What were you doing at 10:30 this morning?: Sending out my last few emails before we had an all-day workshop at work. We had a mock pitch presentation contest of sorts and my team won 1st place :)

Is there anyone else in the room with you?: Nopes, it’s just me here.

If you married the last male you spoke to, what would your initials be?: That was a barista at Starbucks and I didn’t even catch his first name, much less his surname.

What did you have for lunch today?: Skipped lunch as usual but I did have an iced Americano. Was too nervous to eat anyway as our turn for the presentation was right after lunch.

Was your last Facebook friend requests from a male or female?: Male, it was someone from the family reunion we had two Sundays ago although I couldn’t remember which one he was at all haha. I added him back nonetheless as he’s family anyway.

I haven’t seen her since before the pandemic started, but she’s one of my lowkey friendships and we’ve always remained quietly supportive of one another even as we’ve started leading our own, separate lives. She’s very perky, loves David Archuleta, and is a great singer and also skilled at the piano.

Are there any songs in your iTunes library that you’ve never listened to?: I don’t use iTunes and it doesn’t work that way on Spotify.

So, how are you? Is there anything wrong?: I’m okay. Very tired from today’s events and I even had a TERRIBLE headache all afternoon, but I’m in bed now answering surveys with the aircon right in front of me and that’s all that matters.

How do you handle awkward situations?: Idk, it depends on the situation and where I am and what options I have lol. Most of the time my awkward situations happen at PR events where the person I’m talking to is shyer than expected – in those cases, I’ll pretend to get a text or be like, “oh sorry, let me just take care of something but feel free to go around the venue and take some photos before we start!” hahaha. Who is the most intelligent person you know?: Andi.

Who was the last female you were introduced to?: Ruthie, my newest teammate at work. She’ll be replacing one of my associates who’ll be having her last day this Wednesday.

What was your first impression of her?: I got super excited when I saw that her laptop bag has a big Tata print on it, but when I got to talk to her a bit more, she seems super quiet. Hopefully she gets to open up once we get to start working more together!

Fair warning, this is a bit long!

So, for the Winx, I said that most to least likely to get in trouble was Musa, Stella - Bloom, Flora, Tecna, and then Aisha. And for the Specialists, I said Riven, Sky, Brandon, Helia, and then Timmy. Again, I do think who's the most hated greatly depends on the planet and culture, so how often they get into trouble also depends on this (for instance, Stella having a more laid back approach to certain things may get her in trouble on Zenith, but not on Solaria).

Musa: The classic problematic. It's not that she's a bad person, she's just in the news a lot. Sometimes it's about another heartbreak song, sometimes it's about a fight she had with Riven in public, sometimes it's about her dry humor and sarcasm being interpreted as mean, and other times it's about some vague tweet she wrote and never deleted. She advocates for a lot of good stuff and definitely uses her platform to try and change things so she's not the worst celebrity out there, but she also tends to speak before she knows everything and that can occasionally be a problem. She fiercely defends the others when they get into trouble and constantly vagues "news sources" (aka drama sites) so people still view her as a little negative by proxy. (Also, some people think her being a fairy of music gave her an unfair advantage in the music industry and that she isn't actually talented.)

Stella - Bloom: I'm putting them on the same level because I think they're both fairly similar in how often they get into drama. As princesses who often get involved in things, their every movement is under scrutiny. Stella handles it a lot better than Bloom due to her media training and being watched since she was young.

Bloom usually tries to stay out of the negative spotlight but that often makes her seem avoidant of important issues. She does speak up about things but it's usually after days of editing and rewriting her words so she gets accused of only talking about something because people wanted her to. She also tends to get nervous answering anything about politics or Domino so that makes people reluctant to listen to her words. Then there's the obvious drama with Sky. While they aren't as public as Rivusa, things get out quickly and when they're in a heated moment they tend to forget about their surroundings. People from Eraklyon tend to hate both of them because Bloom is "too loud and angry and just being rude" and Sky is "forgetting his place and rising to the challenge, not a great sign for a future king". On the flip side, Bloom has saved the magical universe multiple times and continues to do so. Basically, she's one of those celebrities that you either really love or really hate.

Stella is another classic problematic! Again, it's not that she's a bad person, she just gets noticed a lot. People accuse her of being classist and ignorant just because she's royalty. They also hate whenever she spends a lot of money on things like clothing and makeup because it's seen as a wasted expense (since most of her money pre-S3 was coming from her parents). People absolutely see her as a spoiled brat that can't read the room and doesn't deserve to be queen. Stella often tries to prove those ideas wrong in very subtle ways because she knows outright denying them would only further the problem. But just like the others, she spends a lot of time advocating for the good and for the better. She also cares deeply about her friends and it's obvious to everyone, even the people that hate her. So while she is in the news a lot, most people can see through it and support her. But she does still get into trouble for her shopping sprees. Her spending a lot of money on things is largely why people sometimes have trouble being on her side. It's almost always seen as a spoiled princess move and a large factor in why people think she's classist and/or ignorant.

Flora: Flora is interesting because a lot of people initially assume that because she's a very shy and nice girl that she won't get into any drama. So it's a complete surprise when she argues with people online and starts calling people out. She's often fighting for the right thing and she rarely gets her facts wrong, but people hate getting called out and they hate it when someone they think should be quiet and nice goes to town on their ass. Even the people that agree with her often think she's too aggressive in her replies (while others think her tone is fine). Flora also isn't extremely open about her personal life outside of fighting crime with the Winx so that doubles her online persona as being just mean and "too political". People say that she should just stick to watering plants and leave the politics to the actual politicians. She responds by calling them hypocrites since they were just asking for celebrities to use their platforms. She gets called out for thinking she's a celebrity. She responds that she has a large platform and people follow her for her work. It's just a constant cycle and she never runs out of things to say (which isn't bad, but it always gets her into trouble). Tbh, I can also see the exact opposite where Flora just doesn't get involved in anything because she's too busy posting pictures of her plants and random dogs she sees but, I think eventually the need to defend her friends would win out and once she gets a little taste of activism, she wouldn't stand down (yknow how she constantly berates the Winx for wanting to attack the controlled animals? Basically like that. She has very strong moral opinions).

Tecna: I had some trouble with this because I almost wanted to put her last but overall I think her general personality would get her into trouble more than what happens with Aisha. Tecna is often blunt and she doesn't necessarily hide when she doesn't like something. So sometimes reporters will come up to her and ask her a question and she'll just hit them with an "I don't want to talk to you." and then walks away. Tecna doesn't see anything wrong with this because she views being honest to the media as relatively important as they could easily find out if she's lying through spying and technology. Overall, people just see her as a little too honest and she gets into trouble a lot with being open about not wanting to interact with fans a lot or being cautious about press.

Aisha: It's a bit surprising that a princess is the last on the list no? Andros has a very good handle on things like media and press, and while they definitely aren't controlling it by any means, most news sites know not to mess with them. They're very strict on things like personal boundaries and privacy and try to protect anyone who could be affected by the media (celebrities, online personas, royals, athletes, etc). Aisha also has the best media training out of all the Winx and is really good at knowing what to say and what to share. People know just enough about her social life through sns that they aren't constantly asking about it but not enough to try and cancel her for anything. She's almost seen as the goody-goody of the bunch since she just doesn't get into a lot of drama (and when she does it's handled extremely well).

