Went out to see my mom today, and we dropped by Michaels to pick up canvases for Artemis paintings, and I got some new paint colors while I was there.
Also got a few of those clear glass ornaments that you can put stuff in yourself to make into something? I'm thinking I might see if I can put some eye feathers from my boys in them (I mean I know I CAN I just don't know how good it will LOOK), with their names written on to remember them. If it works well, I might offer some up for sale, too. Stan's eyes are always so full of love with their little white heart in the middle.
We also ran by jo-ann fabrics and grabbed some Very On Sale fleece ($4.25 for almost 2 yards, which made 6 large square hammocks and 4 corner hammocks and one long, rectangular strip I'll use across the cage), and she sewed me up some quick rat hammocks for the boys. I forgot to grab some kind of ribbon for the core attachments, so I'm gonna drive back tomorrow with a loaf of fresh sourdough to trade for another few minutes with her sewing machine.
WHICH IS ANOTHER COOL THING. I gifted my second sourdough starer to my SIL (@teameagleworks) for new year's, leaving me with just Tex for now (bless, Tex is enough to take care of rn). Who!!! is finally ready!!! to start making actual bread. So tonight I let Sark pick a recipe, and I mixed it up in a double batch so I could have one loaf for him and one for my dad. It didn't take much starter, which was cool. Fingers crossed that it comes out okay tomorrow morning.

"Say, your advertising your project's existence was just a little zine, wasn't he?"
I will never advocate being anything less than professional with Staff. Raging user at social media network is not effective or good for anyone.
A(n alleged) decrease of commitment on their part to a platform I am committed to is not a comfortable position
Ultimately, they are treating this like a business decision, which is fair
So am I. We both have an equal right to self preservation and project growth.
Here is an outline post on how to make zines in the thought line of "I run a small widget and I want people to remember I exist."
It's not for everyone, it's not the only solution, it's not perfect, it's not a one-size-fits-all. You'll have to modify it.
Tumblr media
MY PLAN
My current numbers as of this writing is to produce a small zine using 1 sheet of paper on a custom-printed envelope and mailed to customers once a month.
Retail price will be $10/year, production cost per customer is just shy of $14/year, so each sign up costs the company $4/year (about $0.33/month).
Free shipping (simplifies things)
Billed 1 year at a time. Payment processing has a floor of $0.30, costs would be destroyed if we handled it monthly.
No auto-renew. This easily could become an experiential nightmare for customers and us as a shop. Reminders will be included during the last few months.
1 sheet of paper cut in half and folded in half stapled into a zine. Very limited space. Fun, bright, we can produce it quickly in-house. Small so it doesn't create a project backlog.
For us: this project is not to make money.
It is to remind folks we exist when they remember "oh hey Someone's Birthday is coming up, I should get a card from Netherworld Post Office. Maybe a few labels to decorate the envelope, a sticker or two for my water bottle."
From past experience, a handful-percent of customers on this kind of system will make the entire system profitable, annually.
The rest will enjoy it tremendously, which pays dividends in unexpected and myriad ways. Word of mouth of mouth of mouth of mouth of mouth (etc.)
Ultimately: the risk is brutally small.
YOUR PLAN
Can be whatever you want.
Part of the reason my costs are so high is because I want custom printed envelopes. If I got blank envelopes then rubber stamped them, I would save about 25%
But. I explicitly want crisply printed multi-colored envelopes
(because we are going to sell envelopes in time, so it's a continual proof of production in terms of what we can do)
You could also charge some or all shipping. Or raise the price. (Or not do any of this!)
Tumblr media
There is a pin company in Canada that sends me a reminder every six months or so that they exist and like clockwork I buy a packet of pins and stickers. Not every reminder, probably 2-3 times every 3-4 years.
Same idea.
Some folks will prefer email newsletters -- which they don't pay for, that's great, we offer that too.
Online advertising exists. It can be cheap. It is always at least medium-level complicated.
Moving into the woods and saying "no social media networks for this biz!" is not practical (or us and for many)
Rebooting an audience every 5-10 years on a different network is not practical
Tumblr media
I HOPE TUMBLR OUTLIVES ME
It is my sincere and legitimate hope that this site continues, grows, evolves, strengthens. For both personal and professional reasons.
I similarly recognize that my goals and theirs may not continue to align forever -- and that's far more my problem than theirs.
Here is the zine guide link from the beginning.
Here is our shop's landing page with newsletter signup for when we launch.
Good luck everyone (staff explicitly included in "everyone")

Blind Date - Bucky Barnes
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
Genre: fluff!
Word Count: 1.6k
Summary: your friend Natasha is tired of your tragic dating life, so she sets you up on a blind date that you’ll never forget
CW: mentions of the KGB, first date, blind date, you work at a retail store, Natasha is pushy, references to my own bad dating life, Christmas time,
definitely did not post this just so I could have some Marvel on my masterlist anyway here is some Bucky with a first date around Christmas time because now Halloween is over and it’s totally socially acceptable for me to only write about Christmas now lol
I just did a part 2 to this which you can read here
————
“I don’t know, Nat,” you scan another sweater and fold it into the bag. “A blind date?
She narrows her eyes. “You’ve had a revolving door of losers and idiots, not to mention a surprising amount of super villains. Are you really so against the idea?”
You glance up at her between scans. It wasn’t uncommon for Nat to bug you at your retail job, and now with Christmas fast approaching, she was there almost every day buying some obscure gift. That’s how you ended up bagging seven matching Christmas sweaters.
“Is this everything, Nat? Or do you want a partridge in a pear tree on the side?”
She snickers at that. “What I want,” she grabs the bag from your hand, “is for you to stop avoiding the question.”
“I’m not—”
“Don’t even try to lie about it. I was literally trained by the KGB to get the truth out of people.”
Your boss scoffs somewhere off to the side, clearly sick of your antics with the Avenger.
You sigh. “Do you promise he’s not a weirdo?”
“I promise.”
“Then fine. Text me the details after work.”
“Will do,” she gives a two-fingered salute, “good luck with the rest of your shift.”
You nod and watch  her walk out of the store, her red hair swaying across her back as she moves. Your boss shuffles in a bit closer, her apple perfume clouding your nostrils.
“Was that an Avenger?”
You shrug.
--
5pm. December 24th.
You find yourself thinking: Who goes on a date on Christmas Eve? Yet here you are, smoothing the cream knit sweater over your pants and examining yourself in the mirror. Nat hadn’t said where you were going, she had just said to dress casual and that he would be there to pick you up around 5.
Perfectly on time, there’s a knock on your apartment door. You slip your feet into a pair of fuzzy boots and pull the door open. Standing in front of you, in a gray long sleeve, blue jeans and a black jacket, is your date.
He has dark brown hair, gelled down to look somewhat neat. He’s clean shaven and his cheeks were reddened from the cold outside. Blue eyes meet yours and a small smile comes to his lips.
