So. @quasar-crew made a post about all the fun fic ideas they've been thinking of and within that was an 'Everyone gets infected funtimes' au. It has consumed me.

Ashleys mutations mostly focus on allowing her to GET AWAY and doing it QUICKLY. Most of her time while infected with the Plaga is spent trying to get away from threats, so it responded to that when developing its 'improvements'. She's mostly based off of the Novistador enemies found in the later levels.

Her clawed feet allow for climbing and perching on small objects. Armor extends up the leg because lets be real bro. I saw Jacksepticeyes playthrough theres no way her legs didnt at least get OCCASIONALLY grazed by wayward bullets from Leon trying to shoot whoever is carrying her away. NEVER AGAIN. Her armor is not as strong as I would imagine Leons is because it needs to be light enough to allow her to fly.

The Novistador's only have three fingered 'hands' so that translates over by only mutating three of her fingers. She has mandibles but they're mostly meant as a last resort self defense, along with her new sharp teeth (TEEF. TEEEEEEEEEFFFF). They don't move much beyond slight up and down motions. She also has a nictitating membrane that rests on the edges of her eyes when not in use. It activates after she blinks (think like a windshield wiper clearing away debris) and also covers her eyes when she's flying. This does impede her vision a little bit, so its best for her to find somewhere to rest if she's up there to spy.

Ashley has considerably less armor than Leon because 1. thats not the focus of her mutation. the focus is allowing her to get away from threats and 2. because she needs to remain light enough to actually get in the air. Her wings are extensions of the Plagas legs that have shifted to rest more on its back than its sides. That way its less strain on her back muscles (shoulders are already so fuckin complicated bro). They move in more of an x motion than an up and down. The best thing to compare them too would be a hummingbird. I briefly considered looking to dragonflies and their flight, which led me to this very cool video but I think she's just too large for that to work. Her wings have no bones in them, instead relying on the Plagas strong exoskeleton (carcinization strikes again) to keep her lightweight but strong. In theory, if she practiced enough, she should be strong enough to just. Pick an enemy up, lift them into the air, and then drop them.

Her antennae are controlled by a small tendon anchored just above her ears. They act to gather extra sensory information. They can detect smell, temperature (fire chaser beetle style babyyyy), and they are sensitive to touch which allows her to sense wind direction when she's flying up high. When in a situation where too much is going on, they will flatten back to try and avoid sensory overload. It's like when you turn down your car radio to see a parking spot better.

Also, because I forgot to draw it sometimes, the armor on her back wraps around her neck to protect more of her main veins and arteries. Plus, no more choking so thats a bonus.

And heres just. Some random doodles because I ended up really enjoying drawing her (bonus Leon with an awkward cutoff because idk how I want to draw his feet yet. Some kind of fucked up digitigrade deal most likely I just haven't figured out the details.)

Feral Plagas!Leon but he acts more like an energetic cat that was just given catnip. The pills used to suppress the Plagas growth alongside the miniscule inactive viruses from his previous adventures just toasts the bug's original nature. It's relationship with Leon becomes akin to Venom with the mind of a stubborn toddler.

Don't give it sweets and the guy will be bouncing around like a lunatic until you catch him on a tree covered in fresh sap. Leon arches his back like the Halloween Black Cat with his tail plus spike spines flared up if spooked. Becomes a pure chittering mess if given anything that contains honey or maple syrup. Meat honey from vulture bees is Plagas!Leon's favorite so it's best to keep stock.

Complete and total hoarder. He loves to collect stuff in this feral state akin to a bower bird. If it gets Leon's attention, then it's added to his makeshift hive like nest. Man has a few scratching posts and something very durable to chew on. Got a tendency of stealing animals like rabbits or chickens for the purpose of being pets.

Any nest Plagas!Leon makes is a mix between old clothes, bedding materials, and a unique type of saliva he can produce. The slime is very adhesive that it'll put even the strongest glues to shame. Leon's saliva has minor healing properties.

It's usually made in a web form than liquid to heavily reduce the adhesiveness and make it easier to remove. He can also make a powerful acid with the purpose of making pathways. Leon has quite a number hidden in Spain with only one not made during a feral episode.

He is absolutely embarrassed once a feral episode comes to an end as he's fully conscious for every moment. Especially since tantrums are a given in this state and he'll wreck furniture out of spite. Saddler trying to control the parasite just pisses it off instead so Plagas!Leon is even more vicious when fighting the cult.

In fact, he will even EAT the other Plagas as rage lets loose cannibalistic tendencies from its altered nature. A good chunk of insects do feed on other members of their species so don't be surprised if its true here. Leon later admits that they taste like chicken much to Ashley's disgust and Luis' morbid fascination.

