hot take (aka headcanon) but I kinda think that nishiki and kiryu’s relationship pre-split wasn’t on both sides platonic/familial or fully romantic; I feel like nishiki had a thing for him (not sure if he fully realized it though) and that he had developed feelings for kiryu over the course of a good long time that were deeply confusing on their own, but even more so considering they would’ve been hard to sort out with what could just be attributed to close friendship or a familial-type bond.
and on the other side of this, kiryu was utterly oblivious and never thought to question what they had as being anything other than a close friendship or familial-type relationship or whatever it was being called out loud (we know kiryu, he’s blunt as hell and takes things at face value– not the best at reading between the lines) hence why the split between them, though both were clearly hurt a ton by it, hit nishiki harder and more acutely– because on top of losing the most important person in his life, which is bad enough, it would’ve crushed any tiny shred of hope he may have had to live out his long-time, perhaps even since-childhood fantasy of being by kiryu’s side forever as his one true confidant, in a more intimate way than as a friend.
#rambling#sad boy hours#this also ties into why I hc nishiki as being gay rather than bi for the most part (though both are absolutely valid and understandable)#won’t get into that here too much but yeah there’s just… a lot of tragic gay angst that can be associated with him and the way he handles m#(or doesn’t handle) their little… breakup and whatnot#and as for kiryu’s side of things. honestly if things went a different way than they did I don’t think something beyond friendship would be#out of the question. it’s just. I don’t think kiryu would’ve ever considered the concept because he’s so clueless#when it comes to relationships and romance and so on and furthermore because of the way he was brought up- which of course wouldn’t really#highlight the idea that falling for a guy (or vice versa) is even a possibility let alone that it’d be applicable to him and someone so#close to him and whatnot. learning about nishiki’s past feelings for him in a hypothetical post-kiwami situation I think would make#him short circuit. and to literally anyone else who knew about nishiki’s actions after the split and all it’d all click and make perfect#sense hearing that. but to kiryu it’d take some fuckin Time to process#I think the past would be in the past by whatever hypothetical future point this is but still its a lot to apply to some of the most#important and fundamental parts of/events of his life. hh. yeah. tack on some guilt if you wanna say kiryu would be with majima at that#point (however you define ‘with’– important part is It’s Not Straight) so the potential there- whatever it was- wasn’t totally nothing like#it would be if he was simply straight and thus it would’ve never been a possible relationship outcome#but. yeah. anyway. sorry I’m. I need to stop I’m going insane I think l#I hope I don’t sound too insane or controversial for this take gahdhshdh have mercy on me#it’s. it’s all just ideas. thoughts. in a game. in minecraft. etc#nishiki#kiryu#yakuza#long post

hi can i request wxs with a reader who bakes a lot, and often surprises them with fresh pastries? if you dont wanna write all of them just rui or emu is fine! 😊
It Only Takes a Taste
Wonderland X Showtime | M. Reader
Tumblr media
----------
"You remind me of a girl I once knew.."
----------
Tsukasa Tenma
Will praise your baking skills like there's no tomorrow.
You once make star-shaped sugar cookies for him and he cherishes that thing like it's a real star.
100% brags about having someone who has amazing baking skils
If he sees you baking in the kitchen, he'll help you and you don't have the right to say no. I mean just look at him! Don't you see how he shines brighter than the freaking sun at the thought of baking with you?
The face he makes every time he takes the first bite is always priceless. His eyes practically sparkle.
Also suggested that you should open a bakery, claiming that, "with your skills you'll definitely become a famous baker in no time!"
Rui Kamishiro
Will tease you for giving him a surprise pastry.
Definitely eats them as a snack as he builds his inventions and draws his blueprints.
Either that or midnight snack. Let's be honest, he probably only gets 3 hours of sleep at best with how many inventions he makes. Not to mention those ideas of his.
If he ever catches you baking, it can and will turn into a flour fight. Honestly it'll probably be a war that ends with the kitchen being all messy.
Jokingly say "My compliments to the baker." although he truly meant it.
Nene Kusanagi
Will act all shy because she never has anyone give her anything and a surprise at that?
Definitely eats them as a snack while she plays her video games.
If she sees you baking in the kitchen, she'll try her best to help you. Cooking Mama style. Do the Mama accent and you either get a laugh or a jab in the gut.
She either groans or giggles as you make a Minecraft reference while making a cake/cookies.
She probably suggested you make foods from different games/shows. For example, cookie cat from Steven Universe, butterscotch cinnamon pie from Undertale, the cake from Portal, etc etc.
One day you surprised her by making bacon pancakes from Adventure Time for breakfast and her face lit up.
Emu Otori
Congratulations, you've officially become her favorite person.
Will ask you directly if you have any pastries with you. Who can blame her? It's delicious! And if she could she'll eat it all day everyday!
If she sees you baking in the kitchen, she'll be super excited at the thought of helping you. Imagine a child who wanted to help their parents cook/bake with stars in their eyes, yeah, that's her.
Will also suggest you to open a bakery.
Gives you a small kiosk in Phoenix Wonderfully because she thinks that everyone should try your pastries and it would definitely, absolutely, 100%, guarantee, make everyone smile with just a single bite with how delicious it is.
----------
Another day, another show, another successful day for the troupe.
"You guys did wonderful today, a total of 246 tickets were sold." [Name] stated, looking through the clipboard in his hand.
He's been friends with Tsukasa since childhood who have found joy in the world of theater although not being talented in either singing or dancing, [Name] has become their manager. He's quite grateful for such an opportunity. After all, what's a troupe without a manager?
His carrying nature made him the perfect manager for the troupe and they can't ask for a better manager.
"246 tickets!? That's a lot!" Emu cheered, it's only been a few months since they all started their path towards their dreams and to think they've already made such a progress. "Of course! It's only expected that people wanted to see our show! To see a star!" Tsukasa claims as he smiles proudly at their achievement.
Nene merely smiles as she watches the group being happy at their rising to stardom. "So manager, what's on our schedule for today?" Rui asked curiously.
"Why don't we have a break? It's been a long day."
.
.
.
As the group have a small break, [Name] left to grab something before long he returns with....
"Cookies! You're the best [Name]!" Emu cheered, her eyes sparkles the moment her eyes locked on the small container in their manger's hands. "When did you have the time to do this?" Nene asked.
[Name] puts the container on the table, smiling softly as he watch the group enjoy the cookies he made. He had always enjoy baking and surprising them with fresh pastries had easily became a hobby of his. "I managed." He replied, taking a seat next to Nene.
"Hmm~ You should open a bakery! These are delicious!" Tsukasa compliments as he took another bite of the cookie. "Fufu~ as expected of our manager~" Rui chuckles, eating the pastry with a cheshire grin.
"Honestly, you don't have to.." Nene says, nibbling on the cookie. "But I wanted to~ plus seeing your guys faces every time I gave pastries are always a joy to see~"
Their manager's baking skills had never failed to surprise them. They look absolutely adorable and they're really delicious! The first time he does this, they thought it would just be a one time thing but as time passes. [Name] continues to give them copious amounts of pastries.
They're forever grateful for their manager, not only for the pastries, but for his whole support.
It won't be long until their little theater troupe would make it big and they have their manager to thank them. Who knows? Maybe [Name] might actually start a bakery with Wonderland X Showtime promoting it? Killing two birds with one stone, no?

Admins refs!
Finally done… only took me all week… feel free to ask questions about them! (please)
Funfacts:
- Xara is based off: the End, dragons, lizards, reptiles etc., bats. The people of the Oasis are fancy but still need to wear outfits suitable for living in a Mesa so it comes around to something like Xara wears.
- Fred is based off: the Overworld, birds, deer, bears, angels. People in Fred’s Keep are all farmers/builders/creatives and from what you see in-game of what they wear, it’s similar to what Fred likes to wear. He likes to be comfy ^_^
- Romeo is based off: the Nether, cats, goats, demons/imps. Romeoburg citizens which are of COURSE called Burgers, they all wear thicker clothing for the colder environment tucked away at the mountains & fjords. There’s a lot of leather and furs, and long hair.
Tumblr media
Armour refs
I don’t really like these but the idea is there. I needed their armours to suit their fighting styles and their general aesthetics including the ones of their towns.
Tumblr media
Quick weapon refs
- Ending Eye is a longbow and its arrows are the sharpest hit you’ll ever get from a bow, owie
- Hoemeo is Fred’s diamond hoe, named this as a joke and it stuck, Fred couldn’t think of another name. He thought it wasn’t going to ever need to be used as a weapon so it didn’t matter. All I can say is that Romeo is lucky he wasn’t the one who died because that would have been an embarrassing death message.
- Ruby is like minecraft zenith and is very good at killing Freds
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pets
- Bonbon is a smaller-than-average creeper that is diffused and acts like a therapy cat to Romeo. He didn’t get a normal cat because he’s Romeo.
- Jean is THE Ender Dragon and was raised from a baby dragon into fully-grown Jean. She is often badly behaved and will only listen to Xara, if anyone.
- Waffles is Waffles… ya. Silly immortal chicken who also has an immortal need to peck Romeo to death
- Nugget, the old Clydesdale horse who is just happy to be there, happy lad ^_^
OK thats all I think. PLZ ask me questions. I will be joyous OK BYE

FANTOCCIO FACTS POST (from screenshots i found in my own interests server)
- His name is italian for puppet, but he pronounces it incorrectly and insists it’s the correct way to say his name if anyone else points it out and says he’s wrong.
- He’s not from Italy, obviously. Goes to show. But Ash imagines he knows a bit of italian. (“Not enough Italian to say his name right.” - Katie.)
- Fantoccio has a pet shark named Sharkspeare! Mentioned in the song at the line “‘Cause Sharkspeare’s looking mean!”
- Fantoccio has to make all his own props, set pieces, clothes, etc in the theatre.
- Would never smoke, and would hate being around it/people who’re doing it actively.
- Fantoccio was made by Ash as a fan OC for the game, and this (as far as I’m aware) is what got them hired onto the game, cause Katie loved their ideas so much.
- Fantoccio is not very good with kids.
- Fantoccio’s favorite food is churros. This came from the fact Ash once had a dream about him infodumping about them cause he loved them so much, so they made it canon.
- Don’t worry, he can indeed taste things normally. No traditional taste buds, but some, nonetheless. Same goes for touch!
- Fantoccio is canonically autistic, having many traits of himself heavily projected from Ash, themself.
- When asked what his meltdown triggers could be, Ash thought that some might be: too much touching, being without his hat, or one of his props breaking.
- Fantoccio likes wearing dresses! Wears them if he feels like it or if the role calls for it, during a play.
- Ash thinks he’d ADORE snow.
- Fantoccio would 100% love spicy italian from subway.
- Fantoccio plays violin!
