I completely agree those are great points, I'm hoping he won't be a sadboy the entire time because that can be really exhausting, but I won't lie my primary motivation for wanting to read the book is I really want to know more about Thorn, I think he's really interesting and I'm hoping the story will focus more on their bond and Thorn healing from being magically forced to grow. It sounds like it's pretty soon after the end of inheritance

YEAH !!!!!! gd like the thing of thorn being forced to grow and hatch is so insane is the thing and i do actually really want to see what that really means for him. because i remember like.. i think it wouldve been a quote from brom or oromis probably about shruikan, where they say how shruikan grew dark and twisted internally bc of it all. but i cant remember if theres a quote like that about thorn, i feel there might be?

and this concept of like. the dragon hatching and the eldunari is all really cool on its own but like that dragons are sentient pre-hatch and that thorn iirc was forced to hatch for murtagh and then forced to grow as well, and this discussion of a twisted broken mind re: dragons under galbys control... it introduces this concept of thorn being "born broken" in a sense. like hes already been abused before he was even hatched and then all hes ever known is that and has only ever been able to take comfort in the (forced) connection to murtagh. and murtagh connecting to this bc of his childhood abuse etc but that thorn is like. it goes even deeper for thorn bc it was pre-hatching, but also that it raises consideration for what murtaghs childhood fully looked like outside of the little we do know, and it just AWOOOOO its a really good concept and ur actually so right i might have to read it just to see what thorn is like and what goes on there

thats honestly too part of why im wary about canon murtagh stuff - because his character touches on/brings up a lot of *really fucking interesting and complex* questions and issues about abuse and mind control and trauma that i dont know if i would trust anyone outside of like, some random ao3 author with a 30k slowburn backstory fic to have the chops to really do justice, yknow?

like as long as we're talking about old fandoms i was deeeep in that mcu back when the 2012 avengers came out and i got hooked into clint/hawkeye particularly the fanon version and theres some really good fics exploring like, post-avengers (2012) what that would look like for clint in recovery from mind control esp one where he was aware of everything he was doing but was powerless to stop himself from it (or, some interpretations consider, if his mind was warped into truly being happy/relishing it/wanting to do it) - esp if he had been abused as a child and still had that trauma to reckon with. and theres only a few fics that i really would say "THATS a Good Fucking Job writing it" and thats in a fandom with like hundreds to thousands to who knows how many fans + massive fanon pushing that type of longfic into popularity and giving lots of diff takes on it

hi .. first of all i miss writing here. hmm. one of the last posts i had here was for my 20th birthday. 4 days ago i turned 21 and wow. i just cant believe im this old now. time flies T-T

this post is really … supposedly … about my boyfriend and life in general…

uhm, i got a boyfriend, remember? i posted about it before .. it’s honestly been, happy, to say the least. im not disappointed! it’s just that i feel like i have a lot to learn about us, about me. but i really love my boyfriend.

as u know, i am a college dropout (at least for 2 years). life stopped…academically speaking. but when i look at it in a bigger picture, it’s just aligning u know?

im a person whose idea of love is so grand. meeting someone i really like physically, dating when i am already very successful or at least in college, basically, iDEAL! but i met rico and he wasnt what i expected to have. but he’s everything i need and never knew i wanted.

i was actually supposed to write to him but then i felt like i needed to reflect about my emotions on my own first without sharing it to anyone.

i was studying in uap right..i had very QUOTE UNQUOTE HIGH STANDARDS in men. like. u know basic exclusive school men. but then. God works.

i stopped school. didnt get to meet a lot of people in the university. met more people in church.

im kind of done with having thoughts such as “i wish i wasnt late” because looking at my past from where i am right now, it’s really God who made everything like this. and i just really trust him a lot.

if i hadnt stopped school, i wouldnt have met rico or wouldve been close to him. i was brought to his field, to his life because i wasnt on that circle. because as cliche as it sounds, i dont see myself with anyone at this point in time.

i dont see anybody else being my partner for the rest of my life. rico loves me, i love him, he loves my family, he has great plans for his future, he is devoted in church, he is perfect for me. someone who was beautifully created by God. and if He permits, would be my lifelong partner.

sometimes im just a bit of a kid. maybe its because of my lack of priorities, my lack of experience and knowledge, and my personal lackings in general. but i feel like i am being overly irrational because i love him.

but as always, we’re working on it. we’re working on accepting that we have to grow as a couple, but more as individuals too. im working on understanding that i may not always be his priority but that’s okay, because im holding onto the fact that we’re together and he loves me with all his heart and not any less when he wont put me first at certain situations. im working on understanding that he has his own goals too, at his age, at his time, and at his own pace. and i should be the person who fully supports him in all these endeavors.

i am really really not an ideal partner, but i am always willing to work on myself. and i will always choose rico as my partner.

but of course, this post wouldnt be complete without mentioning my family. my parents. my siblings. they are the reason why i am able to love. because they loved me first. i am always thankful for these people in my life. although i still have a long way to go to prove myself to them. i’ll hold on to this strong desire i have that is to be their pride and happiness.

of course, thank you God and Jesus for guiding my heart and my path always. although i dont know exactly that the future holds, i am always hopeful.

Dating Hawks

So I've seen a number of people think that Canon Hawks would be this emotionally manipulative boyfriend IF (big if) he were to find a romantic partner. While I can definitely see that what he's been through at the commission (and now learning about his father) it's understandable that one may think that it would make him heavily toxic in a romantic setting.

However, I feel like people are forgetting that Hawks has a self sacrificing personality. And I mean that in a literal sense. Hawks puts everyone's emotions before his own and I quote,

So to put this in a romantic aspect, he needs a special kind of lover.

Hawks can't just be with someone who loves him for him. Hawks REQUIRES patience as he has probably never experienced genuine love and affection. He's NOT dumb though remember, he's known for his intelligence.  So he knows what the concept of love is, (through the commission and having fans) experiencing it and knowing the definition are two very different things.

Going back to the self sacrifice personality traits, because of this he'd probably have a hard time talking about his problems. Because the last thing he'd want is to make his lover worry ESPECIALLY about him. But he doesn't understand that not saying if he's ok or not only makes them worry more! So he needs communication in order to understand that.

I also don't see the whole Yandere thing with him. Stalking? He works too much. If he were to have a partner, they NEED to be ok with his work schedule. It shouldn't be surprising anyway right? Hawks CANT be with someone who's clingy and unwilling to accept that he will be gone for long periods of time because of his job. 

Gives you a feather to "motor" you? He has to be within a certain amount of distance of the feather for him to be able to hear. Doesn't fly above just to watch cause again he's a b u s y guy. Basically, he wouldn't risk his career to be able to be by his partner's side 24/7. He has a busy life and would only be willing to be with someone who respects that.

I also learned through recent research about trauma that everyone is affected differently. I posted the article on a different post about MHA and mental health but I'll post it here too cause mental health is personally very important. Anyway point is, some may develop PTSD as a result of trauma while others recover from it all together. Because there's SO MUCH we don't know about Hawks, I can't say how much of his past has affected him.

He needs a listener. I think he would also want someone who understands him (don't we all) so he has to feel that they are on the same mental ground as him. Also no he is not a cheater. The bird he is based on mate for life and he takes every relationship with the people he's close to that we've seen seriously imo. Even if it's not romantic at all.

Endeavor? Looks up to and respects him (for obvious reasons). Twice? Considered him to be a good person and tried his absolute hardest to bring him over to the good side. I could honestly do a whole discussion on him and Twice but y'all get the picture. The point is Hawks can be a good partner, he just needs TIME. It would be rough in the beginning stages as there are things he'll need to learn and accept. But if he can get over all those hurdles and his partner is still there, he'd put Fanon Hawks to shame.

[REPOST] MY 2K WORD COMMENTARY/ANALYSIS OF RANBOO’S LORE STREAM

disclaimer: this isnt really an analysis as much as a bunch of commentary and half-baked theories.

-on the way to the mansion he was sort of talking to himself saying stuff like "i'm good i'm good" which m a y be a normal thing but also maybe it's not and it flew over our heads cause he talks to chats and donos like that so often

-again, this one may just be a normal thing but when he was climbing up the stairs in the mansion looking for foolish, he repeats some of his words like down to the exact same tone of voice and everything. 12:42,  "this mansion is way too big actually. this mansion is way too big actually." (why the repeated actually? seems odd to me but again it might just be a normal thing that i haven't picked up on). (right after) "okay okay lemme find him lemme find him" again repeated words in the e x a c t same tone.

