#i don’t like him/his jokes anymore but he’s the only example i could think of
Text
The fact that @staff has completely obliterated the John Mulaney tag and there’s no posts to be found on here about him, when a lot of us (speaking for myself as a gentile autistic/ADHD mid-20’s person) were referencing his jokes for at least a couple years…..
Do the same thing for radfems and TERFs and Neo-Nazis and spam bots. Please. It fills me with so much anger that that’s a thing that’s so prevalent on here.
This site could be so much kinder to so many of its queer users by doing that. I would like to be able to see and reblog trans women’s selfies without them being marked as ‘‘‘Mature Content’’’, like how there’s a million #transmasc and #enby selfies on here. I would like to see and interact with people’s blogs that don’t look just like me.* And it would be such a nice change to not worry about reblogging from the bigots on here.
*trans women! Fat people! People of color! Fat trans people of color! Sex workers! etc.

Hey can you do one where the reader has a crush on Matt. She is very much giving heart eyes and tries to do anything to make him happy.Matt being oblivious complains to his brother about it.Nick and Chris smack some sense into him saying how lucky he is to have someone like us care about him.Matt disagrees and the reader hears this causing her to stop not wanting to make him uncomfortable.Matt misses the way things use to be and gets jealous when learning the reader is going out on a date.At the end they have an argument and he tells her how he really feels.Lots of angst in the beginning fluff towards the end please!!
OVERBEARING - m. sturniolo
warnings: slight cursing, angst at start, fluff at the end
Tumblr media
-
you couldn’t deny it anymore. and you dont think it went unnoticed either.
the lingering gazes, to the more than normal laughter at his jokes, or the constant acts of service. how you were willing to do anything for him. just him.
matthew sturniolo.
you thought your constant need to be near him was just you wanting to be better friends. that was until your feelings started growing stronger.
“y/n, helloo.”
you brought your attention to the voice you found yourself loving so much.
“sorry, what?”
“i asked if you could pass the remote.” matt repeated while settling down beside you on the couch. you nodded and reached over to grab the remote to hand it to him. it was around 1 AM, and it was just the two of you. nick and chris had went to their rooms while you and matt decided to watch a movie.
“want me to get you a blanket?” you whispered as matt stared at the screen to the opening of the movie.
“no, im good.” matt says. you nodded and turned your head towards the movie. about five minutes or so passed when you asked another question.
“hungry?”
“nope.” matt responds, adding a ‘pop’ to the p to exaggerate his response. you mumbled an ‘okay’. a few beats of silence passed before once again, you asked.
“are you sure-”
“y/n, please m’ just trying to watch the movie in peace.” matt sighed. he was getting frustrated by the second. after a long day of filming with his relatively loud brothers, the only sounds he wanted to hear were the actors on the tv.
but this was only one example of your persistence. you were always clung to matt’s side. following him like a lost puppy at all times.
always there to cook him up a meal after his long day, willing to do any of his chores that he just didn’t feel like doing, even soothing him to sleep on those tough nights where everything went blank.
nick would sometimes make fun of matt. it almost seemed like you were his mother with the way you acted. but thats not what you were trying to come off as. you simply just had a lot of love for the boy that you weren’t really ready to confess yet.
but for matt? he didn’t see your clinginess as a good thing, in fact he began to hate it once nick pointed it out.
on one particular day matt decided to bring it up to his brothers while they were in nick’s room.
“i just don’t get it, like she’s just always there.” matt says while pacing around the room.
“is that a bad thing?” nick asks while organizing the clothes in his closet.
“i mean it wouldn’t be if she didn’t act like im some sort of child.” matt sighed while plopping down at the edge of the bed.
“i dunno, i’d love to have someone like y/n. she literally does everything for you bro.” chris laughs while slightly nudging matt.
“yeah..” nick yells from his closet. “don’t know why you’re bitchin’ bout it she’s literally helps you with like…” nick took a pause to think. “everything!”
matt scoffs before shaking his head. “yeah well it’s nice before it gets fucking unbearable.”
unbeknownst to matt, you could hear this whole conversation. you had came to drop off some food for the triplets, and since you had an extra key you went straight in. now you would’ve made yourself known until you realized you were the topic of their conversation.
to say you were hurt from matts words was an understatement. you quickly rushed out of the house, tears streaming down your face recounting every scenario where you were overbearing.
-
hours turned into days and days turned into weeks. matt hadn’t heard from you in a while. he expected to wake up to your daily morning texts, but nothing. after he shrugged that off he expected you to come over like you usually did. but once again, you didn’t.
he found himself longing for your presence more than he ever did.
you both went no contact until you came over, seeking nicks assistance since you had a date that night in hopes that your little crush on matt would subside.
you had went the whole time without speaking to the brunette. opting for a simple ‘hey’. matt was confused. why were you suddenly so distant? sure he wanted space at times but this is not what he had in mind.
matt finally snapped when you attempted rushing out their house, bidding matt goodbye with a meek ‘see ya’.
matt rose from his spot on the catch before making his way towards you. “are you gonna tell me what’s going on, or are you gonna keep avoiding me?” matt said while crossing his arms on his chest.
you could only roll your eyes before slipping your shoes on. “i dont know what you’re talking about, but i have to go.” you spat harshly before spinning on your heel.
“woah, what’s up with you?” matt yelled, shocked at your sudden anger towards him. he pulled you back by your wrist so you could face him.
“y’know if you found me ‘overbearing’ you could’ve just told me.”
thats when everything came back to matt. instant regret washed over him as he gazed upon your solemn expression. the same eyes that used to hold so much adoration for him now hollow.
“i’m so sorry y/n. i know theres no excuse to what i said but i was just being stupid.” matt sighed while running a hand down his face. “you’re far from overbearing, in fact i...i really miss you.”
“really?” you mumbled while your facial expression softened. matt nodded before embracing you in a tight hug to which you reciprocated by wrapping your arms around his waist. your date long forgotten.
“you’re amazing the way you are, and im sorry if i made it seem any other way.”
you smiled at matts words before leaning up to look at him. “just tell me next time, okay?” matt smiled and lightly pecked the side of your temple. happy to have finally gotten you back.
the version of you he loved.
and the version of you he would always cherish.
-
A/N: sorry this should’ve came out yesterday but i had to study for an exam. i have also been experiencing writers block but i have a new matt series in mind so stay on the look out for that!

Convos With Rin
Rin x Gn! Reader
No warnings! Just pure fluff, also you can ignore the last 2 lines if you want to read this as platonic!
Aka: maladaptive daydreams by yours truly that I cleaned up and formatted. Part 2 here
“Sometimes I wonder if the idealized, romanticized version of relationships I’ve built up in my head are subconsciously affecting my navigation in reality.”
“What?” Rin asks, rolling over from where he lies on his bed to look at you, his teal eyes switching from his phone to glance over at you.
“Sorry, that was word vomit.” You say waving a hand dismissively before speaking again. “It’s just… I mean that I wonder if my expectations of romantic relationships have been distorted because of all the media I consume. And I wonder if that would ruin any chance I have of a healthy relationship.”
You absentmindedly start fiddling with your fingers as you speak.
“Like, for example dating sims, every love interest is over possessive and jealous, and that’s fine, cause it’s a fantasy. And obviously it’s not endorsed in real life, because if you date someone who foams at the mouth every time you look at another man, you’ll have issues. But… sometimes I wonder if I’ll think back to those dumb games when I’m in a relationship and choose something unhealthy for myself.”
A comfortable silence lapses after your ramblings and you wait patiently for your best friend's response.
“…you sure do think a lot more than I expected.” He says after a while and you can’t help but roll your eyes.
“Wow thanks.” You drone out. “You know what? I’d rather you have just flipped me off and called me a dumbass than whatever attempt of a compliment that was.”
“Didn’t mean it like that, I meant that I’d never once thought about that.” He says cooly, in a way that makes you unfairly jealous of his demeanor.
“Yeah? Well, I’m not surprised. Your brain is composed of 50% football and the other half is basic motor skills. I doubt you’ve even thought of anything outside of that.”
“…not true.”
“Oh yeah, you’re right. Somewhere, squeezed between the cracks of those key areas, is your vast knowledge of horror trivia.” You joke, your eyes darting over his sprawled form.
“…” He hesitates to respond before muttering out. “That’s not what I meant.”
“What’d you mean then?”
“…nothing, never mind.”
“Oh boo, you whore.” You scoff, sitting up in his desk chair to devote your attention to him. “Come on tell meeee! I tell you everything… well, almost everything but— nonetheless…”
He glares but you simply smile at him before waiting eagerly for him to finally loosen his tongue and spill whatever he has locked away from you.
And maybe deep down he knows that there’s no winning against you because he ends up opening his mouth to speak.
“I…I think about romance sometimes.” He eventually admits, his eyes darting back to his phone in embarrassment.
“Oho?” You straighten up further, a goading grin on your face much to his annoyance. “Our little Rinrin is growing up!”
“Fuck you, this is why I don’t tell you shit.”
“Aww come on, I won’t tease you anymore I promise! Please tell me more!” You practically beg, looking at him with prying eyes.
“This is lame.” Rin scoffs.
“You’re lame! Romance is perfectly natural. Anyways, is this a crush? A passing fantasy?”
“Why do you care so much?”
“I live vicariously through my friends’ love lives, now spillll!” You say, dragging out the last syllable deliberately to piss him off.
“I’m not having this conversation with you.”
“Why not?” You say a pout on your lips.
“Because you’re annoying and you’re only asking to make fun of me.”
“What? Me?” You gasp out in faux surprise. “Never, could I ever make fun of you, after all you’re my dearest most important–”
“Save it.” He cuts you off, content to ignore you now, engrossed in his phone.
“Kill joy… I’ll get it out of you one of these days.” You say darkly before leaning back to sulk in his chair.
“Over my dead body.” He mutters, but if you looked over to him again, you’d see the tell tale way his gaze fell back to you.
Unfortunately for you, Rin’s crush would stay a secret for just a little while longer.

