The killing game survivors of Hope's Peak Academy all had their different ways of testing the waters of their new job at the Future Foundation. (Deliberate ones, and ones that just came as a result of who they were as people.) Kyoko tested the waters of being frequently late. Byakuya tested the waters of being frequently insubordinate. Hina ran laps around shared work spaces, Hiro scammed their coworkers, and Toko still wasn't technically a member.
Makoto...okay, he challenged the leadership's patience in a lot of ways, but one example that he genuinely couldn't help was that he was the first of the survivors to have to take a sick day.
And the second.
And the third.
Makoto lay in bed, groaning through a throbbing headache and feeling gross. He hadn't even had it in him to let anyone know he was sick, which just made him feel worse, because it reminded him of another time he hadn't let anyone know he was sick, and he'd almost been executed over it.
(Well, it wasn't like that was really the reason, but he still felt anxious.)
Waking up from his third nap– glancing at the clock, it looked like he was an hour and a half late for work –he heard movement in his suite. That definitely wasn't helping him not think about that one time, but it was probably just Kyoko or Hina or someone, coming to check on him.
It sounded like it was coming from his kitchen. Maybe Hiro, then. He often casually brought up how much money they could make if they sold off some of the Ultimate Hope's used cutlery. Or maybe Hina had peeked in while he was sleeping, seen that he was sick, and decided to bring him something to eat? It did sound like someone was using the stove.
Makoto dozed off again and woke to someone pulling a thermometer out of his mouth.
"101 Fahrenheit," an unexpected voice sighed. "You're usually a tenth of a degree above average, but still..."
"Komaeda?" Makoto said blearily. "What are you doing here?"
"Everyone was wondering where you were, so I took the initiative to come check before anyone more important could be forced to abandon their work," Komaeda said brightly. "I've let your friends know that you're sick. They were somewhat annoyed that you didn't call or email, so I unfortunately had to explain just how out-of-it you were when I arrived, which caused them to realize that you couldn't have gotten up to let me in. I think they're bothered about me picking your locks. Sorry about that. But I made breakfast!"
"Breakfast?"
"Here, open."
"Wait...My...locks?"
"Well, I had to make sure you were alright. I'd be a pretty bad intern if I let something bad happen. Now, here; you should eat something. Even if I made it."
Makoto ate a few bites of breakfast. A flush of pink filled Komaeda's cheeks, and he was smiling so much. A part of Makoto's fevered mind felt glad that Komaeda was this happy, but he could barely keep his eyes open to see it.
Nagito paused, setting the chopsticks down to brush back the hair that was plastered to Naegi's forehead. "Are you still awake?" he asked.
There was no answer, save for Naegi's soft breathing, accented by the quiet rasp of his congested nose.
Nagito took the unfinished food back to the kitchen. He gave into temptation and sucked the lingering traces of broth and the moisture from Naegi's lips off of the chopsticks, then pocketed them. He returned to the room and helped Naegi drink some juice. And he drank what remained in the glass after, then thoroughly scrubbed it clean with a light, giddy head and a chest full of shame.
He wiped the sweat from Naegi's brow and pulled up a chair beside the bed so he could sit there fanning him. Unfortunately, he couldn't switch hands when his wrist got sore, but he didn't mind it.
After all, Naegi needed him.
He was really lucky.

What does Taruhi think of Makoto? How did she get to know Makoto?
Tumblr media
From the moment Taruhi Hoshi laid eyes on Makoto Naegi, she knew he was different. It wasn't just his title of Ultimate Lucky Student that intrigued her; it was the way he carried it. In a world where titles often dictated one's worth, Makoto walked among them unbothered, his eyes always reflecting a genuine interest in the person before him, not just the talent they possessed.
For Taruhi, whose life was a constant balancing act between her groundbreaking genetic research and the ethical shadows that often lurked behind it (*Cough* Sage plan *Cough*), Makoto became a beacon of clarity. His unwavering moral compass didn't just point north; it seemed to illuminate the path she struggled to find in her own work. The way he supported her, not just in her successes but in her moral quandaries, wove a thread of deep affection in her heart.
They grew close, not in the loud and obvious ways of grand gestures, but in the quiet solidarity of shared glances and unspoken understandings. Taruhi loved him for the hope he wore as effortlessly as his school blazer, for the way he saw her—not as the party girl everyone judged at first glance, nor as the genius whose mind could change the world, but as Taruhi, just Taruhi.
And Makoto, he was drawn to her brilliant mind and the passion that fueled her science. But it was her empathy, that ability to look beyond the data and see the human element, that truly captured him. He loved her for her brilliance, yes, but also for her courage to face the ethical dilemmas that came with it, for her willingness to be vulnerable when the weight of her choices pressed down upon her.
As for the pivotal moment? Picture this: the school thrown into chaos, a situation unfurling that threatened to tip the scales toward despair. Perhaps someone finds out Taruhi is helping work on the Kamakura Project? Or maybe the project is heading somewhere darker than she signed up for. In these moments, Makoto's hope wasn't just a bright idea; it was a lifeline.
Taruhi, with her knowledge and expertise, would have been at the forefront, trying to contain the situation. It's not hard to imagine the pressure she was under, the weight of a mistake that could cost more than just her pride. That's when Makoto stepped in—not with answers, but with unwavering support. He didn't need to understand the intricacies of genetic manipulation or the science behind the crisis. He saw Taruhi, her hands shaking, not with fear, but with the burden of potential harm her work could cause.
It would have been a simple gesture, a hand on her shoulder, a look in his eyes that said, "I'm here with you." He wouldn't diminish the gravity of the situation, nor would he offer false reassurances. Instead, he offered his presence, his unwavering belief in her ability to right the wrong, to make the difficult choices. He believed in her, not just as a scientist, but as a person who wanted to do good in the world.
That was the moment Taruhi truly saw Makoto. His strength wasn't just in his ability to inspire, but in his capacity to stand beside someone when they faced their darkest hour. For Taruhi, that realization sparked something profound. She understood that Makoto’s hope wasn't just an abstract concept; it was real, tangible, and right there with her in that moment of crisis.
From then on, her affection for him was as much about the person he was in times of peace as the anchor he became in times of turmoil. She loved him for that breakshotwrong. Sometimes all it takes is just being THERE when shit hits the fan and secrets get leaked. That first year was truly chaotic thanks to so many ambitions and plans happening behind the scenes from various actors.
Also don't forget it could just be various interactions with Class 76 which would mean Makoto would interact with Taruhi normally even towards the first half of the year. Maybe Makoto has this abnormal ability to have 400+ soulmates and thus love at first sight for both of them? Perhaps. It's all of the above?