- Fantoccio would chant “I’m sleeping” when struggling to fall asleep, like his own version of counting sheep.
- He would NEVER say the Earth is flat.
- He’d be the “How do you do that” of that one keysmash meme, if paired with Barnaby.
- Ash once said that Fantoccio is like Duck from Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.
- When doing a personality type test (and actually answering truthfully instead of in character) for Fantoccio, he ended up with ENTJ-T, Commander. Fanto would answer untruthfully on some questions, like if he ever gets insecure (“PFFFT NO THE ANSWERS NO”).
- He can go uwu in the bbu lore, but he’ll hate it. (“THIS IS STUPID!!!”)
- Fantoccio would apparently be a “mac and cheese FIEND.”
- He’d hate pranks (specifically a hand zapper in this case), because they’re unexpected. (“NEVER DO THAT AGAIN”)
- This also means he’d never troll anyone, cause he feels above that.
- Fanto would HATE hearing people crack their knuckles, like Ash does.
- Fantoccio loves to carve wood. Specifically only by hand, that’s how much he loves it! He carved the two giant wooden hands used in his battle, but his favorite thing to carve is ducks.
- Fantoccio is very intent on ONLY eating the few foods he knows he likes.
- If he were an ice cream, he’d be coffee flavor! Which is ironic, because Ash has also said that it’d probably be terrible to give Fantoccio caffeine.
- Fantoccio would LOVE chicken nuggets.
- Hates pizza, though. Too greasy and messy.
- Would enjoy having an ipad “a little too much. He would be super confused at first but once he learns how to use it DO NOT TAKE IT AWAY”. (kinda like Peridot from Steven Universe)
- He would like spruce wood in Minecraft, but also acacia “just to look at.”
- Ash adores pirates, so so does Fantoccio!
- He has no nose, so no sneezes!
- Appreciates detail as much as Barnaby does.
- Fanto would love birds!
- Fanto is not capable of curse words. Sad.
- Fantoccio would COLLAPSE trying to lift someone without his powers.
- He stims by patting his face and spinning around. Fidgets with his hands in concepts for his standing idle animations, because he’s uncomfortable with standing and prefers floating.
- He’d favor Murder Mystery!
- His wood is alive and can grow like a real boy! (if you’ve seen my post being reblogged around, lol)
- He lives in the lost city of magic, which is abandoned and overrun my magical zombies who used to be magic users, now with a terrible curse. So he lives mainly in his theatre. He’s not trapped, anymore, like his old story!
- Fantoccio’s powers are based around telekinesis and teleportation. It’s how he moves his body around!
- He used to have a plush toy rabbit he carried around, when he was younger, seemingly. It’s unclear where that went, when he got older.
- Fantoccio’s been locked up in this city for 15 years, since he was 8. Completely isolated (save for those zombies, I suppose)! When Billie comes along, though, he’s so excited to have something new to play with!
- Fanto’s song is inspired by Weird Al. Like 90% of this game is, of course /lh. He was also inspired by the pied piper!
- He’d dislike the idea of seafood. (“He’d be like “Why would anyone want to eat a fish?!” And cover Sharkspeare’s nonexistent ears like “Don’t listen to them!””)
- The red feather in his hat is also used as a pen!
- Fantoccio is a being of pure magic, having an entire magic gem be his whole life source. This means he can use magic endlessly without getting tired (I believe)!
- Fantoccio is 23, he/him, and pansexual.
- His face is made using magic. It disappears when/if he’s magic-less.
- Fantoccio can absolutely feel pain.
- When it comes to nature, Ash said he’d kinda be like Rarity from MLP:FiM, but certain kinds of nature he’d still really love. He’d really dislike walking through the wild or camping in general, but loves things like snow or flower fields. Just depends!
- Fantoccio would main Bowser in Mario Kart.
-In terms of favorite Halloween treats, Fantoccio would like anything chewy and fruity (no chocolate)!
- Canonically wears eyeliner.
- Magic sparks from his fingertips when he’s very excited!
- If Fantoccio was an animal, Ash says he’d be a cat.
- No traditional gross human stuff inside him like others, just wood and sap. “Whatever trees do.”
- His original concept by Ash was him having a purple phantom head, being a ghost in a puppet’s body. This was changed by Katie, I believe.
(feel free to add on if I missed anything! i’ll edit this post if i randomly remember something)

ive been enabled so let me share some of my thoughts on how to get ur art noticed online
if u want Engagement on ur posts then i believe that its critical to make people care about ur art. the easiest way to do this is to appeal to something they already care about, like fandom, aesthetics/subculture, current events, having fun (people love humor!). a harder but perhaps more fulfilling route is to talk about ur own ocs and projects enough until people start caring about them too
theres an infinite amount of topics people care about out there so id suggest picking something u already care about urself and channel ur art energy there. trying to make art for the most popular things out there regardless own interests is an exercise in misery, id advise against it..! if im allowed to get superstitious for a moment, i do believe that even untrained eyes can tell whether a piece of art was fun to work on or a chore. and besides! if ur having fun then its easier to create more, and the more u create the more chances ull have at getting lucky and having a post seen :)
on a very related note, art is a way to communicate ideas so the quality of the idea being presented in a piece of art is paramount to how popular a post will be. what i mean by this is that technical skill isnt the primary determinant of a posts popularity. if all your posts are portraits of original characters then people will have a hard time connecting with your posts and theyll keep scrolling, even if those portraits are masterpieces! the major exception to this is probably other artists, who ive found usually have a greater appreciation for the technical side of art (we can only speculate as to why..!)
lemme finish by saying that making popular posts and being good at art are two entirely different skillsets, ive seen many incredibly skilled artists with jack shit for notes because they dont give people a reason to care about their stuff NOT TO MENTION its a huge game of luck whether a post will get seen. so dont go insane in pursuit of recognition!
(i dont want to make this post too long so ive included examples from my own art and their note counts with my analysis after the break)
hello and welcome to the extracurricular segment to this post :) i bring yall two pieces from my art blog @werewolf-artfriend:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
here we have a portrait of my fursona that im still proud of and a sketch suggesting "what if sniffers (from minecraft) were the size of mountains?" (let it be noted that the sniffer sketch was posted right during the minecraft mob vote = peak interest in the subject of sniffers).
the portrait at the time of writing has a crisp 30 notes, whilst the sniffer sketch has over 2000 notes. from the same artist, on the same blog, posted only a few months apart. i believe this is a good example both of the power of a piece of art having an interesting idea at its core AND of a piece appealing to the interests of the masses
this is of course just two convenient example posts, but i have experienced fan art of popular topics getting thousands of notes a couple of times now, amidst my other furry shit that these days get around 200-300 notes in comparison
this may sound like a really long winded way of saying "fan art make the world go round" but i just want to point out the nuances that
1) it matters what u make fan art of: if a fandom is small or dormant (waiting on new canon content for example) then clearly less people will be excited about the fan art you make. dont expect 10k notes on ur post if the average recent post in the fandom gets around 200 etc etc
2) it doesnt have to be fan art! ive also had some of my bird art get thousands of notes because people simply like birds :) and this applies to ANY topic people care about! the world rly is your oyster on this one
anyway i think ive started rambling dhgdjhgd thanks if u read this far! i hope i got my point across! and if ur feeling down about ur art not being seen then just keep at it okay! keep creating and keep having fun! keep sharing ur ideas and perspectives with the world and ur audience will eventually find u! i love you!

Name your headcsnons about our boi Kieran (Apologies if you have done this already)
I HAVE SO MANY. this is probably a fraction of my headcanons honestly but I don't remember them all lmao. HERE WE GO!
Tumblr media
Kieran
• he has anxiety, the tism™️ and BPD (twinning 🤝)
• stims include tapping his foot, rocking his hand to the side of him, bouncing his leg (or foot) when sat down. He also has vocal stims, which usually come from tunes or phrases he hears; wowzers is one of them!
• playing with his hair is a big stim. He ruffles it, pulls at it, twirls it, strokes it, runs his hands through it, etc. He likes how his hair feels and that's why so many of his stims involve it :]
• he often mutters to himself, whispering his inner thought processes
• his parents left years ago. He has no idea where they went, only knows that they didn't care about their kids. When he was young he was told they'd died, to 'protect' him. You'd think Carmine and the grandparents would've learned from that incident during teal mask, huh? (This is also the case for villain!Kieran, but normal Kieran would likely avoid ever meeting his parents)
• he is terrible at video games. Still, he likes playing them on occasion; definitely more of a 'cosy game' enjoyer with a biiiiit of threat. He'd play Minecraft, Stardew Valley and Terraria for example
• he's short right now– shortest of the friend group– but he'll eventually be pretty tall when he's 17. Shorter than Nemona and Arven at that age, but still tall enough that it shocks people at first
• chocolate wafer bars are his comfort food!
• his grandma taught him how to cook, while his grandpa taught him how to make tea and to knit.
• despite the above, he's not very good at cooking... he burns things. A lot.
• during his emoism™️ he would kick things, punch things, slam things etc and every time, he'd act cool about it until he was out of the room. Then he lets out a little owie or a hiss of pain </3
• started cursing more the moment his hair was tied up. He was convinced it made him sound more mature. Even after everything's said and done and he's doing better mentally + friends with Florian and co again, he can't quite shake the habit and curses every so often in conversation
• resting bitch face + talks in a 'moody' quiet voice a lot, leading people to think he's annoyed when he's actually feeling neutral or even happy
• if cat person vs dog person exists in the Pokémon universe, Kieran’s a cat person. I guess this means he likes Pokémon that are more like cats, whether they actually are cats or not
• he likes flowers a lot. That's it that's the headcanon. I think he'd like sketching them and studying them, maybe his original pokémon team and the open fields of Kitakami made him interested? And, funnily enough, his crush's name means blossoming, flourishing flower....
• he still stays up late and sometimes doesn't sleep at all, but this is much rarer now. Normally it's because he has a good(-ish) reason not to sleep– at least, that's what he says.
• applin was his first Pokémon!
• when he traded Florian an applin, Florian traded back a shiny applin. He actually started this search right after he left Kitakami, and found it a week before heading to Blueberry; he was prepared and wanted a good way to apologise. Of course, he didn't expect what'd happened with Kieran.
• Florian has a shiny furret. It was on his team when he fought Kieran and won; after Kieran boxed his own for being too weak. Ouch.... (based on the fact I had furret as one of my last pokemon when his ace went down </3) this is technically a Florian hc but!! It made Kieran rethink a little, later on. It was also extremely devastating at the time
• Kieran naturally gets really good at battling. He could 100% be part of the elite four or even the champion when he's older, even with him slowing down and doing battles just for fun
• Kieran doesn't always enjoy physical touch, but he's also pretty touch starved. He likes hugs and anything gentle, and usually only from people he knows well
Feel free to ask for more headcanons about him or candyapple etc in future, I love doing these posts!

