Okay but a thought of mine given new rise by the animated intro after having it niggle at the back of my mind for months now are Ludinus and Otohan as villains and who’s going to be standing as the final big bad at the end of the campaign, the way Vecna and Lucien did for c1 and c2.

Because the obvious answer is Ludinus. He’s the instigator, the leader of the cult, a villain in the making for 2 whole campaigns and over a thousand years (not to mention the one who's actually interacted with the party outside of fights). But Otohan is the one standing center stage of the villain line-up in the opening. She’s the one shown actively fighting the party. And, more importantly (as narrative matters more than barely glimpsed easter eggs), she's the one tied to the history and setting of Marquet, who has actual stakes in the people there and has fought for (and against) them before in the Apex War (while the place Ludinus called home was torn down centuries ago, leaving him caring for seemingly nothing but his ultimate goal since). She’s the one who’s actually Ruidusborn, and she’s tied to the Luxon as well with her strange magic. And despite all this, she’s mostly passed under the radar so far, given very little developments or motives or history or even personality. She’s little more than a cool aesthetic and a handful of threats.

And here’s my thought: maybe that’s on purpose. Ludinus, in his great arrogance, has placed himself as the greatest threat, and he’s being treated as such by the Hells. But is he? He steals immortality, appropriates the very concept of being Ruidusborn while holding a secret resentment for lacking the very powers it grants. He barely knows what he’s doing, and certainly not what he's about to unleash. And is there anything more satisfying than seeing a deeply arrogant and hubristic villain taken down by his own folly in underestimating those around him? So what if, as the final fight edges closer, the person actually holding the powers Ludinus pretends to steps up out of the shadows she placed herself in, keeping her motives to herself, barely remarked upon by Ludinus or the Hells or the audience, and personally cuts him down and takes her place as THE exalted Ruidusborn?

Green: well, we… or I guess Link, have been training to be a knight ever since we were ten. Since we had an early start on fighting, we got really good at it, and being left handed made the others struggle to fight against us.

Vio: we got a little cocky didn’t we?

Green: yeaaaah. We would fight enemies on our own and found that working with a team was annoying and only slowed us down. But that obviously bit us in the butt when we eventually split.

Blue: why are you guys telling them our whole life story?

Green: because they asked for it?

Blue: well… they technically already know about that whole thing. What do they not know?

Red: hm, well. Link actually grew up mostly in the castle. Since his— our— mom died, and our father was busy being a knight and all, Link was taken care of right beside Zelda, then once he was done with knighting, he would go back to taking care of us! which is why she’s our best friend!

Vio: I wonder what would’ve happened if the king didn’t let Link be with the maids taking care of Zelda… would father still be a knight?

Green: who knows. I suppose we can ask him about it when we see him again.

Oh my god… oh my God!!!!!

So, y’all know how I had my final exam last month and was POSITIVE I had failed it based on my raw score?

Well. Turns out I didn’t. Instead, I got exactly the score I needed to pass.

Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!

Oh my god. And I wasn’t entirely incorrect last month, either, though. My raw score was roughly the same as I had assumed (I accidentally subtracted 8 points but it would still have been a failing grade regardless), but apparently the test was scored out of 94 points, not 120. I have no idea WHY this is, and a part of me is still expecting to have someone jump out and say “AHA! Gotcha! This isn’t your score, turns out you did fail! Nyeh!” But as of now, I’m fairly certain I DID pass. So, if this is indeed the case…

saw a post talking about bethany and carver and how strange their fanon characterizations are, and tumblr kept messing up and i couldn’t reblog it, so i’m making my own post with what i put in the tags

bethany and carver both hate their lives, even before they come to kirkwall. the difference is that carver blames hawke for it, while bethany blames herself. and i think some of the reason the former gets so much more meta/sympathy/etc is because self-esteem issues are a muddy and uncomfortable thing to talk about, and it’s easier to talk about carver’s issue. he has a scapegoat and a built-in success story: as soon as he strikes out on his own, he’ll be all right

i think bethany is less popular for a lot of reasons. first of all, mage seems to be a disproportionately popular class, so some people would never even meet her. also, she doesn’t make a very strong first impression. a lot of people think she’s bland so they wouldn’t be interested in keeping her in the party and getting to know more about her. because at first glance, she is the mild-mannered polite perfect daughter character. that’s who she has to be, because it averts suspicion from the templars if she follows the rules, sure, but also because it’s how she makes it up to her family for being a mage. they’ve already done so much for her without even asking; how could she possibly inconvenience them any more? she’s a burden just by existing, so she has to do everything she can, be as unobtrusive as possible, to make up for that

- Re-encounter with Shrike: Idk it would be interesting to have this two characters interact during this era. I mean, Boone took his dead mentor´s name, Dick moved on and took on a different name that while it honors his mentors, it is his own thing; but now it isn´t like that because now both are using the mantle that belonged to their dead mentors that also were like fathers to them…