"Chiaki Nanami, you have been assigned a new mission. You will reside in the designated area and search for survivors, and provide them with safety until we can come gather them. We will send Makoto Naegi and Kyoko Kirigiri to accompany you. As their senior, we expect you to guide them. You will stay in the area indefinitely. Suitable apartments have been located and prepared for your stay. Good luck out there."
Chiaki looked at the message as she, alongside Makoto and Kyoko, were about to arrive at their new apartments. She was glad to get another relatively easy-going mission, but she was concerned about being accompanied by others. It'll be harder to hide that I'm looking for the Remnants on my own... Kirigiri-san especially will definitely notice. I just hope they'll understand...
She thought back to the file Ryota sent her the other day. The area she was overlooking was the same as the one the Remnants were supposedly gathering towards. I hope I can find Kamukura-kun or Komaeda-kun quickly... There's no telling when they'll all arrive or how long they'll take to start whatever they're planning. I can't afford to take my time with this.
"...Um, Nanami-san? We're here." Makoto's words made her realize she'd spaced out. "...Oh, cool. We're finally here." Finally stepping out of the car, she held tight to her backpack and joined Makoto and Kyoko in walking up to the apartments. "...So, what apartment number did you get? I got 106."
"Oh, I got 308."
"I got 309."
"...Oh, you're neighbours. Cool." Chiaki got the feeling there was a certain intent behind rooming them so close together. "...Hey hey, it's just gonna be us in the building, right? Why'd they feel the need to choose the apartments for us? We could've just picked ourselves." At Chiaki's questioning, Kyoko crossed her arms and seemed to think for a second. "If I had to quess, I'd say it's to monitor us more easily. If they where to check up on us, they wouldn't have to go through every apartment in search for us."
"...They could just ask then. Did they even check the apartments beforehand? What if mine has a broken toilet? That would be a pain." She knew she was just being petulant by now, but she really wanted to choose her apartment herself. Maybe I'll just use another apartment anyway. The keys are all in here anyway, so it's not like it matters. Hmph.
Pouting all the way inside, she picked up the key to apartment 104. ...And the key to 106 as well. She could at least check it out. Maybe she'll break a mirror or something as an excuse for why she went to another one. She waved to Makoto and Kyoko as they made their way upstairs to their own apartments. First, she went to 106 to completely innocently check it out. She just broke the mirror by accident is all. If anyone asks, it was always like this.
After that was dealt with, she went to apartment 104 and immediately noticed it was in much better condition than 106. I guess people are still wary of 4's even in the apocalypse... That's people for you, I guess. ...Maybe Komaeda-kun will try to stay in this room since he's called 'God of Death' and all. If he does, that makes my chance of meeting him much higher. She went into each of the rooms to check if they were all in working order, and aside from the lack of chairs, the apartment looked to be fine.
Chiaki was tired from the long drive over and walked into the bedroom only to immediately flop down onto the bed. Soft...
Before she could fully fall asleep, she heard a knock on her door. When she went and opened it, she found Makoto and Kyoko on the other side. "...Oh, hello... Come in..." She opened the door for them and they all went and sat on the couch. "I noticed you went into a different apartment than assigned. Trying to rebel?" Kyoko started with an easy smile. "If you're wondering how I knew which you picked, I saw you take the key."
"...Oh, you did. I should've expected that."
"You really wanted to pick your own apartment, huh?"
"...I picked it just in case the one I was assigned had something wrong with it. 106 has a broken bathroom mirror. That's gonna be annoying."
"Oh, really? Because I heard the sound of glass breaking when I was checking the neighbouring apartments." Oops. She caught me. "...You checked the apartments?" I guess it'd be a good idea to do that. "Yes. There could be something useful hidden in one of the apartments. And, there's the chance someone's laying in wait for the chance to attack us. The apartments are all locked, but it wasn't difficult to lockpick them. If someone was cunning enough to try and ambush us, they'd surely be able to pick a measly lock like this. And, since the doors all lock from the inside without a key, they wouldn't have any issue locking it once inside either."
"There wasn't anything of note inside the first floor apartments though... Well, aside from the recently broken mirror, I guess." ...My bad. "We decided to check yours last. Have you noticed anything odd?"
"...Other then the fact there's no chairs here, no. Everything looks fine... I think. But I also didn't look around that deeply, so I might've missed something." She was really curious about the lack of chairs, thought. Maybe I'll steal some from 106. "We'll take a look around, then."
"...Okay. I'm gonna take a nap. I'm sleepy..."
"Haha, of course. We'll try to be quiet, so have a good nap, Nanami-san!" Kyoko responded with something about having to check the bedroom eventually too, but Chiaki was too busy heading over to the bed for her nap to listen.
She'll probably just sleep through it, anyway.