Mina FLUFF Alphabet
Wc: 1.35k
Warnings: Mentions of a dominant side (???) (that shameless self promo tho)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A-Activities (what do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?)
Mina likes gaming with her girlfriend, especially co-op games like Minecraft and Stardew Valley. She enjoys the more open world type of games, as well as role playing games and visual novels. She loves to spend time playing these games with you, making fun of the cheesy dialogues, the characters you both hate… It’s all just a fun experience for both of you.
B-Beauty (what do they admire about their s/o? what do they think is beautiful about them?)
Your hands. How fast they move while you’re playing is amazing, and of course she loves to hold them and feel their warmth and softness.
C-Comfort (how would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?)
She’s not good at comforting people, since she has never been good at comforting herself, as she usually suffers from anxiety, but she has learned that the best way to comfort you is to be by your side and remind you how much she loves you.
D-Dreams (how do they picture the future with their s/o?)
Married and without children. I don’t see her wanting kids. She would like to live her youth with you and then settle down once she’s made a career and a successful woman out of herself.
E-Equal (are they the dominant one in the relationship or rather passive?)
She’s the dominant one for sure. She just loves feeling like for once she has control over something.
If you want to see more of Mina’s “dominant side” ;), check out her NSFW Alphabet in my profile. (LOL SHAMELESS SELF PROMO)
F-Fun (what do they do for fun with their s/o? what’s their idea of a fun day out?)
I already mentioned gaming but I think Mina is into the more classical and refined things in life, like going to the ballet, a fancy restaurant… She just wants to treat you right and show you she can be a cultured woman.
G-Gratitude (how grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?)
She’s so grateful you’re in her life… It’s so unreal to her, sometimes, when she wakes up in the morning and has you by her side, she feels her heart swelling with content, and she hugs you close to her chest.
H-Honesty (do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?)
She shares most things with you, not everything, since she’s afraid you’ll judge her, but she tries to be as honest as possible.
I-Inspiration (did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?)
If you’re extroverted, you changed her in the sense that you showed her that her shyness is something she doesn’t have to overcome but bear with it.
If you’re introverted you showed her that she doesn’t have to be in control all the time, and that she can take time for herself.
J-Jealousy (do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?)
Mina doesn’t get jealous like people normally get jealous, she goes through different stages of emotions beforehand: first, she gets depressed at the thought of someone making you happier; second, she gets angry at herself, and begins critiquing every single fiber of her being; third, jealousy sets in, and her dominant side gets the best of her and she has to remind you you’re hers.
K-Kisses (are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?).
Mina’s kisses are soft and filled with love.
Your first kiss was awkward, filled with anxious thoughts of “what if she doesn’t like me like that?” “What if I ruin our friendship?” “What if she thinks I’m disgusting?” and since you weren’t taking the lead, Mina decided not to wait anymore and went in for the kiss.
L-Love confession (how would they confess to their s/o?)
I feel like Mina would confess in a pretty conventional way, by giving you flowers with a note on them, by writing you a letter or a song.
M-Mornings (what’s it like waking up with them? do they sleep late or wake up before the sun rises?)
Like I said before, Mina feels so fortunate that she gets to wake up with you by her side in the mornings, but how about how you feel? Well, Mina sleeps pretty late, she stays up on her computer or on her phone, but when she goes to sleep with you she huddles closer and you can feel her warmth hitting you.
N-Nicknames (what do they call their s/o?)
The classic: babe.
P-PDA (how are they with PDA? is it fun to them or are they more reserved with their affection?)
Mina isn’t into PDA, since she’s shy and anxious. Please be patient with her !!! she loves you but she just doesn’t like to demonstrate her love in public.
Q-Quirk (some random thing they do when they’re with you for no reason in particular)
She likes to smell you. It’s weird, I know, but please don’t make her feel bad about it. She just loves your scent.
R-Romance (how romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?)
Mina is a romantic at heart. She enjoys treating you right, and by right I mean taking you out to a fancy restaurant, to the ballet, to the opera if that’s what you’d like, to the theater, you get me, she’s rather cliché in that aspect.
S-Support (are they helping their s/o achieve their goals do they believe in them?)
Yes! Mina is very supportive of your goals. She wants to see you succeed and be happy, so she’ll be there along the way to be with you.
T-Thrill (do they need to try out new things to spice up your relationship or do they prefer a certain routine?)
She prefers the routine. Lazy days where you order take-out and watch TV, nights where you stay up late (or never go to sleep) playing games, and video calls despite being in the same house just in a different room… just doing stuff you guys love is enough.
U-Understanding (how good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?)
Mina wants to know you like the palm of her hand. That’s how well she wants to get to know you. She loves to pay attention to intricate details of what you do and how you do it, that’s why she likes your hands so much, because she gets to observe you doing things.
V-Value (how important is the relationship to them? What is its worth in comparison to other things in their life?).
Very important. She loves you and wants you to be happy.
W-Wild card (a random fluff headcanon?),
You see in Minecraft where there’s the typical “one goes to get the resources, one builds the house” well, Mina is both, she gets the resources and builds you a house so you can concentrate on picking flowers and feeding animals.
X-XOXO (Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?)
She’s 100% a cuddlebug. She just wants to feel your comforting warmth at all times ☹️is that too much to ask? So be a good girlfriend and go cuddle her!!
Y- Yearning (how will they cope when they are missing their partner?)
She’s not whiny, as other members would be, but she can get sad and depressed when she’s busy with work and she misses you. She wants to be with you, but understands that she needs to work and make a living.
Z-Zeal (are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind?)
Hmm, yes to great lengths, for example: if her parents don’t approve of you, she’ll fight for you! If distance separates you, she’ll call you everyday or every night and talk to you as much as she can!
Tumblr media
😳 I’m getting butterflies thinking about Mina fighting for me, so we might get fic of that soon. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed it! Even if it's crappy ;_;

How did you get the motivation to make games? Or the discipline and determination to actually go all the way thru?
I am just a bad developer, but i have some nice ideas and i actually write them down so I don't forget, like a mix of tunic and minecraft, but with a actual conlang for you to learn and not a english cypher
following through is actually something I really really struggled with for years, but I'm much more productive than I used to be, and I have a few strats that help
1: Structure!! The structure that works for me is working on weekdays (even if it takes time to get going!) and strictly taking weekends off, even if it means not working when I really want to. I don't have strict hours during weekdays, but I try to start early enough in the day so that I can work for 6-8 hours before I get sleepy. I always end up filling the time I give myself! Time tends to fly after the first hour or so
My weekends off are super important, too. I think periodically forcing myself *not* to work on my projects makes me enjoy working on them that much more. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and I really feel that in how much I tend to spend my Saturdays, surprisingly, wishing I could be working!! It also helps prevent burnout and offers guilt-free time to play other games, do other hobbies, take care of household chores, etc
2: Thinking time!! It's important to give your mind time to wander, undistracted. That's when inspiration will strike and you'll do your best thinking and planning. I think that's why "shower thoughts" are a thing. Showers are good for this, but they're short! I take daily walks that are between 40 and 120 minutes during which I only listen to music with no words in it--especially music that fits the vibe of my current project! I don't actively try to force my thought process to go anywhere in particular, but it often wanders excitedly to my projects anyway (By the way, I also listen to the same music while I'm working! It's the perfect way to get in, and stay in, the right mindset)
3: Deadlines!! Even soft ones! My roguelike is coming out in 2026. The more I work by then (without overworking myself!), the better the final product will be! The desire to make something really good really drives me
4: Making something you want to play!! Playing my own game is one of the most important parts of my process. The first thing I do every day when I sit down to work is play the game. This naturally drives me toward finding areas I can improve and polish, coming up with features I want, and being motivated to implement those things. The ideal is to feel like a fan of my own work, eagerly awaiting every little update. The more I play, the more I'll tailor the game to my own tastes. This leads to me enjoying it more, so I'll be even more motivated to improve and add to it!
My current project is actually perfect for this, because it's a roguelike (highly replayable, a genre I know I can enjoy for a long time. Binding of Isaac is one of my most played games ever) platformer (one of my favorite genres in general. immediately kinetically satisfying) with a high level of randomization and variety, meaning even I can be surprised by my own game!
The strategies that work for you will likely differ from mine (especially if you have a day job or something!) but hopefully that helps :)

Disjointed but detailed notes about the new lore on Martyn’s stream
I took a lot of notes while watching the VOD of Martyn’s lore stream, and thought I’d share them if anyone’s interested? They may not entirely make sense in the order they’re in, they were mainly for me to keep track of everything, but why not share it
Notes under the cut because it’s long:
General:
Watchers pay a particular interest in him because
This is why why Pearl asked Martyn if he had Tilly, etc. Martyn showing Pearl Tilly’s ashes really hurt and made Pearl go on a downward slope, and in recognition of that it was the first time the Listeners were able to step in and do a temporary swap, to lighten the load on Pearl’s soul by having Lizzie be the embodiment of it. This is because Lizzie wasn’t there for the whole of Double Life (Watchers didn’t need her ready after Last Life), but had enough left “in the tank” to sub in for an episode.
Google Docs on this: “It was more taxing than usual. Sure, Pearl is a top tier player andr reaches the end consistently, but the trauma she experienced was a new level of [bleeped]. It explains why she’s been somewhat uncharacteristic this season, reeling on the loss of Tilly, begging for her back, and then lashing out when she can’t return to those times.”
The second one is now canon.
Originally: returning the memories of war had happened in Cleo and Pearl’s absence was mutually beneficent to both groups, so Cleo and Pearl were none the wiser as they think they lived it, they were given all the emotions and memories to their vessels.
NOTE: this was changed after Martyn is informed Cleo refers to it as an “amnesia cold”, this is what was imprinted into their minds. They have flickers of memories.
It’s advantageous to the Listeners because that puts less strain on their souls than “I completely blacked out last week what happened”.
However, maybe at some point, one of these players would be able to leave and become a Listener/Watcher (the Watchers were able to convert Grian, after all). It would be very difficult for them to, though –it was easy for Grian because it was his and the Watchers’ intent, the Watchers pulled him out for themselves, etc. However, these players are under such scrutiny and under such close watch from the Watchers, it’s very hard for the Listeners to make a dent.
Martyn’s not sure whether he wants to further Grian’s capabilities much.
Evo:
Watchers were entities that were originally meant to represent the viewers, as a vehicle  to have the viewer’s thoughts able to be brought into the world, as well as as a vehicle for him to leave the series.
When he left, the CCs wanted to explore other places, so brought in the Listeners as a rival entity to the Watchers. They tried to help the players flee the Watcher’s grasp and were unsuccessful. As a punishment for fleeing, the Watchers put the Evo players into these death games. The characters who aren’t in the Life series are canonically in different death games with different creators.
