Law of Assumption:

You are God, taking on the form of a human, you create your own reality. There are an infinite amount of realities you can experience meaning anything is possible. Others don't have "free will" in your reality, meaning you can select a different version of a person to experience whenever you want (example: your SP going from ghosting you to wanting to be in a relationship). To manifest, you must fulfill yourself in imagination (4D) because imagination is the only reality. By fulfilling yourself in imagination, you "feel it real" (knowing the desire to be yours) even if 3D shows otherwise. The 3D (physical) reality is only a mirror to the 4D and is not based on truth. Focus on having your desire in imagination ONLY, you can do this through affirming, scripting, visualizing, void state etc

Non Dualism:

You are God, awareness, consciousness, ONLY. You are not your human body, mind or identity (ego). Consciousness is the only reality. Nothing outside of consciousness is real. When you "manifest or reality shift," you are simply bringing experiences into consciousness. When you "shift" to Hogwarts, you are just bringing Hogwarts into consciousness. There is no seperation between 4D and 3D, both are the same, both are imaginary. Seeing a dog in imagination is the same as seeing a dog in the "physical." The second you experience something in imagination, it exists. As consciousness, there is nothing and no one seperate from you, all people, objects, worlds, universes are all forms of consciousness. You are the trees, the ocean, your parents, you are everything. Because you, consciousness, are everything, that means you never lack anything. You are always whole and complete. The goal is to stop identifying with ego and realize your true Self. Once you do that, you'll never desire again.

Hello! Sorry if you're tired of talking about your older writing instead of the current works which I also love, but I wanted to say I love your characterization(s) of Charon throughout your work and I was wondering if you had any tips on understanding his character's core/just how to write him true to form?

Listen. Listen. I can talk about Charon all day. I love him. I have other hades AUs I haven’t even talked about on here that I think about often to this day and if I ever get the itch, they will be written.

And that’s very kind of you to say. Idk if I write him true to any form, but I am extremely anal about keeping characters as in character as possible. Or at the very least, as believably in character as I can. When I plan on writing a character for a longer fic, whether AU or not, I usually try to find out everything about them and break them down to the bone before building it back up. What is in canon that I can use to build back a believable skeleton that is fleshed by what I can infer from the bones underneath?

So core character concepts for Charon that are in canon that I use:

Greedy - he likes him gold and him stuff. No matter what universe you are writing in, this is one of, if not, the biggest driving factor for any job or hobby he has. He wants money, he likes money, and he knows how to make money.

Protective - of his things, his lifestyle, and the people he cares about. He’ll fight Zagreus, who he likes, if he touches his shit. One of the few emotions you can get out of him in game is anger at possibly uncovering his ‘thing’ with Hermes. He keeps Persephone’s location a secret (thereby protecting her) because either he cares for her or because Nyx does and Charon cares about his mom.

Difficult to discern - in part because he’s a big spooky skull man whose face you can’t see and who doesn’t talk, but it also seems to be mostly on purpose. Charon can communicate, given what other characters know more about him, but he specifically chooses not to. What you come to know about him, you find out through context clues, what other people say, and your own sleuthing which leads to-

Extremely private and disinterested in other people’s opinions about him - to the point, he doesn’t care what the GODS THEMSELVES think. All of them think he’s vile and nasty (save for Hermes). The people he’s close with know the kind of person he is, and that’s what matters. On top of that, he has his secrets, and he keeps them hidden, one of these secrets being who he is as a person. 

Independent - Nyx states she doesn’t worry about him because he’s extremely good at doing his own thing and he likes it that way, unlike her other failsons. His intentions are all on his own, and he doesn’t answer to anyone; not her, not Hades, not the gods, only himself. If he is helping someone, it is for his own reasons (maybe because he cares, probably because of money, possibly because Hermes asked).

Clever - He’s literally the head of an underground smuggling ring in game. Like this man knows how to do shit, make money, and get away with it. He’s capable of thinking many steps ahead, and able to plan for the long con.

Methodical - He's got his routine. He rows his boat. He counts his coin. He's mans his shops. He does things his way. He has his methods and he sticks to them.

Patient - that one's a gimme. He’s older than most of the gods and paddles a ferry around at the pace of molasses and doesn’t speak and does nothing to really speed Zagreus’ plight along. Clearly he understands and practices patience. 

Good Fighter - he’ll beat your ass.

