I had some wild dreams last night, the main one being about this new device that you strapped to your leg and that vibrated your eyeballs (yea thanks brain that sure makes sense) and allowed you to see 3D depth in specific games and it was really neat it reminded me of the 3DS but without need for a special screen and it had this weird side effect of making real life look more 3D somehow like I can't even really explain it I was just looking around at my surroundings, which was rows of computers and people and stuff and it all looked extra 3D it was so weird and then when I took the device off it turned out it attracted bugs while it was on?? who all died due to the vibrations??? so a bunch of dead bugs fell out and that was icky I didn't like that and then later there was a giant rainbow colored tsunami incoming and I knew it wasn't real so was trying to ignore it but it just kept progressing and eventually washing over me even tho I was just trying not to pay attention to it (and it didn't actually affect me cause yknow. it wasn't real) and also shaquille o'neal was there but as I looked at him closer he morphed into my dad

ok welcome to my album review rant today we're reviewing doyoung's album. it's a quite lengthy album too. tbh surprised at the amount of songs i actually enjoyed because ballards are usually a hit or miss for me, because i don't like hearing just straight vocals.

upon first listen, i lowkey almost tuned it out, i'm sorry... but second time listening to it, since it is the title track, i'm paying more attention to it. the song is very j-pop coded?? in my opinion, the ballad-rock kinda vibe does fit doyoung and this was what i expected, but a teeny tiny part of me was hoping for a little bit more sm core style of music, with the experimental stuff, but this works too. havent watched the mv yet but i'll check it out soon, maybe look up the lyrics translation, cause songs have more meaning when you understand the lyrics too.

tell me why it's giving mario kart... imagine listening to this while driving on rainbow road damn. no but this is such a car cruising driving song, and i pretty much liked it immediately upon first listen. the chorus is SO GOOD??? like doyoungs vocals shine on the whole album cause he's that talented but this one really demonstrates it i think. you can disagree with me lmfao idc. it's kinda giving 80s love ballad, and that's such a beautiful vibe of music i really like it a lot...

lowkey was a surprise to see mark and taeyeon featured on the album, but i actually really like this one. the vocals hard carried obviously, but mark + doyoung combo really hits hard lowkey they should do more stuff like this together. i'm a sucker for male-female vocal duets, so this one was so cute and sweet. i know why mark considers himself an "ARTIST" not a rapper lmfao. (also im waiting for mark's solo album...... SM PLEASE)

i got more appreciative of the song after the chorus came on, but it gives like jpop vibes?? jpop really has that hard metal/rock aspect, and this album has quite a few songs like that. all in all, this wasn't really a favorite favorite, but it definitely stood out to me because it wasn't a ballad lmfaooo. didn't add this one to my playlist but i do think it's pretty good.

this is so country coded guys...... and guess who actually listens to country? me anyways neat cause it's called dallas love field... but regardless i quite enjoyed this a lot, and seeing the country core vibes radiate off of this... like damn im gonna make doyoung cowboy edits soon just watch. I have a whole ass storyline featuring these two, spawned from that very okayish movie.

Also a spoiler review:

The sequel was pretty okay. I had a good time watching it. Obv it's very technically impressive and the way that the water ways is very good™️. The designs in general were very neat. Super pleasing from a guy who likes designs. I prefer looking at the human vehicles over the creatures but yknow, sucker for lower sci-fi stuff.

From what I remember of the first movie (which is almost next to none), I think I enjoyed the characters here a lot more. Super Memorable Main Character Jake Sully wasn't at all too interesting here. All he's really got is:

a) guerrilla leader, which the movie skips out a whole lot of potential in the prologue like seriously there was so much they could've done with that but they just didn't

And b) kinda strict father figure. Like I mean, it's something, for sure. But he never really does anything that a father figure wouldn't reasonably do. There was this bit in the beginning were his sons, uh. Noatok and Middle Child, mess up really bad and got a number of folks killed, but Jakesully kinda ignores that and berates Middle Child that he nearly got his brother killed. And his punishment for nearly screwing up a military mission? He's grounded. Around two thirds of what made this dynamic interesting was abandoned when the family bounced. Honestly though I can understand why his character takes a bit of a backseat as the film now has to devote screentime to his kids, which is more of an excuse than the previous film had.

Neytiri has largely the same issues too. I didn't really think of her as anything more than Scary Mom and Spicy Wife, but I don't rlly know what else they could've done with her.

