who had the better development and who is the best written among origin trio so far including a part of the endgame?
I don't think their arcs are comparable like that:
Deku has a flat character arc as he is the moral paragon of the series
Bakugou has a redemption arc
Shoto has a healing / recovery arc
All 3 have strong and weak points.
I think for Izuku, his arc in Act 1 was the strongest as we discovered who he is as a person, his ideals, his strengths. He started to fade into a POV character post-Overhaul arc, and generally the narrative stopped challenging him enough. I think his endgame was a bit sacrificed to give others highlight (the way he was used to escalate Toga, react to everyone). I disliked very much the role of the Vestiges, who didn't add much and took a lot away from having Izuku in center as the character driving the resolution. Let's see what happens in Phase 3 of this fight.
Bakugou has a classic redemption arc, which is certainly the flashiest and most recognizable for fans as it is the type of arc where a character changes the most. Hori put a lot of effort into it, and I think it was spectacularly written until Ch 322. I personally dislike several things about his endgame so far (the death fake-out, the tremendous effort to save him and revive him being swept under the rug and trivialized, the whole weird off-balance of his "team"/"solo" fight aspect of him going against AFO). I think his scenes in Ch 360 and 362 were really well done, as well as the All Might rescue was great. But also he feels weirdly "pampered" by the narrative compared to nearly everyone else. It feels like Hori went into extremes both on his death and revival. Like Bakugou got everything he ever wanted, and arguably a bigger highlight than Deku himself in the eyes of the public, while all the other main characters, including the MC are being denied their wins, which makes me feel uneasy where this will go.
Shouto has a healing / recovery arc, which is written with quite a lot of nuance. I like how it's non-linear, how much Shouto struggles with his relationships with his family. He also has hands down the best quirk progression in the story, where every improvement is tied to some aspect of his healing or step he takes towards his family. It is really well done. Just like Izuku, Shouto's arc was very strong in Act 1, and he lost a lot of prominence in Act 2, which became dominated by Endeavor's redemption arc. though his main milestones were still present. Also, Toya's backstory being backloaded to the end of Act 2 and into Act 3, also meant that in the Todoroki plot there was a struggle to fit in all three of the POVs, at a time where Horikoshi was already growing impatient and was cutting a lot of corners. I think in the Dark Deku arc especially, Shouto would have needed a proper focused chapter for the fall-out of the Dabi reveal. His endgame power-up (Phosphor) and his fight against Touya were narratively pretty good. I think Hori delivered on the "family hero" part, but I think he still owes Shouto a proper resolution both with Touya and with Endeavor and the promise of the "become who you want to be" - where he actually gets to make a choice of his own, because Enji steps up as a father finally and it's not on Shouto anymore to pick up the pieces.

bkdk au where katsuki is a burnt out superstar spiraling out of control and izuku his v good at managing disaster & when ppl are the worst, he's at his BEST so he's tasked to help katsuki regain his crown except an hour within meeting each other katsuki already fired him THREE TIMES.
izuku is soft spoken, detail orientated, and weirdly clumsy but sincere. he's the opposite of a corporate shill trying to squeeze whatever money is left out of katsuki's fame and fortune. he actually cares and wants the best for katsuki and KATSUKI CANT EVEN BULLY HIM TO QUIT. katsuki grew up in the limelight. both his parents are famous designers so he used to be a child model, then a child star, and then A SUPERSTAR and his face was plastered everywhere. he been in the spotlight all his life and it’s searing.
katsuki's vice isn't drinking or smoking etc bc he's not fucking stupid enough to touch that shit but it's his volatile temper and his inability to work under and with ppl. he's his worst critic bc he holds himself to ridiculous high standards and expect everyone to be the same. he would set filming back for hours, DAYS even, just for retakes but he's unhappy with his performance or his partner. he'll fight with the director and coworkers bc their vision doesnt align so ppl start accusing him of making it a toxic work environment, his violent tantrums, and how he's impossible to WORK with and how he mistreats his coworkers and the other staff members. someone even leaked to the gossip rags that katsuki threw an equipment at a staff once in anger.
which led to a floodgate of BAKUGOU KATSUKI'S STORIES how he is so difficult to work with, how toxic he is, and how nobody want to work with him even after the story about him throwing stuff at a staff was proven false but damaged to his reputation was done. he was ostracized.
katsuki just brushed it off that he doesnt care even though acting is all he ever wanted and even though many the stories were lies, HE WAS AN ASSHOLE and difficult and hold ppl to ridiculous high standards and loses his temper so easily so yea he fell in to a rut until izuku who is v v v good at being his best when ppl are at the worst which means he's great at cleaning up messes and somehow amidst the thunderous and violent storm of that katsuki rages, izuku always find his peace and can juggle katsuki's anger and his anal perfectionism with ease.
katsuki has anger issues and even though he's going to therapy for it, he has a hard time controlling his outburst and that's scary for most ppl bc they think he's capable of much violence from what they heard even though there's never been a proven story that he ever HIT anyone. izuku is mild-manner and v sweet. he's polite to everyone he interacts with and is very kind to the employees but he's also reckless to the point of stupid sometimes that he has no qualm snapping back at katsuki bc he knows in his heart that katsuki's bark is worse than his bite.
izuku has watched katsuki's grow up on screen & news. he seen all his movies & dramas. bought all his magazine covers. he knows a star when he sees one. katsuki was made for the screen, to be up the among the stars, shinning brighter than everyone but he got to fix himself first. even though katsuki has all the talent and skill but it doesnt mean he can get away with treating ppl like shit and his loner only-i-can-do-it is not helping him gaining any friends and allies in the industry. being talented is no excuse for being a piece of shit to others.
izuku admires katsuki deeply and sees so much potential in him but katsuki has to turn his attitude around first and out of katsuki's own volition. izuku can encourage him but he cant force him to change for the better. this is something katsuki has to realize on his own. izuku didn't single-handedly make katsuki a better person, he's the initial kickstart that made it possible but all the effort is on katsuki he wants to do better, to be better. to fixed all his broken relationships and repair his mistakes bc he wants to prove everyone wrong. but more importantly he wants to go be good to prove it to himself that he's worthy to stand at the top and be the person who is worthy of izuku's love and admiration all the while the world hyper scrutinizing his every move and ready to tear him him apart if he make one slip up.