Now the Specialists!

Riven: It's no surprise that he's first I mean cmon. With Musa being the most "problematic" of the Winx, Riven is bound to get his fair share of scrutiny. People absolutely judge him for having a past with Darcy. Although... I really don't think it would be the biggest factor. While he did genuinely like Darcy, she used magic on him multiple times to manipulate his thoughts and then later betrayed him. Riven wouldn't want to put unnecessary hate on all witches, but he'd also be mad enough to eventually allude to what actually happened (he'd never outright say it since it also hurts his pride). Most people accept that he got manipulated by Darcy and assume that the entirety of the relationship was based on that, which Riven doesn't like either, but trying to defend her wouldn't exactly help his case. On the other hand, the relationship he does get hated for is his relationship with Musa. Musa definitely shares the good and cute stories about them too, but her sad/angry heartbreak songs are always the ones that get remembered. People assume he's a lot worse than he actually is and whenever Musa or one of the others tries to defend him, they just assume Riven manipulated them into doing that. However, after S4, people get a lot more understanding of the relationship and there isn't as much hate towards him (he does still get called out for being a bit brutish though).

Sky: I almost put Sky as first, but then I remembered he's royalty and definitely has a PR team. Still, he gets into a lot of drama. The Diaspro/Bloom situation was blown out of proportion and every news site was reporting completely different things. To some, Sky is a dirty cheater that lied to his wife and got some random girlfriend, "who knows how many other girls he's talking to! Someone get his phone records with Stella". To others, Sky and Diaspro were happily engaged before homewrecker Bloom came in. And to others, Sky was just the prince trying to protect his identity and got wrapped into some catfight. No one knows what actually happened with them but a lot of people start to assume Diaspro was in the wrong once it's confirmed Sky is officially dating Bloom. They start actively hating her when she tries to magic her way into a relationship with him. And that's just the relationship stuff! Erakylon's politics are so weak and absolutely crumbling before our eyes. Sky would constantly get asked about specific things to try and break him and it doesn't help that the media sites from the other royal characters are the ones doing it.

Brandon: Is this ranking a bit surprising? Idk? But anyway, Brandon would literally just get hated by proxy. Most of his "drama" includes what's happening with Sky and/or Stella. If one of them is getting into trouble, then people are bringing him into it for absolutely no reason. Brandon knows more about Eraklyon and Solaria's political climates than he will ever need to know. While he doesn't have as much media training as Sky, he does have to follow some rules just so Sky doesn't get into trouble for what he says. That means he can't speak up about as many issues and he certainly can't constantly defend his friends from harsh words. He tries to get away with it by liking comments instead of making his own. It helps a little.

Helia: Helia gets into the same exact trouble that he gets into with the Winx fandom. He's quiet and he shares absolutely nothing about his personal life. He's an artist but he doesn't post about it nor does he talk about it. He avoids talking to the press and when he does its always vague answers that could mean anything. Helia cares a lot about Saladin and Red Fountain's image and we know that what he does affects said image. So he treads very carefully and doesn't involve himself in anything. However, this is largely what gets him into trouble. People hate that he's not open about anything and some even go to the extreme of thinking he's suspicious. While Saladin's legacy largely protects him from this, it doesn't protect him from the media and random people constantly asking about his personal life. Helia also rarely if ever defends the others online (1. as he almost never looks at it and 2. because he doesn't want to get involved). He comforts them and gives advice to their face but no one else sees that so people often call him things like "pretentious, two-faced, avoidant, etc". People are also weirdly suspicious about his relationship with Flora because "it can't be that good right? there's definitely something suspicious about them".

Timmy: Timmy's just a genuinely nice guy that rarely gets into trouble. He chooses his battles (so to speak) very wisely so when he does defend the others online, it's almost always something a majority of people will agree with. Almost all of his social media is about the latest in technology and gaming so he's pretty big in those crowds but most media sites can't really do anything with that. Sometimes people from Zenith see him as weird but they recognize that he's a good match for Tecna so they're okay with him. By the time all of the Specialists are truly in the spotlight, he's already gotten buffer and more confident so those issues from S1 wouldn't be a huge deal either. The others also speak highly of him so no one really doubts that he's a good specialist. For the most part, he just doesn't get into trouble and when he does it's always connected to someone else rather than something he alone said/did.

I am sending you this ask bc I know that you try to make objective analyses of the show. I just wanted to point out something that I keep seeing in many tv shows, including hsmtmts. I don't like how they romanticise the idea of someone homewrecking a relationship bc of love. What Ricky did was wrong. At least in Descendants Mal and Ben apologised to Audrey. I really hope that the show will address this in the future seasons and teach the viewers to "never put passion in front of principle".

i do try to do like- some decent analysis on this show, so I'm kinda excited to see this ask and such :) thank you for sending it!

i will note really quickly that i don't want to claim to be like- entirely objective in any whole sense of the word. no one is. our opinions are clouded by our own perceptions of what we see. it's also been like- a fairly solid amount of time since i've seen a vast majority of season 1.

another quick note: with some of this i do defend ricky as a character, because i see him get hated on quite a large amount, but this answer is critical of the actions he takes. i'm just not going to sit here condemning him wholeheartedly for being flawed, all of the characters are. we don't have to throw the baby out with the bathwater. (btw this note isn't for you specifically anon, i love talking about these types of things, just- a caveat of sorts for people who may read this).

there's a lot of media that does use this sort of trope, and tbh cheating which comes to mind for me here, is a lot worse for me than the homewrecking thing, i truly hate the cheating trope with a passion, but it is definitely not the greatest thing morally to actively pursue someone you know is seeing someone else.

i will say the mal, ben, and audrey triangle in descendants which i've also seen is definitely a bit complicated compared to the hsmtmts triangle, given there's like- love potions involved bc this is a fantasy universe. tbh it's a huge red flag that that's how things started between them in the first place, even if he's supposedly just properly into her regardless after the spell has been broken. idk- i don't like it. like i know there are nuances, and it's disney, so it's not that deep, but- i still really don't appreciate it. i think mal 100% owed audrey an apology though, honestly she owed an apology to ben too for controlling and manipulating him.

you're right that ricky shouldn't have tried to get between ej and nini. it wasn't fair to nini to continue pursuing her this way and ignoring that she was with ej (nor was it fair to ej, but obviously ricky has no loyalties to ej, so that doesn't necessarily matter to the same extent).

to the writing's credit- i think it's SO important that a) we see that nini does still love ricky, particularly when she sings all i want in 1.04 "this song's still for you", which is then reinforced obviously when she initiates their second almost kiss in 1.08 (meaning we're not supposed to be against him in wanting her back), and b) that nini and ej don't end things because of ricky's pursuit of nini.

we can argue the nuances of that whole voicemail situation all day, and ricky was probably overstepping by sending it, but it's not his actions that cause the breakup. it's ej's own reckless choices that do. ej was right to be jealous about ricky in a way, because we find out that nini does like ricky, but at the same time, it is a trust thing. ej should be able to trust his girlfriend. that was going to be an issue regardless.

