Bruh. As much as we talk about how funny and wacko the early era of tumblr was with its mishapocalypses and so on and so forth, I like tumblr a LOT more now. Like, if you were ace, you did NOT wanna look in the asexuality tag back then like holy fuck. It was a hostile battleground in there every day. The idea of being "aphobic" was in and of itself a joke. It was a perfectly valid stance on here. People would straight up make fake ace blogs just to say super cringy shit so ppl could screenshot and use it for an example of our attitudes and behavior. It was so fucking exhausting to be on here sometimes. Every day I had to block blogs I had followed for ages and legitimately liked and I remember being so upset All The Time like bitch I'm just existing here what the fuck man. Eventually I just kinda backed my ass right back into the closet and blacklisted any and all ace content. Just said fuck it I can't look at this shit anymore I'm done i dont even care what I am.
I glanced in the ace tag today bc it's ace day and was so relieved. Like I know it probably hasn't been bad like it was for awhile now but I'm still just like always expecting the worst from the internet. I still subconsciously stay removed from my own identity most of the time and take pains not to bring it up unless I'm with my close friends, and even then not very often. I still cautiously hesitate to say I'm part of the queer community even tho most people it seems are on board with the A in LGBTQIA being for Aspec. It could just be that with the tiddy ban most of the remaining perpetrators left or something but either way I'm really glad this place has become legitimately ace-positive. I wouldn't have believed it possible back then there was SO much vitriol aimed at us. Even if this site is actually just an echo chamber of aces shouting positivity at each other today, I'll still enjoy it. They didn't really let us do that back then. They invaded every tag we tried to make for ourselves. So happy Ace Day. Don't forget to appreciate every positive post that shows up on your dash.

Ok. Starting up with you, @luckynumber4, definetely dark or navy blue. I think it's because of your blog aesthetic but really, the url also fits and I love it.
@next-autopsy is emerald green. It's the color she uses on her fic and I cannot see Nex without thinking of that color anymore.
@xxluckystrike i think you remind me of gold. Like, golden flower fields; your personality definetely makes me think of that.
@malarkgirlypop is seafoam OR pink (that really strong one almost radioactive.) The seafom is because it simply fits her so fucking well??? Goes amazingly with her hair too. And the pink is because of her personality. She's just so radiant and catches your attentionwithouteven trying. Love it.

1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?
Hmmmm. I wasn’t the biggest shipper as a teenager and all the ships I did obsess over still own my fucking soul. I ship for life.
2. Which ship would you consider your first one?
That’s a toss up between Monica x Chandler (Friends), Mulder x Scully (The X Files), Cory x Topanga (Boy Meets World), and Rick x Evie (The Mummy) I can’t remember which came first because they all were pretty simultaneous.
3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?
Romione. Although I remember dabbling in writing fan fiction in a spiral bound notebook at the age of 14, it was always sort of self-insert non-romantic LOTR character building. My first actual fanfiction (reading and/or writing) was Ron x Hermione when I was 19.
4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?
100% LOTR… but I don’t remember which pairing. Probably like Frodo x Sam or Legolas x Gimli, but I didn’t get into MM shipping until I was a full blown adult about to finish college.
5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?
Somewhat when I was in the Glee fandom but that fandom was a clusterfuck of ship discourse. I pretty much lived on the corner of fuck off and leave me alone.
6. Did you used to have any no-otp or have it currently?
Maybe? But I didn’t really care too much about looking at anything outside my own ship OR I was a multi-shipper. So I don’t really remember a specific notp. I’m sure there were some though. There was so much trash in the glee fandom, I’m sure I hated something.
7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?
I haven’t touched a fan fic in over 10 years so (I should get a chip!) the last one I read was likely Klaine. Holy shit wtf time has flown.
8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?
Approximately 1.9 billion. Oh you want names? Well Hualian (TGCF), Wangxian (MDZS) and most recently Ranning (2ha) are the top three out of the 1.9 billion. Remember, I collect ships and keep them in my heart for all eternity.
9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?
Sam x Jack (Stargate SG1). It’s somewhat implied but my god I still yearn.
10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?
I didn’t dislike Cory x Shawn but I didn’t really get it back in the Girl Meets World hay day and it wasn’t even on my radar at all during Boy Meets World. (Remember, I’m old and the internet was not what it is now during my youth so I didn’t even know about the Cory x Shawn ship for literally decades). Sometime after GMW ended and tiktok became popular there was a resurgence of BMW popularity and a lot of CxS analysis that opened my eyes. I enjoy the ship now but I’m still Cory x Topanga 4eva.