like katsuki doesnt being an ASSHOLE lol he's still brisk and blunt with ppl but when he feels like he's going to lose it, he takes a step back, breathes and immediately look for izuku. izuku will smile encouragingly at him and suddenly all the loud noises in his head quiet down.
izuku becomes his emotional crutch. he always there on every set of every commercials shoots, TV, and films. it becomes known that you cant hire katsuki w/o izuku there watching over him. they call izuku his tamer/wrangler as thought katsuki is a wild animal and izuku hates it. bc he knows katsuki is trying his best & he has his mood and temper but he making a lot of effort to not fall back into the horrible person he was once so yea, izuku isn't TAMING katsuki one bit but ppl like that narrative better then the thought of katsuki being a change person.
it's not like katsuki less of an asshole tho. he still fight w ppl and say asshole things like firing izuku five times this month bc they couldnt agree on his schedule and bc izuku refused to give katsuki a key to his apartment even though izuku has his phone AND key to his house. izuku can freely go in/out of katsuki's house and izuku has access his phone bc they have nothing to hide. izuku go wherever katsuki go and when they answer someone request it's always "we do this" or "we'll think about it" bc they're one unit and are married w/o marriage part.
it's kinda codependent how much their life are intertwined with each other that katsuki cant work w/o izuku there and izuku spend literally every part of his day with katsuki no day off; no vacation; no life outside of katsuki. their name and life are so bound, it's... unhealthy. even when katsuki is one his way to the pinnacle of his career again and he's the new comeback king, izuku feels uneasy bc he feels like he's holding katsuki back bc bc ppl are like YOU CHANGED HIM, YOU MADE HIM BETTER, YOU DID THIS, oh what would bakugou be w/o you there to help, completely dismissing katsuki's efforts bc izuku can schedule all the appts he want w katsuki's therapist and try to get him there but it's katsuki who has to actually SHOW UP and actually work with the therapist to improve his temper and behavior and try to be the better person.
he also realizes that katsuki relies on him too much that as his emotional crutch and that izuku felt good to be needed like that, that izuku has issues to work on that his sense of self worth is tied up in how much he can do for katsuki and how much katsuki needs him. this is why izuku likes this kind of manager job bc in the midst of all this chaos, izuku can find his calm and feels a sense of value to himself when he can solve and fix things for others. that he's only good when he can do something FOR THEM not bc he himself is worthy.
so when during at the height of katsuki's career, izuku packed up and completely disapepar one day, while leaving katsuki with a new manager, new and very good jobs opportunities with the best director and scripts, and planed out literally a year of schedule ahead for katsuki. izuku go on his long waited vacation that he rightfully deserved after working for katsuki W NO DAY OFF for literally almost 3yrs. he traveled the world, sight sees, learn about new cultures and himself and rediscover the person he can and is without the attachment of Katsuki. while katsuki ages bc izuku is gone and it was fucking rough for him that first month w/o katsuki and it's like he fell back to dark time where his emotions cant be contain and he lashes out but with the help of his friends and family, katsuki slowly gets a grip of himself. w pure spite like he's trying to prove something to the world that he CAN LIVE W/O IZUKU, he can be this better version of himself w/o izuku handholding him and HE CAN!!! his career shoots off and he's improving and doing so much better and ppl stop bringing izuku up around him.
katsuki is thriving and living his life w/o izuku there. his career is doing amazing and his reputation is nearly salvagable now but even when he's doing perfectly w/o izuku and prove to everyone and himself that DOESN'T NEED IZUKU, he realizes that he WANTS IZUKU rather. he doesn't need izuku to fix him, to make him better, but he want izuku as a part of his life bc he loves izuku and wants him there in every space that he occupied. he wants izuku deeply and profoundly in a way that all the fame, trophies, awards, and money can't ever give him.
so instead of searching for izuku and force him to come back to him, he make izuku COME TO HIM out of his own free will by making a movie w izuku's favorite director and picking izuku's favorite script and making a fucking film dedicated TO IZUKU that only izuku can see. he finds a way to get the movie premier ticket to izuku's hand and izuku stares at the invitation and doesnt know if he should or how to answer it. like all these past months w/o him there, he saw katsuki's career took off and how he able to stand on his own two feet w/o izuku. he doesnt need izuku anymore. maybe he never needed izuku in the first place and it's heartbreaking bc it like katsuki is moving on w/o him but here is this invitation and it's calling him to come back. he doesnt know if he should but izuku always put his job first, others first.
so maybe it's time to be a little selfish and get what he wants because through traveling the world, izuku finds there's so much to see and experience but everytime he turn around and want to point out something amazing, he calls out katsuki name and realizes he's not there. izuku is content with himself but he NOT HAPPY bc katsuki isn't there with him bc being with katsuki makes him stupidly and ridiculously happy even though when it wasnt healthy that time, he misses katsuki so deeply it hurts. he wants katsuki to be there with him to exp life. so even when he knows katsuki is better off w/o him, izuku decides to be selfish once in his life and takes that invitation and go see katsuki in his new movie except when he arrives at the theater; there's nobody else but him. it's like this place is rented out just for him.
he watches the movie; it a short film that he and katsuki had seen a hundred times bc it's by their favorite actor turned director toshinori yagi. katsuki is monologuing izuku's favorite scene from the movie and it always make him teary and katuski made fun of him for it lol. but now katsuki is acting out his favorite scene and izuku IS CRYING AGAIN but nobody is there to tease him. he's WEEPING EVEN HARDER bc katsuki on screen is so, so fucking good delivering the lines like a fucking punch in the heart and-and he cant believe he stupidly walk AWAY.
"i-i miss you so much, kacchan," izuku mumbles to the screen and suddenly a familiar voice enters his ear.
