something a bit more personal so heads up
some tomm/tsb (me) lore: i've been a big fan of dragon ball since 2019, was actually a dragonball fanartist for two years straight (was my previous heavy fixation until i caved into mario). i'm also a big fan of matpat / gametheory since ofc 2014 due to fnaf and got back to frequently watching him around 2021.
both HUGE impacts that idk where i would be without them ever interfering my already heck of an enigma life. worse part is the fact i have to say goodbye to them both JUST a day apart. yes mat isn't deceased but the thought of not seeing him as much anymore after JUST getting to watch him again is straight-up heartbreaking. i would still watch and am already fond of the existing crew and 100% approve his retirement reasons. yet it all has been tearing me apart personally. it hurts. a lot. its sad. very sad. but in the end: i'm happy. i'm happy for the memories, experiences, and growth i received with them that i was able to receive in my life. both young and now as an adult.
watching. playing, drawing, and talking about how goku and his friends will get through the next challenge. it's made me love friendship adventure stories so much more, anxiously waiting for the next episode of super every saturday night on toonami. impacting me to become more optimistic and not to be afraid to draw what i really love (fanart). matpat encouraged me to think inside AND outside the box, to question reality and fiction, open to criticism and theorizing in a more bigger picture. wether serious, comedically, or satire, it wasn't just learning about the world or inner depictions of video games, food, or how to style ourselves; but for fun and loving those around you. appreciating the moment and learning at the same time. someone i could genuinely relate to and open my heart back up to older franchises such as mario, learning the film industry as i always wanted to, learn to appreciate food and get out of my comfort zone, and ofc be more knowledgeable of what i wear and how it can impact me. i could seriously just keeping going on and on.
idk how to end this other than by saying thank you. thank you toriyama. thank you matpat. never was it in my bingo card of 2024, but nothing is going to stop me from continuing to love and appreciate the things these two amazing individuals brought into the world, impacting so many lives. 💚❤️💛💙 + 🐉💥

X Fem!Reader || Vegito Relationship Headcs (Part 2)
Tumblr media
A/N: The apparently long-awaited 2nd part to this (edit: fixed link), that I made September 2021. Still can't believe this won the poll, sheesh.
In the future there will probably be a part 3 and a (nsfw) part 4 to this; with part 4 being the final addition. Those plans could change though, so I guess everyone will have to stay tuned!
TAGLIST: @enayru / @carnal-lnstinct / @yeowangies (if you want to be a part of the tag list, like this post!)
Tumblr media
—At first, your relationship with Vegito didn’t change that much on the surface. Your sense of friendship was still strong, but there was an added layer of intimacy on top of it that made even simple actions feel different.
—Vegito himself wasn’t more touchy-feely, at least right away. You eventually taking initiative and giving him kisses or tight hugs is what spurred him to try being more direct himself. You were delighted when he placed his lips gently to your cheek for the first time, and found it very endearing that his blush made him as red as an apple.
—Kissing, caressing, cuddling…it was all so new to him. The proud warrior had little prior experience, or absolutely none at all if you don’t count Goku and Vegeta’s previous relationships, but part of him felt driven to be active with returning your affections. He didn’t want you to think he didn’t appreciate it, or you. He just had to get more used to it all, with time.
—One thing that was easy for him to do, but still carried significant meaning, was he wrapping his furry and oh-so soft tail around various parts of your body – usually your waist or arms. Having learned some time ago that this small act was a message of a Saiyan’s deep care, if not love, towards the recipient made your heart flutter like it was trying to fly from your chest.
—Another way Vegito expressed his affection for you in an indirect, non-conventional way was wanting to train with you. Granted, you weren’t a ridiculously strong fighter like him (A/N: in this story set of headcanons at least sssh), so the “training” was more so like merely exercising with him. He was like a coach, giving you pointers on how to improve your stamina among other things. He also helped you do various stretches to work your muscles, and taught you the basics of self-defense. Something you quickly developed a liking to was sitting or lying on his back while he did push-ups.
—His Super Saiyan transformations fascinated you. It was like he could dye his hair in seconds, and revert it back whenever he wanted to! Humor aside, there was something very charming about the change; especially with his eyes taking on a beautiful turquoise color. You loved how he looked in his base form, but while Super Saiyan…he was still very handsome.
—The two of you had spoken about ki previously, but during these quality time sessions, you learned more about the concept. After putting in a lot of effort over the course of some weeks, you managed to learn ki sensing, and even managed to channel your energy into a ki ball! It was extremely tiny mind you, the size of a golf ball maybe, but you were so proud of yourself! Vegito was too. He even gave you a sweet little kiss too as a congratulations.
—The next step was teaching you how to fly, and in about a month’s time, you raised yourself off the ground for the first time. You had seen Vegito fly plenty of times before, but finally doing it yourself was a mind-boggling experience. You weren’t at soaring level yet, but there was something about floating in the air and holding hands with your boyfriend that was magical.
—Your first glimpse into how fantastically bizarre Vegito’s life was happened on a normal day. You were out on a pleasant afternoon stroll with him, when he suddenly stopped and looked skyward, appearing surprised. He didn’t respond to your puzzled inquiry right away, but after the stretch of silence, he gave you an apologetic smile and stated he got contacted telepathically by an old associate just then. It took a couple of minutes to explain, but you got the gist that said old associate was a literal god out in heaven. And said god needed his help with putting a stop to a threat that would eventually threaten multiple planets. Neat, was all your flabbergasted mind could think as Vegito assured you he’d be back soon before vanishing with Instant Transmission.
—You got quite the entertaining story later on when he returned, and it functioned as a gateway into you learning about many of the fights he and the two people who created him had over the years. You thought there was nothing about Vegito that could stun you at this point, but once again, you were proven wrong. It was utterly ridiculous that entities so powerful that they could sneeze to blow up a planet existed out in the cosmos, but you already were far too down the “my boyfriend himself is an alien who can fly” hole that you just accepted it.
—Whenever the topic of Goku or Vegeta (or both) came up, you always noticed Vegito became more…shy. Self-conscious. He wouldn’t reveal why, but you suspected it had something to do with how he perceived his own identity. You didn’t want to force him to do anything that made him uncomfortable, so while you never questioned him, you were careful to not make comparisons between Vegito and them. That was unfair to him, since he wasn’t them, even if he was their fusion. Vegito is his own person and deserves to be given that respect, just like anyone else.

Foghorn Leghorn Destroys The Ani-Verse (2024)
If you’ve been on social media the past few days, you’re probably wondering why Foghorn Leghorn, the boisterous rooster from Looney Tunes, is giving pep talks to your favorite anime and video game characters. It turns out the joke has roots going as far back as 2021, but has gained new life in the past few days. One of the earliest examples of Foghorn’s anime coaching I found was from X (formerly Twitter) user @nflstreet4, who plopped our feathered friend into a scene from the anime Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro. Here, he’s seen telling protagonist Naoto Hachiouji to stand up for himself, and even if it’s just in text, the cadence of his southern accent is unmistakable. […] The trend has become so massive that it caught the attention of Foghorn’s current voice actor, Eric Bauza (who also voices several other characters in the franchise, like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck). Bauza graciously voiced a fan-made interaction between the character and Dragon Ball’s Goku as he fights Frieza, one of the main villains of the franchise. Source: Kotaku

Here are some interesting observations I have made regarding both Fnaf and Danganronpa that relate to each other. It may just be confirmation bias, but its still fun to point these out:
Killer robot bears
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In DR 1 monokuma says "you look like you've seen a ghost. A robot bear... ghost?" Which is something that fnaf revolves around. And I don't just mean robot bears possessed by ghosts, we have ghosts that take the form of robot bears too. Specifically this happens during the scene when Monokuma explains to Makoto that his bathroom door doesn't fit the frame.
Both use the same stock clock chime sound effect, which is iconic to players of both games.
Both have an in joke in the community regarding butter because of an iconic, absurd moment involving the substance (Exotic Butters, and Mondo butter)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both have a lot of dark humor, bizzare moments, fourth wall breaking, odd spin offs, weird anime moments, and tones that can range from light and goofy to dark and depressing. As a result of this clash in tone, both have become incredibly bizzare.
Both have crazy sci-fi elements that come out of nowhere.
The main two animals in both are a bear and a rabbit, in that order of significance.
One April fools day, r/fnaf and r/danganronpa collabed, with each temporarily becoming a sub dedicated to the other. Some people still have flairs from the other series on those subreddits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As r/deathbattlematchups can attest, there are a lot of odd similarities between William Afton and Junko Enoshima, enough that the entire community there became split about the match up, and it has become an iconic match up there "a legacy battle" even, just like Mario vs sonic or goku vs superman. A short version of these connections will be listed in a separate post. And yes the match up was supposedly acknowledged by the people behind death battle as "something they will consider". They are definitely aware of the match up.
Both had sequels that made their own series exist in universe.
Both have fanbases that are generally regarded negatively. Though as a fan of both, I do not necessarily agree or disagree with this assessment.
Both came out in the first half of the 2010's
Both have a well known Tumblr Sexyman (William Afton and Nagito Komaeda), enough so to both appear on the infamous Tumblr Sexyman poll. Afton only made it through the first round (though his opponent was Spamton and this was in 2022) and Nagito only made it to the second round. Both series also have a secondary Tumblr Sexyman in Michael Afton and Kokichi Ouma. Neither of which were on the poll but are still highly noteworthy, and both purple (Michael has purple skin, Kokichi has purple hair and eyes)
Each has a bazillion variants to their respective robot bears.
Both feature security cameras in almost every room as well as featuring monitors.
Simulated realities and artificial humans are common plot points.
Both have characters with a split personality where one side is homicidal and insane.
Toy bears with a video feed inside, that can be spoken through remotely by the primary villain who does so from a secret room within the main facility. Where have I heard that one before?
Faz-Coins (or Faz-Tokens, its gone by both names) and Mono-Coins. Both are even gold coins hidden around the environment with the mascots face emblazoned on them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Funtime Freddy and Monokuma are both two colored (one of the colors is white, and in the fourth closet funtime Freddy is black and white just like Monokuma) killer robot bears who are super high tech and have higher pitched voices. Monokuma has an over the top and deranged sense of humor and in one of the books we see the same as true in a version of Funtime Freddy.