[Sooo i’ve recently watched Hazbin Hotel and the character Alastor has caught my eye 😭 like i’m so obsessed with him that it isn’t funny anymore- But anyways i’ve thought about some head-cannons for him(they might not be accurate and english isn’t my first language so if you find grammatical errors i sincerely apologize) THE END IS ANGSTY (sorry i just had to, i added a ‘dangerously yours’ reference)]
Tumblr media
How would Alastor express his “love” for you
Tumblr media
• The first time you met him he actually freaked you the fuck out, i mean he had that big smile on his face ALL THE TIME, it was creepy. But after a few days he won you over with his ‘personality’.
• I think that he isn’t the type to have a serious relationship with someone, but he would rather have a ‘soft’ spot for you.
• Sometimes he would open the door for you, if he’s ahead of you, but one time he walked faster than you so he could reach out for the door first and say “Ladies first!”.
• One time, while Niffty was playing with your hair (or horns if your oc has horns) you were doing a crossword. When suddenly Alastor sat down next to you and helped you with some words, since his vocabulary is much more expanded than yours.
• He would definitely keep your tea warm if you’re having a conversation with someone and forget to drink it, while he’s around.
• You always wondered why would he do these little things for you, he still made you somewhat uncomfortable when he’s around but that’s just the aura he gives off, right?.
• One time, while you were sitting in the small bar of the hotel, you were eating cookies and milk for breakfast, when accidentally a cookie fell in the mug and you were about to get a spoon, but Alastor used his magic to pick up the cookie, you were weirded out at first and looked at him suspicious but he only smiled at you, “when did he get here?” you thought while munching on the cookie.
• It actually made him smile more when he saw you laughing at his sassiness or at one of his jokes.
• You found his deer ears to be entertaining, of course you didn’t dare to touch them, but time to time he would make them move (like letting them react to noises yk-) just to see a little smile on your face.
• Sometimes you would listen to him on the radio, it seemed like he always knew when you were listening to him, so he would always be extra sassy.
• He would call you “my dear” “sweetheart” “honey” “little one” “my fawn”
• He would make Jambalaya for you
• One time, Charlie putted on some music to make the hotel less depressing than it already was, a Jazz song came on and you noticed that Alastor looked up from the journal he was reading, it was a song from ‘Frank Sinatra’ named ‘It had to be you’. You were looking at Charlie dancing and laughing with Vaggie they were so cute together!. Suddenly, you felt a poke on your right shoulder and looked but there was nobody there, when you looked back Alastor was in front of you. “Hey” you said smiling kinda freaked out but shrugged it off “Care to dance?” he stretched out his hand, you were a bit unsure since the rumors said that he didn’t like to be touched, but he wouldn’t have offered then, right? “Sure” you spoke while taking his hand, his gloves feeling cold as ever and he took you on the ‘dance floor’. Charlie was surprised but happy that you and Alastor were getting along, she seemed excited!. It was the best dance you’ve ever had.
• When Husk pointed out that you would always get the princess treatment with Alastor, you tried to disapprove “it’s not that, he’s just kind sometimes” “oh really? how can you not see that you’re literally the favorite among all of us!” you shrugged it off, and said “well take example Charlie! He treats her like she’s his child” you said in your defense, and Husk rolled his eyes “it’s not the same.” “where are you trying to get with this talk??” you looked at him while he was cleaning a glass “i just… don’t let your guard down. You already know what he’s capable of” you looked at him with concerned eyes, he was scared that you’ll end up like him “don’t worry i won’t” you reassured him with a smile, and he seemed a bit more relaxed. (of course this happened when Alastor was busy)
• After the conversation with Husk, you kept your distance, you only knew him for two and a half weeks and it seemed like he knew you already for his whole life. A few days have passed and one day you decided to stay in your room all day. You were reading a book, your mind was a mess you weren’t even actually reading. Suddenly a radio static could be heard, your eyes looked up and met his red ones, your heart began to beat faster. You gulped and said, looking away “can you leave, please?” his radio static stopped for a second and he didn’t say anything, his look could tell you already that he wasn’t going to. You got out of your bed and went to open the door “please go…” your voice cracked “what is it? what’s wrong my dear?” his radio voice was somewhat soft but his eyes were cold as ever, you held on the knob tightly than before “you know nothing about me, you’ve known me only for 3 weeks!” before you could add anything else he uttered “3 weeks?” he spoke your name softly and added “i’ve known you all my life” he gestured, his smile getting bigger, while his radio voice began to malfunction, he started to get a bit irritated “all your life?” you said in disbelief, you closed the door and stood in front of him “it’s true!” he stated “when i heard beautiful music, i thought: she likes that” “oh please stop!, don’t think i know that you just want me to sell my soul to you!” he stopped and looked away, the radio static stopping for a second and resuming, it looked like he was thinking of what to say. Your heart sank “…is it true?” he had that stupid smile on his face, he kept his hands behind his back holding his cane tightly. He quickly regained composure, he’s shown you enough of his desperate side and spoke “no, my dear of course not, why would i fool you?” you were about to tell him of the conversation with Husk but you decided that it would worsen things “maybe because you’re the ‘radio demon’?” he laughed, his shoulder moving up and down as he did “oh sweetheart, don’t you get it?” he cupped your cheeks and looked down at you “if i ever wanted to take your soul i would’ve done it already!” he said his pupils becoming radio dials for a quick second, that freaked you out and he just laughed it off “smile my dear! you’re never fully dressed without a smile” he stretched out your lips before pulling away “want some Jambalaya?” he said walking past you, you cracked a smile and looked at him wiping the little tear that was about to fall “of course..” you followed him. Strangely enough you forgot about the conversation with Husk!.
Tumblr media
[This is my first time writing head-cannons so i’m sorry if i’ve made errors! It was hard to make the conversations with Alastor since he has a very formal vocabulary 😭. The last head-cannon was related to ‘dangerously yours’ so it’s kinda weird but i hoped you liked it! Let me know if i should make more head-cannons or do requests! (i just need to learn how to use tumblr lol)]

sooooo, latest video
Well... it seems like there is a video XD
Jokes aside, thanks anon for letting me know Mr. Sanders posted a video that was Sanders Sides related. Kudos for that <3
Then... I have some thoughts about this video. Thoughts I will divide into pros and cons, to make everything easier to explain.
If you don’t like long posts or reading criticism of any kind, please save yourself (and myself) some time and ignore this post. I won’t get offended, I promise.

PROS
A real Aside
It looks like Thomas finally learned the difference between Asides and main episodes. It took him three years, but he finally realized that the Asides should be simple, no plot-related stuff. Good to see he finally got it.
(Still don’t understand why ATHD is a main episode, tho. It’s not plot-related and it’s very clearly more low-effort than FWSA and DWIT. Maybe Thomas didn’t want to leave it all by itself?)
-------------------
Some hopes for the characters
I was very relieved to see that the characters’ personalities are not completely butchered. There are a few things I will talk about in the cons section, but the overall vibe has stayed more or less the same. I’m especially relieved Virgil isn’t the fratboy he was in Thomas’ latest Instagram post, in which he talked all fratboy-esque and I almost expected him to bully me and steal my lunch.
The most in characters are Janus and Remus, which is nice to see too. Remus in particular, is still a chaotic rat man and I love him so much.
-------------------
Remus is my chaotic child
I personally think the best part of the whole video is Remus saying the others told him he could kill Bing Bong. I laughed so hard, I had to stop the video. That wonderful, chaotic rat man deserves to kill everything, as a treat <3
But actually, everything Remus says is great and that proves he’s the best, in this essay I will-

