Zoro:

“Excuse me?” Zoro laughed.

Your face was suddenly on fire. You hadn't meant to call him darling. You had meant to just ask, “Have you eaten.” you repeated. He looked way too much like the leading man in the romance novel you were reading. It wasn't your fault you called him darling it was the dam books.

“You're missing a part,” Zoro smirked, he was enjoying how flustered you were, it was pretty dang cute.

“Did you eat or not?” you huffed crossing your arms.

“Yeah I did,” he shot you a teasing look, “Darling.”

You thought your face was on fire before… well now it really had to be. You turned and rushed away from him. You might burst into flames from the intensity of your embarrassment. You were going to burn that novel.

“Something wrong darling?” he called after you in a laugh.

Sabo

“Hay Darling could you pass me those papers,” you called to the blond as he was passing your desk painting to a stack of paper across the room from you. You were so engrossed in your work that you hadn't even realized what you'd said.

Sabo froze, a smile coming to dance across his lips, “No problem sweetheart,” he said without skipping a beat. He grabbed the stack of paper before setting them on your desk.

You glanced up at him a puzzled look on your face, “Sweetheart?” you hummed, “What with the pet name Sabo?” you quirked a brow

Sabo’s smile grew, “You're the one who started it.” he wished he could snap a picture of the look you had on your face, it was priceless.

You tilted your head to the side. It took an almost embarrassingly long time for you to relize what you had said to him. You bit your lip before smiling, “I guess your right darling. I did start this,” you purred.

Sabo's face flushed, “Don't use that voice on me, sweetheart,” he leaned down resting his hands on your desk, “and don't start a game you can't win.” his voice had dropped an octave, it was now low and sultry.

“I'm not sure what game you're referring to darling,” you leaned forward laying on the seductive tone even harder, “But if I did I'm sure I'd win.”

Sobo leaned even closer, his eyes were very intense, “Come on sweetheart, you know you'd lose.”

Before the game you two were playing cold get out of hand Kola stepped in. She slapped the back of both of your heads hissing, “Oh cut it out both of you.” she shook her head, a small smile on her lips.

Sanji:

You smiled to yourself as you baked. You were in the process of making marbled brownies. You made a dark chocolate batter followed by a pumpkin batter before swirling them together. You popped your creation into the oven before beginning to clean up your mess. It was currently 1:30 a.m., so you knew you had plenty of time to leave it spotless. Sanji would not wake up till 5 am

You knew that using the kitchen without Sanji's approval could be a dangerous game but you just had to. You would ask Sanji to forgive you later. There was no way you could ask him to use the kitchen not when you were trying to surprise him. You were making him a birthday treat.

You spent the 40 minutes it took for the brownies to bake to clean the kitchen till the floor sparkled. You pulled the pan of brownies out of the oven, they were perfectly baked nice crunchy corners and an ooey gooey center. You were no professional but you could bake like one.

You set the brownies on the counter along with a box of expensive black tea you bought him from a few islands ago. You spent the next ten minutes debating whether or not you'd leave a note. Finally, you gave in to yourself and left a note. “Happy birthday darling,” you wrote out in your nicest handwriting before singing it in the bottom right corner.

Glancing at the clock you read the time was 2:25 am. You skittered out of the kitchen and headed to bead. You sent a silent prayer to whatever god was listening Luffy wouldn't get hungry for a snack before Sanji woke up.

Sanji got out of bed at Five a.m. sharp. It may have been his birthday but he would not skip out on his job. He was the ship's cook and he'd be damned if he didn't cook them a proper breakfast. His birthday would be mad special when he saw the look of delight on Nami’s, Robins's, and (y/n)’s faces when they ate the breakfast he made.

He pulled on clean clothes before heading to the kitchen. He needed a cup of nice strong black tea to wake him up. He almost slipped into his normal routine till his eyes landed on a pan on the counter. He rushed over to it wondering which member of the crew had left him a dirty dish to deal with.

He stopped in front of the pan when he saw it was full, someone had made brownies he felt confused. He then noticed the box of tea next to it. The tea looked expensive. He picked it up and read over the container. He realized it was a tea that he'd put back after he realized he didn't have the budget for it a few islands ago. His eyes finally landed on the little slip of paper resting on the top of the brownies.

“Happy Birthday Darling” he read glancing down to the signature. He felt his heart raced as he read (y/n)’s name. When had she had the time to make this? He looked around the kitchen trying to find evidence of her baking but it was spotless.

He hugged the note to his chest, feeling tears in his eyes. He hadn't expected much for his birthday. This was so much more than what he expected. He decided to not start his prep for breakfast yet. He brewed himself a cup of his new tea, cut himself a brownie, lit a cigarette, and sat down. He could take a bit of time to appreciate the gift.

You were pulled out of bed by Nami at 7 a.m. You were honestly in no mood to be awake, that was until you remembered that it was Sanji’s birthday. You got up stretching and yawning.

You and Nami walked to the kitchen together. You couldn't wait to see how Sanji had reacted to your little surprise. Before you entered the kitchen you whispered into Nami’s ear, “Don't forget to tell Sanji happy birthday.”

She rolled her eyes at you… hard.

Then the two of you walked in. “Good morning Sanji.” You smiled at him.

Sanj slowly and deliberately walked across the kitchen to stand in front of you. He stared into your eyes for a long moment before hugging you. “Thank you, princess,” he whispered kissing your forehead and walking away, A trickle of blood running from his nose.

Marco:

You were sick, you had a fever, your nose was running and you had the chills. You stumbled from the room you shared with Marco to the infirmary. You knew he had to be there since he wasn't in the room with you. You always got needy when you were sick.

You made it there to see Marco working on paperwork. He was slumped over at his desk working like there was no tomorrow. You knew his work was important but at the moment you couldn't care less about it. You just wanted your lover to come cuddle with you and make you feel a little better.

