I always think about this line.
It breaks my heart that, in the past, Kai has gotten angry enough at Nya to warrant this line.
But his response is nice.
No denial about his anger issues, no outburst, just reassuring Nya that he is not mad. He even says "of course not", because he could never truly be mad at her.

saw someone saying Etoiles death was like a supernova and fuck man.
the death of a star, collapsing in on itself, unable to bear its own weight. this great, unbelievable fallout from its death, a phenomenon that’s colossal, that’s celestial. Etoiles who’s confidence collapses, who’s streak is ruined, because he took on so many codes at once assuming there were no tricks he wasn’t aware of, and lost. the loss of a star can mean the doom of the planets it provides for - Etoiles loss means he can no longer properly protect the island from the codes. no more heat to provide warmth and growth, no more shield to provide protection.
stars die like anything else, but to witness such a thing in this lifetime? it seems like it should be impossible. and yet here we are

trollhunters s3 spoilers below
it's my 5th time rewatching it now, with friends this time. and just... the entire ending of s3 enamors me so heavily. it's just this ultimate culmination of the death of innocence.
and it's not bad AT ALL.
the moment Merlin tells Jim "you get the choice to become stronger and be the foe that your villain fears, or you can take your chances as you are. if you stay like this, it's entirely like you'll be killed. and if you change... a part of you is going to die forever."
you just. you immediately know the stakes. i understand that it's quite literally Jim losing his humanity, he becomes a troll, yes. but i equate it so heavily to the loss of his innocence, of his literal human-nature to love and care. because he becomes so animalistic afterwards, it's like watching someone spiral. it's a walking tragedy, especially after you watch the whole show and you can't help but UNDERSTAND WHY he's spiraled so hard.
not to mention, just... the mastercraft of the bathtub scene. it's a sensory overload of every single reason Jim wants to stay human, but at the same time, it's the EXACT reason needs to turn in order to protect all of those he holds dear.
and not just that, the fucking... the deliberate framing. he's alone, locked himself in a room. there's a phone ringing on the counter, but he can't hear it and he refuses to look. he's just sitting there, quietly, going back and forth constantly to decide what to do. his whole family and friends are beating on the door, trying to get to him, but he just won't listen.
the fact that they bleed Anton Yelchin's lines into Emile Hirsch's at times, as if it's a moment of saying goodbye to the previous voice actor. like a passing of the torch. it's almost symbolic of everything he's going to do going forward: letting his humanity, his entire self, die.
i swear, barely any shows i know these days can evoke emotions like that. where the visual metaphor of someone committing suicide is so powerful that you have to just reach out constantly and beg and hope and pray that he will turn around and open the door instead.
it's hopeless incarnate. it's the death of innocence. it's watching the quiet death of someone who just wants to better for the people around him.
it's so fucking painful, but it's god-tier story-telling and animation. i can't even imagine how they managed to write that all down.

Kaeya Hangout Spoilers
angst warning
Everyone at Mond keeps looking for Kaeya whenever he disappears. It's a reoccurring thing where people tell him to visit more, to stay, to come back.
If Kaeya is, let's say, permanently gone, how could anyone ever hope to explain to Klee that Kaeya isn't simply grounded? That he won't be able to tell her bedtime stories again like he used to? That the one who bails her out and saves her from solitary confinement won't do so ever again?
How could the Dawn Winery staff reconcile with the fact that their gentle boy, their sun, would never return home ever again? They keep telling him to visit more often. They miss him so much, and everything feels lighter whenever he comes back home. What if that all ends?
Diluc seems to be afraid to say it, but he is quick to miss Kaeya. He immediately looks for Kaeya the moment he loses sight of him. Would he keep looking left and right? Up above Celestia and down below Khaenri'ah? Keep turning around in hopes to find a hint of blue again? A shade of blue so rare that he'd never find it ever again?
Venti would mourn for what could never be. He keeps saying he wants Kaeya at the end. He blessed his child, promised him a bright future. What a huge failure to lose one of the people he wanted to be there at the conclusion. The poetries would end. The wine would be less sweet. The hymns are silenced.
Khaenri'ah may have lost one more of their people, but Mondstadt would lose one of their brightest stars