Both Spike Chunsoft and Steel Wool Studios are both really only known for each respective title.
Both have a thing where in their communities, fan made games often with the same or better quality to the original product are commonplace.
Danganronpa hit an all time high on Google trends in 2021 in the U.S and around the same time Fnaf was the highest it had been since 2017 during its long and steep decline from its initial explosion in 2014. These events can be attributed to new releases made by both in 2021. With ultimate summer camp S being released in November, but getting its world wide release in December, and Fnaf Security breach also in December. In their home countries each also had a massive spike relative to their own position in 2023, with DR in January and Fnaf in October.
The fnaf movie plays out more like a detective thriller than horror movie, and Danganronpa is a series of murder mysteries. The initial trilogy of fnaf novels and the first Danganronpa light novel both also have this, and feature female protagonists who have a lot to do with what's going in, but aren't aware of it, have memory issues, and turn out to not be who they believe themselves to be.
Danganronpa has a tendency to take away characters memories, and Fnaf has a tendency to give characters looks into other people's memories or let memories linger in objects or places.
In both series, Agony and Despair respectively are both forces that can affect the mind, and spread like an infection. Its a bit more literally tangible in FNaF but DR focuses on it more so it balances out. This is the basis for one of the many aforementioned Afton and Enoshima connections: both are obsessed with the respective substance and its effects and view it as the strongest emotion (the fourth closet shows that Agony is the source of Aftons immortality, and other sources also support that most remnant that powers animatronics and haunted objects is very specifically Agony based. They are not completely separate.)
Back to back (or at least, with nothing in between the two on their community page), popular YouTube channel Dead Meat announced they were doing a Danganronpa kill count, then they streamed the first fnaf game, likely in preparation for the movie. I even made a post about it back on obsessedwithecho, which I reposted here.
Two popular Danganronpa based youtubers made videos where they got into FNaF and became full fnaf fans (SHSL Blaze, and then Weeby Newz). In both cases it was very popular relative to their other videos, and both were often titled, at least initially as "Danganronpa fan plays Fnaf" or something of the sort. It should be noted they are friends and Weeby was inspired to do so by Blaze, so it's not a coincidence this happened in both cases.
There are at least two, very high quality rap battles on YouTube that are "Monokuma vs Freddy Fazbear". Its rare to see two of the same match up unless the two characters often get compared. But they don't. And yet there's still two of them.
One of the most popular fnaf fan game series "Dayshift at Freddys" is a visual novel, just like Danganronpa is. (There's also a lot of other, older fnaf visual novel fangames, but those aren't as popular and were mostly dating sims and stuff)
In both series deaths that are highly bizzare, brutal, or both, are highly common. Here's a mixed list of examples from both, all from official materials, though excluding fnaf fanverse stuff. Unless you know at least one of these series well enough, it might be hard to distinguish which comes from which. Having your innards scooped out, turning into butter, turning into a kids at play sign, turning into a candy statue, being spahettified by a black hole and woven into undergarments, being crushed to death in a mascot costume while drowning in your own blood and being impaled from all angles, pummeled to death by rapid fire baseballs at machine gun levels of speed, burning alive, being hit by a truck, being burned alive then hit by a truck, stabbed to death with scissors and crucified, male pregnancy, being seasoned and then dipped in a volcano, being converted into a mass of genetically modified sea-monkeys, cancer, suicide by poison, being crushed to death underneath the floor of a ticket jumping machine, killed in the crossfire of a fight between two giant robot mascots, crushed by a trash compactor, round trip from earth to space, suicide by robot made solely to assist in said suicide, death by sharks, face eaten by a cupcake, brainwashed by a digital consciousness, stabbed from under a floorboard, face cut off by a guillotine paper slicer, forced to wear a mask with running buszzsaws inside,
There is a reference to the dish known as "eggs benedict" in both games. Though in one its a memorable joke and on the other its a throwaway remark. Here's the DR2 transcript for proof:
Tumblr media
Both have a bunch of comparisons to the Saw franchise as well, but not as overly specific and bizzare as these examples.
That's all for now. I'll post more examples later but for now I just want to get this post out its been in my drafts since before I made this sideblog. Lol.

Dragon Ball Super 131
Tumblr media
At last, we’ve reached the sweaty, beefy, Super Sheronny conclusion of the Dragon Ball Super anime.
Tumblr media
But don’t worry, because any day now they’re going to make Dragon Ball Super II, aka Dragon Ball 2uper.  Toei confirmed it, so we’re definitely going to see Crimson Super Shenron fight Morolah, the fusion of Moro and Granolah, in 2019.  I mean 2020.  I mean... 2021.  Wait, no, it’s definitely coming out in 2022.  No really, they’re bringing back the Shadow Dragons and Vegeta becomes a Destroyer God!  My uncle works at Nintendo, so you have to believe me waiiiiit!
Tumblr media
Last time, Jiren seemed to have Goku beaten, but then Frieza and 17 popped back up to defy him.  They saved Goku from being eliminated, and Jiren questions the purpose of this, since Goku’s so badly wrecked that he can’t even fight.  Frieza is disgusted by all this “trust” and “friendship” talk.  He just says it’s insurance.  After all, the numerical advantage may be all Universe 7 has.
Tumblr media
Still Frieza sees an opening, because Goku worked Jiren over really good before his body gave out.  Jiren’s nowhere near as strong as he was before, which means Golden Frieza might have a chance against him.  So this could work out after all.
Tumblr media
But Frieza overplays his hand by taunting Jiren.  He notes how he’s fighting a lot sloppier now, and suggests that it’s because Goku’s thrashing shook Jiren’s confidence.  He’s feeling weak now, like he did when he was a helpless kid.  That angers Jiren, so he...
Tumblr media
... stomps on his tail!  Yeah!
Tumblr media
And then he goes to town on Frieza’s face.  Very nice!  I’ve never been sold on having Frieza in this arc, but I can’t deny the advantage of the heel heat he brings to Universe 7′s team.
Tumblr media
But in spite of this predicament, Frieza’s still doing okay.  I guess Jiren was more worn down than I thought.
Tumblr media
Then 17 jumps Jiren with another energy blast, like he used on him before.  Jiren thinks he’s ready for him, but he’s not.
Tumblr media
This time, 17 puts up a force field around them.  Which I guess concentrates the attack?  I’m not sure why this helps, but it’s different from what 17 did last time, so that’s cool.
Tumblr media
And that seems to take the fight out of Jiren.  He collapses to his knees, and he seems to be knocked loopy.
Tumblr media
Frieza remarks that 17 took quite a gamble on that move, but 17 said he could afford the risk, since he knew Frieza could take over if things went wrong.  So Frieza’s part of this “trust” think whether he likes it or not.
Tumblr media
So it looks like Jiren’s really beaten this time.  Even Belmod begins to despair, and he tells Jiren that he did all he could.
Tumblr media
But Top hasn’t lost hope.  He does his best Krillin impression and begs Jiren to get back on his feet and keep fighting.  Top believes in Jiren, even if Jiren doesn’t.
Tumblr media
And that actually lights a fire under Jiren, and he taps into power he didn’t know he had left.  So now Jiren’s beginning to realize just what Goku was telling him about before.
Tumblr media
Jiren shoots a big blast at Frieza and 17, and they’re not strong enough to hold it back.  Golden Frieza powers down to Regular Frieza, so it seems like they’re doomed.
Tumblr media
Z stands for the end.  But not yet.
Tumblr media
Not yet.
Tumblr media
So Goku’s back on his feet, and 17′s like “How?” and Goku’s like “You’ve blown yourself up like two or three times.  You tell me.”
Goku wants 17 to hang back and provide support while Goku and Frieza double-team Jiren.  Frieza refuses to fight alongside Goku, but Goku insists.  They’re all too weakened to fight solo, so they have to play it this way.  It’s their only chance, and Frieza knows that.  Frieza reminds Goku of his promise to resurrect him after they win, and Goku assures him that he’ll honor their agreement, so Frieza decides to cooperate.   17 asks if they want to hug before they attack.  Frieza denies it, but I think we all know the answer is “yes”.  I mean, Goku’s always down for a hug, so there’s no point in asking him.
Tumblr media
So Jiren smiles and waits for their assault.  I’m not sure exactly why he’s so upbeat here, although it’s probably because he can settle things with Goku without that crappy finish they almost had in the previous episode.
Tumblr media
So they go to work.  And I suppose it’s time I talked about the insert song used throughout the Tournament of Power, “Kyuukyoku no Battle”, aka “Ultimate Battle”, by the band ZENTA, with lyrics by Akira Kushida.  It’s mainly used when Goku does cool stuff in Ultra Instinct, but it also gets used in multiple episodes, including this one, where UI is clearly off the table.  Sometimes it’s just an instrumental version, but in Episodes 110, 116, and 131, we get the vocals.
Here’s a live performace I found of the song, and it kicks ass.
youtube
My main gripe with the dub of DBS is that they replace the insert song with an English version performed by Elliot Coleman.  The English lyrics suck and Coleman’s no Fushida, let’s put it that way.  Ever since Episode 110 aired, I’ve been looking up this song on YouTube, and I’ve found plenty of covers that do it justice, and somehow Funimation got a lemon.  Oh well.
Tumblr media
Anyway, this entire final exchange fits within the song.  The animation’s awesome, the choreography is easy to follow, probably because everyone’s so weary that they can’t stop to do big light shows or too-fast-to-follow maneuvers.  Goku and Frieza are relentless, and 17 keeps bringing the pain with his ki blasts.
Tumblr media
Even so, Jiren’s not done yet.  So they keep on clubberin’.
Tumblr media
While he knocks them aside, Jiren goes after 17, and Frieza comes up with a plan.  He wants Goku to throw him at Jiren.
Tumblr media
Goku’s currently sliding down what’s left of the big column that used to sit in the center of the tournament stage, and he sets Frieza up like a volleyball.
