!!! ARCHIVIST MARTIN HEADCANONS PLS !!!

OHOHOH FELLA YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH HCS I HAVE FOR THIS AU

Literally all of this is going under a read more because I have this entire au mapped out in detail but basically I find the idea of Archivist!Martin very interesting because it's just changing one detail of the entire podcast and it completely alters the story.

(Under the read more is basically my entire idea for this au from season one to season four)

What happens in this au is that Elias hires and appoints Martin as head archivist because of the fact he was already deeply alligned with the lonely and was a interests of the webs. He lacked any real connection outside of the archives and was already of interest of two entities, he's basically a perfect candidate to become archivist. Tim, Sasha, and especially Jon are hesitant to be working under someone who they don't know and hold a slight grudge against Martin at the start for being obviously unqualifed for his job. Tim and Sasha, of course, immediately become more understanding when finding out about Martin's cv and just assuming he got unlucky and winded up with the role as the head archivist. Jon, on the other hand, still doesn't know about Martin's cv and continues holding the grudge against Martin.

Which leads us to season 1

In season one, Jon's opinion on Martin is "Oh lord this man I don't know is obviously unqualifed for his job and the role of archivist should've gone to my friend Sasha. I don't like this man but he is my boss so I will keep my mouth shut." Jon though, is still very passive agressive to Martin but is less of an ass to him in this au. Martin is very open about his opinion on statements and believes alot of them but similar to jon, will only record the ones that he knows have to be real. I still think Martin get's trapped in his flat by prentiss in this au, wanting to get more info for the case but not wanting to inconvenience any of his co-workers. While trapped in his flat, Jon takes over for him and records statements for Martin (Not in a "I want to impress my boss" matter but more of an "I'll show this twerp how it's really done") and realizes how much of toll it takes on him and how difficult the job is. When Martin comes back from his little worm adventure, Jon is much more nicer and understanding of him. Martin records what happened with him and prentiss and Jon offers him to stay in the little room he made for when he overstays at work. (Martin of course, is not happy with the fact Jon stays past work hours finishing up stuff but that doesnt matter). Y'know how the rest of s1 goes with the prentiss attack (Jon and Martin still share the heart to heart, Jon loses him and Tim in the tunnels) Jon finds Gertrude's body and it sparks his paranoia finding out she was shot to death and then we get to

Season 2

Jon's immediate assumption is that Martin killed Gertrude to get his job because like, he still doesn't know Martin well and then finds out this dude's predecessor got murdered so of course mr jon sims is going to go "oh so Martin for SURE murdered this lady." For the first half of the season, Jon pretends to be buddy buddy with Martin to see if anything's off with him and somewhere along the line Jon finds the noted Martin was writing to his mom in the trash and immediately assumes its about the murder. He catches Martin in his office and immediately corners Martin like "HEY I KNOW YOU KILLED GERTRUDE AND I GOT THE PROOF" and Martin just sighs and tells him about his cv and mother and Jon's opinion of Martin goes from "incompetent murderer who killed his predecessor to get his job and might kill me." to "highschool drop out whos just trying to make a living might end up being murdered too". With the not-sasha stuff it's sorta the same but Martin let's Jon in on some details of his suspicions on her. Martin get's framed for Jurgen's death and NOW WE ARE AT

Season 3

So since Martin obviously doesn't have a place to hide it at the start of season 3 so Jon offers him to stay at his place. Jon knows that Martin didn't kill Jurgen and is willing to take the risk of giving Martin a  place to stay. Martin, of course, is hesitant but takes the offer because he's been crushing on Jon for the past forever and definitely will take his chances in staying in hot guy's flat. You know the shenanigans of s3 (Martin get's burned by Jude, kidnapped by Daisy, kipdnapped by Nikola) and FINALLY get's back into the archives to apologize to Jon for being gone from the flat for so long and apologizes again cause he's about to go off to america. Martin get's kidnapped again, comes back to london, and now it's time to stop an apocalypse! ( Before the unknowing happens, Jon and Martin share a heart to heart and confess that they both share feelings for another and get together the day before 118 happens then shit goes DOWN ). Martin of course, goes off to the unknowing and Jon stays behind at the archives to distract Elias. Elias tries and fails to use Jon's feelings for Martin against him, then switches to what happened with Georgie and the dead women walking incidents against him, pinning it on him because of his connection with the web. Martin stops the unknowing, Jon comes home to the empty apartment and gets the news that Martin is in a coma. (He immediately blames it on himself) and now it's time for

Season 4

Jon losing Martin right after realizing that they both love each other absolutely tears him apart. He moves flats and he begins to separate himself from the rest of the archives and works with peter. Martin wakes up from his coma without anyone by his side and is told the news to him about his mom right the day after. S4 basically goes the same with Martin seeing Jon again finally after the coma and goes to hug him and tell him how much he missed him but Jon just stares at him like he saw a ghost and leaves without saying a word to him. Alot of their interactions are sparse, usually with Martin trying to spark a convo with Jon resulting in usually no response or just a head shake as he scutters off.  Then Martin finally is able to actually talk to Jon and tells him that he misses him and that maybe they could catch up sometime but Jon just laughs and tells him that hes busy. Martin later on finds out about how to cut off the connection with the eye and goes to tell Jon that they could leave the archives but Jon tells him that he can't and tells Martin he doesn't want to see him anymore and kicks Martin out his office. You know what happens in 158 and 159, it's basically the same and Jon and Martin settle down at the safehouse.

I don't have much for season 5 but I really like the idea that Martin is still optimistic even after the change and that he reassures Jon that he's gonna find a way to fix it when it reality he has no clue and it terrified to think about what is going to happpen to them. They don't stay in the cabin that long soon after since Martin is very eager to go to the pannopticon and ya! Yknow how it goes.

Im so sorry I wrote a whole essay worth of shit but this au means alot to me and i get very excited when people ask me about it!!

wake up

- hearing the “1, 2, 3″ at the start of the episode gives me more serotonin than my antidepressants ever will

- julie’s slippers...that’s it...that’s the thought

- that dry ass pasta the molina’s are eating for dinner??? someone needs to give my man ray some cooking tips or a cookbook... something

-the looks the boys give julie when she says it was an OLD cd she found. as if they could be old??

-the entire julie and luke kitchen scene i mean there are no words to describe how much i am in love with scene. the banter, the flirting, luke giving this girl he literally just met an actual PIECE OF HIS SOUL so she can get music back into her life. not a single time have i watched that scene and not felt my heart literally grow cause of how cute they are. 

-the entire scene when julie is singing wake up. that scene is what made me literally CRAVE watching the other episodes. like of course i was going to watch them cause i wasn’t gonna just stop watching a show after one episode, and yes the show was good already but seeing the lighting and her voice, and just everything about the scene,,,,*chef’s kiss*

- the first time i watch this scene i thought charlie was from new york cause of the way he says “ i can't do this without you” and then i watched the cast interviews and just realized he is somewhat joey tribbiani

- the shoulder push ( as someone who has had their own shoulder pushed in the middle of a high school hallway as a weird way of flirting,,,,i can definitely somewhat attest to how luke is feeling in that moment and i too continued to flirt with the person who shoulder shoved me while we were still standing in the hallway)

- the flow from whatever the hell dance nick and julie are doing and the perfect harmony dance is so special to me and i love it

-ADOANCLOBNAOVBCOAB THE HAIR PLSSSSS

- EVERYTIME THE SCENE COMES ON AND I SEE HIM WALKING THROUGH THE MIRROR I HAVE TO PAUSE THE SHOW FOR LIKE 10 MINUTES WHILE I DIE LAUGHING BECAUSE THE HAIR IS SO BAD EVEN THOUGH I SHOULD BE USED TO HOW IT LOOKS AFTER WATCHING THIS SHOW LITERALLY 30 TIMES

i think i understand tian a bit better bc i feel like last ep i was kind of confused why tian just accepted leaving when there wasn’t anything truly forcing him to do so, but i think it’s bc tian has always had this mindset of following what his parents want so he thinks of that future with his parents as somewhat set in stone even if the path there is flexible, so even though i wish he hadn’t had to leave the village i do think it’s important that he had this period of realizing that he can choose his own future

i like mr winai, he’s cool

the metaphor of the flower being tian, when he’s coddled too much by his parents he withers, but when he really experiences life and faces it he blossoms

also “the place that fits you will make you grow”

it must be so frustrating for tian to have gone through all that, to have finally put his all into something, to have experienced all the ups and downs and then to have everyone reduce that experience to just “a rich kid having some fun pretending to struggle for a little while”

okay but how prestigious a university do you need to go to for teaching tho? like not to reduce the difficulty of teaching or anything but does he really need to go overseas?

what with nam flirting in the eearly episodes, i wish he and the show had treated the wedding more as his wedding than just an excuse for phupha and tian to reunite, like marriage is kind of a big deal

i can’t believe it’s over, y’all, like what a journey, i truly wasn’t expecting the story to be so emotional and dramatic but i really have loved it so much and while i’m glad we’ve finally gotten to the happy ending, i’m so sad to say goodbye. i don’t think fish upon the sky will be quite as good or be so impactful, but nevertheless i’m excited to start that next week and i hope it will be a good addition to frigay and give me something new to be excited about each week

and to be honest i was not vibing with the second season at first (probably, for sure..ly bc of what happened to my kings in s1. all these new characters were being introduced, i felt like pure shit just wanted them back. i couldnt properly enjoy it) also the whole.. fantasy thing.... is not my thing... idk... from the start, when i saw the fucking wand i wanted to scream dlkjas i knew it wasnt going to be for me. but i think it got better as it went on, it just didnt captivate me like the plot from s1. i didnt follow it as well? i enjoyed how i could easily pick up the little clues in s1 but tbh i think that just reflects dirk's state cuz we sorta follow his pov... he was v e r y lost during s2 and that rubbed on me!!! i didnt enJOYYYY ONE BITTT SEEING HIMMM SO FUCKING SAD... he was just sad and freaking out and he just needed a friend >:( and todd ugh he pissed me off a lot of the time dlkajskl........... ill never forget him saying dirk deserved to be alone 🚶‍♂️being a dirkette isnt easy.