"say that to my fucking face, stupid," katsuki says, appearing out of the darkness and nearly scaring izuku to shit but omfg izuku being honest with himself FOR ONCE.
katsuki is like be selfish with me, tell me what you want and izuku weeps and chokes up as he confess i want you. KATSUKI breathes a sigh of relieve bc fuck he wants this more badly than he wants anything else in the world and now they're FINALLY agreeing on something.
"i want you to work for me," katsuki says because he's an asshole and just as izuku about to shoot him a glare bc he's NOT WORKING for katsuki. they're not going down that road again. "as my boyfriend, dumbass," he scolds him bc he's also a dumbass who is bad w/ words lmao
izuku hiccups and smiles through tears. "what would you pay me with then?"
"my body," he grumbles and izuku goes red bc they're dumb and in love and now izuku can be katsuki's bf w/o worrying about unhealthy work dynamic that comes with their deep attachment to each other.
it started with izuku being katsuki's emotional crutch and his sense of self worth being tied to how much katsuki's need him, and them realizing it's FUCKING unhealthy so they separate, grow independent and realizing they're ok w/o each other but are more HAPPY TOGETHER.

Aww they're getting along again. They've gotten over their scare. Dabi trusts Shig's hurt enough to be more careful around him.
Dabi bullying Shigaraki into taking care of himself will always be funny. "No, you are going to take care of yourself you dumbass, now eat." Lol
Aww cat carsickness.
Lol imagine if Shig asked about what foods are safe for cats to eat. He'd have a heart attack because Onigiri has eaten a shit ton of all of it. Actually the vet would probably panic too. While Dabi just tilts his head and meows innocently.
...so does Dabi just not look around when he's human. Does he really not notice that some things are actually red? Or is he also colorblind as a human?
He's just dumb isn't he? Yeah, that tracks.
Ick AFO always gives the ick. Is there a possibility that he knows Dabi's not just a cat? There's no way he doesn't know about magic and the connection to Quirks. But can he tell with Dabi? I hope not.
Heh, Dabi getting angry on Bakugou's behalf and not knowing how he feels about Shoto. I love how there are differences between how he feels about Shoto between fics. It's refreshing. He's got some mixed feelings about it, and that feels realistic.
Dabi doing the zoomies over Stain? He's being a fanboy and it's adorable. He really believes that he and Shig can get along. Oh I'm scared for the interaction.
Oh, it wasn't awful. That's a nice change of pace. Dabi still fanboying and Duster just being slightly annoyed and also confused. He's just accepted that his cat is a weirdo demon. Stain likes Onigiri. That's weirdly adorable. In a good way.
The deal is an interesting way to go about it. Especially with the clashing ideals. They made it competitive.
Shig saved him too?! He doesn't want to lose his one (potential, halfway, kinda) ally. Cue Dabi being a fanboy again lol. That's actually really cute. Duster just really doesn't want those medicine bars does he?
"pretentious asshole" lol. Although Stain does have a point. And that's eventually going to carry into the League. He will build a group of people that follow him and not AFO. Although whether Dabi is a part of that League remains to be seen. (I will not beg for answers. I will not beg for answers. I WILL NOT BEG FOR ANSWERS!)
OH! How could I forget? Dabi demanding a drink and Kurogiri just being like ???? Shig just once again, accepting that Onigiri is a weirdo. (But it's his weirdo cat, so you better leave him alone)
Dabi getting comfortable enough to sleep in the bed. He's not quite intruding anymore, even though Shig thinks he's a cat. It's gonna become a habit. We all know it.
Anyways, I'ma go reread it again, and then notice all the little details. Or I'll do that tomorrow and actually get some sleep tonight. That's probably a good idea.
Tumblr media
Dabi and Shigaraki are healing!! They are doing their best to take care of each other! Shigaraki saw the possibility of destroying something innocent, that trusted him, and that cared for him because of his immaturity and anger and realized that brashness could destroy so many other parts of his life too and now he's doing his best to not let those negative qualities lead him. He's already a very different person now than he was in canon before he met Stain, and I wanted to reflect that in their meeting!
Thanks so much for commenting!

Wait, Bakugou meer E class during the surgery at the sport festival? What happened?? I am curious!
Bakugou, try to see Izuku only to meet by the deaths glared of class E
I can see Terasaka ready to push the light out of Bakugou only to be held back by his friends.
Karma get closer to Bakugou and whispered something to Bakugou.
What he say ?
" Izuku is our brother now. We will do anything to protect him. We know who you are, Bakugou, and what you and your old school did to Izuku. Some of us are technological geniuses, and they were able to find the old videos of you using your quirk on Izuku. We can also enter UA systems and show them to all the public here and the ones watching from home. Tell me, will you still be able to achieve your dream to become hero ? I don't think so, you would become famous for sure as what this society became that let people become bully and hurts who don't reach their standards. So, turn around now of we will release those videos "
Bakugou is, predictably, not content with losing and is fully wanting to take it out on Deku now they can’t get away from him or hide behind their stupid extras like they have been since they won their fight.
What he didn’t expect was for Deku to be asleep after surgery and a room full of extras glaring at him like they had already sized him up and found him lacking.
His palms popped and crackled.
How dare they look down on him.
“The fuck are you doing here?” One of them growled. Massive. Angry. Torn sleeves and tangled hair as he glared down at him.
Another one, smaller with gleaming silver hair tied back with an ugly bandana and weirdly vacant eyes rested his hand on the first’s shoulder. A reminder.
“Ritsu can’t cut the cameras. Their firewall is too good.” A reminder and a threat of what would happen if the mysterious “Ritsu” could cut the cameras.
A redhead smirked at him, cold eyes looking back at him as he sauntered up with hands in his pockets. “That’s alright, Itona,” He purred cruelty in every word. “We don’t need to stoop to his level to get even.”
All of the others tensed at the reminder, turning almost unconsciously to Deku sleeping on the hospital bed.
To their arms wrapped in fresh bandages.
So they knew then.
When he turned back the redhead’s smile had disappeared leaving only cold violence in its wake. “We have the videos, you know.”
The room was suddenly very quiet.
“We pulled them after Izuku told us about why they got kicked out of their last school. They made us promise not to show them to anyone at the time, but did agree that we were allowed to if you decided to fall into old habits.”