“Darling,” you whimpered as you made it to his desk, “Will you come cuddle with me?” you sounded absolutely pathetic. If your voice alone had not convinced him to come to bed with you then the way you looked forced his hand. You had a pout on your face the comforter of your shared bed wrapped around you.

Marco looked up from the paperwork he was working on, “You really shouldn't be out of bed.” he said a smile on his lips as he shook his head.

“I don't wanna be alone. Darling, please come to bed with me.” The pout on your face mixed with the flush of fever made you look more than cute.

Marco laughed, you only ever called him darling when you wanted him to do something for you. He wanted to pretend like it wasn’t an effective strategy but couldn't. Whenever you called him darling he was putty in your hands, “OK my little bird I'll come back to bed with you.” he sighed.

Your pout turned into a smile as you heard his words, “Thank you.” Even with your slightly scratchy voice, Marco found your voice soothing.

Marco stood up from his desk and walked over to you. He easily swept you off of your feet, carrying you bridal style, “Let's get you back to bed before you share this cold with someone.” he had no worries about getting sick himself, ever since he ate the phoenix phoenix fruit he was immune to most colds and illnesses.

“If you leave me there I'm gonna follow you.” You leaned into his chest closing your eyes already feeling sleepy.

Marco just shook his head. He knew for a fact you weren't joking. He sighed, for the sake of the crew he’d better stay with you. He tried to be upset about having to stay in bed with you but he couldn't manage it.

Buggy

You laid in bed next to Buggy. Your lover had his back to you as he slept You had had a nightmare and couldn't get yourself to fall asleep. You didn't want to wake him up, but you really wanted him to hold you. You didn't need to talk about the nightmare you just needed to be in his arms. You hesitantly reached a handout and shook his shoulder, “Please wake up darling.” you whispered.

Buggy was usually a heavy sleeper but the fear in your voice made him instantly roll over. With sleep still fogging his senses he asked, “What’s the matter, honey?” he looked at you with tired but concerned eyes.

“I'm sorry to wake you but would you please just hold me?” you asked in a soft and apologetic voice.

Buggy studied your face for a long moment before wrapping his arms around you and pulling you to his chest. It didn't take a genius to tell you were upset. The look you had on your face was heartbreaking, “Don't be,” he mumbled, “Do you want to tell me what's wrong now or in the morning.” his voice sounded grumpy but you could tell he truly did want to make you feel better.

“In the morning darling,” you close your eyes already feeling like you could sleep again, “please just go back to sleep.” You kissed his cheek.

He grunted in response holding you tighter. He would sleep now, but in the morning he'd find out what had upset you. You were his flashy little partner and he would not neglect you. It did not take him long to fall back to sleep.

The sound of his heart and the feeling of his chest rising and falling quickly calmed you down. You found it much easier to sleep. You found yourself falling back to sleep rather quickly.

I wanna start doing lists/rankings. I doubt anyone will wanna see them, but it's for me, so that's fine.

If anyone does wanna see. Some might have spoilers (like this one), so look out for that.

Anywhoo...

MY TOP 10 FAVORITE STRAWHATS

10 Sanji. I don't hate Sanji per se, as whenever he's not being weird around women, I actually like him. The problem is when he's around women. I don't like it. Stop it. Stahp. That being said at least he's cool when he's not around women and his genuine relationships with his crew and Zeff make me happy. I love his rivalry with Zoro

9. Usopp. Oh boy. I HATED him as a kid. I'm still not the biggest fan of him now, either. But he's... fine, and at least he gets better as the show progresses. He does get braver and less cowardly. But I still hate how much of a wuss and braggart he is. Also... his luck annoys me at times, but at least it comes in handy

8. Chopper. He was once one of my favorite straw hats, but as I got older, his naivity and gullibility started irking me. His "We need a doctor " joke was never funny to me either. He's still AWESOME. Don't get me wrong, all the straw hats are. I know my complaints about Usopp and Sanji may make anyone think i think otherwise, but i do geniounly like all the straw hats as characters. But those irks about Chopper are why he's so low. That being said, he's still a great character, and I love how compassionate he is about being a doctor. He's also adorable. I want to hug him.

7. Luffy. He's awesome! I just like the others more, sorry Luffy...I truly hate to put you this low. He's everything I love in an anime protagonist. Stubborn, brave, determined to protect those he loves. He can be smart when he needs to be and is so dang cool. Luffy is one of the best anime protagonists of all time, and I can't wait for him to be king.

6. Zoro. I love that he's not just a badass. He's also kinda dumb, and it makes him more endearing. But he's also still badass and super loyal. Amazing character, feck yeah. His directions gag is pretty funny, too. I also love the idea of three sword styles, and he actually makes it super cool.

5. Franky. Reverse chopper, he used to be one of my least favorites. But my God is he so FUNNY. He is easily the funniest character, in my opinion. He's also super epic, and I love his take on masculinity and how sensitive he is. I will say, tho...not a big fan of his redesign. I also love that he refuses to wear pants. Overall, great character.

4. Nami. She is so awesome. From day one, she was epic and I love that for the most part, she isn't a Damsel in distress. Her take on Fishmen despite what happened to her makes me respect the hell out of her. She's so strong and brave and even kind. She may be greedy, but it makes a lot of sense. Easily one of the best characters.

3. Brook. Look...I may not like his panty thing, but at least it's over fast and isn't as cringy as Sanji's thing. That being said... I admit I'm biased. I tend to like skeleton characters because I think they're cool. And well...Brook is no exception. He's a gentleman, a musician, and has skull jokes! There's so much to like about him!

2. Robin. She's my 2nd favorite character in the whole show. She's so intelligent and mysterious and super freaking cool! I love how she slowly starts to trust the straw hats and build bonds with them. Her character arc is my favorite in the entire show. I cannot stress how much I ADORE her. Amazing character. I will fight anyone on this.