“Y/N?”
“Hi,” you smile, feeling the blood rush to your face. He’s stunning.
He offers a gloved hand. “I’m James.”
“Nice to meet you.”
You can’t help but wonder why he looks so familiar. You’ve definitely seen his face before, but at the same time, you’re certain you’d remember someone as beautiful as him.
“Should we get going?” He gestures to the door.
You nod and grab your purse and keys off the table. “After you,” you smile.
James walks next to you, clearly walking a little slower than his normal pace to make up for your smaller strides. One of his hands sits in his pocket while the other one swings at his side. You try not to swing your hand so that you don't accidentally touch his.
“So I was thinking we could get dinner at this little diner near the plaza and then go see the Christmas tree in Rockefeller center?”
“That sounds nice! I used to go see the tree all the time as a kid, but it’s been a few years since I last saw it,” you admit.
He hums in agreement. “I haven’t seen it in,” he exhales sharply, “ages.”
You smile at him as the two of you reach the lobby door of your apartment and end up in the crisp winter air. The sky is white, threatening to snow down on the bare city.
You look up at the sky. “I really hope it snows tonight.”
“Nothing better than a white Christmas.”
“Exactly, it doesn’t feel like Christmas without the snow.”
“It doesn’t feel like Christmas without friends or family either,” he mumbles, “I can’t remember how long it’s been since I spent Christmas with somebody.”
“Me too, if it wasn’t for Nat bugging me so much I’d probably be drinking eggnog alone in my apartment.”
He nudges you gently. “Well, hey, you’re stuck with me now.”
“You’re stuck with me now,” you smile at him.
The walk isn’t very far, and with James as your company, it goes by fast. By the time the two of you make it to the diner, your cheeks and hands are numb, but you also feel really connected to the man next to you.
The server sits you two at a booth by the window, and based on his friendliness with James, they know each other.
“Come here often?” You giggle.
“Just a little,” he cracks a smile.
You take off your scarf and fold it up next to you with your purse. James rests his hands on the table but makes no move to take off his gloves.
“Aren’t you getting warm?”
“A little, I guess.” He shrugs off his jacket, and looking nervous, slips off his gloves.
There’s a dog tag around his neck, tucked into his shirt. You hide your shock quite well when you notice that one of his hands was a shiny, dark metal. You don’t glance very long, but when you look up at his face, you can tell that he noticed you looking.
“It’s okay to look, y/n. I’m learning to not be ashamed of it.”
“Sorry,” you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear nervously, “I shouldn’t stare. You just look...so familiar.”
He nods, but as he opens his mouth to speak, the server returns.
“Can I take your drink orders?”
You order a coffee while James orders a tea, and once he’s certain everyone is out of earshot, leans in a little closer.
“I haven’t been completely honest with you, y/n. Nat’s told me about all of your nightmare dates and I really didn’t want to end up as another one…”
“Is everything alright?”
He takes a deep breath. “My full name is James Buchanen Barnes.”
You don’t hide your shock as well this time. Everything clicks into place, and though you had only ever seen pictures of him in museums when he was younger, and a few other pictures on the news a few years ago, you know that’s where you knew him from.
“So,” you nod slowly, noting how he refused to meet your eyes, “do I still call you James, or do you prefer Bucky?”
His eyes finally meet yours and you can see the stress melt away. “I prefer Bucky.”
“Then it’s nice to meet you, Bucky.”
The waiter brings your drinks and takes your food orders and once again, you wait until he leaves before you say anything.
“So does Captain America really sing in the shower?”
Bucky laughs at that, his laugh so happy that it makes your heart swell up with joy.“All the time! He has a good singing voice, too, so we can’t even tell him to shut up!”
You can’t help but giggle at the thought of Captain America belting it out in the shower The sound of Bucky’s laugh on top of yours only makes you giggle more.
“You have a nice laugh,” he says.
Heat rises to your cheeks but luckily the waiter comes by with your food, and you’re saved by the bell. The two of you eat in silence, and when the bill comes, you and Bucky do the classic cheque dance. In the end, you paid for your respective meals, and made your way out of the restaurant.
“So,” he offers his hand, “Rockefeller?”
“Rockefeller!” You take his hand in yours, and based on the feel of it, it’s the metal one.
He holds your hand gently, as if he’s afraid to hurt you. Of course he is, you thought. If you knew anything about his past, it was that that same arm had been used to hurt people. You’re flattered that he would even put aside his insecurity with it for you.
After a few minutes of walking, Bucky finally speaks. “You know, if you’re not sick of me after Rockefeller, a friend of mine is having a Christmas party.”
“A friend? Like an Avengers friend?”
“A friend like Tony Stark,” he states plainly.
Your eyes shoot wide open. An Avengers Christmas party? Was that where Nat would be?
“I’d love to go with you.”
He gently squeezes your hand in acknowledgement, and in no time at all, the two of you are heading into Rockefeller center to see the looming Christmas tree. It’s bright and beautiful, and you can’t help but gawk at it. With a quick glance at Bucky, you can tell he’s doing the same.
“So, when was the last time you saw the tree?” You whisper to him.
“1937, I think.”
“That was so long ago!”
“I know,” he smiles sheepishly, “I just never felt comfortable enough in crowds before. It’s getting better, though.”
“I’m glad,” you turn to face him, your lips turning into a smile.
“What? Is there something on my face?”
“No. I just think you’re very handsome.”
His face flushes instantly. “So what are you going to do about it?”
You stand on your tippy toes, wrap your hands around his neck and whisper, “is this okay?”
He wraps his arms around your waist and leans in, answering your question in the form of a kiss.
You smile into it, enjoying his warmth against yours.
He pulls away first. “So, Christmas party?”
“Christmas party.” You smile back at him.
For the first time in years, you weren’t going to spend Christmas alone.

English Coffee.
This is my first post on here!
I have been debating for a while to write a Josh fic and then thought fuck it and went ahead. If this gets a good response then I have some more chapters I want to write.
This is a slow burn, with angst, fluff, smut the whole lot. I am from the UK so some of my knowledge on states and shit isn’t great 😅 I love reading Y/N fics, but that is not how I love to write. So the main character does have a name but feel free to read her however you want!
Fionnuala= Fin-ola.
Triggers: 18+ only!, some DA, name calling, etc.
Summary: Fionnuala has had a shit time, so when she gets screamed at by a customer it’s the last straw. She gets a job working with Greta Van Fleet on their tour as a costume design assistant. She has a rule for no relationships but what happens when she catches the eye of Josh? Will she go ahead and follow her heart, or will she refuse and lose everything she loves ?
Enjoy some slow Josh relationship fiction!
Tumblr media
Chapter 1.
Here it was, my first day. I never thought I was going to get an interview, let alone the job.