Perched on the side of Deku’s bed, close enough to reach out and touch him for all Katsuki hadn’t noticed him before, a boy with blue pigtails laughed.
“What were you here to do again, Kacchan?” He asked innocently, head tipped to the side with a sweet smile.
Katsuki didn’t have an answer.

Mmmmh au where Bakugou is kidnapped at, like, twelve, and turned into a noumu. He's a prototype of the more intelligent Noumu, and he's not as clever as his canon self but he's still intelligent! Sort of stuck as a kid, emotionally and mentally speaking.... More animalistic too! I don't know about the extra quirks he would have but hm... He would obviously be very strong and hard to kill! And hm... He'd look like a Noumu but still mostly human looking... But still unsettling because he looks really creepy like all Noumu!
He ends up escaping the lab and finds one Todoroki Touya, who's been living in the streets for roughly a year, and pretty much adopts him.
(honestly, it's because of the hair. Not-yet-Dabi's hair is stark white and spiky, and it reminds Noumu Katsuki (who's kinda feral tbh) of his mom's pale spiky hair! And his mom meant safety because she would destroy anyone who tried to hurt him! So this guy is probably safe too? The reasoning is absolutely flawed but but Bakugou's instincts are right for two reasons : at this point in time, Touya's flames are not strong enough for him to hurt Noumu Katsuki without hurting himself, and also he's lonely)
Touya himself is fucking mystified. What the fuck is this and what is happening. This... Is probably a kid. But it? He? Let's go with them. Doesn't talks. And they're really creepy? And they follow him everywhere? But they don't seem agressive? Theory number one as to why they look like that is that it's a really weird mutation quirk, but most mutation quirks are unique so... Not that weird probably. And maybe the reason they can't talk is related to the mutation quirk because they sort of... Don't seem to have a mouth? Or maybe they're just mute. Second theory is there's something a lot more sinister at play, and Touya woke up in a hospital and he has heard horror stories about mad scientists and their twisted experiments and the... Kid(?)'s reaction to anything medical doesn't do anything to disprove that theory. Damnit.
Touya doesn't try to make Bakugou (who he calls Spitfire, and Bakugou likes that because his parents used to call him that) go away, because this weird probably-a-person is pretty protective of him and pretty strong which is useful when you're homeless, and also they're weirdly good company and he was a bit lonely so... And he know he wasn't the best big brother but the big sibling instincts had to go somewhere and apparently they decided that this feral cat was a good target.
They manage to learn to communicate better through the years, even if it can be hard because Bakugou's brain works weird now and sometimes it's hard to think, but they manage!
And honestly I have no idea beyond that of how it would affect canon but I thought it was a fun idea :)

Yoooo I wanted to make a series where I say my headcanons about the music and clothing aesthetics of MHA characters! Warning, my picks can be hella weird XD
Firstly, 1-A!:
Midoriya - Imma be honest- I don’t like Midoriya- but he would have the cutest outfits. I always weirdly imagine him listening to anime OPs in like middle school boy sports clothes but if they were fashionable. Think whatever the fuck the v-tuber Subaru has going on. Whatever it is, it’s very Nostalga/Animecore and I’m into it
Uraraka - Shes some sort of warm modern version of Heisei Retro frrrrr. If u don’t know what that is, imagine if Y2K was Japanese and it’s a little like that but not really. This girl chills in her pink room wearing scrunchies and soft thick socks playing Pokémon or animal crossing because it makes her happy and I love her for that lol
Bakugou - It’s pretty obvious, but for him I’d have to say hip-hop and streetwear fashion. This dude totally just wears the baggiest fuckin shit and it WORKS cause he just struts around the city listening to rock music in his black and orange hoodie and everyone gets out of his way XD
Mina - Will always and forever be a Decora Kei and Harajuku girl!! Bright clothes and millions of accessories are totally her thing and she’ll never get tired of listening to bubblegum pop! She definitely also has some Gyaru to her, but not as much as the Decora Kei
Kirishima - This bro is just happy and summery and sportsy and whatever the fuck Haikyuu has going on. I just love the idea of him eating otter pops and listening to Kenshi Yonezu and being a vacation dad (I think vacation dadcore is literally what I’m looking for lol)
Kaminari - This man is hyperpop as FUCK. He WILL blast Mos Thoser at 3am and it’s fine because his music is bomb af. Neon scene clothes whenever he can manage, and if he can’t then pure BLACK because he thinks it makes him look cool (It does actually, good job denki :3)
Tsuyu - She’s always so chill, to me she screams City Pop and Lo-Fi listener!! She’s def got that calm type of vaporwave to her. Not the kind of bright vaporwave or unnerving old internet vaporwave, more like the soft colors and simple outfits and sunsets kind of vaporwave
Jirou - Im sorry y’all she is and will forever be an e-girl. Shes just a Yami-Kawaii e-girl who likes metal and 2010s pop rock. I can’t get this idea of her with the Project Sekai Dark Decora outfit out of my head so that’s who she is to me now. She probably has the most obvious aesthetic in the show but idc I’m changing it lol
Momo - Totally a dark academia girlie, she just wants to wear a brown sweater with a white collar-neck underneath and be in a small but warmly lit room full of classic literature and feather-quills with piano music in the background to listen to while she studies and no one can prove me wrong
If your wonder where anyone else is, they aren’t here because I’m not interested in them enough to give them an aesthetic or I have no ideas for them.
If y’all liked this somehow I might make more?? So ye byeeee

I finally watched MHA Heroes Rising and now that movie is doing things to my BRAIN i need to rant.
Like, I feel like it's quite uncommon for a movie to tell us so much about characters like that. And I saw somewhere that it was Hori's original ending for the series and honestly that makes SOOOO much sense. But it also, weirdly enough, would place Bakugou as the protagonist of the series because he would be the one proving himself throughout. And the theme of the series would be a lot different from what it is now right now - it would be about giving second chances and room to grow. To see the emotionally constipated bully transform into the next symbol of peace and finally defeat AFO? It's a good narrative but it's questionable given that Midoriya is the main character... this ending would place him as a flat character who's only role is being self-sacrificial and unrealistically pure. Which... from what we've seen recently... that's a big misinterpretation of his character.