a/n: honestly writing so much makes me feel like i’ve been posessed by the ghost of productivity. and at this point im not even gonna complain. day 4 of rarepair week!

cryptfinder was like... my original crypto ship, all the way back in season 3. idk why it got me so bad.. it just makes me really soft, i love the “someone will die” “of fun!” dynamic they have, and how crypto is like soft for only one (1) person and thats his robot. its cute

Preview: Elliott was insecure, yes - he was the kind of man to trip over his own tongue and his whole thought would come crashing down with him - but he was intelligent, an efficient engineer and people person, an excellent businessman who knew what made people tick. He wasn’t a bad looking man either. He had a nice smile, the kind that lit up his whole face when it was genuine, the kind that made his eyes smile with him. And when he wasn’t wearing that god awful jumpsuit, he was almost attractive, well built and taken care of, putting a lot of effort into making Mirage as real as possible, though he was about as real as a gaudy, faux gold rip-off. But as Crypto watched the bar, where he was working pouring drinks, frantically guiding the much taller, clumsier robot, his eyes were not on Elliott.

With his coat pulled up to hide his face, and knuckles shaking from the grip on his glass, Crypto couldn’t tear his eyes away from the bar just in eyesight from his little corner seat even if he tried. They were supposed to be out here celebrating at the Paradise Lounge, with somewhat professional businessman Elliott kind enough to offer the champion squad free drinks (begrudgingly, to even him, which Crypto was incredibly smug about at the time, but almost thankful for now) after a great game that day. And sure, it was fantastic; a last-minute scan from Hack let them get the drop on the final squad, an EMP blast slowing them down just enough to catch them in the field of Anita’s Rolling Thunder barrage, while Pathfinder led the final assault and gunned the final guy down in his usual unnervingly cheerful way. He should have been happy about another win under his belt - it was enough to get people to stop asking questions about his skill, and sudden appearance in the games. But he wasn’t. He just kept staring at the bar.

 Elliott wasn’t an idiot. He knew that, despite his own insistence. No, Mirage was an idiot, but Mirage also didn’t have anything to hide. Mirage was a one-note, total bumbling fool, who Crypto was sure would short-circuit if he thought about anyone but himself. But Elliott was not that. Elliott was insecure, yes - he was the kind of man to trip over his own tongue and his whole thought would come crashing down with him - but he was intelligent, an efficient engineer and people person, an excellent businessman who knew what made people tick.  Now Pathfinder was an interesting case. A MRVN unit with slightly more awareness than the average one, though that was often misplaced. He was a lost soul, somehow finding his home in murder, where he made fast friends and fans alike, though that was never what he wanted. Still, he didn’t seem to mind, his demeanour never changing - he had that shrill ‘Hi, friends!’ drilled into the back of his head by now… but at least that was a hole to get all the fog out, when his own head was the worst place to be. He was almost thankful for it, in fact. He thought back to the game that day, the way Pathfinder looked over to him, the screen on his chest lit up with a warm, celebratory yellow, as he gave an excited wave, before his attention turned to Anita for a fistbump. He soon turned back, and offered Crypto the same, metallic fist… which he took, and returned the gesture, almost laughing at the way the robot seemed to rock back and forth in excitement. It was… cute, almost warm, not like his cold exterior… not like Crypto. Pathfinder was warm. Pathfinder was cute.

 And Pathfinder was over there, sharing his warmth with everyone else.

 Over the thumping bass of the music too loud to distinguish, he was almost sure he heard a gentle crack of glass, and even though he knew that he would never be strong enough to shatter it with one hand he still flinched with a start, checking his hand for any loose liquor that had spilt, before rubbing it against his coat. So maybe he was just a little jealous. Slightly. But was it because of the attention that the robot was receiving tonight, or was it because he could live so free, not bound by the bars of paranoia? It was absolutely insufferable. The hacker slowly held onto his glass again, taking a final drink and knocking his head back before placing it down quite harshly, enough to get a few heads to turn, before he shuffled out of the booth and stood to his feet, beginning to head towards the door.

“Hey, hey, Crypto, where you goin’?” From the bar, Elliott looked up, taking his eyes off of Pathfinder for the briefest of moments. 

“Home. Thanks for the free drink, Witt.”

“At least stay for another one, c’mon. I’m teaching this bag of bolts how to- wait, Path, no! Ah, dammit- not on my pants, you stupid-”

“Sorry, friend, these glasses are so small in my hands it’s hard to see when it ends.” The robot placed the whiskey glass down on the bar, excess spilling onto the counter as Elliott tried to clean the rest of the alcohol off of his leg with the towel over his shoulder.

“It’s- OK, then don’t hold it, it’s fine.”

“But you-”

“I have tiny human hands! I can do that! You’re… clumsy, and that’s… it's fine.” He gently patted Pathfinder’s small face with a hand, before turning his attention back to Crypto, unable to see the way his fists were clenched in the pocket of his coat. “One more. On me? C’mon, new guy.”

He gritted his teeth. The bar was loud, too many people were here as it was, he had already pushed the limits of what he wanted from tonight. Crypto opened his mouth to say no again, but he caught Pathfinder’s eye, staring at him from just behind Elliott, glowing in his warmth and kindness. The hacker closed his eyes, and sighed, pulling up a stool and sitting down at the counter, ignoring the bartender’s successful fist pump only to himself. This wasn’t for his benefit, anyway.

 After watching the trickster fumble a little more to try and help Pathfinder a little more, only resulting in more drinks spilling on himself and the floor, he was slid a hastily made glass of whiskey, before Elliott excused himself to go clean up in the bathroom - “keep the bar warm but don’t serve anyone, got it, Path?” he’d specifically instructed, to which Pathfinder seemed to ignore as he turned his attention to a couple of patrons trying to haggle drinks for free through flattery. It worked, bless his heart, as he managed to keep the pint glass steady under the nozzle, handing it to the woman who shot a flirty remark that flew right over his head.

He laughed from over his glass, taking a small drink, gagging at the aftertaste but doing his best to cover it by coughing and covering his hand with the side of a clenched fist, just as Pathfinder returned.

“Elliott knows so many great friends, I really like working here!”

“Ya, you… seem to fit right in.”

“Do you really think so?” He seemed to genuinely appreciate the comment, perking up a little bit. “Do you think I’d look nice in a bow tie and suit? Elliott has an image to maintain, after all - I wouldn’t want to ruin it for my very best friend.”

An image of tackiness and gaud, Crypto wanted to say, but he bit his tongue. “Do you even know how to tie one?”

“No!” The confirmation was said with such cheer that it almost made him smile a little. “Why, do you?”

He blinked. “...Ya.”

“Can you show me?” If the robot was anymore animated, he would have twinkles in his optic from his excitement. 

Crypto looked away, practically burying his face into his coat. “I… maybe.”

“Promise?”

“...Mhm.”

Pathfinder was practically glowing again with excitement, clapping his hands together, enough for Crypto to glance back over and bask in the warmth for a moment.

His shoulders lost their tension, he physically relaxed, and as the robot rambled on, divulging way too much about himself and his goals, he found himself… interested, and intrigued, offering insight as a man who was looking for someone just as hard, hardly noticing as one by one people filtered out, the other Legends heading home until it was just the two of them, and Elliott, closing up the bar.

 “You two good to get home?” He asked, twirling the keys to the Paradise lounge around his finger.

Crypto nodded, flinching a little as Pathfinder slapped a hand down on his shoulder.

“Crypto promised to share a taxi with me! I’m so excited!”

The trickster raised an eyebrow, a small smirk forming on his lips. “Oh yeah? Check you out, kid. Making friends. Wasn’t so hard to get that stick out of your ass, huh?”

“Ip dakchyeo.”

“Yeah, you too, buddy.”

The hacker zipped up his coat again and looked away, shoving his hands in his pockets and continued to wait at the door, for Elliott to usher the two of them out, and lock up, heading to his car and leaving the two of them, alone, in the glow of the streetlight and Pathfinder’s presence, as he quietly bounced in place.

“Are you not cold?” The robot asked, looking down.”

“Ah, I’m fine.”

“Are you sure?”

“Mhm.”

Pathfinder blinked, before nodding to himself, taking off the warm scarf around his neck and tying it around Crypto’s, making the hacker flinch again.

“Wait, I said-”

“It’s OK, I don’t really need it.” He gently tied it, expertly creating a small bow from the side, where it practically drowned Crypto’s face. “It looks nice on you, friend!”

He swallowed, looking down at his feet, and mumbling a thank you, enough to satisfy the other legend to take his attention away. Once he did that, Crypto dared to bring up his hand, running his fingertips across the softest tartan he had felt in a long time, and the light smell of motor oil that lingered to the fabric.

 The taxi soon arrived, and the two of them got in, Crypto silently cursing Elliott to himself for not offering them a ride. It certainly would have made things a little less awkward. Did he know too much? The look he gave him certainly seemed like a catch on. He wasn’t here to make friends. He knew he wasn’t. But the draw of some people, or robots, was almost too much for him to bear, it seemed, as Pathfinder talked his ear off for the entire journey, voice more like music than white noise as Crypto stared out of the window, assessing his thoughts in the night, the evening he realised that maybe, just maybe, he liked Pathfinder.