It’s not just Evo cast members because the Watchers have dominion over all Minecraft realms and existences and can pull people in from different servers into the death games.
But the Watchers are particularly angry at the Evo crew for trying to flee.
One of the first things the Listeners said to Martyn and Jimmy: “there are some who watch, we are those who listen, and we do not agree, with their most recent decision” – so seems like listeners always
Ep 4:
Slight shift in comfort for c!martyn this season because men’s not there (unguided hand as an acknowledgement), ren is always close to c!martyn
“Forever moulding in the sands” – idea that everything was going to be washed up onto the shore and would just be rotting on the beach, again also idea that Scott would be killed
“Fleeting gill” – fleeting connection to Scott, not SUPER super deep
Ep 7:
“Echoes ring for brief exchange”: First part means that with the listeners you hear an echo – echo is a temporary ripple/thing (as in the sub)
“Disruptions by the ones estranged”: a recognition that the Listeners are of the same race/type of existence as the Watchers.
Ep 8 (before death):
Note: cc!Martyn wishes he’d slightly distorted the voice at the end to make it sound more like the voice to draw attention to this.
He’d also have loved to have random voice clips of important moments for character Martyn throughout the entirety of the life series “eg “my lord!”, different betrayals, different moments that made up c!martyn’s journey so far) interspersed throughout the final countdown, but didn’t have the time.
He wanted to do the countdown in the order that people died, with others joining in as they died, but was unable to get recorded voice lines from everyone. It was also a bit empty with just Jimmy, even if he’d included the voice as well. And again, he was pressed for time.
He initially had the Watcher’s voice as the most prominent one, but ended up pulling different people’s voices to become the central channel.
After death:
Their colour isn’t purple (they’re pure bright light), but they’re sort of tainted purple because the games and void are the Watcher’s domain. The void makes everything purple.
One on hand (repaired): limited life
One on heart: double life (closest to heart, tied to someone else’s heart)
One out of frame but same size, somewhere beneath clothing on his shoulder blades at the back: last life
One on cheek: 3rd life, cc!Martyn likes the idea of it being there because that was a tear shed when Ren fell, that was the moment that sort of broke c!martyn and made him more selfish in future series (ouch).
Character Martyn:
He doesn’t know all this is going on. He’s completely unconscious in the void when the Listeners do stuff, and in the world there’s no point in which e knows c!Grian is a Watcher who’s inserted himself into the game. The only time c!Martyn was a glimpse at the truth was at the end of Last Life, when they dropped the veil and spoke to him, but couldn’t comprehend it.
Despite fragment protection, there won’t be much change in how c!Martyn’s games will go. The beings are very very old and powerful, and we as the audience doesn’t know if there have been a bunch of different life series and games that have happened in between of each of the shown Life series. They could have run 3rd Life a number of times, could have run Last Life a number of times, etc, without our knowledge.
Listeners probably won’t be able to communicate with Martyn next season.
Other characters/characters in general:
They still hate Scott, despite him obeying the Boogeyman in session 1, partly because he still holds onto his principles and is still honourable and trusting of others, and doesn’t hold contempt even prior to Watchers feeding on emotions – he’s always happy for others to take the win, etc. They don’t get many negative emotions from Scott, which frustrates them from.
Theory that Grian and Jimmy were pushed off by the Watchers isn’t canon to Martyn’s POV, but still can be in fanon of course.
Any players that haven’t returned yet are absent because they’ve gone through too much trauma and haven’t recovered yet. If they go back in too fragmented and broken, they’d stand to ruin the game – they’d be sort of ‘deranged’, but not the way the Watchers could feed on – they’d be cowering in the corner as easy kills, and it’s not what the Watchers are trying to do – they want people to be calm and calculated and lie and betray, they like feeding on more complex human emotions than just emptiness.
Other notes:
Clips/visuals in the countdown (they were reversed btw):
Lim life 5 (martyn landed on glass), dl 4, ll 9, 3l 8. There are frames of the Red Winter moment too
He wanted to choose episodes of prominence, didn’t think about clips too much (they were randomised?).
Song at the end is a custom song made by sparkles
We’ll be delving into lore late this year! There’s a comic cc!Martyn wants to make about it, and also more he wants to do with Chapter 3.
He’s currently in Chapter 3 of the lore (“Into the Datastream”), which is part Vtuber part Life Series.
Chapter 4, which we’re not in yet, is called “Fragment Wars” – fragments are still more layered than they appear, but we somewhat have an idea of what they are now.
Chapter 2 was just called “Life” – beginning of Death Games. Chapter 1 was called “Memory Lane” (Evo – trip down Minecraft lane memory versions), using Evo as a launch part to begin Martyn’s story.
There’s a transition he wants to do from Chapter 4 into Chapter 5, there’s a certain something he wants to do (which has something to do with the Vtuber lore, because cc!Martyn said he wishes the Vtuber stuff took off more than it did).
Vtuber lore: Chapter 1 has no interfacing with VTuber stuff, it’s not intertwined with Evo. Chapters 2 and 3 are a weird blend with some sort of transition points with Vtuber stuff between them, and 4 and beyond are properly intertwined.
He didn’t lost fragments in Rats.
Martyn currently has around 12 A4 pages of lore and story, which is all a very condensed version of the events, so there’s a LOT to come!

HERMITCRAFT S9 - THE FAKE POKEMON GAME
TLDR: A *reads* +4k words infodump about imagining a hermitcraft fakemon game O(-(
CONTENT: >Region >New Gen Mechanic >Hermits (and their roles in the plot of the fakemon) >Maingame Story >Additional Locations of interest >Post-Game & Empires
[EVERYTHING UNDERCUT]
A/N: Basing this as if it’s a game you can just pick-up and play. Cuz of this there’s lots of mentions of ‘The Player’. Will I update this? Maybe! There’s still lots of holes (eg actually building each Hermit’s teams, lore behind the legendaries). Will update ideas come to mind.
REGION
Entire server of Season 9 is the region. Hypothetically it should be possible to fight each hermit at least once. Most you can find and battle them at their main-bases, which for some hermits doubles as a Gym.
King Ren is the current champion and the Pokemon League of this game is located at The Vault. The champion’s status is guarded behind the Knights of the Squaretable also known as the Elite 4. Together they also make up the antagonist group of the game known as Team Crown. By successfully conquering the champion also means overthrowing the monarchy :]
The region of Hermitcraft S9 is what Johto is to Kanto - after defeating the main game, a whole new area is opened to the player allowing access to travel to the Empires server.
NEW MECHANIC (HERMITCRAFT TCG)
Whole new way of battling - the mechanic introduced here relies on the synergy and teamwork of the player’s entire team as not one - but 5 of your pokemon must be brought onto the field. Same win-conditions as canon Hermitcraft TCG - eliminate at least 3 or all of your opponents’ pokemon off the field.
As it’s a team-based game, it is not advised to harm yourself and KO your own pokemon as a point would then be awarded to the opposing team regardless.
Players cannot bring in any outside items into TCG matches. Items that are permitted in these matches are acquired via cards from the TCG gacha system that can be used to help strengthen the power of a pokemon’s moves (ITEM CARDS), strengthen a pokemon from oncoming attacks and remedy status effects (EFFECT CARDS), or put the opposing at a disadvantage (SINGLE-USE). These come in the form of slips to bring in before each match. Instead of minecraft items, these are named after pokemon items (Burn heals, Hyper Potion, escape rope, etc)
Players can’t revive fainted pokemon in TCG matches BUT can bring in their 6th Pokemon into the field using a Revive Card (SINGLE-USE).
HERMITS
Specifically - hermits prominent in the plot of the game’s story. Technically all of them are there. These are just some I thought of :]
SOUP GROUP - RESISTANCE FOUNDERS:
IMPULSE: Head of the Resistance, ELECTRIC Type Gym Leader! First person to approach the player into joining the Resistance. Helps keep the agriculture of the region running but progress has been running into a lot of conflict, unfair treatment because of Team Crown as of late.
PEARL: Another founder of the Resistance, Pokemon Professor from another region! She is studying the new species of pokemon and is currently investigating the mysterious behavioral patterns this region of pokemon has! Sources of this nature later show stemming from the Grass/Dragon legendary and the Tree of Whimsy.
GEM: Another founder of the Resistance, FAIRY Type Gym Leader! Is suspicious of the player at first but her trust is earned later. Quite an intimidating foe nonetheless. Often absent from her gym here and there. Later discovered it’s because she travels between Hermitcraft and Empires regions (a Gym Leader for both)
TEAM CROWN:
REN: Current Champion, Figure-head position of Team Crown! Once a humble champion, now corrupted by a strange aura and influence from his Hand. I like to think he’s like Leon PKMN SWSH :] Later becomes an advisor himself when training people for TCG-type matches post-game!
BDUBS: Royal Hand, the Brains behind Team Crown, GRASS Type Elite! Unconfirmed if true, gains his status by connections with the Grass/Dragon legendary and the Tree of Whimsy. Often surrounded by a group of burmys at his side. Talent for being able to understand Pokemon fluently.
SCAR: Head of the Royal Guard, Region-Wide Celebrity (Hotguy), FLYING Type Elite! Having the title as one of Team Crown’s Elite gives him a lot of power over what he can do. Throughout the main game he goes on about a Hotguy film he’s in the middle of making, aspiring to be one of the best pokemon superhero movies ever! However in the process of making it he goes drunk with power, causing a lot of wreckage when filming very dangerous stunts across the region. It is the player’s job to stop him from doing so- eventually talking him into a better, safer solution for his scenes.  [MORE ON SCARLAND AND HOTGUY HQ LATER] SCAR’S PARTY INCLUDES: >SWELLOW - His ace- also the second shining star in the Hotguy films and airshows. >ALTERIA , SWANNA , EMOLGA , SKARMORY Overall beautiful and/or strong, heroic looking pokemon - they’re all show worthy. The Player NEVER fights Jellie btw (Scarland’s mascot and his bestie!) Scar won’t allow anyone to hurt her.
CUB: Pokemon researcher for Team Crown (and himself), DARK Type Elite! Literally imagine the Colress of Team Crown that is him. Strat uses a lot of items and gizmos for his team - which is like broken for a Pokemon game. Was in the process of making an army of mechanical pokemon - super diabolical shit you find in Pokemon Violet kinda vibes. He plays more fairly (albeit more chaotic) post-game and even runs Total Chaos. [MORE ON TOTAL CHAOS LATER]
PROFESSORS:
PEARL: [Mentioned above]
GRIAN: A close research friend of Pearl, he is mentioned to the player early on- one of the first tasks is to give him a letter from Pearl when the player reaches the capital (spawn) - and meets him for the first time in front of the Normal Type Gym venue. Unlike Pearl, Professor Grian studies time-and-space travel! Grian’s adaptive and changes his type specialization based on the situation (ie the people he subs for) but his personal party is entirely bird-themed SOME OF GRIAN’S PERSONAL PARTY INCLUDES: >ARCHEOPS - Grian’s ace. The very first pokemon he was able to revive using >XATU - The party’s second in command. Recruited shortly after his Archeops, Xatu’s future/past sight and intelligence helps Grian in his Rift research.