CONS
A weird start
Let me recap my experience while watching the video for the first time.
So, the video starts and I’m welcomed by this guy with an orange shirt and blue hat, all happy and excited. For a split second, I think he’s Patton… but then, a Patton-esque guy with a sweater appears.
Okay, now I’m confused because I have no idea what’s happening here and don’t know who these guys are - I mean, if sweater guy is Patton, who is the orange guy? The orange side was introduced and I missed it? What’s happening here? Who are they? Are those the Inside Out characters as seen by Thomas? Will these guys meet their Sanders Sides “counterparts”?
But then another guy appears and he looks like Janus, so now I’m really lost because, seriously, who are these people? They call each other by name so they should be the Sides, but they also call the orange guy “Joy”, so who is this guy? Who are they? Are they the Inside Out characters cosplaying the Sides? Or vice-versa? What’s happening here?
I got my answer, only when Virgil appeared and clarified this was all a weird roleplay.
I have several questions:
Was it really necessary?
Why?
No, seriously, why? The Sides are the first to admit they aren’t an exact match to the Inside Out characters, so why doing this? Why flatten their multifaceted roles and personalities to do this? Because Mr. Sanders isn’t able to handle them?
Okay, fine, I know why Mr. Sanders wanted to do this weird roleplay and it could’ve been fun to see the Sides acting as the Inside Out characters… if only the Sides’ personalities stayed the same. But since their personalities are not the same anymore, all the viewers feel are confusion and a weird sense of “something’s wrong here”, which they can’t exactly pinpoint.
-------------------
Wrong aesthetics and confused personalities
In order to explain this point, I will bring two examples: Janus and Roman.
First of all, Janus. I know, he’s our beloved sassy queen and we all love him… but his aesthetic in this episode was completely wrong.
Janus is a character who wears layers upon layers of clothing. That’s the first thing you get, the first thing that characterizes him. But in this episode, he wears nothing but a gilet and a scarf. He shows with bare arms, bare shoulders, a deep V-neck and doesn't wear his gloves: for his standard, he’s basically naked.
You can tell me: “It was to match Disgust’s dress”. But since Remus put his own color on the costume, why couldn’t Janus put his own twist too? He’s not doing a perfect cosplay after all. So why not wear a sheer shirt underneath the gilet, to mimic the “nakedness” without showing his skin? Or a greenish/yellow shirt to match both his and Disgust’s aesthetic? I know Mr. Sanders loves to show his skin, but since he created a character whose aesthetic is to not show skin, why “strip” him just to show some more skin? Did Mr. Sanders forgot this aspect of Janus’ character?
But if Janus had at least his face and personality to remind us who he is, Roman had nothing. Seriously, look me in the eye and tell me that, when you saw that guy in orange, you immediately thought: “Ah yes, here is Roman”. There was no way to recognize him, because he had nothing of Roman.
First of all, not a single drop of red anywhere. And I know, roleplay and whatever… but Mr. Sanders is a theater man. He knows the importance of colors. He created seven characters by associating a color to each of them. And yet, Roman appeared without a drop of red, while Remus had no problem turning Fear’s sweater into green.
That doesn't mean Roman had to turn full red, but he could wear a red accessory at least: a bracelet, a necklace, a pin on his hat, whatever. Logan’s tie was blue after all. Or wasn’t Roman allowed to put a twist on his cosplay? This weird roleplay session gives me more questions than answers :/
Second (and most important), Roman’s personality was nowhere to be found. This guy is a more obnoxious, forced version of Roman. When he talked, I didn’t see a person talking: I saw Mr. Sanders reading a script. Or better, screaming a script. Seriously, why was he so loud? Why was he screaming this much, during the roleplay session? I almost got a headache and I don’t get headaches so easily. Seriously, if I needed to hear him louder, I could’ve turned up the volume of my computer, no need to scream this much.
-------------------
The makeup and the importance of details
The dark sides’ makeup has been butchered.
Remus’ eyeshadow used to be of a deep dark black/blue/purple. So why is it so light? Because of the roleplay? But it’s still light after the roleplay. What happened, did Thomas finish the eyeshadow? It’s not too expensive, can’t he buy some more?
Same goes for Virgil: his eyeshadow is basically non-existent. And that’s even weirder, considering that in the Christmas episode, he said he wanted darker makeup to match the darkness of his soul. Does that mean his soul isn’t dark anymore?
And then, Janus. My poor, beloved Janus. His makeup used to be impressive, with scales of a deep green/yellow/brown hue: now they look more like a weird, yellow-y rash, with a thin black line crossing them (probably made with an eye pencil?).
I know Thomas doesn’t have the same makeup artist, but experts exist. And if the one he has isn’t doing their job well, then I’m sorry, but he should hire another one. That’s not being mean, that’s being real.
And before any of you says: “That’s just a detail, you’re being nitpicky”... sure, you can see it like that. But let’s say someone gives you a cake and when you see it, there are missing decorations, the fondant doesn’t fully cover the cake and the phrase “Happy birthday” is wonky. And when you eat it, it has a weird aftertaste too. Sure, it was a gift, but would you think “That was the best ever!” or would you think “Thanks, but you could’ve spent a little more time making it better”?
Heck, you can apply the same concept with this post too! If I posted something with incorrect grammar and misspelled words, would you be happy? Or would you think “man, you could’ve spent a couple more minutes to correct it”?
Skipping details doesn’t make me think you care about your work: it makes me think that either you’re lazy or don’t really care. And if you’re okay with something with missing details, good for you. But from someone with a certain degree of expertise/professionalism like Mr. Sanders, I expect something professional too.
-------------------
Subtle vs thrown in your face
I enjoy the “Janus being a wine mom” thing: it’s funny, it makes me smile, poor boy dealing with the little shits he has around, please give him wine.
But you know what’s really funny about this? That it’s subtle. It happens once in a while. It’s not thrown in the face. And it’s not thrown in the face like that, with Sides luring Janus with wine, almost as if he’s an alcoholic and you can use wine to make him do anything.
Also because the whole “Janus loves wine” thing doesn’t work too well with the functions he embodies. I mean, this guy is responsible for lies. Do you really think lies and alcohol work well together? You need to be extremely lucid and focused to be a good liar. And I don’t think I have to explain to you why alcohol and self-preservation don’t work well together either.
So seeing him with a glass once in a while is funny, but seeing him being all like “you promised me wine” as if wine is his drug… that’s not funny.
Speaking of things that are funny when not thrown in the face, let’s talk about “falsehood” too.
Just like the wine, falsehood was funny when it came once in a while. It wasn’t a switch you could press and bam, Logan says “Falsehood!”. It was a momentarily outburst because Logan’s main reaction isn’t to yell: Logan’s main reaction is to explain things by using cold logic. Because that’s who he is: logic.
So, when I see him dropping a “falsehood” like this, I don’t enjoy it. I feel it old and stale. And it saddens me too, because it looks like Thomas is using the easiest bait to get his fans’ attention. A bit like a bunch of dangling keys: see? Your favorite character says his catchphrase! Now laugh!
-------------------
Apollo gave me the gift of prophecy (or maybe it was just too obvious this would happen)
Right after Roman stops screaming, Virgil starts screaming. And he does it in the most out-of-character way, for the most out-of-character reason.
Since the Q&A episode from season one, Virgil was the first one to tell Thomas that Anxiety looks different for anyone and that he specifically chose the dark persona to keep “everyone’s guard up”.
So why is he complaining so much about a movie representation of Anxiety now? And why should everyone remind him that hey, Anxiety looks different for everyone? He should already know that. He was the first to tell that.
Do you know what this is? No, not a pathetic excuse to talk about a trending topic (i.e. Inside Out). It’s proof I was fucking right and of course I was, because I experienced it too.
What did I say in my old post about the problem with this series? That SaSi doesn’t have an outline. And what happens when you don’t have an outline and, instead of focusing on that project/writing an outline, you do 20 other different things instead? That more time will pass. And the more time will pass, the more you will forget things you already talked about.
Like, you know, a topic from season 1 that was clarified, over and done by the same character who now forgot it.
-------------------
The golden goose will never die
Call me a conspiracy theorist or just an old hag with a heart of stone. But I really would like to know the real reason why, deep down, Thomas made this video.
I doubt it was because he missed the Sides and wanted to do something with them. He doesn’t miss them the slightest, it’s quite clear. He doesn’t even care enough to remember what their personalities are supposed to be, how can he "miss" them?
But oh look, there was new merch to advertise. And Inside Out is a trending topic and the fandom knows about the association between SaSi and the movie. So if Mr. Sanders makes the right video at the right time, he can get a lot of views with minimal effort.
But he should advertise a shirt with all Sides in, so he can’t just make a video about Virgil reacting to a trailer: he needs all of the Sides to be there. So, let’s rush a video with the first idea that popped into his mind: that Virgil doesn’t like the Inside Out take on Anxiety.
Maybe that’s not what truly happened in his mind and behind the scenes. Maybe Mr. Sanders really just wanted to make a video with the Sides and I’m a cynical, heartless person. Personally, I would be way happier to know I was wrong and there weren’t ulterior motives behind this video.
But without any actual proof, I won’t believe this video was made just for passion. Passion doesn’t make you skip details. Passion doesn’t make you put on a sloppy video, without taking two more minutes to check if your characters are IC or the topic you want to talk about makes sense.
Believe me, I’m very sad to say this. I don’t want to think all of this. I always try to be optimistic and think good of people. But if this is what I get, how can I believe this video was made with good intentions and no ulterior motives? Especially since it’s coming from a guy who can be accurate, detail-oriented, and very subtle while acting? He did all of this in the past: now it looks like he forgot everything.
If you want to still watch this Aside, do it. If you enjoy it, even better. For me, that was just a tiny waste of time and it left me nothing except a momentary smile. At the end of the day, I don’t even care enough to watch it twice. And for me, that's a failure, coming from a series I used to watch on repeat.

Just because they agreed to be friends after does NOT in any way mean she couldn't come out with her story. This is coming from a long time fan of Wilbur(not anymore), and someone who was a die-hard Lovejoy fan. All of the facts add up, and besides he admitted to abusing her, physically and mentally in his "apology" tweet. He said he was unaware of pain he was causing Shubble, but also made jokes about how it looked like he was abusing her. ( The bruises from all of the aggressive BITES on her arms). Trust me, it was and still is hard news to take, but I stand with Shubble. I also do not want you to die, just take a look at the facts of what is going on and try to understand from another perspective.
I understand that Wilbur did some crap, but I think his actions weren't THAT destructive. Some things really seem far-fetched to me only because we don’t know all the details of their lives and I would probably like to put an end to what I’m trying to explain for the hundredth time.
I'll explain my point of view point by point based on what I know:
1. I understand that being locked up and bitten until bruises was too much, but it's not as bad as it could be. There are things that could be much, much worse, things that I regularly observe in my country and bites are clearly not the worst thing and you can clearly live with it. (I bite myself because I have nowhere to throw out my emotions, I am an abuser towards myself))
2. As for buying things only at her expense. We do not have precise evidence that this was not their personal agreement. Shelby takes care of buying it, Wilbur takes charge of buying groceries, for example.
3. 80% of men and women are literally disabled at home and are unable to clean up after themselves.
4. As for that thing like “showing strength superiority”, I honestly don’t know what to say about this, like, is this how we play with brothers and sisters??
5. I don't think he deserves so much hate, you can always give him a second chance. Considering that, fuck, he's not a groomer like Forever. He's just a fool who knows no bounds at times. Literally every stream with Tommy contains their stupid fight and for some reason this didn’t affect everyone?? He's always been a bit of a bully, it's a way of communicating. If Tommy hadn't been younger, he would have been canceled long ago. I’m not even surprised by this whole farce, considering the fact that you hated Dream for his appearance.
6. You so easily turn away from a person for one offense after everything. After all the years of watching content, after all the years of friendship, after everything, you just decide to dump a person for one damn misdemeanor.
People make mistakes. Wilbur is a man. He can make mistakes, but people must understand that mistakes can be forgiven and help correct them. You attack a stranger just for having a different opinion. I live in a country that the whole world hates for its president and the actions he does. Dude, the whole world hates me for something I didn't do. So I will defend Wilbur, only because I know what it's like to be hated by everyone for making mistakes. (in my case, for mistakes that were not made by me and I will not be able to correct them)

