Ok...is it just me? I just went to the poetry tag so I can find some new poets to reblog and get them some exposure. I'd say about 50% of the posts are just garbled nonsense posts that are meant to look like poetry...they just make no sense. Like..."the warm standard of a bitten cardinal can't run to the piggly wiggly in underwear" sort of crazy??? Is this a new trend in poetry that I have just missed??? Because if so....I've got a shit ton of new material I'll be posting, so stand by!!!!! Seriously though...WTH????

DJ Octavio ramblings/analysis/theory???

I'm still mad that DJ Octavio was never given credit for composing and performing the absolute banger of a song that is Calamari Inkantation 3mix all while piloting the ship against Mr. Grizz in the middle of a world-ending event.

Like I get it. He's not an idol. He's not like, super popular among the fanbase, despite having his own rabid fans (I'm one of them).

But it just feels so wrong, knowing that the collective experiences he's shared with the Squidbeak Splatoon finally had him join forces with them, only to be left out of the song HE made???

I know the album has little octopuses all over it to signify his involvement, but I wish we had a proper explanation for why he hasn't been credited signature-wise or verbally.

Best case scenario (for me, because it gives him cool characterization) is that it ties into the idea of him not being as confident anymore. He's failed a lot over the years, lost a lot of his people, and the only recent win was when he actually worked together with the Squidbeak Splatoon that he's been fighting for a majority of his life.

If this is how he actually feels, then the recent DLC, Side Order, could hint at this as well, and portray how he seems from an outside perspective.

When reading the entry for Octavio's Splatling palette, Smollusk basically says that he needs to get his shit together because he's supposed to be a "big shot" Octarian in charge of leading his people, but that implies that he really hasn't tried since the ending of Splatoon 3.

Smollusk doesn't have the greatest understanding of the characters' motives, I'll give it that, but I honestly wouldn't say that it's too far off the mark here. It more or less accurately portrays everyone else, but just doesn't approve of their beliefs or methods.

Using this information, I think saying that DJ Octavio might be struggling to find a purpose could very well be the truth. So, maybe he's not credited because he didn't want to be? Maybe he felt he didn't deserve it? Or perhaps just didn't want to be in the publics' eye before he chose a path to follow? (He has been hiding for a while).

I don't really know, but I hope he's given the spotlight soon!

I honestly think at this point he deserves his own concert...it's not like they have to keep the other characters out either. Have him hijack the show, or do collabs with everyone. Bomb Rush Blush, Tidal Rush, and 3mix are all collabs. Plus, there's the Inkopolis Memorial Mixtape he made, which was basically a love-letter to the entirety of Splatoon 2.

And, out of everyone, Octavio is the most likely to know of every band in Splatoon, besides Dedf1sh, who is now conveniently back among public perception. He listens to literally anything he can get his tentacles on, and it's a real shame we haven't gotten more music from him.

One last thing. This relates to the DJ Octavio concert thing but...

I honestly think it would be really cool if Octavio and Cuttlefish made a song together at some point.

Octavio could do the instrumental, add some cool sound effects, and Cuttlefish could put those rapping skills to good use. Double points if they cover Calamari Inkantation together.

Alright, I think that's it for now. Feel free to cry about Octavio getting snubbed for the 1 billionth time to me.

You can't reason with insane people. Esp those who refuse reality and will take anything and fit it to their needs. Take IU for example. Her song. Her music. Her lyrics. Her movie video. Her concept. Tae is just an actor and they have already started threads saying its a follow up to 7, cause they are sitting at a table and IU has a lip ring. Hijacked this woman's entire video from her to make it about Taekook. Like IU decided to make a song for TK and cosplay as JK and hire Tae to tell their love story. Where was JK's permission in all this planning, using his likeness and cosplaying as him to send a queer message about their relationship? This is what I want to know. Did JK give his approval or did IU and Tae conjure this up on their own without his consent, I mean we do know Tae does impromptu things without permission like starting up lives in people's homes, so did he along with IU do this, since this is what Taekookers are running with and truly believe. Oh let me guess, JK was hiding on set in the shadows and directing them. Also are we surprised when Umi said she wrote that song for her grandma about facetiming and suddenly it became about Taekook facetiming and Tae posting that Facetime screenshot to show everyone the music was written for JK. Just like they claim Harry Styles wore Purple and Green at the Seoul Concert to represent Taekook cause he knows about them. To them every collab TK works with knows about them and the songs are for TK, even if its the artists song and they are only a feature. LMAO

I hope the entire video top to bottom is a total recreation of 7, this way when tkk start trending and taking over IU's work and making it all about TK like they are already starting, then her fans are gonna come for them and then congrats, she won't wanna work with your fav again since its too much drama and Tae will blame you entirely for your insanity. You've all lost your brains, but finding out Tae was in a straight relationship and hard core fucking jennie in every hole for 2 years and not your fav, will do that to a person.

someone on Remnant altered or made the simulation that RWBYJNR and the JL were caught in (and hijacked a training simulator for RWBYJNR) - Kilg%re rants about it, claiming it was his idea to use Dust to power it, and that he gave whoever the Remnant contact was the idea. and it’s noted as weird that the lab in Schnee manor was set up like a command center (and i’ve a feeling, because we didn’t see Bruce or Jessica leave, that they’re still gonna be in the simulation at the start of the next movie)

gonna stick this under a read more, got kinda long

... did Watts somehow make contact with Earth?

either him or Merlot, i guess, might be Merlot

it’s either one of them or Thornmane and this should be post-Arrowfell so he should be in jail and he’s... not exactly got the strongest personality for this kinda thing

but whoever it is has personal reasons to want RWBYJNR trapped and as Kilg%re specifically says 'he' and the fact that whoever did this has the power and resources to create a whole simulated world to trap two sets of heroes in, that dramatically narrows the field of possible Remnant villains

and honestly, now thinking about it I'm leaning on Merlot - the proviso that the simulated world be used to trap RWBYJNR as well as the Justice League implies personal beef, which Merlot would have, given how his mutant Grimm plans were derailed, whereas Watts has never been terribly interested in them (not to mention it runs counter to Salem wanting Ruby alive) and Kilg%re is even more of an egomaniac than Cinder is, I don't think Watts would've tolerated working with him long enough to get to this point

so yeah that does kinda leave Merlot as prime suspect - which makes sense as he's a lot more... dramatic? wacky? villain monologue-y? than Watts, because he was a Beacon era villain, so he would work as a decent enough counterpart to Kilg%re

plus Watts was laying low at this point, so it might not make sense to use him because yeah okay this is a silly non-canon collab movie but they probably would still avoid derailing the canon storyline by putting him in RWBYJNR's sights too early (as they don’t even know he exists until Jacques’ party) - plus as fun as he is, in a flat out fight he’s gonna lose and i don’t know if he’d work as a full-on movie villain. whereas we don’t really know much about Merlot’s history because we were never in the same room as him, so they’ve got room to play there in what he could be capable of, and if they do bring back the Mutant Grimm, his mysterious control of them would serve to keep him as a credible threat for the next part of the story

and yeah, there’s the argument against Merlot because he’s an obscure villain who appeared in one game like 7 years ago, and that’s fair, but counter to that: how many of you had even heard of Kilg%re before this movie?