1. Jinbe. Best character in the show, but it's close between him and Robin. Again,... some bias, as I think he's attractive. But I genuinely like him as a character, too. Fishmen are my favorite species in one piece, and I tend to like tackles of racism in media as a species. I liked this about the faunus in RWBY, too. Jinbe is a badass. He's funny and oh so huggable. Oh, and I love how he acts like a gentleman. So polite and well spoken. He's just...so damn cool, too. Love him. I love him so much

MONKEY D. LUFFY - Tracer

╰┈➤ I feel like Luffy is so simple enough to play the icon of Overwatch. Luffy was so baffled to see that she was able to teleport and immediately fell in love with the kit. Considering Tracer is also a flanking character, he'd be in the middle of the enemy team causing havoc. Will NOT touch support

Luffy: WOAH SHE CAN TELEPORT???? THATS SO COOL

Other Choices: Reinhardt as Tank, Junkrat as second Damage

RORONOA ZORO - Genji

╰┈➤ This is such an obvious choice, there's no need to explain. He rocks the Sentai skin on Genji or just his regular no-skin outfit just for the green. He's the only hero he has with gold weapons and the highest ranked. He insta-locks this man whenever he's playing.

Sanji: Do you play anyone else Mosshead???

Zoro: Just shut up and heal me if you want to win, cook

Other Choices: Doomfist as Tank

VINSMOKE SANJI - Cole Cassidy

╰┈➤ I feel like Sanji connects with Cassidy's charm and smoking habits so he plays him often. He knows Cassidy is the lover boy of the Overwatch community and everyone obsesses over him so he took that as an opportunity to main him. Sanji's second-best class is support but only really pays attention to Nami's health. Won't heal anyone else (especially Zoro) unless they're shouting at him.

Zoro: SWIRLY BROWS, CAN YOU HEAL ME? IM AT 20 IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT

Sanji: WELL MAYBE IF YOU STOPPED JUMPING SO MUCH ID HEAL YOU. LET ME HEAL MY SWEET NAMI FIRST

Zoro: I DIED ANYWAYS I HOPE THEY KILL YOU

Other Choices: Mercy and Ana as Support

GOD USOPP - Widowmaker

╰┈➤ This choice is so obvious. Widow is a sniping character, and so is Usopp. He is a menace to Widow and doesn't even know it. He likes how Widow isn't meant to be on the actual battlefield but more on the sidelines picking off the enemy teams. He screams like a bitch when someone flanks behind him though.

Usopp: Okay, I killed their supports we should be good- *A Tracer comes up from behind* LUFFYYYYYYYY THERES SOMEONE ON MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Luffy: Oh sorry Im in spawn :p

Other Choices: Lucio as Support, Hanzo as second Damage

NAMI - Kiriko

╰┈➤ Nami definitely loves Kiriko for her more angsty personality that no one likes. She'd rather help in the backlines than deal with fighting up front, but she puts the kunais to WORK. Sanji is always on her tail and targets anyone who tries to or manages to kill her.

Nami: Dang it, I died. Try to hold out a little longer guys-

Sanji: WHO DID IT NAMI????? ILL KILL THEM FOR YOU MY SWEET

Other Choices: Brigette as second Support, Ashe as Damage, D.va as Tank

TONY TONY CHOPPER - Mercy

╰┈➤ Chopper will mainly play any support but Mercy is his top choice. He tries to revive anyone he can even in the tightest of situations. He is the best healer you can get, but he can also be a great tank. But our lil baby gets stressed...

Chopper: IM COMING LUFFY DONT WORRY

Zoro: Chopper, can you damage boost me?

Chopper: YEAH IN A SEC-

Sanji: Chopper revive! That Zenyatta is so low!

Chopper: IM TRYINGGGGGGGG

Other Choices: Orisa and Wrecking Ball as Tank

NICO ROBIN - Moira

╰┈➤ There is no possible way Nico doesn't play Moira. I feel like she's more DPS Moira than anything but still upholds good support for her team.

Other Choices: Sombra as Damage, Lifeweaver as Support

FRANKY - Reinhardt

╰┈➤ Franky is 100% the crew's Tank main. He knows every tank playstyle from top to the very bottom but his favorite is of course the loudest one there. Franky is the most reliable tank you can get. He insta-locks Rein and adores him to the very end.

Sanji: I think you should switch, Franky they have a few counters-

Franky: Ill still kick their asses, I dont care Im playing Reinhardt

Other Choices: Bastion as Damage

SOUL KING BROOK - Junkrat

╰┈➤ Brook finds ruining people's day by playing the most annoying character on the roster the funniest thing ever. He laughs when Junkrat laughs manically. It's such a fitting choice for his personality

Other Choices: Reaper as second Damage

PORTGAS D. ACE - Solider: 76

╰┈➤ He is such a straightforward person enough to play Solider but be dope good at it. Ace would be the type of person to get ahead of themselves and over-extend though.

Sabo: ACE ACE YOURE OVER EXTENDING I CANT HEAL YOU-

Ace: Huh? *dies* Oh my bad

Sabo: Ill get off right now.

Luffy: BAHSKAKAHAIAHA WHY HE DIE LIKE THATAHSAA-

Other Choices: Torbjorn for second Damage

SABO - Baptiste

╰┈➤ Sabo is definitely a good damage support hero. He loves Bap for his sweet personality yet dark backstory similar to his own. He can't stand playing with 2 reckless damages every time though (Luffy and Ace)

Luffy: Saboooooo why didn't you heal meeeeeee :(

Sabo: YOURE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP IM SORRY???