Today was another excellent day. But I am way tireder then I was last night. Like it is a little hard to sit up and write this but I will power through. 

I did sleep alright last night but before bed I had another really bad nose bleed except this time I was alone, as James was asleep, and I only had 3 tissues. So I was a little upset and scared. But it was alright in the end. And I have a new tissue box now so hopefully I wont feel so stranded. 

I woke up around 8 but I stayed in bed until 830. I really wanted to keep sleeping but I knew Jess was up and I didnt want to be rude. And of course she was already dressed and looking cute. But she was doing work for her WFH job so she wasnt to bothered. I got washed up and dressed. I felt cute again today but I mostly forgot to take my picture until way late in the day. But that was alright. We were just having to much fun. 

The big plan for the day was to go squishmallow hunting. But the mall we were going to search at didnt open until 11. So we had some time to hang out. So after breakfast we started rinsing our tye dye projects. I decided Jess should go first because her's is so much lighter and I didnt want to stain her's with all my dark dye. And it was so funny hers didnt run any dye at almost at all?? Absolutely bizarre. We were using the coldest water and really trying to get in there but no dye came out. So we hung it to dry and got into mine. 

Mine was a different story. As soon as I unwrapped it from the plastic is was dripping black dye. So I pulled off the rubber bands and got to work rinsing it. It took a good ten minutes of rinsing but it honestly looked great. As it dried throughout the day the black would fade to a lovely almost grey purple. But the actual tye dyed scrunchy parts look so cool. I am super excited to share it tomorrow when we take pictures. It was a lot of fun to do and while I dont think I will like. Tye dye my whole life. It was a lot of fun to experiment with. And for our first go it was really successful. 

Once we were done that and everything was drying in the bathroom we got ready to leave. I wasnt super excited to drive, as I still felt really tired, but it was alright. Though when we got to the car I found we barely had any gas and I was annoyed about that because I hate putting gas in the car but I would do it. Even though I hate it. 

We drove out to the mall and it felt so weird to be in a mall. But there werent a lot of people. It was mostly just quiet. But it for sure felt like a blast from the past. We walked the whole mall. Talked about being mall rat teens. What we would do and play and just the culture of that time in our lives. And hoenstly it was just a good time. It was nice to walk around inside and not be cold and because we were on this funny hunt for squishes there was an element of activity and goal. 

We didnt have great luck. The claires had nothing. The hallmark had nothing. We did find some at Hot Topic though. I ended up getting a blind box one. And Jess got a couple little things. We also got a matching set of lollypop earrings I am very excited about. We got lunch in the food court. Felt very weird eating inside. I got pretzel bites. It was just. A good time at the mall. 

We were there about an hour, making our last stop at Hot Topic for the second time to make our actual purchases. And then we went to the strip mall across the road to go to starbucks. Everyone was driving stupid so I was really glad to be out of there. 

We started to head towards the closes Marshalls. And they only had a cuddler squish there. And a way to long line, so I did not buy the face wash I was going to get. We instead went to Target. We made a stop to get gas. Which was terrible only because the same thing happened as last time and the machine kept saying my zipcode was wrong and I had to go talk to the man at the counter and it was a whole thing. I hate pumping gas. But it was handled. 

Next we went to the CVS and the Walgreens to check and finding nothing good we continued on to Target. 

Target was mostly a bust. No easter friends. But we ended up finding a beautiful greyscale bunny that Jess really liked. And we decided we were done. I wanted to make one more loop around toys just and in case and while we did I remembered to stop to look in the legos to see if they had the botanical one me and James have been trying to get but keeps getting scalped for 3xs the real price. And I was so excited to find that they had it!! The bouquet of flowers!! I was so jazzed. I cant wait to build this with them and its going to be great and look so cool in our house. 

We were both a little beat by this point though. So it was time for home. 

It was a nice drive back. The sun started coming out after a really grey day. And I was happy to be home. 

We would chill for a little bit but then there were more things we wanted to do. We opened our blind boxes. I got a dragon that we think was meant to be scented like minit chocolate but just smelt. Bad. But whatever. Still cute. I like the dragons. And then we got to work on my clothes. 

I wanted to do another big purge and having moral support to talk things out was exactly what I needed. So Jess helped me make piles of everything I own and make hard calls for each piece. I was a little more brutal then I expected but honestly I had purged my clothes in december and I sort of knew what ones that if I didnt wear in the last 2 months were going to get the axe. So it was only hard at some points. And I was really excited that everything I wanted to fit in the trunk for seasonal pieces and my closet isnt to full anymore. Two bags of clothes to donate and Im just really happy about that. And before that Jess tried on some that she liked from the get rid of pile and took some and that made me feel really happy too. Im glad they will get a second life. 

We would spend more time in my room trying on ren fair costume stuff. And spent way to long trying to relace a corset thats a little to big for me. But it was honestly a lot of fun. We were just very tired at the end. 

James had a performance review during that time that we got to hear and I got to be all proud about how well they are doing. And then James would go on a bike ride after work before picking us all up dinner. Because I have the best partner. 

While James was gone me and Jess would be on the couch playing a little animal crossing. Being sleepy. When food did come I was really upset that both our orders were missing pieces and I was trying very hard not to have a breakdown over something stupid. But Jess gave me some of hers that I was missing and we made due. I was just a little sad. 

Dinner was nice though. And we all just sat together doing little crafts and enjoying the company. 

And we still have tomorrow. The plan is to do some photoshoots and make a little painting project together. I hope to sleep better tonight though. Im going to go take a shower and get cozy and try to get to bed earlier. Wish me luck. Goodnight everyone! Wash your hands!

okay quick opinion on ep12 of my engineer before i fall asleep (im feeling so sleepy rn,,,,)

okay, so i am doing this in order of my fav couple to my least fav couple and usually it would be ramking-frongthara-bohnduen-mekboss but things are constantly changing and i honest to god cant stand duen anymore so, mekboss!! they honestly surprised me this episode. ever since i kinda caught onto what their relationship would be (before they actually got together) i disliked them and it didn’t help that boss used to act like an a-hole (i hate the gay person falls for straight best friend trope since it usually doesn’t end well so i guess it helped that they actually got together and shit idk), but now that they’re together and mek’s longing stares don’t exist anymore, i am getting more into it. i’m still not the biggest fan of boss but him naming the team was honestly so funny and the name wasn’t even that bad skhfsjs.

alright. time for the big boy throwing three stacks. bohnduen. oh boy. i feel bad for bohn, i truly do. my boy just wants to have some cuddles and kisses and hugs but duen isn’t ready for that. and after seeing the “it’s the last day u bring me flowers scene” i kinda understood. they’ve literally only known each other for a month. a month. and they’re already dating. dating is a big thing and it requires a lot of trust, which we can see they don’t have. i guess that’s why they’re so.. bland in comparison to the other couples who are either getting to know each other (ramking and frongthara) or have been best friends for years (mekboss). i guess they lack that spark between them that is filled with knowledge, love and trust that couples have. i wish they made them progress as people just as the show is progress, but these two kind of stay the same? and i get that it’s literally only been a month but holy fuck someone can change A Lot in one month, believe me. sigh. idk i guess i’ll have to see how this couple ends in this season and see if the second season will be worth watching (if they’re the main couple again).

What are your answers to those 20 questions? Im planning to add my own answers too (even though nobody asked lol)

I got another ask for some of the numbers but I’m just gonna do this one because it’s all of them.

1) Favorite character? Jonathan, hands down. He’s so underrated. I love him with all my heart.

2) Favorite season? Even though I love Season 1 and the amount of thought that was actually put into the writing, I’m gonna say Season 2 because I really loved that season and a lot of amazing things happened in that season (mostly the Jancy kiss lol but other things too)

3) Favorite scene? Oof that’s a hard one. I really like the exorcism scene from S2 with Joyce, Jonathan, Nancy and Will (Noah Schnapp did amazing, all of the actors in this scene were phenomenal, Winona, Charlie, and Natalia and especially Noah). I also obviously love the Jancy first kiss, and how passionate it is (and scene directly before and morning after scene lol).

4) Favorite 80s song from the album? Even though it was used for Stancy (sigh), I am a sucker for Africa, I’ve loved that song since before Stranger Things. But I also love Should I Stay Or Should I Go and how significant it is to the show.

5) Favorite ship? I think it’s obvious to anyone who’s seen my blog lol, Jancy obviously. And it’s canon so there’s that.

6) Favorite outfit? Oh gosh, literally any of Jonathan’s sweaters cuz he looks so cute in them. I also really liked Joyce’s S3 look, she was a cutie. And I liked Nancy’s dresses in S3, they were cute. I like a lot of the outfits tbh (Max always has cute outfits, and El in S3).

7) Favorite antagonist? Can I say just Hawkins Lab in general? I miss S1 and S2 when you never knew what the Lab was gonna do next, it made for a good antagonist. The Russians didn’t seem all that mysterious tbh.

8) Scoops Troop, Griswold Family, or Eagle’s Nest? Griswold Family for sure! Jancy and the kids will always be superior! I wish they got more screentime, especially after the hospital scene. I also wish the siblings actually acknowledged each other.

9) Who’s your favorite actor? Charlie!! I mean, all of the actors are amazing, but I’m starting to really appreciate Charlie Heaton. For one thing, I love British boys, and for another, I just think he’s a phenomenal actor and he’s really good at showing his emotions. I wish the writers gave him more to work with.