DRABBLE MARATHON #4:
LEE JENO + autumn leaves
Tumblr media
1,4k words /// genre: fluff /// warnings: adult language.
In which he confesses as autumn leaves fly by.
Tumblr media
The swing set in the park became your spot somewhere in the middle of your 2nd year. It was on an old playground, barely lit by a single yellow lamp post. Most parts of the playground looked too rusted to be safe, but the swing set hadn’t broken even once in all your months of visiting it.
Jeno always met you there, his smile bright and adorable even on his bad days.
He often stopped at the playground after his nightly bike rides. He thought meeting you there, on the tired swing set, had been the best stroke of luck of his entire life.
Soon, it became a tradition to tell you ‘hi’ when he saw you sitting on the swing as he was passing by. Then he started taking breaks every time he got to the playground, hoping that you’d show up as well. And then, before long, the two of you met up there almost every night, talking about everything and nothing, eating convenience store snacks and trying to coax passing stray cats to be your friends (they never did agree though).
On this night again, Jeno biked through the park, coming to a halt when he saw your familiar figure.
“Hey,” he called out as he approached and you offered him a smile as you often did. “Isn’t it cold?”
“Just cold enough,” you replied and continued swinging. “How was your ride?”
“A little more slippery than usual,” he admitted and took his usual seat in the swing next to yours, kicking his tired feet a little for some momentum. “There are a lot of leaves and puddles around. I almost slipped twice” He sighed in defeat. “I don’t think they clean the streets a lot.”
You chuckled. “Might have to start carrying around a rake yourself.”
“Do not tempt me,” he joked. “How was your day?” He sat up straighter all of a sudden, eyes wide. “Oh! Didn’t you have that academic writing seminar today? How was it?”
You shrugged. “It was fine.”
He smiled at that. “Wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be, huh?” You nodded somewhat shamefully, well aware of the nonsensical panic you had rambled to him about just the night before. He clicked his tongue. “If only someone had told you so…”
“If only,” you played along and kicked your feet a little harder to swing higher than him. He gasped theatrically at that before following suit. Soon your laughter echoed between the trees, alerting passers-by of your joyful presence.
As your feet grew tired, however, (much faster than Jeno’s, as much as it pained you to admit), you slowed down again. You watched him for a while as he kept swinging, the cold autumn breeze messing up his fluffy hair.
“Hey, Jeno?” you found yourself asking.
He hummed in response.
“What’s your biggest fear?”
He answered without missing a beat, “Bears.”
You snorted. “What?”
“What?” he retorted, slowing down so he could calmly explain, “They’re freaking terrifying. Why are they so big? Why are they everywhere? Why do they eat everything? You can’t even run away from a bear because it out-runs, out-swims and out-climbs you. Absolutely fucking terrifying.”
“I–” You had to admit he had a point.”Okay, so, I meant from a more psychological, existential point of view. Like, is there some kind of a life event you’re afraid of?” Seeing his puzzled expression, you added, “I’m terrified of life after graduation, for example. The uncertainty of the future.”
“Oh.” He paused to think, staring up at the starry sky. He then nodded and looked at you again. “Bears.”
“Jeno,” you laughed, “I’m serious.”
“Okay, okay,” he chuckled and took a moment to really think about it. “I guess… Confessing my feelings?”
“To who?”
“There just is one person.” He smiled to himself and you felt a pang of jealousy as you realised how much he must’ve adored this person. But then his smile faded, becoming just a quirk of his lips but not quite reaching his eyes anymore. He sighed. “But I don’t think they like me back.”
“Why do you think that?” you wondered. “You’re a great guy.”
He shrugged solemnly. “Maybe. But am I a great guy for them? Am I what they look for in a guy? Or am I just a hopeless romantic who’s never meant to be more than a friend?”
“That’s a depressing thought,” you muttered out loud without really meaning to. “I mean, if you have those thoughts every time you have a crush, will you ever find the courage to actually find someone to spend your life with?”
He groaned at the thought, his head falling back as if it was getting heavier by the minute. “Don’t do this to me. It’s, like, 10 pm. I am not in the mood for a therapy session.”
“Sorry,” you whispered and reached over to pat his shoulder. He leaned his head forward again, resting his cheek against your hand. “If it counts for anything, I think you’re great. I’ll always be your friend, whether you find that someone or not.”
Jeno’s breath hitched at that. “You mean that?”
“Of course.” Even if it kills me inside to never be more than that to you.
He bit his lip, nearly drawing blood, before sitting up properly and looking you in the eyes. “We can’t be friends anymore.”
Your life seemed to flash before your eyes. “What?”
“Wait,” Jeno lifted a hand, folding all fingers but his pointer, his eyes squeezing shut painfully, “that sounded really wrong. I’m– Uh… Let me try again.”
You weren’t sure you wanted him to try again.
“(Y/n),” he took a deep breath and forced his eyes open again, “I don’t want to be your friend.”
He paused, trying to find the words to say before you lost all hope in him and walked away. To be fair, you were on the verge of doing just that. He grabbed your hand to prevent you from doing so.
“I want to be more than that,” he breathed out, his hand shaking in around yours, “I want to be the person whose home you go to at the end of the day, whose bed you take your afternoon naps in, whose arms you run to when you celebrate something. I want to be the person who knows all your favourite songs, all your embarrassing childhood stories, all your favourite snacks. I want to be your person.”
Your brain worked double-time to process the information. With wide eyes, you pointed at yourself. “I’m the person you like?”
He nodded, a tight smile on his face. “I like you.”
“Why?” you couldn’t help but ask, unable to believe someone like him – a varsity athlete, a straight-A student, the face of the university’s soccer team, a man carved by the angels – could have feelings for you at all.
He chuckled. “How could I not? You’re amazing.”
“But… I’m just me and you’re–”
“Don’t pull the rom-com lines on me, please,” he whispered, squeezing his eyes shut. “Just rip the band-aid off and reject me.”
You frowned. “But I don’t want to reject me.”
His eyes opened, sparkling under the streetlight. “You don’t?”
You shook your head and smiled at him. “No.”
“Then…” He let out a noise of confusion as his face scrunched up in thought. “What? You really– You like me back?”
You nodded and it made him spiral even more. “Are you sure? You don’t have to pity-confess. I’m fine. I’m a big boy. I can handle rejection. Don’t– Don’t play with my feelings like that… They’re–” His voice cracked. “They’re fragile. I’m… fragile.”
“I really like you too,” you confessed, squeezing his hand. “I think you’re amazing too.”
He blinked rapidly, unable to fight the smile appearing on his face. “You– Me– Like– Oh my god, I could cry.” He let out a giddy giggle – much resembling a little kid getting told he could have ice cream for breakfast – before reaching for your other hand as well. Once had both of your hands in his, he cleared his throat. “Then, and I can’t believe I get to ask this, but– uhm– Can I be your boyfriend?”
When you matched his giggle and nodded, he swore he would remember this exact moment for the rest of his life and cherish it as his most precious one: your bright smile and star-filled eyes, complete with the autumn leaves flying by in the background.

Jesse/Kix Burnt umber
I'm such a sucker for Jessix.
Burnt Umber: (How long until the say ‘I love you’ for the first time?)
Some things came naturally to Jesse two years into the war. For example, the steadiness of hand to hold a blaster at a moving target, or finding a way to make his squad smile, those were easy things to him.
The same could be said for the moment that tonight seemed to hang in. It was quiet on the Resolute with little but the thrum of the ship filling their bunkroom, but it was peaceful, not like the quiet that came after heavy losses or when morale was down. There was no urgency to have sex while they could, no raucous laughter that could be heard down the hall, only the music that came from Hardcase’s little radio filled the space. Another time, Echo would tell him to turn it off, that he was disturbing his reading, but tonight he read without complaint with a relaxed turn of his lips as he laid his head in Fives’ lap.
Tup had roped Dogma into a card game on his top bunk, and even Rex was taking refuge in the peace in Hardcase’s bunk as he cleaned his deecees meticulously. The chatter was mostly from the boys on the top bunk, but every so often, Jesse heard Echo ask Fives if he’d heard about something he was reading about, and then proceed to tell him all about it. Fives always listened though, even if he teased his partner about how absorbed he got in his reading. Or he would hear a soft groan from Rex as Hardcase uttered what was no doubt another bad joke from their time as cadets. It was nice to see the two of them relaxing together. It was rare that Rex had any time to himself, much less time to spend with his partner.
“You’re quiet,” Kix said from wear his head was laying on Jesse’s chest.
And then there was Kix, curled up on top of him, blanket draped over them, content to simply listen to the chatter, to hear Jesse’s heart beating against the shell of his ear. A smile tugged on his lips as Jesse’s fingers idly traced the lines shaved into his hair.
“Just enjoying the company,” Jesse replied.
Kix hummed, seemingly content with his answer. His eyes slipped shut, and a blissful smile graced his lips as he spoke. “I wish we could stay in this moment forever.”
It was a quiet confession, meant for only Jesse to hear, and a bittersweetness washed over him. Tomorrow was never a guarantee in war. No one knew that better than Kix, who always fought for a tomorrow for every single one of the men that came into his medbay, or fell on the battlefield, but forever was a nice notion to think about, even if it was something that Jesse couldn’t promise.
There was something, however, that Jesse could promise him because it was easy. It felt natural.
“I love you,” he murmured.
Kix picked his head up, eyes shining in the dimly lit bunkroom. His feet shifted under the blanket, kicking idly as though he were trying to contain the excitement that was threatening to burst from his body. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Jesse smiled and brushed his thumb over Kix’s cheek. “I can’t promise tomorrow, but I can promise that I’ll love you forever.”
The sudden shift in movement was loud in the otherwise mellow atmosphere, and it drew everyone’s attention when their lips collided. A few whistles and an endearing coo from Hardcase, (something like, ‘you don’t say those kinds of things to me anymore’ to Rex in a teasing tone) echoed in the room as they kissed slowly and deliberately.
“I’ll love you forever, Jess,” Kix whispered, and this time it really was only loud enough for Jesse to hear, “I promise.”