-does everyone know about ranboo's silk touch hands ability thing? or was that just a techno and ranboo main character moment. bc if it was, how would foolish know that ranboo could pick up the full cake after it'd been partially eaten. unless everyone on the sever knows about that in which case this means nothing. but if they d o n t know... how would foolish know? ranboo wrote about it in the do not read book so maybe if it's not a publicly known thing maybe foolish got his hands on the book and read it??

-14:53-ish, they're talking about the war room and how it was for tubbo or whatever and ranboo says, and i quote "he prepares for lore but he's never gonna do it." now funny thing is at first i couldn't tell if he said "war" like in reference to the war room or "lore". but after playing the clip over and over i can say with ALMOST 100% certainty that he said lore. there is a definite L sound at the beginning of the word. which either means a) this was a slip up (doubtful bc he said later that there were no mistakes), b) he broke the fourth wall because they were supposed to be rping at that point, or c) i'm completely wrong and he said "war" which leads down an entire other road of possibilities

-15:17 "are you a book reader?" "*checks inventory for do not read book* uh yeah i'd say i'm a book reader-" dunno how i didn't catch this the first time I HATE THAT DAMN BOOK

-16:40 "it's like a metaphor- i have two minds: i have my normal self, my normal little shift-dancing self, and then the builder one. the builder one is demanding. it's a very demanding mind." ranboo then lets out a weird sigh after this. i feel like what foolish was talking about was an indirect(?) parallel to ranboo in and out of enderwalk, there's how he normally is, trying to do best for others, and then there's enderwalk, meeting up with bad guys and "demanding" things (its very late as i write this i really don't know what i'm talking about)

"gain a favor" don't you usually ask people for favors though? how does one "gain a favor"? anyways i'm pretty sure lesson 14 has to do with the deal foolish was talking about. (the deal explained because i now have info: at some point a bit ago foolish met up with ranboo and asked to make a deal, he'd gotten a shulker box from drista. the deal was that ranboo would have ownership of the box, it would be under his name but foolish rents/borrows it indefinitely. ranboo negotiated that if he took ownership of the box he would get a "war favor"  from foolish where if something happens that creates sides, ranboo can ask him a favor that could change his side. but why would foolish want ranboo to have ownership of the shulker you may ask? well i have an answer for you. a theory actually but still. basically since drista technically isn't supposed to give out shit on the server if someone where to have that stuff then they may get in trouble. foolish wants to be able to use the shulker but if it gets found he doesn't want to get in trouble, so he can blame it on ranboo seeing as it's under his name.)

-22:16-ish "i still have this from when you *can't understand whats said here*" well i guess that sort of explains why he had the grass block? idk man (info update: he had the grass block from when ranboo threw it at him telling him to calm down like what ghostbur does with blue)

-"Lesson 67: Leave no evidence of what you have helped with." this is different from the others because there doesn't seem to be at least a semi-direct connection to it? unless maybe at the time ranboo was near something he may have "helped with"? not sure about this one

-"Lesson 94: DO NOT LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE" yeah yeah i get it i get it he's fucked up some shit in enderwalk i don't feel like analyzing this thanks

-OH OH NOTICE HOW HE SAYS "REMEMBERING" WHEN THE LESSONS SHOW UP. IMPLYING THAT THIS ISNT A NEW THING, ITS HAPPENED BEFORE AND NOW HES REMEMBERING IT. MAYBE HE WROTE DOWN THE LESSONS WHEN HE WAS IN ENDERWALK AND NOW THAT HES BEEN EXPERIMENTING ITS BEEN EASIER FOR HIM TO REMEMBER THOSE ENDERWALK MEMORIES

-okokok the experiments are that he's been e x p e r i m e n t i n g on how to purposefully induce the enderwalk state. and we know now that it wasn't from the pain of the water because on the stream afterwords he said that it's caused by the intense fear of something happening. and so the "side effects" of the experiments is that since he's in enderwalk more often(?) he starts remembering more things from it

okay I need your klance fic recs(i feel like you have really good taste)(i mean your icon is literally THE keith of course you have god tier taste)

okay so the thing is.. that when i say am kinda messed up and disgusting sometimes... and becoming a madwoman... am not over exaggerating or saying it in a funky way.. i actually am getting like that .. and that's how i got into the klance fandom initially. i project through lance and read really langsty fics.. and they are messed messed with like violent nsfw, gore, horror, serious mental health issues etc? so if u want those... i'll only send them if u want?

yeah tho i entered with this thingy that klance is gonna be like my guilty pleasure or some shit but them i inevitably fell in love with some GORGEOUS fanfictions out there and KEITH KOGANE in all shapes sizes genders and ages so lol...

but they aren't flowery. that's just not my taste. Some of them might be "problematic"? it's in quotes because i don't agree with it. it's not going to be problematic in plain ignorant sense like racial issues or blatant sexism or mental abuse.... but they might have like stuff which people dont always agree with like drugs. most of them would have nsfw it's just something that i need to have for feels and that's why i asked if u minded it. some things are like more subjective,, characterizations for example, cause like some people dont think keith is a skirt guy cause he isnt in fashion but i think he is petty and rebellious so he will defo do that? some of them would have like physical fights and stuff.. or keith and lance being mean to each other.. some ugly habits which aren't necessarily condemned like anger or drugs.? but with how i see it, it's not glorified, so i see them as human. i love the raw and ugly in these or idk its just human to me (but some people dont like which is completely valid cause we are all different from different environments and think different and resonate with different stuff.)

wait addition: i think some of them will have sexist themes? which i have complained about a lot before. i dont know why authors feel the need to somehow put women down to show how a mlm relationship without any women is superior or some shit it's annoying as fuck i hate it. i dont think i would have any especially sexist fics here, but there might be some with lowkey themes and bad handling of those issues. some of them mau have that subtext of disgusting heteronormative standards, but in subtext uk like bottom lance having a small waist and being giggly and all in contrast to big bulk keith.

session 92 end (bye 413...)

this session was so long but so fucking hectic what the fuck

im going to try and slim it down to its bare essentials rather than go on a full rant because im pretty sure i want to make a post later on about vriska’s characterisation (not anything about me liking her/disliking her, just an analyse on her life really, so it wont be too bias because thats not the point of an analysis. i also want to do one on aradia, been meaning to for a while... hmm... damn i havent done much analogies lately, and i THINK the last long post on a character i made was about davesprite??? so its been a fucking while. that being said, ill leave a lot of details out for this end of session notes so i dont just repeat myself later on. rather will keep to plot points here and then make character points in another)

first we had a page or two where aradia confided in nepeta about her being dead which means nepeta is the only one to know this revelation. im pretty sure aradia confided because there was no other way around it, since nepeta was her server player, so it was inevitable. either way, aradia still put her trust in nep, which means, if you think about it, nobody else knows and nobody else ever will. and considering aradia asked nep to keep it a secret, it probably wont get explored by others until MAYBE later on, whenever its plot relevant, so everyone will be in the dark about it for a while which ill have to remember for future dialogue and scenes with aradia in them

then we met vriska

which, yes, is a meme. i may not have been on a lot of fandom platforms, but you cant escape some of the stuff that goes around the internet. even if you dont know undertale, im pretty sure you know of sans. or komaeda if you have/havent seen danganronpa. its just.. the memes, ya know? ive heard from many sources of the “vriska did nothing wrong” quote (even through mbmbam which??? WHAT) but since i didnt even know what it meant, i never explored it so then i never knew it was a homestuck thing. imagine my surprise...... i think even at the time, i wouldnt have known what homestuck was either honestly so it wouldnt even matter. i only recently learned about the fandom.... uhh, maybe half a year ago??? yeah, august, so my knowledge was slim but vriska is a thing ive heard before, which still shocks me

anyways back to her

so her intro was something, we pretty much found out she likes DnD (a FANATIC in fact) and feeds her lusus the flesh of living trolls. which is fucked up. but i wont get too much into detail about that until i make a post about her life on alternia and the consequences of such. or maybe just alternia in general...?? or *both* heheheh but i feel i need more information before i go off on a tangent about that

then we met??? white text dude?? who is a major asshole but an asshole with insults that hURted, to think i felt bad for VRISKA when that happened. woah.