Backtrack to nearly a year ago when I was sick of my 9-5 retail job, and all those shitty customers. The customers shouting at me for getting their coffee order wrong by the temperature of the mocha or ‘I asked for 1 sugar packet on the side, why have I got two?’ So one day after a particular shitty customer who ordered a panini and when I gave it to them I got screamed at, because they definitely ordered a toastie, and then being made to apologise by the manager for their mistake. I went home and started scrolling Indeed and any other job site I could find, is when I found what sounded like the perfect job.
Costume/ Clothes designer assistant, for a band on tour of UK, Europe and America. I already had a Fashion Degree from Edinburgh, I had just never found the best job to put my degree to the test. After reading the important details for the job and getting bored with the rest, I said fuck it and applied. Never thinking I would get an interview, I got an interview then never thinking I would get the job, I got the job.
So here we are, walking through the lovely Edinburgh Airport to get on a plane to Nashville, Tennessee to meet my new manager and the band I am gonna be helping costume for their tour. I currently have no idea who they are, or what kind of look or music they do.
I have spoken to my new manager, Jess, quite a bit over facetime and texting. She is a middle aged women with a short black bob, and she is lovely. She has assured me that the band is going to love me, and has been telling me how excited she is to have someone she can actually talk to on tour with her.
I had gotten past security and finally into the duty free when my phone pinged.
Orla
Hey ! Good luck with the flight, don’t worry about the flat I have got it under control x love you
My best friend Orla had volunteered to look after my flat while I was on tour for the next year, I am so grateful because I didn’t want to lose my perfect little flat in Edinburgh. After finishing my fashion degree I decided to stay in Scotland, instead of moving back to my tiny little hometown in Cambridgeshire. Me and Orla met while both working in a garden centre cafe, we quickly bonded over our Irish heritage and she is still there while i’m going on tour. We promised to keep in touch and plenty of visits when we can. She is my best friend and has supported me through so much since we have met, we have similar tastes in music, clothes and horror movies but living together is 100% off the table. Orla likes to have a lot of dates and sometimes they come back and I am definitely not living and listening to that, I am more of a long term relationship girl.
I decide to just sit in some tiny coffee shop while I wait for my plane, trust me to get here 2 hours before my flight because I am convinced I’m going to be late as always. My phone pinged again, this time a text from Jess.
Jess
Can’t wait to meet you in person! I’ll be waiting at the gate for you after the flight, then we will drop your stuff at the hotel and meet the band ? They really want to get to know you before we start touring 😊
Fionnuala
Can’t wait to meet you either, I’m so excited for this !
Oh shit! Sounds good 😅
See you in like 12 hours.
Oh shit, okay this is fine, I can meet the band today that’s fine, that’s cool. I just need to freshen up after getting off the plane and in between car rides and dropping stuff off. Why wouldn’t she tell me this earlier ?
Soon enough I am waiting in line to board the plane. I quickly get in my seat and start to look through my bag for my airpods. No way I can do this without some emotional support Bears Den. I need that calming voice to soothe my flying nerves. This is my first time flying to America and I am not a confident flyer. I stick my airpods in and try and read Pet Sematary by Stephen King. 10 hour flight here we come woohoo, it’s currently 6am when we take off so I should land in Nashville at around 11am. I take some deep breaths while we take off, and have a look around the plane. It’s packed by everyone seems to be keeping to themselves which is good, I hate when strangers feel the need to speak to people they sit next to.
We landed in Nashville and I get to the luggage pick up, it’s early June here and it’s already boiling outside. I was dressed in some grey lounge wear jogging bottoms and jumper because of course England was freezing and now I was sweating through, so much for freshening up. The airport is packed and people keep shoving into me while I was waiting for my bag, I could feel myself growing more and more agitated by the second and was getting ready to snap when I saw my suitcases come round.
I had to pack basically my entire life into 2 massive suitcases and a huge carry on bag and right now I was regretting every decision getting me here because I am dripping in sweat, my hair is stuck to my face, it’s too loud, people keep shoving me and I have to go and meet a band who I don’t know and show them me, Fionnuala, 24 years old from England is capable of dressing them for the entire tour with no experience.
I drag both my suitcases roughly off the conveyor belt and start walking to the exit, I take some deep breaths to calm me and take my airpods out. I can already hear all the American accents around me and slightly calm down when I think about how exciting it is to be in America and think about all the food I want to try !
The exit comes into view and I start looking around for Jess, I finally see her in the crowds of people. She is holding a sign saying ‘Fionnuala’ with a massive smiley face drew on it and the Scottish flag. I smile and wave and she smiles back waving too and starts to walk over to me. When I reach her she pulls me into a massive hug, she smells like some fancy sweet perfume and is dressed in some loose jeans and jumper. Thank god she doesn’t look too fancy when we are about to meet the band.
‘Fionnuala finally ! I have been so excited to meet you! How was the flight? Here pass me a suitcase.’ Jess says, she lets go off me and takes a suitcase. ‘It was okay, just very long. Oh thank you.’ I say while walking with her out of the exit and into the bright Nashville sun.
‘Good. I’m glad, I am so excited to work with you this year and finally have someone I feel like I can talk to. So plans, the hotel is about 30 minutes away and then we drop your stuff off and head off to meet the boys, there I will give you the company card to pay for Ubers, meals etc and you can get a chance to sit down with the band and chat to them about ideas and just get a vibe, you know. But I think you guys are going to get on just fine.’ Jess rambles off while we make our way to what i’m guessing is her car.
Wait boys? Who is this band ? I don’t feel like I can ask just in case in previous facetimes of emails she has told me their name. I chuck my suitcase in the back and slide in beside her, I don’t think I am going to get used to the steering wheel being on the other side of the car.
‘Sounds good to me !’ I say, Jess rambles on about some other work stuff, and then invites me to dinner with her tonight so we can get to know each other better. I agree and pull my phone out my pocket. I send a text to my mum and Orla to let them both know I got here okay. Me and Orla text back and forth for a few minutes, her demanding to know the name of the band I am working with and me telling her I still have no idea.
Just as I am about to put my phone away I hear it go off, I check and it’s a text.
Ezra
‘Hey, just letting you know I am thinking of you, good luck with the new job in America. I would like to talk if that’s ok? I feel like we both need to talk a few things over.’
I freeze up when reading the text and lock my phone and put it away. How did he know I got a new job? What does he want to talk about ?
‘Hey, you okay?’ Jess asks me while pulling into the car park of the hotel. She stops the car and looks over at me, guess I had been wearing my emotions all over my face. ‘Yeah.’ I say while grabbing my bag from the footwell, she stares at me and says ‘No, you’re not. What is it a boy?’ She says while turning to look at me. I sighed and nodded, she nods as well ‘I’m guessing ex?’ She says and her southern accent coming out a little more. I nod again, ‘Don’t worry!’ I say while looking at her ‘It’s not gonna affect my work.’ She laughs, ‘Don’t be silly! I never thought that, we are all human these things happen. I’m not the type of boss to make you hide all your bad moods or situations from me to focus on your work.’ She says while patting my shoulder, ‘If you need to talk i’m here, if you wanna talk at dinner tonight i’m here to listen okay?’ I nod and smile. ‘Thanks Boss.’ She smiles and gets out the car.