Tbh not really. I used to be pretty boring. I definitely have some in the present that would though. 🤐

that's an easy one! my dimension 20: mentopolis fic (whale fall) was written before the finale and was my guess as to what would happen w one of the pairs of characters, and its very sweet and wholesome i think :3

here's a negative-leaning rant about saiouma, or more about the amount of content about it. read if you really want to (read more included, because i know it would be a pain in the ass to try to scroll and ignore a post like this)
(also tl;dr at the end... i should've pasted it here but uh-)

i ship saiouma… sometimes. i used to love this pairing a lot, and it's what prompted me to love ouma more and more. but because of ouma being my favorite character, i decided to check out other pairings; from oumota, kiibouma, and oumeno, to irouma, oumami, and ougoku (side note: i can't really blame people for seeing this as problematic, but i truly don't believe it to be "toxic" or "abusive"). they're all really good ships which have my whole heart, so i focused on them more frequently, and took a break from saiouma. i even gave ouharu a shot, and yes, there's a lot of hate there, and i do prefer them to at least have a begrudging friendship, but like. it's interesting okay
of course, saiouma is the most popular ouma ship there is. seriously, it has around 4000 more works on ao3 than oumota, the second most popular. this is because it's the protag x antag ship, like komahina (which, holy shit, it has 5846 works on the sdr2 tag, while kuzupeko, the second most popular, has 987). so, being an ouma multi-shipper, who thinks saiouma is a decent ship but isn't that fixated about it anymore, seeing said ship pretty much everywhere? yeah, i was bound to get sick of it. well, not the pairing itself, mind you, but rather how oversaturated it was in my eyes.
it got to the point where, if i saw saiouma tagged in a fic, no matter how promising i thought the summary was, i would groan and try to motivate myself into reading it. like, if it had the same premise, but had a different ship/no ship at all, i would read it in a heartbeat. even if ouma was shipped with a character i had zero care about, then sure, i don't mind. (well, there certainly are exceptions, i have to admit)
yeah, that might sound a bit immature, but it's not like i won't read saiouma fics no matter what. it's just that oftentimes i simply can't gather the motivation to indulge in the pairing, if that makes sense. so it's a bit tiring when i keep seeing it when i really don't feel like it.

there's also the thing with their dynamic. they're foils for truth and lies, yes, i can't deny that. but i feel like the main appeal of the ship is the fact that "saihara is a detective, and ouma is the personification of a mystery!"
…except, saihara kinda sucks at figuring ouma out? yeah, he can catch on to ouma's lies better than others, but if i remember correctly, that's only in the ftes/bonus modes. in the canon storyline, he couldn't realize that, hey, ouma is a liar, and his lying patterns tend to be quite complicated! that means he can lie about whether or not he's lying! but nope, let's just believe his claims to be the mastermind, because he's the only one cruel enough to manipulate a murder into happening without remorse, so there's no need to consider any other possibility besides the one he conveniently laid out for them. oh, not to mention the points that he makes occasionally, but they come from ouma, so there's no use to thinking about the validity of such statements.
saihara, you are an incredible detective, and you are the furthest thing to undeserving of your ultimate, but i don't think behavioral patterns are up your alley. i don't think saihara hates him, as he's more capable of tolerating him than most, but sometimes it's like he gets dumbed down for the sake of making ouma the antagonist.
(the saiouma fics i used to read had saihara getting flustered as a result of ouma's advances and "flirting," but in canon, he doesn't have much of a reaction to ouma's "my beloved" comments about him, at least, that's what i remember. i don't think "but the canon!" is a good reason for not shipping something, so this part is pretty minor, but i just had to point it out.)

as i'm writing this, i realized: holy shit, when i first started to like ouma, i only got into saiouma because it was the most popular ouma ship. the only unique traits that charmed me about the pairing was saihara's ability to see through ouma's lies, and the sudden boldness he'd exhibit, but aside from that? i essentially treated the former as a blank canvas (sorry, saihara), only wanting some shippy ouma content. but after going through other pairings, those "unique" traits weren't so unique after all (a very good example is oumota. while yes, he trusts the notion he has of ouma, telling him he's a bad, untrustworthy person, he's still perceptive. this is shown by the way he's the only one who acknowledges the change in ouma's behavior in chapter 4. his boldness is also more prominent than saihara's, as well). how ironic that i'm starting to have a problem related with the ship because of the same thing that got me invested in the first place.
oh, but it's not like the aforementioned "detective and enigma" dynamic can't happen. we can be canon defiant and improve saihara's ability to understand and unravel ouma for the sake of bettering the ship. (ooh, and the methods of how he'll do so… fluctuating between analysis for ouma's lies and just spending time with him so that he'll open up at his own pace…)
so, it's not exactly a bland ship, but there are others that are more interesting to me, and deserve to have just as much popularity as saiouma does, in my opinion.

