You know, when you talk like that, I almost believe you.

I’ve always thought that in his lowest moments in S6, Thomas might recall what Edward said to him when they first met:

“It doesn’t help me to be lied to, you know. I’m finished. And I’d rather face it than dodge it.”

Then he did what Edward once did to himself. Because (he thought) he realised all the time he’s been lying to himself about how life would become better one day and the world could not defeat him. He might be wrong all along. Too wrong about the reality of the world and of himself.

So eventually he stopped believing anymore. Just as Edward never did.

Not even for him.

i have yet to watch unknown but from the spoilers i see, i think the difference between yuan of four years ago and four years now is so apparent that it's beautifully and subtly portrayed, especially in that scene where yuan and qian are in the car. i think yuan now knows where to push and pull himself whenever he's with qian? he now has control over the situation—over qian—and i think it's so... intimate and heartbreaking.

i noticed he had quite a 'brash' approach when he was younger, probably to insinuate his immaturity. driven solely by feelings and not logic. but now, he's more composed. he knows what cards to play, and that drives qian mad. i can see the growing desire in qian to have that—to have everything yuan is giving. but i guess there's always going to be this underlying hesitancy and uncertainty that he can't put into words—the unknown. yet i think the near-death experience is a potent turning point in qian's life. the fear of losing yuan forever surpasses the fear of the unknown.

i guess this is qian's sign to finally accept that he had crossed the line between brothers long ago, and his feelings for yuan are now known.

Was gonna watch a movie before bed but saw my friends playing Minecraft and decided to join "for a bit", to clear my head.

every time i express my extreme confusion that people romance gale beegee3 by saying something like "you could walk into literally any arty british university's english literature course and find a guy with a weird relationship with religion, a terrible ex-girlfriend, cats, and a pile of books why are they pretending those are good qualities" my so called 'friends' point out that I have an MA in literature and culture from goldsmiths, own two cats, have an abusive ex-gf, saw "nun" as a viable career plan ages 14-16, and regularly fall asleep with like ten books next to me.

anyway, i'm still beating the gale allegations bc gale pulls absolute tens and i'm tucked up in bed on valentines day with a sleeve of custard creams reading my third translation of beowulf in 3 weeks.