TANGO: Official researcher and archeologist of the Citadel! Throughout the main game, the player encounters Tango several times and does several errands/tests which would help the development of the Citadel which is currently off limits until post game. [MORE ON DECKED OUT AND THE CITADEL LATER]
BEEF: Pioneer of pokemon TCG-battles! Researches the importance of synergy between different pokemon and their typings. Was used to observe patterns with multiple pokemon playing as a team - now a popular mechanic across the region (and Empires)! [SEE NEW MECHANIC] Also serves as move tutor and general advisor when caring and training your pokemon!
OTHER:
‘FALSE’: FIGHTING Type Gym Leader! Backstory similar to every victim affected by time travel. There is also another version of False in the Empires region as well (the current Champion of that region, similar to the pokemon party to Steven Stone).
ETHO: Ex-Champion! The Hermitcraft region’s previous Champion. Disappeared unknowingly. Carries a similar vibe to Champion Red when the player fights him on Mt Silver. The Player can fight him post-game as a sidequest [MORE ON THE EX-CHAMPION ETHO LATER]
STORY
HOMETOWN You start in the canyon where Soup Group have built their bases (gyms), supposedly one of the people who group up in the civilisation of Pearl’s base. Pearl is one of the region’s (many) professors who has been studying the nature of pokemon and their unique behavior in the region as of late and needs YOU to broaden her research. You’re given your starter when she invites you to the upstairs secret lab. Pearl directs to go through the gym badges as per usual - starting with tackling the Electric Gym across the canyon that is run by Impulse. There is also a Fairy Gym in the same area but is currently inaccessible from the current location (also the gym leader isn’t there right now).
By defeating the Electric Gym and its leader, Impulse notices the starter pokemon and your potential strength as a trainer blah blah and he lets you in on his plan to start a resistance and overthrow Team Crown and their strong grip on the region. By joining the Resistance, the plan is to collect all 8 Gym Badges as per normal whilst convincing the other gym leaders -strong pokemon trainers- to join the cause. The player leaves via the secret human-tunnel under Pearl’s base and that’s where the journey truly begins.
GYM LEADER LIST (and order)
GYM 1 : IMPULSE - Electric Gym
GYM 2 : KERALIS - Rock Gym (bc someone else took grass)
GYM 3 : XB - Water Gym
GYM 4 : GEM - Fairy Gym
GYM 5 : JEVIN Fire Gym (because of the firework shop)
GYM 6 : GRIAN sub for Mumbo - Normal Gym
GYM 7 : ‘FALSE’ - Fighting Gym
GYM 8 : DOC - Dragon Gym
Choice in gym leaders (excluding Etho) comes from who participated in the Vault Challenge. Often before challenging each gym and their leader, the player must do a few tasks/challenges that would benefit the development of each base / help along each gym leader. Some (at least half) the gym leaders are TCG-based games!
GYM NOTES OF INTEREST:
GYM 4 - FAIRY TYPE (Gem): Start of the story begins with the original THREE members of the Resistance: Soup Group. The player meets ⅔ of the founders early within the game whilst only hearing word of Gem who is MIA until you can access the 4th Gym that she runs. This is also when you are awarded the fast travel option of FLY (the elytra). Meeting Gem, she is still skeptical of her co-captains’ choice of a scouter (Pearl can be a bit too lax sometimes and Impulse straight-up the sweetest, kindest person on the
GYM 6 - NORMAL TYPE (Grian sub): All the gyms are located at their bases EXCEPT for the Normal Gym. At first the player will go to Mumbo’s base only to find it sealed shut. Grian shows up explaining the Normal Gym Leader hasn’t been there for a while so he’s filling his spot for the meantime (he tends to do this a lot - he’s very adaptive). Grian brings the player to his underground lab giving first glance of a very Suspicious Machine that would not be completed until post-game. The player can play against the ACTUAL Normal-type Gym Leader post-game through a sidequest.
POKEMON LEAGUE - COUP DE VAULT: By helping the Hermits around the server would lead to opening a train in the Shopping District which leads to Pokemon League AKA the Vault where the Player alongside Soup Group and all the Gym Leaders a part of the Resistance will go to confront Team Crown. The group will go through various obstacle challenges in each Elite 4 room before fighting each Knight.  [I love the themed rooms they did for the Elite 4 in PKMN BW/BW2 so the same thing happens here!]
The order and typing goes as follows:
CUB (DARK - reminded me of Skulk): Obstacle course is a dark, scary labyrinth from point A to point B. Player must press buttons that would both create a path to help the other Resistance as well as expel skulk that is in the way.
CLEO & JOE (GHOST/PSYCHIC): Imagine the colour tiles from Undertale except they actually work. They act as a double battle.
SCAR (FLYING): Vertical labyrinth with springtraps that propel the player - needing to press buttons to build the bridge to the Hotguy Arena.
GRIAN ? (N/A): Normally Iskall would be Steel but Grian subs in for him. He loans the player his set of TCG cards to help in the upcoming fights when the player beats him.
BDUBS (GRASS): No obstacle. The player isn’t even meant to fight him here but he interjects with a strange aura surrounding him that compels him to protect the King’s position. The player fights him in a back-to-back fight: First phase with his team, second is a TCG-based fight against him and the Grass/Dragon legendary he pulled somehow in a fit of rage… Something seems to be controlling both of them. [Best I can describe this fight is the Rose/Eternatus fight between the Elite 4 and the Champion in PKMN SWSH.] Defeating Bdubs would not only remove the spell off of Bdubs and the legendary done on by the Tree of Whimsy but triggers the legendary to come to its senses and flee (the player can catch it later in a post-game sidequest).
REN (N/A): Classic pokemon battle. No specialized typing but carries balanced, regal themed pokemon. His party changes entirely to something more TCG-battle heavy post-game.
ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS OF INTEREST
DECKED OUT (CITADEL): Like canon Decked Out it’s still a dungeon crawler. In each run the player must travel through the floors collecting artifacts. Each player in each run is given a special device that gauges health and bloops them back to the start if it detects the player is too weak or all their pokemon have fainted.
The run starts at the top floor ‘ground floor’ at the Crypts and they have to survive as long as possible solving ancient puzzles, avoiding traps and find collectibles that would help in Tango’s research. To reach the ‘endgoal’ of Decked Out, a player must collect all artifacts and survive one more run and make it to the lowest floor alive in order to interact with the Mythical Pokemon that lives there.
Like TCG-based battles, no outside items are allowed in the Citadel. This is to prevent littering and damages to the floors below. Instead Tango rewards players items after each run, these items are specialized to best aid the player throughout the floors.
GAMING DISTRICT: With the help of Scarland and a bunch of hermits - the Gaming District was born! It’s a giant casino and funpark where games are played for the same reason it is in real life. The owner of the district is a seasonal event as he is a famous producer from far away regions (often hosting elsewhere) but the player can battle him whenever he’s in town. This owner (MC?) is known as Martyn InTheLittleWood and while his party doesn’t have a specific typing, the requirements must be that each pokemon involved must be from a different region. It was rumoured that he dominated a Pokemon League once with a party entirely consisting of regional mice!
TOTAL CHAOS: Hypothetically the player can battle against every hermit multiple times. If the player has met them at least once whether throughout main game or post - their name will be added to the register of Total Chaos which acts as this region’s Battle Towers.
SCARLAND:
Scarland ITSELF is similar to Pokemon’s Nimbasa City in the way it has advanced technology designed to heighten the entertainment of the park. Beauty contests are held here too. And the park’s mascot is Scar’s very special Togetic, the happiness pokemon named Jellie :3
HOTGUY HQ: Repurposed from an evil lair during the main game to a Hotguy movie studio. It is an extension of Scarland but the equivalent of Pokestar Studios where both the player and Scar can make their own movies and shows etc.
POST GAME
Includes post-game quests! Players are now able to rematch Hermits not just in regular battles but TCG-based battles as well at the TCG Arena! Decked Out (2) in the Citadel is also available region-wide!
BDUBS & LEGENDARY SIDE-QUEST: Completing the championship and breaking the Tree of Whimsy’s control. The player can visit Bdubs in his Monolith - a mysterious, broken-down white temple structure discovered by him and is currently under renovations. This is also the only region in the server where burmys are native to the area - you can’t find them anywhere else. Talking to him, he tells he’s coping with the situation fine but still feels guilty about the way he treated his friend (the Grass/Dragon legendary) during the reign and wishes to apologize to it.
Triggering this interaction spurs a number of quests Bdubs sends the player on, visiting various ruins across the region - collecting different items that would help both summon the Grass/Dragon legendary as well as things that would help Bdubs apologize to it. Once all quests have been done, Bdubs will do a ritual under the Tree of Whimsy that summons the Grass/Dragon legendary - he apologizes - the legendary forgives him - and the player is allowed to catch the legendary if they want.
ETHO SIDE-QUEST: Not presented as a ‘side-quest’ more of an unexpected encounter or one of those spooky ghost encounters that happen in older generations. Once the player is able to access the jungle section of the region (locked until post-game) and the Joe Hill’s pinball machine. After fighting Joe in a TCG-based fight, he tells the player about a strange tower that has appeared nearby and asks the player to check it out. It is never stated in the game but this tower is Etho’s gym (his base).
The aesthetic of it is a mix between steampunk and an abandoned waterpark. The base is very run-down, claimed by encroaching growth from the jungle biome around. There are several completed and incomplete passageways to the top riddled with redstone puzzles and zoomy labyrinths - the state of it only adding difficulty when in goal of getting to its peak.
Getting to the top the player finds the person behind such tower overseeing the view from the top-to-ground below him. He gives a casual hello ^_^ and initiates a battle. No particular typing but his team consists of older-gen pokemon including his Absol.
Winning against him he gives a casual buh-bye u_u and disappears - triggering the player to black-out finding himself at the bottom of the shallow river (the base was built above), with a worried Joe Hills hovering above them. He helps the player up and asks just what on earth they are doing in the middle of the jungle. And when the player asks about Etho and the tower- Joe has no idea what they are talking about - as if he never gave the player that quest at all.
MUMBO SIDE-QUEST: By visiting the Vault (the TRUE Normal Type Gym) again they’ll find that it’s left… ajar! Going inside it is dark but make enough ruckus and solve enough redstone puzzles  will bring out a very disgruntled Mumbo who wants you out of his gym. Winning in a battle against Mumbo would make him reflect - thinking how easy it was to enter the Vault “If YOU could make it this far… so would Grian!”. This triggers a mini-quest of his own helping Mumbo fortify the gym (making it as Grian-proof as possible)...