(however, if the series had been centered around Bakugou from the start, i wouldn't disagree that this story would be enjoyable. I think there's just more to this world than that.)
Anyways, disregarding Hori's supposed plans for the movie, what does it mean in canon? Is it canon? I have no fucking idea. Honestly, it feels a little bit of a stretch that OFA could have just been "momentarily transferred" into Bakugou for that one fight... and the whole idea that the Hero Commission just left students as the SOLE PROTECTORS of AN ENTIRE ISLAND????? Shady as hell. Although I can't say it's out of character for the Hero Commission as a whole... still. The whole premise is a little weird, and honestly, two heroes makes more sense in the canon world of MHA.
But if we were to consider the movie as canon, I honestly feel like the handover of OFA never happened. Especially given that Bakugou claims to have remembered none of the incident. It probably was just a moment of adrenaline for them both that made Izuku THINK he had passed down the power. To get them through the fight and shit, etc, etc. Having OFA work like that would just... completely change how it could be used in canon. Like, there are SO many possibilities that can't be ignored. But obviously, they are, cause it's a movie spinoff... like honestly, the movie would've worked much better as like a non-canon AU that ends with Bakugou getting OFA. Sticking it randomly into canon just feels... icky.
On the other hand, it was super fucking cool to watch bkdk use OFA side by side and uhh Shigaraki??? With his three-finger gloves and red coat???

was looking over the teamup missions and the school briefs cause im starved for Monoma content and i discovered the Kirishima/Monoma tag on here it's #kirimono and while looking through it i have discovered that Kirimono is apparently like KiriBaku in a way and im honestly so down. There were several post that had me by the neck for them and not to forget to mention i was listening to JORDY - Is It Love? and Blonde at the time - Maisie Peters
They are so like break up every 5 minutes for eachother i don't know how to describe it, aggressive make out because they grind eachothers gears in the worse way yet can't keep their hands off eachother long enough to want to be anywhere else.
Someone said "Canonically Kirishima can’t stand Monoma but when we think about it Monoma is basically class b’s Bakugou, who if you remember Kiri actually had to warm up to at first then chose to be his friend. The only thing stopping them from getting along is literally just Monoma’s complex about class a and if they got to know each other I think they’d act get along in that petty boyfriends sorta way."
post by @ mhathotfic
the best part of it was
"They’d pick on each other and flirt via insults but they know the other doesn’t actually mean it in hurtful way."
and
"In conclusion they’d be the couple who can’t stand each other, but they’re disgustingly in love so they make it work."
it's like a complex semi toxic relationship that only they understand whats going on. Like Kirishima is such a sweet heart but when it comes to Monoma he's the devil from the bible hope you get that snapcube joke
They love to antagonize eachother but it's mostly Monoma but i can see them doing this for the longest until Monoma is actually the first to catch feelings for him, he's all i want something from this, like i don't wanna be mean and hateful to this meat head the entire time i actually genuinely have feelings for this beefcake and i wonder what a softer version of us looks and feels like so the antagonizing takes a weird turn and he's not feeling it like he used to one day
THIS IS SO ENEMIES TO LOVERS
Kirishima's confused Monoma is weirdly upset and it's like actually people in a relationship they don't understand. Monoma doesn't have it in him to actually bring up whats wrong with him cause he's kinda like Bakugo in the way that he can't admit his feelings at least to someone in class A of all people so he's just gonna ignore him or try and get him to figure it out himself
Kirishima is not smart enough for this but he uses his one braincell to hunt that petty boy down and demand whats wrong? Did he go too far? did he actually hurt Monoma? What?
Monoma would go on to explain to him whats going on and that he's actually got feelings for him and call him an idiot in a sophisticated manner.
This ship is just news to me man like i don't know whats going on i just got here
At this rate, I will have to rewatch bnha just to fully get every rare pair yall send me
So I didn't remember much of their interactions (I've watched season 1 and 2 like 4 years ago okay!! my memory is not that good), but I watched this short compilation and OKAY I GET THE VISION NOW so let's get into the post itself
I feel like I need to just talk about the songs they mentioned cause i gave it a listen and OMGJKDFKJDF it's so them coded /baby if you thought I was trouble then you're gonna hate what's coming next/ like cmon??
They are that couple that everybody talks about during lunch, they make their fights everybody's business by screaming at each other, but also no one can dare to say anything about them cause they will fight YOU
don't know if anyone here is into tgcf but this ship gives me fengqing in another font
"It's like a complex semi-toxic relationship that only they understand what's going on." you defined it perfectly here, anon!! [and your joke had me giggling for 5 minutes]
I feel like they would have the slowest slow burn ever when it comes to feelings, like sexual tension would be there as in every enemies to lovers, but to any of them to realize and ADMIT their feelings???? yeah… it's giving all years of high school until they confess on the last day during prom [except everybody else thought they were dating already]
I am very intrigued by this ship, pls come back so I can think about them some more, cause, for now, I'm still getting used to it but I'm gonna come up with some ideas!!
p.s.: also I'm very sorry for taking long to reply, weekend was crazy and I had no access to my computer :')

The weight of victory
So I've played around with this idea in my fics before, but I wanna talk about Izuku's unreasonable expectations of Katsuki - that is, Katsuki being the embodiment of victory. Can you imagine the sort of weight that carries, when you look behind the gilded, rose-tinted admiration? When it's not so much a vote of confidence but rather a millstone around Katsuki's neck?
Tumblr media
That's not to say Katsuki isn't very good at winning, even when they were little and he was beating up the older kids. Katsuki himself also holds the belief that Heroes=Winning and has staked almost his entire being on it. And Izuku grew up watching Katsuki excel at everything he's ever tried his hand at, so it's expected that he would have an idealised, lionized version of him in his head, one who fulfils that 'winning' notion. But when does it become... too much?
Spoilers for Chap 362 behind cut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because Izuku has put Katsuki on a pedestal he cannot step down from, one he has refused to let Katsuki step down from. Izuku is so bound up in his belief that Kacchan=Victory that he literally resorts to violence to protect this idea, against the very person who is his 'Victory'.