Asexual (of some kind) - Aphrodite directly states she can’t get to Charon as he only ‘lusts after coin’. He is immune to machinations of the goddess of sex and beauty. But not the god of merchants, clearly.

A Gentleman - by Hermes’ opinion. Hermes really likes Charon. Please say hi to him for Hermes because- 

Charon Really Likes Hermes - no matter what you think is going on between them, if it’s just friendship, or professional associates, or he’s in love, this is canon. He ignores everyone at the party for Hermes and vice versa. He’s very protective of the thing they have going on. He specifically lets Hermes into the Underworld far enough that Zeus can’t sense him anymore. Hermes hangs out in his shop. Hermes boon is THE MOST EXPENSIVE ONE AT HIS LAST SHOP NO MATTER WHAT. I cannot stress how much Charon gives Hermes a pass and how much Hermes seemingly knows about him despite the other core concepts listed above I just- I- AH

Anyways, from those bones, you can start to infer and build back a believable version of the character for whatever you are writing. Is he kind and thoughtful? Probably, given how the people who know him talk about him. Is he loyal? Given how he acts in regards to his inner circle, you could say yes. Does he have a temper? Probably not, given he doesn’t care much about other people’s opinions nor reacts very much to anything in canon save for very specific circumstances. Is he lonely? Probably, on some level considering he’s alone all the time and how protective he is of his buddy, etc, etc, etc. 

The bones justify what you are putting on top of them and with that, for whatever thing you're writing, you can build up a believable version of a character. Even in the most extreme of AUs, like in the 70’s and on a beach in America or maybe in a dnd type universe where a character might be a lich for…reasons, as long as the core concepts are in place and every decision or authorial deviation from canon the characters make stem from those, it will be fine.

quick disclaimer: I am not medical professional. Take all this with a grain of salt. Or like, 110% of your daily sodium intake.

So, electrical injury severity and pattern is influenced by a couple of different factors. The voltage of the current, weather it’s AC or DC, the surface area the current made contact with, and pathway the current took through the body all play a role in how your character would be injured.

One of the most dangerous things that electrical shocks cause are Arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythms). Some arrhythmias can cause cardiac arrest, but you’ll need a voltage higher than 50 volts if you want to go down that route. Cardiac arrest can have all sorts of complications, but that’s out of the scope of this post lol.

Electrical injuries also cause electrical burns. The burns will be visible at both contact points: where the current entered the body, and where it exited into the ground. There will be a trail of damage following the path the current took to the ground. Electricity doesn’t necessarily have to travel far to hurt, and cause a lot of damage. The burns can get infected, leading to sepsis, and significant electrical damage to muscles can cause rhabdomyolysis and compartment syndrome. Both rhabdo and compartment syndrome can cause an acute kidney injury (AKI), which could definitely affect someone long term.

DC current is normally a single shock (through I assume yours is a little more intentional than usually) that throws someone and can cause blunt trauma.

AC current causes tetany, or involuntary muscle contractions. These are very painful and can lead to muscle damage. AC injuries have a higher complication rate than compared to DC injuries.

On the neuro side, we’ve got peripheral neuropathy. This occurs in about 17% of electrical burn cases, so it’s fairly common. Symptoms include muscle weakness, paralysis, atrophy, and tingling, pain and numbness in the affected limb(s).

As long as your current passed through the limb you want to injure, nerve damage is absolutely in the cards for your poor fictional characters. Repeated current applied to a limb would also likely lead to muscle damage as well, particularly at the joints, on top the nervous system damage.

Hi pocket, i hope its alright to ask this but i dont really know who else to ask, but uh.. So i write this one fanfic, where the main character get kidnapped for about a year and forced to fight to save the world, but he is.. A part of this secret society so no one in his school know what he is doing when he disappear, what i want to ask is usually what would happen for people like him? I mean like someone who didn't attend school for a year with not much of an explanation? Will he get expelled? Or maybe still in school but in the same class with people who are previously his junior? Or is there a chance that he can be in the same class with his previous classmate after doing some kind of test?

Oh, a question I can answer with examples, weirdly enough. The specifics of what will happen to this student depends very much on where the school is and what the law is there. But, let's say this is a school in Texas, the following would happen:

After ten absences with no excuse, the student is considered truant. Even more contacts home (the school will usually have reached out already if there are absences) will happen.