so I just watched across the spider-verse for the second time (woohoo!) and I would just like to list some things that I noticed/loved about this movie!
SPOILERS!!!!
- During the gorgeously animated Spot sequence (the first one in black and white), when the Spot is explaining to Miles that his spider came from univere 42, we can see a kid with two braids in a classroom. It’s very likely that this is the Miles we saw later on in the movie.
- Gwen’s whole world! ugh it’s just visually stunning! The way the background also factors i the emotions at play quite literally reduced me to tears. Muah muah chef’s kiss!
- I’ve seen a lot of people talking about how Miguel is different from other spider-people and I would jus like to add my two cents. Miguel IS Spider-man, but he became him in such a different way to the others. This is why he basically has to inject the spider venom (?) into himself. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have the spider sense either? In the scene where he, Gwen and Jess are fighting against the Leonardo Da Vinci Vulture, Miguel is just standing there, preaching to Gwen, while the Vulture is LITERALLY STANDING RIGHT THERE??? RIGHT BEHIND HIM??? Gwen just... doesn’t alert him about it and instead makes it a quippy joke, but it seems to me like he either doesn’t have a spider sense (a pretty significant part of being a spider-person) or it just decided not to work at that moment. Also interesting about Miguel is that his trauma has skewed his view so much that he is barely even recognisable as a Spider-man anymore. For example: he makes a giant mistake resulting in a whole universe being wiped out. Teenager unknowingly makes a mistake that could have the same result if not handled correctly. Now. How would your average run-of-the-mill Spider-man handle this? You know how he would NOT usually handle it? By BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF SAID TEENAGER AT MULTIPLE DIFFERENT POINTS IN TIME. Miguel also genuinely believes that there’s a certain structure to being Spider-man. There’s certain trauma-checkpoints you have to hit in order to be Spider-man. That’s... I don’t even know what to say except that that’s really messed up. The scene where he just CAGES Miles, presumably to wait there until his dad died? That’s not how you should go about any of this!!! I mean I shouldn’t even have to say that. It’s HOW you wear the mask that matters.
- Okay enough about Miguel (didn’t know I had that much to say about him tbh). The characters in this movie were extremely strong! The ones we got to meet all had a clear, discernible personalities. I am definitely not immunce to the comic relief characters and I have gained new favourite characters in Hobie and Pavitr (like p much everyone else lol)
- Miles. Miles I’m so. Wow. He’s not eve real but I’m so proud of him. I nearly bawled when he tried to “come out” as Spider-man, while I had already figured out that he was in the wrong universe. Just. God. This poor boy. He was lierally going to study quantum physics so he could see his friends again only to find out that they had the chance to do exactly that this whole time and just chose not to. It was a gutpunch when it was revealed they knew that his dad was going to die this whole time. My heart was audibly beating for him the entire last 50 minutes of the movie, that’s how anxious it all made me.
I have so much more to say about all of it, but this post is already the longest I’ve ever made so I’m just gonna cut it short for now. I would love to hear all of your thoughts on this! This is just what I got from the movie, but I’m sire I could have misinterpreted some thing, so please do tell me what you all think!

beejhawk 👀
LMAO I was just sitting here like "no one even bothers to send me beejhawk anymore" but bless you to the bottom of your pot-stirring heart, anon.
Don’t Ship It
Why don’t you ship it? I have several reasons, which I will get into it, but I'm going to start with this one: I like a happy ending. Beejhawk cannot be a happy ending to me. I'm not entirely convinced any Hawkeye/4077th ship being endgame can be a happy ending, even the ones I like. I want to see Hawkeye move on from the war, which is what GFA is setting him up to do. Beejhawk keeps him stuck with the war defining his life. That's depressing to me. In the larger narrative of Hawkeye's life, it's important to me that the war is unimportant. The war being how Hawkeye met the love of his life gives me the ick. It implicitly suggests the war was somehow worth it. I can't think of a single reason why I would ship it. I think the biggest reason is it's simply too OOC for me. I cannot believe that Hawkeye would be in love with BJ. That is not Hawkeye to me. I actually can believe that BJ would be in love with Hawkeye, even though BJ is extremely straight to me, but I can't see Hawkeye reciprocating, ever. I've read some beejhawk fic and a lot of posts, and the way Hawkeye behaves and is characterized doesn't just feel wrong to me, it feels wrong in the way I hate the most. BJ is usually wildly OOC too. The other big reason is the complete lack of chemistry. They have negative romantic chemistry to me. This is a much smaller reason, but the things people get from beejhawk I get from other ships that make more sense to me. For a best friends ship, I have piercentyre. If I want to ship Hawkeye with someone repressed, I have hawnk or houlihawk. Sometimes I joke about this but it's kind of true that I don't need beejhawk because I have hawnk. The Joke Is Wild? Hawnk did it first. I genuinely do not understand why beejhawk is a ship at all, except that they're the two main guys. If I didn't know how slash culture worked, I would have been shocked that it even existed. In the last few seasons, I'm not even convinced they like each other. I found myself asking "do these guys even like each other?" about the alleged best friends more than once, and I had to actively rev up my suspension of disbelief to enjoy their goodbye properly the first time I watched GFA. I very strongly dislike any framing of MASH as a love story, and I have yet to find beejhawk content that doesn't turn it into the Ballad of Hawkeye and BJ. Piercentyre is fun for me, because it really changes the show very little. Beejhawk requires me to rewire the entire show, and I don't want to. A lot of moments that I adore become less meaningful to me if they're shippy. For example, Where There's a Will, There's a War. "When I wake up remind me to give you a kiss" is an expression of BJ's profound relief and a wonderful resolution to the anxiety and guilt he's been feeling for the whole episode. It's hyperbole that only works because they don't normally kiss or want to kiss. It always brings to mind a lyric from a song about WWII: "and I never kissed so many men as on that afternoon." It's not about romance, it's about being glad to be alive. I just like the show better without beejhawk. I started out a little more neutral and my visceral revulsion built through overexposure. There was also an assumption that you shipped beejhawk that I really resented. Especially because of the implications around it being slash. I am gay, I ship gay ships, I ship other gay ships in MASH. I don't ship beejhawk. I'm not required to ship every single gay ship. So all those beejhawk posts about "gay people love this" or "gay people think that" bother me and turn me off even more.
What would have made you like it? Completely different acting/chemistry. Something completely different from what I ever see the fandom do with it. I could probably be sold on unrequited (BJ's side only) or unhappy ending beejhawk in fic if it was really well done. This is your chance to plug! I think a realistic handling of it would help too. The show gives me a BJ who is as far from leaving his family as a man can be. I need to be convinced that something would change that. Meta claiming he's actually close to leaving in the show does not work for me, it directly contradicts what I see. I need writers to dig into it. Actually show me the dissolution of BJ's marriage, the pain and consequences. Show me how he manages to stay in his daughter's life, if he does. Brokeback Mountain does not shy away from how badly Ennis treats his wife and how absent he is to his children. My experience with beejhawk is that much angst is made of the obstacles to their being together, but they're quickly dispatched with. Tell me what Hawkeye sees in BJ, because I don't see it in the show.
Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it? It inspired me to make these. I've been thinking lately that this lyric fits beejhawk "perhaps we don't fulfill each other's fantasies." If you know me, you know this is something positive from me, because it's from what I think is one of the best songs ever written. There is some interesting potential. Just get out of the true love box! Try something dark, something one-sided (BJ's side), something that ends badly! I do really like their friendship in the first few BJ seasons.