Chapter 7
this was sooo fun to write :)) i love kyoko
SEE HERE FOR GENERAL WARNINGS AND FIC SUMMARY
Some pre-chapter notes:
More Byakuya and Kyoko antagonism. I think they should kiss
I tried reading a book with my dad's old glasses that are super-strong prescription and made myself so light-headed I had to lie down. Byakuya how and why the hell did you power through this
Implied Naegiri (blink and you'll miss it). It's just the barest shred of Naegiri. The softest suggested whisper of Naegiri
Beta-read by @moonlighttogami :))))
Content warning tags: Byakuya and Kyoko argue at each other. A lot of pettiness being thrown around.
< previous - from start - next >
The next few days, he staunchly avoids Naegi.
It’s not an easy task. Despite now having two floors worth of space to occupy, he keeps crossing paths with the other boy; who, usually, was just a few steps behind Kirigiri. Each time, Byakuya would ignore them, head raised high and eyes fixed straight ahead.
It annoys him. It seemed that no matter how careful he was, luck just wasn’t on his side. Several times he would carefully, casually, scan a room before entering, confirming the absence of a brown mop of hair and green jacket, and walk in only to realize that Naegi had been just out of his periphery. Or, not a few moments later, Naegi would walk in anyways.
A few times, the boy even dared to try and come up to him, making awkward, stilted attempts at conversation. Each time, Byakuya stood up and left without a word.
The library became his base of operations, where he could reside undisturbed. A few days ago, he was pleased with this room, and its wide selection of classic literature and academic essays, proving itself to be a mine of information. Now, however, it was a frustrating place to be.
It was a bit of a blatant observation to make, but it doesn’t make a difference to a blind man whether he’s in a desert or the Library of Alexandria. If anything, all it served was to irritate him, as Byakuya wavers between holding a book a full arm’s length away, then so close it nearly brushed his nose, before giving up entirely and setting it down on the table with a sigh.
It’s no use, he thinks, eyes sliding shut as his head begins to pound with the now-familiar tells of a migraine. The medical textbook he’d been struggling with sits before him, as blank to him as fresh-fallen snow. After a few hours of squinting, he’d managed to find a page that could have a round, circular diagram, possibly representing an eye, but it still meant nothing to him if he couldn’t read the damn thing; the exact remedy that he needed could be right under his nose and he’d be none the wiser.
It was Naegi’s fault. Byakuya had misjudged him, had thought him half-capable based on his remarkable observation skills and performance during the first trial, and mistakenly believed he could handle learning some painful truths. But instead, the insolent brat stormed off, emotional and hurt, leaving Byakuya - his benefactor - in favor of some cryptic woman who was about as trustworthy as a spider. Doing the one thing Byakuya warned him against.
The whole thing was ridiculous to the point of being laughable. He thunks his head into the open book, tired of it all. His glasses dig into the bridge of his nose, but he ignores it in favor of reaching into his inner jacket pocket, rummaging until he comes up with a folded handkerchief.
He unfolds it slowly in his lap, careful not to spill its contents. It was too loud and annoying to carry around a bottle of pills, so instead he wrapped a few tablets of ibuprofen in cloth. He picks out two of the little chalky pills, then fumbles clumsily over his desk for the cup of tea he’d left there earlier.
He’s only just swallowed them down when there’s a knock on his door. He lowers the cup slowly. “What is it?”
“It’s Kyoko.” He scowls, and sets the cup down with a quiet click. She was the last person he wanted to see, so to speak.
“And what do you want.”
In lieu of a reply, he hears the creak of the heavy library door, and then footsteps. Two sets of them, and for a moment he wonders if Naegi was here as well. For a moment he thinks so, based on the slight, green-dressed figure hovering near the door, but then they speak up, voice wavering and high.
“U-um…” Chihiro Fujisaki’s voice is a trembling, nervous squeak. She seems to be vibrating where she stood, somehow blurring even more in his deteriorated vision. “H-Hello…”
He turns to Kirigiri, ignoring the other girl completely. “Did no one ever tell you it’s rude to walk in without permission?” He asks scathingly, while discretely folding up the cloth in his lap and tucking it back into his pocket. No need for her to think he was being troubled by anything.
“I doubt you would’ve given it even if I asked.” She replies. She was already walking around, eyes scanning the shelves. ”You and Makoto had a dispute. Why?”
Straight to the point. He’s not surprised that she’s asking about Makoto, considering how often he saw the two of them together. “You’re unexpectedly direct. If only you had displayed such a drive during the trial.”
“I had my reasons.” She turns to him. “But you are the one avoiding the topic now. Please answer my question.”
How demanding. Of course, she would know of his dismissal of Naegi. He wonders if it was because that miserable fool blabbed, by words or by mere sullenness. “I had my own reasons as well.” He parrots back, offering a vapid smile. “Is there something else you need?”
She turns away and continues inspecting the shelf of case files. Apparently irritated by his uncooperativeness, or at least, he hopes so. He turns to Fujisaki.
“Why are you here?” He asks bluntly, and she jumps.
“U-um-! I, that is-” She wavers. “Uh…”
“You can speak up, Chihiro.” Kirigiri says, attention still focused on the shelf. “Don’t you have a question to ask him?”
“Th-that’s-!”
A question? Immediately, his mind jumps to his previous school years, spent being dogged by simpering, pathetic admirers. Some of the more memorable ones were persistent to the point of needing to be dealt with by force; he was not interested in repeating such an experience.
“I’m not interested in hearing it.” He deadpans. Better to shut it down now rather than later. Fujisaki seems to droop, and after another moment, turns around and flees.
“Cold, aren’t you?” Kirigiri observes, after the door shuts.
“Hardly. I could have been much harsher just then.” He actually had been prepared to say more, but he hadn’t been expecting the girl to run so quickly. No matter. “What are you still doing here? Isn’t your business done?”
Secretly, he would rather she stay. Between languishing over migraines and unreadable texts, to suffering long stretches of boredom, any company would be welcome.
“It’s not. You haven’t answered my question.” She pulls out a folder and begins rifling through its contents. “Makoto is very despondent that you won’t respond to him.”
“Is he now?” Byakuya actually wasn’t aware of that. “That’s not my problem.”
“Perhaps not, but it is a problem that he is no longer by your side, no?”
It takes a moment to absorb the meaning of her words. He straightens and turns to look at her, but she seems, to him, to be fully absorbed in the contents of the file. “...What are you implying?”
“You should take better care of the materials here.” Is what she says instead of an actual answer. She lifts a page from the file. “There’s tea all over this.”
He squints. “That page is fine. I don’t see any-” He begins, before halting. But it was too late.
Kirigiri lowers the page. “There’s no need for us to beat around the bush, is there?” She sounds almost smug. He glares, furious.
What an impertinent little... But she got him. He silently berates himself for letting his guard down, even with a headache he had no excuse. “Fine.” He sighs, lifting his hands in defeat. “You got me.”
“What did I get?”
“Do you really want me to say it out loud?”
“In that case, please confirm or deny what I’m about to say.” She slides the folder shut again, and she steps forward, voice lowered. “From what I understand, you are currently blind, or at least, your vision is impaired. You previously had employed Makoto to assist you, but due to some disagreement, you are no longer accepting his assistance.” He wonders at the sudden show of secrecy, before remembering the cameras that were present in every room. How thoughtful of her. “Am I correct in assuming so?”
“Oh, well done, detective.” He claps slowly, mockingly. “Do you want a medal?”
“I’m just making observations.” She walks closer, sets the folder on the desk. From her, she stands above him, her face dark from the dim lamp behind her. It unnerves him, more than he’d care to admit. “Byakuya Togami. What did you say to Makoto Naegi?”
He raises an eyebrow. “I’m surprised that you care so much for him. Does he draw your interest that much?” He drawls, letting the insinuation hang clearly.
“He is intriguing, isn’t he?” She nods solemnly, and for a moment he wonders if she missed the sarcasm of his tone. “But that’s beside the point. Apparently, what you said to him has affected his morale. To be frank, it’s been depressing some of the rest of the class as well.”
He allows himself to feel a bit self-satisfied at that. I hope he’s moping. It would serve the stupid idiot right. “Again, that’s not my problem.”
“It will become your problem soon. Surely you didn’t forget his performance during the last trial?” How could he? As clumsy and stuttering as it was, Naegi delivered an impressive demonstration of skill, threading logic and evidence together to the right conclusion. He hadn’t been able to suppress the pang of envy as he witnessed it, the drawing of clear lines where there had previously been none.
The thought of that sours his mood. “You say as if everything hinges on him. Do you know something the rest of us don’t?” He sneers.
“Don’t you have any other comebacks? This one’s getting old.” She retorts swiftly. “We can accuse each other as much as we want during a trial. But answer my question, now.” She slams her hand against the open book on the desk with a muffled thump, leaning over him. From this position, she is a dark shadow, looming above.
Not for the first time, he feels a surge of anxiety. Some people had strong features and expressions that even he could read, such as Ishimaru or Naegi. But Kirigiri was not one of those people; in fact, she was the opposite.
To him, she is as faceless as a specter.
He tries to discreetly swallow the lump of unease. “...Fine. But get off me.” She backs off, suddenly obedient; had that sudden aggression just been a show? “You wanted to know what I said to Makoto Naegi? All I did was tell him to be careful.” He smiles, and even on his own face, it feels more like an ugly baring of teeth. “After all, there’s no telling if he’ll survive being a hapless lackey twice.”
It’s essentially a declaration of war. I won’t let you have your way. He didn’t trust Kyoko, and likely wouldn’t even if he could see her face.
He was planning on forgiving Naegi eventually, anyways. He was too useful a pawn to throw away now.
“...How hypocritical.” Kirigiri says after a moment. “Accusing me of trying to take control over him, as if you haven’t tried doing so yourself?”
“You know my reasons for doing so. And he’s been promised sufficient reparations.”
“Reparations he might not survive to see?”
Ah. That was right. He’d been so wrapped up in his own situation, that he nearly forgot about the greater problem at hand. So far he had been lucky with the killing game, imposing enough to not be victimized and unobtrusive enough to not be targeted, and had been dedicating his time and ability to trying to find information to heal his sight or identifying the mastermind. But, sighted or not, it’d make no difference if he was dead.
This game could only have one victor, after all. And Byakuya was no longer confident that he would be able to win.
“A Togami keeps his word. Somehow or another, I will uphold my end.” He’s already prepared some of his own personal stationary, and his signet ring, and had been planning on having Naegi help him put the details of their agreement to paper. If something had gone wrong during a trial, he would’ve passed off these things to the survivor to take outside.
Kirigiri hums, hand raised to her chin as she thinks. “It’s hardly a solid promise.” She muses.
“I’m not sure what you’re trying to imply.”
“I think that you do. This agreement is based on mutual benefits, and yet it seems like you’re the only one benefitting.” She shakes her head as he opens her mouth to correct her. “What you are offering is based on a promise that you have now way of proving you can uphold. Isn’t it no wonder that he left your side so easily?”
He feels his eyes narrowing. “Again. What are you trying to imply?”
“You are incredibly arrogant for someone who has nothing.” She says bluntly. The words strike him like a physical blow, and for a moment it feels as though the wind was knocked out of him. “You know there’s nothing you can offer in these circumstances, so stay out of the way and stop interfering.”
He gapes at her, stunned, as she turns and walks towards the door. She pauses, one foot past the threshold, and turns.
“And take better care of the documents here. The one I held up earlier had a footprint on it.”