I feel even more excited about this new job, and I am starting to like Jess more. Thank god I got lucky with a nice manager.
I grab a suitcase and Jess takes the other one and we walk into the hotel. She tells me to wait by the lift while she grabs the keys. Wooo okay this is nice! The ceilings are high and there are windows to let natural light in, little sofas sit in every corner with coffee tables and plants. This is nicer than anywhere I have stayed before.
‘Okay, you’re in 524 and I am in 520. Perfect for coming back drunk later and making sure we both get in. Let’s chuck our stuff away and get going !’ She is getting better by the minute. ‘Perfect, do I have 5 minutes to change and wash my face ? Please.’ I say while getting in the lift, she hits the button for the 5th floor. Some monotone tune plays out the speakers, they even have lift music! America is amazing.
‘5 minutes tops! We have got to get going Fionnuala.’ She says while looking at me, I nod and smile. ‘Thank you! I want to make a good impression.’ I say, the lift comes to the 5th floor and we walk out. She passes me my key and points me round the corner to my room I nod and promise I will be 5 minutes.
I rush in and don’t even get a chance to look at the room while I grab my toiletries bag from the carry on and run into the bathroom. Wow, this a nice bathroom. I run a brush through my hair, grab my face wash and moisturiser, after that I quickly change into some cream wide leg cropped jeans and a black jumper with a collar and tuck it in. I grab my tote bag and shove my purse and perfume in and run into the hallway. Jess was waiting for me but the lift and smiled. ‘Perfect 5 minutes! Now let’s meet the boys.’
We quickly reach her car again and she tells me the arena is 15 minutes away. ‘So, are you excited?’ She asks me, ‘Yeah very! But very nervous, I’m not really that chatty with people I don’t know. I just want to make a good impression.’ I say while looking out the window, the amount of fast food places here is insane. ‘Don’t worry! I love you so they will love you. okay? Just be yourself and if they offer you a drink do not feel like you have to take it.’ She says while pulling into I’m guessing the visitor parking for the arena. I nod and get out the car, we start walking over to the band entrance and I can feel butterflies staring to show up in my stomach and my palms getting sweaty. She hands me a staff lanyard for the band and we get given another one by the venue to pass back at the end of the night.
‘So the staff one for us will let the guys security know who you are, and will just keep you recognisable while around the venue in case you get caught in the crowd for whatever reason.’ She says while opening doors and walking me down corridors.
This is it, I am gonna meet the band who has given me this great opportunity and job. I glance down at the staff lanyard. ‘Greta van Fleet’, it says, hmm I think. That sounds familiar, wait a second? Isn’t that the band that has that 70s rocker sound? I don’t get much time to think about it as Jess announces we are here. I can hear some music coming from inside and men chatting. She opens the door before I get a chance to pull myself together and I am staring 4 20 something year olds in the face.
‘Hey guys! This is Fionnuala!’ Jess announces, they all smile at me while I take in all their looks.
‘Jess ! How are you? We missed you.’ Some guy says while walking over. He had shoulder length brown hair and was quite tall, I noticed he was barefoot and smiled. I always go barefoot too. He was wearing some jeans and a weird patterned shirt. He held his hand out and was practically buzzing with energy, ‘Hey! I’m Sam, we are so excited to meet you!’ He says, I shake his hand and said ‘Me too! I wanna thank you guys for letting me come along and work with you. It’s a great opportunity.’ He smiles and hooks his arm with mine and walks me over to the other 3. I look over my shoulder at Jess and she smiles and puts her thumbs up at me, while walking out the door.
Great, guess i’m chucked in the deep end.
Sam sits me next to him on the sofa and the other 3 are sitting around me on other sofas and chairs. ‘Hi, I’m Danny, I play drums.’ Another tall guy says to me, he has long curly dark hair and again was dressed pretty cool. This one was wearing shoes I noticed. I hold out my hand and smiled, ‘Nice to meet you I’m Fionnuala.’ He smiles and shakes it.
‘Wait a sec, are you British?’ The guy who spoke had longer hair as well, but was dressed more dark and moody. He had a button downs shirt with half the buttons undone, and some dark jeans and shoes. He was wearing a hat and sunglasses were hanging around his shirt. I nodded and looked at him, ‘Yeah, I am from Cambridgeshire but living in Edinburgh after doing my degree there.’ He smiled, ‘Very cool! I’m Jake by the way. Did you fly in today?’ He said while drinking a beer, ‘Yeah, it’s my first time in America I am very excited.’
‘Oohh! A USA virgin aren’t we privileged to have you coming with us.’ This time it was the last guy who spoke, he looked at lot like Jake and a little like Sam. I’m guessing they were related or something. He walks over, I saw he was quite short and had crazy curly hair that was shaved at the sides. He was dressed in a plain white top and chinos, with a long necklace hanging around his neck and was barefoot too. He holds his hand out, ‘I am Josh, I see you have met my twin Jake. I sing for our band.’ I shake his hand and smile, he was gorgeous.
‘Pleased to meet you, I’m guessing you know who I am.’ I say, he nods. ‘We are so excited to have you working with us! Jess showed us the portfolio you sent, even though you haven’t ever worked in design the stuff you did from college was amazing and we loved it.’ He said as he sat down next to me, there were now 3 of us on the sofa and it was getting quite cramped. He placed his arm behind me and smiled. He seemed the type of person to get very comfortable quickly with people. I smiled, feeling quite shy now that she had showed them all of my designs.
‘How rude of me! Fionnuala, would you like a drink?’ Sam says while standing up, quickly taking the attention off me which I was grateful for. ‘Yes please.’ I said standing up and walking over to the bar with him. ‘What’s your poison?’ Sam says while gesturing to the drinks. I heard Josh and the others go back to chatting, ‘I will have a beer please if you have one.’ I said, Sam nodded and quickly got me a beer out the fridge. ‘I am hoping beer here is as good as beer in Edinburgh.’ I said while thanking Sam and taking the beer. I went to sit on the spare armchair that was free now Josh was sat on the sofa. He peered over at me and smiled, I smiled back and took a sip.
‘So Fionnuala, tell us about yourself.’ Sam said sitting next to Josh and Danny on the sofa, Jake was still sitting on the other armchair. They all sat and looked at me, I felt like a deer in the headlights and my entire brain went blank. ‘Well what do you want to know?’ I said, taking a sip of beer and leaning back in the chair to get comfortable. ‘Tell us about Edinburgh, I’m guessing you are not from there because of your accent.’ Danny said, taking a sip of his drink.