Tumblr media
Then Frieza does the Nova Strike, aka that thing he did against Goku near the end of their fight on Namek, before he ran out of gas and cut himself in half.
Tumblr media
But it’s not a strike this time, it’s a grab.  Frieza’s trying to tackle Jiren and force him out of bounds.  Unfortunately, Jiren’s got enough werewithal to angle their descent to a ring fragment, saving himself and giving him a chance to knock Frieza loose.
Tumblr media
Bad news for Frieza, right?  Wrong, because here comes...
Tumblr media
Super Saiyan Goku!  Well, he’s not exactly Super Saiyan.  He just keeps flickering on and off, because he’s so spent.  I can’t capture that in stills, but let me assure you it’s awesome to see.  My guy’s just forcing himself to use whatever transformation he can manage.
Tumblr media
So it looks like all of these guys are flying, which I’m pretty sure they shouldn’t be able to do, since the anti-flying effect is still in place.  My guess is that they’re actually falling, but the camera angles are such that it’s hard to tell which way is down.  Anyway Frieza and Goku both hang on to Jiren for all they’re worth, and basically force him clear of the stage...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This looks like they’re shooting a ki blast at Jiren, but I’m pretty sure they’re just using their combined power to blast him down as hard and as fast as possible.  No more escape artist stuff, Jiren.
Tumblr media
And yeah, 17′s the only one left on the stage...
Tumblr media
Goku and Frieza get zapped to the bench.
Tumblr media
And so does Jiren.  The Grand Minister makes the official ruling, and the U11 group all begins to fade away.
Before they go, Top thanks Jiren on behalf of the whole gang, and Jiren is confused because (a) he lost and (b) he’s been ignoring the Pride Troopers this whole time, and pursuing his own agenda.
Tumblr media
Then Goku interrupts to tell him how much he appreciate their battle, and how he hopes to see Jiren again in the future.  Jiren smiles contentedly as he is wiped from existence.
Tumblr media
So that ends the Tournament of Power.  The only business that remains is summoning the Super Dragon Balls to award the grand prize.  And since 17 is the only one left in the ring, he’s the winner.
I guess this was the big thing with Frieza going along with Goku’s plan earlier.  Throughout this tournament, Frieza’s kind of been reluctant to work with the others, and that may be because he was aiming to earn the Super Dragon Ball wish for himself, in part because he didn’t trust Goku to honor their agreement.  But Frieza had to eliminate himself to get Jiren out of the ring, and he made the decision to abandon his Super Dragon Ball plan and just leave his resurrection up to Goku.
Tumblr media
So 17 gets his wish, but instead of asking for that cruise liner he mentioned before, he asks the Grand Minister to wish back all the universes that were erased in the tournament.
Tumblr media
A lot of people in the crowd are like “WHAAAA--?!” but I don’t get it.  I mean, what other wish could there be after something like this.  Are you telling me Roshi would have wished for porn after watching seven universes get annihilated?  I mean, Frieza wouldn’t care, obviously, but why is anyone else surprised?
Well, we need us some montage music, so here’s KISS with “God Gave Rock ‘N’ Roll To You II”!
youtube
Tumblr media
So we have this nice montage of everytone reappearing in their home univese.  Caulifla jumps on Kale and hugs her immediately, which is just like what the Yakuza do, don’t you know.  Incidentally, Frost is in this scene, just off to the left, so he got un-erased as well, even though he was penalized for trying to attack Frieza from the bench.
Tumblr media
Oh, fuck, Universe 10 is back, which means Gowasu’s reign of error can continue.
Tumblr media
Get bent, Gowasu.
Tumblr media
And Universe 4 is back...
Tumblr media
Universe 3 is back...
Tumblr media
U2 returns with a light and sound spectacular...
Tumblr media
And Universe 9 is back, but the joke’s on them, because Universe 9 is a shithole.  They probably liked it better when they were erased.
Tumblr media
And of course, U11 is back, and the pride Troopers are back on their world.  Or maybe this is Belmod’s planet, I have no idea.  Top asks Jiren what’s bothering him, and Jiren says that Goku wanted to see him again someday, but he’s got no aptitude for interpersonal relationships.   Top calls him a silly coward and reminds him that Jiren was inspired to power up when Top cheered him on.  Doesn’t that count for anything?   The Pride Troopers are Jiren’s friends, whether he knew it or not.
Tumblr media
Top said that they should meet U7 again, and next time they’re gonna win, and Jiren likes the sound of that.
Tumblr media
Back in the Null Realm, 18 seems really worried about 17 passing up the chance to get a sweet boat, but he says it’s fine.  He couldn’t just leave those poor universes to stay erased.  I mean, he’s a park ranger, so of course he should feel that way about it.  Goku thanks him for his wish, since I think it’s pretty clear that’s what he would have done, and Vegeta had the same idea earlier.  He’s not gonna thank 17, though, because he’s still mad about his sister breaking his arm that one time.
Tumblr media
Frieza finds this happy ending stuff grating, and asks Goku to escort him back to hell, but then Whis uses his staff to restore Frieza to life.  I guess he can just do that now?   Whis says it’s a gift from Beerus, to reward him for his performance during the Tournament.
Tumblr media
The Zenos hang out with Goku for a bit....
Tumblr media
And the Grand Minister reveals the true purpose of the Tournament of Power.  While no one else was expecting 17′s wish, the Zenos did.  They believed that the winner of the tournament would have the compassion to restore the erased universes, and the competition itself would drive the winner to that conclusion.  I guess that’s true enough.  17 was so indifferent about the whole thing at first.  Remember, when Goku first told him about the rules, 17 didn’t even care about his own universe getting erased, much less anyone else’s.
But if the winner had asked for any selfish wish, then that would have been a great condemnation of mortals, and the Zenos would have erased all twelve universes on the spot.  So Universes 1, 5, 8, and 12 were not truly exempt after all.
Tumblr media
The Zenos ask Goku what they should play next, and Beerus hastily makes an excuse to get them out of there before Goku starts any new crises.   Ah well.
Tumblr media
They share a hearty fistbump, and then it’s back to Earth.
Tumblr media
Everyone watches the sunrise on Earth, and it’s kind of nice of Frieza to behave himself during this.  I guess he knows he can’t pull any shit with so many guys around who can kill him.
Tumblr media
And then we move on to the end credits.  Goten and Trunks foiled some poachers while 17 was gone.  Good for them.
Tumblr media
Yurin got a proper uniform from Tien’s dojo.
Tumblr media
Buu’s still fucking asleep.
Tumblr media
And while most of the gang is celebrating Bulla’s birth, 17 sends pictures from his new cruise liner.
Tumblr media
Bulma just gave him the one she had back in Episode 4 or whatever.  Did she pay everyone the prize money Goku lied about?
Tumblr media
Frieza returns to his subjects.... although I’m not sure who these people are or where this is happening.  Most of his staff died in Res F, I would have thought.
Tumblr media
And Goku and Vegeta have a match together.  Vegeta challenges Goku to use his Ultra Instinct power again, but Goku can’t do it, and he isn’t sure why.    But they both resolve to keep getting stronger forever.  And that’s it, that’s the show.
I kept forgetting to make this point, but to sum up what makes the Tournament of Power so much better than the rest of Dragon Ball Super... The problem with the first 75% of this series is that it’s a lot of characters talking and talking, or speculating about things they don’t know or can’t control.     The show isn’t all bad, but a lot of the good parts are mired in padding and extended scenes of conversations that just don’t matter.
The Tournament of Power has a lot of talking as well.  I skipped over most of it for brevity’s sake, but almost every action scene is punctuated by the spectators discussing it at length.   But at least the focus is on the Tournament of Power, because the Tournament of Power is literally the only thing happening across those 35 episodes.  And since it’s only 48 minutes long, Toei can’t just cut to a scene of Mr. Satan doing something goofy, or Emperor Pilaf arguing with Jaco.
Simply put, the Tournament of Power lets the characters fight.  That sounds so obvious, but think about all the other episodes where fighting always seemed to be secondary.  The Destroyer Tournament was more about Beerus and Champa bickering than the action itself.  Goku Black would stab a dude, then start a whole lecture, and the lecture was supposed to carry all the dramatic weight.
You could do a whole movie or saga where it’s just Goku and Vegeta having a friendly match, or any other characters you like.  This show works that way, where fighting is the medium through which the stories are told.  So when you get stingy with the fighting, you’re removing one of the keys to the franchise’s success.  Fortunately, the Tournament of Power got it right, and it basically redeemed the entire series.
But as far as I’m concerned, if I ever rewatch Dragon Ball Super again, I’m just skipping straight to Episode 97.  There’s a machete cut I want to list out sometime, but I know 97-131 are a fun time, so why bother skipping around the rest?
Well, that’s it for the DBS anime, but the 2023 Apocrypha Liveblog isn’t done just yet.  I still have to catch up on the manga, and there’s a couple other things I need to look into.  So stay tuned for that.

Tumblr media
Those were the longest four months she’s ever had to deal with.
There wasn’t a specific date when the dragon balls would re-activate, and the vagueness of it frustrated her further. She resumed her life, going to and from work while dabbling in some of her hobbies in the meantime, but the apprehension never went away. It clung to her, in the form of memories that kept flashing in her mind and molding her dreams. She swore his face was burned into her vision, even when she closed her eyes.
She missed Vegito, obviously. But this…even she recognized how she yearned for him. She’s never had anyone she considered a genuine friend before, and if this yearning is what most people experienced when they lost a friend, she genuinely debated if her recluse lifestyle was actually saving her from a lot of heartache.
There was something different about it though. As days turned to weeks, and weeks slowly turned into months, she examined the emotions she was experiencing. She even did some searches for advice on the internet, since she was largely clueless on the matter and had no one around she felt she could get answers from.
She liked Vegito, this was true. But the realization that she was infatuated with him, drew all the air from her lungs.
She had to have been crushing on him. There was nothing else that explained how much he was in her thoughts, and how much she desired for him to be by her side. What’s more, is that it also explained why she’s just started fantasizing about him with increasing frequency. The littlest things made her think about the Saiyan.
While she’s sitting down on her couch and watching TV, she imagined Vegito next to her. It was then that she realized she had no idea what his favorite shows or movies were. Or if he even liked watching TV to begin with.