10) Most badass Hawkins lady? Oh dang, that’d have to be a tie between Joyce and Nancy. I just love how Joyce would do anything for her kids, including go into an unknown dimension with the possibility of being Demogorgon lunch. Also, when she punched the mayor, gosh, that was amazing. And Nancy, when she stood in front of the car and just shot at Billy when he was racing towards her, I was so proud (and also scared for Nancy’s life). And “Let’s burn that lab to the ground”, I love her, she’s such a badass.

11) Favorite mom? (By the way person who made the questions, Steve’s not a mom!) I love Joyce! She is the World’s Greatest Mom™️! Sure, she has some problems, but she would literally do anything for her kids and I love that! Also, she’s so chill, like Jonathan had a girl over and she totally knew and didn’t care! My mom would literally kill me lol. I love Joyce.

12) Saddest scene? Oh gosh that’s hard. Bob dying was really sad to me, but I actually genuinely cried at the S3 ending. Not because of Hopper’s letter but because the Byers are moving! Like I get why but it’s still so sad seeing everyone say goodbye to each other, like come on Joyce, look how sad they all are :(

13) Any merch? So, because I’m fairly new to this fandom, I don’t have much. I seriously watched the whole show for the first time in April because quarantine and my friend wanted me to watch it, so I did, I’ve binged it at least 4 times though already during quarantine. However, since I recently graduated from high school and was given a lot of graduation money that I had no idea what to spend on (yes, I set some aside for college), I bought some merch. I bought a S3 poster from Walmart. I bought a Steve Funko online. For my birthday, which was in June, my friend gave me a Scoops Ahoy shirt and pin. My boyfriend gave me a Robin Funko (he said he was gonna get me Jonathan but they didn’t have anymore of his 1 single Funko, rip). And then my sister and I went to Hot Topic and I got two shirts, one that just has the Stranger Things logo and the other has the Griswold Family on it (seriously, I saw Nancy and Jonathan on it and I screamed). That’s it. Oh, and then my sister gave me some Stranger Things decals for my birthday which I put on my laptop. And then my sister’s friend gave me a sticker with Robin on it, and that’s on the back of my phone. That’s it. That’s all the merch.

14) Favorite line? I’m sorry but my favorite line will forever be, “So, Jonathan, how was the pull-out?”. That line is literally the most clever innuendo I have ever heard. And I love Jonathan’s reaction to it. And Nancy’s little smirk. I may be pretty innocent, but I understood that line the second I heard it. And I love that it’s for Jancy. If it was for any other couple, I might not have laughed as hard as I did, but it was still hilarious, imo.

15) Contributed to the fandom? Again, I’m pretty new to the fandom. I did write a fanfic, but it never got posted because my computer decided to delete it for some reason. I’m not good at art, so no on that. I did make a Tik Tok though. You can check it out, my name is @camree_nicole. The Tik Tok literally blew up (like seriously most of my videos only get like 20 likes by my irl friends, but this one got 12K likes, it was crazy!), like I gained a lot of Stranger Things fan page followers. What was the Tik Tok? I literally made it because I was procrastinating my online school (back when I was still doing that) and it’s literally about how whenever I’m binging Stranger Things and get to S2:E6, I get really excited and I showed the scene of Nancy and Jonathan about to kiss. I got a lot of comments like “Yesss I was so happy!” and stuff like that and it made me really happy lol.

16) Favorite fan theory? Idk, there’s some pretty crazy theories out there. I don’t really look at many theories, I just like seeing what some people theorize for S4. I especially like @unpredictablybittersweet’s S4 theories here on Tumblr. And GemmaStones on Reddit has some theories I really like too.

17) Favorite filming location? The Byers house!! I’m gonna miss that place :’( Lots of iconic stuff has happened there. Still bitter we didn’t get much of it in S3.

18) Read any books or comics? Again, I’m pretty new, so no I have not. I’ve heard what happens in some of them online though.

19) Favorite duo? My fave duo will forever be Nancy and Jonathan. Whether it’s platonic or romantic, when they get together they do some pretty badass things.

omg first i need to talk about nct at song festival (gayo daechukjae) umm first of all mark and taeyongs rap was so good but ofc we all knew they would kill it. and then in nct U class, teacher taeyong looked so good...the way he bit that pointer stick thing in the beginning was so sexc (and the hair and the glasses ahdsfasjf) 😳 but also sungchans rap in that?? i was not expecting that but why am i even surprised anymore.. and also misfit live?? i loved nct's school uniform concept too for some reason ahahaha

yea for my job situation i think it will be okay, i talked to some people i know/mentors about it too and i think things will work out...they always do in the end right? 😊 now about anime LOL this is making me wanna start/rewatch an anime now hahahah! honestly i kind of have phases where i alternate between kdramas and animes, but i havent rly watched anime much lately besides haikyuu (which i was also surprised was still airing (but it's only season 2 so far?)). kpop (aka NCT) has been consuming my life lmao but im here for it 😂

SEVENTEEN!!!!: yeah all of their choreos are so satisfying (pointing this out one more time) they always pay attention to details (for example in home, bc you're familiar with it, they even choreograph the hands and pay attention to them while most of the other kpop choreos very often freestyle the whole arms sjagaj) here's a fun fact abt svt that makes me love them so much agsgsj: they're self produced! they produce their own music and they even come up with their own choreos!! (of course not on their own, woozi is a producer but he's not making songs on his own he coproduces them with [a producer name bc i guess that's irrelevant but if you’re curious: bumzu], they come up with their own choreo (to be precise, hoshi does! he is 1/2 main dancers in group and he is the main choreographer! he doesn't do everything on his own of course, he gets help from the rest of the performance team (which is a svt subunit consisted of their 2 main and 2 lead dancers: hoshi, dino, the8, jun) and of course some other infamous kpop choreography teams) and i think that, by now, all the members were credited at least once for the lyrics

Steve breaks up with Tony after finding out Bucky is still alive.

Steve fights everyone to save a soldier that didn't want to return. Goes against the accords. Starts an argument with Tony after Tony fixes Bucky's arm up and puts him through BARF and then proceeds to be happy and smug as he is not only reunited with returned memories winter soldier but also with the love they once shared. After everything Steve and Bucky take down Tony in Hydras Siberian bunker.

After a month of thinking Tony just went off the grid, something doesn't sit well with the rogues so they return to the compound to find that there is a search and rescue operation for Tony. Even though everyone that sided with tony are pissed at they rogues they needed more hands on deck.

They visit the Siberian bunker which was the last place they saw Tony. The find the suit there but not the man. They find a kidnapped genius in the arms of Madame Hydra who relocated in Germany.

Turns out Hydra kidnapped him so they can make a time machine to go back in time and stop Captain America from destroying Red Skull and stopping his plan.

They fight tooth and nail to get Tony back. When they do Madame Hydra activates the time machine. Tony, Bucky and Steve make a run for her and managed to stop her from entering. Bucky had thrown her across the room. Bright light surrounds everyone in the room and the next thimg the 3 know is that they have gone back to the 40s.

Tony manages to find a hideout in an old abandoned building for the 3. He knows they will be there for awhile as he needs to gather together enough parts to make a somewhat descent time machine. He tells the two to stay put amd make sure they don't run into themselves while Tony is gone. He walks out ignoring Steve calling out to him.

It only takes a week for everything to fuck up. Tony gets beaten up in an alley and is saved by a short skinny Steve and a tall not too bulky but still muscular Bucky. A day later because he refused to seek treatment and gets sick, he accidentally blurts out how he is from the future and he has their older versions hiding out in a safehouse. While in his sick state he also flirts with Bucky.

Once he wakes up and finds he's not sick anymore, he looks up to find an annoyed Winter Soldier and Steve standing at rhe foot of a makeshift bed glaring down at him while a sheepish Steve and a smug Bucky stand by the doorway.

He groans as he let's out a "please tell me I did not just flirt with James Barnes. Please tell me it's just a dream."

"no can do princess"

"how did I get here?"

"in your sickly state you walked in the rain all the way here. Almost got lost but kept saying you needed to fix a soldiers arm. We followed you to make sure you were alright. We didn't believe you then but now I can say that i am officially creeped out."

"amd why am I laying here with two grumpy super soldiers staring at me like they want nothing more than to tie me down and make sure I never leave this place?"

"give Bucky half a chance and he just might do that"

Tony sits up and accepts a glass of water and food from the younger Bucky before staring at all 4 of them.

"okay so stars and stripes is gonna be Cap, pipsqueak's is gonna be Rogers, 4 seasons is gonna be Bucky while his flirty self is gonna be James. How is this my life right now"

It takes 2 more weeks to find out that no, not only is this a time machine but it had sent them to a different universe. One where pipsqueak is in love and dating Peggy Carter, James is a playboy, Howard lost his sons Tony and arno a year ago and they are officially fucked.

While Bucky and his Winter counterpart that sits in the back of his mind trying to figure out what makes Tony so special that Steve still wants him back even though he said that he still loves Bucky and would do anything for him, Steve is trying to keep a flirty Tony away from an equally flirty James Barnes and it's not planning out well.

Bucky sees what Steve sees throughout an entire week. Tony even when angry still treats the super soldiers with respect and makes sure that Bucky is alright while sort of keeping away from Steve. He is careful with the pipsqueak Steve and makes a special inhaler that works twice as better for his asthma and always checks in with Steve when Peggy isn't there for him. Even though the younger Bucky hasn't gone through the Trauma the winter soldier has gone through, he always treads carefully around the other man while maintaining his flirty charm. Bucky sees that no matter what bad things happen, Tony gets back up after learning his lesson amd keeps on fighting. He's caring and thoughtful and holy cow Bucky thinks he might be falling in love.