‘Well, no. I am from a tiny town in Cambridgeshire and went up there to study fashion and design. I loved it so much after graduating uni that I decided to stay, I got a flat and a shitty job in a garden centre cafe and have been living there for about 3 years now and I love it. The city is beautiful and the beer is amazing. I love the architecture and the weather, I am not a hot weather type of girl.’ I said, they all stared and nodded. ‘So why this? Why leave Edinburgh for a year to work on costume design?’ Sam said. ‘Well I hate retail, I am not the type of person to hold her tongue when people are rude and after being made to repeatedly apologise to rude customers I decided enough was enough and when I got home started applying to any and every job there was. I saw this, didn’t think I would even get an interview based on my lack of experience but lo and behold here I am.’ They all seemed to be listening intently and nodding along with me while I talked.
‘That’s a bit change, but you are the perfect fit for the job. The designs you had are incredible, with the capes and colours. We loved them and can’t wait to see them come to life on tour.’ Jake said, they all seemed to have a little buzz going from the drink. I’m guessing they had more before I arrived, I hope they can perform like this.
‘Have you heard of us?’ Josh asked. ‘I think so.’ I said, ‘I recognise the name so I’m guessing I have listened to a few.’ Sam smirked, ‘Well I hope we are to your liking Miss England, god knows what you are listening to over there.’ He got up again and offered everyone another drink, I agreed and he brought me another beer.
We all sat chatting for the next couple of hours, the guys seemed to like me well enough and we had been laughing at Sam’s jokes. I had learned that Josh and Jake were twins, Sam was there younger brother and Danny was their best friend but a brother from now close they all are. I had a strong buzz going now and began to open up more with them when we were talking. Jess had text me about an hour ago to say she would be collecting me in the next hour and we can get ready for dinner. I heard my phone go off and assumed it was Jess again picked if up to check.
Ezra
‘Did you get my text? Or are you just ignoring me again? We need to talk, ring me.’
I quickly took a breath and put my phone away, Josh came and sat on the edge of the sofa closer to me. His breath smelled like whisky when he spoke. ‘So Fionnuala.’ He said, exaggerating the way he said my name. I smirked and leaned in. ‘Yes, Josh?’ He smiled at me, ‘So, what does the name mean? I don’t think that is Scottish from what I know.’ I smiled and sighed, ‘It’s Irish, my dads Irish but my mum is English. They wanted to keep to his roots.’ He nodded along when I spoke, ‘It means fair shoulder, they thought it was pretty.’ I leaned back, beginning to feel a little dizzy from the beer. The other guys were all sitting around laughing at something Sam had said. ‘I like it, very humble if I do say.’ Josh said, he was still leaning forward at me while he spoke. ‘Wait till you hear my middle name.’ I said sipping the last of my beer and placing the bottle on the table. ‘Oh, do tell.’ I looked over at him and rolled my eyes, at that moment Jess walked in and shook her head when she saw the amount of bottles placed around.
‘Jess!’ Sam said standing and bowing, ‘We love Flo!’ He walked over to me and placed his hands on my shoulder. ‘I can see that! We are meant to be getting dinner in the next hour and you have a show, so I suggest you drink some water before you can’t perform. And give me my assistant back.’ She walked over and took my hand, ‘Let’s go.’ She laughed when I smiled up at her and stood. ‘Well, thank you for having me guys! I guess I will see you tomorrow for some design.’ I began to walk out, Jess had put her arm around my shoulder. ‘Wait! You didn’t tell me your middle name!’ Josh called out while leaning back on the sofa. I looked back and smirked, ‘Another story for another day.’ I called back. He giggled loudly and the other guys started chatting to him demanding to know what was gonna on.
‘I’m guessing that went well!’ Jess said while we slid into the car. ‘Very! I think they like me, they wanted to see designs but I told them to wait until we had a proper meeting tomorrow over it. They added me to a group chat to send me their ideas so I can work on them while we are apart.’ I said, I leaned back into the seat and took a few deep breaths. I could feel the buzz the alcohol gave me with my head feeling heavy. Jess laughed and patted my shoulder, ‘I knew they would! They guys do like to drink, so you better get used to it. They love drinking before shows and after.’ She said pulling into the car park. ‘I saw! I like to drink but they have another level of drinking.’ Jess mimicked my accent and laughed with me. ‘Let’s get to dinner Flo, and we can have a good girly talk.’
An hour later me and Jess are sat in a cute Italian restaurant eating some pasta, the place was cute with dim lights and music playing softly over speakers. The pasta was delicious while she talked to me about her husband and how she hates leaving him for tours but he knows she loves her work. ‘I miss him, you know? But I think space is good and it’s important that we both have our own interests and work. We don’t have kids, but we both decided we aren’t children people and our lives are fulfilled already.’ She said, I nodded and asked her a few questions about him and his work. She told me he is a writer, and loves writing horror stories and comes to a few shows in Europe for a few days so they can travel and see each other. ‘So, you don’t have to tell me, but who was the text from? What’s the story?’
I sighed, thinking about how to tell his story. ‘So, it’s a long one.’ I looked at her and she nodded, encouraging me to go on.
‘He is an ex. His name is Ezra. We dated for about 3 years when I left uni, we met at some pub and bonded over our love of beer. It started off great, we liked the same clothes, movies, music and I fell in love. It quickly went downhill, it started with petty arguments over silly things and went into full blown screaming matches. He got jealous easily, and hated me having friends and not spending time with him. Eventually I was cut off completely from my friends and family, and he made me feel like I needed him. I needed the relationship, and if I didn’t have him no one else would love me. The first time he hit me was halloween and we went to a pumpkin patch and when we got home he said I flirted with some farmer guy when paying for the pumpkins. I know now it was wrong but then, when I was in there I thought I had done something wrong. From there it became almost daily, over small things like the washing up or being home late from work. Eventually, I realised what was happening after a particularly bad incident and left. I packed my bag and left in the middle of the night, I went to Orla’s after not speaking to her for years and she took me in and acted like we hadn’t not spoken for years because of him. This was about 7 months ago, right as I applied for this. He stopped contacting me a few weeks after I left but now he’s back.’ I took a deep breath after to clam myself, and looked at Jess.
She was staring at me, in shock and took my hand over the table. ‘I am so sorry you went through that, you deserve more than that and I am here if you need me.’ She said, I smiled at her and looked down trying not to cry. ‘Thank you.’ And that was that, we quickly changed topic and she started talking about how she is excited to show me America.

32
Well, Seann, you did it. You made to 32 years old. Isn’t that something?
Your life isn’t really what you thought it would be, is it? Remember back in high school, when you thought that you’d have a house and be making six figures by now? Ah, the optimism of youth. Instead here you are, renting one-fourth of a two-bedroom apartment, barely keeping above the poverty line. You probably should have seen that one coming, if I’m being honest.
