i love your works so much how do you do your colorings for covers in fics? they look so good

thankyouuu !! here’s how i color the manga panels — using one app — picsart 😙

first: get your desired pic, go to picsart and start editing it.

second: at the bottom, you see a lot of buttons, such as ‘cut out’ ‘crop’ etc. what you’ll do is you’ll click on the button ‘FX’

third step: when you’ve clicked on ‘FX’, you’ll see a row of more options that you can choose of. choose ‘colors’

note. (look down below at the upper two pictures for visual representation of this)

fourth step: you can experiment with any of the options that appear on your screen! but, what i did, is i clicked on ‘Color Gradient’

fifth step: you can then experiment with the colors you want your cover to be and how you want the gradient to look. after choosing your colors, you can also play with the hue, saturation and fading if you would like!

sixth step: once your colors are chosen, you’ll see another row under the ‘fade’ button, that i’ve circled in the picture on the left (bottom two pictures). those are blending modes. you want to scroll past until you’ve got the mode ‘Lighten’.

note. that is what i personally like to use. you can use screen, overlay or whatever you think is best for your cover!

seventh step: after that, you can save the picture or you can go ahead and edit your picture some more. i like to add ‘blur’ — which is also in the ‘FX’ category.

eighth step: on the right picture, you see that i choose the first option ‘Blur’. play with the two buttons ‘Blur’ and ‘Fade’ that pop up to get the desired amount of blur.

ninth step: blend modes again. i choose ‘lighten’ as per usual, but you can also choose ‘overlay’ or whatever suits your tastes!

that’s it !! you can save your picture and voilaaaaaa - you have your own edited manga panel

you can't do it on mobile unless you go into browser, but it works the same in browser and on desktop. when you click "create a post," you click the little gear icon in the top right corner and select "HTML" where it says "text editor."

once you have HTML selected, you can put in the html format :) i have a code saved already and all you do before each text is input <span style="color: #(insert hex here)"> and then you put </span> at the end to close it :)♡

i just have the code saved into my clipboard so it's easy to just copy and paste each time! to find a hex code, you can just Google things like "pastel pink hex code" or find a color swatch and just scroll through it to find a hex that you like.

simply: the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. there are different types:

Cognitive: the ability to understand/guess how someone feels and what they may be thinking

Emotional: the ability to share the feelings of another ("I feel sad because you feel sad")

empathy usually gets confused with sympathy (feeling/being concerned about someone - "damn that sucks, I'm sorry that happened") and compassion (wanting to or feeling the need to help - "I got you your favorite snack to cheer you up! Is there anything else I can do?")

You can drop into the Gary+Efnisien tier for one month, download/read the novel and then drop back down to Augus+Gwyn as soon as you like after that!

There's no minimum number of months necessary.

If you were wanting to budget for it, you might want to upgrade (and downgrade) in February, so it's just that one month, because if you do it on January 31st and there's any time-zone weirdness, you might end up being charged for both months at the higher rate depending on the payment processors. (It also gives you time to check the book and tier out without feeling like you only have a day to do it in)

i think anything fork related could be a great emails inside joke for obvious reasons (how many things, my beloved), for almost love you could bring back "push all the lemons" from everyone mishearing that lyric jsgnjslkgjlkgj and similarly from why you could reference the "what's a kilo?" chant we used to do (i miss why on the setlist sm)

im sure including other old songs from old albums would be loved by older carpenters/long time stans, or even referencing alone together (track 11 in my heart) or smoke and fire (my beloved) like the non album singles that sometimes dont get mentioned as often could be a cool throwback!

you could also reference something like from the feather music video (for example) like the caskets saying "rip bitch" or the photo that said "he was just ok" on the tombstone

ohhhh its been, what, 3 years since i was last in uni for my teaching pgce!

i'd say, enjoy fresher's week (in england that's what that 1st week is called) - and explore the area both in and around the campus, so that you're comfortable with it and know where to go for what you need/how long it'll take to go from place A to B. i also took time out to find out about the transport sevices nearby (train stations, buses etc) and supermarkets too. also, during that week, i'd make sure all my logins/my id card/library card etc were up and running and functioning properly - every year i did this, bc that would alwaaays be a problem for someone or the other in my class.

don't overly panic about the workload. i used to set aside one day for each unit of my course, and study through my notes and the lectures in it. don't rewrite your notes either - i did, and it was a waste of time and energy and paper. just add to them, when you do do independent study.

i know we weren't allowed to do this, but sometimes, i used to sneakily record my lectures on my phone if i felt like i was going to struggle with a particular topic in that lecture (nobody needed to know i was doing that so yaaa 🤫🤫🤫). i'd go home, listen through it during independent study, and it helped me a lot! then of course i'd delete the recording.

prepare for your assignments well in advance. usually, in the 1st few weeks, professors lay out what the overview of the unit will look like and when assignments will be collected in. so, just make a note of them all in your diary/planner and get started on them atleast 4-6 weeks before deadline.

know what format of citation your university uses, and familiarise yourself with it. for my assignments, the best thing i did was having a word document and putting every source i came across and researched into it during my planning/research stage of the assignment (that's usually 5 weeks before deadline day - i'd have a whole week just dedicated to research), and i'd just cite it there and then as i collected my sources. it saved so much time at the end bc i wasn't in a panic, to the point where i didnt even need to use citation softwares bc i would do them by hand and memory.

obviously, do the basics - enjoy yourself, and remember that it is only your first year. don't work yourself up into a state. look after yourself and eat and sleep and get some fresh air!! go out and have fun and explore the place! i was in manchester for university for 7 years (bc i did my undergrad and postgrad there) and even though i knew the place already bc i live so near to it, still, explore explore explore! if you are going to be working and studying at the same time, please please please look after yourself!

and i think personally, for me, ever since i started uni, i've changed what my entire day looks like and i've clung onto that habit ever since - of waking up early. it was super hard to begin with, making myself get up at 7am everyday (sometimes even 6am), but i got so much done and the day is so much longer and you get time for yourself! its not an easy habit, but, give it a try - wake up early if you can, and see how you feel. i hated it at first, but now? i love it!

so yeah!! enjoy yourself, anon! uni can feel daunting, but i promise you, once you find your footing, you'll really enjoy it!