Zoomies happen a lot even more so during a feral episode. His body tends to produce too much energy and Leon has to expel it. A human sized hamster wheel or hamster ball is always brought up with Ashley even thinking of a design. Leon wasn't amused.

Completely territorial especially when a huge threat such as Krauser is nearby. Half the time Feral Plagas!Leon will cut down the threat or get his 'swarm' to safety. (Leads to a Luis lives situation) Ashley and Luis are HIS, same goes for anyone else that he can trust and likes.

Feral episodes has a 50/50 chance that he'll shift into 'bug mode'. His appearance heavily morphing to an insectoid yet oddly reptilian visage. It's completely random so what comes come. Plagas!Leon still acts the same although he might carry Ashley or Luis by the scruff of their shirt with his fangs.

His abilities are heavily amplified in bug mode than just size alone. Leon's acid can melt steel than just rock, his adhesive saliva now hardens into a cocoon like shell, and any webbing produced is able to treat more extensive injuries such as 2nd degree burns. You can say he's more of a tank or sentinel from roleplaying games in this state.

Overall, the man is just relieved that he isn't going to hurt anyone innocent thanks to his new infected status. Although Leon will never tell anyone about the time he almost ate a Karen's annoying corgi. Guy's Plagas was hangry that day.

Uncle Leon AU

A completely crack idea that everyone should have the chance to indulge in, whether reading or writing it. I recently got into Resident Evil and my gremlin ass thought about the potential Leon Scott Kennedy has. Our dear protagonist who debuted in Resident Evil 2 has a complete mystery of a family tree.

Leon is an orphan as according to RE Lore, his family had gotten killed due to being affiliated in a crime of some kind when he was a child. This immediately came to mind upon realization. Mr Kennedy looking into his family tree for any potential members. And thus the idea right here. Leon being an uncle or grunkle to certain characters.

I got at least two examples to put into perspective on how CHAOTIC this can be. Whether it involves an Infected(Plagas/C Virus/Mold)!Leon, is up to you guys but I can throw my hat in as well.

Trolls and Health

Yep. Starting with Tales of Arcadia specifically the Trollhunters section cause why not? Leon's gonna be Toby's relative as I figured he needs more familial support. Plus him trying to be sneaky around our secret agent sounds like a fun challenge.

For this, Leon is infected with Las Plagas Post RE 4, my version to be precise. (Picture for one of his forms and behavior here.) The standard design people usually use just doesn't intrigue my morbid curiosity hence the personal version. Luis will always live whenever I write something RE 4/Post RE 4 related. (The timeline has been adjusted to fit when Trollhunters take place so Leon is about 27-28.)

Anyway, Leon has been living on the run in Spain alongside the scientist after the events of RE 4. He had Ashley lie about him dying as he was scared about what the government would do if his mutated Las Plagas parasite was found. Luis stuck by Leon's side since he feels responsible for this whole mess and helps the agent manage his new infected status.

Both are contemplating their next potential hideout as the government have gotten interested in the rise of 'dragon sightings' or Leon's War Mode. There been at least two close calls so far much to their dismay. Suddenly Leon gets an email from his yet to be shut down email account.

A message courtesy of Toby asking about the two meeting up in Arcadia after a Ancestry search. Luis convinces Leon to take the kid up on his offer as Arcadia Oaks is known for various tall tales and any dragon sightings would be ignored. If his Las Plagas comes out then the thick woods can provide enough cover for him to hide and wait out a feral episode.

Thus the two stowaway on the next flight to the United States. Now it has been at least a few days since Jim became the Trollhunter so Toby warns his friends about a potential visit from his newly discovered uncle. The Raccoon City incident is known to them as there been a troll settlement nearby and news travels fast as trolls tend to gossip. Some evacuees had taken shelter in Arcadia Oaks before the bomb hit.

Leon and Luis are pretending to be married as neither thought of a proper cover-up for the scientist's appearance at Toby's house. (Serrendy shippers are welcomed) Now both men are currently staying there since they haven't found a proper house(hideout) yet.

Leon immediately grows suspicious at Toby and his friends' strange behavior especially when Gnomey is living in the house than just the cats. He has heightened senses thanks to his Plagas. Although Team Trollhunters are just as suspicious of Leon and Luis too.

Both cats come out of the bag around the same time especially since a potential cure for Leon can be found in Arcadia. And a certain Redfield is sent to investigate the strange happenings in town. Plus the silly antics especially when Leon has a feral episode around Toby the first time.

