Not enjoying one-night-stands is VERY very very very very normal. It doesnt mean you have a distinct sexuality. Humans very often form emotional bonds/intimacy/closeness before they feel any desire to form physical bonds/intimacy/closeness. One-night-stands are not the norm. Hookup culture is straightup traumatic for many people even if its not immediately apparent. Its not a sexuality, bc whether you are opposite and/or same-sex attracted, its just being a human.

I get that and even agree with your initial statement. However, as I dove into demisexuality and explored the asexuality spectrum, I found that my attraction/sexual preferences aligned with those considered ace spec, sometimes more demi and sometimes gray. Other times, a lot of the time, I feel entirely asexual. When I am interested in someone even just a little, I require an intense connection, kismet, serendipitous, twin-flame, whatever, for me to be interested in exploring physicality with them. I am not entirely sure if you are diminishing the existence of demisexuality as a valid identity or if you are discouraging my discovery through traumatic sexual experiences with men who made me feel violated and sick. I am all for hook-up culture. It is just not my thing.