Sad DGR 1 Survivor Headcanons (I'm tipsy sorry)
MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR DGR 1 and DGR DESPAIR GIRLS
Tumblr media
None of them could ride elevators within the first year of them leaving without having a panic attack. This was learned the hard way when the six of them went up a large skyscraper to meet with the Heads of the Future Foundation and Byakuya immediately backed into a corner away from the others because he was feeling unfamiliar symptoms and had never had a panic attack before. Yasuhiro stood by him and asked him if he was also feeling anxiety. They didn't test the waters again until much later.
Because of their elevator PTSD, Byakuya has fantastic cardio health from how many stairs he climbs a day for work. Easily one of the stronger survivors because of this.
Aoi went from swimming to kickboxing. She never wanted to feel weak again.
Toko didn't write another book until well after the Tragedy was over. She wrote thesises and analysis reports on their findings of Hope and Despair when she stopped being an intern. She found it much more beneficial to work in a different department than Byakuya; she had space to process her trauma instead of deflecting and hiding. She discovered the former Ultimate Therapist in her department and started paying her for services.
After her therapy sessions, Syo didn't come out for a long time, even when she sneezed. She'd done her job: protecting her host. Syo never killed another person ever again.
Toko made sure that all of her books had happy endings.
When they were all freed and taken in by the Future Foundation Camp, they ended up bunking in the same room altogether. Makoto came into Yasuhiro's tent, unable to sleep from a horrendous nightmare, and the two made a nest of blankets and pillows. Kyoko was next, looking for Naegi, then Aoi, then Toko. Byakuya slipped in when all of the others fell asleep, curled up to face the door.
Kyoko opened her own detective agency before she retired, hiring the best and brightest and taking in several interns who reminded her of her friends. Makoto’s detail orientation, Byakuya's knowledge of resources, Toko's intelligence, Aoi's determination, and Hiro's positivity were all factors into hiring new recruits.
Makoto and Kyoko shared a bed long before they started dating. They found it the easiest way to cope with nightmares. When either one is on a work trip, the other stays at one of their friend's houses.
Makoto expected the most judgment from Byakuya when he called to ask him if he could sleep over, but he didn't say a word. He accepted him in, ordered in his favorite dinner, and watched Phantom of the Opera with him until he was asleep on the coziest spot on the long couch. Byakuya slept on the fainting couch without a single complaint.
Hiro is the most well-adjusted of the six of them due to his age, maturity, and tools that he picked up from past therapy appointments as a kid. He thinks of them like siblings, and they're all his favorites.
Despite this, Hiro does get nightmares.
Aoi didn't react to her brother dying until a week later when it hit her that all of her family was gone. She saw Komaru and Makoto talking together at his house and went into the guest room, curled up into the closet, and completely broke down. Byakuya found her and quietly sat with her until she was calm enough to talk it out. He of all people understands.
Makoto never went back to his childhood home. He was too afraid of what he'd find.
I hope you sobbed like I did, goodbye~

UTDP/Summer Camp: Hajime Hinata
in-game info from v3's UTDP Mode and Danganronpa S: Summer Camp AU, for fanart/fanfic inspiration etc. note that this is a "nice" universe where v3 goes to Hope's Peak and Junko never Junko'd.
this post details Hajime Hinata's scenes with others, as well as insights about him that these bits provide. there's a Lot, so jump on down under the cut.
(i hope to do all characters over time, so Hang Tight for your fave!)
> more UTDP/Summer Camp character databases <
CANON NOTE: Izuru Kamukura still exists. I will cover him in a separate post, as he's treated like a separate character. Strangely, though, from text alone, we can't confirm Hajime's relation to Izuru in the UTDP/Summer Camp AU. Considering Hajime and Izuru have similar scenes with different outcomes (much like Junko and Mukuro), it could be that they never exist at the same time (that is, we actually have two timelines going in this AU). It's up to your interpretation.
HAJIME INSIGHTS:
Hajime is still in the Reserve Course here (UTDP, w/ Aoi Asahina) + (UTDP, w/ Ryoma Hoshi) + (many others)
Was invited to the Summer Camp VR trip, though it's never explicitly stated why [just because of his "connections"] (Summer Camp, Prologue) + (Summer Camp, Taka's Campfire 3)
"I can't just stay a kid forever. Examining yourself and the reality you live in...That's how one moves ahead." (Summer Camp, Monokuma & Hajime)
"I'm cool with animals. A pet would be a bit too much for me, though." (Summer Camp, Ryoma & Hajime & Nagito)
Impressed by the Summer Camp VR world, and it piques his interest in things he never considered before (Summer Camp, Leon & Hajime & Chihiro)
"I'm just used to all the trash talk about being in the reserve course by now." (Summer Camp, Potential of Talent 3)
Makes balloon art for the Summer Festival, though with practice he can only make a dog and a flower (Summer Camp, Summer Festival events)
[Monomi:] "Hehehe...Hajime, you've become a full-fledged member of the class." (Summer Camp, With Swimsuits)
Reads a lot during the events of Summer Camp: "I feel a need to expand my horizons. I'm surrounded by specialists..." (Summer Camp, My Future)
HAJIME & OTHERS:
In this universe, Hajime still hangs out with class 77 a lot [notably Kazuichi, Gundham, and Chiaki] outside of school (UTDP, w/ Aoi Asahina)
Discusses talent with Ryoma, and Ryoma tells him: "You can choose any path you want, but be sure to think carefully about where it will lead." (UTDP, w/ Hajime Hinata)
In another discussion, Hajime tells Ryoma to treasure the days he has with his friends, even if he has to go back to prison after he graduates (UTDP, Ryoma's Winter 2)
Nagito finds Hajime mysterious, especially how he's drawn to main course students. Hajime doesn't understand him in return (UTDP, w/ Nagito Komaeda)
In fact, Nagito seems to hope Hajime will see his point of view about being a "stepping stone" for other students. Hajime does not (UTDP, Nagito's Sports Festival 3)
But Hajime does force Nagito to be his friend (UTDP, Nagito's Winter 1)
And to be a normal human being to the rest of his class (Summer Camp, Campfire 3)
Talks to the other male protagonists about giving [and receiving] presents (UTDP, w/ Makoto Naegi and Shuichi Saihara)
Feels that others rely on Chiaki because she's helpful. Chiaki feels the same right back to Hajime, noting he's helped many in 77 come out of their shell (UTDP, w/ Chiaki Nanami)
Often asked to join in on main course activities (UTDP, Sports Festival events)
Kazuichi considers Hajime a "soul friend" [though full disclosure, this may have been to convince Hajime to invite Sonia to his birthday party] (UTDP, Winter 2)
Asks Sayaka if she'd still be an idol regardless of Ultimate status, and her answer is yes (UTDP, Winter 3)
A little unimpressed with Keebo, but realizes that sometimes being an Ultimate is "who you are, not what you do" (UTDP, Keebo's School Festival 1)
Gets advice from Gonta about having fun in the future, rather than worrying about talent or even passion. Then they bond over bugs and it's cute (Summer Camp, Gonta & Hajime)
Monokuma tries to "bond" with Hajime over their "outsider" status. It does not work (Summer Camp, Monokuma & Hajime)
Monokuma also tries to make Hajime upset about being in the Reserve Course. It does not work (Summer Camp, Potential of Talent 3)
Hiyoko asks Hajime for help picking out souvenirs for her father. Hajime is not helpful (Summer Camp, Hajime & Hiyoko)
Doesn't know what Monokuma and the other Kumas are, but neither does anyone else, really (Summer Camp, Leon & Hajime & Chihiro)
Prevents Mahiru from accidentally getting an embarrassing shot of Mikan falling [probably coochie out] (Summer Camp, Hajime & Mahiru & Mikan)
Encourages Mondo in his endeavors to become a carpenter (Summer Camp, Potential of Talent 1)
Considers helping Taka reform Hope's Peak (Summer Camp, Taka's Potential of Talent 2)
BONUS ECHO FROM ANOTHER LIFE: (UTDP, Winter 1)