Other Choices: Zenyatta as second Support, Echo as Damage

TRAFALGAR D. WATER LAW - Ramattra

╰┈➤ I see Law playing the most complex Tank in the game but Law can play almost anyone on the roster if he feels like it. He barely gives out any callouts unless he is raging like crazy

Luffy: Imma go in and kill everyone

Law: ...

Zoro: I need help over here not gonna lie

Law: ...

Sanji: I think Im gonna switch-

Law: CAN THIS SYMMETRA STOP PLACING TURRETS ON OUR SPAWN OH MY FUCKING-

EUSTASS KIDD - Roadhog

╰┈➤ Kidd is definitely a one-trick and only for the most annoying tank in the game. Killer is definitely his pocket healer and will yell at anyone who comes after his skills in the slightest

Kid: WHAT??? FUCK YOU SAY

Luffy: YOU SUCK

Kid: I COULD BEAT BOTH OF YOU IN A 1V1 RIGHT NOW-

I'm still new to OP (only began watching the anime around a year ago) and have been considering making your edited versions of the manga my first actual read-through of it. Would you recommend that, do you think, or are the changes you're making better suited for folks rereading the manga?

Also if it is suitable for first time reads / if you wouldn't mind someone's first foray into the manga being your edits, would you recommend the alternate versions you made, or...? (I'm clueless and looking for a bit of direction because I think the project is cool but most of the discussion has been written for and by people already familiar with the text) (I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts if it's not too much of a bother thank u)

I'm trying to make it for both re-reads and first timers! East Blue-Alabasta are a little rough around the edges in my opinion, so i've been slowly.... once again.... going through it... (only started doing this very recently so its nowhere near done, but its only like, small little changes and clean up, nothing too ground shattering)

Personally I'm pretty proud of how Skypiea turned out, there was a lot of work to be done with the whole kami/god thing and Eneru/Enel's name. I really want to make it enjoyable for as many people as possible, and names matter to me, dang it! That's why I made a separate download for the Eneru enjoyers out there if they don't vibe with the edited Enel

I'm not sure if i actually mentioned this, but I've been cleaning up the jpeg artifacts and making the grey scale shading just a BIT smoother! Which... may not be really noticeable... but I really like how it looks

sadly, I don't think tumblr helps to get that across quality-wise, but other than it looking a bit smoother, it just helps to make edits less noticeable because the artifacts would cluster around the text ever so slightly

The main difference with the alternate version is that honorifics are implemented, and when one of the main characters (cough Sanji cough) uses them a lot, I would personally prefer to see them because they're apart of his character (not to mention Vivi's! She's so polite!) And the fact that Sanji is the only one who Nami adds a -kun to! I love little details like that!

So between the Standard and Alternate is just depends on if you like having honorifics or not! Oh and if you want Gum-Gum or Gomu-Gomu... I'm a gum-gum hater but I know people prefer that more, so I left it alone in the Standard version

So that's you're answer! It all depends on your preference! That is the goal with this project :]

From what I remember mako has already met many important characters including 2 future strawhats and a powerful straw hat ally.

Assuming that not too much changes by the time the main story starts. How would these Chracters see mako as meeting her again. Like say meeting a grown up sanji and Law along with th baroque work robin? For me I would at least think sanji and law would be like big brothers to her.

Also any spoilers on who her dad is? Or who mako would be shipped with?

Not much is really different, just that Mako has been alive and in existence for like one more year, making her a year older than what she was originally, but it's also a bit of a mess since like, idk how to tell you, but Shanks is like barely 21 when he has Mako instead of 22, so oop, some things might end up changing, but also god dang, Yassop, you barely knew your own son and now you're just taking care of this rando Shark girl with the others ahahha.

No but seriously, this just means the Red Hair Pirates have Mako longer and that means further disaster because Yassop Daddy experience only goes for like a few months and Mako is half fishman, SO WHOOPS NEW TERRITORY.

So yeah, Robin and Sanji would be ecstatic to see her again, especially since the two of them went their separate ways to pursue their dreams, since Sanji won't get good experience as a cook with Shanks, and Robin, while absolutely delighted to know she is loved and considered important, knows that she has to leave the nest because she can't do what she wants with them and try as they may, they can't help coddling her a bit because Robin mcfucking did not have a good childhood, cmere, you get a hug.

Meanwhile Law would just be happy to see his friend again after so long, to the one person that taught him, alongside Robin, that even monsters deserve to live.

Seeing her thriving and also throwing a wrench in the world government's agenda by just casual exposing cover-ups in order to let the truth shine through....yeah, he’s happy to see her. Genuinely, no joke or nothing. Especially Robin and Sanji, though how the turn tables. He would've thought Mako would've been her own captain to a crew, but nah, she's content letting Luffy do it while being the resident lifeguard cuz she can swim. And also fish. :V

Her dad isn't actually anyone we know but an OC, like a rando mako shark fishman who effectively got picked out of the bunch to pair up with a Kuja Pirate who wasn't exactly considered a good wife for a Celestial Dragon (aka, dude was sterile, or at the very least got poor kid making skills), so curiosity plus pettiness and a bet equals Mako into the mix. Which is very bad.

That said, Mako's bio dad is related to some existing characters. And I will say this, Arlong won't exactly take to well to ever seeing her, because she serves as a constant reminder in a cog to a tragedy.

(Hint: it involves Koala going home - you can figure it out there, but yeah, Mako's uncle is pretty famous :V)

(He also had a hand in how Mako's mother was able to escape and while Mama was hoping to go back to Amazon Lily, she at least was in a safe place amongst Shanks crew when she gave birth to Mako)

Originally, i didn't have romance in mind, but honestly, I'm at a whatever happens, happens, because Mako's circumstances are so unique and complicated, that her situation allows her complexity, given how 17 seems to be the age at which people are considered adults or at least allowed to drink, and being a pirate just adds to it, mixed in with being someone who has a bounty.