That being said, I liked the kids a whole lot more even if the only ones who had an arc were Middle Child, Kiri, and Spider. Which is. More than ¾s. Anyways they were just kind of fun to be around even if I was getting a little tired of the discrimination aspect, though I understand why that exists. I'm especially happy with what they did with Kiri. Having that dynamic with Grace and Eywa was an amazing concept and I'm very interested to see what they do with it in the next one. I'm personally hoping we see Grace back in her Avatar.

Quaritch, compared to the last movie from what I remember, was way more interesting here than in the last movie (which is more than I can say for his squad. They weren't even particularly harder to kill than any of the human mercs. While the blue was flashy and cool, I'm disappointed with the lost potential here, even if it was only for better action scenes). It's good to see him with an attitude that isn't Military Man. He's also the main reason Spider exists, in and out of universe. At the beginning of the movie I was like "why does this kid exist besides the self inserts for young men" but during his scenes with Quaritch, I'm glad he does. I'm really into the esthetic of the military gear on the wyverns. Mega, Mega cool. Which is another thing.

I'm kind of disappointed with the treatment of the humans here. Very nearly none of them have any sympathetic qualities whatsoever. Even the ex-humans on the Naavi side were basically entirely useless. They only existed to paint a target on the Seal Naavi, telling Jakesully that, yknow, Kiri having seizures underwater could be bad (also it's very convenient that Naavi don't have the instinct to inhale when they suffocate like humans do. Very odd tbh) and to also claim that Kiris visions were caused by brain problems, which, while possible, they have actual, measurable proof that Eywa and her effects on the environment exist (I mean for fecks sake one of thems an Avatar too. Literally just stick him into a tree or some crap. I'm pretty sure they have recordings of Grace confirming this, no?). I sincerely hope this is improved in the next one, like Jesus this is a thing that took me out of the film for a bit

There's also this feeling that this whole conflict is really black and white, as in all the humans are bad guys and all the blue peeps are good guys. I'm no supremacist, and I understand that they're gonna do something with the concept with the introduction of the fire nation, but at least give us at least something to suggest that this conflict isn't that simple, like something more tangible than bullies for the blue side and, y’know, any sign at all that the humans are worried about the future of their people on the sky side.

Something besides all that, that I wish they did, was lean into the mixed esthetic like they did with Quaritch's wyverns. Something I think would've been cool for Jakesully's character. How, although he loves his wife and family and wants to separate himself from the worst parts of his heritage, he still mourns the things he lost. Even Especially if it was only the little things, like beer with friends or the general esthetics of Night City. Another thing that could've made the vibes more mixed. Like the weird coms gear that the Avatars use. I'd like some signs that both humans and Naavi have something to learn from each other, like some technical skills and even just an interest in cultural studies (if Eywa wasn't a force that solves damn well near all their problems and if they had a more open mind on anything that wasn't Eywa, although I could understand why they wouldn't considering the circumstances), and maybe, besides the incredible biology studies, a little bit of culture exchange on the humans side (if they weren't both desperate and assholes and led by a megacorp)

And besides that, some nitpicks

JakeSully's decision to leave when Avatars are targeting his family. Dumb, dumb on multiple levels. 1, You're like the only competent guerrilla leader of these people and you're leaving them high and dry. 2, You're leaving the hallelujah mountains, your most strongly defensible position, as on top of the general hostility of the entire planet, it has electro magnetic shenanigans that make the human instruments malfunction. And 3, if you decide to settle with anyone else, you'll be putting their community into danger by association because you cannot tell me you thought they were just gonna leave you alone if you disappeared from radar for a bit.

Everyone besides the kids lack of concern for Spider. JakeSully takes his family and bounces when he hears he's been captured (altho tbh what was he gonna do besides not leave, massive dumbdumb), and Neytiri takes him for hostage. She was emotional and they had Kiri, but still like wtf both of you. Butthole moves, you guys that was fucked

Why are the whales sapient? They don't seem to have admin privileges like the Naavi (or hands with which to create). What tf is the plan here Eywa

The mosasaur looking thing abandons the chase of a large fish out in open water, in favour of a much skinnier and more inconvenient Middle Child

The sea mercs plans rely nearly entirely on the whales refusal to retaliate in any meaningful way. I don't remember how much damage Middle Childs buddy did in his flashback, but his bros had all been killed. What was the difference between then and now? Where are all the high explosives that you dudes obviously need on standby?