RIFT SIDE-QUEST (GRIAN): By the time the main game is complete Grian would have near completed his studies on the Rift. Grian requests help from the player to send out invitation cards for the machine’s grand opening -  NOW giving the player access to the Empires region!
EMPIRES
From there, like Kanto, the player is able to collect 8 more gym badges, another Elite 4 and challenge Champion False of that region.
Additional quests by both Hermits and Empires can lead to the development of the Empires’ very own Pokemon League known as Hermitopia.
GYM LEADER LIST (and order) The following order is put together based on geography in accordance with the Empires 2 map - guiding the player across the Empires in one giant circle back to spawn.
GYM 1:PIX - Rock Gym (Ancient Capital) One of the first people the player will meet at spawn (since it’s so close). Winning against him he awards the player a map of the region! He directs you to the next Empire with the next gym location (Tumble Town)
GYM 2: JIMMY - Ground Gym (Tumble Town) Entering the town begins in total chaos with a rampaging, hostile pokemon in the mines Someone released as a prank on the gym leader. Catching the pokemon and then battling Jimmy he thanks the player and asks to help him find who the culprit is. The player is motioned to head East to Eversea (Also to say hi to a friend in Sanctuary!)
GYM 3: JOEY - Water Gym (Eversea) The region’s portland and main place of external goods and bounty etc. Interrogating Joey after his gym battle the player finds it’s not him but discovers an important clue that guides the player to the next location (AFTER Sanctuary of course).
GYM 4: SAUSAGE - Grass Gym (Sanctuary) The quieter side of the two neighboring empires. Built on sacred land, the people and pokemon that dwell here praise the legendary pokemon for the changing of seasons, the night that gives time for rest, and the days that bring new harvests. (The player can’t catch these legendaries) I like to think these legendaries as well as the Grass/Dragon legendary back in the Hermitcraft Region are connected in some way too :]
GYM 5: SHUBBLE - Poison Gym (Evermore) A small shanty village hidden deep within the swamp. Questioning Shubble, while she was not the perpetrator - she was able to deduce the poison that came with the clue Joey identified and what type of pokemon was able to produce such poison. The player is directed to said location (Chromia) where said pokemon is most common there.
GYM 6: SCOTT - Psychic (Chromia) A newer settlement set in the plains. Bustling and lively for its arts and festivals held there. While Scott confirms the pokemon that produced the pokemon comes from Chromia, he cannot disclose who caught this pokemon (under contract). Maybe if the player could talk to the pokemon (get a translator) they would be able to get information from them about the situation.Scott directs the player to Animalia - advising to take the gym badge from Gobland in the process (needed to pass through)
GYM 7: FWHIP - Steel (Gobland) The empire has a direct entrance that takes trainers from Gobland straight to Animalia. This empire specializes in regional trade. It is also one of the first places to implement the TCG-based battle system. The player gets to see both trainers and pokemon alike practice the new system. Fwhip alongside Pix (with remote guidance from Beef) also in charge of creating new TCG cards - special to the Empires region!
GYM 8: LIZZIE - Normal (Animalia) Another pokemon concentrated hub, the pokemon here especially are intelligent enough to be able to fluently communicate with its human citizens. It is the region’s knowledge hub. Completing Lizzie’s gym challenge and bringing out the pokemon from Tumble Town - Lizzie is able to communicate with it discovering the perpetrator for the prank was Joel all along.
The player can still access other unvisited empires such as Dawn - they just won’t get to verse the leaders there until the league.
By the time the player collects all 8 gym badges. The Pokemon League (Hermitopia) would be complete and a region-wide event would be held there. Here, the player would be able to go against the 3 (technically 4) Elite members and Champion False.
OLLIE (N/A): Technically was not nominated as an Elite Member but interrupts before the player could proceed higher into the tower
GEM (DRAGON): The REAL beginning of the Elite. The player discovers this is the same Gem from Hermitcraft but keeps it a secret. Turns out this region is where she flies to! (She’s dragon-type not only cuz it’s a nice parallel to her Fairy-type gym but also her Season 1 lore)
KATHERINE (DARK): Chose dark because contrast and so I can say that morepeko is her ace :]
JOEL (FLYING): The true culprit of the prank in Tumble Town… They make up in the end after this fight it’s fine!
No challenges, just classic back-to-back Elite 4 fighting like regular pokemon games (This plotline is so long already)
FALSE (N/A): Reaching the top of Hermitopia is a familiar feeling with familiar people. No typing, a strong balanced team of pokemon from newer generations. (Like to think however THIS False’s ace is the same type of pokemon as the False back in the Hermitcraft region.

off topic but after reading your micah yujin bf hcs (the minecraft one specifically) I imagined like after possibly YEARS you get married and after like irl marriage Micah prepares a server FOR ANOTHER MARRIAGE like its just u,him,ur and his friends vibing on a server (U DONT KNOW SHITT ABT WHAT OTHERS R PLANNING)
Then they decide to give u a task or a quest or smth idk and they prepare the wedding ceremony's place as u struggle, after coming back tho YOU COME ACROSS A WEDDING CEREMONY HALL (before there was something cheesy planned by Micah probably, idk like a tiny puzzle he prepared for you and as you go along you read the signs he wrote,THEY'RE ALL FUCKING SAPPY AND WHOLESOME)
U r now married both legally irl AND on minecraft,u bet he celebrates both of those events' dates even after YEARS AND YEARS
— minecraft wedding with micah hcs
micah has been planning this longer than you think. he's been laying down the steps while you were asleep or busy with work.
^ burying chests in places you've visited and made bases in—at world spawn, your first house, that one super big ravine that shocked the both of you, etc etc
as for the reasoning for sending you off on a quest,, it'd probably be something like, under the guise of getting all the achievements and needing resources. or he's literally just like, here's a quest for an incredible secret prize from me ;))
^ you going "oh do i get to marry you again?" as a joke and he laughs like "oh? you want to make it official again? renewing already?" but he can feel his heart rate increase
you end up reading his thoughts on different events both in the game and in real life. you know for someone who already had irl wedding vows, this guy sure has a Lot more to say.
^"this is the stuff i had to cut out so my vows wouldn't be 3 hours long." is somewhere in a book by the way. he's real for that!
( ^ still manages to write his mc vows with a book and quill. finishes the book after you say i do)
imagining there's signs at every location too with cheesy pickup lines that he's used on you in the past. the most iconic ones (the ones he genuinely spent time to think of and planned when to drop on you) plus the casual ones he'd drop throughout the day
he does something silly in a double chest like strategically placing flowers in a heart shape with diamonds/something special in the middle
micah downloads specific mods on both of your desktops to make sure that you can get the Perfect Experience
^ i'm thinking mrcrayfish's furniture mod and pam's harvestcraft kind of deal if those are still updated. i have no idea i haven't played minecraft in a Long time
you realize it looks familiar and like,, he definitely tried to mimic the original wedding venue in the game. it's actually kind of shocking how familiar it feels
I Know You Have Cats. there's a cat that's supposed to be skrunkly/skrunkly's long lost relative, um,,, skrinkly. for sure. every pet is in the audience!
micah setting up fireworks to go off, your friends shifting and throwing flowers at you, etc etc
^ has a big firework show during dinner at night. literally sprints around so he gets hungry and can eat cake
oh my god sorry but like,, you guys all being in a discord call singing and it's the vc lag would be funny. a memory for sure. but there's also those proximity based mic mod things (i watched sykkuno) which would definitely make it all more realistic!
makes a whole thing of crafting beds and putting them next to each other
makes sure there's a time slot somewhere for screenshots . there has to be a folder made and shared for screenshots of the wedding and it has a silly name i think.
^ would not hesitate to print the photos because he thinks they're cute and also a little silly. puts them with the real wedding photos and scatters them around your house
^ sorry but you having an irl wedding photo that's professional and gorgeous then a (still gorgeous) minecraft screenshot right next to it. shaders and everything like that is so perfect to me personally.

What are your ideas on the differences between a human and a demon, I've seen many many many many differing interpretations and I wanna collect them all like Pokémon cards
I have a couple thoughts on this actually!!!!
So first off the big ones, physically there's a bunch of differences between humans and demons, and even between demons themselves!
To me, humans generally follow like IRL rules and shit like that, but theres additional things that kinda come with minecraft mechanics. Obviously theres respawn, but i personally attribute that to some kind of supernatural occurrences or very specific circumstances. In the case of the QSMP there's cannon vs non-cannon/in-universe deaths, but i also like to keep the Federation in mind - they obviously have some sort of hand in the life cycle on quesadilla island, with the eggs having two lives and whatnot, and being able to briefly bring them back to speak with their parents before being sent off to the afterlife. I personally think humans have IRL mechanics, but organizations like the Federation or even sometimes standalone experimental organizations can have a hand in trying to affect the human life cycle.
We have god-like beings, angels and ferrymen of death and whatnot, and i cant help but remember the Hunger Games lore where more than one life wasnt given which is cannon to the QSMP. I also like to consider the DSMP, which is semi-cannon, where they had multiple "cannon" lives (as opposed to the QSMP where they have one "cannon" life from what we've seen) and Ghosts and resurrections and all that, human life from what ive seen is not only fragile but flexible! Can be broken but also can be bent!
I got a little side tracked but point is: humans - one life (unless interfered with) Demons - not one life! (Bad follows a death/rebirth cycle/We dont know how mouse and tina operate/etc.)
Other physicalities I consider is humans are generally pretty realistically sturdy, they easily lose limbs but can wear prosthetics, and with the help of magic they can be immune to certain things (Still organizing my thoughts on Fit's recent lore - might think abt that more later).
Demons are not only sturdier (Bad/Mouse/tina/dapper/pomme/emmie having generally neutral reactions to radiation, obviously bad and dapper arent doing the best but theyre fairing MUCH better than a human would in their condition) but i like to imagine they can shape shift a little? we know the eggs generally like to hc bad as a shapeshifter that can get bigger/smaller, but he has consistent features he cant really get rid of as far as we've seen like his horns and tail. When i draw him, i generally vary his horn shape/length and change his body type and height a little in every drawing on purpose, but also i like extending this to the other demons! Mouse and Tina obviously look more human, but like cc!tina has talked about how she likes q!tina to have huge fucking knockers and i like to imagine they can change that themselves, it just makes sense to me! There are limitations to it, in my mind the horns are a consistent and identifying feature on them that they cant really change without a TON of practice. But the rules are bendy, ykwim? they can be more or less animalistic, swap physically gendered traits, shift from nails to claws, etc.