i said before, but... karkat, he cant really hit deep because his insults are just HIM and his way to express himself. like some people find it natural to just go “FUCK YOU” to show emphasis on a point, and thats just karkats way. he may do it so aggressively that it takes you a second to realize what he said, but usually i dont take anything to heart whenever he spurts out some insults. ive progressed to the point where whatever he says, is just “karkat” and not him trying to be actively mean. rather, its now funny whenever he does say anything SOMEWHAT creative, dude has an imagination that goes on for miles

but vriska?? she IS trying to be a bully, you can tell. but i feel theres something much more to that. like shes trying to prove herself and her “blueblooded” demeanours or whatever the hierarchy is. she doesnt want to show emotions so she makes herself a barrier by being mean is what i can gather from her conversation with kanaya. im pretty sure youre not supposed to understand her until its pointed out and rather see her as an “antagonist” at first, but yeah, her insults are more pitiful than anything and i also cant take her too seriously. i may not like her as a person but her character is interesting because you cant always have the goodie two shoes as the protags. it doesnt diversify the characterisation so i like vriska as someone who makes the plot work and it becomes more interesting since you have someone that makes it harder for the main crew to progress. a happy-go-lucky adventure with no trouble and no turnabouts would be boring in a way. so having a character like vriska, or like this new white text guy, it makes you stop for a second and realize oh shit okay, here’s where shit CAN go wrong and WHY. and i do especially like it when these bastards of characters somehow have more depth than being the “bastard characters”. kinda humanizes them in a way. doesnt mean you have to LIKE them continuously, but theyre humans (trolls whatever) in the end and every person has their own story whether its for better or for worse

for example, i like her being placed into the story, along with white text, by how its all leading to this “accident” and is slowly showing us hints on what happened, but in the end, it wont be until later that we know the full story. even if it was in the past, it apparently is very vital to the plot and shapes how the characters act in the future, so important aspects like that are to look out for. and usually they only occur when theres been some trouble within friend dynamics. so without these bastard of characters, plot wouldnt grow AS strong and i often keep that in mind when i explore a story.

anyways, I HAD A POINT TO THIS: so vriska and karkat are characters who are yes, mean, but it seems to be their personality, and the way they either show emotions and convey feelings (karkat) or make a barrier so they DONT show emotions to produce vulnerability (vriska), white text guy seems to mostly be out to be an asshole. he told vriska she was useless to sum it up but im not too sure if this is one of those “first dialogue” to mould out a bias opinion before we even get to the character themselves, but judging by how vriska and karkat played out, he surely means something bad and i dont know how to explain it. but i cannot base anything off from one piece of dialogue. i dont even know what else to call him other than white text guy so...... ill just leave that out for now, until we finally get his introduction

though, i do wish to mention, and will expand on, im not wrong when i say karkat and vriska are similar but in different context. sorry if youre favourite is karkat and you dont like vriska, or vice versa, but uhhhh their introductions are so similar its uncanny and the way they’re portrayed is the same except one is more on crack about the meddling, while the other is angry about the meddling. similar to how it was with karkat, we were introduced to vriska talking with someone we knew (tavros) whom she obviously didnt like, so obviously, from her point of view, she wanted to be menacing. like how karkat was menacing to jade because she wouldnt listen to his point... he got angry, so he lashed out. but us, the readers, didnt know that. we thought “oh god its this asshole” until we made it further in the story and started to warm up to karkat. it may not be the same with vriska, she may be a bully regardless, but you cannot tell me we moulded a bias towards her character as we did when we first read karkat. theyre both truly mean to other people, maybe both for different reasons, but i do want to point out the similarities and not leave that out. im pretty sure andrew basically gave us a conversation that formed our opinion of a character right off the bat rather than go into depth of WHY they did it, and how they are naturally without the conditions of the game. which, you can also see with vriska when she conversed with kanaya. andrew started off with a character who only appears to speak once, and makes you judge them from first appearance alone, without any explanation as to why they said what they said and how they are with other characters, let says. so you assume they were simply a rude character. now look how karkat turned out. so im guessing in homestuck, the first impression should never be the opinion you stick with until MAYBE 5 more conversations with that character (each one different)

my opinion of equius kinda.. differs. which i should really put in place the “dont judge by first impression” rule, because at first i thought he was rude with, then i thought he was hhh okay, because i understood why he was being so protective over nepeta and her team placement, since the people she was going to play with WERE dangerous. but if you think about it, both sides will probably put you in danger. it just depends on which ones you confide in more to protect your back rather than those which would cause trouble on purpose, in my HONEST opinion. so equius was a little overdramatic on that part, but i got what he meant. he was on the blue team and he didnt want to leave nepeta alone without him on the red. but then this session happened. and he went back to being weird again because of the whole porn thing, especially being so open about it like dude chill youre 13. but the thing is, then i felt bad for him because hes basically touch starved. to say that he could break anything he touches, i doubt people would go up to him for hugs. in fear they would be crushed to death by a simple hug. so im guessing hes rather lonely and doesnt really know how to interact because of this. so i felt sad that he had to live a life where he needs to be careful of everything he touches so it doesnt break randomly. see? poor dude. but then things got weird. and im pretty sure hes a masochist. so my opinion on equius is a fucking cosine graph

which brings us to the final point:

gamzee and equius’ conversation

i dont even know.....like.........gamzee was unaware that equius was using him for his own power play roleplay, right? gamzee knew it was a roleplay but it had had some.. idk.... obvious sexual implications? and i bet gamzee didnt really know that? he thought they were only venting out through a simple roleplay and trying to get closer because he originally thought equius hated him, considering equius flat out said “i hate you” and gamzee went “you tell me everyday and im okay with that” so.. gamzee probably wanted only to get closer to equius so he helped out his little problem which.. thats so sweet but i feel bad he was coerced into something he didnt get, especially since he was innocent enough to go along without knowing equius’ true gain

anyways, equius was getting off with the hierarchy thing. considering he’s “lower” than gamzee, and gamzee is surprisingly ...high on the spectrum??? so equius wanted gamzee to boss him around, because it felt only natural to him since he’s the “inferior one” and gamzee is The Big Man. like i get that, but it was written in a way that was so uncomfortable, that i wish i didnt. equius is just a weird character... hes not BAD per say, but hes... hes something alright

but im really liking gamzee. the two things which struck me in that one conversation, was the “i dont get why we should dictate people by the colour of their blood, i just see people as people” piece of dialogue and “i cant go around pleasing just everything so its alright if you hate me”

thats... so good, idk. i really liked that. i also really liked when kanaya said “youre dangerous but dangerous people are needed and are important because it shapes you” like <33 my fucking heart

god homestuck may be a tad on the weird side with some of its characters but it surely knows how to create great lines of dialogue

to those who have been following me from the first (cringe) days, would know i post reallyyyy randomly. it was more original posts rather than reblogs. and i minimized on that when my following increased. there’s 4.4k amazing people following this blog in just a little over a year. so i toned down the personal stuff right away. honestly got conscious and i didn’t like it because the blog started to feel less like it’s mine. i can’t openly switch to a different content/media or just scream nonsense. i can’t answer personal asks freely. can’t interact with mutuals. then i just decided that i won’t mind anymore. as long as my post isn’t offensive and/or rude, i will post as i wish. i don’t normally engage in hateful posts because it bums me out. like a minute into reading these asks they really upset me then writing my response and letting this sit in the drafts made me think i won’t bother anymore because i could just let the asks get lost into the void and it’s not like i did anything wrong, but i guess i had a little energy today. and yes, will be turning off anon asks from here on out.

Trust | Doctor Who

Pairing: Doctor x Reader (readers choice as to which regeneration this is, I personally had a mix of ten and eleven in mind when writing)

Warning: gets super angsty at points, very tiny mention of blood, possible death? and some very cheesy fluff

A/N: okay so this has been sitting in my drafts for months and I’ve been reluctant to post it but then I thought what the hell I’m just gonna do it. I thought about splitting it into parts but decided to just stick it up as a oneshot. And as always spelling and grammar is not my strongest skill so please be kind :)

“Finally, you’re here! I’ve been waiting for hours, you really need a more comfortable sofa you know..” The Doctor says lounging on your sofa, staring you excitedly waiting for an answer. 

“What did I tell you about letting yourself into my apartment?” You say, dropping your bag to the floor.

“I know” he continues, ignoring your question “I could have just jumped in the TARDIS, travelled to the moment just before you got home and spared myself the agony but I didn’t know exactly how long you would be out and quite frankly that feels like more effort than I feel like taking part in today. But anyway enough about me..” he takes a deep breath ”how did it go?”