for the ask game--top ten danganronpa characters? from across all the games! :D
I feel like my answers might be a little bit basic bitch... But, if I like them, I like them, I guess.
1 - Hajime Hinata, ngl I adore all the protagonists but there's just something about Hajime that makes me so mentally ill. Like, if I think about his story for too long, I will cry. Just... I dunno the fact that his lack of self worth lead him to make a decision like that is heartbreaking. The older I get, the more I realise just how stupid and damaging the Hope's Peak system is.
2 - Shuichi Saihara, look... I love shy, quiet and reserved male characters, I love blue haired characters, I love detectives... The moment I saw Shuichi, I felt as if he had been made for me, and goddammit it worked because I love this boy. His development over the story is so good and I love how he bounces off all the other characters. I don't even know how to explain it, I just love him.
3 - Makoto Naegi, yes the three protag boys are my top three but that's probably because we get to hear their thoughts on everything throughout the game and that adds so much personality to everything. But Naegi's such a sweetheart and he's so cute. I feel like, even though he's basically the main protagonist of the whole series and he matures a lot in the DR3 anime... He's still everyone's baby boy. Also, his inner monologues when you investigate everything are just so funny.
4 - Kokichi Ouma, I fucking love this lil gremlin man. It makes me a little sad when people call him Komaeda 2.0 because I feel like the only thing they have in common is that they're antagonistic characters but other than that... Not really similar. But he is by far one of the most entertaining characters in the whole series, he steals the show in every scene he's in. And he, along with Kaito, perfectly embodies the themes of V3, with the whole truth vs lies and faith vs logic stuff going on and then Shuichi right in the middle, it makes for really interesting conflicts and character moments. Also, I wholeheartedly adore both the English and Japanese dubs for all of the games, but I just say that Derek Stephen Prince's performance as Kokichi is one of the best I've ever heard, he is clearly loving every single second of it and it makes Kokichi all the more entertaining.
5 - Chiaki Nanami, let's get the obvious part out of the way: she is adorable. I love her design, I love her personality, I love her voice, I love her little "hey hey" voiceline... She's just so cute, okay? But she's such a great character because she and Hajime seem to be able to bring everyone together but in very different ways and despite her more laid-back personality, she will immediately step in to calm things down - like when she smacked Akane when she attacked Nagito. Plus she's honestly so intelligent??? Like she is usually one of the first people to figure things out... But she's also the same girl that ate glue. And I love that duality. And while I have very mixed feelings on the DR3 anime, Chiaki was fantastic, seeing her continue to wait for Hajime after he had signed up for the Project broke my heart... But not as much as that one episode I just can't bring myself to ever rewatch.
6 - Nagito Komaeda, where do I even start with this fuckin guy??? He truly is one of the characters of all time. I feel kinda bad that he's ended up as such a meme because he is genuinely such a complicated character, but with some of the shit he does throughout the series, I am really not surprised he ended up like that. I do really want to explain why I love him so much but to do so would require an entire goddamn essay, so I won't. Also just... Megumi Ogata's voice. That's all. I love her performances.
7 - Kyoko Kirigiri, I said it before and I'll say it again: I love detectives. Honestly, I adore Kirigiri so much... Like I played the first game when I was thirteen and I had the biggest crush on Kyoko, I honestly don't understand how it took me an extra year to figure out I like women... But seriously, I love her design and colour scheme, her voice is gorgeous and I just love her relationship with Naegi so much.
8 - Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu, again the character development for this guy is just so good. I really didn't think anything of him at the beginning of the game but by the end of the game I adored him. I love his relationship with Hajime and how, by the final few chapters, him, Hajime and Kazuichi are like a lil trio who stick together. And again, Derek Stephen Prince... Goddamn, his performance in the Chapter 2 trial ripped my heart out.
9 - Kiibo, I just love this lil robot guy. I feel kinda bad for him for all the stuff he goes through during the story. Like he keeps getting really excited to show off his features but then everyone's just like "... Is that it?" And let's not forget how everyone used him to a battering ram to break open that water tank and just fucking threw him at it. The boy's been through a lot, most of it from Kokichi tbh. But he's such a cute character and his pride of being a robot and love for his creator is so sweet. Also, that little section in chapter 4 where Monotaro gets confused and acts like Kiibo is his dad is really cute, I remember a manga anthology did a chapter about that scenario and it was adorable.
10 - Nagisa Shingetsu, I really like not as many people pay attention to Another Episode and I get it, it's a spin-off with a completely different playstyle. Hell, I prefer the main games over this game too. But wow, the Warriors of Hope make me feel so bad whenever I play this game. Like, y'know when something is so upsetting, it causes a pit in your stomach? Yeah, that's these kids backstories... All of them make me feel awful but I got really attached to Nagisa because he's one of the ones that stuck around the longest and he had that moment of allowing Komaru to escape but then basically everyone around him manipulates him to make him do what they want and completely mess him up and it just hurts to watch. And it's just disgusting that his father refers to him as 'the subject' not 'Nagisa' not 'my son' just 'the subject'... I just wanna give him a hug... He deserves one after all the shit he's been put through.

I did actually have an idea for what could be a catalyst for Protag!Nagito changing his mind; Sakura. Just as her main self's determination managed to pretty much stop Class 78 actively participating in the Killing Game, what if some of Despair!Sakura's original self managed to pierce the brainwashing through sheer willpower? Not fully able to stop the compulsions Junko implanted into her, but she does become a kind of mole among the Remnants for the Class 77 survivors. Protag!Nagito realizing that if there old selves aren't completely gone, maybe the simulation idea that Gekkogahara proposed before getting shot down might not be a pipedream after all. Up until this point I picture him as being kind of a "Anti-Hero Replacement" for main Makoto. He does undergo some positive character growth and forge stronger bonds with his classmates in their Killing Game. And he does become a somewhat inspiring figure in a way the mastermind didn't intend. But it's more like the audience found his plucky determination and never-give-up attitude weirdly endearing than him being an "Ultimate Hope". And after they team up with the Future Foundation, he's a little too onboard with Munakata's brand of fighting despair. But rehabilitating the Remnants could well be the point where him and the Class 77 survivors actually do better than the Class 78 survivors in canon. Like for example, maybe Sonia decides on the location of the NWP being a secure remote area of Novoselic instead of Jabberwock Island (her homeland still being a holdout in this timeline). And insists that they fake the Remnants' death in some kind of bombing. All to ensure that the Foundation doesn't interfere with the program. And Protag!Nagito's more flawed characteristics compared to Makoto could actually become an advantage here. Like he might have an easier time relating to the Remnants post-deprogramming, with some of them feeling like they don't deserve a second chance. Plus I could actually see him clashing with Gekkogahara and insisting she come up with a method that doesn't involve amnesia. Because on top of it feeling kind of offensive after his experiences in their Killing Game and his struggles with dementia, he's just thinking "How do you think they're going to feel when they wake up from a comfy European holiday and find most of their family and friends are dead, the world is a mess, and they're the cause?!" Hell, if the Monokuma virus does happen in his timeline (not sure if Hajime/Izuru would be present or not), maybe he just drops all the bullshit. Leading the others to some hidden dev room with Usami and laying out where they really are and why they're here. Could well be one of the few Killing Games in the multiverse that ends with no murders. He let Makoto Naegi down, but goddammit him and the other survivors aren't gonna let the rest of their Kouhais down this time.
I like the idea of Nagito preferring to have them remember well—their sins basically—as a call back his own personal experience with dementia because yeah, that was always such a weird feature for the program to begin with. It’s remarkably harder to get closure from an experience you don’t even remember anymore but still visibly and emotionally have to deal with the effects of. How do you even begin to approach that? This doesn’t even touch upon the fact that you’ve basically been age regressed to a teenager again and suddenly find yourself in an adult body that’s been mutilated in so many ways. I’ve always wondered how exactly the SDR1 crew were going to approach class 77 in the event of an actual successful program—no virus detected. I also found it amusing that Makoto seemed the most skeptical of the survivors to use the program as is considering he was the one who implemented the failsafe in the event something went south (which it did of course). Makes me think that Makoto would have preferred the program worked differently and, if given the time, would have made it be a much more different experience for the remnants rather than the whole Hope Fragment school field trip concept. I’d like to see Makoto’s version of the Neo World Program now haha. Ah, the DR lore really is somethin’—oodles of fun to consider all the possible aus that could have happened with just one simple change.