Well not might be, he definitely has and oh boy is jealousy kicking up a fuss. After a day of working he hits the showers. Once done he hears noises and goes to check it out. The corridor that leads down to a bunch od empty rooms as well as Tony's because he wants to be left alone is lit up just enough for Bucky to see that Tony amd his younger self are arguing.

"no seriously you don't want to go there with me. I'm double your age fpr crying out loud. I have baggage among baggage of problems that i don't want to get into. Seriously James just no"

"what are you afraid of? That I would do exactly what your Steve did to you? Cuz I won't. Oh don't give me that look gorgeous, i just worked my charm and talked Steve into telling me everything about you. I know hr doesn't like me but he likes you enough tp go on an excited little journey."

"shut it tall, dark and handsome. You don't wanna open that can of worms"

"oh but I do because your Steve seems so inclined on trying to keep me away from you"

"he's what?"

"everyone knew. That's why my Stevie is always around. To make sure you or me don't get hurt"

"he doesn't like me like that. He thought he did but gave it up for your winter soldier look a like."

"well since you are so sure why don't you just let me in"

"ugh god you are annoying"

Bucky clenches his hand as he watches a chuckling smirking James Barnes corner Tony against the wall. James grabs Tonys hands and pushes them above Tony's head before leaning down.

"since Steve told me to stay away from you because your his, why don't we go amd break his rules. Let me have you Tony. All of you. Fuck Steve"

Bucky feels something in him shatter as he hears Tony breathe out a "your right. Fuck Steve" before letting James lean down and kiss him. It's not until clothes are off and Tony's legs are wrapped around James' waist is when Bucky turns around and walks away. He decides to that he is gonna tell Steve his new feelings and what he saw.

The next day onwards, Bucky and Steve do whatever they can to make sure Tony and James aren't alone. They don't trust little Stevie so they still stick around when he is there as well. This annoys Tony and James to no end.

One night, after everyone goes to sleep, Tony sneaks out and heads over to Steve and James's building. God Tony loves Brooklyn. He smiles as he knocks on the door. Peggy answers it and ushers Tony inside and sends him of to James's room. As soon as enters he's pushed up and against the door. In a matter of seconds all clothes are off and Tony is being pounded into by James. They go at it, making sure they keep quiet right up until the sun comes up. The two cuddle and fall asleep with smiles on their faces.

Tony is woken up hours later by a shouting match. He sits up as he notices james isn't next to him. After a minute or two, the door slams open and Tony groans as his Steve and Bucky barge in like they own the place....okay so they technically do but that's besides the point.

"Tony get up and get dressed. We are leaving"

"okay first of all I don't take orders from you Cap. Second of all why the fuck would i follow you?"

"we tracked down your father early this morning, explained the situation and not only does he want to meet you but he has already started building the machine you so reluctantly want to build"

Tony doesn't give a flying fuck that he is naked. He hops out of bed and glares at the soldiers.

"what in the actual fuck Steve! Going behind my back once again"

"like what you did to us last night?"

"fuck you winter wonderland!"

"fun's over. Tony get your clothes on. We are leaving right now"

Tony stares at James from behind them and they have a silent conversation. Afterwards James reluctantly nods and Tony sighs. They don't even notice that Steve and Bucky have been watching.

"god i hate you so much. Fine. Im getting dressed"

"shower first and then dressed"

Tony raises a brow at his Bucky in confusion. He goes with it anyway as he wonders why the soldier said that.

"fine. Shower first and then the clothes come on. Wait for me in the kitchen"

Tony watches Steve turn around and drag both Bucky's with him before he closes the door and heads to the bathroom for a shower.

After a couple of minutes he jolts as he feels hands on his hips. He raises his head amd a brow in question.

"I told your two stalkers that i had to grab some things for my Stevie and Peggy. I jumped through the bedroom window"

Tony giggles as he turns around amd brings James down for a kiss. Things get heated in the cold shower and James ends up fucking tony against the wall. Awhile later James puts on the clothes he wore before and headed out the window.

"wait"

James held himself up on the windowsill. Tony heads over and kisses James causing both of them to smile.

James says "we know where each other stays. We'll make it work" before winking and jumping out the window.

Tony let's out a content sigh before closing the window amd getting changed. He walks out smiling as he heads to the kitchen where he makes himself some shitty coffee and something to eat, ignoring the Soldiers questioning looks. Turns out that Tony was wearing one of James shirts and smiles a bit more as he eats.

When the 3 get back to the hideout, Bucky tells Tony to get changed into his own clothes and then pack. Tony glares and in retaliation packs his clothes amd keeps James' clothes on. He stomps outside placing his stuff in the old car they managed to steal amd sits in the back while tge soldiers pack everything else up. There's not much stuff that needs to be packed but it fills the boot and either side of Tony because he decides to sit In the middle that has no seatbelts. Steve just shakes his head and rides shotgun while a pissed Bucky starts the engine.

They head to Stark Manor and Tony makes sure to stay professional but he can't because Steve tells him there is plenty of security and Bucky says that they will know if tony leaves and he isn't allowed to see James or his friends again. Tony is down right pissed off but holds it in as he meets Howard and Maria Stark. A plan formulates in his head and he hides it behind a smile as he starts chatting away. He ignores Steve and Bucky's suspicious looks in favor of trying to get Howard on to his side which is fairly easy because this one is nothing lkke his real shitty father. This Howard even apologizes on behalf of his one which is a surprise because Howard never apologized.

A month of building the machine that will get him home, Tony tells Howard to group up a couple of people that he is happy to assist witj (becaise he knows exactly who they are) amd create a super solider serum that was used for a war ("how are you guys not in the middle of a war? I guess my universe is just stupid"). He even gives him names of 2 people who would benefit from this as well.

A week later Steve and Bucky are pissed when a smug Tony drags in their younger counterparts with Howard behind them. Howard tells the soldiers what he's gonna do and how the two along with Peggy are gonna be staying in the manor. The two soldiers groan as they once again have to keep Tony away from these guys which is hard because howard requires them as he wants to study their blood and run through some questions.

The next night Bucky heads to the kitchen to grab a drink when jealousy rears it's ugly head. He looks out a large window as a giggling Tony is being chased around by an equally giggly James in the rain while Steve and Peggy chat under some shelter. He growls as he sees James Catch Tony amd start tickling him. He feels and hears Steve's growly presence as they watch James pick a squealing Tony up and spin around. After a couple of spins Tony leans down and kisses James.

Steve slams his fist onto the bench. He tells Bucky to drag them inside before they get sick and heads down to the lab to see if he can talk Howard into building their machine faster.

It takes one more month before Howard and Tony create a machine to get the 3 lost warriors home and a machine to turn alt Steve and Bucky into Super Soldiers.

Steve and Bucky have it all planned out. They knew Tony wasn't going to tell them about the machine so they asked Howard. They tell Howard and his team to test the serum first. While the younger ones are in the machines set up for them and have been activated, steve nods towards Bucky. Ignoring everyones screams of shock, Bucky activates the time/universe jumping machine amd watches as Steve throws Tony over his shoulder amd they jump through the ! machine.

They are sent back to their time and universe which is great for Steve and Bucky. Not so great for the crying and screaming Tony that's mashed between the two. They hold Tony place as he screams out how he wants to go back. They don't let him.

2 years later Tony looks up in shock as a bright light surrounds him before disappearing, leaving a smirking buffed up James Barnes. James smiles happily before staring Tony directly in the eye.

"I finally found you. I've come to bring you home"

Within those two years the two original super soldiers have had no luck trying to win over Tony. They make sure that none kf Tony's dates comes back for more. They are protect amd possessive over him.

As they head down to Tony's workshop they become jealous angry people who are yelling at Tony to get back there and stay put. They don't grab Tony in time and see red as a smirking James drags Tony through the machine.

Tony's life becomes a cat and mouse from then on. He bounces around between both universes. 2 obsessive soldiers kidnap him and bring him back to his og universe while his boyfriend saves him and takes him back to where he wants to be. It's a hard life but for him it's totally worth it

Burned Out Chapter 2

Summary: Patton starts to realize that maybe Roman is an essantal part of the group, Virgil’s starting to realize it too but Logan stands stubborn.

Chapter 2

"Good morning Kiddo!" Patton told Virgil as the anxious side came into the kitchen. The sides had their separate rooms but they also had a mind palace they shared that they all hung out together in.

Virgil grunted in response, mumbling a soft "mornin'" and continued his path to the kitchen. Virgil stopped at the coffee pot.

He grabbed his mug- Roman made all the sides their own specialized mug for Christmas one year. They all used them every morning. Virgil noticed Logan's and Patton's cups were sitting next to them as they both sat at the kitchen table.

Roman's white and gold mug sat lonely in the cabinet.

Virgil shut the cabinet doors, poured his coffee, and joined the other sides at the table. Patton was still in his cat onsie while Logan professionally wore his usual black button up and tie.

The logical side looked deep into the book he was reading. He sipped his own tea with one hand and held the book with the other- placing his mug down every minute or two to flip the page.

Patton was eating pancakes shaped like smiley faces with an overly obsessive amount of maple syrup. His coffee was a light color- filled with creamer and sugar. Virgil's nose crunched up at the sight of it- too much sugar. He looked back down to his mug filled with plain black coffee.

Virgil tiredly laid his head down, enjoying the quiet atmosphere. It was peacefully silent expect for the soft clanking of dishes as Patton ate and the flutter of Logan flipping a page. He closed his eyes.

He was only able to enjoy it for a moment before he began to feel uncomfortable. It was never this quiet in the mornings- something was off. Virgil started to feel anxious- worrying if there's something missing or something they didn't do. What was happening?

The anxious side looked up from where he had his head down and looked to the other sides.

He knew Roman wasn't there but Roman didn't make THAT big of a difference. Roman was just obnoxious and loud- maybe this peace was a good thing?