“How did what go?” You respond blankly

“Your date”

You take a sharp intake of breath, trying to keep your expression blank to hide any emotion. “I don’t know what you’re talking about” 

“Oh come on y/n, this is me you’re talking to. You know you can’t keep secrets from me”

“I’m not keeping any... what makes you think I’ve been on a date?”

“It’s obvious. Your hairs down, you never wear your hair down unless its a special event or you’re trying to impress someone. Your clothes are far too fancy for work, too risqué for a family occasion. And your face, there’s a glow to your face like you’ve been blushing. Soooo, how was it? I want to hear everything” he leans forward, resting his chin in his hands staring up at you with hope.

He reminded you of an overexcited puppy. Ever since your last boyfriend had dumped you via text while you were off on a TARDIS adventure, the Doctor had been trying to set you up with every potential candidate he found. You, on the other hand, had just wanted to forget about boys all together and focus on having fun with the Doctor. That was until you met Jack. 

“look, I just... we don’t have time for this right now. Isn’t there some planet that needs saving or something?”

“Ah, they can save themselves” batting his hand away like he was trying to hit a fly ”this is more important. You had a date!”

“Just leave it, please”

“No I will not, until you tell me everything”

“There’s nothing to tell”

“Sure there is, why wont you talk to me?”

“BECAUSE HE STOOD ME UP, OKAY?” You suddenly explode and the Doctor just watches you silently. “He didn’t come. I waited in that cafe for two and a half hours and he didn’t come. No phone call, not even a text. Two and a half hours I sat on my own, watching the door, trying to ignore the pitiful looks from everyone else. ‘Oh look at that poor sad girl, cant even get a date.. pathetic...’” you start to break down before you can finish your sentence. The Doctor jumps up and pulls you into a tight hug. “What is wrong with me? What did I do wrong?” You cry.

“Hey no, shhhhh, nothing is wrong with you” the Doctor reassures, stroking your hair “you are perfect”  

“Why didn’t he show? Am I that dull to talk to? Did he spot me in window, take one look and run the other way? Or maybe he had no intention of ever coming, he just set me up as a joke. And i fell for it like the fool that i am?”

“NO” the Doctor says firmly, taking your face in his hands and staring into your eyes “look at me. You are NOT a fool. Okay? You are one of the smartest, bravest, funniest, kindest, most interesting people I’ve ever had the pleasure of travelling with. Honestly. You amaze me every single day. Don’t you ever speak about yourself like that”

He kissed you on the forehead and you show him a weak smile. 

“I just don’t understand why he wouldn’t come. When we spoke on the ohine this morning he kept saying he was so excited to meet.”

“Ah” The doctor suddenly remembers,  taking a step back and looking to the ground like something was bothering him. 

“What is it?” 

“I think that maybe this might have slightly been my fault..”

You don’t say anything, you just look at him with confusion. 

“I may have accidentally on purpose bumped into Jack on his way to meeting you and accidentally scared him off... accidentally...”

Your mouth drops open as the realisation of what the Doctor has done sinks in. Your face switches through confusion, to disbelief, to anger. 

“You did WHAT?!”

“I just wanted to check him out, ask him about his intentions. You know how I feel about people called Jack! Look I just needed to make sure he wasn’t, you know, some sort of insane axe murderer type”

“YOU’RE the one who’s insane!” You shout back, now pacing around the room, hands up in your hair “I cant even look at you right now... you know not all men are like Captain Jack Hark- wait..” suddenly you stop pacing, turning to look at him “how do you know his name? Come to think of it, how did you even know I was going to meet anyone?”

“You, you left your phone on the TARDIS console the other day while you ‘popped to the loo’” he says, making air quotes with his fingers as he quoted you, trying to make a joke lighter but actually just pissing you off even more. “It kept doing the buzzy buzzy thing so i picked it up to shush it and saw all these messages from Jack talking about looking forward to meeting you and I thought-“

“What? You thought anyone who would want to go on a date with me must be insane?!”

“No, no no no of course not no I-“

“Then why? Doctor, why would you do this to me?”

“Because I love you” he blurts out. You fall silent, eyes fixed on his face. “I love you y/n, and I couldn’t stand the thought of you being hurt again” he pauses “and I think that maybe, deep down, I was terrified of the thought that you could fall in love with someone who isn’t me”

You just stand there, silently staring at his face. You’d never seen him this vulnerable, this honest about his feelings. 

“No..” you say and he looks at you confused “no, NO. You can’t do this to me. You can’t spend the last few months trying to set me up with other people, make me think that you don’t think of me at all in that way and then turn around and tell me you LOVE me?! What the HELL Doctor? You can’t just play with people emotions like that!”

“I never intended to hurt you, y/n, that’s the last thing I wanted and I hate myself for hurting you. But bad things seem to happy to the people I love, and I think I thought that if you were with someone else then, you’d be safe? I, I don’t know. Just, please y/n I need you to know that I am so sorry.” 

You just look at him. It’s hard to see the man who is usually so cool and calm actually starting to panic. 

“Please say something.” He pleads but you continue to look at him silently, your thoughts racing a million miles an hour in your head. 

“Y/N?” He says again, stepping forward and reaching out to you but you take a step back and look down at your feet. 

“I trusted you...” you voice comes out quiet and full of hurt “...with everything. I put my life in your hands.” You pause, look up at the doctor and take a deep breath “I don’t think I can do that anymore”

“You can-“ he steps towards you again but you turn away and close your eyes.

“I need to be on my own” 

The Doctor takes a step back and nods silently. 

“well, you know how to find me when you're ready” he sighs sadly. 

He turns and walks to your bedroom where the TARDIS is parked. As he reaches for the door he stops to take one last look at you, willing you to turn around and run into his arms. But you don’t. He leaves. 

You hear the sound of the TARDIS leaving and you drop to the floor, finally letting out all the emotion you had been trying to keep in. 

The Doctor watches you from the screen in his TARDIS as tears fall from his eyes.

“RUN!” The Doctor shouts as he turns and starts sprinting. You immediately follow as you hear guns firing behind you and the Daleks shouting “EXTERMINATE!” 

Together you run down winding corridor until finally the TARDIS is in sight. The Doctor gets there before you, opening the TARDIS door and holding his hand out to you 

“almost there y/n, keep running” he encourages but suddenly a Dalek appears infront of you. Before you can do anything a laser shoots from the end of the Daleks gun and hits you.

Your eyes shoot open as you sit upright in bed breathing heavily. Just another nightmare. 

You leave your house and head towards the bus stop as you do every morning to get to work since you went back to your mundane TARDIS free life. It’s been six months since the Doctor told you he loved you and you hadn’t seen or even spoken to him since. But you couldn’t help but think about him every day. Part of you wanted to pick up the phone and call him to come back, but the other part of you was still hurting and confused. 

After the Doctor had left Jack had messaged you apologising for not showing up to your date and told you about the man who had scared him. You made up a story about him being an overprotective family member of yours and that he wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore. You and Jack dated for a couple of months but when you discovered he was still seeing other girls you called it off. Maybe the Doctor was right to scare him away.

You reach the bus stop just as your bus is puling away. You tried running to catch up with it but you were too late. You slump down on the bench to wait for the next one and again your thoughts drift to the Doctor. Wondering where he is now, what planet he’s saving or what new aliens he’s meeting. You wonder if he’s found anyone else to travel with and your heart sinks at the thought. You take out your phone and scroll down the contact list till you reach ‘Doc’. Your finger hovers over the call button. What if he has moved on? What if he doesn’t care about you at all anymore? He told you he loved you and you turned him away. 

You pushed your anxiety aside and hit the call button but just as it stared to ring you heard screams coming from the park over the road. You hung up the phone and crossed the road toward the park. People were running towards you, presumably away from whatever was cause the screams but you ran towards it. Your time with the Doctor had definitely made you brave. 

You continued to run through the park until you heard a noise that stopped you dead in your tracks. A noise you hadn’t heard since your days of travelling. A noise you hoped you would never hear again. 

“EXTERMINATE!”

You felt your body freeze in panic. This is just another dream right? You pinch yourself but you don't wake up. Okay so this is real. But how could the Daleks be here on earth? The Doctor banished them last time-

“EXTERMINATE!”

The sound pulled your attention back to earth and you looked up just in time to see a Dalek shooting straight at you. You dived out the way and ran as fast as your legs could carry you towards a woodland area over one side of the park. You ran through the woods, mind racing as fast as your feet until you tripped on a root sticking out the ground and skidded across the floor cutting your knees pretty bad.  You get up, hobble over to lean against a tree and pull out your phone. You need the Doctor. 