Hey it the dragon anon can you make part 4 of warriors of hope with ultimate dragon reader where komaru and toko managed to take down y/n but the warriors of hope appear to protect y/n including monaca who start genuine caring for them with they robots fixed then the robots start to distract both the girls all run away back to the base but y/n is unconscious it gonna take some time for them to wake up and the five kids start to get super worried about they dragon parental figure headcanons
Hello, Dragon Anon, good to see you again! (I didn't include a greeting, how rude of me)
Platonic Warriors of Hope x Ultimate Dragon Reader Part Four
They shouldn't have come back.
It had been about a week since your encounter with the teenage demons. Ever since then, you kept a close eye from the skies, and whenever you saw them, you shot a blaze of fire at the ground as a warning.
Now, today, you were doing your patrol from the sky like usual. Then, suddenly, your entire leg went numb. Startled, you lost your concentration and dropped to the ground.
You hit the road hard, and you felt a lot of pain in your side. Then you looked up, and saw them.
Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa. The teenage demons you've been having problems with.
"Hey! What is the meaning of this?!" You demanded.
"I-Isn't it obvious? You're g-getting in our way!" Toko said, pointing a finger at you.
"Yeah! At this point, you're an even bigger threat than the Monokumas," Komaru added.
"I'm just trying to protect my children!" You shouted, sitting up in a kneeling position.
"W-We wouldn't be doing this if those p-precious angels of yours didn't attack us first!" Toko shouted, putting a hand in her pocket.
"Excuses, excuses..." You growled, getting on all fours. "It doesn't matter. If it's a fight you're asking for, it's a fight I'll deliver."
You changed into full dragon form and took flight once again, and rose up into the sky. You shot fireballs at them, but the two girls dodged all of them. Komaru shot all sorts of different bullets from her gun, but you dodged them all as well.
The fight was going nowhere, and the two girls were exhausted. You smirked to yourself and spun around in circles, flaunting your speed.
Unfortunately, this moment of arrogance turned out to be your undoing.
While you were showing off your speed, Toko grew angry and brought out her split personality, and she threw a pair of her scissors at you. The scissors sliced one of your wings, quickly pulling you back to reality.
You were so distracted that Komaru took the opportunity to hit you with a Break bullet, in the leg, successfully breaking all the bones in that leg. And then another one at your torso.
You let out a roar of pain, catching the attention of your adopted children. Genocide Jack threw more and more scissors at your wings, until eventually, the pain became unbearable, and you crashed to the ground, and you changed back to your normal form.
You were exhausted, and in so much pain. But you still tried to force yourself to stand. But the second you did, you were forced back down with a Paralyze bullet.
Genocide Jack approached you, with a wicked grin and a long tongue sticking out. She raised her arm holding the scissors, and prepared to plunge them into your torso.
But Komaru quickly gripped onto her arm, stopping her.
"Toko, stop! We didn't come here to kill them!"
"Then what the fuck else are we gonna do?!"
"Just teach them a lesson so they don't attack us anymore! Come on, cut it out!"
As they struggled, you felt dizzy, and felt yourself losing consciousness. And soon, you blacked out.
And finally, the kids intervened.
Masaru Daimon
"Hey! Get back, demons!"
He is absolutely pissed
He picks up a nearby rock and hurls it at them as hard as he can
He is absolutely fuming with anger, but Jataro and Nagisa hold him back from doing any more damage
Jataro Kemuri
"They're the only person who doesn't think I'm ugly. And I'm not letting you take them away from me."
He's not angry, just sad and worried about you
He doesn't wanna lose the only person to genuinely love and care about him
Kotoko Utsugi
"Hey! You demons are terrible! You need to fall down a hole and die!"
She acts angry, but she's just acting
She's trying not to show the true fear and worry she's feeling
Nagisa Shingetsu
"That is enough. You've gone too far."
He is also absolutely furious, but he's trying to hide his worry
He's thinking about how badly he wants to kill the demons, but he tries to ignore it
Killing demons won't help you, after all
Monaca Towa
"(N-Name)?"
She's too focused on you to even acknowledge the demons
What... is this feeling?
Sadness? Worry? Fear?
Three of the many components of despair, but she's... not enjoying the feeling
Like it's the bad kind of despair?
Is that even possible?
Maybe she truly cared for you after all
The kids were each holding their controllers, and they summoned their respective robots, rebuilt and remastered. The robots prepared to attack the teenagers at once. Toko and Komaru exchanged horrified glances and made a run for it.
"Never touch them, or us, ever again!" They yelled at the same time.
After the teen demons were nowhere to be seen, the kids turned and kneeled beside you. They felt tears in their eyes, and fall down from their eyes. Even Monaca, who once saw you as just a tool, was shedding tears.
A short moment later, the Servant stumbled in on this.
"Oh my, such despair! What's troubling you, little ones?"
Monaca stood up out of her wheelchair and ran to him. The kids snapped out of their sadness for a split second and became distracted.
"She can stand??"
Monaca ran up to the Servan and buried her face in his stomach, gripping his shirt in her hands.
"P-Please... Help them..."
He was caught off guard, and his body was stiff for a moment. But he quickly caught on and immediately moved to help.
He walked over to you and carefully lifted you in his arms. He headed back to the base with you in his arms.
Monaca's body trembled, and she fell to her knees and buried her face in her arms.
The other kids, despite being confused, walked up to her and enveloped her in a hug. And they let their own tears fall as well.
They stayed like that for several long moments, simply sharing the moment together. They were truly bonding, for the first time in a long while.

Yandere Reaction: Danganronpa v1 with a dying darling that has an incurable disease
Making them have only one day left.
Makoto Naegi:
It’s a lie! They can’t really be dying…. Right? They just can't be! He would be in disbelief at first but soon realized that they do have a limited time together makes the best of it.
Chihiro Fujisaki:
He would be devastated to learn that his darling doesn't have that much longer. He would spend the day doing anything and everything that they want.
Byakuya Togami:
He is determined to save them getting every doctor, test and anything else he can think of that could help.
Leon Kuwata:
He does try his best to keep them longer but with all the reports coming back the same he finally gets that he has to make the most of the day and he does.  He gets his darling whatever they want and does whatever they want to do for the whole day.
Hifumi Yamada:
He spoils his darling more than usual as best as he can before the days end. He has much more focus on them than ever before during this day.
Yasuhiro Hagakure:
He lets his emotions out before just spending the rest of the day with his darling as best as they both can. He hates the fact that they have a limited time but also knows that there really isn’t anything he can do about it.  There is a chance that he saw this coming but just didn’t want to believe it.
Mondo Owada:
He is just a whirlwind of intense emotions. He does try his best to make the day to remember but there are points where his emotions get too intense but he does somewhat keep them in check if only for his darling.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: He would absolutely be devastated to learn that he only has his darling for a day. They were meant to spend the rest of their lives together and now they only have a single day together? It will be a bittersweet day, very emotional but he tries his best to get through with his darling.
Toko Fukawa:
She is heartbroken at the fact that she won’t get to spend the rest of their lives together and as best as she tries it does kind of turn into a mess of a day with emotions running high. She loves her darling more than anything else and hates the fact that she won’t see them anymore after this day
Kyoko Kirigiri:
Although she tries not to let it show for her darling sake, she is a heartbroken mess on the inside. She does her best to make the day as comfortable and as peaceful as possible, trying to make it the best day that they will ever have.
Celestia Ludenberg:
Another one who is super pissed. About the situation but keeps her cool for the most part. She makes sure that for their last day they are living in luxury.
Aoi Asahina:
She is an absolute mess and tries to spend as much time with her darling as she can during the day not wanting to be separated from them for even a minute.
Sakura Ogami:
If only for her darling's sake she is cool and calm but has also shown to be deeply saddened about the fact that she is losing her darling so quickly. Like Asahina. She's going to make the day as stress-free as possible and hoping that by the day's end they will be at peace.
Sayaka Maizono:
She is so angry and sad that at first, she doesn’t know what to do. After she’s gotten a chance to calm down, she is determined to make the day the best day ever for her darling, spoiling them rotten and just spending time with them as much as she can.
Junko Enoshima:
She doesn’t act too differently, at least not enough for someone on the outside to notice but her darling can see that she does act differently even if Junko herself doesn’t realize it. During the day she just talks about how to despair and get us to lose the so-called love for life.
Mukuro Ikusaba: Similar to her sister it’s hard to see that she is slightly different from how she usually is from the outside. She is still super protective but she is a lot softer and more affectionate towards her darling during the day.