Despite all that tho movie was pretty and I had fun, hoping the next one is better :)

today i went to a friend's birthday party, most of the people there were classmates i wasn't particularly close to but got along well enough. we were talking and i don't remember how the subject surged but suddenly a girl looked at me and said "oh, yknow, the other day *another one of the girls there* said 'thats too bad', and all we could think of was you and how you say that all the time. it's like your predetermined response to everything lol" and quickly moved on from that, but im still thinking about it.

im still thinking about how one of my friends cut out paper lemons and sprinkled them over my birthday gift because she simply associated them with me. im still thinking about how another one of my friends wrote a portrait about me for some simple homework. im still thinking about how my mom sends me reels about ceramic because she knows im obsessed with it.

i don't know what i want to say with this, but it's comforting to know that i survive in the back of their minds. that my existence has enough agency for them to deem me as memorable.

i can see afhiri being the type of person who fears absolutely nothing. i mean, i don't think they do fear anything, genuinely. this clown doesn't have that part of the brain that yells danger danger for them to experience fear in a base regard. they absolutely fear for their friends lives when they're hurt in combat, they fear gale's death, they fear very real and understandable things. but these things are also cured so quickly with a reassuring word because if loved one says there's no need to fear there's no need to fear! unusual though?

i can see them having stupid, illogical, weird one off fears, "what if you turn into a gnoll!" beat Forspoken, and while I probably will write an in-depth review down the line cuz i have many thoughts, I'm just going to pointform my basic thoughts while it's still fresh.

PROS

Great designs all around, the Tantas look so breathtaking with their extravagant designs and yet it doesn't take away from their world, it fits just right in. Absolutely love it.

Good world building most questions i had were answered either through the main story or extra archive stuff. Nothing felt too weird yknow

Gameplay gameplay gameplay. The magic system is literally amazing. I dont think I've had this much fun fighting in an rpg in a long time. Theres so much fun variety so you can focus on whats comfortable for you while also looking sick as fuck. Have i mentioned how good the battle system is cuz i avoid playing mage in every game because its such a slog but here its so fast paced and hits hard. Perfect for me.

The music is soooo good, I love the main theme and find myself humming it literally all the time.

Great graphics but maybe a lil too many particle effects but otherwise really pretty.

The story is technically a pro. Like its good, not bad, not great, just good. Basically something you'd find in the YA Fantasy section, thats the kinda quality it was. Which isn't a insult I did enjoy the story and characters. It just needed polish, fix up the dialogue and trim some of the story fat and i wouldn't have any complaints tbh. Probably would do better as a book series tho ngl, not sure what game format would have saved it.

Shoutout to the accessibility options. I'm glad more games are including these. I'll never understand complaints about them though, like just dont use them if you dont want/need to thats it.

ALMOST FORGOT THE COOLEST THING. THE NAILS. I'm sorry but the idea of using nail art to inscribe magic runes to give you buffs is the coolest fucking idea ever, why has this concept not been used till now. We always see rune tatoos or written on gear and stuff im fantasy media but this is such a neat ideaaaa and im forever thankful for it. Her capes are cool too I guess, with there was more variety rather than recolors tho. Kinda wish we could also get different outfits for her tho. Those jeans probably chafe.

THE OPEN WORLD IS SO BIG FOR NO GODDAMN REASON. I honestly wish this wasn't an open world game tbh, its so unnecessary. Halfway through the game, i got so frustrated and ignored everything that wasn't story points cuz getting everywhere takes so damn long, especially early on when you dont have fancy parkour or stamina. Easily its biggest fault for me.

I understand they thought it'd do way better than what happened but planning out a story as a trilogy in the gaming industry is not a smart move. I've yet to play the dlc so idk if we get closure but the loose ends werent a great way for the game to end.

Oh, the dialogue. Its easily one of the gamest weakest points. Like the type of dialogue i was writing in my original stories when i was 13 (not that ive gotten any better tbh). Basically, it's not what you expect from such a vaunted company. Frey is great when shes excited or angry, which is most of the time, but occasionally, they'll hit me with the cheesiest line I've heard in years, and idk how to handle it. Like the stuff she says in the final chapter is honestly so robotic, there is no natural flow present. Which is a pity cuz the actress was killing it tbh, like she definitely carried the lines with her emotion. Unfortunately, it couldn't save them. Like if it was something they dropped on ps3 or wii, it honestly would have done fine. What i mean to say is the dialogue is very outdated in this age of gaming. im actually surprised how out of touch it feels. Especially since otherwise its a solid game all around. Regarding Cuff and Frey banter you do have the option to make it less frequent or just turn it off but i never really found them annoying regardless.

