Peach’s commission was beautiful beautiful beautiful!! I love it, and the idea of a festival date with the twins!!

But as I’ve mentioned it takes time to get there.

Renee is a personality. Her love languages are physical touch and words of affirmation. But what she thinks is affirmation isn’t the typical thing.

She’s mean when she likes people.

She teases and makes fun in playful ways, picking on people she cares about so they’ll laugh. It’s never anything terrible, just small embarrassments or silly phrases the other person said that she pokes fun at to get them to smile.

As a photographer, she understands what’s beautiful. And laughter is beautiful. Caught in a laugh, a person is free, completely themselves. So Renee strives to get people to laugh, but growing up you laugh when people tease you and when you tease them back

This isn’t something the twins are entirely knowledgeable about. Ingo understands tones, and can hear the afflictions of Renee’s tone as she shoots wise cracks at his blunt brother. He laughs at her antics, and chuckles whenever she turns her wits to him. He’s managed to poke fun back, similar to how he’s done with his brother, and she’s elated.

Emmet isn’t as pleased. He doesn’t like being babied, doesn’t like how people infantilize him due to being both younger than Ingo, and appearing more “childish” than him. Renee’s teasing makes him feel like a child, condescended and belittled. He fires back at her on all cylinders, but she just thinks he’s playing along. Their “playful” bickering is endless at times, and Ingo can only roll his eyes once they get started.

Emmet likes winning more than anything, and he refuses to lose to a smart ass photographer, so the beginnings of their relationship are a rivalry of who can out-insult the other. They’ll argue about anything, from Joltiks to regions to the existence of a god. Emmet always whines to Ingo when he loses, while Renee pouts and lays affections on Ingo when she loses

The twin can only sigh as he manages his two little fools.

“Your Galvantula photos are bad!”

“Bold words from a man who can barely take a photo of his own dumb body.”

“GASP!”

“That’s right, I’ve seen your thirst tweets, you whore. And they’re amateurish.”

“YOU TAKE THAT BACK!”

Sadly, Ren’s team are all companion Pokémons (besides Birdie who is a BEAST) so she never indulges Emmet in the battles he demands of her when he starts losing arguments