If the family of the student says "hey, they've been kidnapped and here's the police report" the rest of the school will be informed. We actually had a case of a student who ran away from home last year, and all of the teachers who had them, plus the head teachers of the other grades, all admin, and the front office staff were informed so that if the student returned to school, we knew to send them to the nurse immediately and tell admin. I assume the police would have been told as well at this point so they could figure out where the hell the kid was staying and CPS would have been involved too- I'll never know, the kid went back home over that weekend.

If the family says "uh they've been kidnapped (and we haven't filled a police report)" the the school would immediately contact CPS and the police about it.

If the family cannot be contacted, answers no calls etc, then the school would do a welfare check, sending an employee or two out to the students home to see if they're there. If there is no answer, the school may reach out to do more welfare checks and may involve the police. We had a different student two years ago who didn't show up to school for three months, and there were four welfare checks from a school secretary and a police officer about it, with no answer at any time. This was honestly terrifying, because no one knew where the hell this kid and their family had gone.

Assuming the school knows about the kidnapping, or is unable to contact the family at all, it would be extremely difficult to move on to truancy court, which would need to happen to remove the student from the school roster. This is more recent, it used to be easier to do this, so check the truancy laws of where the school is set. Unless the family withdraws the student, usually the school must take them to truancy court or go through some other multi step process to force them to be removed from the roster. (Private schools are different and could probably do this easier, for public schools check local requirements in setting)

However, the student in your question has been gone a whole year- this means they could not have attended enough classes to get credit for them. In Texas, you have to be in the classes 90% of the days to get credit, though you do have a chance to make to hours after school or on Saturdays if needed. If you don't, though, you don't move on to the next year.

Also, at this point: if the family keeps the student on the school roster from the end of one school year to the start of another, the student must be present on the first day of school. If the student is not, they will be taken off the roster then, with no need to go through truancy court to do so. At this point, the student can be added back to the school if they show up later that week or the family works with the school with the excuse of "they're kidnapped rn and we want them to have a place at a school when they come back" but uh. Yeah that excuse is unlikely to work after a year. Once the student does return, they'd have to be added back to the school manually, which would mean paperwork and likely lots of meetings as admin tries to figure out where the hell they were for a year.

Let's say the kid is enrolled back in the school and not seized by CPS or placed somewhere else to focus on healing from the trauma of being kidnapped. In the case, they would be a year behind where they were. They might be able to do credit recovery for their missed classes, or take them over summer school to get credit, but in Texas it's unlikely they'd be moved back into their original grade. There aren't tests here that count for getting credit in individual courses in secondary school. I guess the student could test to get their GED if they wanted out of school all together. However, in other states it might be easier to take credit recovery, extra classes, or tests to get out of repeating those classes, so that depends on setting too.

@overtdemon knocks it out of the park every time, and writes what I think is the most awkward Shadow, which I adore. If the Glove Fits was such a joy to read.

@w0lp3rtinger has some fantastic stuff as well! What Is It You Want, which is a subset of Hanging On To Tomorrow, is one that really got me back into writing fic at all!

hey, i hope this isn't too invasive but I was wondering if you could talk a bit about the appointment you had to get your gender dysphoria diagnosis and get on testosterone? and also how you got to that point. like did you talk with your primary doctor first and they said you needed the diagnosis? and then after the diagnosis your doctor gave you a prescription? I'm hoping to start testosterone in a year or two and I have kaiser, so maybe the process I need to go through will be similar to yours. if this is too invasive feel free to just ignore, no worries! just thought I'd ask

hi! okay. it's been a year or so but from what I remember:

- once i turned 18, i talked to my doctor about wanting to start testosterone bc I'm trans and asked for a referral to a gender clinic

- she wrote me a referral that day, got a call the following day to schedule an appointment about 6 weeks out

- during appointment, spoke to therapist from gender clinic & got gender dysphoria diagnosis, scheduled a follow-up appointment

- at follow-up, got a rundown of changes to expect once on testosterone, ways it can be administered, etc

- from therapist, got a referral to endocrinologist, got a call to schedule appointment, also about 6 weeks out

- during endocrinology appointment, my endo tried to give me the schpeel about how i'll become infertile, a lot of changes are irreversible, etc, and i just said, yeah i know and i'm giving you informed consent because i've wanted this for years

- she wrote me my prescription for testosterone injections

- my prescription was for intramuscular injections, and i was fine going to my doctor's office for those, so i had to call the scheduling center to make my first shot appointment, which took me a while because i struggle with phone calls

