So the first 20 pages of the FNAF movie novelization came out (full thing releases December 26) and here are some fun bits from it!

-The Security Guard's name who dies another beginning is named Bob

-It kept in the scene where the security guard is dragged down the hallway which was cut from the film, which means other deleted scenes could be seen later

-Mike is 25

-Mike is also 5'6, even though Josh is 5'5, which means that Mike wears heels.

-Mike is completely oblivious to the fact that Cindy (the ice cream girl) likes him.

-Mike went on a date when he was in high school and the girl said his eyes were 'intense'

-Mike didn't get to go to college

-Mike was getting Jeremiah a chocolate shake when he was getting the ice cream for himself (:

shaking vyncent around hes naive but hes not stupid hes homesick hes trying his best here, but everyone who says theyre helping him isnt giving him much to work with and then getting upset when he gets it wrong, which makes him upset in turn because hes trying so hard working with what he has and what he knows and none of it is right

so he clings to whats familiar (main quests, side quests, jrpg posters, etc.) because at least thats something he knows, which then applies to dakota and william where they dont get it they dont understand and its frustrating but at least theyre familiar here, theyre all he knows of this world so he clings to them and relies on them to be there to guide him and teach him how things work, and even though they dont do that very well theyre all hes got and theyre familiar so he clings,,

he just wants something familiar for once he just wants something to go right he just wants something to be what he expects it to be for once but he cant have that so he keeps stumbling forward cause theres nothing else he can do and at least jumping from quest to quest to quest is familiar-

god it kills me because vyncent is competent but no one gives him the tools he needs to show that. he's working with what he has, he's working with what he knows, but no one here tells him that he's wrong in this world until after he's already gone and fucked something up. no one's actually taking the time to pre-emptively explain the rules and how shit works they're just fucking trial-by-firing this guy over and over and over again without caring about the fact that if you leave something on the heat long enough itll eventually explode

vyncent has a lot of frustration and the patience of a goddamn saint cause quite frankly his explosion at dakota outside of ashe's door in episode 11 was both deserved and a long time coming. quite frankly im impressed he was even that restrained for how much he's clearly keeping pushed down

I think they like to play card games sometimes. Often they drag in others to supsrvise for cheating. (it won't stop them from cheating but it means they've gotta work harder to be sneaky about it and that just adds to the fun!) Cheated has a score-count for everybody. for every different game they play. him vs opportunist. him vs cold. the whole group playing. contrarian is often banned for bringing other card games to the table. he also never gets to supervise despite often asking to. Hero volunteers to supervise a lot but often doesn't catch the cheating so he's denied the role. Cheated, skeptic, opportunist and cold are the best. Broken is also surprisingly good sometimes. Even when he has the best hand he worries he'll screw it up somehow, and his downer attitude tends to convince the others he's gonna lose too. erm thats all i think

i just know these two have the potential to end up breaking into a fight over their silly card games. After cold left and the two eventually got tired of their games and went their separate ways opportunist stuck his leg out so cheated could trip over. they push each other down the stairs, maybe.

been thinking a lot abt how much i love nona and alecto as so clearly non-human but still having a sense of.. idk the best way to put it is humanity, no matter how contradictory that feels lmao. but i really keep going back to thinking about how clearly and strongly they both FEEL non-human. alecto obviously goes on and on about how horrible the body john made for her is, but this particular complaint jumped out at me immediately:

nose too short, ears too brief, that paired with the occasional complaints nona has about her body such as “Nona hated having hands” (absolute reddest flag that That’s Not A Human i have ever seen i screamed when i read that),

and im pretty sure making a remark about not liking to walk upright at some point (could be remembering that one wrong) and like….. what does she see as the right body? are those last two just her being a planet with no body to speak of and the ears and nose an issue with john making her an idealized version of a human, or does she see herself as some kind of earth animal? maybe as several of them? what earth critter does she draw in this scene, and was it perhaps how she sees herself, or an animal she feels represents her? i have stared at this for 8 hrs trying to figure out what she drew, is it a manatee or some other aquatic mammal?? something else from the ocean, her home??? talking about vertebrates moving on to land????

does she even see herself as any one thing at all, or a hodgepodge of all the things shes been home to and loved? we’ll probably never know and it ultimately doesn’t matter but i want to know who she is So Badly

the general consensus seems to be okay with it - and like i said in the tags it's a "minor" choice all things considered, and it doesn't completely lock you out of anything, it's mainly for roleplaying purposes. i'm not 100% decided if i'll do it that way, i still have 2 more paths to get through and it ultimately depends how i feel once those are done, if i feel good enough to go back and finish that one choice right away, or if i'm dead inside and need a break lmfao
