to create more. You two started off by only tossing small handfuls of flour, but soon they got bigger and bigger and the two of you had gotten flour all over yourselves and the kitchen.
Eventually, Simón grabbed the bag off of the counter, held it behind his back, and chased you into a corner of the kitchen. Your back was against the wall, and you closed your eyes, bracing yourself for the flour bomb that you were sure was coming. As the seconds ticked on and still nothing came, your heart started to pound faster as you realized you could hear Simón’s breathing not that far away from you. You slowly opened your eyes to meet Simón’s, and for a moment all you did was stare into them. Then Simón brought his hand to his face, opened it to reveal flour, and blew it into your face. You immediately closed your eyes and burst into giggles, and Simón joined in. Once the flour cloud had settled, you opened your eyes again.
“How about we stop wasting the flour and finish making these cookies?” Simón suggested with a grin.
You nodded. “I think you should let me scoop out the rest of the flour to make sure we don’t start anything again.”
Simón narrowed his eyes. “Oh, so you’re blaming me for starting this?” he asked playfully.
“Mm-hmm,” you agreed, snatching the bag of flour from him and walking back to the counter. He rolled his eyes and joined you, and the two of you got back to work.

You and Simón sat at the kitchen table eating some freshly baked cookies.
“Thanks for teaching me the recipe,” Simón said, grabbing another cookie from the plate on the table. “I’m definitely going to make them again.”
You grinned. “Well, now you know how! You can even teach Pedro and Nico how the professionals do it.”
Simón giggled at that last comment, then tilted his head to the side. “Well, I think it’s probably more fun baking when it’s just the two of us.” He leaned a little closer, and your heart beat a little faster. “What do you think?”
Just as you opened your mouth to reply, the front door opened. Nico and Pedro walked in to the scent of freshly baked cookies and the sight of flour everywhere.
“What on earth happened here?” Pedro asked, raising his eyebrows.
Simón leaned back in his seat. “We made cookies,” he said, holding up the plate filled with them. Nico and Pedro both walked over to grab one and take a bite.
“These,” Nico said, waving around his half-eaten cookie, “are delicious. And I’m glad you two had fun. But someone—” he looked pointedly at Simón— “is gonna have to clean this up.”
“Oh, let me help,” you said, standing up.
“Absolutely not,” Simón replied. “I was the one who started it.”
You raised your eyebrows. “I’m glad we agree.” You glanced at the clock on the wall and noticed that it was just past 7:30. “I should probably get going,” you said.
“I’ll drive you,” Simón said, walking you to the door. “But only if you promise we’ll do this again sometime.”
“I would love to,” you said, and although you wouldn’t admit it out loud, the evening had been a dream come true.