Maybe its just me but the control scheme feels so weird, the games makes you feel like you should be gliding most of the time but holding O while spaming all those trigger buttons feels so awkward to me. But then again I also didnt care enough to change the control scheme so.

speaking of messages and how it reflects guys' morals, i wanna tell you something else really frustrating about my ex. so you know how i said that he was really bad at replying to messages, didn't care about my social media and stuff?

side note just to explain why him being on social media was so important to me: i have a food reviews account and it's a hobby of mine, it's v silly and i used to make little videos of me trying different foods. it was a whole thing and i always got a lot of comments from my friends about it. but my ex never cared! and i get it, not everyone has instagram. but i was really passionate about this food blog and put a lot of effort into the silly little videos i used to make. and id often be like "did you see my new video?" and he would sigh and roll his eyes. and then sometimes id show him my videos and he would be so annoyed. he literally had no respect! and yeah, it was all very silly and stupid, i never claimed that this food reviews blog was like deep and artistic or whatever. but it was important to me!!! he could've at least pretended that he cares, you know what i mean?

another side note: i grew up on social media so im very used to chatting to my friends all the time and posting instagram stories as i go along my day and stuff. and a part of social media culture is sending memes and funny/cute photos to people to show affection, right? like we always send things to each other like "haha this made me think of you". again, it's stupid, but it's a thing people do. and i would sometimes send him cute photos of kittens or bunnies or whatever like "hey, this is us <3" and again, he didn't care. and he never made an effort to maybe think like "huh, this is important to her, this is how she shows affection, maybe i should be a little more considerate instead of dismissing her stupid cat pictures". like it's the bare minimum!

anyway, whatever.

so back to what i wanted to say. when i left him, he suddenly started being active on social media and he would reply to my messages instantly. all of a sudden he started sending me cute photos of animals and even photos of foods to try like "hey, this would be neat for your food reviews blog". like he immediately did a 180!!! turns out showing basic human decency and basic respect towards my hobbies and communication style wasn't that hard after all, huh?

so naive little me was like "ohh maybe we could get back together". so i invite him to the cinema to test the waters, yknow. and after the movie we had a talk. and he was like "yeah, look at how much effort i put into trying to get you back these past couple of weeks". and that's when it hit me. showing interest in my hobbies is an "effort"? enjoying talking to me is an "effort"? and the way he showed that "effort" was by simply liking my instagram posts and replying to my messages in less than 24 hours. the tremendous "effort" he was talking about would take him 2 seconds of his time. and that was already more than enough and too much for him???

so yeah, the amount of effort a guy is willing to put into communicating with you really says a lot. replying to your text is too hard? double-tapping a meme you sent him is too hard? sitting through a minute long video of you is too hard? well fuck that! as you said, kindness is free. respect is free. caring for your significant other and making an effort is free! and if that's too hard? well fuck that!

I wanted to create a few "aesthetics" and random ideas to use as album covers for Reyzor C's music. I'm planning to probably either recreate these images as my own art (and I do mean literally, from-the-ground-up on FireAlpaca recreate) or splice them together with other things and do some heavy-ass personal tweaking to make it into. Well. What I want it to be.

I've actually gone so far in giving Rey's musical career life as to create three full lists of song titles for all of his albums, so all of these images are connected - either to the albums themselves or to the titles (and don't ask why some of them are what they are, man, just, lemme drown in my aesthetic juice okay?)

I actually tried to get some decent ai photos for Vending Machine, but unfortunately they never felt quite right - usually the ai put it in the middle of a walkway and it was just kinda awkward so, eh. This was the best I was able to do with it:

I thought that this one was really neat, and kinda trippy. It looks like it belong in a Melanie Martinez song (which like, not complaining here, but yknow). It'd probably fit best with Escapism.

I think Don't Kiss Me Goodbye, whether Rey wanted it to be or not, would be his swan song, that thing he's best known for. And this may not be the cleanest fit (actually it's one of the weakest) for an art cover with that song, but I think that catches the fact that this was an afterthought song Rey didn't think was gonna blow up.

Honestly not sure where this one would fit best, as it's more of an idea for the cover of Artificial that I just wanted to keep because I like the theme and the vibe it emits. Might go well with Trial, it feels kind of dangerous-y and on the edge.