When she was out on walks, she imagined him tagging along with her. She wondered what his favorite kind of plants were. What his favorite type of weather was.
When she sorted through her large dresser for something to wear, she thought about how much extra space she had with the drawers she didn’t use. She didn’t know how much clothing Vegito owned outside of his usual get up, but she imagined he filling in those spare drawers with it.
When she settled down for the night and went to bed, she imagined he slipping in next to her. She falling asleep in his arms. That particular daydream set her heart on fire, and made it quicken into a pace that made her have to sit down.
She wanted him back.
She needed him back.
So, she checked the dragon radar at least once every day, especially after the general four month period was supposed to be up. The scan continuously picked up nothing, leaving the screen blank and her apprehension to keep spiking.
One morning, during the week she had off from her job, she checked it again.
The scan went. There was a ping. Seven tiny dots appeared on the screen’s grid, encircling the outer edges.
She’s never ran to grab her phone faster than she did in that moment.
                                                                                                             ༻ ❁ ༺
“Goku should be over there in the blink of an eye. Literally.”
“Thanks Bulma.”
She was immensely thankful the scientist thought to exchange phone numbers. She would’ve called Goku, but she remembered that she didn’t know the number of his house phone, or if he even had a cell phone. Additionally, she and Chi Chi still haven’t interacted since that day. It was all too possible that she would’ve picked up the phone instead of Goku.
Calling Bulma to relay the message to him was the best decision. The woman didn’t mind it either, having seemed a little excited herself. How funny, that she was now looking forward to seeing someone she thought she hated.
As patiently as she could, she waited for Goku to appear. The dragon radar was held tightly in her hand, and she sporadically pushed its knob to zoom out to the nearest dragon ball’s location on its grid. She didn’t quite know how to read the radar, so she didn’t know the exact distance away the ball was from her location, but it was somewhere to the northeast. Internally, she prayed it didn’t somehow disappear.
The anxiety soon became too much for she to stay seated, so she begun to pace around her living room. Fortunately, that was right when she sensed the air around her change.
“_____!”
Goku’s eyes were sparkling, as he dropped his hand from his forehead. His grin was infectious. Over his shoulder, he carried a sizable bag.
“Ready to go find some dragon balls?”
“…About that…” Recalling her lack of abilities, her excitement was dampened. She should’ve brought this up to him much sooner.
“We’ll…have to travel around the world, right? I can’t fly or anything.”
And it would be very impractical for he to carry her. Even if she took her hover car, there was no way it would be fast enough to remotely keep up with him too. Not only that, the planet was large and there was only so much her human body could do in one day before fatigue made her stop. It would be for the best for she to stay behind, surely…
“Don’t worry! I have something you can use that’ll fix all of that. It’s fast enough to not lag behind either.” Goku giggled, and gestured for her to move.
“Let’s go! I’ll show you it outside.”
She had no idea what he was talking about, but if it was possible for she to join him in this quest, she’d gladly take it. Vegito deserved the effort, and then some.
The both of them went out the front door, and she made sure to lock it behind her. She turned back to Goku, who looked up at the sky and cupped his hands around his mouth.
“FLYING NIMBUS!”
He shouted at the top of his lungs, and his voice echoed into the air. Mystified, she observed with a tilted head. Flying Nimbus?
Nothing happened right away, and for a second, she silently questioned if Goku was messing with her. However, her ears picked up on a particular sound that steadily grew louder. Her stare moved upwards, and she witnessed something yellow zooming towards the both of them, leaving a trail in the sky.
The yellow thing zipped down and slowed to a stop in front of Goku. Now that it was still, she saw that it was…a cloud. It looked fluffy and cotton-like almost, though it emitted strange puttering sounds similar to the engine of a car.
“This here’s my Nimbus cloud!” Goku turned around to face her, smiling. “I can’t remember if Vegito told you about it, but it’s what I used to get around when I was a kid since I couldn’t fly. Master Roshi gave it to me.”
“He…didn’t mention it, I don’t think.” She also couldn’t remember if he did. It’s been so long since she’s seen him.
She started walking towards him, keen on getting a closer look at the ethereal cloud. “So, I can ride this? It’ll hold my weight?”
“Sure it will! I don’t think anyone can be too heavy for Nimbus. The only rule is that you have to be pure of heart though, otherwise you’ll fall through it.”
“Pure of heart?” This made her pause.
“…I’m not pure of heart.”
“What makes you say that?” Goku tilted his head, squinting. “You seem plenty pure to me.”
“I…” Self-consciousness reared its ugly head. She fiddled with her hands.
“I don’t know. I just thought I was too mean of a person to be pure.”
At an early age, she became far too tired of how foolish people on Earth as a whole could be, and it’s made her into the loner she was today. She’s mouthed off to and insulted many people for just looking at her in a way she didn’t like, or for saying something stupid to her, throughout the years. People who are pure of heart don’t do that, in her opinion.
“There’s a lot of things that make someone’s heart pure, I think. I don’t know how to explain it, but I do know that just being nice to other people isn’t enough or even required. You need to have a certain mindset…a certain understanding, of the world. Of life itself.”
This felt like a lesson of some sort. Goku himself appeared to fall into deep thought over his words, but his head eventually shook as he refocused on the matter at hand.
“I think you do, _____. You just give me that feeling.”
“… … …” She couldn’t find any appropriate words to say in response.
“Instead of talking about it, let’s see if Nimbus thinks you’re pure.” He stepped to the side.
“Try getting on it.”
She didn’t have any other options. Besides, though she was confident she’d slip right through the cloud and her ass would crash onto the ground, she still wanted to see it through anyway.
The woman walked to the cloud, but at a closer proximity now, she saw that it was levitating some feet off the ground. It was too high for her to climb up onto, but luckily, she wasn’t the only one who noticed that.
“Upsy-daisy!”
Goku’s hands grabbed her hips with a gentle force, and lifted her like she weighed less than air. The feeling of it, and the sight of his bright smile made embarrassment twist her features. The exposed skin of her legs first contacted Nimbus’ wisps, and she noted how feathery-soft it felt.
The Saiyan placed her on the center of the cloud, and released his grip. With bated breath, she sat still as a statue on it, feeling the slight warmth it emitted slowly pool into her body.
Seconds passed…
… … …
…And she didn’t feel herself move at all.
“I knew it!” Goku laughed, pumping his fists. “And you said you were ‘too mean’!”
She kept her head down, bewilderment making her speechless. She pressed her hands into Nimbus’ airy fluff, and the cloud felt as solid as a firm pillow. If she was going to fall through it, she would’ve done so by now.
Frankly, she didn’t know what to make of this. Should she be…happy? This was something to be happy about, right? At the end of the day, it shouldn’t matter if some magical cloud judged her morality, but…
“Now that you can ride Nimbus, there isn’t anywhere on Earth you can’t go!” The Saiyan affectionately pat the cloud.
“Where’s the nearest dragon ball? No time like the present to get started.”
Thankful for the distraction, she shrunk the radar’s map again so Goku could see it.
“Northeast…ok! Here, you can hold onto the bag. We’ll put the dragon balls in here as we collect them.” He draped it over her shoulders, then rose into the air.
“Hold on! How do I control this thing?” She adjusted the bag’s strap and looked down at the puttering cloud.
“With your mind. Just think about where you want Nimbus to go, and it’ll go. It’s real easy!” Goku grinned down at her.
“Ok…”
‘Up, Nimbus. To the northeast, follow Goku.’
She said the command mentally, and sure enough, it moved with no delay. Not expecting the sudden motion, she froze and buried her nails in the cloud’s exterior, seeing the ground quickly growing smaller. Immediately, she was brought back to the time when she first technically flew. Though, instead of on a cloud, she was in his arms…
“There you go! Just like that.” Goku praised.
His ki flared to life, and she witnessed the Saiyan jet off. Nimbus, heeding her earlier command, went after him at a similar speed. The lack of a warning and the wind battering her face made her hunker down more into the yellow mass, desperately not wanting to fall or faint from shock.
She did crack open an eye, and saw that Goku was just ahead of her. They both were moving through the sky, with the white clouds drifting about having become blurs. Despite the high speed Nimbus was flying at, there was a surprising lack of disturbance outside of the wind ruffling her hair and clothes. The cloud stayed level, unaffected by whatever turbulence it encountered.
Curious, she peeked over Nimbus’ edge, and resisted the urge to flinch away at the sight of the far away ground moving. She had to have been miles up in the air. Having never flown in a plane or any other flying vehicle, this was an entirely new experience. It was almost dream-like.
Feeling more calm, she directed her attention back to the radar. The symbol that indicated her current location was now moving, and the dot for the dragon ball they were going after was getting closer to it. They were heading in the right direction, and this further calmed her down.
She was content to sit back and enjoy the flight. Spacing out, she thought back to the time Vegito carried her into the sky so they could watch the sunrise.
Hindsight told her that it was an…awfully romantic moment. Did Vegito intend for it to be? She wanted to think not, but judging by how intent he was and how soft he acted with her after the fact…there had to be something there. Especially because something snapped for him, and he left her alone and cold that same morning. Later when she discovered him at Capsule Corp, he told her it was because he realized whatever existed between them was changing, and he wasn’t sure if he could continue to stay at arm’s length…
He initially didn’t want to grow close to her. That didn’t offend her, as other than tolerating his presence, she had the same sentiment in the beginning. It seemed both their minds changed, after that day.
Was…it fate? Or was it nothing, that become something? Who could say. But here she was now, doing all of this for him, so he could have that chance to live the life he wanted. Whether she could be included in that life or not, remained to be seen.
She could only hope that he truly did feel the same way.
“_____!” Having been in a reverie, she missed how Goku moved to where he was flying alongside Nimbus.
“How close are we now?”
On the radar, the dot was now almost on top of her cursor. She zoomed in to get a more accurate view.
“From the looks of it, we’re within a mile of it. I think it could be down there?”
She urged Nimbus to slow down, and pointed down to a valley they were approaching.
“Let’s go down and get a better look then!”