Sleep- or Remy- was no where to be found but Remy didn't come by often anyway. Deceit sometimes showed up in the morning but he usually stayed in his room, he liked to be mysterious like that.

Every once in a while a different side would show up but Thomas' four main sides always showed up without fail.

Virgil looked to Patton beside him and panned over to the spot across from him- where Roman usually sat next to Logan.

Virgil set his head back down on the table.

"Logic! Creativity! Morality! Anxiety!"

Suddenly 3 of the sides were all warped to Thomas Sander's living room. Logan adjusted his glasses and necktie as Patton fixed his hoodie around his neck.

"What could possibly be the dilemma today, Thomas?" Logan inquired as they looked to Thomas.

Thomas looked very clean as always but instead of a fun flashy outfit he usually wore. He wore a grey polo and plain blue jeans.

Thomas had a small stack of different pamphlets in his hand as well as his laptop open on his lap.

"Hm? Oh I don't have a dilemma really, I just need help picking a college to study at" Thomas told them casually as he clicked through his laptop.

The three sides looked at each other, growing silent.

"Did you say college?" Logan asked hopefully, excitement growing in his expression.

Thomas nodded, "Yup! I’m thinking about studying for astrology but I don't where where I should go that's best for that" Thomas told the three sides, "I was hoping you guys could help me choose?" He asked.

Logan let out an excited breath, holding his fists up, "Satisfactory! I am...extremely filled with happy emotions because of you deciding to extend your studies!" Logan tried not to sound too full of excitement, but it wasn't fooling anyone.

Virgil shrugs, "Seems cool to me but..Is college what you really want to do? Will it full fill you in life?" The anxious side asked, "What about everything else you want to do?"

Thomas shook his head, "I don't..really want to do anything else, except Youtube but I can do both" he tells the group.

Logan cleared his throat, "Well we could try to certain fit both things but-"

Patton interrupted, "What about becoming an actor? You want to be an actor right?"

Thomas looked up and hummed, thinking for a moment about it. Thomas shook his head, "Not really, theater's kind of dumb" he responded and went back to looking at his computer.

The sides all looked at each other- Theater was everything to Thomas, what changed?

Patton chuckled nervously, "I think we need Roman here, kiddos" he announced to the group.

Logan shook his head, "I don't see why he is needed. He will just confuse Thomas and try to convince him to pursue other career paths that will not be ideal to Thomas' future." Logan didn't want the unrealistic dreams of the the creative side getting in the way of Thomas' future.

Patton looked to Virgil for help.

Virgil shrugged, "Being an actor is too... unreliable. Going to college is too much commitment..." Virgil mumbled, not sure how he felt about this.

Logan nodded, "Yes it is a lot of commitment but in the end you will be filled with more knowledge, and you can easily find a stable job to suit your life style."

Patton glanced around. He was not feeling very happy at the moment. The happy pappy father figure was starting to panic and freak out. He didn't know what was right and what was wrong.

Becoming an actor has been a dream of Thomas' for a long time. He was excellent at the art, he had the ability to go on and become huge in the acting community. He was already extremely successful in past productions.

Yet, Thomas would thrive in college. He would be able to set up a stable career to do his entire life. Would that make Thomas happy?

Morality looked to the spot that the creative side usually stood and knew there was something wrong with him. Roman took care of Thomas dreams, what makes him happy and what Thomas wanted. If Thomas didn't want to act anymore, then there was definitely something wrong with Roman.

"Guys I think we really need Roman, he's-" Patton tried to vouched for the princely boy but was shushed.

"There is no need! Now Thomas...which Colleges are you looking at?" Logan told Patton and leaned over Thomas' shoulder to be able to see the computer screen. Virgil shrugged and begrudgingly joined Thomas on the couch, slowly followed by Patton who was awfully quiet.

Roman fixed his hair right before he rose to the shared mind palace. "Greetings wonderful-" Roman paused as he spotted no one there, "citizens...?" He added slowly and uncertainly.

He knew he got up late, he didn't know he had missed breakfast. Usually another one of the sides woke him up, as they all religiously had breakfast together.

Roman felt hurt by it, it was obvious they had already been through here. Logan's book sat open on the table, Patton's dirty plate sat there along with Virgil's half empty mug. Roman sucked in a breath as he tried not to lose confidence.

He smiled to himself as he waltzed over to the table, looking at the assortments.

He his smiled turned sad as he saw the mugs, remembering when he spent multiple nights staying  up just to design them. Logan's was the hardest, trying to find a calm design that would suit the boy the best. He decided on something simple and sophisticated would do for him.

flashback

Roman came running into the room from the kitchen. He could hear Patton’s loud lovely laughter as he was attacked by a puppy. He was wearing a cat-themed Christmas sweater that was a bit of a mess as Virgil tried his best to sow it together. He wasn't the best with fabric but the entire group loved the work anyway. It was a gift from Virgil's heart that made Patton happier then ever.

Logan was wearing a white button up with a mistletoe printed on the breast pocket. He also had a very colorful tie. The tie was all Christmas green but had colorful Christmas lights printed on it with little ornaments to make the entire tie look like a tree. Roman gifted him the garment last year.

Virgil was also very festive. He was wearing a red and white Santa hat on the top of his head. He wore a Nightmare Before Christmas themed sweater and black fuffly pajama pants with candy canes all over them.

Roman a customized sweater that read 'King Of Christmas' and had a golden Santa hat on it. He wore a pair of fluffy white pajama pants with little crowns all over them to create a pattern. He also wore a golden Santa hat on his head to top it all off.

Roman sat down on the couch of their shared mindpalace that all four of them had decorated to fit the season. He placed a bag on the ground beside him, full of his gifts.

Roman hugged a stuffed animal sowed to make Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. It was Virgil's gift to Roman this year, another thing that he sowed together. It had jagged stitching and none of the threads matched the fabric but Roman loved it anyway.

Roman had never felt more at peace as he listened to Logan and Virgil happily discussing a plot to a book they both had read and Patton's happy giggling and laughing as he played with puppies. Roman watched his three favorite people adoringly as they were all so happy and at peace.

Roman stood up, "Its my fabulous self's turn! All bring your attention to me!" He said dramatically and grinned charmingly. Patton looked over, trying to stifle his giggles and trying to get the puppy to stop licking his face. Virgil and Logan looked up, placing books they got for each other on their laps, and smiled at the creative side.

Roman picked up the bag, "This year I went a little small, so I do apologize" he tells the group.

"Im sure your gifts will be satisfactory" Logan told him encouragingly.

"We'll love it anyway!" Patton said loudly and happily. Virgil just nodded in agreement, a soft smile on his lips.

Roman laughed, "Thank you, thank you. The first is for my favorite paper clip and best friend here!" He pulled out the first gift which was wrapped in dark blue paper, "Logan!"

Logan looked up, slightly confused at the title that was given to him. Logan turned slightly red in embarrassment as the sides all were looking at him. Patton was smiling like crazy.

Roman handed him the small box, "I hope it is everything you have wished for!" He tells Logan.

The logical side took ahold of it. He pushed his glasses up his face before he started to unwrap the gift. Logan pulled the stings of the ribbon and neatly and carefully unpacked it.

He set the wrapping aside and slowly opened the black blue box. He reached in, pulling out an obnoxious amount of sparkling blue tissue paper. He finally pulled out the gift himself.

The mug was black with a thick stripe of dark blue in the middle. In the stripe showed Logan's favorite constellations to represent his love for astronomy. On the front of the mug showed a small version of Logan's logo of the brain and glasses, under it was cursive letters that said "Logan"

Patton let out a soft 'Woah' as he looked at the mug. Virgil even looked impressed. Best of all Logan looked at it with wonder and a sparkle of love in his eyes. As he processed the cup and the hidden meanings behind it, he slowly let a smile fill his face.

"This is certainly ideal...and has excellent craftsmanship" he tells Roman, extremely impressed with it as he turned it, looking at each of the constellations. He set it down on the coffee table before standing.

Roman's grin turned into confusion and slowly into shock when Logan gave him a firm and quick hug. He pulled away quickly- as Logan hated physical contact.

"Thank you, Roman" Logan told the creative side.

Roman couldn't have grinned wider.

Roman grinned at the cup. He reached down and picked up Logan's bookmark and set it between the pages of his book. He closed it gently and pushed in the chair. He picked up the empty tea cup and the book to put them away. Roman set the book on the table beside the couch, knowing that's where Logan usually resided in the evenings.

Roman headed back to the kitchen and cleaned out the mug. He set the mug back in the cupboard next to his own.Roman returned to the table and went to Patton's things. The plate was covered in syrup yet no pancakes were left. Roman picked up Patton's mug.

Patton's mug was the easiest to figure out what to put on it. Patton was more open with his emotions and about things he loved.

Flashback

Roman looked at Logan, "No problem, friendo!" He told the logical side and patted his shoulder.

Patton snagged the cup to look at it, sitting cross-legged on the floor by Roman's feet. Logan sat on the couch like a normal person. Virgil perched on the coffee table- as the kid liked to find places you're not supposed to sit and sit there. Roman sat back down on the couch, the opposite side of where Logan sat. Roman pulled out a pale blue box with yellow ribbon around it. Patton gasped and set Logan's cup down after looking at it. Embarrassingly hasty, Logan snatched the mug back.

Roman handed Patton the box while Patton bounced excitedly. Patton was less neat with the box and ripped it open like a child. He tore the gold sparkled tissue paper out and ripped out his own mug.

"Its SO beautiful!" Patton screamed, "I love it!" He hugged the mug to his chest.