Thinking about how Fuyuhiko and Byakuya are kind of foils…..how both were raised in wealthy households by powerful fathers, and have some issues with arrogance/status, but the thing that differs is corruption. Byakuya’s Togami Corporation is probably used to keeping dealings on the down low, putting up a veneer of propriety. The Kuzuryu clan also deals in the shadow, but they’re obviously a Yakuza family.
From my understanding, the point of the yakuza being a group is that it’s a trusted network of people that have loyalty to each other. Everyone is expected to support the idea of the collective, the family, and everyone is paid in kind. In a business that’s reversed, you are expected to support the business, but with no guarantee of recompense.
While a crime syndicate sticks together no matter what, a business cuts its losses and does whatever it takes to survive. A syndicate circled the drain because it’s trying to hold onto everything, no matter if people want it or not. A business will suck you dry and has no such qualms about loyalty.
Fuyuhiko holds onto Peko, seeing her as a member of the family, while she cares for him but can’t be her own person because she’s programmed to support the family as a whole, not her own individual wants or interests. Even if she can’t be with Fuyuhiko, she can make sure he’s safe and that he’s near her.
Byakuya seeks others as means to an end. He scoffs at notions of friendship as childish, whereas in a yakuza family those are the most important thing. Byakuya doesn’t have a relationship with any of his siblings, save for Shinobu, and even that is a little unhealthy. When he asks Naegi to work for him, he says that it wouldn’t be a standard job, implying that he values Naegi’s abilities and the only way he can think to spend more time with this random person, this lottery-selected, baffling, ordinary person who has somehow intrigued him, it to try and fit him into what he knows—the system.
Fuyuhiko, after losing Peko in DR2 and suffering grievous bodily injuries, is forced to acknowledge people outside his circle, and becomes sincerely devoted to making things right with them, even going so far as to attempt another grievous injury to show his sincerity. I’d say he considers them part of his inner circle, and his arc is really powerful.
Byakuya’s development is much more subtle. While Fuyuhiko’ sis about trusting those that aren’t immediately in his circle, Byakuya’s is about not needing a circle to live. His corporation is gone, the whole world is gone, so he has to work with the people left — who aren’t really business-types. He goes to Towa City to save the beloved friends and family of his remaining and deceased classmates.
He might not know how to directly make people happy, so he might as well bring the people they love the most to do that for him. He’s figuring it out. Fuyuhiko is definitely the mom friend tho, he will make you LISTEN.

u for the ask game?
U - 5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms
Fighting my urge to list off obvious responses like the Fukawas/ Reigen/ Spamton etc because like, I post about them all the time; we all know Karl is obsessed with them!! Instead gonna dig my mind for guys I'm not often super vocal about.
Kenny (Telltale's The Walking Dead) - I am the world's biggest Kenny defender. Jane fans hate me. I need a T-shirt that says "Kenny (TWDG) didn't do anything wrong" or however the phrase goes. I am exaggerating for the bit here I do acknowledge his faults HOWEVER I love him in spite of said flaws. He's just a guy who cares deeply for those he considers family and even when it comes out in bad ways I just can't hate him for it. Very uncomfortable with how violent he's written to be in s2 but there's still the Kenny I know and love from s1 down in there so whatever.
Zack Addy (Bones) - He is everything to me I'm gonna be real. I cannot describe to you how much it hurt that he didn't really come back after the Gormogon arc aside from like, some brief appearances as well as his side-arc or whatever in s12. I think the rotating cast of interns after his departure was fun and I really liked some of the guys that showed up from that but if you gave me a button that made Zack stay as a main character for the whole series I'd press it so fucking fast.
Ekubo (Mob Psycho 100) - I FEEL LIKE THIS ONE IS ALMOST AN OBVIOUS CHOICE GIVEN [*gestures at my url] BUT. I don't really post about him solo all that often which is funny given I think a lot abt him outside of Ekurei posting. I care his character growth over the series so much and if I wasn't so Reigen-brained I'd probably be so fucking annoying about him specifically. Fortunately my brother picks up the slack on that front o7 to him but yeah, give it up to Ekubo who would have to be my overall 2nd fav from MP100.
Jack Baker (Resident Evil 7) - I don't have a big spiel for him like I do the others idk my brain just latched onto him one day and I haven't been able to shake it since. I'm too much of a pussy to get myself to play RE7 (despite now owning it lmfao) and yet it's a comfort game of mine. Wild. ANYWAYS JACK BAKER him as an enemy is super fucking cool and he scares the crap out of me BUT I also like his uninfected moments. He's such a sweet father and it makes the tragedy of what happened to his family even more worse. Guys who I wish were my father.
Aoi Asahina (Danganronpa) - AOI MY SWEETHEART!!!! I know I publicly rotate the Naegis or the Fukawas or Kazuichi or etc. a lot but I'm also a big Aoi fan. Her relationship with Sakura makes me ❤💔❤💔❤💔❤ and genuinely I remember feeling so happy that she ended up being one of the survivors from that game. I still have yet to get through the dr3 anime but seeing her in the future arc is always a treat I love getting to see her again. Like Jack I don't have the deepest words for her but she just makes me so happy also like a lot of Danganronpa characters I wish she came from a better source media.
FTR I could give you so many more favs ESPECIALLY from Bones where I love the majority of the cast. But I'm holding back on giving an honorable mentions list since it would kinda defeat the purpose of the prompt AHJSNJKKGDJNNGKJ. Feel free to ask me about my opinions on the Bones cast or like my other favs. But also the Bones cast I am holding my tongue so hard on them.
[Ask game can be found here.] Don't be afraid to send an ask in I love talking about this stuff!