Romance isn't off the table for her, so keep an eye out for it. Dont expect anytjing until after the time skip tho, she’s a little like Luffy in that it's the last thing on her mind lmao.

But also she's got a storm coming her way come Whole Cake Island because Big Mom wants Shanks's daughter for connections so...

Lucky son Katakuri got picked by my friends, so that's gonna be a "bruh wtf"

Aka, we got two weddings to crash. Except Mako isn't getting killed, but she still wants out of it, nope nope nope

Anyways wedding dress mako kicking ass. :V

Idk why Marco and Jinbe specifically are my favorite. Tbh they both show up so late in the manga but I don't even remember who my favorites were before them. I just saw them and it was an immediate latching on, my brain just went YUP THEMS THE ONE. (At least for Jinbe, with Marco it didn't happen until Marineford.) But where do I even begin. I'm head over heels for those men. I would bear their children if they wanted (and I don't want kids so much that I got sterilized, but if I weren't and they were real and asked- yes, anything for you, absolutely.)

Marco is just. Ugh, so cool, the moment he transformed I knew it was over (I am weak for animal-shifter characters or chars with animal traits.) But beyond the coolest zoan fruit ever he's just so loyal and fun and sweet. I think about Marco frequently. I don't generally use this phrase because it's a bit after my time, but I could consider him a comfort character. When I cook I think of Sanji standing by encouraging me. When I do difficult mental health stuff or taking care of myself I think of Marco. I know he would care so much it hurt. I just feel it. If I need reassurance falling asleep, bam, I just picture him with me. And things are better because someone I think is amazing cares.

Currently have a Marco/Reader longfic planned. The Google doc for it is 18k words of just notes/scene ideas. It's the longest doc of all my planned longfics. Speaking of which, I really need to read Birds of a Feather.

As for Jinbe... he's so genuinely kind and honest. I love his laugh. I love how badass he is. I love knowing how strong he is but knowing he would be SO gentle. He's a pillar in the communities he's in. He knows when he's made mistakes and apologizes sincerely (i.e. Arlong). He's determined and headstrong in a good way. I love how he shows that pride can be a beautiful, just thing.

Also I love how god dang BIG he is and I love his pointy teeth and big mouth and cute round nose. I'm terrified of whale sharks IRL (the thought of being in the water with anything big scares me but especially things with huge mouths like whales, like, just a picture of a basking shark feeding gives me the creeps) but I know Jinbe would take me swimming and introduce me to one all gently and show me there's nothing to be afraid of even as I have a death grip on his hand.

Marco is not Jinbe big but he's still stupidly tall compared to me and that makes me kinda swoon. I love my big faves. I love how happy thinking about them makes me.

I need to finish plotting a Jinbe fic. Shameful I've never put out any solo works with wither fave in them. Idk why!!! Brain weird.

\o/ I love everything about this. I had to read it twice because my "I just woke up for the day" brain wasn't picking it all up the first time.

I will, without shame, say, yes, you should read Birds of a Feather. I'm quite proud of how it's turning out and it might become my personal favorite at this rate.

I've noticed that it can actually be harder to write about your faves. I think there's a paralysis in there of wanting to get it PERFECT, because your feelings for them are so strong that anything less than PERFECT isn't good enough. But, we don't love them cause they're perfect, and thus perfection isn't a requirement - it's never a requirement, it's a trap, honestly.

Getting words and lines on paper is all that's needed. The intent will be there, the skill will follow, but the EFFORT, that's the important part. The effort to just type or draw or whatever. That attempt, that time, that result - no matter how it turns out, that's the important part. That's the love.

To try and fail is more a sign of appreciation and love than to stay still waiting perfection.

BUT I HAVE DIGRESSED A BIT.

Things that hit me on a film red rewatch:

this movie is sad dude

shanks was in it even less than I remembered lmfao

maybe jinbe only just joined and maybe he didn’t have TOO much to say but by god toei made sure that man had some action every time he was around he’d take up like the full dang screen

speaking of toei like actually seriously holy budget man we’ve been blessed

ofc sanji knew what those shrooms do

shanks’ crew is so cool wtf I love the parallels particularly between benn beckman and zoro and I always have but it’s just so good to see them

speaking of tho holy fuck did zoro and sanji interact a lot. so like in a movie when the main cast is kind of pushed aside, they like REALLY seemed to interact a LOT since what little time they have on screen was spent being together. So then they dedicate that precious screentime to their bickering and touching each other in the middle of a whole lot of other busy shit going on. All of this is on brand and hilarious

why were they sleeping together?!?????????!????????????? was the outfit thing intentional?????????? im screaming hoarsely

sanji even manages to sleep like a simp. somehow

anyway, we're jumping back in to the story with luffy trying to bargain with zeff.

honestly i'm on zeff's side here, luffy. like, you did fuck up pretty damn bad!

if luffy wasnt a rubber man this would have probably killed him, so that's kind of fucked up too

the debate is rather spirited!

and then we get introduced to yet another new guy!

i love how leg hair is always an important detail in this manga.

Hello everyone!

From this day onwards, I’ll post exact 7 different stories/HC’s/Art of Sanji on the occasion of his birthday. (Aka from 26th Feb to 4th March)

Pairing : Sanji X Reader

Warnings : Noting but fluff! Happy ending!

Word Count : 1.5K

Summary : Reader is a regular at Sanji’s cafe and everyday receives a compliment or a small writing on the order. ( Aka Cup) This makes the reader so happy and slowly develops a crush on him. One day due to turn of some events, Reader asks him out. For which he becomes very happy and of course happy ending!

A/N : I was listening to BTS Black Swan (Clickable) while I wrote this. Listen to it for more feels! I assure you, you wont regret listening to it.