Our loveable chubby fellow would definitely bribe his infected uncle's Plagas with Nougat Nummies or have AAARRRGGHH!!! get some tree sap if it's a War Mode episode. Plus Toby getting carried like a kitten by Leon is both funny and cute to me.

Chitin and Fur

We're going for the Sonic route here as this what spurred the thought into life in the first place. Leon is a relative on Tom's side and stumbles across the Green Hills sheriff upon looking up his ancestry. Now G.U.N. functions separately from the branch of the government associated with Resident Evil as a whole.

They know partially about Raccoon City and DSO/BSAA have little on the "Green Hills Devil incident". I think I gonna have Leon show up just a few months after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog then him returning to Green Hills infected a few months after Sonic 2.

For the infection, it's split between Las Plagas and C Virus. I'm heavily leaning towards C Virus as I wouldn't have to adjust the RE timeline much. Plus the risks of Leon alongside Sonic, Knuckles and Tails being discovered by the RE branch has my attention more. It also gives me extra set up potential as our agent would be the driving force to Sonic's vigilante actions in the beginning of Sonic 2. Plus the C Virus incident throws enough shade on the movie's final act as the president holds more weight than anything.

For the first half involving Sonic 1, Sherry is the one to recommend Leon to look up his family tree. She figures maybe relatives outside of the whole agent life would help better than his alcoholic tendencies. One search later has Leon send an email to the Wachowskis about a visit.

Sonic, of course, is curious about Tom's recently discovered relative. They look up his name and weren't expecting to see him on the 'Raccoon City Survivor's list'. News of the incident hit Green Hills quite hard as some residents had family in the city during RE 2's events.

This leads to keeping Sonic out of Leon's sight as Tom and Maddie are worried about the man's reaction. Both figure the agent's stay was for therapeutic purposes with the sheriff being his only family left. Now at first, Leon doesn't think anything is off.

Sonic only triggers his intuition twice but the man brushes it off. Crazy Carl is what got Leon on edge when the agent comes across the man at the local bar. Wade offered to take him for a drink and the loveable man did his best to throw any suspicion about Sonic's existence off.

It is when Leon finds one of Sonic's quills in the house does he investigate once Tom and Maddie leave for work. We get a reenactment of that fateful first meeting from the first movie as the two finally meet. Although the person who gets a tranquilizer dart to the leg this time isn't Sonic since the hedgehog frantically calls Tom five seconds later about shooting uncle Leon in self defense.

You can bet your ass things are awkward for a week but thankfully end with a certain agent getting some personal healing after bonding with his hedgehog nephew. Then Leon gets infected by a variant of the C Virus and is on the run. He hears about something happening in Green Hills which leads him to run over.

Now Leon is mutated enough that he has to completely cover his body but oversized clothes can conceal his inhuman appearance. The problem with showing up at the Wachowskis home is only Knuckles and Tails are there. Sonic had left for a check-up with Maddie while Tom was at the station finishing some paperwork.

The two heard about Uncle Leon but received no warning of an impromptu visit. Knuckles opening the door is enough to spur a fight since both believe each other are a threat. Tails messaging an emergency text thankfully saves Leon from cocooning as the Echidna was using lethal force at the time. Everyone had been warned to not hold back against an infected individual.

Sonic had stopped Knuckles cause he realized the 'buggy man' was a fully sentient albeit slightly feral uncle Leon. Tom and Maddie are naturally horrified to see the state their relative is in alongside the story he had behind his infection. From there, the Wachowski household took Leon in as he had nowhere else to go.

Tails does his best to help with his uncle's Infected status by creating viral inhibitors until a cure can be found. They did contemplate using the Master Emerald but Leon disagreed. A scientific cure wouldn't put such powerful artifacts in danger nor his family in a greater one. Plus it could benefit any C Virus infected survivors if they're like him.

Now everyone has to be careful as Leon cocooning could put them at risk. Both in exposure and the man potentially going berserk due to the mutation. Despite this, he does cocoon twice as one incident leads to Helena showing up in Green Hills.

She had been on the lookout for Leon as she caught a glimpse of him getting infected in the final battle. Claire alongside Chris follow behind albeit their respective reasons are different. Helena aims to put him out of his misery, a decision fueled by trauma, while the Redfield siblings seek to capture him alive in hopes of curing Leon.

This does lead to both groups getting more than they bargained for as Team Sonic run into them. An incident that leads to Leon's interference and the huge future clusterfuck amongst both branches of the government. To any wondering, yes, our dear evil geniuses have met before.

Albert Wesker and Eggman hate each to the point they would dance on each other's graves. Pure archenemies with enough bad blood for lethal sabotage. They, of course, foiled the respective attempts which led to the split between government knowledge.