Who’s going to die in s5 and does anyone even need to die?
putting my thoughts on this out there now because i'm curious how they will hold up with s5 canon or if the characters that i think are narratively untouchable will bite it in the opening
because objectively, no, no one needs to die. not every story needs to kill off major characters to be "dramatic". strangers things has even gone out of it's way to avoid doing that since it’s first season. the characters that Do die are always ones that were introduced in the same season with the specific purpose of dying. Barb, Alexei, Eddie, all the vecna victims
they even skirt killing main characters, like how Eddie in s4 seems to be the placeholder for Steve since they didn’t want to kill him yet. there’s also interviews saying they wanted to kill him in s1 or 2 but then didn’t because they liked his character and wanted to keep him in the story. (also a fan favourite character too yk). similarly El was also supposed to die in s1, but even before st becomes a multi season show it's implied she’s alive right in the last minutes of s1
so while St sure loves killing people (see just how many people died in lab massacre 1 in 1979, lab massacre 2 in 1984, and the flesh flayer human meat incident) you’re pretty save as long as you’re a main character and survived your first season on the show
so s5 continuing with that and not killing any main characters is definitely an option, they don't need to kill. no matter how much the audience is waiting for "stakes" to be set, not every story needs to kill it's characters
on the other hand, there’s also a lot that suggests they might kill someone for real this time. challenging the perceived safety of main characters in the last season with a world ending stakes set up in s4 seems reasonable. there’s also the more theoretical perspective that we're in the final season now and there’s no coming back for any of these characters anyway, no matter if they live or die. the logic of making it to the next season that saved some of their asses before no longer applies
it would also make sense and not be uncommon for a story to kill someone important during the final installment to make it apparent how BadTM it is. most of the audience is also aware by now that the show isn't killing long running mains so changing that rule would serve the final season well (especially if it happened before the last 2 episodes and put people more on edge for the finale, now that mains apparently aren't completely invincible anymore)
so leading up to s5, I really think the chance of them killing at least one major character for real this time is the highest it’s ever been. the question would just be, who? and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone agree on this ever so I just want to go it over myself, get my thoughts on this out pre s5 spoilers rolling in. trying to evaluate how solid a build up for a death would be
going over various characters under the cut
there’s obviously some side characters that could reasonable die but I think would be the weakest choices, if not an outright joke at an attempt of “emotional impact” on the story
for example, they could kill Murray, there’s really nothing stopping them, but it wouldn’t be a very impactful death. the only one who has a real connection with him is Joyce. if they wanted to kill more than one character I can see them going for it, especially if they killed Murray earlier and had a bigger character die towards the end of the season. but otherwise, if he’s the only one dying it’d be funnily underwhelming. this also goes for Dimitri (depending on if he will be back for s5). easy to kill but would suck phenomenally as the only death
same for characters like Vicky and Argyle, who are both incredibly new characters so killing them would be very underwhelming. here with the added aspect of them both being minorities, and while you can obviously kill minority characters just fine, if they were the only characters dying it would look pretty bad compared to the 90% white and het cast that’d be alive. killing Vicky with her ongoing romance plot where they need to establish an entire relationship first would also be obviously stupid
moving to main and secondary characters of the show that have more significance. secondaries like:
Robin, who like Vicky and Argyle, would also be a weak choice. killing her at the end of her romance arc set up for s5 would be extremely unsatisfying in a way that doesn’t fit any of the shows themes. also again, killing just her would look horrible, and even if two people died, she’s been the public queer rep of the show before they officially had Will too post s4, would be kind of an insane choice to kill her
Steve on the other hand has much more merit to him. he’s the character we know the Duffers wanted to kill years ago and only held back due to the actors charisma and potential they saw for his story. and both of these points would be moot in a final season of the show. there’s also been enough foreshadowing of a death that would stand out on a rewatch and make it feel more planned. like the funnily long handshake he and Dustin have in s3 including Dustin stabbing Steve and him “dying”. killing him would also work to impact a significant number of characters as well as the audience since he IS a fan favourite. on the other hand, it would be a bit questionable to kill the other "guy that's close with Dustin" right after he had Eddie die on him. Eddie was a pretty clear place holder for Steve in s4, so killing Steve the season after wouldn’t be very different from a storytelling pov. but I could see them go for it, easy death, enough set up, potential to be upsetting, not whole show-vibe ruining
because compared to that, Hopper is someone I honestly don’t see dying at all. he not only had a full fake out death, the whole of s4 russia arc was about getting him back alive. if they just kill him anyways most of s4 will feel pretty pointless, especially after he’s Just at the point where he might see that he isn’t a curse on all the people around him. killing him would negatively impact his character growth AND fall flat with him already having died and come back right after. killing him fr right after he came back would honestly just be really funny, like, i don't know how serious people would even take it, i'd just expect him to come back again tbh
Joyce… is just kind of out there. killing her off would be brutal with how central of a character she is. her and Mike really were the two plot leading characters all the way back in s1 and her character seems to be a bit of a face of ST alongside with characters like El. it would also be rough on Will and Jonathan, like, character altered forever rough, so if she died these characters would have to change drastically. which would need her death to happen before the last two episodes if they wanted to do it justice. and killing her that early on would also feel odd with how much she’s a part of the core story. and of course there’s the whole deal with her just having gotten together with Hopper which should at least give her a few episodes of protection to explore that. overall, I think they could do it, but they would have to be insanely careful to pull it off well and I’m not sure it’s something they’d go for or something that's even possible to do well with only 8-9 episodes
Jonathan is someone a lot of people seem to think could die, but I also feel like a that idea comes from general lack of interest in his character. he Could die, yeah, it would also be interesting how characters dealt with it, but just like with Joyce, killing him off in the last episode would very much feel like a cheap kill for shock value since the strongest aspect of killing a character like him would be seeing the ripples it has over the story. and killing him would also put an extremely tragic end to his character arc which he hasn’t finished yet. he’s constantly parentified, steps back in favour of other people, he still couldn’t tell Nancy he wants something different than her for college, and so on. his s5 arc would have to focus more on his own growth over the series and accepting himself and his worth, so dying would be insanely tragic for him. again I feel like they Could do it, but it’s questionable if they’d be able to do it justice and not make it feel like his character is from a Shakespearean tragedy while everyone else is from a different genre
Just on reflex, Nancy is someone I don’t see dying. killing her would be really bold. all with her being one of the few women, and a character that's always been near the center of the story, and with her being the deciding party in the middle of a love triangle. but on the other hand, I could see some merit in killing her. she was the main leader in s4 and arguably already had her moment to shine when she shot Vecna (even if they still lost, it was arguably the most epically framed “win” moment of the season). she also finally got some closure on Barb’s death, ie. knowing Vecna killed her. you could also definitely argue that it would be interesting if Nancy was the one to ultimately die instead of the vision where she saw her mom, Holly, and Mike, dead (or implied to be dead, she doesn't say the word). so the longer I think about it, the more I could see a positive impact on the story. but it'd still be rough, and it would mean upsetting both Jancy and Stancy shippers by having neither have a happy ending, which, actually, would be kind of interesting, but I’m not sure the Duffers would go for
and then there’s of course the kids where it gets really hard imo. both based on the tone of ST and how it would be insanely dark
Erica is just someone I genuinely don’t think they can kill, ever. she’s the absolute youngest, also one of their 3 poc characters. don’t see any reality where she dies. they already didn't handle her character particularly well since her introduction so, no way they're insane enough to kill her
similar to my point about Hopper earlier, I also don’t see Max dying at all. she almost died in s4 during her initial encounter with Vecna, barely survived, and then got got for real and was dead pre El reviving her. her dying for real in s5 wouldn’t hit particularly hard anymore after she starts the season lost in some variation of a coma. her s5 arc already has to be about finding her, and presumably her dealing with the trauma of waking up. also whatever role she plays in the season, since we don’t know how many episodes it'll take before we can get her thoughts and actions again. killing her at the end would be kind of repetitive and absolutely fuck her character arc over since she just realized how badly she wanted to live regardless of her depression
El's character would also not have any benefit from dying, it would actively cut her character arc short, which has been a central point of every season up to now. her whole deal is learning that she’s not a monster that’s responsible for everything and figuring out who she actually wants to be as a person that can make her own decisions. her ending the series dying or sacrificing herself like so many people seem to think she will would be very weak writing imo. having her finally reach a point in s5 where she's free of Brenner, and guilt over what happened, and her het relationship with her boyfriend who doesn’t love her, and finally starts to realize who she wants to be, only to have her make the decision to die for the people she loves would just suck. it’d be compelling... if ST was a drama story and trying to tell a story of hopelessness. which is not at all what ST has been up until now and is also not what anyone involved has said s5 to be
Will is also unkillable without completely breaking the genre of the show. people are right that him dying in s5 would be full circle to s1. and showing the inevitability of the UD killing him after all and how he couldn’t get away would be fun sure, but it’s not stranger things. aside from actors already having said Will gets some form of happy ending, killing him just wouldn’t work. everyone was trying to get him back alive all the way back in s1. him eventually dying after all is a cool concept in theory, but it doesn’t work with the show at all
Mike is also hard to kill. with Byler happening, it would be insane to kill either of the two parties right after having them get together or confirm each other’s feelings. Mike is one of the characters with the most consistent allusions to something bad happening, especially in s4, with the whole set up of “hasn’t unpacked yet”, jaws poster, “death count is going to rise”, and Nancy’s whole vision about him presumably dying, but it’s much more likely he just won’t have a good time in s5, not die. he already had a fake out death as far back as s1 with the cliff, so if they want the show to go “full circle” they could just have him almost die again, or have someone Think he died for a bit. perma killing him just doesn't work with the mleven to byler arc they set up for s5
Lucas doesn’t have any death flags and there would be no benefit in killing him. killing Will for example would at least be interesting on a meta writing level if you disregard the genre of the show, but killing Lucas would just… feel insanely unjust, he's just a kid who already went through writing fuckery in s4. he also almost lost Max, and his s5 arc seems to be very focused on her and helping her. killing him off right after Max survived would just be plain bad. do not see Lucas dying in any reality
And Dustin is my "if they had to kill a kid". there Are some lines you could definitely catch on a rewatch post death that would make it feel less out of nowhere, be it the “if you die I die” said to Steve, or Suzie talking about Dustin feeling like it could foreshadow a death. Dustin also doesn’t have the protection someone like Mike has, where he’s in the central gay childhood best friends to lovers plotline
overall, I think Vicky and Argyle are essentially guaranteed to be fine. there’d be not much emotional payoff for the audience and only the killing of the few diverse characters of the cast. Robin would also be hard to kill without making it look weird with her just introduced romantic interest. Hopper and Max are too much “been there done that” to die for real. and the kids dying would at best seriously derail the expectations the show set until now and negatively fuck some of their character arcs over at worst
so. tldr, my thoughts on this: killing Joyce is possible imo, but extremely hard to do justice. similar sentiment about Jonathan, even more so bc it directly conflicts with his character's core struggle. killing Nancy would probably be the most interesting choice to go for, to me, if done well, but it’s something I don’t really see happen in the show. Steve seems like the most likely choice to die since he’d be a pretty easy kill, the audience and a significant amount of characters like him so it would have impact, there’s enough death flags to make it seem foreshadowed… would just work really well. and if any of the kids died it would have to be Dustin imo, even though I’m still of the belief that they won’t touch the kids when it comes to killing characters
also, Murray's just a free kill to me, not impactful enough on the characters to fully derail character arcs but still with the show long enough to be a bit sad to see go. if they’d kill only him it would be a bit wasted because it would feel like a copout of killing an impactful character, but if they want to kill a primary character and make stakes higher by killing someone else, Murray is the easiest to turn to for that, especially if they want someone to die in the earlier episodes
and this is just about the "main" characters (as a broad term here). characters that could also ofc die are other kids parents, police officers we know like Callahan, other side characters like Mr Clarke or the mayor. but most of these would not really have much impact on the story and would pass more as casualties along the way
the Wheelers are a bit of an in-between here, because while none of them get regular main character focus and don’t even know about the UD, they still come back every season on a personal level and have the most solid characterization out of side characters. Karen even has a noteworthy character arc, which none of the other side characters have. Holly will be fine honestly, Ted is really just there, not much screen time, i don't really see much benefit in having him die, if he did it would most likely have to be in passing or in mass casualties. so Karen would be the one I could realistically see be compelling to kill. as a side character I’d put her on a Murray level, where she’s consistently on screen and everyone knows her but she’s not really someone people would be upset for days about
the Murray treatment also goes for someone like Owens btw, where I could easily see him die as a side note (not as the main death). he's been with the show for a while but doesn't have enough impact on the story to really force you to keep him alive. there's for sure info we can still get from him in s5, but after we have a full picture of what happened with El and Henry at the lab and how Owens was involved there's really nothing keeping him alive as a character
and everyone's done, wall of thoughts over!
that’s where I’m at with all the characters as of now, especially from looking at their past arcs up to s4. I’m just really curious how this will hold up with the actual s5. Maybe they’ll just go in bold and kill someone I would have said has a 0 chance of dying right away, who knows who knows