Izuku punching Katsuki and saying "You'd rather lose? That doesn't sound like you!" I couldn't help but think "But what gives you the right to say that?" I mean I love Izuku, and obviously Katsuki needed the wake-up call to stop being a selfish jerk and work with him, but it still made me weirdly uncomfortable about it. It's weirdly possessive in a way I can't put my finger on.
Tumblr media
Kacchan has to win.
This is what Izuku is telling Katsuki here, both a plea and a threat all at once: you have to win because you're not you otherwise. And Katsuki has carried the weight of those expectations for the entirety of this manga, maybe even his whole life. Even when he's wanted to he's not allowed to lose, because Izuku won't let him.
And yet defeat came for him anyway. When he got captured and the result was that All Might lost the last of One for All, it was a loss that Katsuki blamed himself for and saw as him letting down his greatest hero.
Tumblr media
This, right here. Katsuki admitting his weakness? Katsuki voicing his inner demons and his self-doubt and recriminations against himself? What Katsuki learnt here was I fuck things up by being weak, by losing. Almost 'proving' Izuku right in the cruellest of ways.
Katsuki is shaped by this loss, and while it helped his character grow, it also twisted it into something incredibly heartbreaking, because his self-worth is still dependent on his performance. And to add to this already crippling belief, Izuku wasn't as strong as he'd hoped he'd be. That's right. Katsuki wanted Izuku to win Deku vs Kacchan 2. He was practically desperate for him to win it, because then he could feel like All Might's choice was justified. If Izuku won, then it would validate Katsuki's complicated feelings about Izuku's growth.
Tumblr media
Katsuki's conclusion at the end of Deku vs Kacchan 2 was 'so… nothing's really changed about what I've gotta do'. Why? What would have needed to happen to change what he has to do? Was he looking for some absolution of his responsibility to win? If Izuku won and took that mantle of being the most powerful, could Katsuki have been the one free to make mistakes? To have a kind of safety net for not being the strongest?
But Izuku didn't win. So then, what is Katsuki left with?
Victory.
He is the one who has to shoulder victory, and while he's grown out of wanting to win by himself, it doesn't alleviate the burden on him to win. Because he's not Bakugou Katsuki if he doesn't win. Even All Might himself pointed out this unfair expectation, how he overlooked Katsuki's fragility because of his strength. But even after this watershed moment I don't think Izuku really understood this, I don't think he ever saw his admiration as shackles around Katsuki's heart.
Tumblr media
Katsuki still wants to win, don't get me wrong. He wants absolute victory, no casualties, because that's what drives him as a hero. But there is a difference between wanting to win out of heroism, and wanting to win because there is no other choice. Because what are we left with, when a boy who is expected to win by the person closest to him, who wants him to not be weak, to not surrender, to fight, gets thrown into a no-win scenario?
Tumblr media
This panel completely broke my heart because it's just the culmination, the proof of every uneasy feeling I've had about Izuku's admiration of Katsuki. Katsuki has just had the absolute shit beaten out of him, his most powerful move turned out to be useless, he's half-blind and in so much agony he can barely move and still. Still. He thinks of Izuku, and believes he needs to win. I didn't read this as "We need to win, right Izuku?" but rather "I need to win, right Izuku?" as if calling out to him, confirming Izuku's faith in him.
So he gave it his one last shot while imitating the one person who has surpassed him, the one Katsuki wants to reach out to. He has finally acknowledged Izuku as being stronger, as the one who will ultimately win this fight.
Tumblr media
But he died for the symbol of victory he represents to Izuku anyway.

Me again! (Sorry I'm just really curious. Feel free to ignore any of my asks if you don't feel like replying.)
Anyway, I just really love Shinsou and Bakugou's dynamic so I was wondering how you think they get along when it's just the two of them at home? Or when they just hang out together. Also, have their arguments and bickering ever escalated a little too far? What happened?
Oooo, this is a fun one.
Bakugou and Shinsou get along pretty well at home alone because Shinsou is so good at seeing through bullshit Bakugou doesn't feel much pressure to keep up the tough guy act. That said, Eri's existence is what keeps them from getting too out of hand, so alone means their friendly antagonism goes unchecked.
It started far outside the house, in a mall bathroom.
"I don't think that's sanitizer"
"What the fuck else would it be?" Bakugou kept walking, Shinsou lingering at the sink behind him. The dispenser was weirdly far away from the sink, but it turned out to very much be soap and Bakugou had already stalked out of the bathroom.
Que Shinsou spending thr next 45 minutes watching Bakugou trying to work around soap-hands because he stubbornly refuses to admit his mistake. Shinsou nudges him toward every door first, encourages Eri to hand him things, suggests whatever activity will force Bakugou to use his hands. He finally caves when the paper wrapping of his curry bun sticks to his hands in a dozen fragments to be scraped off one by one.
"Fine, yes, it was fucking soap, you sadistic bastard!" He blows the sticky soap-residue and incinerated paper scraps directly at Shinsou with an unnecessary loud bang.
The next morning, there's hand sanitizer in Shinsou's shampoo bottle.
Then just a dash in Bakugou's water bottle.
Shinsou starts to get nervous when the retaliation takes too long. If Bakugou is taking the time to plan his vengeance, he's going to make it worth his while. Another day passes and the rest of the family leaves for the weekend. Some quirk counseling thing with Eri in Hokkaido. He starts to wonder if maybe Bakugou let it go. He's in the kitchen, eating cereal out of a mug while he waits for the dishwasher to run. Bakugou was usually obsessive about not leaving dishes to pile in the sink, but maybe refusing to clean up after him was a roundabout way of vengeance.
Then the dishwasher starts to leak. Bubbles pour out through the bottom, until there's a carpet of them covering the kitchen floor. He's about to call for Bakugou to help him figure out what the fuck is going on when he realizes.
"Goddammit."
Soon Bakugou is cackling at his misfortune, "What? I just switched soap with soap!"
They're mid-arguement when Aizawa calls, telling them they're coming home early.