You sat in your usual place with the hot beverage on you table. As you continued to work on your laptop, you took small sips of your drink. But sure you weren’t totally concentrated on your work thanks to a certain blond barista. He always smiled at you whenever your eyes met, replacing the embarrassment with heart fluttering. It was just a small crush, nothing much. Well, it wasn’t like he was only nice to you. He was polite to all the customers. He always made you look forward to coming here every evening at sharp 5 was because of one thing. You again took your cup and looked at the writing on it.

“You look so cute when you smile”, you smiled looking at it. It was just a crush.

On a very stressful day, you came to this café and placed your order. The same blond, served your order. You took a sip of that drink and instantly, fell in love with the flavour. You cooled down because of the texture and the taste of the drink. It was heavenly. You drank it as your mind slowly relieved you of your negative and stressful thoughts. You smiled as you placed your empty cup down on the table.

Then you noticed, a beautiful handwriting was on the cup. It said, “Thanks for the smile”. Your eyes widened with surprise as you looked at the blond. He just served an order and then looked at you and smiled. You took your belongings and also the cup and left the café. You looked at the cup one more time and took a picture of it. This was the only nice thing happened to you all week. So it didn’t seem silly at all in that moment. Now even after becoming a regular to this place, he never once forgot to write note for you and you never missed taking the photo of the notes. It became a routine for you. Every time you opened your gallery, these photos would come into your view and would make you smile. You made sure to tell your friends Kidd and Killer about this café and its delicious drinks. They also visited the café and really liked it. That day, you saw that he wrote, “Thank you so much”, on your cup. Kidd and Killer were not always with you but they did become regulars to the café because of you.

One evening you entered the café and went to order but, the blond wasn’t there. You looked around as you scanned the place with your eyes. He wasn’t in the café. Your order was given to you. You took it and sat. You opened your laptop and started to work. Your mind didn’t allow you to work peacefully. You couldn’t finish your work properly and wasted 2 hours. You placed your things in your bag and went towards the door to leave. Just when you were about to exit, then the blond came in. He was wearing causal outfit and not the usual uniform of the café. Your eyes locked with his and he smiled at you and for the first time, he talked to you, “Oh! Are…Are you leaving?”

You of course couldn’t say that you were leaving because he wasn’t there. So you just nodded. His jaw clenched then he looked at the counter and again at you.

“Just wait for a minute please”, he rushed over to the counter and within seconds he made a different kind of drink, which you never tried in this place. He quickly scribbled on the cup and came towards you. He handed it over to you. You tried to open your purse to give him money but he placed his hand on yours and said, “Not required. Just take it as a gift. Please”. He pulled his hand back and gave you a quick bow, then went to the employees’ only room.

You left with a smile on your face. You took a sip of the drink and then you noticed that it was so unique and different. You never drank this type of drink ever in your life. This was delicious and had smooth texture. It instantly became your favourite. You then looked at the cup to see what he wrote and it was, “9am to 12pm + 7pm to 11pm”

‘Dang. He wrote his timings’, you smiled thinking that. Then your eyes widened. ‘So… is he expecting to see me during these timings? Does he know about my… crush?’ you didn’t knew what to do. Well, even if the drinks were amazing, your reason for going there every day was… him. You remembered about the work you had to do that day and rushed home. ‘Whatever… I can regret later. I’ll go at 7pm tomorrow’, you thought as you drank your drink.

Next evening you came at 7 and looked at the handsome barista. His eyes clearly twinkled as he saw your form. You went to him and said, “Yesterday, the drink you gave me, it was amazing. I guess it became my favourite now. What is it called?”. He placed his hand on the back of his neck and said, “Thank you so much, but… I didn’t give it a name yet. It’s a new drink which needs to be added to the menu. No one tried it yet, except... for you.” Your eyes widened at his words.

“That… that was a new drink you came up with and it’s not even on the menu?!”, you said as you placed your hand on your mouth. It was shocking for you. He was this talented and the new release he planned was tasted by you first. He chuckled at your reaction and nodded as his hands caught the marker.

“That was super good! I’m sure it will be a huge hit when you add it in your menu”, you said to him as he looked at you and then again onto the cup as he wrote something. He handed you the cup and you noticed that it was the new drink as yesterdays. You smiled and thanked him. You looked at the writing and it said, “Your expressions are so pure, so innocent”. It wasn’t like the daily compliments and pickup lines. It… kinds felt personal. Your cheeks turned pink. You sat at a table and started to work on your laptop with enthusiasm.

As you were working, then suddenly your eyes caught a glimpse of a very beautiful lady who entered the café. She straight went towards the counter and started to talk to the blond. She had orange hair and wore a crop top making her thin waist visible. She was gorgeous. His eyes turned into hearts as soon as he saw her. He then gave her 2 cups of drinks for which… she didn’t seem to… pay for? You didn’t knew that but… your eyes followed her till she exited the café.

‘Was she his girlfriend?’, you thought seeing the way she talked to the blond in a very familiar manner. ‘How could I, compare to her?’, you thought as you sipped your drink. It was delicious but… you didn’t feel like to drink anything now. ‘Why did I even think that I had a chance? Why did I even developed this stupid crush on a man, who was taken? Of course with his looks and behaviour he should be in a relationship by now! God… I’m so stupid’, your mind was filled with different thoughts. After a while you got up and went towards the counter. You smiled at the blond and said, “Your girlfriend is really beautiful”

His gave a confused look as you said that. “I’m sorry but… I don’t have a girlfriend”, he replied.

“Oh? But the lady who just came here, I.. I thought she was your-”

“Nope! She is just a friend”, he didn’t let you finish your sentence. You were a bit glad that he said it.

“So, you are single?”, you questioned. For which he smirked and leaned a bit on the counter. He looked into your eyes and said, “Yes. I am single. Do you want to ask me out or something?”