This mug wad a pale blue with yellow boarders on the rim of it. The handle was also yellow. It had white clouds everywhere white kitten faces. On the front was a rainbow and under the rainbow's arch was Pattons logo- a heart with glasses. In a gold print it said 'Patton' in cursive.

Roman laughed as Patton squealed over his gift. Patton stared down at it and started rambling about everything on it.

"Oh my gosh there are kitties! And clouds!! And look at the rainbow! There's my name!" He gasped at the porcelain piece of work. Roman grinned widely. He had never been happier to see his work be appreciated and loved by his fellow sides. Patton set the mug down before springing off the floor and tackling Roman in a hug. Roman let out a soft 'oof' yet laughed with Patton.

"Thank you thank you thank you!" The childish father figure repeated as he squeezed Roman. Roman hugged him back loosely.

"I am overly joyed you like it Patton!" He tells him. Patton eventually pulled away and nodded viciously.

"Its perfect!" He giggled quieter as he grabbed the mug and skipped to the kitchen to put something in it.

Roman watched him go then looked down at the two other sides. Virgil and Logan were watching Patton with adoring expressions as he hummed and poured tea

Roman grinned and picked up the plate, fork and bottle of syrup. He gripped the lightly colored mug and headed back to the kitchen. He ran the dishes under the water before finding a sponge and making sure all the sugary substances were off all of it.

After so, Roman returned the plate and the fork back to their own cupboards and drawers, and the syrup back to the pantry. Lastly Roman opened the cup cupboard and placed Patton's mug neatly next to Logan's.

Roman shut the doors to it gently. He looked over and saw just Virgil's lonely mug sitting at the table.

Roman walked over to it, picked up the mug, and turned it in his hand. Virgils was decently easy to come up with yet took the longest to actually make.

Flashback

Roman, Logan and Virgil waited for Patton to return. The happy heart bounced back quickly but with his mug full of tea and lots of sugar. Virgil began to slowly move backwards and shrink into himself. The anxious side knew he was next for gift receiving and started to feel anxious about it.

Roman grinned at the side, "Come over here, you emo nightmare" he waved him over.

Virgil hissed at him.

"Calm down there, black panther, ill come over to you" Roman laughed as he pulled out a dark purple box with black ribbon. He stood and extended his arm to Virgil who carefully took ahold of the box.

Virgil gently placed the box in his lap and carefully removed the ribbon, before gently tearing into the paper. He opened the plain box underneath to reveal black tissue paper with purple and blue sparkles in it.

Virgil lifted a mug out of the box, similar to the others. Virgil's mug was hand painted all different purples to make an ocean. Roman spent the longest on this one, getting every small detail perfect of the scene. The front of the cup had Virgil's logo and in cursive silver letters it read 'Virgil' under it.

Everyone was silent for a moment as they looked at the mug. Roman curled back a little with insecurity.

"I-I know its not your style or anything but I know your favorite color is purple! And plus you're like an ocean- deep and mysterious and uh....beautiful" Roman's face was rising in heat as the other sides stared at him. Virgil's eyes widened before he looked away from Roman. The creative side panicked and quickly moved on.

"Plus!" He said overly loud and let our a nervous chuckle, "Photos of nature, like the ocean, is supposed to calm anxiety... So...yeah.." Roman explained himself. He was so proud of Virgil's but he was feeling so incredibly insecure about it now that he was getting so little response.

Virgil suddenly sniffed. Everyone’s eyes shot to him.

"I hate you" Virgil told Roman. Roman's heart dropped, dread filling his body. He was so convinced Virgil would like it- now he just made Virgil hate him more then he did before.

Virgil wiped his eyes, "Its beautiful and I love it" he tells the other sides. You could visibly see relief in all their expressions.

Roman was so confused, "Then why do you still hate me so?" He asked Virgil. The kid wiped his face and looked up at Roman. He had a genuine grin on his face.

"You're ruining my tough dark persona by giving me such a thoughtful gift" he confessed and let out a gentle chuckle. He looked down at the mug with a grin and held it close.

Roman smirked, "Tough and dark? You're wearing a Santa hat and a Christmas sweater"

The sides erupt in laughter. They were all so sincerely happy.

Roman chuckled out loud to himself as he looked at the mug. He pushed in the anxious side's chair in and walked to the kitchen sink. He gently set the cup down, letting a soft 'clink' echo through the empty kitchen.

Roman picked up a rag and dampened it. He made his way back to the table and wiped it down. Once it was adequately cleaned he returned to the sink. He poured out the now cold coffee and cleaned out the cup. He was careful to clean it properly.

He dried off the mug and walked to the cup cabinet. He swung open the door and placed Virgil's mug next to the other 3 to complete the set. Roman grinned at them, seeing all 4 of the mugs lined up.

Roman looked at his own mug, reaching in and pulling it out. He had made it himself aswell. He cradled it in his hand.

Roman frowned at it.

Flashback

Roman's laughter died down eventually and Virgil placed his mug too the side. Roman stood up, happy to have finally gifted the sides his creations.

"Do you want to know what else is quite awesome?" He asked the other sides.

"Nothing can be more cool them these incredible cups! We can have a big T party!" Patton giggles as Logan groaned.

Roman chuckled at the father figure, "This may not be as cool as you're mug but I believe its absolutely perfect in every way" he told them dramatically. He heard a giggle from Patton and a grunt from Virgil.

Roman reached into the bag and pulled out a fourth mug.

This mug was all white with gold glitter spread thinly around it. The rim was spiked up to make a crown-like shape at the top. The crown was gold and had shiney gems on the front and around it- all of them red. The front of the mug had Roman's logo on it- the red crest with a castle on it. Under it, it read 'Roman' in cursive letters.

Roman beamed.

Logan snorted, "Typical"

Roman's smile faltered. He looked at Virgil who smirked, "Made yourself a Christmas gift? That's a new low" he mumbled and looked down at his own mug.

Roman's smile faded, "I didn't make it for myself! I mean well-" he was cut off.

"Who did you make it for then?" Logan asked with a teasing grin on his face. Roman knew they probably didn't mean it but he still felt hurt by their accusations. He never tried to be self centered, he always pushed to care for others. He was the romantic side- he felt empathy any sympathy and always did his best to woo his fellow friends. He hated being accused of being full of himself.

"Well, me. But not because I-" Roman tried to respond but was cut off again.

Virgil chuckled, "Of course he made one for himself" he commented.

Patton grinned, "I think its cute!!" He added into the conversation.

Logan shrugged, "Its a bit...uh...narcissistic- I mean self absorbed- I mean odd" he admitted and fixed his glasses.

Virgil shrugged and leaned back, "Only making us mugs so you can have one too? Tsk tsk, Prince" Virgil teased as he 'shook shame' at him with his fingers.

Suddenly there was a loud ding.

Patton gasped, "Cookies are done!" He yelled and jumped up. Virgil and Logan started chatting about the upcoming cookies and weather or not Patton has burned them.

Roman looked down at his own mug silently, suddenly hating the work in his hands. He admired it for a moment, "I made it so we could all match...like A family" he muttered but it was too quiet to be audible. The other sides continued to chat as Roman set the object aside.

Roman felt his eyes sting, remembering how he felt at that time. He burrowed his eyebrows together and scrunched up his nose to avoid letting the tears fall. Roman closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He gripped the mug tightly and ran his other hand over top of it.

When the creative side opened his eyes and looked at his mug, it was now blank. The sparkly, golden and colorful mug was now just a simple white mug- all of its designs gone.

He let out a sigh and placed the white mug on a shelf above where it sat before. The now white cup sat next to the rest of their plain mugs and apart from the three special ones on the shelf below. It blended in too well for Roman's liking.

Roman looked at the 3 mugs without the 4th one. It looked better now.

Roman gently shut the cupboard and let out a deep breath, feeling an anvil in his heart weighing him down. He took one last look around the empty room before heading back to his room.

He was too busy thinking he didn't notice how transparent his hands had become.

HOW CUTE WAS THAT PIZZA FIC??? Can we have the same kind of set up but with Aaron Samuels?

One of the strange things about staying home for college instead of leaving was seeing everybody else come and go during breaks.  For months, you could go to the store without seeing anybody you graduated with, and then you would suddenly see three or four people you’d never wanted to see again.  You’d have to ask those obligatory questions, you’d forget the answers immediately, and you’d have to do it over and over again.

It was the worst.

Summer began, your old classmates came home, and Chicago felt far too crowded.  The best solution to the overcrowding was, for now, staying home.  Thank God for takeout.  

You had grown used to getting the same two or three pizza delivery guys, all of whom were in high school.  They were about as disinterested in you as you were in them, so the exchange was quick and painless.  Today, you opened the door, and it was not a kid on the other side.

“Aaron Samuels,” you said, voice going up an octave in your surprise.  You cringed.  “Hey!”

He smiled, and your throat felt a little tighter.  You hadn’t been ready to see anybody today, least of all somebody who actually mattered.  “Y/N!  It’s been a while.”

“For sure,” you said.  You had seen him around a few times since graduation - at the store, movies, graduation parties.  Normal places.  Never on your doorstep, in a work uniform.  “So, you’re a pizza guy now?”

“College was too much,” he sighed.  “I thought this was a better career plan.”

“Totally,” you said, working to keep a straight face.  “Work through the ranks.  Save your tips.  Buy the city.”

“Pizza is the future,” he said, and handed you a receipt to sign.  “No - this is my summer job.  I wanted to make a dent in the decades of college debt ahead of me.”

Aaron was at some out of state school, though you couldn’t remember which one.  It hadn’t really mattered back then, when he was a popular guy with a popular girlfriend.