But before you can press call you hear another familiar voice behind you that sent chills down your spine. Another one of the Doctor’s rivals you had unfortunately met on your travels, probably the most dangerous of them all. 

“Hello y/n” he says and you turn around slowly to see the Master standing behind you grinning maniacally. 

“Long time no see” he chuckles but then his face turns dead serious “give me the phone”

You stare at time, full of panic.

“GIVE ME THE PHONE!” He shouts which makes you jump. You immediately hand your phone over and he grabs your wrist tightly, pulling you in so your face is close enough to whisper  “see, that wasn’t so hard was it?” Before smiling again and letting you go. You take a step back, holding your wrist in your hand. The Master starts walking slowly around you, making you feel like a dying animal being watched by a vulture.

“Where is the Doctor? Why are you alone, I thought you were his new pet?”

You look down at the ground. 

“Not anymore” you reply but your voice is barely audible

“Speak up little pet!” He says in your ear from behind you before continuing the circle around you

“Not anymore” you say slightly louder and the Master stops in front of you again.

“Oh? What happened? Lover’s tiff?” 

“It’s complicated” you shake your head dismissively.

“Complicated huh? Well let’s see what if we can clear things up shall we?” He takes your phone from his pocket and puts it on speaker you can hear the ringing tone and then the voice you’d missed so much...

“Y/N?” He sounds worried

“Guess again lover boy” the Master laughs changing the call to a video call so the Doctor can see him grinning. 

“What have you done?! If you’ve hurt her-“

“She’s safe” he interrupts, walking over and putting his arm around you to pull you into the Doctor’s view “for now.. You see, I’ve invited some old friends of yours to this planet you seem to care so much about and well, they’re making quite a mess.”

“Master!” The Doctor tries to speak.

“DON’T INTERRUPT ME!” He shouts and you flinch. “As I was saying. The Daleks are having a field day with your humans, they are extra trigger happy today I tell you.” He laughs as he let’s go of you and reaches into his pocket “but so I am”

He pulls a gun and his face changes again to be completely serious. 

“So it seems Doctor you have a choice to make. You can stop the Daleks...” he puts the gun to your head and moves the camera so the Doctor can see the fear in your eyes “or you can stop me.”

“Master please, please don’t do this-“ he begins pleading.

“Oh I love to hear you beg! So what will it be? The girl or the earth, its your choice Doctor” the Master hangs up the phone, dropping it to the floor and stamping on it. 

You close your eyes and try to steady your breath but you’re shaking so much that you can’t focus on anything else. You feel the gun move away from your head and you open your eyes cautiously. The Master sits on the floor, back leaning against a tree. He gestures for you to come sit by him, but you don’t move. 

“Oh come on, I’m not gonna shoot you yet. Relax”

You slowly move to sit near him, but not too close, and cross your legs. You stare at the ground, twiddling your thumbs nervously as you work up the courage to speak. 

“Why are you doing this?” You ask, tears in your eyes.

“Because I’m BORED-UH!” He replies, emphasising the ‘D’ at the end like an impatient child. 

“Because you’re bored?” You ask in disbelief, feeling rage build up inside you “you’re killing people, innocent good people who don’t deserve any of this because you’re bored? You’re insane!” You shake your head. 

“Thank you” he smiles and does a little bow from where he’s sat and you roll your eyes. 

“so tell me, what happened with you and the Doc huh? Why’d he leave you behind?” The Master asks and you pull your knees up in your chest, hugging your arms around your legs.

“its complicated” you say, really not wanting to get into this conversation with him. 

“so you keep saying, tell me anyway”

“why do you care?” You look at him getting fed up. 

“I don't really, just being nosey” he says dismissively putting his arms behind his head and leaning back against the tree.

Thinking the conversation is over you decide to also lean your head back against the tree so you can look up and the leaves and sky above you. 

“did he run over your cat?”

You look at him in confusion.

“what? No he-“

“did he kiss your mom?

“no-“

“did he break your phone?”

“you just did!” You point to your broken phone lying on the floor a few feet in front of you.

“ah yeah, oops” he shrugs “did he-“

“he told me he loved me!” you interrupt, fed up of all the questions. The Master looks disappointed, and then confused.

“I don't get it. Why’s that a bad thing? what, you don't love him back?”

“no I do.. I did.. I, its compli-“

“if you say it's complicated one more time I'm just gonna shoot you now” he glares at you and you bite your lip. For a moment you had forgotten you were talking to one of the most dangerously unpredictable beings in the universe. “if he loves you, and you love him then what’s complicated?” 

“yeah well, you're not capable of love so you just, you wouldn’t understand” you sigh

The Master brings his hand to his chest and fakes hurt at your comment

“no need to be so mean, I'm sure lover boy will be here soon” 

You shake your head “he might not. I was horrible to him. He told me he loved me and I told him to leave me alone. And that was 6 months ago. He owes me nothing”

“thats not true y/n” you hear and turn to see the Doctor standing there. Your heart feels like it skips a beat as you let out a small sigh of relief. You go to stand up but the Master beats you to it, suddenly holding the gun and pointing it at you again

“you stay! Down!” you kneel down, wincing at the pain from where you cut them earlier “thats a good little pet” he lowers the gun but still has that crazed look in his eyes which fills you with fear. 

“are you okay?” The Doctor asks and you give him a small nod.

“well isn’t this sweet, the lovers reunited once more” he put his hands to his heart “I could almost cry.. shame I'm not capable of love eh y/n?” He drops the act glaring at you and you gulp. 

“leave her out of this Master, this is between you and me. And call off the Daleks too, this planet doesn’t deserve this”

“this planet, Doctor, deserve everything thats coming to it” he’s getting angrier by the second “now I gave you a choice. The earth, or the girl?” 

The Master points the gun back in your direction and you feel the panic rising, your heart pounding. You look to the Doctor and he gives you a reassuring glance. 

“you chose wrong” the Master pulls the trigger and time seems to slow down.

Through the ringing in your ears you just about hear the Doctor shout NO and you feel pain right in the middle of your chest. You clutch your hands to your chest and look down to see them covered in deep red. As you fall onto your side you look back up at the Doctor who goes to run at the Master but is stopped when points the gun at him. The Master says something you don't hear then turns and calmly walks away. The Doctor stands for a second watching him, thinking about following but looks down at you and runs over to put pressure on your wound. 

“no… you have to… go after him” you say breathlessly 

The Doctor shakes his head “i’m not leaving you-”

“you have to.. the Daleks-“

“we’ll stop them together y/n, look at me” he puts one hand on your face, thumb rubbing on your cheek trying to keep you awake “stay with me”

“i’m sorry” you cry

“you have nothing to apologise for” you can see tears forming in the Doctors eyes and you know this is the end

“I love you” and one last breath leaves your body as everything goes dark. 

The Doctor remains crouched on the floor cradling your body as finally the tears stream down his face. He takes a deep breath and his face changes from sorrow to determination.

Your eyes shoot open as you sit up straight taking frantic breaths. The Doctor runs over, crouching down next to you. He takes your hand in one of his and uses the other to hold the back of you neck, trying to focus your attention on him. 

“y/n, its okay. y/n, you’re safe. Look at me, you’re safe. Just breathe with me okay. in, out, in, out..”

You take deep breaths with him and slowly feel yourself start to calm down a bit. Thats when you realise you’re on the floor of the TARDIS control room. The Doctor presses his forehead against your own and you close your eyes still taking deep breathes. Once the Doctor is satisfied that you’re calm enough he moves his head away, takes off his jacket and puts it around your shoulders. You pull in tightly around you, finding it comforting. 

“how are you feeling?” The Doctor asks cautiously, watching you closely. 

You think for a moment before responding. The Doctor moves over to look at one of the screens on the central console. 

“confused. Ive been having really weird dreams lately, I don't know what’s real anymore.” You look up at the Doctor hoping for answers.

“What do you dream about?” He asks, still studying the screen. 

“You” you respond shyly, embarrassed of your answer. The Doctor looks surprised as he looks at you “travelling with you” you clarify. 

“And what happens in the dreams?”

“Well, we’re running. Always running” you laugh and he smiles “usually away from something terrifying. Then every time we’re almost safe, whatever it is that’s chasing us finally catches me. And then I wake up in my own bed-” you stop suddenly, realising something. The Doctor watches you. 

“Doctor, how did I get back here? Back in the TARDIS? I don’t remember...” you trail off. The Doctor crouches back down in front of you.