The Last Straw
It was a simple day for the two lovers; Byakuya was at home doing typical business work and Kyoko was working on a case. Things didn’t appear to be any different today… after all, it’s been a whole year since they’ve started dating and gathered this routine.
But that was exactly the problem.
Things weren’t different today.
It was their one year anniversary from when Byakuya finally got the nerve to ask Kyoko out. Kyoko was tired and expected a surprise from her boyfriend when she got home, yet the only thing she found was him working away with a furrowed brow across his face. He must’ve been too invested in his work to notice her…
“Hello, love…”
“Oh. Hello, darling.”
Byakuya looked up for only a split second before going back to working… poor Kyoko was standing in front of his desk trying not to slam her fists down. She knew he was apathetic, but seriously?! He couldn’t even try to be happy to see her?!
“Do you know what today is…?”
“September 11th.”
“Right… and do you know what happened on September 11th last year?”
“Of course I do. You became my girlfriend.”
“Then why… why didn’t you do anything?”
“I’ve been busy.”
“You’re always busy. Can you at least pretend to love me? Just for today?”
“Pretend? Do you truly think I have to fake it?”
“Sometimes I do. You didn’t give me the time of day for my birthday. Or Christmas. Or Valentine’s Day.”
“You know I don’t celebrate holidays. Is that so bad?”
Togami’s tone and inability to look at her rightfully angered the usually calm detective, so she slapped her hands flat on his desk as tears angrily pricked the corners of her eyes.
“Kyoko..?”
“I… don’t know why I fell for you.”
“I beg your pardon?”
Byakuya’s voice broke with his statement. Fortunately for Kyoko, it got his attention as he slammed his laptop shut.
“This entire time… you’ve claimed you’ve loved me, but I was just a trophy for you to flex on Makoto, wasn’t I?”
“How dare you think that?! Do you truly think you’re only worthy of being a trophy? If I wanted to show something off to Naegi, it wouldn’t be my girlfriend!”
“Then why do you only act caring when he’s around?”
“…because he-”
“You hesitated… Byakuya, I think we should break up.”
“Do you truly want that?”
“No… what I want is someone who genuinely cares for me and not about showing me off to my ex. Goodbye, Togami.”
“Tch. Whatever. Take all of your worthless items with you.”
Kyoko wiped away her tears and picked up her bag, slamming the door on her way out. Once the coast was clear, Byakuya immediately started bawling as he held a rather expensive locket that contained a picture of the two…

NIGHTTIME ROUTIN!!!!!!
This is a very lose interpretation but I would love love to hear your thoughs
So I think bed time routine starts at around 8:00
They eat at maybe 7:30 so that kyoko and byakuya have enough time to get home and shuichi Star dinner before they do so they eat right when they get home
After dinner I think that two parents go off to like shower and change into sleeping clothes and basicly do the big part of there routine while the other parent stays behind to help shuichi
They when shuichi only have like teeth brushing hair brushing and like washing his face the parent that was helping him goes to do bulk of their routine and once that parents done they come back to the room to all tuck in shuichi and read him a story of his choosing and he is like in bed and asleep by 9:00
Then I think they go back to their room and do whatever they didn’t do, watch tv, read, or just talk about their days
ok first off this got me thinking "Ok Kirigiri and Togami probably ride to and from work together to save gas n stuff especially since they both work in the city" and now I'm at "Wait does Togami even have his license DOES HE EVEN KNOW HOW TO DRIVE" cause like he's probably always had a chauffeur n stuff and yeah it's something I can see him wanting but before and after the heir ceremony I can see it as something his dad would see as more of a waste of his time and not allow? so that's some food for thought. Also I could see Naegi usually being the one to get Shuichi ready for bed but it's also a job that Kirigiri or Togami will tag in for depending on the day. Also a rotation on who's actually reading to him and they read different books each time. so like, Naegi reads some classic kids book, kirigiri works through a mystery novel (think like Nancy drew, Geronimo stilton that type beat, in the morning they talk about how they think it'll end over breakfast) and with Togami they work through a pretty long book like think The Hobbit (Kirigiri and Naegi are also passed out once he's done lmao) Once he's eepin sleepin I could see them also using that time to make sure they've got everything ready for the week and like if Naegi has a work trip coming up this is the time he uses to pack for it all last minute yknow. If they have nothin going on then they talk about their days n life n Shuichi n connect yknow? I could see them watching scary movies n bad romcoms too lol ALSO! Altered schedule for when Naegi is on work trips since he picks up Shuichi from school n stuff (Since Shuichi gets out of school before the other two parents get back from work) Points at Shuichi ASC KID when he was tiny it was After School Care but when he's older he'll get picked up at a friend's house (Like Kaito or smth not all the way back at Jabberwock lmao dw) and from there they get dinner on the way back (Ramen or smth) if they arent feeling that Naegi might make some Tupperwares of food before hand that they can just microwave ("You guys can use a microwave right?" "Yeah totally we got this" Kirigiri said, reheating her bowl of mac and cheese with the metal spoon still in the bowl) Same song and dance but with them FaceTiming Naegi at eepy sleepy time, they still relax after he's down and I could see them playing Clue or smth I unno I think they'd enjoy that lmao

+ Sunny, Basil, Aubrey, and Kel with a darling who is from a wealthy family ,, ( Non-yandere | Platonic or romantic. Whatever you want. )

+ ;; Sunny ;
• He doesn’t think about it a lot. But sometimes he gets reminded of your status and it bugs him quite a bit. Knowing that you’re a rich kid around normal people, you could basically do anything you want since you have all the power to. Kinda scared of you but feels safe knowing that you’re one of his “ friends “ and such. Your parents weren’t any different from you. They still looked as fresh as ever. Like freshly out of college. They still had that teenage energy. Hell, they were both even so understanding! He’s kinda jealous. And wow, you’re even a famous TikToker? Just how lucky are you? While your fans are busy fanning over you, you’re here spoiling him and the others with all of that money… he kind of wonders why you moved here in the first place. And you’d always reply with ; “ Cuz life’s just so boring I’d keep on moving place to place to find something to entertain me even for a few seconds. But now I’m thinking of staying here because of you guys. You all make me complete. “
Tumblr media
+ Basil ,, ;
• He’s trying to mentally calm down… hell, your fans are even questioning whether you’re in a relationship with him or not. You’re just too good for him… he’s jealous of you having the most understanding parents ever!! You’re quite lucky, aren’t you, Naegi? He’s overwhelmed about this whole ordeal! Poor boy needs a break. Perhaps you both can hang out in a really expensive place and go on a ‘ little ‘ trip to Paris? And you’re paying! - wait, you always are… he sometimes also tries to convince you to let him pay. But you just laugh it off and shove one of your credit cards in his face. While silently holding his hand, walking to who-knows-where.
Tumblr media
+ Aubrey ! ,, ;
• I don’t actually know what she’d think or do in this situation… she’d probably just scoff at you and let you do your thing. Sometimes she feels guilty for having you to pay for her things. Yeah.. but you were telling her that it was alright and that you’d pay everything for her! So it was partly your fault, miss gworl 🤭. She doesn’t like it when you spoil her and the rest of the gang, they have their own money… and don’t even get me started on TikTok. I’d think she’d probably see TikTok as shit but well… not that much anymore due to you being a famous TikTok star. Whenever you want her to join in one of your TikToks, she’d mentally scream deep down in the inside. “ ( Name ) - u-uh… I don’t think I wanna join you in your little TikTok, sorry. “ she’d always say, trying to awkwardly not get involved in the situation whereas your fans would start speculating she’s your partner or secretly your sister.
Tumblr media
+ Kel -,, ;
• Kinda gets uncomfortable, but doesn’t mind it much. Since he doesn’t want despair and all that. But he likes it when he joins in one of your videos and sometimes enjoys it when you spoil him. It slowly becomes too much to the point where he’d sit down and think about his life. Yeah he likes you parents, you, everything about you. But he doesn’t like it when your fans go ; “ Oemji!! Is that your boyfriend / partner?????? “ it’s just uncomfortable for him. But he slowly gets used to it. Hell, he’s even starting to joke about it and you’d both laugh it off.
Tumblr media
- - - Sorry if some of these are OOC, I’m quite new to OMORI if you can’t tell. I’ll try to improve tho! And no, I’m not trying to stereotype famous TikTokers. This is just the reader being a whole Junko kinnie, and a bit of a crack post? I dunno. But besides all of that- thanks for reading!!