ej and nini weren't right for each other, and it's obvious this was just a stepping stone for rini to get back together, but you're absolutely right, that ricky wasn't being a good friend to nini in his pursuit of her, which is- arguably, what she needed at the time. they were best friends before they dated, and while it wasn't going to go right back to that, i think that's kind of what would've been her own best case scenario, just friendship of some kind. after their breakup in the hallway, he was definitely hurt, and that's okay, but while bettering himself to be worthy of nini's eye is positive behavior and isn't inherently an issue, actively trying to get between her and ej (which is where this gets complicated), is a problem.

it's a complicated situation, with a less complicated framing, where we sort of see ricky going after nini who's ej's girlfriend and it's like at first we see nini and we're like oh she's happy what's this idiot who broke her heart trying to do now... but then we see that it's not that simple. but then it is that simple at the same time.

even if nini isn't necessarily 100% satisfied with her relationship with ej, that doesn't make it more morally right to get between them. how much of his actions were to put a wedge between nini and ej versus how much was to prove himself to her, is where the morality kinda balances for me, and honestly- i don't know how much falls on either side.

i do want to note that i don't find what he does here any more morally reprehensible than any of the other characters' actions that we're also supposed to more or less brush over, but you're absolutely right that he's not exactly mr. perfect. in the same way we learn ej isn't, even though that's how ej is introduced. (which is funny bc we sorta meet ricky more through how he broke nini's heart, but then we learn that he is a really good guy who really does care for her.)

ricky does give up trying to pursue nini after some time, because he realizes that well- it's not fair to her. i love that ricky can't have nini's eye until he's sort of decided he probably can't have her. it's the same sort of thing as how gina was never going to get a lead until she stopped feeling entitled to one. (tbh in my mind this is the first season she's actively in contention for a lead role and i'm excited for her). as long as ricky thought that he could have nini back and continued on that assumption, he was never going to be able to, but he learned, and he grew, and he was able to deserve her again.

as to the show addressing this in the future, given there's been no real like- ej / nini / ricky related issue since season 1, beyond i suppose you could say the conversation in 2.10 about "letting her go", i doubt we're going to have much chance at a conversation about this whole ordeal. they could prove me wrong, because if season 3 is, as i suspect, at the same camp nini and ej went to pre-season 1, they might take the opportunity for ricky to be like hey, ej, i'm sorry for trying to break you and nini up, that wasn't fair. and ej'll be like hey it's fine, we weren't exactly right for each other anyway. if they do it, it'll probably be very quick and dismissive.

i say this because the way the whole narrative was framed, the ej and nini relationship would've ended anyway, even if not for ricky's interferences, and then also because we're so far past that point now. heck ricky and nini aren't even together anymore. if we were going to get any kind of real conversation between ricky and ej about this, it would've had to happen early season 2. especially given ej and ricky seem pretty much chill in season 2 by and large. they're not like- particularly close, but they're not cold to one another by any means. ej being completely over nini (2.10) kinda closes off any real reason the show has to feel the need to address it.

i want to see the callbacks to the ej/nini relationship go on with the summer camp season, i think it's a waste not to use it in some way, but that's another post for sure. not because of ej and nini's relationship, but because of the vibes. i love a good parallel moment.

lowkey i very much love the phrasing there, "passion in front of principle", because that's what the situation is at its core.

it's what i hate about the cheating trope. i think the person in the relationship is obviously the most at fault when there's cheating involved, but knowingly getting involved with someone you're aware is in a relationship isn't great either.

i don't think that's necessarily a lesson this show plans on teaching, because to me so much of the show is about following your heart even when that's not the easiest thing. that theme plays out in a lot of ways across the narrative, but i think leading with your heart is why nini ends up with ricky necessarily instead of ej, and why that oh so heavily promoted triangle is so easily decided between for viewers of season 1. nini's heart is with ricky even if ej is the smart choice maybe, he's "perfect on paper". it's why nini comes home from yac even though her moms have had to do so much to be able to afford it and even though it's what she thought she wanted.

i think it's a good lesson, for like- real people, that you should behave in a more moral way and not let your own feelings get in the way of how you treat other people, but in terms of this show, i just- wouldn't anticipate it.

Ok so it's been almost 2 days for me I have been reading what others have said on twitter and tumblr stans, I've had the time to process my thoughts and now here is my thoughts I get...

So some people hold their favs on a pedestal which is why those people are the ones SUPER hurt by what happened. We shouldn't have our favs on a pedestal or we will be let down everytime they make a mistake. They are humans just like us and aren't above others we have all made mistakes heck I've made more mistakes then I can count. We love our favs and need to hold them accountable when they do something they shouldn't but like I said their humans and they aren't perfect. A lot of celebs haven't really been following guidelines bc their so out of touch with reality and have quite a lot of privilege [especially if their white] and that is a problem that should definitely be talked about.

It is very sad and disappointing what happened the last few days both of the breaking covid restrictions with everything happening here in California and how this will negatively [ actually already has negatively] effected both Olivia and Harry. A lot are just so confused and hard and just over all tired of all this. Everything we have had to deal with as of late and now this it's just idk gut wrenching knowing all the things families [including my own] have gone through bc of the pandemic and they do THIS.

I 100% agree with people [mostly mean this next part with the twitter stans] calling Harry out for what happened it should be talked about but my issue is with some OT5s not treating each member who didn't follow covid guidelines the same. Some OT5s say they have a lane but there is a difference between having a lane and having said lane on a pedestal while having another member half out the door on supporting them. Example of what I mean their was an OT5 I saw who has a Niall lane and when we got pics of him at a large dinner party with no one wearing masks they defended him to the tooth and nail but with the Harry thing they were so upset and wanted to leave. Another example was an OT5 with a Liam lane fought tooth and nail when we got pics of Liam and Maya surrounded by a ton of people during one of the protests with neither wearing a mask but with the Harry thing they were very upset with him.

You must hold ALL who haven't fullly followed guidelines accountable bc if your giving "your lane" a slap on the wrist and then seeing flames with another member does something then it doesn't seem like you actually care about the problem at hand and you CLEARLY love and support one over another in a negative way. TBH Zayn is the only member who has FULLY followed covid guidelines throughout this entire pandemic and for that I respect him a lot more.

If your a newer stan this PR pap walk is a nightmare to you it's ok it will be ok bc if you talk to an older stan then they will tell you this is sadly not the worst we've been through. 2015 we had to deal with louis close to tears announcing he was going to be a dad when he wasn't and then had the nightmare of 2016 BG stunting every week and Dani pap tuesdays all to hide the fact that Louis is gay. So this is not the worst and to me it's welp another stunt I hope will pass soon.

Thanks to this shitty stunt they pulled Harry has yet another label on to the list of horrible labels GP or media have on him bc of Harry's management. He was already seen as a queerbaiting womanizer and an arrogant ahole who doesn't care much for his fans but now he looks like a homewrecker who sleeps with people to get movie roles. Neither Olivia or Harry will be taken seriously after this when it comes to movies. So I don't know whose idea it was thinking this would help with movie promo bc this helps no one and makes everyone involved look like a piece of shit.

