Dating Headcanons ft. Uramichi Omota & Mitsuo Kumatani

cat’s note: sorry this took me so long, anon. i suck at writing headcanons for some reason lmao

Uramichi

you met Uramichi when he came into the digital planning department after being sent to invite you to a work party.

You were talking (arguing) with Kikaku about some new toy design when he walks in, though the conversation continues

Uramichi is surprised when you get Kikaku to retreat and stop his yelling. Uramichi is intimidated by you, and yet he finds himself drawn to you at the same time

After talking to you he realizes you’re actually a very kind person. You just don’t take Kikaku’s shit and he respects you for it

He seeks you out at the work party and spends the entire evening talking to you. You’re so drawn to each other and find it super easy to have a conversation last hours and you were both sad when the party comes to an end

He surprises himself when the words “would you like to get dinner sometime” leave his mouth. But he’s even more surprised when you say yes. The rest is history

Despite what some may think, he’s not great at communication.

He’s been so used to handling his own problems that it doesn’t really occur to him that he should talk them through with you.

But, all you have to do is bring it up once for him to realize his mistake and correct it. It’s a bad habit, and it’ll take some time to break it, but he does his best because he wants to be the best for you.

Just because you’re dating doesn’t mean his depressive episodes will go away. He’ll have his days when all he wants to do is curl into bed and hide away from the world.

On these days, be patient with him. Give him his space but remind him that you will always be there for him

He’s for sure very playful with you. With other’s, he often comes off as quiet and closed off. But around you, he’s smiling, laughing, actually enjoying himself.

He’s a bit touch starved. Between his childhood and his unsuccessful love life up to this point, he’s never received much physical affection.

Because of this, he’s attached to your hip almost constantly. He’s always touching you in some way, whether it be his arms wrapped around your waist or your pinkies interlocked.

He’s not very big on pda though. He much prefers to leave his physical affection at the house. unless no one’s looking lol

You take a lot of evening walks. The quiet street, the cool night air, and his warm hand wrapped around yours. Yep, those are your favorite.

He’s the type that enjoys cuddling on the couch. Whether you’re watching a movie or sitting in silence, he doesn’t care. he’s with you, that’s all that he needs.

Mitsuo

You met him at the store when buying cat food

You were mumbling to yourself, trying to decide if you should get chicken or shrimp when Mitsuo walks up beside you to pick something up

He overheard you talking to yourself and ended up suggesting a food brand, which ultimately led you to talk about your new cat and show him pictures, which he thoroughly enjoyed

After that, you would bump into each other in the pet section every now and then until one day he just blatantly asks you out

He loves to take you fishing. Even though he’s the one who puts the bait on the hook and takes the fish off cause it grosses you out

No one does emotional support like Mitsuo. Anytime you’re upset about something, he’s right there beside you with his arsenal of things that he knows will make you feel better

There is absolutely no hiding your feelings from him. He’s perceptive, and when your mood shifts even a little, he notices. And there’s no point in lying or brushing it off. He knows, and you know he knows

He’s actually amazing at communication. He knows when to speak and when to let things be. And while he typically doesn’t speak on things, it’s different with your relationship. He knows how crucial it is and he doesn’t disregard it.

He’s mild when it comes to physical affection. He likes to cuddle, but it if starts to get too hot, he’s the first to untangle himself from you lol

When he makes out with you though? whew

He doesn’t mind pda, but he’s not super obvious about it. he’ll hold your hand around others just fine. but expect him to steal kisses the moment people look away

Despite being a usually quiet and reserved person, he’s very open around you, especially in private

You are required to watch every man-eating salmon movie at least once lol

Speaking of man-eating salmon, it makes him laugh. It’s one of the few things that makes him genuinely chuckle like a goofball. His laugh sounds like heaven

You two definitely start fostering cats. It accidentally started with 1, and then it turned into 3, and then into 5

You’ll go back and forth on the pros and cons of possible adopters, which will sometimes turn into silly, unserious arguments lol

Are there any cute moments in Jerry and Rick's relationship? And if there is, which ones?

this depends on what we determine as cute here.

