To Hate Israel for What They've Done to Palestine is not Antisemitic
It's not antisemitic to hate Israel for what they've done to Palestine, but it's antisemitic to hate Jews for what's happening in Palestine now. The State of Israel and the Jewish people are not the same.

Hundreds of Jewish marchers chant 'death to Arabs' outside Old City's Muslim Quarter. Participants in the flag parade chant racist slogans:"Death to the Arabs" and "A Jew is a soul, an Arab is a son of a whore" near the Damascus Gate as they prepare to march through the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City. Re-visiting Eqbal Ahmad's book launch at Harvard with Noam Chomsky
A message from the journalist Amitabh Pal about a mutual friend, David Barsamian of Alternative Radio in Colorado reminded me of this piece published in 2006, about an event with Noam Chomsky where I first met David. Sharing as it's still relevant.
A message from the journalist Amitabh Pal about a mutual friend, David Barsamian of Alternative Radio in Colorado reminded me of this piece originally published in The News on Sunday, 8 Oct. 2006, about an event with Noam Chomsky where I first met David. The article is still all-too relevant, but the link no longer works so I’m sharing the piece here without any changes; just added some…

Lebanon warns against Israeli aggression in disputed waters

Lebanon warns against Israeli aggression in disputed waters
Tumblr media
Beirut (The Times Groupe)- After Israel’s gas-producing ship arrived off the coast of Lebanon, the country warned against any “aggressive action” in disputed waters where both countries would like to develop offshore energy.
The Lebanese President Michel Aoun said any activity in the disputed area would amount to an act of aggression and a provocation, after the arrival of the natural gas storage and production ship operated by London-based Energean (ENOG.L).
The field in question is within Israel’s exclusive economic zone, not in disputed waters.
However, the presidency said Aoun discussed the vessel’s entry with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and requested accurate and official data from the Army Command to build on the matter”.
In addition, Aoun noted that negotiations to demarcate the southern maritime border continue, and any activity or action in the disputed area is considered provocative and aggressive”.
The Israeli government did not respond immediately to Aoun’s statement. Karine Elharrar, Israel’s energy minister, welcomed the arrival of the vessel and hoped it could be brought online quickly.
“We will continue to diversify the energy market and keep it stable and reliable,” she said.
Earlier this week, Energy said its floating production storage and offloading vessel arrived at the Karish field, about 80 kilometers west of Haifa in Israel’s exclusive economic zone. The company says it will be operational by the end of the third quarter.
Mikati said Israel was “encroaching on Lebanon’s maritime wealth, and imposing a fait accompli in a disputed area”, calling the situation “extremely dangerous”.
In 2000, the United States began mediating indirect talks between the sides to resolve a long-standing dispute between old foes that obstructed energy exploration in the eastern Mediterranean. Hizbollah, which is heavily armed and backed by Iran, has fought numerous wars with Israel in Lebanon.
Hizbollah has previously warned Israel not to drill for oil and gas in the disputed area until the issue is resolved, saying that it would take action if it did.
Israel and Lebanon have both made claims at the United Nations regarding their maritime borders. Israel’s claim runs farther north and Lebanon’s runs farther south, creating a triangle of disputed waters.

Would love it if people stopped fandomising the war. Like person XYZ wouldn't have an opinion cause they are a fictional character.
People are dying. People are starving to death, dying from bombs and gun fire in a war that the majority of them did not want to start. This is not your blorbo fandom. These are real people.
I get that it's overwhelming and scary and horrifying but if it is too much for you, no one will blame you for logging out for a couple of days and just processing. Coping by forcing war into fandom spaces that people go to try and escape the horrors of real life is disgusting.

I know this is just Eurovision but I guess it’s important to mention it’s not really a shock how much europe sucks up to israel. Like it was surprising to me in the moment (I felt that their song was average) but when you think about it… Europe did everything for israel. Like it wasn’t israel on their own taking palestine and fucking up those existing communities and stealing their land. And it’s still not just israel committing horrible crimes against Palestinians now. Europe has always had involvement in the Middle East and especially palestine. Israel would not be a thing without them. And they continue to give israel support so they can continue all this violence against Palestinians. Europe does not see palestine like they see Ukraine. They are so far removed from the horrors that Middle Eastern people experience. They speak about peace and then fund and supply israel with anything they need. Not to mention a lot of Israelis are originally European. And this doesn’t just apply to Eurovision, but also any competition or event israel is invited to. Everyone was so quick to boycott Russia from everything… surely israel should get the same treatment.

Don't forget that the US also called Nelson Mandela a terrorist. It's very clear now that today's ideologically inept white liberals would have lapped that shit up.

[ISRAEL HAS NO JURISDICTION IN THE WEST BANK]
Tumblr media
How can a foreign country imposed their laws on another nation when they are not even citizens of that country?
Israel being a creation of the United Nations, are bound by the United Nations resolutions and borders which specifically creates which areas form part of “Israel”.
Tumblr media
It’s no surprise that a country without a formal Constitution may easily get confused in understanding the real meaning of “sovereignty” and “respect for the rule of laws”.
The West Bank is not even part of Israel, the Palestinians are not even granted Israeli Citizenship. Why and on what basis is Israel detaining Palestinians in their own soil when Israeli law only applies within Israel.
Can you imagine if your neighbouring country imposes their laws on your soil when you are not even a citizen of that country?
Tumblr media
We surely can’t but somehow the lawless apartheid regime finds no error in it.

How many children do they have to traumatize? Imagine this is anywhere in America where you send your kids to school.