That’s not to say your life is awful, of course! You’re in love after all. You live with a woman you love dearly, who loves you back, and it was just five years ago that you would have scoffed at the idea of that ever happening. So much has improved in just the last half-decade.
Five years ago, you worked at a retail outlet where the phones never stopped ringing no matter how much you prayed they would, and you despised everything about your own life. That was the only period of time in which you ever self-harmed. Remember that? Do you remember taking the sharp metal tools meant for phone repair and scratching up and down your arms until you drew blood? Do you remember the sting, the feeling of release? Do you recall your conviction that everything painful in your life was some kind of deserved punishment, and that if you hurt yourself enough then maybe—just maybe—you’d balance out the cosmic scales and everything else wouldn’t be so bad?
How very Catholic. I guess thirteen years of parochial schooling will leave its mark on a person, no matter what.
But that’s all the past now. Now you have a job you love. Sure, you need to buy new insoles because your feet are always in pain, and sure your car broke down so now you need to take the bus to work and it eats up hours of your day, but when you walk though the doors of that doggie daycare, dozens of wagging tails and furry faces are excited to greet you. That counts for something.
What do you think the dogs think that place is? Who do they think you are? Every day their parents take them to a place full of friends, where they can run wild and play. Would that we all could live a life like that.
Then at the end of the day, you get to go home to your girlfriend. You see her smile, you kiss her, and the two of you rest your heads on one another. No matter how tiring the day may have been, you have that. You’re secure, you’re happy, and you’re content. Life is good.
But not everything is sunshine and roses. There’s still that whole “living just above the poverty line” business. A single accident or the mildest streak of bad luck is all it would take for this life of yours to come crashing down. It’s hard to enjoy the good things when you have that knowledge there, always looming over you from the back of your mind.
And speaking of your mind…
There’s two parts of you that you’ve never been able to kill, no matter how hard you’ve tried. The first is an ugly thing. It’s selfish and envious and always raging. It’s that bitter part of you that thinks you deserve to live off just your writing, that seethes with jealousy whenever you see another writer succeeding, that curses and hates everyone who scrolls on past a post about your books or your Ko-Fi or your Patreon without ever clicking through and buying something. It’s the part of you that hates the world for not showering you with money and praise at every opportunity.
It’s a childish thing, and it should have died with childhood. But still it lives, and even though you try your damnedest to stamp it out and starve it, to bury those feelings and smother it with your shame at experiencing them, it continues to thrive. You have failed to kill that part of you at every turn, and now all you can do is try to ignore it. Let it shout and seethe by itself, without your voice to focus it.
The other part of you that you can’t kill is a beautiful thing, but that just makes it worse, doesn’t it? It’s hope. It’s the part of you that thinks you could make a living off your writing, the part of you that, whenever you finish or start a project, thinks “Yes, this is the one. This is going to be my big break. It will be a success, and it will make me a success, and everything will be alright.” And no matter how many times that doesn’t happen, still that hopeful part of you refuses to die.
These two parts, seemingly so different, are tightly connected. They feed on each other, in a way. The ugliness grows with the beauty, and the beauty in turn grows with the ugliness. Hope rekindles itself in the face of defeat, but so too does resentment fester. You fear—no, you know—that so long as one lives, so too will the other.
It’s your birthday, and you’re doing the same thing you’ve done the past few years. You’re running a promotion, trying to entice people to join your Patreon or your Ko-Fi; it doesn’t matter to you which. That hopeful part of you thinks that you can make a lot of money off this—after all, surely the offer of free books will entice people!—but you know that even getting one new subscriber would be a minor miracle, and two would be more than you should dare to dream of. You’d be thankful and grateful if this led to any subscriptions at all, and you’d never know quite how to express that gratitude. You’d just let it fill you, and drown that awful envious part of you that rages that it’s still not enough.
You live in Capitalism. Nothing can ever be enough. That’s the whole damn point of the system.
And sometimes these two seemingly unkillable parts of you come together in mourning. In the face of failure, they wonder if maybe you don’t deserve success after all, if maybe you can’t achieve it because you aren’t good enough. It stands to reason, right? If your writing was better, you’d be more successful. That’s what you’ve been taught your whole life.
Maybe you deserve poverty. Maybe you deserve worse than that. After all, look at all this bitterness you’ve allowed to fester within you. Does that not make you a bad person? Does that not make you undeserving?
Yet even in this darkness, that hopeful part of you still refuses to die. It drags you out of the pit and it makes you try again, and again, and again still. You force yourself to keep going, and when you go to work and the dogs look at you with such uncomplicated joy, and you go home and she looks at you with such love, you can’t help but wonder what they’re seeing. Whatever it is, you wish you could see it as well.
So you trudge on, guided by your hope, and if feeding that ugly, selfish envy is the price you must pay to hold onto it, then maybe that’s a fair bargain after all.
A whole new year is stretched out before you. There’s so much you want to do with it, so much you want to accomplish. The truth is that you’ll probably fail on most of the goals you set for yourself. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be a few successes, small though they may be. In a world like this one, every success is something worth celebrating.
Happy birthday, Seann. Welcome to Thirty Two.

Dealing with Schizophrenia
Saw a post earlier about schizophrenia and it really got me thinking about my own issues. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia, depression, and anxiety disorder ages ago and I really had to learn how to pace myself to survive. Despite the various issues I had to deal with on a day to day basis, the world never slowed down for me (why would it, after all). I remember back when I was a floral clerk at a Fred Meyer I would sometimes hide in our cold storage for our flowers just so I could take a breather. Having to manage the day to day of a busy retail job while a bunch of voices in your head are prattling on, arguing with each other, and telling you to do all sorts of terrible things is... Difficult, to say the least. When I’m not too stressed out I only deal with negative symptoms, but when I’m in stressful situations my positive symptoms can resurface. I’m glad the only hallucinations I had at that job were auditory because if I had any of the visual ones I had in the past that would have been it. Instead of trying to focus on the task at hand I’d be running full speed from the flesh monsters. (I wish I was exaggerating but I’m really not.)
For those who are just learning about their condition or have been struggling with it for years like I have, my heart goes out to you. You’re far stronger than the world gives you credit for.
Also, here are some tips for those who might need it:
Stress can and will exacerbate your symptoms, so be careful not to overburden yourself with too many responsibilities and obligations. You shouldn’t avoid these things entirely, but try and learn your limits so you can better manage your stress levels and lead a calmer and more controlled life.
Bouncing off the first tip, it’s impossible to avoid stressful situations all the time, but you can take steps to make things easier on you. When you need to go on a long commute, consider bringing comfort food/drink with you. Overeating can be a bad habit too, but there’s nothing wrong with having a little treat for yourself every once and a while.