I know the biggest thing that rubed people the wrong way [besides the wedding happening at all] was Harry looking happy and officiating the wedding so now some think Harry is possibly friends and actually likes jeff. But look at it this way we have pics of Harry with the CEO of Sony who EVERYONE knows is basically the devil in disguise who you don't want to mess with. Jeff's dad has ALOT of power in the western music business and when winning an award they said he was like the devil but we all love him WHAT?! MJ and Prince made it clear how BAD the music business is and many dont speak up like they do bc those who speak out it doesn't go well.

Harry has been in and dealing with the music business for almost a decade joining when he was only 16 he must have learned by now how things work and how he has to act and play apart where it seems like he likes these people bc Hollywood is all about pretending, with fake smiles and fake lives. To think it's not possible he was acting when he has 10 years of expereince of faking being happy in the business is not a stretch. When he was only 16/17 you saw him cry and be insecure now he has learned how to fake being happy and except what is going on.

A lot think it is a stretch that the wedding was all a pre planned thing to help push a narrative but look at BG. At the beginning of BG it seemed crazy to think they faked a story and changed louis whole image to make it seem like he got some girl pregnant and had him fake having a kid to hide his sexuality but it became clear that's what happened. I get called crazy and delusional on other apps daily for thinking that kid is not louis saying they wouldn't do that to him louis wouldn't allow this to happen BUT IT DID bc he isn't free and has NO say it what happens So this wedding being fake just to push a PR stunt relationship and the H is good friends with Jeff narrative is not a stretch.

There are articles that prove Jeff was already married to his wife since at least February 2020, we have more pics and articles about Harry and Olivia then of the married couple, why were there paps or drowns at a small intimate wedding of someone who isn't well known when big wedding of big celebs have no pap pics and if it was a guest list of only around 20 then why was Harry allowed a plus one date and heck why was Harry himself who is just a coworker allowed at this small wedding? If you were the couple you would JUST have immediate family and maybe your closes friend not a coworker and their 3 week gf. I think this was all an massive stunt to push a couple narratives.

One think I never get is the fans who when anything happenes stunt wise with louis they say this is all a stunt, it's fake, he has no control over anything and he's no where near free but when this happened with harry they go he's fully free, start thinking maybe Jeff and him are friends, and saying they wouldn't go to this extreme to push a narrative. NEITHER Louis or Harry are anywhere near free! I'd say the Azoffs have as much if not more power then Cowbell ever did.

My thoughts [more directed towards twitter stans here] hypothetically speaking if this was some kind of wedding ceremony for Cowbell and Louis was there everyone on twitter would say the ceremony is a stunt to make them look like their still friends after Syco parting. Just bc Harry gets promo or more response from GP, and people knowing his name then Louis doesn't mean he is anymore free then Louis. Realistically no one in the industry under Sony is free every aspect of their life is monitored and controlled.

All of what I have seen and read shows this stunt worked well even better then BG did bc I do see some fans who now think H might actually be friends with Jeff, the GP thinks he sleeps with people to get roles, the media are making jokes about this "new relationship", some henries are making jokes about him being a homewrecker. In ZERO WAY was this a good idea at all and helps NO ONE! The people running what happens to harry need to be careful bc if they keep going as they do soon EVERYONE [except henries who think he's hot] will hate him and not want to hear about him ever again. That is if this mess didn't do that already bc this stunt rubbed so many people the wrong way I wouldn't be surprised if people said I'm done I'm leaving I can't with this anymore.

I will say for myself I have been around almost 10 years supporting them hoping one day we will see them be free and happy. They are trying hard, harder then ever to get rid of us. They WANT us gone but I won't leave, I can't go anywhere not when I've been apart of this for so long already. I'm here, I'm staying, I WILL stay until they are out and free even if that takes another 5 to 10 years.

you still try to look for him even then

so r u but u seem to have better memory than him so u either have the lecture slides up if you’re a typer with your notes or manage to write your notes and still listen to the prof if you’re a writer idk yalls preferences so

and he does that a few times so you look over and he’s written barely anything so at that point he’s almost just resorted to listening to the prof and not taking notes at all

so you tell him you’ll send your notes over to him after class and he’s like !! R U SURE im so sorry im not used to this sPEED and i can’t put my hand up and ask him to slow down someone else has to do that

so class ends and you wave goodbye (confirming to meet at the benches next week too) to go to your tutorial class that happens to be right after the lecture and so does he,,

Guilty Hearts - Final Chapter

Somehow, Betty manages to put the incident at the pool party to the back of her mind for the rest of the weekend. Archie is pretty good at distracting her.

But Monday comes, and she can’t avoid the truth any longer. She knows Veronica will still hate her, and probably Jughead, but she’s kind of hoping else will have forgotten already and moved on to something else.

No such luck. It seems like word has spread around the whole school, and not one single person is taking her side. She and Archie walk in to school together, not even holding hands, just side by side, and Betty can feel the dirty looks and whispers as they walk by.

Archie notices to. “You okay?” he whispers.

Betty nods. “It’s fine. I don’t care what they think.” She’s only partly lying.

She keeps her head down in her first couple of classes, trying not to draw attention to herself. The last thing she wants is to make a scene. She’s thankful she hasn’t seen Veronica at all today.

At lunch, she finds Kevin sitting alone at a table and goes to join him. Even if everyone else is against her, surely Kevin will still be on her side. He frowns at her as she sits down across the table from him.

“What are you doing?” he asks.

“Eating my lunch?”

Kevin huffs. He grabs his tray and stands up. Betty watches him, confused. He shrugs. “Sorry, Betty.”

“Seriously, Kevin? Even you hate me?” Betty says, hurt.

Kevin shakes his head. “I don’t hate you. But you’re the one in the wrong, and I don’t want anyone to think I’m on your side.”

He leaves to find another empty table, leaving Betty sitting alone. Archie appears a minute later.

“Hey,” he says, sliding onto the seat next to her, his hand brushing her back as he does so. “How was class?”

“Fine,” Betty sighs. “But no one wants to be seen with me.”

“I want to be seen with you,” Archie says.

“Which is apparently why no one else does,” Betty groans.

“You want me to leave?” Archie tilts his head.

“No! God, no.” Betty rubs his knee. “Screw what they think, right?”

“Right.”

It’s easy to say in the moment. But then Veronica walks through the cafeteria doors and Betty’s stomach sinks. Betty watches her, but Veronica doesn’t even acknowledge her presence as she walks past. Cheryl, however does. She stops in front of Betty and Archie, hands on her hips, ready to cause a scene. Betty glares at her, daring her to try something. Archie tenses beside her.

“Well if it isn’t the couple of the hour,” Cheryl smirks. “We’re all taking bets on how long you two will last. My bet is two weeks.”

“Screw you, Cheryl,” Betty snaps. “Don’t you have someone else’s life to ruin?”

“I think you’re the one ruining lives, homewrecker.”

“Leave her alone, Cheryl,” Archie says coolly.

Cheryl turns to him. “Oh, you think you’re off the hook, cheater?”