She followed Goku’s lead. The valley was exceptionally beautiful, composed of a lush green field parted by a river with many mountains looming about. If only she brought a camera.
They slowed down to better follow the radar’s map. It begun beeping at a rapid pace when they neared a group of trees, signaling that they were virtually within feet of the dragon ball. She narrowed her eyes and scanned the scenery, though she didn’t see an orange orb anywhere.
Goku thought to search the treetops, and it proved to be the correct decision.
“Found it!” He hovered down to the ground, with the object held in his hand. The sunlight reflected off of it, highlighting its orange hue and the red stars within it.
“It’s the four-star ball too.” Goku stared fondly down at it. “My grandpa used to keep this, as a special treasure.”
“Your grandpa?”
“Yeah, Grandpa Gohan. He raised me, after I came to Earth when I was a baby.”
Vegito did mention something about that, but not in a lot of detail. She knew little about the old man, but it was clear that Goku cared a lot about him.
“Sounds like he was a nice man.”
“He was great. If he was still alive, I’m sure he would’ve loved to meet you _____.”
The reminder that a loved one was dead would’ve surely put a damper on someone’s mood, but his smile didn’t lose any of its strength. Quietly she scolded herself; Goku must’ve come to terms with his grandfather’s passing long ago. If he didn’t dwell on it, then she shouldn’t either.
It was very sweet of him to say that Gohan senior would’ve enjoyed meeting her though. Goku apparently thought so highly of her…but, considering he and Vegeta used to be joined as Vegito, should that come as a shock?
“Anyway, that’s one ball down. And in good time! If we keep it up, we can gather the rest before the day’s over.”
Goku handed the dragon ball to her, and she took the opportunity to study it. This was the first time she’s seen one of these things up close, and because of what they – or Shenron rather – was capable of, part of her was surprised that the orbs weren’t more popular than being simple legend.
But, Vegito told her why. Bulma’s dragon radars were the only devices on the entire planet that could sense them, and she was extremely strict about not revealing the blueprints on how they were made to anyone; not even her close associates at Capsule Corp. Plus, many people in different parts of the world either didn’t believe or didn’t know they existed. That was definitely for the best.
She tucked the orb into the bag, as Goku asked where the next nearest ball was. Minutes later, they were flying off into the sky again, going west.
                                                                                                             ༻ ❁ ༺
The sun was near the horizon, when they finally collected the final dragon ball. With all seven in tow, she and Goku traveled to Capsule Corp. On the way there, that anxiety she was brimming with earlier in the day returned with a greater intensity. When West City came into view, nausea made her stomach turn. She wished she had the enthusiasm Goku had.
“This’ll work _____. Don’t worry!”
One of his hands slammed her shoulder in an attempt to give a consoling pat, but because of his strength, it made her almost fall over onto the magical cloud.
“Whoops! Sorry.” Goku chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. She huffed, sliding off of the cloud and fixing the man with a half-hearted glare.
“Thanks for all your help, Nimbus.”
Goku dismissed the cloud, and it soared away, disappearing into the sky’s changing hues.
She moved to walk into the Capsule Corp building, but was stopped by the Saiyan.
“I wanted to let you know, that you can ride Nimbus whenever you want. Just shout its name, and it’ll come to you.”
“Really? Uh, thanks…” She blinked, feeling heat creep up her skin. “Why grant me that though?”
“Why not?”
Goku asked in return, beaming in a way that screamed innocence, before he made his way into the building. She was greatly flattered, and grateful for his kindness. Having access to something that could fly and required no fuel of any sort was useful, though she doubted it would be a good idea to use Nimbus to travel to work or anything like that.
When she caught up to Goku, he was speaking to Bulma near the front entrance.
“Great job. You can summon Shenron out in the back, whenever you’re ready.” The scientist addressed her when she approached. Her grip on the bag tightened. Within it, the dragon balls were flashing slowly in a rhythmic pattern, and it spurred her to get the show on the road.
“I’ll do it now. I can’t wait any longer.”
“I understand.”
Bulma nodded, and they all started down a hall to where the summoning occurred last time. The spot where the wish was made to undo the fusion…this wish would be made to bring him back together. It was poetic.
…Speaking of wishes, there was something she was honestly confused by.
“By the way. Bulma? How do you get away with summoning the dragon here, right in the city? Doesn’t it attract attention?”
“It does. But I came up with the excuse that Capsule Corp is working on developing a hologram of a dragon for a cinema project, and the public ate it up.” The bluenette shrugged her shoulders. She stared, in disbelief.
“Seriously? People believed that?”
“You’d be surprised, at how many people are easy to fool. It helps that hardly anyone alive today knows what the mythical dragon of wishes looks like. Shenron’s basically hidden in plain sight here.”
“Hm.” That was painfully convenient, but she would let it go. She heard Goku snicker, amused by her skepticism.
When they turned a corner, they were met with Trunks and Goten, who skid to a stop before them.
“Mom! …_____? Did you get the dragon balls?” The purple-haired boy asked. He and Goten held similar expressions of curiosity.
“Goku and I did, yeah.”
“Cool!” Goten grinned, and ran over to cling to his father’s trousers.
“Will we get to see Vegito again for real, Daddy?”
“We’ll have to wait and see.” He ruffled the boy’s hair.
They all resumed walking, with each of the boys chatting with their respective parent, leaving her to ruminate.
As much as she tried to fight it, fear slowly crept up from the pit of her gut. It was entirely possible that there wouldn’t be anything Shenron could do. The last time she was with him, when he told her that he would see her later, could’ve been the true last time she would ever see him again. Until she spoke her wish, she was caught in this state of unknowing. She hated it. She wanted to go forward, but at the same time, she was…terrified of what lied before her.
What if it actually didn’t work? Vegito…he was gone, for good as far as she knew. That felt so surreal, so cruel, that it couldn’t possibly be the truth. But, she’s gone through surreal, cruel events before. Perhaps this wouldn’t be any different.
She felt like throwing up, when they reached the outdoors area. On auto pilot, she took the dragon balls out of the bag and put them onto the pavement, as the others watched. Stepping back, she breathed in and out, attempting to quell the unease shaking her hands.
It’s now or never.
“Arise…Eternal Dragon.”
She spoke the command, but in a hushed tone. It worked nonetheless.
The orbs ceased their flashing and lit up simultaneously, before a massive burst of light shot from them and up into the sky, that grew darker than the nighttime that had already started to fall. Having never observed the dragon emerging from the orbs before, her worry was temporarily forgotten as awe washed over her features. The trail of light writhing and twisting around like a dancing serpent was such a stunning display.
When it ceased movement, the light dispersed, and left a green, antlered dragon floating in the sky. His glowing, stark-red eyes zoned in on her.
“You who have summoned me. I will grant you any three wishes that are within my power.”
His voice echoed, igniting the fear in her and setting her nerves aflame. With a quivering arm, she wiped away the sweat that welled on her forehead. An inferno burned, and she felt as if she would crumble into ash.
“S-Shenron.” She voluntarily raised her voice until she felt she was shouting, but even then, it sounded too quiet to her own ears. Face-to-face with the dragon like this, she felt incredibly small. Insignificant. The void within Shenron’s gaze was a grim reminder of reality itself, and she was entirely at its mercy now.
It didn’t stop her from announcing her desire, with about as much conviction as she could muster.
“I wish for Vegito to be brought back to life as his own person, separate from Goku and Vegeta, with his memories intact.”
Her words faded away into the air. There was silence.
… … …
… … …
… … …
“…Your wish is within my power.”
The breath she was unconsciously holding in, rushed out of her lungs with the force of a small gale. The blaze within her petered out. The atmosphere that befell the area dissipated, as vocalizations and expressions of relief sounded off from those behind her.
“However-”
Shenron resumed speaking, and her attention was completely re-captured.
“To essentially recreate and give a body to the Potara fusion of Goku and Vegeta will take all of my power. You will not be able to have a second or third wish granted.”
“That’s fine.”
She responded with no hesitation. It was such a meager consequence, that it was utterly dwarfed by what mattered the most here.
“Very well.”
The glow of his eyes heightened into a powerful radiance that made her draw back. She detected something intangible around herself change.
The air was shifting, and behind her, she caught the ki that had started to shine from Goku and Vegeta – the latter she just now noticed had joined them outside. The two Saiyans looked on in silent confusion, before they winced, as if they had been stricken with an unpleasant feeling. The aura stretched from their bodies and reached in streaks in front of her, before Shenron, and met to begin forming a mass of energy.
It was like the Saiyans’ essences were feeding it, as it grew larger and larger. Minutes passed, before the aura left the two and became completely integrated into the mass, as it stretched and twisted to form a humanoid shape.
Sparks danced and shot from it in a display that made her shield her face, but she took in how unmistakable features of it materialized.
Spiky hair…
Bangs…
A tail…
The chaos calmed, and in its wake stood the person who plagued her thoughts.
His expression was blank, soulless, but the spark of life immediately shot through his eyes and had him become animated. He rapidly blinked, and brought a gloved hand up to his face.
“Your wish has been granted. Farewell.”
Shenron departed, and the new figure turned to watch him fade back into the dragon balls, that flew upwards and shot into opposing directions in the brightening sky after.
He turned back to the group of people that stood before him, appearing absolutely perplexed.
“W-What…what is this…?”
Vegito’s eyes darted from Goku and Vegeta, instinctively zeroing in on them. Her heart lurched when he spoke, as he sounded different from what she remembered. There was no longer the voices of the two who made up him speaking in unison; instead there was a singular voice that struck a balance between them. He sounded ordinary.
“This woman here,” Vegeta began, gesturing towards her.
“Used the dragon balls to revive you.”
“Yeah!” Goku joined, flashing a grin full of wonder and excitement. “Welcome back Vegito!”
He stared at them, confused beyond belief, but he did turn his gaze towards her. Their eyes met, and water sprung up in her own. He maintained his shock, but seconds later, recognition flooded his stare. His face shifted in a way that made tears streak down her cheeks.
“_____...?”
He asked in sheer disbelief, and her initial response was to run towards him.
“Veggie!”