Do you have a personal belonging that brings you great comfort, helps you focus, and/or helps you block out negative thoughts? Keep it with you! For me, I never leave home without my mp3 player because music helps me cope with stress and helps me focus on things.
Do what you can to keep up with your basic needs. Drink plenty of water, get plenty of sleep, keep yourself fed, and practice good hygiene. It can be tough to feel the necessary motivation sometimes, but I guarantee you that you’ll feel x10 better if you’re hydrated, fed, well-rested, and clean.
Finally, try not to make too many excuses for yourself. I know that may feel contradictory alongside me saying schizophrenia can be a struggle, but I feel it’s important to avoid throwing your hands up when things start to get too difficult. We need to take care of ourselves and know our limits, but we also don’t want to let those limits increase, you know? You can’t let your symptoms beat you. You’re stronger than that. Be patient with yourself, take a breather when things get stressful, and when you’re ready, keep on keeping on.
Also I do recognize that my tips aren’t going to work for everyone. I’m just sharing these because they’re things that helped me manage my symptoms. Part of the struggle is figuring out what works for you. I wish whoever is reading this the best of luck. Stay strong, everyone!

What’s In A Name
Changing your company name is always risky business, yet we have seen it done by two major players in the last couple of years. Google became Alphabet, and Facebook became Meta. Of course, some of us will probably continue using Google and Facebook the rest of our lives, if only because that’s what we were accustomed to using, but at least in the stock market, they are now Alphabet and Meta.
But what about when you ditch your established name for that of a business that just filed bankruptcy? That’s what Overstock dot com is doing. They paid $21.5 million for the intellectual property rights of Bed Bath & Beyond, which includes the name. As for Bed Bath & Beyond, they are liquidating anything and everything that might have residual value, because there are still creditors to be paid.
And in one of the biggest head-scratching moments I’ve had in a long time, they are taking on the name of that chain. No brick and mortar stores, just the IP. The updated website launches in Canada soon, followed by the US.
Tumblr media
Basically, Overstock, which has endured its own woes and sales declines, thinks the BBB name is worth more than its own, that by taking on this new moniker they will be able to turn the ship around. They are betting there is more brand equity in the BBB name than in Overstock. Furthermore, they believe there is more equity in the name alone than all of BBB’s stores and inventory depth could leverage in the first place.
Let’s see. Buy the name of a failed retail concept, and then give it another whirl. It’s actually not a new idea, because Retail Ecommerce Ventures (REV) has been scooping up retail brands for several years now, and relaunching them as Dotcom enterprises. Their holdings include Tuesday Morning (which recently shuttered), Pier 1, Dress Barn, Stein Mart, Linens-N-Things, and more. So Overstock is not alone in having faith in brand names, even if we the consumers did not have faith in the company in its entirety.
Bed Bath & Beyond died a very painful death, drowning in debt, and weighted down in both inventory and real estate. Worse yet, as it became painfully apparent the company was swirling down the drain, its vendors started cutting them off. I recall going into the Amarillo BBB while it was still open, and noticed large gaps along the shelves. They could not get replacement inventory once they did sell something. It looked painful, and I bet it was tough having to report to work there every day. It was depressing.
I am still unsure why Overstock thinks its own name is dead. Is Wayfair giving them that much of a run for their money? I recall many of us giving Prince a hard time in 1993 when he changed his name to a symbol. An unpronounceable symbol, mind you. He became “The artist formerly known as Prince.” What was he thinking? He already had the perfect brand.
I am not ready to make predictions on Overstock…I mean the new BBB—just yet. I was never really a regular of either, and probably won’t be in the future, unless they start charting some new territory. Overstock will have to re-educate its customers about the name change (simple enough with a redirect in the HTML code if you type the old name), as well as training people to know that this isn’t their grandma’s Bed Bath & Beyond anymore. It’s Overstock, meaning otherwise unsellable merchandise on its first trip through the agora, now at bargain basement prices.
I’ll be watching, because this is an unusual move regarding names, but not unusual in the relaunch. As for Alphabet and Meta, they are both tearing it up in the stock market right now. Maybe it really isn’t all in the name.

Give a fact about Susan? pretty please lol
Susan is 1/6th spruce grouse on her great grandfather's side, her great grandmother met him on the way west.
Susan was hatched and raised for the majority of her childhood in Collinwood Tennessee until after her grandma passed on and she family moved closer to Duckburg.
At the age of 6 her childhood fascination for medieval culture and fantasy literature made her want to be a jousting knight in the renaissance fair when she grew up, with a 6 year old's assumption that she'd live at the Renaissance fair if she worked there. She'd practice on her bike with a broomstick in full armor made from pots and junk, until she had a wardrobe malfunction when the towel she was using as a cape got caught in the spokes of the backheel and pulled her under. she still has the scar.
At the same time she was recruited into the ladybird-scouts by her mother which she had lukewarm feelings about. She did appreciate learning, goal setting, money management, and business ethics through their cookie program, along with their crafting activities like sewing and sculpting, and outdoor and survival skills. However, she failed at her people skills, decision making, and leadership skills. Even though she wasn't the worst ladybug-scout she was still seen as subpar by her peers. She was, later on, allowed to drop out.
She didn't have much of a happy school life (but then again, what child does), being constantly picked on by other students for her interest. She would mostly just take it but would fight back when she saw anyone bullying her friends, younger brothers.
When she grew into her early teens she was able to convince her parents to try to work freelance at the Renaissance fair selling costumes and D&D figurines she made herself for the summer. With her experience in the ladybug-scouts she was able to make a profit but just barely due to her social activities, people constantly trying to haggle her prices down, some of her figurines getting stolen. This disillusioned her and caused her to give up on the fair and look for a different career to pursue.
While she attended college she was able to find part time work as a caregiver at a  retirement home, which she enjoyed and was very good at. This is where she was when the Moonvation happened. For the entire duration of this event she, along with the patients and the rest of the staff were held hostage by the moon-landers in the retirement home, playing the negotiator and peacekeeper between the retirement home and the moonlanders. There were few times she had to prevent some of the war veterans from trying to revolt against the aliens to keep everyone from being blasted by their ray guns, and throughout the whole invasion she would try to get in touch with her family and check on them but couldn't get any reply.
She used the rest of her student loan to buy out the crop duster plane they'd rent from McDuck enterprise and the cheapest flying lessons she could get, and started exploring the world to look for any part of her family that's left.
Some of the jobs she's worked through her travels across the world range through babysitting, dog walking, retail, waitress, promotional mascot, and swimming pool/waterpark life guard. Out of all of them she likes retail the least.
One of her most prized possessions is a Mystic the Collecting card of The Black Lotus. It was given to her as a birthday gift by her father. Though it's not an original, just a reproduction, she keeps it as her good luck charm.