Betty opens her mouth to respond, but Archie places a hand on her knee, as if to tell her he’s got this. He stands up. The whole cafeteria is already watching anyway.

“Say whatever you want about me, Cheryl,” Archie says. “But I never cheated on Veronica.”

Cheryl eyes him with amusement. “You really believe that, don’t you?”

“It’s true.”

“Right, so, you never did anything with Betty while you were with Veronica that you couldn’t tell Veronica about?” Cheryl asks. Archie looks uncertain. “Never… held her hand? Kissed her forehead or her cheek? Slept in her bed? Never wrote her song? Told her you loved her? Thought about her while you were fucking Veronica?”

Betty glances at Archie. His face is bright red. His jaw ticks. He’s unable to refute any of Cheryl’s accusations. Betty knows Cheryl is probably only guessing. But Archie’s reaction tells Cheryl she’s right, and she purses her lips, looking like a cat who got the cream. She’s won this round.

“I thought as much,” Cheryl says. “So, you never screwed Betty. There are plenty of other ways to cheat.”

Betty swallows. Is Cheryl right? Had they been cheating on their partners the whole time, even by simply acknowledging the feelings between them?

“You’re both despicable,” Cheryl says. She flicks her long red hair as she stalks off to join Veronica and Toni. Archie sinks back to his seat.

As it turns out, Cheryl really is taking bets on how long Betty and Archie will last. There’s a list stuck on Betty’s locker after school. She stares at it a moment before ripping it off. But she can’t stop herself from reading it.

How Long Will Archie and Betty’s “relationship” last?

Cheryl Blossom – 2 weeks

Veronica – 1 week

Toni – idk probably like a day

Ethel – 1 week

Reggie – 1 month

Dilton – 2 weeks

Jughead – who the fuck cares

Betty stops when she gets to Kevin, her eyes welling with tears. Even fucking Dilton Doiley is on this list. Does everyone in this school think her relationship with Archie is just some dumb fling?

She grabs her things and marches out of the school, tears blurring her vision.

“Betty!” she hears Archie call. She doesn’t stop. She walks faster. She doesn’t want him to know about this.

He doesn’t catch her until they’re a block away from school. Probably on purpose. She’s sure he could have caught her sooner if he’d tried. He grabs her arm and she turns to face him. As soon as she does, the dam breaks and she starts to cry. He immediately pulls her into his arms.

“Hey, it’s going to be okay,” he says. But it’s not, and Betty doesn’t feel like being comforted right now. She pushes him away. “What’s wrong?” he asks.

Betty shoves the list in his face. “They’re all rooting for us to fail!” she sobs. Archie takes the list and his eyes scan over it. He looks back at her, scrunching the list into a ball.

“They’re idiots,” he says.

“But what if they’re right?” Betty asks desperately. She probably sounds hysterical. “Maybe we should just end it now, before anyone else gets hurt. At least Cheryl won’t win the bet.”

“No,” Archie shakes his head. “Betty,” he says. He places his hands on her shoulders. “Look at me.” She does. “What’s done is done. I know it’s hard right now, but they’re all going to get over it eventually. Just give it time. And in the meantime, I need you. I need you to make this all worth it, because I love you and I refuse to listen to what they say. They’re wrong. They’re wrong, okay?”

Betty nods, though she’s still crying.

“Remember what you told me? We deserve to be happy. We have to stop feeling guilty for choosing our own happiness.”

Betty nods again. “Okay,” she says.

“Okay?”

“Okay. I love you.”

Archie pulls her back into his arms and this time she lets him, because she needs him and he’s the only thing in her world right now that makes sense.

After another day of people avoiding her, whispering behind her back, or just flat out calling a homewrecker, Betty takes refuge in the Blue & Gold office. Though she’s pretty sure no one will even read the stupid paper now. Neither Kevin nor Jughead will write for her now, and though she tries to write something herself, nothing feels genuine. She’s about to give up when there’s a knock at the door. Betty looks up to see Veronica standing in the doorway. Betty eyes her nervously, unsure if she’s about to get chewed out or if this is an olive branch.

“Hey, V,” Betty says softly.

Veronica glares at her. “Don’t call me that. You’ve lost all best friend privileges and that includes nicknames.”

Not an olive branch then. Betty swallows. “Why are you here?”

Veronica shuts the door. “I just wanted to hear it from you. Why you did it. What excuses you could possibly give me for betraying your best friend.”

Betty opens her mouth, but she’s at a loss for words. “I’m sorry,” she says lamely. “I really never meant to hurt you.”

“Well you did. God, how could you?” Veronica says, angry. “You knew how much I loved him. That I’d never loved anyone else before. Did our friendship mean nothing to you?”

“Of course not.”

“You thought you could have everything, didn’t you? The guy, the best friend. I don’t know why I’m surprised. You only ever think about yourself, Betty.”

Betty says nothing. Veronica stares at Betty with contempt.

“Just so you know, he’s never going to love you like he loved me. He’s going to wake up one day and realise that. And then it will be over, and you’ll be left all alone because you alienated all of your friends. It might be tomorrow or it might be a year from now, but trust me on this. Archie doesn’t know what he really wants.”

Veronica turns to go, but Betty calls out after her. “I loved him first, you know.”

Veronica turns back. “What?”

“You can sit up there on your high horse all you want, but I loved him first. I never loved anyone before him either. I loved him for years before you came along,” Betty says.

Veronica stares at her, as if she can’t quite believe Betty is actually standing up for herself.

“I know I hurt you, and I hurt Jughead, and I know what I did was wrong. But you knew I loved him, and I think you knew there was always a chance he loved me back. I know you’re mad at me. But I think you’re just as mad at yourself,” Betty shrugs.

Veronica snorts. “Whatever, Betty. Have a nice life,” she snaps, and then she storms out of the room.

Betty’s heart pounds. She doesn’t know if Veronica will ever forgive her. But she had to say it. Archie was right, they can’t go around feeling guilty forever. They can’t let the demons at this school dictate their happiness forever.

She finds Archie at his locker after school. She marches up to him and he barely has time to give her a smile before she grabs him and drags his lips to hers. His arms circle around her and he kisses her back. Her shoves her up against the locker, devouring her like no one is watching. Betty forgets they’re at school until someone yells, “Get a room!” and Archie quickly pulls away, his face red.

“Whoops,” he says. “I got carried away.”

“It’s okay,” Betty laughs. “Me too.”

“What was that for, anyway? I kind of thought you wanted to stay inconspicuous at school.”

Betty shrugs. “We’re happy. Let’s rub it in their faces.”

Archie grins. “Okay,” he says. And then he’s kissing her again, and they’re tuning out the rest of the world, because in the end, they only really need each other.

seems like he’s setting boundaries. lessening the texting frequency (from 2-3 times a day to 1 text every two days) and refraining from texting me at night, sending messages only in the morning/afternoon. nothing after 6pm. meanwhile, i only ever reply at night, like at midnight or past 1am or so, not because im actively trying to cross that boundary, but because that’s the only time i can sit down and put sentences in japanese together; it’s also when i write back to all my friends.

he might ghost me again this time though. idk. as i’ve said before, this time i’ll rly try to walk away. i’ll try my best not to reach out again if the conversation dies. i want to be respectful of his girlfriend and the relationship they have. i want to be respectful of him too.

