Beast Wars: Can’t sleep
(On the first night on Earth, Cheetor can’t sleep. Optimus notices and talks to him.)
Cheetor walked around the base. The moonlight dimly illuninating the halls of the ship. Cheetor stood outside and reached up, grabbing a branch. It snapped under his grip. He was inspecting it when there was another sound of a branch breaking.
“Who’s there?” He asked, turning around quickly. He tried to hide his sigh of relief when he saw Optimus walking towards him. “You know, you shouldn’t sneak up on people.”
“I apologize if I startled you.” Optimus said. “I thought you would be recharging, but then I noticed you leaving the ship.”
“I’m sorry I left without your permission, Boss Bot. I promise, I wasn’t going far.” He said.
“I’m not angry at you, Cheetor.” Optimus said, “I simply wanted to ensure that everything was alright.”
“Why wouldn’t it be? I mean, sure we’re stuck here for a bit, but this planet is really cool and we did sign up to explore.” Cheetor said quickly.
Optimus said nothing for a few minutes. He took the time to look around the unfamilier sights. “It’s rare to find an organic world.”
“I guess so.” Cheetor said. He looked at Optimus as though trying to guess what Optimus was trying to say. He fidgeted as Optimus wasn’t saying anything. “Does it bother you? Things being so strange, I mean.”
“I can see why it would. I suppose that a world like Cybertron would be unsettling for an organic being as well though.” Optimus replied. “What do you think of it?”
“I’m an explorer, I don’t get nervous just because things don’t look like home.” Cheetor said quickly.
“You must be a tougher explorer than I was my first time spending long an a world that was this different from home.” Optimus breathed out.
“What do you mean?” Cheetor asked.
“I went though a bit of time where I didn’t want to leave the ship at all. The way I saw it, the ship was a source of security, the only thing familier.” He said. “Of course I did. I followed all the orders and acted like everything was fine.”
Cheetor laughed. “I’m sorry, I can’t imagine you being nervous on a new planet.”
Optimus nodded. “Everyone here is. It’s perfectly natural. We’ll get though it as a team.”
Cheetor looked out, he could barely make out the unfamilier surroundings. “You know, I can’t wait to get home, but I don’t think this place will be half-bad.”
“I feel the same way.” Optimus agreed.
“You won’t tell Rattrap about this, right?” Cheetor asked.
“Your secret’s safe with me.” Optimus agreed. “I should get back inside for some recharge.”
“I guess I should to, I just want to stay out here a little longer.” Cheetor replied.
“Alright, don’t stay out too late.” Optimus said with a smile. Cheetor nodded in reply as Optimus entered the ship.

The Main Characters
Maud - it's old German and means battle mighty or mighty female warrior
Amon - well, it can have various meanings. Coming from old Egyptian it can mean hidden one; the Hebrew meaning is teacher, builder or wealthy protector
Meir - it's of Hebrew origin and means "the one who shines/illuninates" or "bright one", sometimes even translated as bringer of light (but this sounds as a far stretch)
Feyre - actually old English and means fair/beautiful (and yes I just stumbled over this YA novel series I never heard of before thanks to the name because I don't read much YA)
Iskra - it means spark and comes from the Slavic area, some sources claim Bulagarian roots, other Polish, some general Slavic. It is a bit chaotic.
Saylah - it's a spelling variation of Saila which is Arabic and means sunshin and dwelling in the mountains.
The reoccurring and important side characters
Kaladin - ok, this a made up name that came to be through some fantasy books and kinda became famous and apparently means born onto eternity.
Mavis - in old French it means songbird or joy
Fealynn - it is Celtic and means fairy of the lake (said character is an elf, ironically)
Kellen - one of those names again, that can mean a lot. The Irish reading would translate it as slender or tiny/little one, where the African (why the heck can't those name sites not be more specific here?) gives it the meaning of powerful
Rhya - is actually the name of a Hindu goddess of fertility and pregnant women.
Melian - another fictional name, this time it's Sindarin the elven language Tolkien invented, and means beloved. (I love the irony of the name and Melian's position in the world of my WIP)

"Most of the time people come into consciousness by having an oppositional Force, because of something they've done incorrectly or something they've been holding on to that causes them to build a resistance or blockage; disruption. Wicked is awake because its eyes have been forced. Therefore to know, is to know that I am wicked ensnared with desire, lust, and flaw. This imperfection is my perfect design, because through this flaw, I find a trapdoor back to myself. It is through the gate of death and the doors of corruption that I forge myself a holy man. So all really must be one, as this original sin or the sin of knowing by sinning is enternal return and a self generated cycle through ignorance one finds knowledge. It's true that I didn't get into this place of knowing by being holy. It was by narcissism, wickedness, and corruption that I found consciousness; myself crucified, so by no means does it make a man holy but it can make a sinner into a whole man or a man whole. Opinion and perception, are the tricksters misleading and guiding us incorrectly, and snaring us, trapping us to fall into ignorance by thinking we already understand. Through the flaw I am forced to remember that this flaw is still holy, as consciousness is a temporal paradox. In a way the higher self kills the lower self so that it can be saved; paradoxical is its nature."

I don't know what the main consensus on Onward is yet, but I really the idea of the premise, I just wish the main character wasn't so... bland looking? I mean he looks more like a teenage character for Illumination/ Dreamworks/Sony not a Pixar main character.