Next up is the third and most recently constructed album titles, and that is "Gravesinger" - does it feel like Rey's songs have a line of evolution yet? Cuz I was going for that.

Corpse is probably one of those songs that's way lighter and more whimsical than the title lets on, so I want to pair it with this image of a knight and flowers to give that vibe of something quietly rotting away.

Then there's Memory Lane, which I wanted to put this cool ocean wave picture on, since it feels similar to that retro vibe from the previous two albums (I think I used the same bot base "style" iirc)

Being the last song in his last (presumable) album, Seafoam is likely a song of Rey's response to the resounding success that was Don't Kiss Me Goodbye and his own mixed emotions surrounding it. As such, their covers are similar.

Aaaaand that's all I managed to get in, but I might go back and make more of these to slap on the song titles. Hell, maybe I'll even make the lyrics for them one day. Or figure out how to make music on the computer, idk. That's probably kind of a stretch given I know jack shit of music. Oh well.

It looks like They're hiding pretty closely behind Len/using him as a shield so my brain is thinking Len might have done some psychological manipulation as well as the obvious physical stuff? i'm almost positive there was some psychological manipulation in some way yes, but for the most part len isn't pretending to pity it, he genuinely does feel some worry for it and monitors its' wellbeing (then again tho its in a slightly fcked up way w/ his idea of 'things being better this way')

its' anatomy is kinda very fucked up yes lmaoo, i was to trying to see how many wrong places i can have limbs in or how many limbs i can bend the wrong way with it still looking somewhat coherent, so the bones are definitely messed up ye... despite that drawing i don't think it actually can fully stand upright, it mostly moves around by crawling around (always envisioned the movement kinda like a spider/centipede but a bit... worse-looking?). i'm almost certain it is in some form of constant pain yes! even in spite of getting used to its' state after a while... it probably can contort itself and occasionally shift limbs and stuff to some degree ye, but also that's just my bullshit explanation for me drawing it super inconsistently b/c it's hard asf to draw okay 😭😭

the no-mouths is more of a symbolic thing but like the purposefully-hard-to-move thing, while it is convenient for len and it would be cool to think he planned that out, he's not that smart 😂😭 technically speaking he fucked up, it wasn't supposed to turn out like that but he basically went "yknow what, sure, this works" b/c what else do you do really in that situation

its' faces are meant to be expressionless sorta lol, i sorta try drawing the eyes with a vacant gaze; ik fukase's eye got fucked up in the final drawing so for funsies here's some closeups of the eyes w/o special effects bs:

you're not really supposed to be able to tell what it's feeling at any given moment, though there are sometimes clues as to how it might be feeling... nobody really knows for sure though

not sure exactly either to what extent it carries the memories & feelings of its' original components, if it has any remaining at all, but the attachment to len is definitely there (i mean duh... who else's basement is it trapped in 🙄)

Chapter 1: A Letter - Winter, Year 0

Elliot spent a good chunk of their childhood in Grandpa's farm over at Pelican Town but can't really remember anyone on there, if they do remember her. Every year at Fall, dad would go out into the old farm to keep watch over it "lest there be spirits camping in there, amirite?". But this year it's different:

Dad: Hey champ! Say, why don't you go check up on the farm this year?

Elliot: Mmmm and how exactly do I do that??

Dad: Oh yknow, just check the house if it's still intact. Pull some weeds; get rid of debris...Maybe a attend a meeting or two..

Elliot: Meeting??? In the countryside? Haha that's quite an imagery, dad.

Elliot's always busy nowadays especially with her promotion as a Project Officer in her corporate job. Schedules become more and more hectic. Overtime is more frequent and longer than it was. Hell, she even gets called in to work during the weekends. Ultimately, dad is very worried about her well-being but there's also another thing he worries about - the farm. Sure, they could survive without it; Elliot has more than enough money saved to even buy her own house at this point and Dad's been retired for quite some time now, with a pension, of course. But money isn't the reason why the old farm's being kept around.

Elliot focuses back on her report due next week and dad has no choice but to back down with the topic for a bit or else his daughter might get annoyed and dismiss the topic entirely. The doorbell rings and dad goes out to get the door. He opens it but sees noone, except for a neat-looking dark blue envelope on the doormat. One look and dad already knows what it's about. Dad goes back to the dining table where Elliot has her laptop set up.