tl;dr: in my opinion, saiouma's a decent ship, however, it's popularity is a bit undeserved when you take other pairings into account. i don't dislike it, but as someone who isn't that passionate about it, it annoys me how much content there is, while ships that i felt had equal amount of, if not more captivating dynamics weren't as popular due to the fact that saiouma was the protag x antag pairing.

Time and My Wife
I'm not the oldest or the youngest anymore. I'm approximately halfway through the average human's lifespan, give or take some bad math.
What I am, however, is surprisingly scared of time passing forward. Passing me by, it feels like. Cherry, my wife, my best friend, my darling love, is in film school and is a staff favorite. She's smart, she's funny, she's quick-witted and well spoken, she's really the best person.
We met when we were 19. I was failing college because I was spending all my time gaming or flirting with anyone that looked at me. School just didn't feel important, and I didn't know what I wanted to do anyway, so why waste the time?
I wish I knew then what I did now, that I'd wasted a huge opportunity.
When we met, Cherry was best friends with another girl I was dating at the time, Allie. We didn't work out, obviously, and we ended up splitting for a variety of reasons. The primary one was that she was trying to get over her ex, and honestly I just wanted to be loved.
I still remember the first time I locked eyes with Cherry. I knew that she was going to be everything to me right away. She was everything I wanted to be. Alt, creative, funny, everything I said above. She's always been this amazing person. We exchanged Facebooks and I did what any classless loser does after getting broken up with by a girl.
I hit her friend up and asked if she wanted to hook up. I didn't want something serious, not really. But she seemed fun, and I knew that we'd at least have a good time together.
Cherry and I met, and we laid in the back of her Jimmy for hours, just talking and kissing. We never ended up having sex, because why would we? I could have kept laying there forever. But eventually it grew late, and dinner needed to be had. Fortunately, her friends were making dinner and she'd offered for me to tag along.
This was when I met two other important people in my life, Sun and Sky. Sky and I didn't get along at first. Hell, it took us ten years to figure out how to talk to each other, but we eventually got it figured out and we're tight these days. Now we shoot the shit about JRPGs whenever we've got the spare time, and I'm trying to get him playing FF14 with me.
Sun's always been a nice person. Truly just the kindest soul, unfortunately to her own detriment a lot of the time. We love Sun very deeply, and she's one of Cherry's best friends. When Cherry'd been tossed out by whatever parent had decided they didn't want to be responsible anymore, Sun, Allie, Sky, and a bunch of assholes I won't give fake names to banded together to help keep her safe.
Anyway, dinner. I don't remember what we ate, but I do recall corn. And feeling welcome. Genuinely, warmly welcomed. I was raised by WASPS (my dad is the disinherited heir of US royalty, no I won't say who), so warmth was something I had to grow accustomed to, and holy shit, that first time was something.
That first day together really solidified who I wanted to become.
It just took me a long time to get here.
Now we're at a halfway point, statistically speaking, and she's in school. I'm here, at the apartment, doing everything in my power to make sure her only job is to go to school. I clean, I cook, I work, I pack her lunches and make sure her bag's got everything she needs for the day. I love doing this for her, because I want her to know every fucking day just how much I love her.
But then she leaves for the day, and so does my roommate, and suddenly I'm here alone. Working, learning programming languages that barely click to me, designing web pages and doing sales calls. It's a big job I do. But I do it alone.
And that leaves me with a lot of Time.
Time and I used to be enemies. When I had Time, I'd fill it with dumb choices and life-altering mistakes. Nowadays we're still not friends, but we're not at each other's throats so much. I have to confess though, that I'm becoming scared of it as I'm getting older.
Isn't that a funny word, older? It's really just a mark of the passage of time. We wrinkle, we creak, we have to piss more often, things stop working quite as well as they used to.
But what do I have to show for it? My marriage, which is literally the best part of my life, no bones about it. My job, which is the result of nepotism. My car, which my dad got me.
What have I done with my time on this earth?
And the actual answer is grow. With the time I've spent here, I've answered for the sins of my Father, committed a few sins of my own and answered for those, moved forward in my life, and become a better person than I've ever been.
Now though, I'm grown. I'm ready to step outside the plant pot, you know? See what the world is really like. And as I watch my wife go through her education, I feel a little jealous. I'd pissed mine away at 19, and my folks told me that was that, if I wanted to go back to school I'd have to pay for it myself.
It feels like I'm watching time pass me by as the people around me grow too. I take care of them as they do what they need to in order to become who they want to be.
And now that I think on that, isn't that such an important fucking job? Isn't it kind of incredible that I'm comfortable enough in my skin to be able to get in the dirt and remove the weeds so that she can grow?
I guess, now that I'm thinking about it, that was always my thing. I've always loved taking care of and helping others. I think, now that I'm really considering it, I could be happy doing this for a very long time. School won't take forever, and eventually she won't need me to do this for her, but I think for now, I can just take joy in watching her find her confidence again.