My least favourite kind of conversation is that one about jobs in which an abled person who works from home tries to explain to me that if I had studies (I do), if I was willing to move (I did) and tried to take more risks/responsibilities (I did) then I'd have a better job that (somehow) doesn't exploit me.
For some reason (<- sarcastic, on the brink of rage) this same person is always the one that has bad experiences with retail or hospitality workers.
I wonder why (<- sincere) it is always tech types that I hear these takes from. Like I could name at least 4 people (that I remember, it might even be more) that this rant applies to because I've had like the exact same discussion give or take a few words whenever the topic of working in a small town comes up.
"Should have gotten a better degree". These people live in a reality in which thousands of devs are not getting fired and programming is not getting done with AI in hopes of cutting costs.
"Should have moved to a place with more jobs". I did. Then a pandemic hit at the same time the country decided to leave the EU. Lost my job and had to stay on a place for several months by myself because flights got cancelled and other shit went down. Rent was obviously still paid, lest my landlord starves of course.
I lost track and didn't even count how many offers I applied to last year. I barely got a phone call like ~10 times. In person interviews were 3. And those 3 were the kind of shit that I'll talk about for the rest of my life. Like. 9 hours night shift. 7 days a week. For 1100€. I managed to not laugh in their faces but come on.
And I'll tell these things to these morons that work useless but very cozy jobs and they'll be like "just negotiate better" or some shit about supply and demand, the two genders of economics.
If someone is upset about the current state of the world "I got mine good luck to you" is not what they want to hear.

Ultimately, no matter how keen or impressive you appear to be to a potential employer in another industry if qualifications are required, you need to have them. Start networking Next, start to get your name out there. Speak to your local recruitment consultants who will be able to explain what your options are. Build up your soft skills Soft skills will help you show your potential employer that you are flexible, adaptable, and can communicate well with all types of people, from customers to CEOs and board-level people. And in many cases, you will find that with good soft skills, you will be able to walk into almost any kind of industry, as long as you have other transferable skills to back it up. Ignore the inner demons Over the course of your attempt to change industries, you are likely to suffer rejection. But don’t let this play on your mind. How to Win the Thai Lotto
Thailand lottery prizes are based on the lottery number that the player has selected. หวยคำชะโนด can only claim the prize if they claim the winning ticket within two years of the draw date. The winning ticket must be presented along with the winner's Thai ID card or passport. After the winner has claimed the prize, he can collect cash from a local lottery agent. The local agent will charge two to five lots per 100 baht. The first Thai lotto was published in 1868 to celebrate the birth of King Chulalongkorn. An Englishman named Mr. Alabaster was hired to oversee the lottery office. This lottery became a hit among men, but now more women are playing than ever. Thai lotto players can increase their chances of winning by following some basic tips. Listed below are some of the most common tips: The luckiest lottery players in Thailand often choose lucky numbers. However, lottery winners have found that purchasing numbers on estimates may cost them money in the long run. Another method to improve the chances of winning is to study numbers in advance. Purchasing lottery tickets on a good number can help you win the lottery. Remember to play the lottery regularly for as long as you want, as quitting early can hurt your chances of winning again. Thai lotteries hold 2 draws a month. Winners are announced at the conclusion of the draw. หวยคำชะโนด can also learn more about VIP number games on the official website. Thai lottery results are released shortly after the announcement. To maximize your chances of winning, be sure to check the results before purchasing your tickets. However, remember that despite all the tips and tricks, some people are not so lucky. Therefore, it is vital to be patient and learn more about the game before buying the tickets. The new lottery scheme is expected to increase the number of lottery tickets sold by about seven to eight million. There are two draws each month: the first on the first day of the month and the 16th on the first after a public holiday. The winners must visit the GLO office in Bangkok to collect their prize. The GLO also oversees the allocation of money from the lottery to various charities, which has been criticized as unnecessarily corrupted the lottery system. The lottery tickets for the Thai lottery are pre-printed and have anti-counterfeiting features. They can be purchased from retail agents or from lottery vendors roaming the streets. The lottery vendors carry their signature slim wooden ticket briefcases and sell them outside of shops. The lottery tickets are available in pairs. One ticket costs about 40 baht. They are only sold in pairs. If you buy two tickets, you can increase your odds of winning. The Thai Lottery is only one of two forms of gambling allowed in Thailand. However, the Thai people are avid gamblers. Thai lottery tickets are carefully chosen and played seriously. People from all walks of life choose their numbers carefully to test their luck. If you win a jackpot, you can be rest assured that you'll soon be rich! The government taxes winnings only at 1%, so winning a lottery ticket is a great way to invest in your future.

Are Penny Stocks in a Bear Market?
Are Penny Stocks in a Bear Market?
Stock market turmoil is here whether you've noticed it or not. The downturn of the entire stock market is happening for six months already, the professionals are well aware and the retail investing community is unfortunately learning the hard way. Are penny stocks in a bear market along with the rest of the market? I think the answer is obvious but some investors may not agree.
Identifying Penny Stocks
For the sake of argument, we will consider any security trading for less than five dollars per share a penny stock. Many times this is open for some discussion as some financiers consider stocks trading below ten dollars as a penny stock. Five hundred pennies is where I draw the line. Identifying penny stocks below this level will put this topic into perspective much better. As the entire market has trended down in recent months for various reasons, the penny stock world has been affected more than the remainder of the market.
Penny stocks entered a bear market as early as September of 2021. Some financiers refer to penny stocks as growth stocks. It provides a more general term for low priced securities not necessarily pinning them to their price per share. Well established, well seasoned, consistently profitable companies are the exact opposite of growth companies. So a penny stock company is in fact an unseasoned, not yet established, unprofitable company. This description makes it easier to understand why penny stocks are in a bear market.
Is It a Good Time to Invest?
Some people find a silver lining in current market conditions particularly in the realm of penny stocks or growth companies. The entire spectrum of low priced securities is down therefore making it a good time to invest if you can weather some downtime. The problem with investing in an unprofitable company during times of economic downturn is cash burn. Cash burn, or using shareholder funds to finance the company when it is unprofitable only adds to the risk with the penny stockers. This situation of using company cash resources is exaggerated when the surrounding economy is struggling.
In recent years, retail investors have pumped cash into low priced stockers thanks to a high energy economy and recent stimulus check being deposited in checking accounts across the country. The pandemic left many cash heavy, internet savvy citizens trying their luck in the stock market. New investors are always drawn to low cost securities first by default. This novelty seems to have worn off for now and created a penny stock bear market. As free cash dissipates from the market, the growth companies were the first to feel the pain. Combine the lack of fresh cash flow with an overall economic downturn and you have an elevated risk for sure.
The likelihood that penny stocks can pull out of this dilemma is not very good in the short term, however those that can withstand the risk and are also capable of exhibiting patience may be rewarded handsomely in the long run. You can ignore the penny stock bear market and try to capitalize on it, or not...