As far as cannon things go, we know demons generally have a better nose and all smell like sulfur, humans smell different to them, probably like BO or something lol
Thinking magic wise, humans obviously dont experience a ton of it, but magic is everywhere! In the air, on your skin, and thats to say i just think its funny to imagine that demons can be summoned by saying their name 5 times kjbhvjbn
Culturally, demons are definitely a lot different not only from humans but from one another and i think thats entirely based on their upbringing! I could write a lot about that, but the first thing off the top of my head is like their clothing i guess? We see from mouse and bad's clothing they tend to wear pretty gear-like clothing, i guess is how you could describe it? I like to imagine belts and buckles are something theyre used to wearing, maybe for aesthetic reasons, maybe for mechanical reasons! Maybe in hell you gotta carry a lotta small shit, or rock climbing is a popular activity, who knows!
Demon culture as well to me includes horn pride, ykwim? They care for and polish their horns, paint them for celebrations and decorate them with jewelry! Theres popular standard colors like black and white but choosing something more extravagant is common! Like matching your hair color if you have it dyed a fun color, staining it, painting it patterned for birthdays or holidays. Maybe its like homestuck purpleblood facepaint rules, where showing your bare horns is something you do with special people you trust a lot? Thats something very cute to me.
Also! Mentioned this in another post! i like the idea of Pool noodle jail!! Putting pool noodles on the horns of baby demons who cant stop headbutting eachother! thats adorable to me!!

IM SORRY THIS ISNT MEANT TO BE AGGRESSIVE i have not been on this part of the internet in a long time so things might have changed but.... last i heard the proship label encompassed things (in fiction) like inc/st, abusive relationships, p/do shit, etc... is that still correct? idk if thats what you were talking about in your tags because i do not know Anything about minecraft youtubers but usually when people put proship in their dni theyre denouncing that stuff. just wanted to clarify im understanding your complaints, no harm intended!
No problem!! it can be confusing lol, nothing wrong with being unsure. All-in-all, you're kinda close with that idea, but still not on target. explanations of proship vs anti, the d/mp fandom's take on it, and my thoughts on it all under the cut:
So proship as a philosophy is about wether or not things like that (in fiction) translate to real life, which is why it's connected to censorship like i mentioned in the post- if you believe that watching or reading something problematic will make more problematic things happen, that someone reading a book with a child/adult relationship makes them more likely to (or is on it's own already the same as) a person pursuing that in real life, that makes you an anti; and it also gives you a big reason to push for works like that being taken down or removed, and for people who make or read that stuff to be put in real prisons or face other real life consequences for fictional acts- because the idea is that, to an anti, these things bleed into each other.
being proship isn't equivalent to enjoying dark fiction like that, but it IS equivalent to believing that, similar to fictional violence, fictional crimes or acts of any kind can be created and consumed by artists and audiences without people actually condoning it IRL. a proshipper would say that if someone plays a video game where they murder someone, and then does it IRL, thats on the PERSON, not the media- and they hold the same position for fictional portrayals of incest, abusive relationships, and pedophilic relationships. the name comes from being pro- as in for- ships, and other content, as a whole; without it having to meet IRL moral criteria.
dark fiction freaks me out personally; the biggest ick (and actually a trigger for me) being incest; It bothers me and i stay away from it. but I don't think that people who read or make it are going to condone it IRL directly because of that media, and I believe that if they WERE to do something bad like abusing someone, it'd be an unrelated/seperate issue: an independent choice that only they are responsible for, not anything they made or watched or read.
That makes me fall under proship, even though I don't like any problematic (as in incest, abuse, adult/minor) ships. Personally, I literally follow people who like things that bother me in that way: i just block the tags so when they post something i really don't wanna see, tumblr tells me, hey, this post has this thing in it so we've spoilered it. If someone likes shipping their silly little blorbos and those silly little blorbos are kinda fucked up in a way that makes their brain go brrr, that's totally chill with me as long as they aren't hurting anyone- which, because i don't think fiction equates to reality, I believe they aren't when they're playing with their blorbos. (and since i'm pro-rpf, it's worth mentioning i feel the same about that. rpf is still FICTION, at the end of the day. you don't actually expect those people to do the things you write or draw. it's still removed from reality. that's personal preference though, many proshippers would disagree.)
So basically proship or Anti is a label that represents your philosophy on how human thoughts and behavior link to fiction. anti means you believe that consuming something fictional is equivalent to doing it in real life, or at least will make you do it IRL later, while proship means you believe that consuming something fictional is unrelated to doing it IRL, and you can enjoy something fictionally without actually enjoying it or condoning it when it's real people.
you will, of course, see more people who enjoy dark fiction under proship, and that's because they themselves consume it- so of course they're going to say it's not the same as doing it IRL. You will also, of course, see more people who don't like dark fiction at all under anti, because when you're disgusted by something like that then that reaction can be taken as "evidence" that it's morally bad. (personally, disgust-based morality doesn't hold up as a concept for me- it's a big reason why bigots believe the things they do, so using the same logic path makes me uncomfortable, but it is still common for people to use it as a way to measure wether something is okay or not.)
so, the part about silly block game.
there's lots of censoring in this part to avoid harassment, so bear with me.
In the early days of the d/mp, people decided that creating romantic content around the b-nchtr-o (Tmmy, tvbb0, and rnb00, who were all around 16 at the time) was inherently problematic. I'm not sure why, exactly, but the idea became that a fan crushing on one of them (at the exact same age!!!) or shipping them with each other, even as characters, was equivalent to being a real life child predator. again, even if the person doing it was ALSO a minor.
because it was seen as inherently problematic, behaviors like those were lumped in with other things problematic- shipping characters on the smp who had fought or killed each other, shipping characters who were related or were minor/adult, etc. there was no distinction; i was there!! it was all problematic, and all of it was seen as evidence that you were a real life predator of some kind regardless of age or disclaimers put under your content.
the label that developed for this group of "problematic content" enjoyers within the fandom became "poppytwt" or "ppytwt". (twt being there because it was mainly localized around twitter). as i explained above, because it could be because of dark fiction OR be//htr/o content, poppytwt content and ships doesn't even require it being dark fiction necessarily, nor does it require it being b//chtr/o; just one or the other, although usually the assumption is that it's both, since that combines the two reasons for being under that label. some people also call any proshippers in the fandom poppy even if they don't engage in anything problematic in-fandom, but that's generally the antis and not people themselves. if someone self describes as poppy, it's for the two main reasons above.
Additionally, the d/mp fandom has this concept of "maintagging". what this means is that if you make problematic content, you are NOT ALLOWED to tag it under the fandoms or characters it's about, because people don't want to see it in their results. ao3 has a tag filtering feature for this exact purpose, but people generally disregaurd that; you're still not supposed to tag it on the "main" tags, and doing so is seen almost like "asking for" harassment, like how some people talk about wearing crop tops alone at night.
Tntd/o managed to cross over, actually, from poppy to main/normalized in the fandom as the creators leaned into it with their characters. but for awhile even that was considered poppy.
different members of ppytwt have different opinions on RPF, but RPF was also considered poppy on it's own sometimes depending on who you were talking to and how militant they were on what got a pass and what didn't.
as be/chtr/o aged....it didn't stop?? all of them hit 18, but still, to this day, you can be cancelled for shipping them with each other or ANYONE else. it's why i'm so damn scared of the d/mp fandom, if i tagged a fic about my source with his character tag, with ANYTHING other than platonic relationships for him/me, I run the risk of being sent threats or doxxed- don't get me wrong, many antis keep to themselves, but there are also those who try to play vigilante- remember, if something fictional is equivalent to IRL, then attacking someone for enjoying a "bad" fictional thing becomes a charitable, heroic act; so sometimes antis might pursue proshippers with the goal of keeping people "safe". Many people in related fandoms or under the same creators also adopted the same ideals handed down from the d/mp fandom, so i'm wary of people who just watch my source too, or of people who like the q/mp.
people joke about the old fandom going crazy if they say tvbb0 and tmmy today, and that's because they would. they'd be furious at tmmy for doing this bit and putting himself in danger, they'd be cancelling anyone who ran with the bit in chat or had a photo of them hugging or kissing like in the music video as a profile picture, it'd be a whole mess. even today though it's still...scary.
((paused there to take a strawberry milk break, im back now))
the somewhat exception to this rule is Rnb00- people literally thirst for them and make nsfw comments openly, so while im not sure about the shipping aspect, i do know simping is widely okay- you couldn't even say you wanted to kiss them before, but now people are saying wayyy more than that...
inversely, i feel like my source has it the worst, because people won't even talk about him- or anything related to him- as an adult. it's always child this and child that, "who let him drink" and "get the alcohol away from the baby!", and of couse "don't ship him or his character with anyone that makes you a pedophile!!!" while the grown ass man they're talking about outright says he's alright with sfw fanfiction in a video where he reacts to someone's x-reader and then makes flirty nsfw jokes with every other adult man in the vicinity. every fanfic is platonic and almost all of them both irl and in game write him as sixteen. they take place in the past or, more commonly, they just straight up age him down. hell, sometimes they even age him down to like eight. even in fics where he IS an adult, he gets called a child or a teenager but never an adult.
poppytwt, like the stigma against writing for the creators or their characters, lives on. and even outside of benchtrio, again, ships between other characters that are problematic are poppytwt, so that also is still clinging on for dear life in some corners of the web. most poppytwt posts that are tagged as such usually include b//chtr/o, but not all of them; and it's worth noting many creators avoid tagging at all even if it's just the poppytwt tag, because they don't want to get swarmed.
because I ship myself with my husband of course, and also make fictional content with our sources as an extension of that (think dungeons and dragons but the character is just you...or, actually, SMPs are a great example of this since the appearance/name is generally the same, so think like an SMP!!!!!) I am poppytwt. I will always be poppytwt to most people who don't like poppytwt. and I have friends who are poppytwt and I like art made by people under poppytwt. I don't need to ship incest to be a part of that, i just need to not think the people who do aren't doing anything harmful when they ship that, and to write/draw....well, anything about septicinnit, which i do all the time.
if someone has poppytwt dni in their bio, i can't interact. if someone has proship dni in their bio, i can't interact. it doesn't matter if what they really mean is "people who like abusive ships because that triggers me", I still can't interact.
Because i think we SHOULD be tagging our content exactly so that we can filter it and find what we personally enjoy (and avoid what we dont), the concept of a DNI is technically something i'm kinda for- it is a way of monitoring and controlling your experience- but it also can be used as an excuse to harass people who forgot to read it, and i have no way of knowing if that's the case in advance.