The nickname shot from her mouth without she thinking about it, and her face was buried into the fabric of his gi on his chest as her arms flew around his torso to hug him tightly.
“I missed you!”
She sobbed, though it was muffled. There was a pause, then she shivered when two muscled arms returned her embrace and pressed her more into his warmth. The tips of his fingers dug into the fabric of her shirt, and he nuzzled her head, burying his nose into her hair.
Peace she’s never known until now blanketed her mind, in that exact moment. She bathed in his presence, and got fleetingly lost in the sound of his heart beating. It grounded her, but also sent her spiraling into a trance where she felt like she was floating skyward in bliss. All of her previous fears melted away.
It took a gust of wind to bring her brain back to full focus. She wondered how the two of them appeared to everyone watching them right now, but the thrill of the moment swiftly got rid of that concern.
“It’s good to see you, Vegito.”
Bulma spoke, and while she couldn’t see her, the genuine delight in the woman’s voice was a good indicator as to how she was feeling.
“…It’s good to be back.” His breath blew past her scalp, voice taut with a mix of emotions. It made more tears fall, especially the one emotion that was stronger and more easily discernable from the rest. He sounded so happy.
“…Now…if you’ll excuse us.”
One of his arms moved to press under her rear and hoist her up, so her chin was resting on his shoulder. Sensing what was coming next, she held onto him, as he rose into the air before blasting off in a burst of speed with she nestled against him. The exhilaration of the act had her involuntarily laugh, as Capsule Corp and West City shrunk into the horizon.
He touched down in front of her house, and placed her onto her feet. She fixed her hair to get it out of her face, just as she was staggered by Vegito removing a glove from one of his hands and cupping her cheek. The callousness where smooth material would normally be had her intake a deep breath of air, as Vegito looked deeply into her eyes.
He was smiling, unrestrained. Taking in his handsome features once again, after so long, made electricity shoot down her spine and pool in her abdomen. Before she could say a single word, he leaned down and pressed his forehead to hers. His bangs curled against and stroked her skin, leaving it tingling.
In her shoes, her toes curled. Her fingers dug into his blue gi, not wanting to release it anytime soon.
It was quiet. Night had fallen, leaving the surrounding area dark and bathed in a peaceful atmosphere. Eyes closed, she relished in the feeling of being with Vegito once again. Her Saiyan.
“…So. You missed me, huh?”
She huffed, both amused and not surprised by the teasing question. Yep, this was Vegito alright.
“Yes, I did.” She was in too far of a good mood to try hiding her sentimental feelings, and not give him more ammo he would use to tease her further. He could have all the ammo he wanted, and she was put more under his spell as she felt his hand leave her cheek and travel to the back of her head, where his palm rubbed her scalp.
“How long was I out for?”
He referring to his erasure as something casual like he merely being unconscious, really pushed home the fact that he was truly here.
“Around five months in total.”
“Sheesh. That’s almost half a year.”
Vegito was being so light-hearted with this, that she wanted to cry again. She couldn’t resist allowing a few more tears to slip out, but he seemed to sense this, as his hand dropped from her head.
She opened her eyes in time to see him slightly pull away, so he could wipe her tears away with a level of delicateness she was surprised by. He regarded her with the same soft smile he had back on that special morning, but this time, nothing disrupted it. The warrior didn’t speak again, but just by what his eyes were revealing to her, she could tell that there was a lot more he wanted to say.
She wanted to say more as well. But, all of that could wait. She wanted to enjoy this peace, before just what the two of them were now was brought up for discussion. That likely will require serious consideration she was too content and tired right now to be capable of.
Vegito tugged her closer, and they embraced again. When she felt his tail come up to brush against her lower back, she had a good feeling about what was in store for them both.

(if you haven't already answered this before:) how did you get into Ina11 and made you make this blog for it?
I dont think I've answered this before either (correct me if im wrong though). This goes under the cut like all of my long answers to personal asks...
For some context (this is relevant to my relationship with anime and fandom), I used to be nonverbal for the good 11-12-ish years of my life until I was traumatized out of it so now I'm semiverbal ((with like auditory hallucination, anxiety (general and social), depression, ptsd, etc)). I won't tell anything regarding this experience.
It's not really uncommon for Filipinos my age and older to be into anime because this is everything that the afternoon and morning television have for you. You would know naruto, goku, luffy, etc against your will and I was not immune to that. During that time also cable was really common (and was not paid per fucking channel, that started a few years later though) so I used to watch a lot of anime in Hero TV, Animax Ph, Cartoon Network PH, etc i dont remember the others.
I found inazuma eleven and other anime on one of them and got into it immediately (also because of my trauma) but because some personal things have to happen, I started watching all the anime I got into that time on illegal sites instead.
I was not an internet person and i cant get into chats because of the experience I've mentioned above so even though i like anime and have been reading every fanfiction about my fav shows that time and were even writing some of my own (mostly fairy tail and dbz but all are now deleted or orphaned), I never tried to get into any fandom (I am aware of how fandoms are because i had a personal twitter that i only use for rts that time but i never engaged because they were big fandoms who have... issues)... this was all until the pandemic happened.
After the pandemic, it was like people can understand my experiences suddenly and it made me feel like there are safe spaces now for me to be in so somewhere in 2021 I created a fandom tumblr and twitter account at the same time. Tumblr was overwhelming for me initially so I stayed in twitter (this is during my Encanto phase so my twitter has a small following even right now from that small fandom)... it was a so and so experience but it is my first so it was made better because of that small welcoming fandom...
A bit after that, I got into the naruto and dragon ball fandom which was a big mistake because it made me picked up some toxic feelings and even behaviour that I do not want. I tried learning tumblr more and decided that I'll stay here at the moment. I realized that the dragon ball fandom here actually have nicer people and are more mature and critical while being respectful of others so I enjoyed my tumblr stay!! I made a lot of dragon ball posts that gave me great tumblr mutuals that I still talk to to this day even after my dragon ball brainrot is gone.
Before 2022 ended, I needed a break because of some personal matters. I got into inazuma eleven again during this time after rewatching galaxy (i wanted to be inspired by their alien character designs but it had a different effect). It sparked my love for the series and made me reopen some old concepts and fanfic ideas I had for it before (this includes the vent fic I mentioned once where Kidou was evil, Endou was dead, Gouenji was a pediatrician, and Aki was the leader of a rebellion against kageyama's reign with Fudou by her side). And then, I started writing new ones nonstop for about 4 months (80k words for two different fanfic series btw that are both unfinished).
I started following some inazuma eleven blogs in May this year until I feel like I needed to make posts myself at about the start of June. The fandom had the encanto vibe to me with a cross to how old fandoms feel so it was really nice to be here!! And the rest is history ig?? hehe
Sorry for the really long answer and thanks for the ask!

Gohan Black AU - Incomplete WIP
So, I do want to make a separate post with the entire plot summary/outline for anyone interested to know, but in the meantime, here is what I'd gotten down so far for the start of it! This was started in October 2021, which feels like forever ago now.
This AU idea is dark, angsty, hurt/comfort galore due to PTSD Trunks and Cell, and has the OT3: Gohan/Trunks/Cell. I wrote a brief scene between Gohan Black and Cell that shows some of the brutality of Black, but I'll save that in a separate post too 😊
****
Altering the timeline was always a risk, but Trunks knew it was only a necessary one to take when things were most desperate. The first time was necessary for Goku to live; the next was defeating the androids, which didn’t go at all according to plan due to his initial manipulation of events. Instead of androids 17 and 18 posing a threat, it was Cell. But once Gohan defeated the latter, things were looking up for the future when he returned and was able to destroy each one of Gero’s creations in his own timeline. It was peaceful. The world rebuilt. Humanity pressed on and survived for several years.
Until him.
Believing the situation too dire to ignore and leave to fate, Trunks once again ventured back to ask for help. Upon arrival, he immediately felt nostalgic. Not much had changed, and it resembled the period of tranquility he had known for seven years after ridding the planet of the androids. He couldn’t restore his timeline this time on his own. He needed assistance from the most powerful warrior he knew.
“Trunks!” Bulma exclaimed happily as she rushed outside to find out the source of engine noise in the front yard. She nearly tackled him to the ground from running to hug him.
“Hey mom,” he greeted with a small laugh.
“It’s so good to see you! You’ve grown. And your hair!”
“Yeah, gone through some changes, you could say.”
“You’ve grown a lot in this timeline too! Little You is off playing with Goten right now, but I know he’ll be excited to meet you when he gets home.”
“Goten, huh?”
“Yes! Chi-Chi had him not long after you left. They’ve been pretty much inseparable ever since. And then Gohan being a big brother to you both,” she ended with a smile.
The mention of his mentor’s name instantly sent his heart into a flutter. “Speaking of Gohan, is he around? I need to talk to him.”
“He should be in school at the moment. I imagine he’ll swing by on his way home to see if Goten and Little You are here. It’s become a habit.”
“Ah great.”
“That’ll give us a chance to catch up! Lord knows where your father is right now, but he’ll be back in time for dinner.”
As she ushered her grown son inside, the butterflies of anxiety were beginning to mix with those of delighted anticipation to once again be face to face with Gohan. While he had connected and bonded with his mentor in the future, he felt an even stronger connection with him after spending time together in the lead up to the Cell Games. Gohan, whether as a pre-teen or adult, held an enormously special place in Trunks’ heart, one of deep respect and beloved friend. To be reunited with him, even if it was only for a few days, was something he would greatly cherish.
****
It was late afternoon when the front door burst open and childish laughter filled the area.
“Sounds like they’re home!” Bulma explained, getting up from the table. Trunks followed suit, and they both headed into the living room to discover two young boys running around the furniture and a teenage boy chasing them.
“Hey guys! We have company!”
The three stopped and turned, and the moment Trunks met Gohan’s eyes, he felt an instantaneous rush of admiration and affection for the now twenty-year-old Saiyan fighter. Even as Bulma introduced him to his child-self and Goten, Trunks was paralyzed as Gohan approached with the brightest smile he had ever seen.
“Good to see you, Trunks!” Gohan said chipperly. “What brings you back?”
“Well, I….” Trunks felt embarrassed for his inability to formulate a proper sentence. “I um….I need your help. Can we talk outside?”