Stormy Nights
a short Loki x reader imagine...
Raindrops drummed relentless against the all-window-front of the Tower. It was an unusual dark night in an elswise gleaming city. Just the occasional lightning strikes scourged the overcast sky.
Wrapping your arms tighter around your upper body was a last attempt to keep the warmth close wich got sucked out faster and faster of your sleepdeprived body. A fibrous lightning strike illuninated you for a split second before a loud peal of thunder made you flinch. The waft of crisp ice and a decadent cedar scent mixed with a hint of leather playfully invaded your senses when simultaneously a big, warm hand curled itself around your neck. This hand guided you against a hard yet welcoming chest...away from the window front into the shelter of strong arms.
A chin came to rest ontop of your head. The sound of a quiet but strong voice in a timbre that made you shudder reached your ears.
"You are safe with me, pet."
The arm around your body tightened a little and made yours glide around a lean waist. The hand on your neck caressed your soft skin.
"There is no need to be scared. But if you still are...look into my eyes an hold on a little tighter. I am not going anywhere."
With a soft tug on the hair in the nape of you neck he tilted your head upwards. Towards his. An intense gaze hit you like one of the lightning strikes.
"From this day forward you shall not walk alone."
His thumb grazed your lips. Opening them slightly while his eyes darted back and forth from your eyes to your mouth.
"My solemn heart will be your shelter...." His head inched closer with every breathy word. Then his nose played along yours. "....And my arms will be your home." Firm but unbelievably soft lips found yours in a sweet yet deeply intoxicating kiss.
You were lost and found. Scared but safe....
And madly, deeply truly loved and in love with the man that kept you in his arms through every storm in your live.

The only thing illuninating the dark, expensive looking bedroom was the light of a phone, and the ocasional lightining that struck the midnight Sky,clouded And dark.
The big Windows moved with the unforgiving air of the outside, the city below bustling with loud and obnoxious life, unaware of a Man hiding, tormented by his own doubts And issues.
Ace sighed under the light Teal fluffy covers, refreshing his Instagram page,to be met with the same posts.
Red puffy eyes close, his forehead meeting the comfy pillow.
A broken sigh scaped his mouthas he gripped his phone.
He suddenly feels a hand softly caressing his back over the blankets.
He looks up and is met with gentle green eyes that look at him worried.
In their lap a fancy tray with equally fancy cuttlery, two teacups,a porcelain kettle and pastries.
--Are you okay?--they asked as ace sat up covering his face with his unicorn onsies hood.
--Ah jerico...I didnt mean to bother you..--he said hugging his partner.
--You dont bother me havard...i want to make sure youre okay, i heard you sobbing and I got worried...--jeri hands him a Cup of tea,sitting on his lap.
The Man took a sip of the warm tea, and kissed jeris cheek.
--What is It?--they asked.
Ace looked away--im never enough...am I?Im always trying to be perfect...and i never get it right!
Jericos brows furrowed as lighting struck the Sky mercilessly.
--Oh havi...--they said cupping their fiancés cheek.--you cant be perfect...theres no such thing as perfect...youre you,and thats fine...youre beautiful being yourself...youre brave, altruisitc and so so handsome...you make my life easier...
Ace smiled softly and kissed them, hugging them tightly with his teacup resting on the tray.
His hand goes to the back of their neck as they pull him closer.
They part lips , panting and foreheads pressing togheter.
--Thank you...--havard said-- I love you...
Jeri smiled kissing the tip of his nose, and his forehead--i love you too.
Ace took a photo of what jerico brought him, and uploaded it with the caption "babes taking care of me"
When they finished eating they went to bed, jeri resting ontop of the Mans chest, who hugged their waist.
They press a kiss to his jaw and then smiles as havard purss.

The Man closed his eyes with a smile, thinking of ways to repay his loved one for all the good things they had done for him.

Apologies if this is too broad a question, but how did medieval literature get written and circulate publicly before mass literacy or printing presses?
Good question!
Depends on the era you’re talking about, but from the fall of Rome through to the High Middle Ages, books were manufactured by monks, because of the high value that the monastic tradition placed on the act of reading and the need for copies of religious texts for missionary work.
Monks working as scribes would copy out books in an assembly-line style process that were housed in specialized offices in the monastery called scriptoria: you had copyists who did more ordinary writing, you had calligraphers whose high skill was reserved for more significant texts, you had rubricators who did the fancy colored text (usually red) which was used to indicate new sections or new sentences in the text, you had illuminators who did the very detailed illustrations, and you had correctors whose job it was to edit the text and make sure that there weren’t any copying errors from the original.
This method of production meant that books didn’t really circulate as such - indeed, they were so valuable that they were usually chained down to prevent theft - because you needed to keep the original copy on hand so that you could keep copying it. So rather, you had a slow accretion of books as the new home of the copy could then start manufacturing its own copies, like a very slow-motion chain letter.
And then something really interesting started to happen outside of the monasteries…
See, the growth of the medieval university meant that there was a new source of demand for books - professors needed them to lecture (since lecturing often consisted of reading out loud from texts) and students needed them to study for exams - and a new population of literate people who needed to make a living off their newly-acquired skill sets.
And so was born a secular book-making industry, organized through stationers guilds. Clustered around university cities, these guilds started to introduce further innovations on the monastic assembly line:
First, they started producing books in parts called peciae; this allowed the scriveners to focus on producing many copies of that one section at the same time, rather than making one copy of the whole manuscript at a time.
Second, they expanded horizontally, breaking from the tradition of one scribe per book to having multiple copyists all working on the same text (and the same section of the same text) at the same time.
Third, they outsourced. In addition to selling peciae outright, they also rented them to professors and students with the understanding that these sections would be copied, either by their customers themselves or by a scribe the customer hired.
Fourth, they lowered quality standards a little. Rather than waiting until the finished text was perfectly copied and illuninated, stationers would sell or rent what we might call “early galleys” to customers who cared more about getting their books now than on how fancy they were, and only later would they go back and do the correcting, illuminating, etc. for their high-end clients.
As you can see from the chart above, over time this system tripled the production of books in Europe, even before Johannes Gutenberg came along with the printing press.