i picture, that a lot of like ‘sweet’ things between them are always hidden in plain sight, but they’re all very small and prob insignificant for anyone, but them. like idk. rick helping jer to fix his car is kinda cute for me (happened in canon). or jer baking smth special for rick, specifically. an old recipe and whatnot. then, rick remembering jer’s favorite song, or even perhaps, remembering his favorite part/lyrics, to the point, where he can quote it. or smth like, rick not switching a chanell, bc there is that one movie, that jer loves and it’s on.

and ah, on more grounded level (pun fully intended), jerry picking rick from the floor, when he’s too hammered to even move. listening to him ramble, while he forcefully hauls him to his room and helps him to undress. and i do think, that sometimes, rick in that like borderline delirious state, when he clings to jer and tells him, that he’s sorry and that this or the other thing just happened, and jerry not always, if ever, knows what he talks about. or what he means. but he never brings it up in the morning, or at all. bc it feels personal. and they do keep one another’s secrets. so that’s cute for me too. nothing more intimate, than burying that kind of hatchet together. esp if it’s the most honest, intense sort of confession or an apology. even if it was addressed to no one in particular. or to him, maybe? sometimes? mmm…

rick isn't the sort of person, who can be ‘happy’ easily. he always overthinks everything. and he always has some sort of reason why smth sucks. but jerry is kinda the opposite, he doesn’t seem to focus on negativity too much. mostly, bc it would crush him the second he did. it’s way more simple for jer to find smth to entertain himself with and rick would eventually want to be part of it, even if mostly out of pettiness. they would go to pick some cheap decorations for christmas in walmart as whole fam, but eventually it’ll be just rick and jer arguing over smth dumb lol. i mean, i do find their bickering endearing in a way. they’re like an old married couple. i always kinda refer to jer as rick’s second wife in the back of my mind. just makes sense to me!

and, while rick can always take jer someplace nice, i feel like they do find a lot of comfort in domestic earthy setting. maybe, it has smth to do with their odd psychological fetish for family play. rick having a beer, and jerry cleaning the house, bc he’s jobless or bc betch vet mcg is too drunk or smth. but rick & jer used to one another’s habits, they would know the exact place the other person’s stuff is lying at, but i do think, that they would mess with it on purpose. just to let each other know, that they touched it lol.

or jerry would leave rick some aspirin and water, when he has a hangover. and also leave rick notes on the fridge, and most of them be typed out, printed lol. and this is just how rick can already tell, it’s jerry’s note. so oddly pedantic for no reason, haha. but maybe, jer started doing it, bc rick always complains how he can’t make out anyone’s handwriting. he’s drunk like 78% of the time, and the rest, he’s hangover or high. can see how it’ll be hard for him to read. what i’m trying to say, that rick & jer’s co-existing can be cute on its own. i don’t think, that they argue as much as the series makes it out to be. at least, i don’t think, that it’s always that loaded and bitter.

and to think about it, in canon there are also places for glimpses of rick doing smth just to be nice to jer. like erasing his memories, even making it so retro style, bc jer would understand it easier. and it suits him more. watching a tv with him, when they’re both down and don’t feel like talking about anything. making a whole playground for jerry, taking in account things, that he likes. making it 100% safe too. sewing jer a pair of pants, prob already knowing his exact size of hips and height lol. opening jars for him, bc jerry’s noodle arms are pretty thin and useless.

maybe some folks look for always big events to call cute or important, but ah, the devil always in the details. a lot of 'big' gestures in the end don't save the drive, and the emotion that lead to making them can differ. but here? they have smth to reflect on and to return to.

and is it kew/q?? i was re-reading the character bios for all of the new cast again, and it looks like he’s the observant/perceptive one of oh-aew’s friend group (which would explain why it seems like he’s trying to comfort/reassure oh-aew in the trailer). i think it’s still too early to tell if there’ll be a love triangle between any of them. like he could very well just be a nice friend. i DO get the feeling that at some point in the story teh and oh-aew will break up/go on a break, so they COULD go down that route? i haaate love triangles (which i know i’ve said on here before haha), but the ones in itsay were some of the only love triangles that i’ve ever actually liked (which was all thanks to how well written the characters and their relationships with one another were), so i have faith that if there are any of them in ipytm, they’ll be just as well written. and it’ll be all part of the self-discovery process for the both of them since this is the prime age for them to be finding themselves (esp now that they’re in a big city like bangkok).