C Virus Leon S. Kennedy

Since I done a Feral Plagas Leon, why not move onto C Virus? This is gonna be much different than most portrayals of those infected in the virus or any C Virus!Leons. He's quite eldritch here and eldritchness isn't something I tend to hold back on. Let's get started.

Traces of the various viruses and parasites Leon came in contact over all his adventures lay dormant which leads to the entire C Virus becoming something else, something self aware. He cocoons after RE 6 events once any possible infection is deemed negative to everyone. Leon unconsciously goes to an abandoned mall and the process takes place.

It takes a week for him to come out as this new strain of C Virus is planning an effective evolutionary route. An 'ultimate life form' spiel with temporary mutations for emergency cocoons and planned permanent ones once it deems Leon stable enough to handle it. He comes out bearing insect traits as the base which leads to a titanic chimeric final evolution.

Feral episodes are a mix between feeding frenzy and 10 cats who just been given catnip. Any episode dealing with food stems from Leon's body preparing to cocoon for a permanent mutation. The splurge diet depends on what species is going to join this incomplete chimera and vitamin sources. Avian? Leon is hunting a mix of bird species from pigeons to harpy eagles.

Catnip cat episodes are basically the zoomies on steroids. It's best to have a remote control drone for Leon to chase as you are most likely to drop from exhaustion with any physical exercise before the man is even half way tired. Luckily his shit ton of energy tones down the closer he is to his final mutation.

Despite either kind of feral episode, he's harmless unless threatened. The worst Leon will do is maybe eat an asshole Karen's spoiled dog. If threatened, he'll respond with either lethal or nonlethal force depending on the threat in question. Zombies and other mindless infected aren't off the menu either. This strain will take any virus it can gets its hands on to the point Leon's revulsion to the thought is muted.

Very very clingy and is addicted to positive affection especially physical. Leon's true emotions are on full display during a feral episode as his C Virus strain deems his normal unhealthy behavior an issue. He needs to be mentally healthy too than just physically for any new evolutions.

Make sure you have something to do as Leon ain't letting ya out of his sight during a feral episode. Just a huge mess who purrs, chirps and chitters like a needy kitten. Leon is fully aware of his behavior so he's always embarrassed especially if he done any dumb shit such as chasing a laser pointer light.

There's a total of six stages for his 'evolution' not including the base. Only when Leon is halfway through does he gain the ability to shift into his human form. Although it lasts for four hours before the man has to change back but the time limit triples with each stage.

Leon's behavior and speech leans more on the primal side. He makes nests to sleep or rest in, fox dens for housing if there isn't a safe place to stay, even using animalistic terms. Pack for friends and family, mate for lover, whelp for children. Absolutely territorial when it comes to those he trusts or cherishes.

Leon chitters, purrs or nuzzles if he notices someone in his pack is distressed. This usually happens when words feel useless. Licking is an uncommon sign of affection from him. Leon courts like a bowerbird as his infected nature makes him a hoarder. Any interesting item often lines any nest he makes and he gifts his absolute favorites to whoever he's courting.

Molting is a rare occurrence but it does happen around late summer. Any husk left behind bears no viral traits nor DNA and serves as a very powerful fertilizer instead. It decomposes in minutes if not preserved. One molted skin can restore an entire forest to a healthy habitable state even if its heavily radiated or scorched earth.

Base C Virus Leon can produce webbing from his mouth, hands and feet. These webs can contain healing(green) or paralytic(yellow) properties based on the color. Leon is able to spit acid mainly for melting any obstacles and material for nesting purposes. He retains any abilities from previous stages but they're more refined than the original.

Once he reaches his final stage, only way to kill him is by melting him down until nothing remains. Death by old age leads to a rebirth cycle akin to the immortal jellyfish and a phoenix. Leon's old body will crumble into fertilizer like substance similar to his molted skin albeit with his new infant human form hidden inside. A reset where memories of his past life return at eight years old while the metamorphosis begins at 18.

Extreme heat that is equal or greater than lava is required to effectively melt Leon down. Acid irritates his hide, crushing just makes it harder to move while long drops are a concussion and broken bones at best. He can regenerate from a small piece around an inch in size within two days. If the fragments belongs to a vital organ then its six hours to one day depending on the part. (Heart and brain are the quickest.) Basically its best to kill him before the final stage.

Leon will have a major existential crisis about the whole thing. Although he resolves to use his new infected status to combat anymore B.O.W and biological terrorist group by himself if needed. Leon will try to keep a down low but possible slips are bound to happen. Especially when his friends discover he's alive.