What kind of wishes would the other 6 teens make in KOW? I know Simon wished to be a knight, what about everyone else?
Honestly that’s a though one, but let’s see
Gabo as he mentioned in the story itself would wish for a lot of riches and gold, but that desire only stems from his longing to be respected and taken seriously, money can get people to pay attention to you, and that’s all Gabo wants, attention. But since he accidentally said his wish out loud to his friends I’d say he’d change his wish to just “be taken seriously”, to which the king would probably twist into people actually taking offense in his sarcastic jokes which would lead to him being all alone.
(Starting good with some Gabo angst, nice)
Next up, Dahlia. Since her parents became the royal cooks they never payed too much attention to her anymore, and Dahlia wanted to make them proud, so I’m guessing (I say “I’m guessing” like I’m not the one making this up) her wish would be to get more connected with them. Magnifico would probably just think that wish’s boring and not find any way to twist it into something fun for him, so he’d just leave it ungraded, making Dahlia forget she ever wanted to be close to her parents in the first place, thus their whole family just becomes detached from each other.
Let’s see who next… hmmmm
Bazeema would most likely wish to make Rosas prettier with more flowers, that’s kind of her own way of bringing joy to others but in a way she doesn’t have to interact with anyone, she’d basically just wish to be a better at gardening, and of course making the kingdom prettier is always a plus in Magnifico’s book so he’d grant that wish just as is, no reason to change it. Congrats Bazeema you get no angst in your story cause I’m picking favorites
Safi would wish for a pet that doesn’t make him sneeze, since every single animal he ever encounters, cats, dogs, birds and even Valentino triggers his allergies, so he’d just want to have an animal friend, maybe a chicken… I don’t know how Mag would react to this one, like it’s so simple, and I can’t think of any way he could twist it into something bad, so eh guess he’d grant it too, why not
Dang so far only Gabo got his wish turned into a curse, let’s change that
Hal would wish to be a fearless acrobat, like those who pull some amazing stunts that defy physics and put their bodies to the extreme, yeah like that, she wished to do that for the fun and the freedom that it provides and to put a smile on people’s faces. Magnifico would go ahead and curse that wish to make Hal so “fearless” she doesn’t worry about her own limits, after all he’d indeed enjoy having an amazing acrobat as one of the royals entertainers, but where’s the fun if she requires time to rest or fears she might get injured? So yeah she’d get her wish slightly changed so she takes her passion more to the extreme
And finally, Dario. Dario is a complicated one since, the way I see him, he’s content with pretty much everything, aside from the fact his parents would like him to be able to speak, but even then I don’t think he’d wish for the king to give him a voice, as that’s not really something he wants, his friends already understand him, although most other people don’t. However, music is an universal language that brings joy to everyone, so Dario would wish to be a great drummer (even though drums sets didn’t exist back then lol maybe he’d be the first) and Magnifico would probably grant it as is.
I know in these examples Mag granted most of the wishes without changing them but keep in mind that’s still bad since once people have their wishes granted they feel like they owe loyalty to him and also feel more dependent on him.
Sorry for the LOOOONG answer, I got hit by the creativity lightning all of the sudden

Bad Dream
hey, remember this post? @skrimbe gave me an idea.

Summary: Copia regretting his plastic surgery decisions.
It’s on quiet nights like this that Copia lets himself get too absorbed in his thoughts. Everyone in the church settled in for the night and his daughters tucked safely into bed with a good night kiss.
He knows he well past the opportunity to regret his decision. Was it his decision though?
Copia tilts his head back and forth in front of the mirror to allow him to see a full view of his whole face. It had taken a while to get used to his new looks. Truth be told, he was still in the process of that, even a year later.
He’s never considered himself good looking. Passable at best and even that’s a stretch. But he had been fond of his features. They were his. Sure his sharp nose was compared to that of a rat’s but that was fine. Copia likes rats.
Now as he stares at his own reflection, he sees none of that. The nose is too small. The jawline is not as sharp. His Cardinal painted over his eyes in a mockery of his former self. It’s a cruel joke. On more than one occasion he regrets letting the clergy talk him into this. But he really wasn’t talked as much as forced, was he?
“It’s important for the church members to see someone that resembles their previous Papas.” They had said. “It ensures less confusion. It’s for your benefit.”
The words still leave a bad taste in his mouth. It was clearly nothing more than an example of the power they held, something he was slowly beginning to realize.
Copia lets out a defeated sigh as he pulls himself away from the mirror. He finishes removing the remaining face paint, avoiding his reflection like the plague. He drags himself from the bathroom. He just needs a good night’s sleep. That fixed this issue before.
It’s only when he’s sitting on the edge of his bed and sees the framed photo he has of his daughters on his nightstand that the dam breaks. They both look so much like him. Well, they used to look like him. The only feature the three of them have in common anymore is the white eye. A cruel reminder that they’ll have to live through this hell once they’re older too. It makes him feel sick.
Copia holds his head in his hands as he lets out a pathetic wail. Why couldn’t he have been more persistent in denying the clergy? Why did he have to be so weak that he was easily molded like clay in the hands of his holders.
“Papa?”
Copia panics. He wipes at his face frantically with the back of his hand and clears his voice in hopes of keeping the trembling out of it. ‘W-what are you doing up?” It doesn’t work and he settles for keeping his back to her. “You should be asleep.”
“Why are you sad?”
“I-I’m not.” He clears his throat another time as his voice cracks. “I’m just tired.” He can see her tiny figure from the corner of his eye and how she’s gotten closer. He’s a horrible liar, always has been.
“Then why are you crying?” She pulls herself up on the bed beside him. Copia feels her sad gaze on him and it makes him feel even more worthless. How pathetic does someone have to be to have a six year old feel sorry for them?
“My allergies are a-acting up. That’s all.” Copia knows he should scoop her up and carry her back to the room that adjoins his, but he doesn’t think he can do that without giving her a full blown look at his tear stained face. Something about letting her know just what he’s upset about makes him feel stupid. What kind of grown man cries because he and his kids don’t look alike?
“Did you have a bad dream?” And she’s just going to keep asking, isn’t she.
“I guess you could call it that.” Only he’s not waking up anytime soon from this one.
Copia feels her tiny hand pat his forearm and it’s only now that he realizes she’s holding the stuffed goat that he brought back from a ritual for her.
“This always helps me when I have bad dreams.” Athalaiah places the stuffed animal on his lap. “Maybe he’ll help you too.” She wraps her small arms around his and rests her cheek against his shoulder.
Copia hiccups louder than he’d like. “Yea, maybe he will.”