Oc x Canon is so weird to me. On one hand, I am supportive of my mutuals and their content and love their creations. On the other hand, my brain can't seem to register it as something people do.
People describe how they made self-inserts/ocs so they could romance the entire cast as children. Honestly, for the longest time I thought they were joking because every time I made a self-insert/oc they took over the villain organization because I thought said villain organization was pathetic and I could turn them into real threats.
To be fair, I feel like this is a long-winded way of saying the (demi)aroace was oozing out of my pores but I was a everyone else is the weird one baby aroace and not a something is wrong with me baby aroace so any self-reflection was lost on me.
Though it says something that the few times I did create an oc x canon ship as a child, the oc was paired with an obscure character who only showed up for three episodes, and the third episode they were arrested/killed.
I distinctly remember getting my friend into the 2000s animated Teen Titans so she started shipping herself with Beast Boy, and deadass my reaction was 'Why? Billy Numerous is far funnier.' I could not register she might like Beast Boy beyond his humor. Now that I type this out, I think humor was my only bar...
Holy shit, it really is my (demi)aroace ass.

my thoughts on pumped up kicks being linked to the columbine high school shooting, and tcc.
so, earlier today i was scrolling through the "pumped up kicks" tag on tumblr. and i saw a lot of memes, i was laughing at them. until, i started seeing columbine. like, columbine edits and pictures of the two gunmen. i was disgusted, i didn't know that this song that was my childhood could be linked to something so terrible. i obviously saw the "true crime community" tag as well. i don't know what to think, all i'm gonna say is that this sort of stuff is the reason why chain reactions within the internet start.
another thing i would like to discuss here is where the fuck are these kids parents? they're obviously unaware of their child doing these things. even if they knew, then i don't know how the hell that doesn't spark up some concern. they have dylan as their pfp and that's not a fucking sign to think "holy shit, maybe my kid is messed up." like what are you doing? where's your damn brain for crying out loud? and a lot of them say they relate to pumped up kicks as well. is that not a clear enough fucking sign.
now, i do not blame the tcc for being in this community in the first place. i was at this stage of life as well, i understand the mentality. the stress and how much you relate to eric harris and dylan klebold. i used to as well, and you're not alone. this community has been standing since 2014-2017. obviously they're not going away anytime soon. we can report them, and see their accounts get deleted all we like. but, let's be real. they are fucking staying for as long as we're on the internet. hell, it could be 2027 and they would still be there. just search up #tcctwt on twitter and you would see so much of them. even the #true crime community tag is still fairly popular on tumblr. sure, their accounts were deleted by tumblr. but then again, they aren't leaving.
i am so glad i left tcc though, my mental health was just a wreck. i am now an ftp fan (i went back to being an ftp fan, of course.) so things should get better soon. but, the memories are still drilled into my brain. i still remember each and every single account who, these people, were nothing but kind to me. that's what made me stay. and then i slowly started to realize how toxic it can be. how much it can affect your brain, it's kind of like amino. we can take that for example, it's just sort of like a drug. because, once you're in the tcc. you are fucking in. you have this grip on it but, it's almost like all of us are unaware of it.
i'm not gonna tell these people to get help. i'm not gonna tell them "he/she murdered people!" because you guys already know they did. i'm just not gonna say anything anymore, it's obviously none of my personal business and it's not affecting me in any way, i'm just stating some opinions i have. this doesn't mean you have to leave the tcc, i'm not saying that. stay in this community for however long you like. just take what i say with a grain of salt.
i also don't wanna hear "why do you respect these people's decisions! they're terrible!" i do know the idea of it is terrible, i just see the reasons because i used to be in this community. i understand the mentality, and everything behind it. it's sad to even look at but what can we even do anymore? it's been 5+ years. we can't get them to snap out of it, we're all gonna have to live with it. just pretend they aren't even there. it's not that bad once you realize they're not harming anybody. it's an interest.