“Yes”, you said it without even thinking. His smirk was replaced with a shock now. Realising what you did, you thought of brushing it off but you heard, “Really? You aren’t kidding right?”, he questioned. His eyes were looking for a serious answer, so you didn’t wanna lie. ‘If he rejects, I can regret later’, you thought as you took a deep breath.

“I’m serious, I really am asking you out but, only if you want ofco-”

“YES! YES!”, he practically shouted and made everyone to look at you two. He apologised and everyone went back to what they were doing. Then you noticed him placing some cups on a tray. But… They didn’t seem to have any writings on them. Another worker came and took the plate to serve the customers.

“You didn’t write anything on those cups”

“Yeah… Its… Its actually… only you. I only write on your cup. I thought you knew”, he said making your heart beat even faster. ‘Why was he doing this to my heart? and why didn’t I noticed it before’, you thought as you both blushed.

You both kept quiet not knowing what to say after that. You decided to break the ice and asked, “I never got to know your name. What is it?”

“Its Sanji. May I know your name please”, he asked

“Its Y/N”.

“Oh that's the name of my new drink, what a coincidence”, he playfully said as you raised your eyebrow and looked at him puzzled.

“Don't look me like that, its a joke”, he said.

After someways you got to know, that it wasn’t a joke. He literally included your favourite as “Y/N’s Favourite” in the menu and everyone loved that drink. You got yourself a drink named after you which was super tasty. You were sure it became everyone’s favourite after that day. You blushed as Kidd and Killer teased you for that.

“Damn I’m lucky”, you said as you looked at Sanji. His cheeks turned pink as he heard you say that. You both smiled at each other.

One Piece Chapter 1024 - Initial Thoughts

Happy Volume 100 Day! Indeed, Volume 100 officially comes out today, it's a shame we didn't get more of those We Are One segments (just like the Nissin noodle commercials) but it wrapped up nicely

There's also a chapter to deal with though so let's get to it

Spoilers for Chapter 1024, Support the Official Release too!

I forgot to mention the special Popularity Poll colour spreads last time but here's our middle one mainly involving the Straw Hats, Vivi, the remaining Supernovas, Bon, Merry, Woop Slap (seriously how?) and some villains (Crocodile, the rest of Moria and Enel). Sneaky bit of Sabo on the side too who'll be fully displayed in the next spread

Oh Usopp, your braggadocios scamp you. He's spreading Fear of God by claiming some recent KOs are due to his Conqueror's Haki

Also claiming to have defeated 2 of the Tobi Roppo...I mean he contributed at least, maybe word it like 'I fought two of the Tobi Roppo and I'm still standing'

Plus he's riding a very unimpressed Alligator SMILE atrocity XD

Horsealina chan (aka Speed) is back to protect sweet child Tama, as it turns out the KOs are from Big Mom's Conqueror's Haki who's fighting on this floor, which must mean that Law and Kid are taking it to her

Also it's still worth applauding that Nami, Usopp, Speed nor even Tama have succumbed to BM's Conqueror's Haki

Luffy's status is still unknown to the crew though, and Nami does seem a bit nervous about it when asking Franky

Franky's right though, no news is good news because if Luffy was defeated or dead he'd be paraded around by the Yonko

Franky is also making motions to move Nami and Usopp with him to the performance floor, so the crew's gonna be converging soon

Some Heart Pirate action too as they fend off any attempts at enemies intervening on Zoro and Sanji's fight with King and Queen, seems like Law they don't like to be told to do stuff by the Straw Hats either

Everyone's bouncing from the Third Floor too thanks to Maria's arson attempts

Out in a blaze of Yohoho is Brook carrying Robin, but no you're not cremated just yet, need to be ashes for that

Look at Robin so peaceful, as Brook guards over her and also is eager to know how things are going

He calls Jimbei who's on the Fourth Floor with Kid's remaining crew, didn't know Kid has a feral female crewmate

Trust Jimbei to be concerned about the big picture of Kaido, but he also mentions how people are fleeing the castle, is it because of the fight in the Performance Floor or because we've reached mainland?

Showing Kawamatsu defending the line does make me think the former

But back to Yamato vs Kaido now, looks like some parent/child attack tennis

Since we can't avoid it now I know the Vivre Card Databook is saying that Yamato is female but since Yamato is identifying as Oden and was still canonically called Kaido's son I'm gonna continue to use male pronouns for the time being. Don't read too into it okay or leap at me for using the wrong pronoun because it's a can of worms right now and I don't want to be part of it

I mean, come on Yamato it's not like you expected Kaido to take it easy on you when you're trying to stop one of his endgame plans

Flashback time! And that's where the Dragon statue used to be...

Kid Yamato is precious, and also has Conqueror's Haki

Kaido all about not winning any Father of the Year awards, he's been starving Yamato, says if he wants to be Oden then he'd be better off dead, then threw him in a cave for a month

Yamato isn't alone though, there are three master swordsmen samurai in the cave too

And now he entices them, with a serving of food for one and a load of swords to fight over it

And the twisted cherry on the bastard cake: 'But I thought you were Oden', was there ulterior motive though? Oden would be able to inspire the Samurai right? I guess not for his own gain though given how he's treating Yamato

The Samurai grab the swords, but they hand Yamato the food: Samurai don't get hungry...unless they're Kin'emon and Momo, like how Kunoichi don't get hungry unless it's Tama

Full on Tama vibes from Kid Yamato eating their first meal in ages, I see that Oda

Dang then one of the Samurai just cut the chains off of him

Since I was given away on spoilers (like seriously guys use the 'Keep Reading' thing, it's the best way to hide spoilery stuff for those who don't wanna be spoiled) this must be Ushimaru, and he does look like those old Zoro pictures

He also now has an eye injury, but he feels disgraced, probably because he was captured rather than killed

Look at this little baby who is probably 5 foot tall hiding behind Oden's journal and doesn't know how to read yet

Looks like Yamato had 3 Dads, all of them Samurai, who taught him to read Oden's journal so he could fanboy more

10 Days pass and Yamato is weakening, seems like the Samurai feel that Yamato will need to be in the fight

Ushimaru though with the Shimotsuki crest on his back has had enough of prison, the Samurai are busting out and in turn giving Yamato freedom from the cave too

Amanowato, I feel like that's important, but the only thing I can find is a special dance (Amanowato Mai) that's performed on the day of the Annual Festival - October 15th...which is a Friday so maybe...