Dad: Hey Ells... it's for you.

Elliot's gaze turns to dad then to the pretty-looking envelope in his hand.

Elliot: Ooooh that's such a fancy envelope! Who's it from??

Dad gives her the envelope and Elliot holds it and examines it closely. It's a very pretty thing - matte paper that's very satisfying to touch. Theres nothing written on it except on the middle of one side, in very neat handwriting, it said: To Elliot

Elliot carefully opens the envelope, trying not to rip any of it. Inside was a small card that read:

You are cordially invited to The Grex Statera, to be held this coming Autumn, on the night of Spirit's Eve.

Your return to the roost will be highly anticipated. Do not fail to attend.

An undescribable fear washed over Elliot.

Elliot: Hey, uh. This is...a really weird letter, dad.

Elliot looks at dad with a puzzled look but dad is just looking back at her, dejectedly.

Elliot: Hello?? What is this about??

Dad: I'm sorry I kept it from you for so long. I knew I should've talked to you about it when you were 16, just like your grandpa did to me. Ahhh, but your mother-

Elliot: What? What's that have to do with this?? Just tell me now, then.

Dad was silent for a bit, trying to find the words.

Dad: We have magic in our bloodline, sweetie.

Elliot just sat there with an exasperated look.

Elliot: What?

Dad: Yes, you heard that right. We have magic in our bloodline. Just like some families out there. Do you remember your friend, Rose?

Elliot: Oh. Woozy Rosie?

Dad: *chuckle* Yep, Woozy Rosie. They had to move to a forest-dense area since they're a family of half-vampires and they needed the shade.

Dad casually drops this information as if it's a part of normal life, not even showing an ounce of his mischievous side. That's when Elliot knew that he wasn't kidding about this.

Elliot: *leans back into the chair, her shoulders slumping* Man, what the hell.......So what are we then?

Dad: Oh, don't worry dear, we're not another species. We're just very well-attuned to nature.

Elliot, confused: What? That's it?

Dad: Yeah. Now you know why we keep getting bothered by animals. It's because I can talk to them.

This revelation shocked Elliot to her core. As if something clicked in her brain. All of those cats and birds in the parks that they visited, the deer, the random lizards and insects that show up from nowhere. The dog, now affectionately looking at dad.

Elliot: Wait so you mean...I can talk to them too????

Dad: Well, not right now as you are since you have forgotten to attune yourself with nature.

Elliot: Excuse me?? What does THAT mean??

Dad: Dear, you've been working yourself to the bone in a concrete jungle. You can't even keep a plant alive. How do you expect that to nurture your magical gift?

Alright, that kinda stung. Elliot was only working for his and his father's sakes. She wants him to retire into comfort, not to spend his retirement days thinking about her well-being, still. She didn't bring this up since it's quite hard to tell parents that you care about them. Maybe this is not a universal experience.

Elliot, still holding the letter: So.....what do we do now?

Dad: I'm going to teach you some farming basics and you're going to move to Pelican Town to watch over the farm.

Elliot: Wait, what? The thingy here won't be until Fall, next year! Why do I have to move to Pelican Town????

Dad: Because you need to revive the farm, honey.

Elliot: But you only stay there for like, a week max in Fall?? How come I need to move there??

Dad, starting to get frustrated: I'm sorry dear, but you're the next heir to the farm, not me. It skips a generation. I'm only a caretaker, in preparation for you.

About 50 thoughts swirled in Elliot's head: What about my job? What about dad? Who takes care of him? How am I going to survive out there? Can I really do this? Am I really just going to drop everything I have right now for something this stupid? Elliot's paranoia was interrupted by dad:

Dad: I know what you're thinking, honey. I'll be fine on my own. And you'll be fine on your own over there. The citizens and your uncle-gramps will take care of you.

Elliot: My what now?

Dad: *chuckle* Grandpa's friends. They will show you the ropes. Y'know, when I first took over the caretaking business for the farm, I didn't know anything either. It was them who helped me out. It's a really nice community out there - they really feel like one big family. Who knows, maybe you'll even find a significant other there?

Elliot, annoyed: Alright, dad.

Dad: *chuckle* Just kidding, dear. Right, since it's quite dead outside how about I teach you about plant care basics in the garage?