Hello friends who may or may not remember me. Don't worry, this is not a request for asylum from Twitter. Though you may not have seen posts from me, know that I have continued to enjoy my tumblr citizenship while studying abroad on twitter.
Aka fanart can be hard as hell and frustrating to find on twitter so once in a while I open this piece of crap app to check out the tags.
That said, I recognize it's been.... uh, years? Since I had any actual "presence" on tumblr. If what I had can qualify as a presence. It was The 39 Clues Fandom. We had like, what, 25 people?
No I'm here today to address: holy shit I used to be a bad person sometimes?
I did and said a lot of shitty, problematic things. You can comb back and see. I haven't deleted anything, nor do I plan to. I've had this blog for over 10 years now. There are posts here documenting interactions with people who have been my friends for that entire time. Through the entire time I was learning how to be.... not as terrible.
Being apart of this place helped me learn how to reflect on myself, even if I was initially unwilling to do so. I know for a long time I was a bit of a holier-than-thou type. I didn't see my own microaggresions and biases. I though if I wasn't intentionally racist, homophobic, antisemitic, etc then I was good. I've learned now that simply isn't the case and I was just an asshole, simple as that.
So while I'm not on this site much anymore, nor do I plan to actively return anytime soon, I want to apologize. To everyone I may have hurt, upset, targeted with the things I said.
Especially to my East Asian friends and community in general. I used to use the name Makaria Lee. I recognize now that it's not an appropriate surname for me to use as a white individual. I apologize for my ignorance, and the name will not be used anymore. I dropped it years ago, and I've done my best to change any usernames I have that use it. I know that won't make up for the years I wrongfully used the name.
I also apologize to the LGBTQ+ community. A long time ago I reblogged a post that was incredibly transphobic. I didn't realize it at the time and mistook it for commentary on something else. I apologize to my friend who reached out and attempted to educate me. That post has been deleted, but it was deleted a long time ago. At the time I didn't identify as nonbinary (only bi), but it definitely goes to show that just because you are a part of a marginalized community, doesn't mean you can't be bigoted towards that very community.
I know I was also a dick to the community board faction of 39 Clues fans and huge apology to all those great kids. It seems like you guys had a blast over there, and just because we were on tumblr doesn't mean we were better than y'all.
This probably seems entirely unnecessary and it probably is! Regardless of its necessity or acceptance, I am sorry for the actions of my youth that caused harm. That's all.

quite whack of me to let myself be perceived online but scrolling through roughly 3 years-ish worth of some of my greatest hits has led me to a few realizations
me from 2-3 years ago was a dramatic fuck and cannot be held accountable for any crimes against cringe law committed during a time of high emotional vulnerability and also god complex
it seems like half of the badass people i used to be friends with here have deactivated and are lost in the wind and i am fucking devastated. where did kitkatz go. where is jelly. why can i not be confident enough to slide in the dms of the cool people who ARE still here

i am so "problematic" now according to past me's standards and i take pride in that actually. dark fiction fucking rocks and "problematic" writers have been some of the coolest, smartest, kindest people i've ever met. i think jasper circa 2019 would have keeled over if he knew i'd be saying this eventually, but—barring a few very specific examples, you can separate fiction from reality, actually, and Mr. 25-Follower-Tumblr-Nobody's remrom fanfiction will never have the real-life influence and power that ACTUAL propaganda in mainstream media has. the character growth from delusion to enlightenment on my part was absolutely legendary, pure poetry
man in general i'm so glad limiting my time on this account helped prompt me to grow up a little more. i've been an adult, but getting away from here and into healthier spaces in turn gave me healthier outlooks on life and made me realize that acceptance from self-righteous randos on the internet is absolutely not worth limiting my own creativity and destroying my mental health + confidence over it
past me predicted like the entirety of the pof video and i cannot believe i never fucking talked about it like WHAT that shit is crazy did y'all see that???? i recited some of the EXACT points and situations they brought up in that video i cannot stop thinking about this
anyway sexies i still don't intend to be active in this fandom because i just,. man i don't fixate on it anymore. i still appreciate the posts and will stay up-to-date on all the vids but i think for now i'm staying checked out of the ts sides fandom.
if anyone even sees this (especially if we were friends before!) and u have any desire to reconnect with me i am so down! current biggest interests are kpop (as always), mcyt, and mcu, but i've been in so many goddamn fandoms over my two decades of life that you could talk to me about most things and i'd be able to contribute something.