Diary Entry #3 Part 1

March 30, 2018

It’s been quite a while since I wrote a diary entry. Honestly, I’m not surprised I stopped keeping up with it so quickly. I’m bad at things like this. It’s really strange going back and reading my old entries because I’m in such a different place now.

I have so much that I want to say to Megan since so much has changed since my last message to her… But she hasn’t responded & I literally talked about Lexi and Maya & I don’t want to sound as stupid as I feel. Lol.

I started slacking in chem lecture… I haven’t been reading the etextbook and I stopped taking notes. Forget what I said about him going at the right pace; for some reason that changed. ); I also bombed the last test because I didn’t pay attention in class or study nearly enough. (However, I got an A on the 1st one and he drops our lowest test grade… so it’s okay!) With the last test grade I have a C, but I have an A- without it. I also have an A- in chem lab, but I have As in everything else! Straight As is still a realistic possibility! I’m already halfway through the semester, too. I just need to start trying in chem lecture again and I’ll be golden.

Amber and I both gave up on getting jobs on campus this semester. We’re just gonna work at the DMV over the summer and worry about on campus jobs (or even off campus) next year. Mom got a new car which means I’m getting her old one for sure. I just need to get my license now! As far as apartments go, we’re also looking into places farther away from campus (and that allow pets) now since we know I’ll have a car.

It’s really weird for me reading about drama with Lexi and her mom from January because I don’t have to deal with that anymore. It’s funny how I mention not being a fan of Maya anymore… My feelings are much stronger than that now. Bitch actually succeeded in homewrecking my relationship… Idk. I’m actually really confused about how I feel. I keep writing sad/angry poems, listening to sad/angry music, and making sad/angry posts on social media… But I sort of feel fine? I don’t feel fine. I know I’m not really fine. All of these little comments that I make come from somewhere. The urge to listen to this music and make these posts and write these poems comes from somewhere. I’ve just gotten over the stage where my stomach physically feels sick. So it’d be easy to say that I’m fine, but I don’t want to because I know that I’m not. I just don’t know what to make of my feelings right now.

All of my friends hate Lexi now. Amber has been against my relationship with her for quite some time. Jamie says she’s shitty. Jordan has been talking to Robin about everything because she’s so mad. Even Sam turned so fast. Aly wants to go with Amber to return her things to her at championships… I don’t really trust either of them because I don’t want them to be rude to her… I just don't think I'm ready to do it myself & I told her not to speak to me at Championships... I don’t want my friends to hate her. I have a lot of thoughts and emotions (which I don’t understand all that well…) about what she did, but I don’t hate her. I don’t have ill will towards her. I’m upset with her for how she handled the situation and I want her and Maya to break up because I don’t think Maya is good for her… But I still care about her. She’s the only person I’ve ever even considered being with. The only person I have ever loved. It sucks because I was having doubts sometime in January and then she went and reassured me… gave me a ring with the promise to be loyal to me and marry me someday… And after a year of being with her I finally started to feel secure in our relationship and trust that it would work out. And then she went and lied to me and broke my heart. I don’t even know how I feel now.

Lost is the best word to describe it. I’m lost everywhere. I don’t feel good enough in guard anymore. I don’t know what I actually want to do for a living. I’m struggling to understand why Lexi chose Maya over me. It helps that I have Aly in almost the exact same boat as me. She and Jack just broke up, she’s on 901 with me, and she doesn’t know what she wants to major in. We’ve been making lots of plans to keep our minds busy so we don’t have to think about sad things and it’s been really helpful.

Amber and I gave up on our new year's resolution… I don’t think the gym is for her & we didn’t wanna go when we were sick… plus I’m very busy. But, Aly and I started going together again. On Tuesday we went to dinner with some guard peeps for an hour, spent three hours working out, and spent an hour at the pool. Tuesday was my best day in a while.

I haven’t spoken to Lexi since Wednesday, March 21st and I don’t intend to speak to her until May 2nd… her birthday. I keep having the urge to text her, but Aly & I have started texting each other when we have the urge to text our exes and that’s been helpful. I’m not miserable without her. I have so many wonderful people in my life and I’ve worked too hard to build myself up to let one person ruin me. I don’t need anyone. I still believe that. As much as I want her, I don’t need her. I don’t think I could ever be with her again anyway… Once someone shows they can hurt you so deeply you can’t let them in again so easily. Although she did say she wanted me to wait for her. But I made it very clear that I will not be her backup plan. And I hope that if she ever tried to get back with me that I would be strong enough to say no. I’m honestly not sure, though. She’s so very special. And beautiful. And even though she has very much proven otherwise, she feels safe.

I just… saying she wants me to wait for her sounds to me like she foresees her relationship with Maya not working out and her wanting to come back to me… and if that’s what she thinks is going to happen… why did she do any of this to begin with? Brian thinks she’s weak. He thinks it takes a certain type of person to be able to do what she did. He told me months ago that it wouldn’t end well. I should have listened. She cheated on Ryan and I always knew she fell for people easily. I never should have trusted her. I feel stupid for that. I’ve always known better. I keep wishing I could go back to December 9th and tell her no like I almost did… It would have saved me so much drama and stress and hurt.

She told me she doesn’t regret us, but I do. She told me that loving me is one of the best things she’s experienced, but I don’t believe her. I don’t believe she cared much about me at all. I truly believe that throughout this whole ordeal she only cared about how hurting me would hurt her. I asked her for honesty. I deserve that. She didn’t give it to me. I still can’t get over the hurt and confusion and manipulation from before she actually broke up with me when she got mad that I didn’t sit next to her but then wouldn’t hold my hand when I did. I keep wondering how many of our texts were lies… How much has happened with Maya and how long it has been going on… She gets to share a bed with her quite frequently after all…

I don’t get it. I truly believe that Maya is toxic. She is manipulative. She lies. She tells other people's secrets. She takes and takes and takes but only gives if she’ll get something in return… I don’t see them working out. I don’t want them to work out. Lexi deserves better. If she had left me for Nicole I would understand. If she left me for pretty much anyone else, I would understand. But it had to be Maya. Who gets left for Maya? I feel like a joke, but what else is new? I’ve been a joke to people since I started school.

I haven’t reverted back to my middle school self. I don’t write pages and pages of reasons why I’m terrible and should die. Although I have wanted to several times, I haven’t cut. I haven’t purged. I’ve been eating. I did go almost a whole day without eating or drinking anything, but I finally got Panda around 9pm. I’ve been doing the 100happydays challenge on Instagram which has helped a lot. I’ve also been keeping track of all of the /good/ things that make me cry.

Sehun walked into his dorm room with a sigh to see Yixing sitting on the couch watching a new episode of some drama on TV. He didn’t really know what to say to Yixing because of the weird series of texts they just had, but he was at least glad class was over. He set down his books onto their kitchen counter and went into the fridge to look for something to snack on, like an apple, because he had dance class in an hour and he didn't want anything to really take over too much time. He settled on a small cheese dish and platter from Publix and as he was walking out, Yixing was staring at him, amused.