Back to the present and Yamato asks the tough questions, what right does Kaido have to steal freedom?

But Kaido makes a usual cruel response, there are no easy answers

And then we conclude with a clash of Thunder Bagua

Whooof, lot in that chapter huh?

We've got collective chaos with the Straw Hats as they do as expected begin to converge towards the performance floor, perhaps for the final hold off before Luffy and Momo arrive.

Oda though must've known that we were hoping for a Zoro flashback, because he then gave Yamato one instead XD It was cool to see some supportive people in Yamato's past, but while Yamato4Nakama fans will point that he now has a link to Zoro via Ushimaru we also have to note that Yamato's backstory may not have enough tragedy to be a Straw Hat (I'm joking in this btw, Carrot doesn't either unless the Dukes die but Zoro and Usopp's backstories aren't so tragic either)

Yamato giving me Tama vibes when a child is interesting, I do wonder why we have gone that route other than adorableness, but you can see where his strong admiration for Samurai lies too. Wonder how he got Oden's journal so young though

But yeah, no break which is good, I have a feeling though we'll get one next chapter after the colour spread is finished, 1025 could be setting something up big so Oda can pass out for a few days till giving us fire once again

Wreck wreck wreck he's a wreck--

If you brush this mans hand with a finger like you're about to hold his hand he's going to be so frickin red in the face already, and if you don't go through with it he's going to be even more broken.

Make a noise like a cross between a grunt and a whine as he spins away rubbing the back of his neck rapidly as if nothing just happened right then. He'll play it off if you try and get his attention, albeit in a very shouty "I'M NOT BLUSHING SHUT UP I'M GOING OVER HERE BYE-" way.

He's definitely the type of person who doesn't want to push things- he is in deep with his S/O, even from the very first week with them, but god forbid he risk scaring them off. So the pace is pretty much up to his S/O, even if they keep backing out.

Drives him bonkers regardless though!

If it keeps happening he’ll get low-key concerned that he’s done something wrong to make his S/O keep shying away from holding his hand or kissing.

Definitely asks if he’s upset them in any way or scared them, but does it in a kind of round-a-bout way to avoid bringing up hand holding or kissing.

He does not want them to think he’s trying to push them into doing either if they’re not yet ready to, so he doesn’t go anywhere near the subject.

Once he’s been assured he hasn’t done anything wrong though, he’s all good. He’s still an absolutely flustered and shouty wreck every time the almost’s happen, but he doesn’t do anything to try and speed his S/O up or push them along.

And when his S/O finally holds his hand, pecks his cheek or lips lightly for the first time, he’s a gosh darn puddle. For once he’s so deeply red in the face, but minus the shouting. He’s so in love.

Sanji:

He is so dang frustrated in so many ways, let me tell ya.

He's a mess- crossed between his usual flirty and overzealous behavior, and not wanting them to think he's going too fast or trying to push them along.

But ALSO he wants !! To do things !! For you !!

BUT ALSO NOT GO TOO FAST--

He's just naturally like that and is used to jumping in and making every dang first move, so allowing his partner to do so first to have control for their comfortability is new to him, but he's doing his best!

He’s really good externally about the shying away or backing out at the last second, whether it’s kisses or hand holding.

Internally, he is screeching.

Really wishes he could just scoop them up and hold their hand while giving them little kisses all over their face.

He never, ever would though. Everything is up to his S/O, and he means it. He could wait forever for them to fully make the first moves and he’d be just as happy.

When his S/O finally holds his hand or gives him a little kiss though, he will not stop squealing, blushing hard, making giant heart eyes, yelling their name in the most over-the-moon joyous tone imaginable, and just- looking so dang happy.

Law:

He’s usually a pretty chill type of guy to have as a partner.

Says he doesn’t mind taking it slower or leaving first moves up to his S/O at all, and he’s absolutely telling the truth.

Fingers brushing on his but pulling back at the last second, a false leaning in to give him a kiss- he isn’t all that bothered at all.

Also yes, but he does his dang well best to hide it.

He doesn’t mind all the shying and backing out, and definitely understands all the reasons that could cause his S/O to do so, from just teasing him, to wanting to take it slower than even they thought in the moment.

Won’t push them at all. He said he’d let them pick the pace, he meant it. And making his S/O happy first is infinitely more important than getting to hold their hand or kiss them sooner than they want.

The second they actually go through with it though? Even if just an absentminded grab of his hand or a little kiss on his cheek?

Gone. He's gone.

He will do every little thing to cover it up, from clenching his jaw and coughing as his cheeks paint red, to arching an eyebrow at you and hmphing like it didn't get to him in the slightest.

Good God if we're talkin about all the characters one piece that's going to be interesting I mean I kind of I'm just going to stick with straw hats on this one because otherwise my brain is going to hurt and say for hyperactive honest I'm pretty much kind of Luffy fullsteam little bit on the clueless side and that I'm pretty kind-hearted I do try to forgive people corky wise I relate to Frankie a lot and I do like to tinker with things when I get the chance I haven't been able to in the last few years and of course chopper too on the fact that I can't take a compliment worth anything and I have some random medical knowledge