- after a few weeks, scheduled the appointment for literally the following day, went in, got my shot done, super easy

it's worth noting that a) if you're administering testosterone at home, you can often pick up your prescription from the pharmacy the day it's prescribed to you and b) you can request a prescription for testosterone gel, patches, and either subcutaneous or intramuscular injections thru kaiser.

additionally, if you want to do shots at home, my clinic has the option to schedule essentially a "how-to" appointment with an RN where they teach you how to do your own injections.

your endocrinologist will probably not tell you what kind of injection they're prescribing you unless you specifically request a certain kind, but afaik there's really no difference aside from the length of the needle (in my experience subcutaneous is 5/8 inch, and intramuscular is 1 inch... not sure about the gauge). you can pick up your needles + syringes + T or your tgel / patches from the pharmacy like you would for any other prescription :)

Writing (Tips & My Journey)

I enjoy being a writer. It allows me to dig deep into my creativity somehow. I enjoy drawing, but sometimes the imagination that comes with writing helps inspire me to draw as well. They kind of intertwine in a way, even if you can’t see it much.

Honestly, I feel a lot of people are good readers and writers—they just don’t want to actively take the steps to become that. In the mean time, someone could just be doing it for fun, and that’s completely okay. Whatever gets your creative brain flowing.

If you’re going to do it professionally, however, I would recommend on improving and not just writing the same words on every single sentence. I would recommend:

expanding your vocabulary (no matter the language you write in)

develop your characters more — No one wants a bland protagonist or character that leads them through a story, and no one truly feels for side characters with zero personality or only only one trait that makes them USEFUL… (such as a character only being happy and looking on the bright side. I could recommend giving them a trait of toxic positivity and work on why they’re like this and develop that in your story, along with giving them background.)

Look at your past writing and see what you like and don’t like. Change what you don’t like and keep what you do (while also actively asking for critique, of course).

Maybe have someone you trust enough with your story to read your writing—it could help you develop as a writer to hear others opinions!

Don’t avoid criticism, embrace it. Don’t take critique as an insult but rather as a way to move forward and change your writing to be even better.

That’s all I’ve got for now, but I would also recommend plotting and actively taking notes on how you want your story to go. I take them in a little diary I have in real life instead of on my computer so that I’m not messing with the project that I have written on my PC or laptop. (or any form of device).

When you first begin writting, just write down whatever and then add those elements in a more organized way and choose and toss the things that either won’t work or are too much for the story. You can also organize it better since it’ll only be the rough draft. Then you can begin your chapter if you so wish!

Restart Tumblr and you should see the changes implemented instantly

If you are on desktop:

You are going to click the cog shaped button that says settings

You will then click on the account button that should have appeared under the settings button

Scroll down till you see 'content you see' which should be under the birthday section you should see 'filtered tags and 'filtered post content'

Click on the little pencil icon then add whatever it is you no longer want to see (you can remove these at any time so don't feel concerned about putting something in that you'll want to view again later)

Refresh the page and you should instantly see the changes take effect

Filtered tags as the name implies filters out any content that has been appropriately tagged with what you are trying to not see.

Filtered post content however filters out any content that simply has the mention of the word you chose to no longer see.

your best bet is probably to click the “not interested” button under “share” on the tiktok! if you specifically want more pro-dream content, it helps to search for & like dream related videos!! you can also block the accounts that are posting dream neg if you want

i typically find the stuff i post by putting site:tripod.com or site:angelfire.com at the end of my searches for example “skinny puppy site:angelfire.com” i find doing this helps me find what i’m looking for much easier & more effective

if a link doesn’t work i try punching the url into the wayback machine & search through the page’s links for more like it

unfortunately wayback doesnt archive everything sometimes u just have to put a url in and hope for the best👍👍

Gmail Sorting Tips

I've seen people say that their ao3 notification emails get quite cluttered, so I just wanted to share what I use! :))

I have Gmail auto-tag emails so my inbox looks like:

Here's step-by-step instructions on how have that done automatically

1. First of all, make some Labels - You can do this with whatever, I use fandoms

2. I like to change the color & hide from the list so it doesn't get too messy

For the filter:

3. You need a quote for Gmail to search for, you can just copy and paste from an existing email

4. Go to See-All-Settings

5. Select Filters & Blocked Addresses

6. Click on Create a New Filter

7. Paste the information and click on Create Filter

8. Make the filter add the label (tag) to emails, and Create Filter

9. Gmail will now automatically add labels to tag your emails :))