“Sehun-ah. Come here.” Sehun stared at the black haired boy before walking over to him warily. "Bitch, walk quicker, I don't bite." Sehun wanted to retort but instead he walked over to the couch Yixing was sitting on, Yixing motioned for the boy to sit on his lap and Sehun hesitated. "Are you serious?" Yixing reached for his hand and latched onto to it, he pulled him down onto his lap and held him there. "Now kid, let's talk. Why do you like Jongin so much?" Sehun though for a moment, chuckling awkwardly as he messed around with his jacket string.

"If you want to know all you gotta do is add my friends to the groupchat, minus Jongin." Sehun bit his lip, he didn't know his friends, but it really couldn't be that much harm, now could it?

"Fine then, now what's your idea?" Yixing showed him his watch.

"Get to dance practice, you might miss Jongin." He smirked as Sehun struggled to get off of his lap.

"I'll be back later!" And he ran out the door. Yixing laid back against the couch and sighed, he turned over and looked at the television sullenly before getting up to grab a snack.

“Alright class, today we will be looking at our dances from last week and reviewing them! Now, you remember than you were separated into groups for your duo, so you won’t be reviewing your own dance, and it’s a group project!” The class broke out into whispers as the students contemplated the what group they wanted to be in, “Students! i jus trikejgfnkdg gotta put this out somewhere and this is the most sterile place i have.........

in the last week couple of weeks or so i started talking to this guy mostly via texts but also a lil bit face to face. thing is he is 1. my boss 2. engaged to a woman who is my coworker. none of the above shouldve been a problem bc we only started talking outside of work when the world cup started and before we were never very friendly with e/o. most of the convos were abt the football and shit but at some point we had a shift together and we talked abt other things and it was kind of nice in the way talkign to men can be nice and exhausting at the same time. and then after that shift we talked almost constantly like morning to evening which i wont lie seemed a bit excessive but i read him as a needy person and figured this is how he talks to people. anyways at some point he started referring to out “flirting” which i didnt really see was happening but afterwards started noticing and well i didnt stop it bc idk. i had fun talking to him also i should mention again that hes my boss and i honestly dk what it could mean to me to offend him like personally... not that my job is all that but still idk. anyways today we were talkign again and he mention again how our convos could be read badly especially by his fiance and we talked abt that and i mean hes fun to talk to i felt like we were becoming friends but he kept referring to non-friendly things liek making it obvious that he wants to flirt (and maybe more that that? idkkkk) so i got us talkign abt well not doing that and not participating in behaviour that could hurt his fiance and well he straight up admitted that he doesnt see how we could talk without flirting and that he wouldnt want to stop. we talked for a long time abt that and i kept pushing for a solution while he kept pushing for me to admit that i feel the same and that i wouldnt want to stop too. well i did want that bc im reallly not gonna be a gotdamn homewrecker or whatever the fuck just bc this guy needs some attention from someone hes not gonna marry bc i guess he like to self sabotage or wahtever (his fiance is like. too good for him even before all this bullshit went down idk where he gets off thinking hes like allowed to think abt doing that to her i mean whattt) so i kept leaning towards that and when i mentioned that im a lil freaked out abt the whole situation plus i dropped the f work (friend) i guess he got the message or at least realized hes not gonna get anything other than some vaguely flirty texting out of me so he sent me this ridiculously long text abt how we should just go back to talkign liek we used to (which is next to no talking was less than two weeks ago lmao) and like reassured me that this wont affect out work relationship and hes still like here for me and stuff.

anyways im fucking befuddled as to how i even got into this whole mess and genuinely have no idea if its over or has not even begun bc i feel like there hasnt been any consequences to this but in the cosmic sense there should be. idk if its gonna come from him or his fiance or like if im gonna be the one to fuck something up but like. i feel like im a sims character whose major life events happen on the span of like five days i mean. i think i almost took part in cheating? i think thats what that was? oh and i never even mentioned lmao i dont want him!!!! yeah hes fun to talk to and uh one friend said that my face when i text him (w/o knowing whose him) is a “guy face” meaning the face u make when u talk to ur crush but. its just the excitment from getting to knwo a new person (new in a personal way ive formally known him for a year and a half lmao) and i guess the flirting is nice even before u realize its flirting (rip) bc its attention u get and also uh i have an authority thing and a teachers pet thing and i always end up with the shitty guys some way or another and this is like all of it wrapped up nicely in a very dangerous packaging and now i both feel like i got broken up with (unreasonable) and like im aware of someone planning to murder me but unable to do anything abt htat (could still happen tbh).

tl;dr im a fuckign dumb ass idiot stupid fucking asshole and i wanna go back to the time i thought it was a good, fun innocent idea to befriend my known asshole about the be married boss liek hes not just looking for someone to fuck and the fire when it all goes to shit

On Why I Left the YGO Fandom

I was going to put this under a cut, but read more’s never do what they’re supposed to do on my page, so I’m forced to leave it as-is if I want to post it at all. Apologies in advance because it’s a very, veeeery long post and contains abusive experience and behaviors. And the url of my abuser (I left his accomplice out because she’s a fucking whiny bitch and would manage to yet again verbally attack me for once again putting this fat fuck’s name out there as an abuser).

So, as promised, I finally got my thoughts collected and I guess?? Somewhat organized?? On what’s been plaguing me for several months now. I know I’m basically beating a dead horse because, by now, I should be over this (because god forbid something happen to me that actually affected me long-term, I’m just being dramatic for attention, right?) but this is something I feel needs to be addressed, for my own peace of mind. So, no better time than the present I suppose.

It’s probably far from obvious, but I’ve been part of the ygo fandom for a decent while - 2011-ish? I watched the original as a kid, but was reintroduced by my now-ex through the abridged series. Along the way I’ve been blessed to meet some fantastic people, no doubt. People I wish didn’t have to see this kind of bullshit coming from me. But some of those people turned out to be…anything but fantastic.

I’m tired of not naming names, out of fear of being accused yet again of starting a witch hunt (since apparently that’s something people reaaaallly like to do these days whenever you have a problem with a nasty creep they consider their best bud and refuse to hear your side of the story) but it’s to the point where I really don’t care what happens. I’m not popular in the fandom, so it isn’t like what I say matters.

There are two-faced, evil people in this fandom and all I wanted (and still want) to do is protect others from ending up in the same situations that I found myself in.

I’m the victim of two long years of mental/emotional abuse and manipulation. My abuser is someone a lot of people probably know of, if not know well, especially those of you from the Chicago area part of the fandom. He does (or did, idk now that it’s airing Wednesdays) livestreams of new episodes. He is an enormous, loud-mouthed pervert and not-yet-convicted pedophile. He enjoys reading, writing, defending, and sharing child porn. He is narcissistic, so deeply in love with pleasuring himself (both literally and figuratively) and taking nobody’s wants and needs into consideration but his own. He is a chronic gaslighter. He fetishizes wlw and objectifies women in general (like any typical misogynistic slob). He think no means yes, and “stay away from me, I don’t want to talk to you” means “please keep trying to contact me, I actually do want to talk, I’m just being silly uwu.” He is someone whose actions have been defended by people who think “he’s just dense” instead of an abuser. His actions and the actions of those who love and adore him are ignored or justified by people who are obviously as like-minded as he is. And he hides behind the ruse of being an all out card game whiz and aficionado so people will never know what he does behind closed doors.