Gohan, catching the underlying seriousness yet completely missing the other reason for the awkwardness, nodded and said, “Sure!”
“Hey mom, we’re going to take a walk. Be back in a bit.”
“Okay! Just make sure you’re back in time for dinner. Gohan, are you and Goten staying?”
“Nah, mom wants us home tonight,” Gohan replied with a smile. “I’ll be back to pick you up, Goten!”
The two kids had already returned to chasing one another, so it was no surprise Goten didn’t acknowledge the statement.
Heading into the front yard and strolling down the street to a nearby park, Gohan waited a minute before starting the conversation.
“Everything okay?”
“Not exactly.” “Don’t tell me more androids.”
“No, luckily no more androids. I was able to get rid of them and Cell before he could cause any real trouble.” He failed to notice the slight tenseness Gohan suddenly had at the mention of Cell’s name. “Things were really nice after that. Everyone rebuilt and the world was thriving….”
“But?”
They sat on a bench and Trunks clenched his hands into fists. The abrupt change in his mood severely worried Gohan.
“But then he came.”
Gohan quirked an eyebrow. “He?”
“It’s….You.”
This made Gohan’s eyes widen considerably. “Me?!”
“Not you exactly, but someone who looks just like you when you were my mentor and fighting to keep us safe from the androids. He calls himself Black, and he’s pure evil. He’s already destroyed countless planets, and now he’s come to Earth to slowly cleanse it of us mortals. That’s why I’ve come here again. To ask you for help. He’s stronger than anyone I’ve ever seen, far stronger than Cell. I knew if there was anyone who stood a chance against him with me, it’d be you.”
Gohan looked down at his hands nervously, the weight of the words sinking in. He’d been keeping up with regular training; however, if this person was enough to have Trunks this desperate again and wielding a higher power level than what Cell had, he doubted even his own abilities. Still, he couldn’t deny helping a friend in need.
“What do you need me to do?” he asked quietly.
“My mom still has Cell’s old time machine, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Since we both can’t fit into mine, I need you to take that one to come with me.”
“She hasn’t repaired it, though. It’s not functional.”
“Damn it,” Trunks cursed, gritting his teeth.
“I’m sure she could fix it up no problem. But it may take some time. Plus, if he’s as strong as you say, I feel like I might need to do some additional training.”
“Okay….I can probably hold him off for a few more months. That should be plenty of time, right?”
“Right.”
“I can leave the coordinates with you for when you’re ready since I might not make it back.”
“Just don’t die in the meantime, okay?” Gohan teased and playfully punched his shoulder to lighten the mood.
Trunks blushed slightly and smiled. “Yeah, of course.”

Since I have now had a confirmed concussion (November of 2021) I feel that I should capitalize on my experiential knowledge and write a one shot during the Android Training Period wherein Goku hits Piccolo hard enough in the head to cause some temporary hilarity as Piccolo loses his filter for the better part of a day.

I beat Pokemon Brilliant Diamond! I borrowed it from a library. Before then, I played it using a profile on a digital copy of someone else's Switch. I felt my plan to borrow a physical copy from my library was convoluted.
My team is under the cut:
First was Goku, the Infernape I started with. His Nature is Quirky (one of the neutral natures), which also means that he doesn't have a favorite or disliked flavor of Poffin. His characteristic is that he's capable of taking hits, meaning that his highest IV is in physical Defense and that it's 1, 6, 11, 16, 21, 26, or 31. His final moveset is Flame Wheel, Power-Up Punch, Flamethrower, and Taunt. I did nothing with contests. All of my team members have at least two ribbons, those being the Sinnoh Champion Ribbon and the Effort Ribbon since I maxed out their EVs. Since he's not from Pokemon Home, he has Blaze as his ability.
Second was Manaphy, which I got from the Manaphy egg event on that other person's Switch. Its Nature is Serious (another neutral nature). The egg claims to have come from "a lovely place" on December 30th of 2021, the same day the egg hatched in Floaroma Town. Its characteristic is that it's alert to sounds, meaning that its highest IV is in Speed and it's 1, 6, 11, 16, 21, 26, or 31. Its final moveset is Tail Glow, Scald, Charm, and Water Pulse. Being a Manaphy, its ability is Hydration.
Since I connected Brilliant Diamond to Pokemon Home, I got Hidden Ability Sinnoh starters. Since I already had a Chimchar, I just used Piplup and Turtwig, both of whom are fully evolved by now. Both of them also have the Classic Ribbon in addition to the Sinnoh Champion and Effort Ribbons, the former of which prevents them from being traded over the GTS or Wonder Trade.
My Torterra is named Discworld. His summary screen claims he traveled across space and time to join me from Pokemon Home, where he met his original trainer (who I also named "Duscara" like the trainer in Brilliant Diamond) in a fateful encounter. His Nature is Adamant, which buffs physical Attack but lowers Special Attack (and it also makes his favorite flavor Spicy and his disliked flavor Dry). His characteristic is that he likes to thrash about, meaning that his highest IV is in physical attack and that it's 1, 6, 11, 16, 21, 26, or 31. His final moveset is Razor Leaf, Curse, Crunch, and Earthquake. The Hidden Ability of at least Torterra is Shell Armor, which renders him immune to critical hits.
My Empoleon is named Bonaparte , but I accidentally added a space when I was typing it on my phone. It took me too long to realize that, but I'm keeping it because it's funny. His nature is Modest, which raises his Special Attack but lowers his physical Attack. That nature also makes his favorite flavor Dry and makes him dislike Spicy food. His origin is the same as that of Discworld. His characteristic is that he's mischievous, meaning that his highest IV is in Special Attack and that it's 1, 6, 11, 16, 21, 26, or 31. His final moveset is Flash Cannon, Ice Beam, Brine, and Aqua Jet.
From that same person, I got the Riolu and Happiny eggs, so now I have a Lucario and a Blissey.
The Lucario is named HerlockBones (a combination of Herlock Sholmes from Ace Attorney and Sherlock Bones from Wizard101). I wanted a name that had to do with dogs, okay? Anyway, his nature is Adamant, which I won't repeat listing the effects of. He's also mischievous. The egg was traded to me on June 16th, 2023 and I hatched him in the Grand Underground. His final moveset is Shadow Claw, Swords Dance, Aura Sphere, and Bone Rush, the latter of which was the final move I used on Cynthia's final Pokemon (her Garchomp) after I stalled it and her Milotic out. His ability is Inner Focus, which renders him immune to flinching.
The Blissey is named Gordo after Gordo Slimes from Slime Rancher. She has a Bold nature, which raises her physical Defense at the cost of her Physical Attack (though both of those are bad for Blissey) and makes her favorite flavor Sour and her disliked flavor Spicy. I received her egg the same day as the Riolu egg and she hatched in Eterna City on Juneteenth 2023. Her characteristic is that she's highly curious, meaning that her highest IV is in Special Attack and that it's 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30. Her ability is Serene Grace, which makes additional effects of attacks more likely. Her final moveset is Minimize, Covet, Dazzling Gleam, and Fling because the strategy I had planned her to use on the Elite Four was steal their items and fling them back at them... especially when I realized that I couldn't keep anything I stole. The plan did not work even though I beat the Elite Four and Cynthia on my first try.

Nanwum VII Update: 80,026
I feel like I've posted too many of these, but what the hell. A few more won't hurt.
Before this year, my all-time best NanoWriMo was in 2021, where I managed to reach 72,485. I blew past that milestone a few days ago, and I've still got ten days left before the end of the month, so 100k seems pretty likely now.
I'm a little stuck going into week four, because the big project for this event was to write the Luffa vs. Goku fight that I've been looking forward to for years, but that's pretty well wrapped up now. I got to the very end of that business and realized that I now had to write a scene that did not involve Luffa and Goku beating the crap out of each other. I'm finally past that point. I mean, I still need to edit and post the thing, but you get the idea.
Of course, I still have ideas and story beats left to write, but I've been trying not to invest too much time thinking about that material, so it's not very well organized. So I'm going to have to adjust, and that's going to slow me down.
Eight years ago, the fight would have been the finale of the fic. I would have sent Goku back home, done a few epilogue scenes, and that would have been that. So it's important to me to have made it this far, because this still feels like a good "stopping point" for the story. It's like when a TV show does a season finale that *could* be the series finale because they don't know if they're going to be renewed or not.
But somewhere along the way I accumulated enough post-Xenoverse ideas that I wanted to keep this thing going. I toyed with the idea of making that into a sequel, but I think I prefer just making it one really long story. It's surreal to me that I can finally follow through on that decision.

SUMMARY: Majin Buu has been destroyed, and the Earth has known peace for close to a year now. Life hasn't been too peaceful for the person responsible for saving the world and the entire universe however, but when an ordinary woman meets him one day, things start to change.
RATING: Teen and Up. PAIRING(S): Vegito x OC/Reader, alluded Gochi, alluded Vegebul CONTENT: Canon Divergence, Slow Burn, Friends to Lovers, Family Drama CW(s) THIS CHAPTER: None.
Tumblr media
She had to make another delivery to Dr. Brief. This was the perfect opportunity.
It’s been long enough, almost two weeks. Surely Bulma would’ve settled in nicely with Vegeta again by now, so there wouldn’t be much of a risk of igniting the scientist’s anger if she showed her face. Theoretically.
She had to take it either way. She wanted Vegito back, more than anything, and that dragon radar was a must to have. It would’ve been far more logical to have Goku get it for her like he offered to, but she needed to step up here. She felt that she owed it to Vegito.
~
This time, Dr. Brief was waiting for her. She entered the building, toting an even larger stack of folders than last time. The CEO was standing by the front desk, and ceased his discussion with the employee there when she approached.
“Ah, thank you my dear! You and your department make my life so much easier.” The man smiled. The small black cat on his shoulder mewled, and her somber mood lessened at the cute sound.
“It’s no problem, sir.” She cleared her throat. She didn’t know where the woman was in the building, and she’d rather not waste time wandering around, so she took her chance here.
“If I may ask, is Bulma in today? I need to speak with her.”