The problem with guys like Aaron was that he deserved his popularity.  He was worth knowing, worth liking, and thinking too much about him made you want to think about him more.  It had been easier to avoid thinking about him at all.  Now he was on your doorstep, and he had a pizza, and there was nothing else to think about.  You suspected that thinking about him now would be just as dangerous.

“Try to marry somebody rich,” you advised.  “No need for pizza deliveries when you have somebody to pay for your every whim.”

“I haven’t met anybody that rich,” he said.  “But I’ll keep an eye out.”

The pizza he gave you was still warm, and the smell hit you like a ton of bricks.  

“Have a nice day,” you said.  When he left, you wondered if you had said that many words to him in all of the years you were in school together.  You wondered whose fault that was.

Aaron was a good pizza guy.

You started ordering a lot of pizzas.

It had nothing to do with Aaron being a good pizza guy.

Probably.

“I’m going to ask a question that I should probably already know the answer to,” you told Aaron.

“Shoot.”

You schooled your face into the most casual, businesslike face you could manage.  You immediately started wondering if that was the wrong face - you wouldn’t be asking if you didn’t care about the answer.  “Are you still dating Cady Heron?”

“No,” he said, and his face was as blank as yours.  “No, we broke up a little after she started college.”

“Are you guys on good terms?”

He shrugged.  “We aren’t really on any terms.”

You had liked Cady.  She seemed nice, most of the time.  She seemed like the type of girl that Aaron would be good with.

“Is that a good thing?”  He didn’t seem totally broken; he was always genuinely cheerful when you saw him.  The way he looked now - carefully empty, like he was making sure not to react - did not seem as casual.

“She felt like we were heading in different directions.  I disagreed.  It didn’t matter; relationships have to be mutual, but breakups don’t.”  Aaron picked at the corner of your receipt compulsively.  “It’s been a while.  I’m fine.  I’m sure that she’s fine.”

“That’s good,” you said cautiously.  “Fine is good.”

“It’ll do,” he said.

“And you haven’t seen anybody since then?”  You were pushing things now, surely.  No casual face would mask the fact that you were asking if he was single.

“Nope.”  Aaron blinked at the receipt and smiled apologetically.  It was mangled in one corner.  “No, I’m not seeing anybody.  Are you?”

“No,” you said, and the nod he gave you was a little less than casual.

“If you find somebody rich to marry, you should pay for my pizzas.”

He snorted.  “Why?”

“Because,” you said grandly, “I’m tipping you really well.”

He hummed.  “So I should pay you back for paying me to do my job?”

“I’ll be your best friend,” you offered.  You felt like a six year old.  From what you remembered of six year old Aaron, he got in trouble for drawing turtles, no matter what he was supposed to be drawing.

That did not make six year old you want to be friends with him.  That definitely made current you want to be friends with him.

“That seems like an unequal friendship,” he said.  “If you want to talk to me, I have to bring you a pizza.  If I want to talk to you, I have to wait for you to order a pizza.  I’m not sure that it’s worth it.”

“Fine,” you said.  “I’ll add you on Snapchat.  You’ll still have to bring me pizzas.”

“I don’t have Snapchat,” he said.  As it turned out, Aaron didn’t really do social media.  You could see why - Northshore hadn’t had a great media environment.

“I guess I’ll have to buy my own pizzas,” you sighed.  

“I do have a phone,” he said.  Your eyebrows went up - the words had come out in a rush of air, like he had been as surprised to be saying them as you were to hear them.

“That’s good,” you said, not sure how he wanted you to respond.  “It’s hard to get a job when you don’t.”

“No - I mean, I don’t have social media, but I do have a phone.  If you wanted to be able to contact me.”  Aaron didn’t meet your eyes while he spoke, but the was a whisper of a smile that gave you a warm, jittery feeling while you wrote your number on a scrap of paper.

“So, now you can buy my pizzas.”

“No.”

“How long is your shift today?”

“Eight hours,” Aaron sighed, and the look he gave your pizza box was hysterical in its longing.

“I’ll bet you’re wishing for that sugar-momma now, huh?”  You opened the box and gave a dramatic inhale.  “Oh, that smells amazing.”

“Don’t be cruel,” he warned.  “I deliver your pizzas.  Someday I’ll spit on it, and you’ll have no idea.”

“Now that you’ve told me, I will.”

“You won’t know when.  It could be next time.  It could be a year from now.  You’ll be terrified until I do.”

You shrugged.  “Fine.  I’ll use the request section to ask for literally any other pizza guy.”

You both knew it was a bluff, but he didn’t call you on it.

“I’ll recruit them,” he said.

“What, you’ll woo them into submission?”  Realistically, he could.  Aaron Samuels got more attractive by the day - or maybe you were just more attracted to him every day.  It was a thin line to walk, but you fancied yourself a decent acrobat.

“If that’s what it takes,” he said, and his smile had enough of a edge to it to make your chest flutter.  “Don’t play a player.”

You gave a snort of laughter.  “Aaron Samuels, a player.  Sure.”

“You’ll never see me coming,” he said.

The next time you ordered a pizza, you requested that he deliver it.

Y/N:  are you working?

Y/N:  i heard a funny joke, and i’ll tell you if you deliver my pizza

Y/N:  if youre working, dont reply for 3 minutes

Y/N:  im ordering a pizza

Aaron:  I wasn’t working.  I was sleeping.

Y/N:  yeah.  i know that now

Aaron:  What was the joke?

Y/N:  you lost your joke privileges

Aaron grinned, lopsided and wonderful.  “I can see the perks of the guy that controls dairy, from season one.”

“You’d be the perfect pizza guy,” you said, and he laughed.

“What about you?  What Misfits power do you want?”

“I’d be okay with the time travel,” you said.  That had always seemed like a no brainer to you - time travel was a prime power.  

Aaron took his hat off and ran his hand through his hair.  It was a hot day, and his hair was sticking up in wet clumps.  “You seem to have things pretty together.  Is there really something that you regret enough to go back in time for?”

You twirled the receipt pen around your fingers.  “I should have listened to My Chemical Romance before they broke up.”

“That would have made all the difference.”

“Mikey Way would have fallen in love with me, I’ll bet,” you said.

“And all of your college debt would be taken care of,” Aaron said, and the way he smiled made you drop the pen.

“What about you?  Any big regrets?”  You picked up the pen and handed it back, making your voice light and airy so you could ask a hard, heavy question.  “I’ll bet it’s Cady, right?  Maybe you’d go back and fix things with Cady - live happily ever after with your beautiful wife and decades of debt?

He shook his head, thoughtful.  “No, I don’t think I would change that.”

“No?”

“I regret the way things ended, maybe,” he said.  He handed off the pizza box, and you were so focused on his words that you almost didn’t take it.  “I don’t regret the fact that things ended.”

You picked at the hem of your shirt, not wanting to look too happy or too interested.  It would be so easy, when he was looking at you with that smile and those eyes, to believe that the only reason he was single was that he wasn’t with you.

“Maybe it would be different, though, if you went back,” you offered.  “You could go back and be with the Cady that loves you.”

“No.  The Cady who loves me isn’t the person I want to be with anymore,” Aaron said, and proceeded to say something about needing to go back to work.  More pizzas to deliver, and all that.  You didn’t have the chance to ask him what he meant.

It made you feel a little queasy to ask Aaron if he was excited to go back to school, and he looked a little uncomfortable while he answered.

“Yes and no.  I like school, but I really like not-school.”

You nodded.  “When do you go back?”

“In a couple of weeks.”  He held the pizza box steady so you could sign the receipt on it.  “I have less than two weeks before I stop working.”

“And I’ll have to break in a new pizza guy,” you sighed.  “What a shame.  You’ve been doing such a good job.”

“Tragic.”

Your feet shifted a little.  “And, you know, I’ll miss seeing you.”

Aaron’s face softened, and a few strands of hair fell in his eyes.  “I’ll miss seeing you, too.”

“If things were different -”  You paused, brow furrowing.

“What?”

“If you were staying, I think I would ask you out,” you said.  There was no point lying, not when he was about to leave.  If he didn’t like that, you would just start ordering more Chinese.  “We’d hang out all the time, and we’d be able to see each other every few days.  It would be really nice, and I think we could make it work.”

“Yeah,” he breathed.  “If I was staying.”

You took the pizza, stuck somewhere between happy that he hadn’t laughed and sad that he seemed as wistful as you were.  For the rest of your life, he was going to be your ‘almost.’

“Y/N?”

You paused, only able to see a sliver of him through the crack between the door and the frame.  “Yeah?”

He was almost smiling, but it wasn’t quite happy.  “If that was a roundabout way of telling me that you like me - likewise.”

You had not ordered a pizza, but Aaron was standing on your doorstep with one.

“I think that you’re doing your job wrong,” you said, raising one brow at him.  “You only give food to the people who paid for it.”

“I paid,” he said.  “Do you want it, or not?”

“I want it.”

Aaron gave a pointed look to the room behind you.  “Are you going to invite me in?”

You crossed your arms.  “Are you going to tell me what’s going on?”

“I haven’t found a rich woman to marry me,” he said.  “So I thought, hey, maybe I should start looking for somebody who I might like for reasons other than money.”

You bit back a grin.  “How’s the search going?”

“That depends,” he said.  “Are you going to invite me in?”

You took the pizza, making sure to let your fingertips touch his hands as you did.  He smiled, running his hands through his hair.

“This is only because of the pizza,” you lied.  “Anything for a pizza - even if I have to deal with a boy that’s leaving.”

“What if I promise to buy lots of pizzas?  I guess I’d have to visit sometimes, but it’s a cross I’m willing to bear.”

“I guess I’ll have to let you in lots of times.”

In the end, you would let him in empty handed.