tbh if anything, it was oab’s character (jai) that i was getting more of those ~vibes from...but that could all purely be editing and bc nadao wanted to put more of him in the trailer...and we all know how they like to mess with us 😭

okay speaking of main character love stories, LITERALLY one of my friends is so pretty and nice that she has been stopped at school irl by strangers who wanted to give her their numbers seVERAL times. she talked about boba with a cute group project partner to break the ice and then he took her to his fav boba places. she once went to a club event for her friend and a guy in the club kept inviting her back even though she wasn't a member before eventually asking her out. a guy who worked at a cafe she went to during work breaks would flirt with her and give her discounts and extras with her order and she wanted to get his number but then her shifts changed and she never saw him again. she once went to a bakery and the cashier wrote on the receipt that she was pretty and she would have gone back bc she thought he was cute but she was on a trip so she couldn't. i knew some of these guys too and they were actually decent people??? things didn't work out w any of them long term for legit reasons but they all ended on decent terms and?? HOW WAS YOUR CONCERT EXPERIENCE JESS?!?!?!

OH. MY. GOD. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! I felt so many emotions (which was totally expected but it’s still hard to process you know), and I’m still not recovered of course 😭😭😭😩😩😩. So I went to the Chicago concert day 1 with 4 of my other friends who all flew in from NYC and SF and we were on the second level so not super close but not as far as I thought it would be. I could actually see the members pretty well on the extended stage, and god were they beautiful. They danced with so much energy, and I can’t even describe how clear and stable their vocals were. We all cried during Truth Untold and Epiphany (Jin’s high note was breathtaking). Namjoon was so charming during his talks, and you could tell he really likes Chicago. He and Tae went to the aquarium that day, and I seriously missed them by a hair because my friends and I were actually planning on going to the aquarium but decided to go to the art institute instead…oh well *sigh*. Hobi and Yoongi’s stages were so hype, and let’s just say my Jimin biased friend did not survive Serendipity LOL.  I literally froze during Euphoria because JK just has that effect on me and my friend had to punch me back into reality, it was UNREAL. I also collapsed on the floor when he lifted his shirt during Fake Love lmao I was so into the fan chants I FORGOT THAT PART EXISTED??? And then it just slapped me in the face, like who tf allowed him to lift it that high?!?!? And during the ending speech, Idk if I’m just hallucinating or overthinking or just insane but Jungkook was looking in my direction the entire time. I seriously felt like I was making eye contact with him like kill me now omfg. But yeah, I probably wasn’t in the right state of mind so it could’ve just been an illusion LOL. But then again, my friend did say he was looking at us afterwards when I brought it up. Overall, I had a GREAT time and now I’m super sad that it’s over T_T I’m coping a lot better than when I saw them at Wings because that was my first concert, and I just didn’t know what to expect (plus I spent too much time looking at the screen because I wanted to see their faces clearly….this time I mostly looked at them and they felt more real? If that makes sense?). I’m so emotional rn, but I’ll prob be ok soon haha 🤧 Thank you for stopping by and asking 💕💕💕 And sorry for the long rant lol

Matssun looks intimidating but he’s really just an idiot + funny person!! He would be a big tease, will initiate PDA but will get really bashful when you try to do it. Matssun is funny and will always pull pranks on you with Makki, and you could turn into a prankster yourself (heh) Although Matssun isn’t big fan of reading or classical music and it shows, maybe it’s good to date your polar opposite (he’d be a Gryffindor) he’s not loud but he can be if he wants. Occasionally you may find him being loud around you (he likes attention from his S/O) but you will grow to love that side of him! Matssun usually shows that he cares by joking around (he just wants you to smile) but he’s quite the observant one so he wouldn’t go too far with his jokes. He’s very clear about boundaries. Matssun is generally a very good natured and fun person to be around, he’s great at supporting people, he knows how to pull your confidence levels up, and will give amazing advice. He’s also amazing at encouragement (although he shows it in his own unique way). Plus, he’s also very good at dealing with blunt comments so he won’t be offended easily, would probably know how to talk back when you offer him a blunt statement.