"Oh, yeah, that's cool. Yeah, everything's good here."
And suddenly they're on the same side, scrambling to find every towel they own. They think they have managed to erase all evidence of their antics before the family gets home, except neither of them thought to actually open the dishwasher. So when Aizawa does, a small mountain of bubbles falls out.
"Care to explain?"

48 + 50!
48. OC who is a perfect cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure
no one in either story is textbook "perfect cinnamon roll" but sasha ramirez and gigi (gianna crane (shes from cannibalistic pigeons, the project partner i mentioned)) are close contenders. Sasha is a nice person, but not like the pure and innocent variety yk? gigi on the other hand, does start out in cannibalistic pigeons as like 100% cinnamon roll but eventually unfurls completely as the forest begins to call her into it. kinda like how you unfurl an actual cinnamon roll, the sugar and cinnamon and sweetness is still there, it is fundamentally still a cinnamon roll, however it is now a strip of what it once was. or something like that idk the metaphor got away from me
50. Give me the good ol’ OC talk here. Talk about anything you want
uhhhhhhh this is really long so
the gloam started out as bnha fanfiction LMAO
from the basic idea i had written in my notes: "Izuku is accidentally taken to a different universe where the prototypes exist (yu takeyama=uraraka, that version of bakugou that was blunt about everything, other weirdly designed people like kaminari and toruu). The world is kinda in an apocalypse state thats overrun by creatures called aberrants. there’s “heroes” but they’re treated like pest control than celebrities (people still did hero gimmicks for the fun of it)
he ultimately made friends with the other versions. he was forced back home after katsuki was killed by aberrant and yu wanted revenge
when he wakes up back in the regular mha world, aberrants start entering the world and hes the only one who knows how to deal with them"
which in short: alternate universes or whatever. the reason why i abandoned this idea though was because it sorta molded izuku and several other characters into something that they werent. so i saw a post that was like something about fanfics turning characters into basically OCs and i was like. wait a minute. I CAN DO THAT
and so:
the first original idea used to be about 7 teens going on a big camping trip after graduating from high school. the main couple (sylvia + guy i forget the name of) get into an arguement, its super awkward so theyre all like ok ig lets just go home, so sylvia goes in the car with isaac and sasha and in this version, theyre not rlly besties, just people who are friends with each others friends kinda deal yk. but BOOM on the way back they get into a car accident. Sasha and sylvia r badly injured and cant get out, so isaac goes to get help but gets replaced by another person(same as happens in the gloam 4.0 (yeag there is a 3.0 im gettin there)). the rest of the group catches up, get out of the car, and get eaten by a monster. then the whole plot after that was that sylvia and sasha wanted to find isaac as the replacement admits that on the other side of the forest, theres an alternate universe that they could travel to find him. i have no idea what was so supposed to happen after so i scratched the idea.
gloam 3.0 was something similar, adding in the spiciness that the inside of the forest WAS the alternate universe and everyone in it was fighting for their lives. and also sylvia got a gun. what!!! then i scrapped it because i still had no idea how it would be ending or how the story would start because i kinda hated the car accident thing. i could never imagine it quite right.
then theres the gloam 4.0, where you BECOME this alternate version of urself by becoming a sick monster. and also i aged up the main three because i dont know how to write teenagers. im hardly one myself sometimes but i have hanged around both middle aged and old people for my entire life.
i did keep the original ig crossing a threshhold into an alternate universe thing as a seperate idea (anti-glory) but its not something im thinking or working on
(theres a lot more detail that i coul write here but im currently typing this in a moving vehicle and very sleepy)

(Thank you @paprikablues for your donation. Here is an update)
Bakugou Katsuki was at the top of the social food chain.
Midoriya Izuku was at the bottom.
Katsuki is smart, so it didn’t take long for him to recognize that these things were true.
Deku always laughed and smiled and followed him like everyone else. No one else in his class had a quirk like his. No one was as strong as him. And Deku followed him like all the rest.
Deku, who grew older and didn’t have a quirk at all.
That meant he was at the bottom. Everyone knew that, and everyone started changing around Deku.
Kids started pushing him around. They wouldn’t want to play with him, and Katsuki could understand why. There was no point in playing with someone so useless. The adults started looking at him strangely and avoiding him, too. Talking weirdly about him in ways they never talked about Katsuki.
No, Katsuki was at the top of his class. He was smart. He was strong. He had a very good quirk that his parents were proud of.
And Deku was at the bottom. He made good grades, but he was weak. He had no quirk, and only Aunty Inko actually seemed to like him now.
Kacchan at the top. Deku at the bottom.
But now, that seems to be changing.
Deku has a quirk.
He doesn’t understand it, but he can see it. He has sharp teeth like anyone else, but his are extra pointy. They remind him of a dog’s teeth, and as much as he hates to admit it, it’s a little scary to think of a dog biting him. Now Deku has the mouth of a big dog.
And he can smell really well, too. Apparently he’s guessing everyone’s food right as he sniffs them.
There’s also things about him he can’t see.
He’s not sure what it is, but something about Deku feels uncomfortable.
Maybe it’s because those teeth don’t fit him. Deku’s always been…what’s the word. Soft? Fluffy? Yeah, fluffy. But those teeth add angles to him that Katsuki doesn’t think should be there.
And his eyes look different somehow. They haven’t changed much, but there’s something brighter about the green. Like the dark spots in his eyes have lessened, shrunk.
It’s discomforting, and Katsuki isn’t sure he likes looking at him.
But in the end… In the end, Deku can bite hard and smell well. That’s all. That’s no different from a dog.
If a dog tries to bite him, he just uses his quirk, and the dog gets scared and runs away.
Katsuki is at the top. Deku is a dog that runs away.
There’s been no real change.
He can be satisfied with that.
— — — — —
Izuku watches as Katsuki walks off, his hands in his pockets as he goes off to play.
“N…Not…a big deal?” Izuku mumbles, confused.
He doesn’t quite understand. He’d thought…he’d thought Kacchan would be happy.
After all, he was just a Deku without a quirk on a normal day. The days before he got sick, that’s who he was. But now he has some powers, just like everyone else. And people think his powers are cool!