That was Miriam's doing! Kind of! She was the final piece.

I'll try to explain the thought process and I'm going to get wordy about it so I apologize!

So, once Jesse broke in training, he settled into a bit of hopelessness regarding his ability to do anything about the pain. The pain was endless unless Master wanted it to end and he would allow himself to be pushed to the point of dying even, if his master never let him down. In order to do this, he would allow himself to slip away into his mind and his body would simply have to endure. There was no choice anymore.

But, he was never good at holding position once someone pulled him back out of his mind and into the present.

Sinclair was actually a good fit for him because he never attempted to engage with Jesse. He used the palette and put it away after. Jesse could slip away and disassociate from the pain and the hours upon hours of immobility.

Right up until he was pulled back into reality and knew the painting was finished and began to have hope that the pain was soon over. Then he'd lose control. His body would shake and writhe and he'd suddenly feel everything while he was cleaned and put back in the closet.

Miriam basically pulled Jesse out before it was time. He still had many hours to endure AND she gave him hope that this pain not only going to end but that his master was coming soon. He was dropped back into his body and couldn't slip away again.

Also, Mark, his Master, didn't want him to be there. His Master was not ordering him to hold position but had told him to fight. All of this anchored Jesse into his body.

He became much more aware of the suffering that Jesse, as a palette, had endured and might have to continue to endure. Mark gave him a taste of what life without being used as a palette could look like and Miriam gave him hope of it all ending in a time when his body was shattering. This gave that fleeting thought of "I don't want this anymore" a ton of emotional salience and solidified it into his mind.

So basically, Jesse had given up his hope in order to save his own mind and, now he has hope again and can't go back.

Hello!! Yes I do! I've shipped to the UK before and haven't had any issues with that so far. Etsy calculates the VAT fee at checkout, and I make sure the package has all the info on it that customs needs, so aside from that I assume you shouldn't have to pay any surprise fees? That being said I'm not an expert in how UK customs works and I don't get notified if extra charges do get added on, but I haven't had any issues with previous buyers!

this is a poster i made for my call to action assignment in humanities! it's a bunch of basic and easy stretches for people who sit and work at a desk all day (me)

the idea is that you'd put the poster up above ur desk and do the stretches every 30 minutes or so,, the whole routine won't take more than about 6 minutes to complete and when done regularly it can prevent wrist, shoulder, neck and back pain! :)

all these stretches can be done while sitting (although i HIGHLY recommend you stand up and move around while taking a break from working)

When Senshi was young in the dungeon the majority of the adults he were with ostracized him. All except Gillin, who died to make sure Senshi had something to eat: unseasoned boiled meat that may or may not have been one of their comrades.

It really puts into perspective why he was so nurturing towards Chilchuck. When Chil reveals he’s 28 to the party, Senshi responds by telling him that he thought he was older. Senshi was in his 30s when he and his comrades got trapped in the dungeon, so it’s safe to assume that he thought Chil was at a similar age.

He met a young boy who was, from his perspective, forced to do dangerous work in the dungeon just like he was, and so, Senshi made an effort to look after Chilchuck in the same way Gillin looked after him.

Mind you, when Senshi was young in the dungeon he had to starve for weeks, eat the horse he loved, and finish it off spending the next i don’t know how many years wondering if he committed cannibalism.

Senshi understands first hand the value of nutrition and proper eating, so when he’s with the party he makes an effort to make sure they’re all eating a full and balanced diet. Not only that, but Senshi INVOLVES them in the process of getting food to eat, always preparing it in front of them and narrating every ingredient in the process so that there’s no doubt about what they’re eating.

I decided to start this campaign with all the hope that you could support me in evacuating Gaza to do surgery for me and my daughter and start a fresh life with my 5 kids out of the ongoing genocide in Gaza [...] I was supposed to go out at the end of 2023 to have surgery on my knees but since 7 October, I had no chance due to the procedures on Rafah crossing, the gate of Gazans to the world. Now, my knees and elbows are bleeding with no access to any type of care and if things stand as they are in Gaza, I won’t be able to walk or make any effort because of the bleeding (currently I am barely able to set up a small fire in front of the tent to prepare food for my kids).

there has been more moments than i can count in the past seven months where i felt destroyed by all the death and carnage i've seen due to the colonialism and imperialism of the world. but there was something in particular about hind's death that made me think the world would stop turning bc how could anything continue given how gruesome and inhumane her death was? and yet, the world did not stop. and i thought we were once again left to remember her story only in our minds as she became another number, as her murderers went on killing unpunished, and as her mother grieved with rage when all she wanted was to keep her daughter warm and as safe as she could manage in this man-made hell on earth.

however, hind, a girl who only got to experience her kindergarten graduation, is now being immortalized in universities across the nation. her story did resonate to the masses and we will not let her be forgotten nor forgive those complicit in her death. real justice would be having hind alive, but these students are showing that they will stop the world and burn the status quo it upholds to the ground if it means her people can truly be liberated.