it's been so long since i rewatched the Unsaid Emily episode of JATP but holy, shit does it still hit so fucking hard
when luke's hiding in the bushes outside of his parents' house because he misses them- misses his mother- and regrets the way he ran off, but was too proud to apologize. and maybe too full of guilt and regret to come back before he did what he set out to do.
but he missed her and she missed him and he wrote an entire song about it and his band sang it together and im just 😭😭😭😭
maybe after his band played at the orpheum he would have gone back. maybe he could have gone back and said "look! i did it! im sorry for leaving but i did it! can i come home now?"
maybe that would have been enough to start mending the gap
maybe they would have had a chance to play more than one song, and maybe the second would have been Unsaid Emily, and maybe she would have known. maybe she would have been standing by the door waiting for him to come back.
but he dies, and the song is lost for twenty years, and his mother never knew that he was so sorry or that he even thought about her after running away, not until julie.
he gets the chance to finally say everything he always meant to say to her, he gets to see his mother read his old words and read the love in them.
im nearly sobbing from this scene again it's so fucking good. so powerful.

LOVE that an interviewer asked Greta Gerwig about Ryan's Ken's bizarre laugh "haa haa haaaa" all dragged out and throaty, and she said Ryan literally did that all on his own and after he did it for the first time she told him "that is the weirdest laugh I've ever heard. go for it. use it" LMFAO

I am going to redesign all of the Camp Cretaceous kids teenage versions. They were at best Odd and at worst Ben /LH
Starting with the number one most chilling of them all, I have redesigned 17-ish year old Ben to not strike fear into my heart.

the man who falls – secret origins (1989)
[ID: Two cropped comic pages of Bruce Wayne as a child after falling into a cave and being ambushed by a swarm of bats. There's multiple narration boxes over the pages:
Page One: a three panel sequence of Bruce being rescued by his father. In the first panel, Bruce is screaming with his eyes squeezed shut in fear. He has his fists clenched in front of him and is wearing a reddish pink turtleneck sweater. The narration says, ‘Again, he shrieked — not in terror, but in despair...’ In the second panel, Thomas Wayne is shown from behind in a low angle. He's wearing a red sweater similar to Bruce and is holding a flashlight as he jerks Bruce into him. Above them is bats surrounding them and the broken wood floors that Bruce fell through. The narration continues, ‘The arm curled around him, muffling his voice, and his cheek rubbed against the rough wool of his father's jacket... He squeezed his eyes shut, willing himself to be away from here—’. In the third panel, they're standing outside. The narration reads, ‘When he opened them, he was in the area behind the mansion, in the pale light of the autumn afternoon, and his father's words pounded at him—’. Thomas is kneeling down in front of Bruce in front of the hole he fell in. He's gripping the child's shoulders as he scolds him, “Idiot! I told you never, never to go off alone. Didn't I? Didn't I?” Martha Wayne is behind them with her hand on the side of her face as she looks at them with relief that Bruce is okay.
Page Two: Martha is defending Bruce as Bruce has his head down. Thomas is still squeezing Bruce's shoulders as Martha tells him, “Thomas, he's frightened.” Thomas replies, “He damn well ought to be. He could have been killed.” Martha replaces Thomas's spot in front of Bruce, kneeling to gently place a hand on his upper arm and using a handkerchief to wipe his forehead. Bruce is standing with his fist still clenched and grimacing as Thomas angrily says, “He's got to learn.” Bruce is shown in a low angle, looking up at his mother with wide eyes. The narration continues, ‘He listened to his father's boots crushing the dead grass, and when he could no longer hear them, he dared to ask:’ “Mommy, was I in hell?” Martha soothes, “No, baby, that was just some old cave. You're safe now,” as she hugs him. His cheek is pressed against hers and she has her eyes closed as Bruce still looks uncertain. END ID]