“y/n tell me about your last dream” you sit, staring at the floor shaking your head. Why can’t you remember coming back to the TARDIS

“Y/N look at me” he places a hand on your shoulder “tell me what you just dreamed”

“Um, I was, I was in the park and the Daleks were there. Shooting at people, killing.. and uh, I ran just like I always do. And then the Master was there, and he caught me. And he, uh...” you place your hand on your chest “he shot me”

You look up at the Doctor who just looks back at you, studying your every move and facial expression. “And then I woke up. You must think I’m mad” 

The Doctor moves his hand to hold the hand which is still covering your chest. You look down at his hand and watch as he gently squeezes it affectionally. 

“You’re not mad y/n. All of that... it really happened.” You look up at him. “The Master shot you” he pauses, finding the next part hard to say “and you died. I was there, I held you.” He takes a deep breath “I brought you back.”

“How?”

“I did something I’m really not allowed to do.” You look at him confused “I transferred some regeneration energy into you. I wasn’t even sure it would work but it did. You started breathing again, but you've been unconscious for 3 days.”

“3 days?!” 

“That’s why your memories a bit... fuzzy. But I can fix that, if you want me to. And I can stop those nightmare too.”

“Thank you!” You throw your arms around the Doctor and squeeze him tight. He smiles, he’d missed this. 

“Oh..” he pulls away but keeps hold of your arms “sorry, about you know, leaving you on the floor. I needed you close to the console so I could monitor your heart rate.”

“Look, you brought me back to life. You could have left me asleep in a bin and I still couldn’t be angry with you” You laugh and he looks relieved. “Wait, what about the Daleks?”

“Oh they’re gone, don’t worry about them. Now, how about I sort out those memories for you?” He asks and you nod. He goes to put his fingers on your temples, but you move your head back slightly stopping him. 

“BUT, there’s something I really need to do first?” You say, taking his face in your hands and kissing him. You pull away and smile shyly. 

“I should have done that 6 months ago” you say, he smiles. “Right, now I’m ready”

He puts his hand up to your face. 

“Remember, you can close any doors to me if there’s things to don’t want me to see” he says.

You look him in the eyes. 

“I trust you”

Med Rewatch Series (#5)

S3 e3: Trust Your Gut. From what I remember this is a big one. I just remember this episode title honestly but we’ll see what happens.

-look at that! ava’s just casually in this scene, minding her own business, doing her job! you would never guess that this is a character who would later have a psychotic break and commit suicide.

-that’s really the point i’m trying to make. I hate all those posts where they’re like ‘i hated ava before, but season 4 has finally shown her true colors’ like not even?? no??? we’re trying to prove that that was never even a thing. i want to eliminate the possibility of s4 happening from your minds. nothing from s3 should ever be used as foreshadowing. that’s what the rewrite is about, ava being a good character. ava was never going to commit suicide. she was never gonna go psychotic. that should be ingrained in everyone’s minds.

-anyways, back to the episode.

-connor takes everything like a personal attack. relax

- i never realized how fun stoll was. like obviously not in the story but as a character he’s hilarious. unattached by everyone else’s drama

-awww. this maggie interaction is amazing. tapping sarah on the shoulder (neck actually but whatever) just to say hi. adorable. and sarah is already super jumpy. come on. her anxiety is already setting in. they really gave sarah two huge storylines in the same season.

-maggie... no one else would ever slash sarah’s tires. i mean honestly

-WHY DOES CONNOR HAVE TO CONTROL OF EVERYTHING - honestly ava was just reading off the chart and he can’t even let her do that he has to take over just to say the same things.

-and the way ava just takes it with her smug smile

-she is such a strong character there is no reason she would have gone crazy over connor she literally needs nothing from him.he has not ever had anything that she needed. 

- SHE’S JUST ROLLING HER EYES, SMIRKING, AND SHAKING HER HEAD AT THIS INSECURE MAN ava I love you.

-okay there’s no way i can explain it but after rolling her eyes at connor Ava turns and looks at the patient and instantly her face changes and you can see such pure concern in her eyes?? s4 ava could never (can someone please rb with a picture of what i’m talking about? it’s uncanny and so so sincere.)

- she’s in control of her emotions. she cares so much for her patients so don’t even try to play that card. the only thing connor has done literally since she got here is get in her way.

-AND CONNOR LOOKS AT HER WITH SUCH DISTRUST AND CONTEMPT. TELL ME HOW. this is insane. exasperating.

-and the way she smiles and comforts the patient. i mean come on. she’s just so amazing. AND COMFORTING. if ava really was as heartless as people say, she wouldn’t take the effort to do that. connor didn’t even do that, he just scowls at ava.

-which just proves my point, ava is only ever mean to people who she thinks deserve it. and, the more that I think about it, she’s never really actually mean. sure, she’s blunt and rude, but never cutting. she’s nice to her patients (and I know what you’re going to say, it’s not because she has to be. she’s a doctor, she still wants to help people). but when her patients are dicks, she’s not nice to them. she’s as snarky with as she’s professionally allowed to be.

-like, take this guy. he seems nice enough. he’s funny, polite, comes across charming, so ava is nice and is polite back to him.

-let’s move on.

-why is connor always so suspicious of ava. come on. he’s the one who should be sus. she literally said ‘Don’t worry, Ray, we’ll take good care of you’ and he’s giving her this weird side eye.

-ethan and will being in this board meeting is really adorable to me. like, just, bros.

-oh godddd sarah please relax. sweetie. please.

-sarah fucking tranqed him oh my god

-oh my god noah asking people for help literally shut the fuck up

-straight people are gross. not to hate but how does anyone sit through manstead

-connor literally needs to chill. I know this bit (they’re arguing over menial things in surgery) plays more to them just picking on each other, pulling each other’s pigtails on the playground if you will (i didn’t like that analogy but I used it anyway), but if you look at it, ava was only trying to help connor (suggesting a wider possible target and an easier to handle stitch) and connor took it wayyy to personally. sure the second bit of advise is just poking at him, but she suggested a better spot on the base and he shut her down without any thought.

-and then latham points out that there is no point in arguing, to which ava defers, then connor snidely says ‘Thank you, Doctor, Now, how about from here on out we keep the background noise to a minimum’ and ava just shakes her head, scoffing.

-at this point ava just likes annoying connor because its fun. it’s entertaining. he gets so upset. everyone’s done that, just be annoying for fun (its bad to say but i mean come on everyones done it)

-another point, ava immediately deferring to latham might read to some as her being a suck up but that’s not what it is.

-ava really likes seeing how close to the line she can get. she goes right up to it, but she never crosses it. the same is true with her interactions with other people outside of surgery.

-I really like this story of the girl who passed out and hit her head, and her brother’s a wreck, and her parents obviously think the brother’s a disappointment. and it was finals week so of course she wasn’t taking care of herself. and the brother knew that, and you can tell he cares so much and feels so bad. it’s nice

-complication on the surgery they were working on. ava comes in with a solution (off of connor’s mistake during surgery after not following her advice) but I have a sneaking suspicion that by the end connor will be back on top

-the effort it took connor to say ‘it’s a good idea’ come on man just fucking let it go

-i’m glad we’ve all agreed that connor’s just a dick

-aw look at that she even held the door for him. connor would never

-i don’t want to overly push the ‘med is sexist’ thing but how is it that in a storyline between nat and ethan, characters who have never been romantically involved, they still pull the woman thinks one thing, man refuses to believe it and is right dynamic. i mean come on med seriously. what the fuck is wrong with you.

-the look of annoyance and disbelief on ava’s face that connor hadn’t actually messed up. comedic, but also i get your pain.

-glad that latham sides with ava, ava advocating for a riskier procedure so they could ensure the blockage is removed)

-(something could be said about ava’s high-risk, high-reward ideals. you could even draw the parallel to events in s4 and s5, even though I really don’t want to. it’s an interesting and notable character trait to say the least)

-YOOOO I FORGOT HOW METAL THE PSYCH STORY GETS

-dude straight up cuts his abdomen open and his intestines spill out

-the fear and shock and emotion on sarah’s face make me feel so bad for her

-WAIT IS THIS THE EPISODE WHERE SHE LOSES THE END OF THE INSTRUMENT? IS THAT WHAT THIS IS? i am not prepared to watch an ava bekker breakdown rn.

-the shock on ava’s face when connor said nice job.