Long Post: HSMTMTS S1 re-watch: It’s crazy to think Rina changed the game for the writers on 105 because when you watch 101-104 it really makes you wonder if some directing choices are intentional or just came out, particularly from the actors acting choices and the rest just totally solidifies Rina's whole arc. For example:
Gina’s first entrance on the show is when Kourt mentions Ricky to Nini. She is at the back on her locker when Ricky enters the scene to talk to Nini. That’s an intentional framing. On 101, before reading the cast list, he is already looking at her from across the room. On 102, he looks breathless at Gina’s dance during rehearsals and there’s a moment he keeps looking at her even after she walks away. Same episode, their first talk at the stake park does feel like the tension and lingering gazes are intentional. Like you are meant to feel the tension. And you can hear Breaking Free playing from Gina's headphones.
On 105 it does feel odd how mad Ricky was about Gina going with EJ to the homecoming dance because wouldn’t that be good? That EJ isn’t on Nini’s orbit anymore? Even Gina questions him over why is he making her dating life his business and he didn’t know why. He definitely had a crush on Gina then. He had one conversation with her (skate park) and felt like they had a connection ("l thought we sort of got each other"). If you think about it, he internalized Troy and Gabriella's outsiders narrative onto them, which it’s pretty telling.
The whole confessional "Ricky intrigues me and I don’t get intrigued" and "Does she intimidates you? Can’t say she does" tells you they were going that road, at least Ricky having a crush on Gina early on and Josh was told to act this way around her, but it was ultimately the 105 car scene that changed the plans in terms of where the romance was going, not longer being a plot device but a slow burn. And mostly, Ricky stayed in the show for Gina. This is something non-Rina's never seem to put any importance into. Ricky joined the club for Nini but ultimately stayed because Gina's encouragement made him see his own worth (and that defining moment was on 102).
To me, next episodes were key and it throws away the argument that Ricky didn't have a crush on Gina or wasn't pursuing her romantically. Gina dropped her "plans" and Ricky stopped his active pursue of Nini right after homecoming. Each of them forgot what their initial motivation was. This is why the "second choice" argument falls void. Ricky could’ve continued his pursue of Nini especially because at this point he knows she’s not longer in a relationship with EJ but he wasn’t focused on her anymore and those episodes point that out. On 106, Big Red straight up asks him if something happened with Gina on Friday, to what he responds he isn’t sure [if it was romantic] and you can see them gazing at each other across the room (with Nini unbothered in the middle of them. Again, intentional framing).
It baffles me people were trying to make Rinas feel delusional for thinking Ricky had a crush on Gina when he was obvious on his intentions. Before the song, in this scene from 106, Gina was the only one to support his idea and right off the bat she could feel his distress over the possibility of the show getting cancelled. She tried to joke about it but softly changes the subject because she could read him. It points to the emotional connection they already share. After he literally sings to her, Ricky flirts with her and I feel like since Gina didn’t have much experience she didn’t know how to read the whole thing. It’s funny because after Ricky tells her she’s good at everything and says "I can’t forget about anything that happened at homecoming" you can see in his face that he is waiting for a reaction from her — one she doesn’t give him. The scene is pretty layered.
There’s this scene on 107 where Nini clearly flirts with him and he seems uncomfortable. Instead, he looks behind him to see if Gina is bothered by their interaction and goes to sit by her side afterwards. Does that seem like a guy that is desperate to go back to his ex girlfriend now that he is seeing the signals? No. Mind you, there’s a time jump (about a month) between 106-107. Enough for Gina to know where Ricky’s house was and how long it takes her to walk there. They probably spent a lot of time together and this might also be the time Ricky got to have Gina’s mom phone number.
On 107, Gina and Ricky's emotional connection is made clear again by them talking about change and Gina reading Ricky like a book. They both share a strong understanding of each other that gets later confirmed by them on season 2. They arrived at the party and Nini straight up notices their closeness and considers them a "we" and Ricky at this point is not trying to get back to Nini. He interacts with Gina in a way that feels like he is introducing a soon to be lover. He isn’t even trying to make Nini jealous. He isn’t even close to her at the party because his focus is on Gina. After that phone call with Gina and her mom, he can tell she is distressed so he walks off straight to the kitchen to gather her stuff so they can leave, together. Gina shuts him down and tells him not to call her anymore and the first thing he does is grab his stuff and leave the party. Nini tries to stop him but doesn’t get the reaction she expects. And important to notice how he includes Gina in all of the things that are making him distressed.
Gina tells Ricky not to text her anymore and that’s because she thinks there isn’t any point in them continuing whatever their relationship was since she’s leaving (not in those words, but the subtext was there) and he still sends her multiple texts that get unanswered. It again baffles me that some claim Ricky didn’t care about Gina leaving when he was distressed and was trying to be in contact with her. He even firmly claims Gina will be back and when Nini asks him if she texted him, he goes and anxiously asks her if Gina texted her. Nini makes the first move in telling Ricky to practice with her after rehearsals and funny enough, the almost kiss happens right after Gina texts Ricky she is leaving for good. It took Gina being removed from an episode and Ricky believing she was gone for Ricky and Nini to get closer after what was like more than one month.
Opening night makes it very clear that Gina and Ricky were pretty much left in the open. When Ricky waits for Gina backstage after she comes back he tells her "I wish…I don’t know what to say" and Gina tells him not to say anything. She also makes it clear she’s only back for one night only. Was he going to say "I wish I knew you were coming back?" Who knows. At this point Ricky had regressed back to who he was and his confessional during that scene tells you this. "Maybe I’m back to who I always was. I don’t know something is different". He is stating that there’s a before and after Gina for him. And notice how the Rina cue is playing during this scene — a cue that is a representation of Ricky’s feelings for Gina, not the other way.
You cannot say that if Ricky knew Gina was staying for real, he would’ve gotten back with Nini. There’s also a quote people don’t pay attention to and it’s when Gina asks him what happened since he dropped out of the show and he says "It’s a long story. I could ask you the same thing". It hints he isn’t okay with how things went down with her. Regardless, I’m glad he got back to Nini on season 1 because he needed to get through that process for growth.
Season 1 tells you the basics of their arc and why it took them so long to get together. It basically confirms that Nini represents the childhood Ricky is so afraid to let go of and Season 2 is actually really good at showcasing Ricky’s internal struggle with trying to suppress his feelings for Gina and pushing for something he knows has not future anymore. He wasn’t fighting for Nini but more like for things to stay stagnant because that’s his confront zone.
Ricky and Gina's dynamic on season 2 is brillantly acted by Josh and Sofia because is in the subtle moments and foreshadowing and if you as an audience are used to things being told to you — you would’ve never understood Ricky and Gina as a pairing. I might do one for season 2 when I finish the re-watch for S2.

I was underwhelmed by Arizona’s return. Love Arizona but yeah it could’ve been any doctor and nothing much would’ve changed since we got no updates on her life or no scenes with old friends other than Bailey. That was nice but I wanted more. The good was Mika, I love hers and Jules relationship but idk if they’ll actually invest in them since they kind of dropped Simone’s and Jules’s growing friendship and the idea of the entire group just hanging out at Meredith’s old house and being friendly a little too quickly. I understand that the interns are in trouble but I wish they’d kept the camaraderie and jokes because without the friendships it’s a regular boring medical drama. On the other hand, this episode made me realize that I as much as I like them, I really don’t care about Teddy Richard or Link. I really didn’t miss them or remember their storylines until the end especially Link he’s been kind of useless since Amelia dumped him, but I know they won’t get rid of him because that means getting rid of Scout. Too bad because he can go and take Jo and bring over Carina to be the rightful head OB she is instead of the invisible role she’s been playing for the past almost decade lol
Honestly? To me, even those moments with Bailey felt underwhelming. They are friends, the woman officiated her wedding for christ's sake... so why acting so damn formal? I guess it didn't help that they all went "world renowned blabla" (something that I already hardly buy when it comes to someone like Addison, for example), even though I do love her being amazing at her job. But you know... come on! Besides, her human side is what makes her a superstar. So yeah, some more of that would've been welcome for sure. Still, I did enjoy her being there.
I agree, it's a shame that the interns aren't that fun bunch anymore. A group like that could have a lot of potential, starting with simply being a fun watch. On the other hand, I'm having issues with Simone since pretty much the start (sorry, for some reason I just can't stand her) and by now I'm also very much done with Lucas' crying face (I bet they casted him for his droopy eyes, just to resemble Derek) and most of all his constant feeling sorry for himself - come on dude, you're a Shepherd, you're not any "less" (you're just an entitled brat who maybe simply isn't cut out to be a surgeon... you know, like 95% of the world). So I think I'm good, since them not being involved with the others only improve those scenes of the others by now.
Teddy's return was a disappointment (she was so much more interesting as Cristina's teacher and Henri's wife), but I do still like Link - though his best days were with Amelia.
Aren't Jo and Carina in the same field, but in different jobs/positions? Jo is a surgeon (now becoming an OB), while Carina is "just" a regular OB, as in not doing surgeries... right? Besides their exact titles/jobs though, I don't need everyone to be in charge. It's getting a bit old, as if job-wise there's nothing else to make a character more interesting. When Carina was introduced, she was doing her study (which we never heard of again). Now why not let her have some fun like that again? Anyone in for some crazy science, raise your hand! 🤪

Okay to preface: I’m a trans man and this is my opinion, and if you disagree or want to call me transphobic please go away and never come back and also look up the definition of “opinion” because it will help you.
I think Dean Winchester is trans and here’s why:
In the pilot episode we see a picture of young Dean, John, and young Sam, both wearing hats and plaid and sitting on the Impala. Dean is shown with shoulder length black hair and this is my first piece of evidence for trans!Dean.
Now, i know that boys can have long hair and I have seen plenty of little boys with long hair. Dean looks to be 12 in the picture, and both John and Sam have short hair. So we know they can afford haircuts (or are at least able to get them) and while Dean may have just styled his hair like this, i think that it was long because he wasn’t out yet.
The picture in question:
Tumblr media
The next picture i want to talk about is this one:
Tumblr media
Which shows us pre-series Dean also had longer hair but he looks much more masculine in this picture than in the previous one. This fake ID, along with a few others are more evidence for me. Dean has a fake drivers license where the sex reads female, and while thats probably a typo, we know that Dean and Sam’s fake IDs have been good enough to fool hundreds of people, so they have to be good fake IDs - meaning typos shouldn’t happen.
Also in the pilot episode, a cop asks Dean “you have anything that’s real?” And Dean jokingly replies “My boobs.”
And while i know that this line is intended as a joke, i also know that Dean uses humor to tell the truth sometimes. He will joke about something when he can’t talk seriously about it. We see examples of this all over season one, when Sam is grieving Jess. But as a trans person myself i also joke about my chest (to an extent, i personally dont like to bring attention to it), and it’s in Dean’s character to do that too. (I also want to mention that if i had just finished healing from top surgery and someone asked me that question i would probably say the same thing, just because its fun to finally say you dont have boobs anymore - and i also think dean got top surgery immediately pre-series, which is another reason for him to be away from John for so long and to have “lost” him)
During the three first seasons, we never see Dean’s naked chest - i believe there’s only one time in season 3 during Mystery Spot where we see his shoulder in the shower, but not his chest - which i think could be a way to hide top surgery scars. It’s only after he comes back to life in season 4 that we see his naked chest, where he’s confused by the absence of (hellhound) scars because Castiel healed him - also this could be a place where you could say Dean got bottom surgery, i.e., Castiel gave him a dick/fully functioning biologically male genitalia.
In season 4, the episode “Monster Movie” he says he’s been “re-hymenated” which is another joke, but also I don’t know of a single man who knows what a hymen actually is, much less a man who would actually say that to convey his virginity status.
Also the way the man dresses. I mean, he’s so hyper masculine that it feels like an extreme overcorrection. I did the same thing when i came out. He wears plaid, henleys, and jeans under big leather and army jackets. The man wears layers like he’s hiding three tits under there.
For the sex argument, all i have to say is toys (or the aforementioned holy bottom surgery). If Dean wants to fuck someone he can wear a strap on. Its not that difficult. We never see him naked below the waist so he could be wearing one, you dont know. Also does it matter what his genitals really look like? No. We never see them so its all just speculation.
I know dean isnt trans in canon because he’s fathered a child (Emma in season 7) and apparently the explanation of magic doesn’t explain how that can be possible between two biological women (eggs and uteruses).
Anyway. There are plenty of reasons that Dean can be trans. Sorry this was so long. I posted something similar to this and someone thought i was being transphobic i guess? So i wanted to try again with the added preface of “this is my opinion/headcanon and you dont have to think I’m right” to hopefully deter people from saying I’m being insensitive.
So yeah trans Dean, i love it and i wish the cw or any tv network had the guts to actually do that, even if the actor is cis, i dont care i just want a trans character. Thank you and good night