But Kacchan doesn’t.
Sho, Hiro, and Atsushi look at Kacchan’s retreating back before looking back at him. And Izuku looks up at them, confused and questioning.
So he’s able to watch in real time as their expressions shift.
“...Well, I mean…I guess Katsuki’s right,” Sho mumbles, rubbing a long finger against his cheek.
“Eh?”
But… But he’d just been praising his ‘quirk’, so why…
“Yeah…I mean…anyone could bite through bones, right?” Hiro asks, looking at Atsushi, the dark-haired boy. “I bite through chicken bones when we have chicken wings.”
“Yeah, that’s true. I do, too. And smelling…does that do anything heroic?”
“I don’t think so… So he’s right. It’s not much.”
Izuku watches as those same looks start to return. The same ones he saw before he petted the dog, the ones before he got sick, the ones before everything around him started to change. So far, he’s considered most of those changes very good, though some things he wishes would stay the same.
The looks weren’t one of them.
They begin to smile in a way he doesn’t like, one that has him shrinking in closer on himself.
“Well, at least you have something going for you now.”
“Yeah, but that’s it.”
“Maybe you can become the world’s greatest janitor with your sense of smell?”
“Hehehe, that’s a good one.”
They giggled and laughed, then just like Kacchan, they turned and ran off, going to follow the blond.
He stares after them in mild shock, his eyes wide and a hand slightly reaching out. Though, his hand curls in as the whispers start coming in again.
The conversations about him have started changing again. Shifting. The kids look at him with more scrutiny and judgment than before. He hears giggling and sees them starting to point at him more.
The wonder and wary acceptance has already soured so quickly.
He presses his hands down in his lap and curls up a bit, tears starting to bud and run down his cheeks.
See? Fake. Nasty.
But he feels that shifting feeling under his skin until it bubbles up on his back. A large, comforting hand rubs between his shoulder blades, and the burning behind his eyes feels a little less painful.
We know we’re strong. Those nasties don’t matter.
“...But they do. They matter a lot,” Izuku mumbles.
He rubs at his eyes and sniffles, and the hand keeps rubbing his back.
…Hey, we will do something fun soon.
Izuku blinks slowly, sniffling again. Then he takes out a piece of paper and starts to draw, something to distract himself.
“Fun?” he mumbles.
Yeah. Fun. We like running. Running is fun.
“Running…yeah.” He sniffles, but he starts drawing the hills and mountains near the city. “Running…sounds good.”

3, 4, 24, 25 with Kyojuro, Mitsuri, and Obanai please~ (or if it's too much just pick one character for each question 💖)
It is never too much, not for you <3
From the Character ask game
Final arc spoilers and general manga spoilers for anime only fans
3. Least Favorite Canon thing about this character
Obanai - The fact he died. We barely saw him in the manga and only at the end did we see how complex of a character he is and how he truly deserved so much more. I think he was done so dirty.
Kyojuro - We didn't see nearly enough of him. Of course, the small amount of time we spent with him was so well written that you can't help but fall in love with him and just sit in awe of him but I just want to see him more.
Mitsuri - I would say her death but at the same time if I had to choose her or Obanai I would choose Obanai, they tie so closely together but if either of them survived I could see a beautiful story being created from that love lost. She was an incredible character and her strength amazes me. I'm glad she found love, even if it was late.
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
I would put all three in a book, like a comedy/romance book. Kyojuro as the best friend of Mitsuri and her broodish quiet handsome love. I just wanted more of her and obanai but the secret friendship that isn't really addressed between Kyojuro and Obanai would also tie in so well.
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
This is hard to answer because I've never seen characters so complex as them the lore goes so deep, I think about it so much when I'm not having a meltdown.
Mitsuri - i would say Mortal Kombat, weirdly Mileena. I'd like you to hear me out okay. She is insanely strong and beautiful but so misunderstood especially in the recent game where she is human but diseased and it takes over so she is seen as different and therefore ugly. Love both of those girls.
Obanai - My husband, no further comment.
Kyojuro - Bakugou from my hero. Their personalities are so different but I also see so many similarities and like fire goes hand-in-hand with explosions. They are very mission oriented, insanely battle-smart. I can go on...
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
Kyojuro - I think because i read through the manga so fast i didn't really grasp his character because I read the whole thing in like a day... But watching and then going back and rereading I fucking sobbed, he was so good we didn't deserve him.
Obanai - At first i was like... What is his issue? but everyone else was saying the same things during the meeting so it wasn't like he stood out. And then again in the entertainment district his 5 seconds of degrading (love that for him) he just confused me. But by the end of the manga I was like I am holding him so close to my heart. I think because I see so much of myself in Mitsuri I just grew that attachment I was like that's her man which makes him my man. #logic
Mitsuri - I have always loved her, i love her design and from the start I was like, me. She has the same fucking body as me, her struggles with body image and love that I just related to... I love her so much. She's so cool and like if they made her a super hero I would worship her tbh. She grew that idgaf what you think attitude and she did her job like a badass and I love her for that, she was amazing and I wish things didn't end like they did but at the same time, without Obanai, I don't think she would be the same.
Excellent questions Birin, sending you all of my love <3

What do you think Bakugou’s peeny looks like?
If I could find a picture, I WOULD… but I don’t feel like looking at that many weewees rn
-
We knew this already, but short + fat dick king
Average sized, a little below 5 inches soft and about 6″ when he’s hard… it’s really the girth you need to worry about because that shit is HEAVY
It takes up your entire mouth and is impossible to wrap your fingers around… it tends to lean closer to his navel because of it, too
I wouldn’t call it a cervix bruiser, per se… but it definitely manages to hit everywhere at once, if you know what I mean
Also, without proper prep, the stretch can be extremely rough… so Bakugo always has to do a good job of working you open beforehand
Back to looks, though, it goes from pale to very pretty and pink fast, as the tip is usually pretty flushed whether he’s hard or not
Not to mention, VEINY. At least two or three you can point out at any time when he’s hard
And the carpet matches the drapes… I don’t think Bakugo is a trimmer, weirdly