-ava actually tried to apologize to connor. well, not apologize but she feels a little bit bad for just how abrasive she’s been to connor. (connor didn’t necessarily have to make it super competitive). Ava said “Look, I know i have the tendency to step on toes. it’s nothing personal”

-and now they’re not arguing and are this close to actually working like a team

-and i cannot believe connor’s big one-liner is ‘Murphy’s law’

-the emotion on april’s face when the girl’s parents won’t even let her brother grieve for her. I feel it. astounding. its so painful omg

-ava: “your optimism is enchanting.” when i was writing earlier I was worried I wasn’t being accurate with her dialogue and making it sound too overly formal but i guess I nailed it. also, this line reinforces how much I love her (so does every other line)

-connor just refusing to give ava anything, no credit, no nothing. doesn’t even give her credit for earning the surgery saying “you may have elbowed your way onto the case, but he is still my patient” (I JUST TRANSITIONED INTO A QUOTE SO SMOOTHLY WHY CANT I DO THAT IN MY LANG RHETORICAL ANALYSIS ESSAYS YOU’RE KIDDING)

-hey it’s joey!

- i can appreciate him so much more when he’s not chasing after reese

-do you remember their first meeting? bickering over who gets the last splenda? (real meet cute amirite)

-dr. charles remarking how all the scientific advances can’t beat human instinct, nice little tie in to the episode title

-ava just smiling while connor waits for her to apologize. she. takes. no. shit.

-i literally hate connor’s face so much. it fucking looks predatory like stop looking at her like that. it’s almost like you were planning her psychotic break

-ava’s cunning, saying ‘we’ instead of ‘i’ when talking about the decisions being made. she’s smart. she knows what to do. She knows how to present herself. (and yeah, a little hypocritical that she said to connor ‘when you fail, I will make sure that it is noted that it was your fault and not mine,’ but like I said, she just knows how to present herself)

-latham: “Dr. Bekker seems to enjoy this discordance.”

-rhodes’ face when changing his mind and saying ‘maybe I do’ when asked if he enjoyed it too - he literally makes the dumbest faces. please. stop. (is it a straight people thing?)

Alright. Another episode down. 17 to go. This was actually a pretty good episode all around. Ava took none of connor’s shit and you’d have to squint to find any sort of romantic subtext in their interactions, which is huge win in my book. reese’s storyline wasn’t too bad, she didn’t go through too much trauma, which, the bar for watching med is incredibly low i guess. This was a really good episode for ava. like I said before, very little romantic subtext, and she had a redeeming quality in the way she obviously cared for her patient at the beginning of the episode.

The main point is something I’ve been reiterating again and again. Ava cares about her patients. Ava is mean to connor because she knows someone needs to put him in his place, and she is glad that it is her.

All in all, this was a pretty good Ava episode. Very happy.

The KoA Prediction Post - MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS BELOW CUT - I JUST DONT KNOW. *shrug*

My book is here, I haven’t even opened it for fear that even the map could spoil me - and believe me, that is incredibly hard for me if you have seen my Erilea post. 

So Below the cut I’m going to put some of my predictions for Kingdom of Ash. I don’t want to be too specific, and this isn’t a theory post - the boat has sailed on those due to no time left to write them. (just finished writing it and it got long... whoops)

Please do not read if you don’t want my predictions. 

I have avoided all spoiled content and even excerpts released by bloomsbury/+partners. 

I have only read the acotar/tog series before this... a few times tho ;). 

I have only skimmed koa quotes on those lovely blue backgrounds and tried not to freak out about them - or look too deeply because I viewed those as spoilers of a kind.

so here we go...

KOA PREDICTIONS - IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

Character Predictions:

1. Yrene is a witch

2. Elorcan will be ok

3. Chaol will use his cane in a fight

4. Yrene has royal blood - light of Ellwye was Nehemia’s title, but what if it belonged to another?

5. Elena lied to the gods when she promised the sacrifice of Mala’s heir because Gavin tasted her lies - reveal what she will do instead. Gavin promised something to the Sin eater god - cant remember if thats just theory or confirmed anymore.

6. Elide is revealed to be descendant of Rhiannon and maybe... maybe... Brannon’s line. A hidden child from a relationship that grew after Mala’s sacrifice and once Elena was laid to rest, So Elena would have no knowledge - I remember that hand brushing Brannon’s cheek in that tomb.

7. Evangaline is super important - either as a child for Rowaelin when they cannot have their own or to bring hope to Terrasen. I’m always suspicious of children being given major roles in an otherwise “adult/post18yrold” world (but that means the likelyhood of Lysandra dying is high and that hurts - a lot!! so I don’t want to think of it too much).

8. I’m not predicting deaths - i’m not ready.

9. The Bluebloods side with Manon. 

10. Dorian/The King of Ardarlan has/had witch blood

11. Chaol’s family keep/heritage is about fighting darkness seeping through from the whitefangs and ferrian gap and will be important. 

12. Darrow has to die. He’s too much like the “steward of Gondor” in Lord of the Rings and pisses me off. So he can just die. 

13. Maeve is not going to die. thats my gut telling me that.

Storyline Predictions

1. There will be a volcanic eruption that will seal ancient gateways that used to be used bring things from other worlds into Erliea. - rising up from the core of Erilea and spreading into all the forgotten places in the world.  

2. There will be a lake that acts as a traveling mirror - aka the silver lake. Maybe to another realm as Nesryn saw shadows in the lake on the southern continent, and that just seems way to convenient OR to another continent or place as a means of escape OR for armies to travel through.

3. The Wyrd gate will be in the Ferrian Gap/Omega... though 

“RIFT // HOLD” is so obvious. it could easily be there too. 

4. Aelin will not be able to save the day alone

. - joining of the 12 scions who each have a god guiding them - they will all be needed at some point, sacrifice for the endgame is possible or a special skill. its yet to be seen. 

5. Yrene is taking the place Nehemia thought was hers. The light of Ellwye.

... Traveling Mirror in EOS - 

“Keys and gates and locks—portals and pits and prophecies.” EOS 

She is going to deal with the “pits” of despair within everyone, saving the creatures infected by the Valg. (A discussion between Dorian and Manon in Eos about what will happen to the witches is still at the forefront of my mind - what will happen to All the valg creatures who have been a part of Erilea for millennia? I think Yrene will take away the “parasitic valg” and try to heal those she can, but it will be more about people learning to accept the good with the bad. Looking at ourselves and knowing that we are more than just good are evil. That to find a soul mate they see everything of us, the good the bad the ugly and accept it. That we need to accept it in ourselves to accept it in others. And that we all have the potential to be consumed by this darkness, but only if we let it. (Woah that got philosophical) 

“Yrene said quietly, “The darkness belongs to you. To shape as you will. To give it power or render it harmless.”  TOD

“This pit. The bottom of the descent. The hollow hell beneath the roots of a mountain. Here, where all was locked and buried. Here, where all had come to take root. The empty foundation, mined and hacked apart, crumbled away into nothing but this pit. Nothing.” - TOD

6. Confirmation that ACOTAR and TOG are linked closer than We know. Either Geography will match up after a volcanic eruption or a revel will ocurr eg we see it through the wryd gate. There are just tooooo many similarities. 

- I’m still so torn. Either Aelin pours the light into the Afterworld through the Wryd gate and spreads life and renewal into a dark cold world. aka prythian. And she sends some people/creatures there too.

7. The lock/eye of elena/three-faced goddess. is the “key” to forging the lock, the circles telling them who they need, whose power to combine and it needs the power of different people to bind together. raw power + 3/4 women.  

8. Maeve will travel as far from the Wyrd Gate as possible. She doesn’t want it used. So Maeve will probably be in Donarelle or the Black Dunes - Coz I still think Maeve traveled around the world a bit and has come cults working for her, so she can do that. (I wrote a poem a long time ago about Maeve=Lani=Vanth=Styrga if you want to see my thought process).

9. Wolves - All wolves are loyal to Aelin. Just like healers who shape shift into owls were loyal to Silba. Its a clue. Anyone who isn't described as wolflike I would be suspicious of. Spider-like = bad guy. aka Maeve.

10. Arthril = stuck next to maeve as an owl. hes in owl form. unable to change. fleed when Maeve got the golden ring from aelin in hof. suspicious. 

11. Erawan is contained again in black stone, because Aelin doesn't want him finding a way back. Contained in Erilea on a mountain or Contained in the Afterworld - yet to be seen.. though that stone monolith on Ramiel in ACOFAS is not giving me the best feeling. 