He goes by voices/of/chaos (slashes on purpose, btw), and I know it’s going to either be a surprise or sound like a lie because of how well liked he is here.

Primarily, he’s the reason I’ve made this choice. Him and the people who, despite knowing the kind of shit he’s done to me, still refuse to acknowledge him as the abuser that he is and choose to stand by him and support his actions. The same people are people I thought - and really, truly had hoped - were my friends, people I poured my heart and soul into and let my faith rest upon. Instead, I was given that trust back and basically told to choke on it.

It started when I’d asked to be part of the ygo panel he runs at acen. I thought it would be fitting, with how passionate I was at the time about the latter spinoffs and about things in general. However, I was told flat-out that I was “not good enough” to be on HIS panel because of my biases toward certain series and dislike of others (biases and dislikes he and I shared, mind you). Basically, because I’ve never seen gx and don’t like dm, my knowledge base was not adequate to host a panel. Yet, his gf, who now hates ygo and is stongly biased about certain series (like me), who sits up there pouting, angry, drunk (she was last year, anyway) in complete and utter silence, is definitely qualified for the job. Ok. Sure. That sounds about right. He refused to see how ridiculous the situation was (he was told this by more than just me, for the record) and instead accused me of only wanting a discounted badge - “I can’t give discounted badges to just anyone” emphasis on anyone. That was a low-fucking-blow and was the single thing that made it impossible for me to ever forgive him.

Of course, that was a more recent issue. Going back to the start, our friendship started off with me being almost duped into a poly relationship without my consent or knowledge. I was told they were breaking up and that she knew about it. I was told it was ok. That she was ok with it. What I wasn’t told was that no, they weren’t breaking up, she didn’t know what he was doing, and that his plans were to date me while he dated -and lived with- her. I didn’t find out any of that until way after the fact. To top it off, he went behind her back to try to accomplish this (she was on vacation at the time). I was then blamed for their relationship problems (that existed years before me), for making her hate ygo, for ruining their relationship, and so on and so on. He made sure to tell me this constantly, telling me my name was a ‘trigger’ for her. So now I’m a homewrecking bitch for ruining their 7+ year relationship.

And despite all of this, he actually fantasized (his words exactly, I shit you not) about me and his gf bonding over our ‘hate’ towards him. Like, excuse me? Back the fuck up mate.

If I had a nickel for every time he told me how “important” I was to him, I’d have millions in the bank. But for as much as I was told I was important, I never actually believed him. Our friendship was kept a secret online. No interactions on any social media, up until the end where he got very childish and asinine about it, and then those were only meant to shut me up. I’d asked hundreds of times to at least be tagged in things, at least mentioned half as much as he talked about the other girls in his life. He never listened. I continued to be a secret.

When confronting him on my feelings (because he only ever talked about his feelings) I was always met with rage, destructive anger, denial, unnecessary profanities being hurled my way, utter disrespect. One can only take that shit for so long. Being told how you changed someone’s life for the better in one breath, then being shit on and screamed at and told you’re not good enough in the next, being kept a secret, being denied any sort of important places or duties that he bestowed upon his other girls.

In the end, I was told I was making it all up. “I don’t know where the fuck you’re getting this.” “You must be messed up in the head.” I was told I just hated him and wanted him to suffer. Everything that went wrong became my fault and my fault alone. Actions once considered ‘gross’ and ‘awful’ by someone I considered a friend were now just a result of him being dense. DENSE. Because knowingly fucking with my head, saying I’m messed up in the head, yeah that’s just the density speaking. How didn’t I think of that before??!!

This friend put herself between us, on her own accord, then acted as if I asked her to do it. She claimed she didn’t want to speak to either of us for a while. Of course that actually meant just me because she had no problem joining him for the stupid movie that came out in January or being up his ass on the chat that Sunday. Sure, the movie was pre-planned, but at least try not to make it obvious you’re only upset at me by making sure he’s in the pictures you posted.

I was told I upset her because I ‘guilt-tripped’ her with fears of abandonment. My hands were slapped for daring to upset her, but when I mentioned how bullshit it was to see her out having a good ol’ time with the fat fuck, my concerns were passed off as nothing. As always, my needs and concerns must be pushed aside for everyone else’s.

When I finally got sick and fucking tired of him, I asked him to leave me along and to not speak to me, ever again. Funny, that was followed up by half a dozen messages all lovey-dovey (and passive-aggressive, toward the end). I thought he would have stopped after I didn’t answer the first few. But his persistence (or should I say d e n s i t y ) was incredible. Each message got sappier and sappier. The last one, though, was bitter and angry, after I once again told him to leave me alone for good. “I thought talking to me would be better than talking to no one.”

A few weeks go by. I begin to tell my story. Tell what happened. I’m accused of starting a witch hunt by someone who once tried to help me. She threatened to leave the chat - which stirred the pot big time, everyone freaked out. I threatened to leave, no one gave a fuck. So, yet again, I was made out to be the big bad guy because I upset the ygo princess by talking about the guy who abused me to the point of exhaustion. I didn’t threaten him. I didn’t ask people to go out and attack him. I was simply sharing my experiences with people who genuinely wanted to know what had happened. All it took was one wailing princess to change everyone’s demeanor.

So I did what I should’ve done after this all happened in the first place - I left. Told everyone they could have their safe space back that I was accused of ruining. And ever since, I really haven’t been too emotionally invested in anything ygo.

These people took something that once felt like a niche I belonged in, and made it hostile and unwelcoming. They say the ygo fandom is a fandom full of mentally ill people who are finding solace in something wonderful. For a while, I believed that. I know better now.

For every person that is genuine in that fandom, there’s ten others who are shitty, who make other fans fucking miserable. I was abused, my spirit beaten and broken, and all I got was several kicks in the ass and everyone turning their heads away from it all. This fandom is toxic. This fandom is littered with people who manipulate and abuse and puke their social justice bullshit over something that’s supposed to be enjoyable. It’s a fandom where popular people are exempt from being called out on shitty behavior. Where if you have enough followers, enough of a fanbase, you’re immortal. I can’t change that. The only thing I can do is remove myself and go somewhere that I consider a safe space. And this fandom isn’t it.

There are…exceptions, of course. Those characters I fell in love with prior to this shit hitting the fan are characters that will forever mean the world to me. Characters who I don’t have to associate with these people. I’m pretty sure there’s only one, but one is enough. He’s been my safe space, my heaven, the one thing that for six years hasn’t changed and has always been there for me.

But the rest? Y’all can have it. I don’t want any part of it anymore. All thanks to two rotten ass people who can’t even admit to their own wrongdoings.

As a final note to those of you who I continue to follow here, I promise you aren’t the ones at fault. If anything, you’re the ones who have kept me grounded. I’m going to continue following you guys regardless of my feelings toward the fandom. Thank you for being decent human beings. I couldn’t ask any more of you.