“Yes, she’s in. I can take you to her office.”
“That would be great, thank you.” She’s thankful he didn’t question why she needed to talk to his daughter, but since she had the position she did, he likely assumed it was related to business.
Dr. Brief led her down a series of halls, going past the familial quarters and deeper into the rest of the structure. As they walked, with she keeping a close but loose distance from the doctor, her mind reeled.
Bulma telling her no would be the worst end to this. If she really wanted to go that route, she could ask Goku to take the radar from her anyway, but what good would that do in the end? He was one of her closest friends to boot, maybe he would take offense at she suggesting to go against the woman’s words. Maybe Bulma would try to punish her via legal means to top it off, and that was a headache she did not want in the slightest.
When Dr. Brief led her to the door of his daughter’s office, and left her standing there, she tried to calm her racing heart.
*knock knock*
A balled hand gently struck metal, and she waited with bated breath.
“Come in.”
A feminine voice called from the other side. Not wanting to let her anxiety freeze her solid, she immediately opened the door.
Blue eyes made contact with hers, and their owner went stiff.
“Hi.” She spoke, though the strain in her tone was blatant. “Hope you aren’t busy right now, because I need to talk to you.”
“…About what?”
Bulma’s response was tense, but it lacked hostility, something she was grateful for.
“Your dragon radar. I need it.”
“Why?”
The scientist asked in a raised tone of voice. She could see that the blue-haired woman surely became suspicious now, as her stare harshened into a glare. She stepped further into the room to partially close the door behind her, just in case Bulma started shouting.
“I want to use the dragon balls to wish Vegito back. As his own person.”
She quickly added in the latter sentence, knowing that implying she wanted to refuse Goku and her husband would’ve surely set her off. Her hunch was right, as she did see the spike of fury in Bulma’s blue irises, before it fizzled away just as fast. Curiosity was left in its place.
“His own person? You mean, separate from Vegeta and Goku?”
“Yes. I don’t know if the dragon can do it, but I want to still try.”
“… … …” Bulma went silent, and stared at her closely. She could tell the scientist was examining her, trying to get a better feel of things. This is the first time they’ve properly spoken to each other, and since their first ‘meeting’ involved something that people would see in tv dramas, she couldn’t blame Bulma for being on guard. She’s thankful Chi Chi wasn’t around, as from the exchange of words they had previously, she got the impression that the Son matriarch was the far more emotionally volatile one.
If it were Chi Chi she had to ask the radar for, she had no doubt the woman wouldn’t have bothered to hear her out, refusing because of sheer bitterness…probably pettiness too. Bulma at least hasn’t chased her off yet.
“Well,” Bulma leaned back in her chair. “I don’t see a reason why I shouldn’t give you the radar. I know that you…meant a lot to Vegito. And, I guess he meant a lot to you as well, since you’re here now.”
Considering how the fusion was her ex-husband in a way, she expected Bulma to express a little irritation at the minimum, but she instead started smiling slightly. A more solemn, vaguely sad light entered her eyes.
“Speaking of that…I wanted to apologize to you.”
“To me?” She asked, eyes widening. “For what?”
“…For basically taking Vegito away from you, like that. I’ve done some thinking about it since then, and it struck me that it was…very heartless of me.”
Unsure of how to respond, she stayed quiet. Bulma continued, looking down at her desk and tapping a finger.
“It was difficult, adjusting to him being around. The idea that I would never see Vegeta again…it hurt. Every time I looked at Vegito, I saw Vegeta. But, he wasn’t him. It got to the point that in my eyes, Vegito was almost like…a ghost. In a weird way.” She chuckled, though it contained little humor.
“When he told Chi Chi and I that he didn’t want to be with either of us, it made that feeling worse. He was…fascinating I have to admit, but he confused me. I was so frustrated over everything, what Buu and his handler did, and how Vegito was a permanent reminder of it, that I…never tried to understand how he felt about it all.”
“…It was just a bad, complicated time.” The reassurance left her lips involuntarily. She kept talking, briefly looking down at the ground.
“For what it’s worth, I don’t hate you…or Chi Chi. Took me awhile to stop feeling angry, but I understand why you two made the wish. You don’t have to apologize.”
She cleared her throat. “All I want is Vegito back, and in a way where you and Chi Chi can keep your husbands. It’ll be a happy ending for everyone.”
“Hm.” The scientist brightened up. “You’re right. And honestly, I shouldn’t exactly apologize to you anyway. It’s Vegito who deserves it.”
After everything she and Chi Chi did to him, how they treated him… The memories troubled Bulma. She vividly remembered the last thing Vegito told she and Chi Chi before he left in a fury, and soon, left this world altogether. That bridge between them had absolutely burned to ash, but she felt driven to see if another bridge could be built. If ill feelings could be forgiven, and let go.
Bulma pushed such thoughts back for now, and pulled out a drawer in her desk to remove something from it.
“Here.” The scientist held out a circular, white device with a knob at the top of it. Its screen was currently black, as it was powered off. She moved forwards to take it.
“This is the radar. You’ll know whenever the dragon balls become active again with this, which should be in about…”
“Four months.” She cut in. “Goku told me.”
“Oh?” Bulma looked amused. “You’ve spoken with him?”
“Yeah. He came to visit me a while ago. With the Instant Transmission thing.”
“I see. I’m assuming he already knows about you wanting the radar?”
“Yes. He said that he would go gather the dragon balls for me.”
“Sounds like you both have it all figured out. All there’s left to do, is to wait for the dragon balls to re-activate. I’ll trust the radar to you until then. You seem very responsible, but try not to lose it. Those things aren’t easy to make, believe it or not.”
“Right. I’ll take good care of it.” She gripped the contraption tightly.
It was all riding on Shenron now. If the dragon couldn’t bring Vegito back, then she would have to live with that. Easier said than done. She not holding what happened against the two other women aside, she knew that she would never get over how abruptly she and the Saiyan were ripped apart.
She never got to say goodbye to him. That alone made her not want to accept him being gone. So, she wouldn’t. She wouldn’t even try to, until Shenron was summoned.
…To think, she’s going through all this effort to revive someone who she thought would just be an annoying acquaintance and nothing more…
“Well, I guess I’ll be seeing you.” She turned to walk out of the room, but paused when Bulma spoke up again.
“Before you leave…let’s exchange phone numbers. Just to keep in better contact, in case something goes wrong with the radar.”
“…Ok.” That was good enough logic for her.
After they registered one another as a contact in their cellphones, she bid Bulma a temporary farewell and left the room. After she closed the door and turned back around to make her way down the hall, she was stopped by someone who was standing nearby.
A short, purple-haired boy with blue eyes that looked up at her with an awfully piercing gaze. Despite being 9 years old, Trunks had a bit of an intimidating air to him. Considering who his parents were, she wasn’t surprised.
“You’re really going to try to wish Vegito back?” He bluntly asked, arms crossed.
So, he was eavesdropping…that also didn’t surprise her.
“Yes.” She paused, feeling awkward. It wasn’t every day that she spoke with kids, and unlike Goten, Trunks didn’t seem to be that amiable.
“Do you…not want that?”
“Never said I didn’t. It’s just surprising. I guess you really are his girlfriend.”
“Girlfr-” She started then stopped, the heat of embarrassment immediately rushing to her face. It took some strength, but she managed to keep her voice level.
“Kid, I’m not his girlfriend.” She shook her head. “I don’t even know if he likes me like that; not that it’s important anyway. I just want him alive again.”
At this, Trunks lost the edge he carried. Similar to Bulma, his expression fell; becoming vaguely remorseful.
“…Sorry…” He muttered. She knew what he was referring to, without he needing to say it. Perhaps he had involvement in it somehow, but the details didn’t matter to her at this point. She mustered a smile, even though her heart was still beating at a quickened pace because of the boy’s earlier remark.
“It’s fine. If this works, all will be well.”
Trunks merely nodded, and didn’t say anything else; keeping his stare fixed on the ground. She took this as her cue to leave, as she had to get back to her work place anyhow.
She headed down to the main entrance, but to her surprise, a familiar spiky-haired man left a room just as she came near it. She ignored how her heart jumped, especially when he turned to face her. Off the bat, she noticed that he was…about as tall as she was. A touch endearing, but she wouldn’t dare voice it out loud.
“Uh…” She gulped. “Hi…Vegeta.”
The man’s face was neutral, mouth forming a line. His eyes were in a scowl, but she detected no anger or unfriendliness in his stare. If anything, he regarded her in a faintly…soft manner. It was almost identical to a look she caught Vegito giving her one time…
Vegeta nodded in acknowledgement, but didn’t speak. He stepped past her and down the hall, in the direction she came from. She watched the Saiyan go, but recalled what she was doing before, and resumed on her way.
She walked down many halls, exiting Capsule Corp with the dragon radar tucked safely into her bag, feeling more hopeful that she’d get to see the smug warrior again soon.

Her office door suddenly slammed open, making her jump.
“She was talking to you about something.” Her visitor gruffly stated, entering without waiting for approval and pushed the door shut behind him.
“What was it?”
“…It was about the dragon radar. She wants to wish Vegito back to life, with his own existence separate from you and Goku. Didn’t Goku tell you?”
“No. The clown’s been too focused on his family, I suppose.”
Vegeta snorted, and crossed his arms. Bulma smirked.
“Well, that’s why she was here. In four months, if her plan succeeds…there’ll be another pure-blooded Saiyan around. However unnatural his origins are.” She hummed thoughtfully. He tsked.
“You say that as if it means anything to me.”
“Maybe it does…or doesn’t. But obviously, Vegito’s powerful. Stronger than you and Goku even. Does THAT mean anything to you?”
“…Hmph. We’ll see.”
Was all Vegeta said in return, before taking his leave. Bulma knew, from the bottom of her heart, that he was going to train. And be training for a while.
She shook her head, entertained by her husband’s seemingly indifferent demeanor. She was aware that he wouldn’t take being the third best on the planet and likely in this universe sitting down, but despite how devoted he’ll be to sticking to the gravity room, she was thankful he was even here at all.
…It reminded her of what had to be lost first. She sincerely hoped things would work out.