12. Maeve is Styrga and is contained not destroyed. I dont think maeve is gonna die - She is kept in place, magic depleted. the ancient forest watching over her. Oakwald forest - that alive forest with sentience, keeps her contained. she is near the Sacred mountain in ACOTAR because this is the Sacred mountain that Aelin either pours the cauldron onto or that she erupts from. (depending on if Prythian is in the afterworld or Erilea). 

13. Judging by Maps - Morath seems a likely location for a volcanic eruption. the whole bottom of Erilea has volcanic activity - black sands, volcanic rock in the dead islands, simmering water in Ellwye and a catastrophic event that made the land collapse - aka some geographical phenomenon. though in Tower of Dawn Chaol mentions hot springs near Anneille so I guess there is volcanic activity up there too, so it could equally be an eruption at the Omega or near the Omega. Or both. Y i k e s.   

13. Lorcan and Aelin will need to work together - darkness and light. and lorcan wont be happy about it. there has to be a light and dark link - but these two having such animosity towards eachother makes me think it might be them.

I have depression and i am going to ruin everyones day

Okay, so, a couple of weeks ago I wrote about how I was having some very bad suicidal thoughts and that I was scared about how much I just wanted to do it. In that post, i said that i’ll write about why i was feeling that way and such. so here it is. (note; this how i feel about the situation, it may not be entirely true)

i dont have a job. i havent had one in almost a year and a half at this point, and only 3 months at that. my parents have let me live with them since i graduated highschool, which i am grateful for. but, my dad holds onto his dads view on things: people in the house who make money are in charge, and the people who dont are subserviant to them. so, i end up being talk to in a way that seems to amount to “shut up, i make money, you dont”. which means that he ends up using his dads parenting technique of talking to your kids when they mess up: make them feel like shit, hate themselves, and doubt their worth as a human being. (his dad is worst, and he’s openingly said that he hated how his dad talked to him) unsurprisingly, this is not a good combination. combine this with the state of politics (which my dad has a much higher tolerance for than anyone else in my family), and that two people on my mom’s side have depression (one was my uncle, who DID kill himself, the other is her), and you can see why i have been feeling like absolute shit for the last month.

“well why not get a job” your probably saying. like i said, i had one. and that was the other time in my life that i had suicidal thoughts. not only that, i almost killed myself during that time! i was walking by the road, and this giant truck was moving, and i was just....not there, like if you talked to me, i’d just kinda give very automated responses, and i was just doing the things that popped into my head, and that was one of them (I will be eternally greatful to @kaiserofphyrexia for stopping me when he saw me trying to). thankfully, i lost that job shortly after that, and man let me tell you, it is one of the scariest things ever thinking about going back. the stress of constantly fearing making even the tiniest mistake just ate at me every minute of every day i was there. combine this with the managers were just awful human beings (they expected two people to do the same amount of work as 6 people and screwed us up several times just to make more money), and yeah, i just lost all interest in everything and anything. like, NOTHING helped me feel better. i hated everything cause my life just began to center around going back to work, which made me feel horrible, and i did it so often, and my schedule was completely random each and every week that i couldn’t plan to do anything. the managers didnt like it when you tried to request a day off, and you couldn’t say that your unavailable on a day, so unless i lied and said that it was for religious purposes, i didnt have any reliable day to relax and do the things that help me feel better. so when they told me that they were letting me go (one of them didnt like me to much), i was shocked, but also so releaved. it felt like a massive weight was lifted (cliched, i know) and i felt so much better.

and then the job search to find the next one like it began. and i was so scared to go back. i almost killed myself (or at least, severely injure myself), and from what i understand they were actually pretty tame compared to some of the managers out there, and the work itself didnt bug me too much, just the amount. so i just cant get my self to go back, which is why i asked my parents to help me find a job. my mom cant help to much, so it fell to my dad, and he said “you an adult, you dont NEED help. just go do it” oh yeah, silly me, i forgot that when you turn 18, all your emotions die and you become impervious to negative emotions. how could i forget!

not to mention that, with the amount of times i forget things and mess up. I cant tell you how many times i have to retypes words cause i misspell them (the grammar issues are just the tip of the iceberg). And i keep forgeting how to spell words! for several days this week, i forgot how to spell “choice” (i kept spelling chose). I cant even tell some coins apart (pennies and quarter and thats it), i i’m supposed to adult. i cant talk to my parents about this, cause whenever i’ve talked to my dad about these things, he makes me feel even worse than before. e always demands an explaination from me for why i do somethings, but i dont always have a reason. sometimes i just feel the need to do something or something to be done a certain way for no reason. and i usually realize that i was being an asshat (mentally chastising myself like how my dad does) and feel terrible, and will want to apologize for it. but my dad doesn’t like that and makes me furious beyond words and i just close off from everyone and dont apologize and feel even worse. i have a hard time letting go of things, so this shit just festers and i feel crumby for hours. (theres also the fact that he consistantly quotes “do or do not; there is no try” to me and my brother when asks us to do things, which is why i kinda blew up at a friend when they quoted it to me)

and i just dont feel competent in any way possible, and i need to do something that i could mess up on catastrophically on that could ruin my entire life. and these feelings would be exaggerated.

i began to have these thoughts and feelings when i started thinking on my whole situation, and just....idk. i need help to get job (im still terrified to do so at all), and my dad is one of the people in my life who can help me the most, but he wont cause im an adult, and i need to get him to just help me and respect me, which requires a job, which i need help getting, and he wont help me and respect cause im an adult and [repeat agnosium]. the scariest part to me was the fact there was only to options out, and it was the first time that suicide felt like a very valid option in my life. but i cant put my family through that. again. remember when i said that i had an uncle with depression? yeah, it got him.....almost 6 years ago? that was just one of the worst times of my life, and it just fuck up my family. i dont want to put them through that again. but when i thought about how my dad would feel....i felt a sadistic joy. and that scared me. it was a true and honest to god reason to do it, and it scared me so much.

but i’ve opted for the other way i saw; telling people. inspired by the youtuber jaiden when she talked about her own problems on the matter, ive chosen to share this with my friends (you guys) and my family (whom ill send this to later tonight. ive found that im at my happiest when surrounded by friends, and so ive been really itching lately to just hangout with them. i sorta hate it when i do, cause i usually end up mooching off of them (which is just the cherry on top of this shit cake), but the pros far out way the cons. 

so yeah. it may seem like my dad is a total monster, but he actually isn’t. hes actually one of the best people in my family and im honestly happy hes my dad and that i didnt get his dad instead. he just does things that have exaggerated feelings and that i focus on WAY too much when i get like this. but they are true problems in this whole situation, so i just......yeah. i might be like one of my cousins and just not be mentally equipped to handle a job. she has aspergers/autism, and by all accounts, i am very very autistic, so it is very likely, but i havent had a professional say so or not, so i could just be jumping to conclusions. i’m still gonna try and get at least one more job before i go with that answer to explain things, but it is still a genuine possibility.

i’d like to thank anyone who read this whole fucking monster post. i hated and loved writing it, and it need to be done. the first step to recovery from this is opening up to friends and family. i know at least one person who follows me who not only will read this entire post, but will understand and be concerned, and thats what i need, is my friends and family concerned and wanting to help me.

I want to get life insurance, but I am not sure whhich type of insurance I should get. I have done lots of research and majority of the research tells me to get term life insurance, but I am still confused to why. Here is a little about me: 30 years old, married, and have a baby. Non-smoker, and overall healthy, minus some arthritis. My first thought is to get whole life insurance because it definitely covers my family if I pass away when I am a lot older. However, I then hear that whole life is not a great investment - too expensive and lot of cost/fees involved, you don't really know how much of your premiums are going into your insurance and how much is going into the savings where the company invest the money. After hearing that, I think well term isn't so bad then. I get a lower premium for the same amount of life insurance. But then, I know term insurance only last a limited time. I see 30 years usually being the longest term life insurance. Well 30 years from now (considering nothing happens to me in the next 30 years), I will only be 60. That is still pretty young and then I wil have to renew my term insurance, but at 60, my premium will be a lot more than it would be right now. SO as you can see, I am at a lost and have no clue what to do. I would like some opinions, feedback, suggestions, etc, that would be much appreciated. (side note- when explaining which insurance is better, please explain in simple terms. I posted awhile back and I had some responses with very advanced insurance explanations that confused me! lol). ;) Oh, I do have life insurance with my company, but it's not much and I don't see mysefl staying with this company, so I prefer getting my own private life insurance.""

I know some of you heartless conservatives believe he should provide his own health coverage, but how? His drugs cost thousands, and he's in the ER constantly, thus making his health-care only affordable to extremely rich individuals.