Elliot and dad spent a lot of time together that Winter going through everything that could prepare Elliot for what's to come - for the farming aspect, of course. Try as he might, Dad's not really the best person to go to with regards to the magic stuff. The valley has a wizard for that, of course! Maybe even a few.

like actually tbh? i remember one time i was scrolling through my dash and i saw a like . yangyang fic and i mean like. the banner was pretty, the sections before the "read more" were cohesive and neat and clean, and the summary looked interesting !! so i read it, even though i typically don't read for yangyang ever !! and that ended up being . one of the most enjoyable fics i'd read in a very long time. ((if you're curious, i'm 99% sure i reblogged it to here under the fic recs tag; it is an entirely SFW fic written by someone underage (yes, i checked with her to see if she was okay w me rbing it here once i found out she was a minor) so behave appropriately !!!)) so yeah... tldr: put your heart into your work and the right people will come !!)

*(this post is not mine, but it's a great start for being aware of how your word choice can be more inclusive and less alienating for people of color!! there are many things to be aware of when writing inclusive reader-insert stories besides just race, though, such as body type factors like height, weight, build, etc., hair types, gender identity (i actually saw someone talk about this in the tags a while ago and it made me more cognizant of things like this but, like, if you're writing for a afab reader with she/her pronouns, then specify that before the fic starts!! (for example: instead of writing "jeno x reader" for the pairing, you can say "jeno x fem!reader") otherwise amab readers or people whose pronouns aren't she/her will waste their time at best and, unfortunately, might experience gender dysphoria at worst, y'know? and because we are considerate people, we do not want that.)

also, i feel the need to say that like. no, i do not read people's fics and give them feedback if i don't know them well because i know that i would have a hard time actually being honest; i do have friends on here whose work i've looked at before they posted it bc like . we are already friends and they know me enough to know that i would never intentionally hurt them, y'know?

however!! if you have a specific kind of writing question and you think i can help (and you have already checked google) then i would be up for helping!! but like...i cannot stress this enough... if you come to me with questions that i google and find the answer to within 10 minutes, i'm not gonna be helpful bc... you could have done that yourself y'know? do not ask me, like, "can you explain punctuation rules to me?" or "what's a noun?" Laize { A New Character }

Hey guys! So um, get ready because This is gonna be a long post due to how many images I'm going to insert and how much about this piece I have to say :). So recently I've been dabbling a lot in my art style and experimenting (as I've mentioned a lot in my previous posts). Currently I'm trying to develop my style to a more solid one. Like my posts before, the style I refer to is that really BJD inspired art style. However I like the idea of being able to do more than one style. And I noticed in a few artists I really like (specifically in their Commissions stuff) they sometimes have two or three style you can choose to get from them (not including chibi). And I thought hey that's a pretty neat idea! But I barely have one style in place so how could I possibly start trying to do another? So I figured I'd focus on two, the BJD inspired one, and one that's more..what I'd call pointy and geometric? Basically the second style I'm going for is inspired by Jhonen Vasquez (the creater of Invader Zim and Johnny The Homicidal Maniac for those who don't know, just search up either of those and you'll immediately see and maybe recognize his style), and kind of Tim Burton cause why not? I picked those two styles specifically for me to focus on, because I noticed that whenever I doodle I tended to always draw something that leans towards a BJD anime-ish style or a pointy geometric sketchy style. I feel for me personally this is the best way to develop my skills a little more ^=^ and with this piece I also feel like It worked out extremely well!

A bit about Laize

So Laize is a character I decided to make recently for some very specific reasons. Normally, I don't do a lot of vent art. The reason being because when I do, I never feel like the characters I use for it and what not fully express whatever I'm feeling. I tend to vent more through writing things as a result but I always feel this yearning to vent through drawings and doodles too. Even when I use myself as the drawings subject it just never feels fully right. So I decided why not instead, make a character the can represent some of the things I struggle most with. I'm an extremely anxious person, my anxiety can be off the scale in the blink of an eye and it doesn't take much at all for something to cause me to start shaking. So my anxiety is one of the biggest struggles I have in my daily life, and also one of the hardest things for me to express fully. This character is meant to help with that. I guess you could say they are a venting OC? But I personally wouldn't call them that, see I feel like they are much more. I do plan to use them for things other than vent art anyways. But it's a character meant to be more personally and more self identifying to me (but still not a self insert either btw. They aren't supposed to actually be me). Also, I'm sure you've noticed my use of they/them pronouns, that is due to my decision of making them nonbinary (like myself). I felt it was appropriate for a character this important and this personal yknow? Anyways that's all the info I can give about them for now~