ADITTIONALLY, because I know and care about people who consume dark fiction, I also don't want to be around people who think that makes them a bad person, regaurdless of wether or not they think i can stay. and "proship dni" is about proship, that fiction isn't reality philosophy- they are saying right out of the gate that they think it DOES make them a bad person. and I don't agree with that. it frustrates me and it makes me upset. those DNIs are based in a place of disgust and hatred for the people I care about, because of content that isn't real, and i'm never going to feel super okay with that...
there's people who don't understand what it means and use it anyway when it's really just about the content; but again, how am i supposed to know which is which?? ESPECIALLY on twitter, the anti philosophy is extremely popular and relevant and yes, trendy. people believe it, HARD, and so i can't assume they don't when they say they do. I've met real flesh and blood people in person who think that way, so if you are using these words, i'm assuming you know what they mean- that way I don't run the risk of making an actual anti upset and violating their boundaries.
you don't have to agree with me on this- if you're anti, then that's your worldview and i'm not going to change that. but that's what those words mean, the history of the block game side of things, and how they're correlated to censorship.
To Summarize:
Anti : Fiction Equals Reality so Fictional Crimes are Real Crimes (ergo we should censor them to stop the crimes)
Proship: Fiction does NOT Equal Reality so Fictional Crimes are Harmless (on their own)
Anti-Anti: Not sure if Fictional Crimes are Harmless, but Don't Like that Antis think Proshippers are The Exact Same Level as IRL Criminals
Poppytwt/ppytwt: Problematic silly block game stuff, OR things that have to do with these three specific block people being hot/dating someone. Sometimes both.

Removing a Block.
From NSSS, to be specific.
Previously, most of the delays and pauses in NSSS's development were caused by other responsibilities - college, work, health, etc.
However, while these things are still contributing somewhat to NSSS's slow development pace, there is a new (and pernicious) factor that has been preventing me from so much as opening eclipse to work on the game.
Writer's block.
For the longest time I didn't even know why I had it, or even that I had it. I would keep opening eclipse, loading up some class file that I knew needed tweaking, and just... stare. I knew, essentially, what I needed to do. I knew how I would do it. But, for some reason, I just didn't do it. After a while I couldn't even get to the point of opening eclipse anymore. I attributed this to general busy-ness - I volunteer a lot of man-hours to a computer history museum, and this eats up quite a bit of my free time.
But then, when I took breaks from the volunteer work, and had all the time I needed to dig in to NSSS, I still just... couldn't.
What made this most frustrating was that NSSS still constantly occupied my thoughts - what I'd change, what I'd add, how this should look, how that should sound, how the launcher should work, what will be in the update after the update after next - all the time. My head was constantly bursting with ideas, but I just couldn't find the motivation to actually make them materialize.
Maybe it was because 1.1.12 was in feature freeze, and I was still banging my head against the cloud logic... but that didn't explain nearly enough.
Anyways, a user who had been playing NSSS since it was barely even 6 months old had reached out to me several months ago about possibly making some original music for the game. We chatted a bit about the general feel/tone/instrumentation said music should have, and then parted ways. This was about 10 months ago.
Well, last week they shot me a DM with one of the tracks they had been working on. NSSS was at the very bottom of my mind that day, but I decided to listen to it anyways.
The song was perfect. It was melancholy, soothing, and exciting, it sounded just like "minecraft alpha", it felt familiar and yet brand new, and it was exactly what I felt NSSS should have. And, as I wrote out my full thoughts to them as feedback (I'll spare you the full 10 paragraphs I wrote), it finally clicked for me why I wanted to make NSSS in the first place.
Previously, I always thought I had wanted to make NSSS because I wanted to fulfill my childhood fantasies, or to make a better minecraft than minecraft, or to polish the game as it was in 2010 and move it in a different direction.
But these are all closer to whats than whys.
Imagine returning to your family home and walking into your room and seeing it, not the way you left it, but exactly as it was when you were in elementary school, and there are toys strewn about the floor that you didn't even remember you had until that instant when you saw them again, and everything that was going through your mind, every tiny short-term memory that was in your head that day - what you ate for lunch, what you had to do at school the next day, what time Spongebob was gonna be on - are all just dumped right into the front of your conscious mind as if they'd never left.
But you're an adult. You're a different person. You can look at these things with a different perspective, see things that kid you never possibly could have. And that's never happened before. Like you've been handed a key to your own memories and told "go wild."
The past has been made brand new again. These aren't just dusty old memories that bounce around in your head, slowly getting distorted and thinned out over time. It's the very context that made those memories in the first place, and you're free to keep going from there, knowing what you know now, being the person that you are now.
This, above everything else, is what I have always wanted from NSSS. It's the mentality that has driven me to be so interested in history, period - it's why I volunteer at the museum, it's why I spent nearly a decade of my life archiving media from a certain other block game, and it's why I insist on using antiquated, obsolete tech for what it was intended for, rather than just letting it sit on a shelf looking pretty. I want to make the past brand new again.
After all, 'the past' is just a funny name we use to refer to the parts of the present that have already happened. There's no reason why it can't happen all over again.
To some extent, this is not an uncommon view - the term 'Nostalgia' exists for a reason. But 'Nostalgia', in my opinion, has the connotation of a biased, selective view of the past. It cherry-picks bits and pieces, either because they were remembered more positively, or because they are cheaper or easier to reproduce. A P.T. Cruiser may have 'vintage-y' styling, but it does not make the past brand new - it's too distorted and half-assed.
A few weeks ago I was hanging out with some friends when someone pointed out that Good Burger had gotten a sequel. I had never seen the original before, so we all watched it. Despite having never seen the film, everything about it - the set design, the acting, the fashion, the soundtrack - were extremely familiar to me, as though I had seen it a hundred thousand times before, but it was still brand new to me. And I enjoyed it! It was a goofy, somewhat contrived 90's movie with an only-somewhat-leaky plot and memorable characters.
Then, immediately after, we watched Good Burger 2 and I felt almost nothing. Part of that was because I frankly thought the film kinda sucked - the lessons Dexter learnt in the first film having been ultimately forgotten served to detract from his original character arc, for one - but the original movie was no paragon of writing either, so why did it get such a free pass from me?
Good Burger, despite my never having seen it before, managed to still seem familiar to me because, as a movie made in 1997, it had all the key qualities to slot right in as a movie I plausibly could have watched hundreds of times as a child. Good Burger 2, though clearly intended to capitalize on the 'nostalgia' that other people my age would have had for the original, completely missed the ball in that regard. It was no longer familiar, and thus, every other flaw in the writing, plot, etc. no longer got a free pass from me. It was no longer a 1997 movie with a 1997 movie's plot, it was a 2022 movie with half of a 1997 movie's plot and half of a 2022 movie's plot - it was half-assed. It, like a P.T. Cruiser, couldn't decide whether to be from the past or from the present and ended up in a weird, uncanny worst-of-both-worlds.
I've always been keen to be true to the historical context of whatever historic artifact I'm using - whether it be a typewriter, SGI workstation, palm pilot, or, in NSSS's case, an indie game from 2010 written in Java. It's why I develop NSSS using period tools and constraints - I use an old version of eclipse, maintain strict compliance with Java 5 (which came out in 2004), optimize the game for hardware that is now 20+ years old, built the entire website in .jsp, modeled the wiki after minepedia as it was in September of 2010, etc.
Because I'm not just doing this all to nostalgia-trip, I'm doing this to drag the past back into the present for us all to experience again. It's not going to be exactly as it was in 2010 - I do still want NSSS to be its own thing beyond just minecraft alpha 1.1.2_01 with bugfixes and QoL improvements - but it will be both familiar and new. It will have been made exactly as it would (and could) have been made back in 2010. And you can sit down and play it, and feel just as you did 14 years ago, not just in that you're playing the game as it was back then, but that you're playing a new game just as it was new back then.
As I put it in the discord server last year:
"I want to see someone who first played minecraft 13 years ago, back when they were young and wide-eyed and had never seen a game like it before, someone who got addicted and spent a solid week doing nothing but eat sleep & play, someone who almost pissed themself with fear the first time they got eviscerated by a creeper, someone who woke up their parents in the middle of the night shouting with glee when they found their first diamond, someone who fell in love with the game as it was then and stuck with it as it grew with them, changing and evolving and morphing just as they did, through beta and release and their highschool graduation and their first car and the combat update and the nether update and their first apartment when they finally let minecraft sit dormant on their PC for over a year, when they just lost the last remnants of the spark they had, and they don't even care enough to know why they fell out of love -
I want that person to play NSSS, shake off the cobwebs in their brain as they try to pull out the memories that have become faded and warped with time, just enough that they've forgotten just what this game did to them when they were younger, just enough that they expect the same old experience that they've grown more and more unenthused about over the years -
And I want them to get eviscerated by a creeper for the first time in 8 years and fucking shit their pants."

some thoughts ive been having about death as a game function and how death exists in mcrp (specifically the traffic series):
i find in minecraft-storytelling, something i’ve taken to incorporating is the concept of player death (or, for simplicity’s sake, we'll just use Death) as more than a gameplay mechanism, but a tangible part of the game and something uniquely personified by the game’s structure.
in classic minecraft, Death is your only obstacle. all of the game’s antagonistic pressure points in this direction—starvation, death, fall damage, mobs—but you can never beat Death. you can’t ever not die. you can evade if, you can ward yourself against it, you can conquer the game, but every minute you spend in a game of minecraft, regardless of the difficulty, environment, server, playstyle… etc is running from Death.
and i think Death isn’t explicitly an antagonist, like an achievement, because you can’t ever really best Death. you can slay ever mob boss, you can get totems, you can have the most stacked armour… but you can still die. in normal, this death can cost you valuable time, items, accomplishments, and can set you back hours in whatever progress you’re trying to make (dying puts you back where you started, a punishment) Death is an antagonistic force, but not The antagonist. Death is opposition in your game. Death is every obstacle you face while trying to survive. Everything in the game that serves to stand in your way all bring you to Death, and your task as the player is to avoid/overcome their attempts.
however…in hardcore/ limited lifestyle servers (now we can enter the Traffic series into this discussion), Death is merciless. While in normal SMPs and single player Death is only an obstacle, in hardcore/set life servers it serves a punishing narrative element as well. there’s that sprinkle of realism (the idea of permadeath, which makes Death much more dangerous to the player) and the fact that Death is truly inescapable. You can die over and over in a normal world (on a casual SMP with your friends, or a server like Hermitcraft) and recover whatever you’ve lost: the punishment is inconvenience. but in hardcore/the Traffic series? Death is inevitable. the only thing between the player and Death is their actions, counting down. Death is the enemy of players, and Death always wins in the end.
and i think that concept, of Death as a narrative inevitability, is what makes the Traffic series game play so intense to watch. you know it’s coming. and each player death means something different. green death? could be an accident. the world operating as it does. clumsiness, or naiveté. yellow death? better watch out, you’re no longer safe. if you weren’t taking it seriously, then you better start now. a red death? now there’s desperation. the end of the thread. every mistake ever made stares you back in the face, and Death finally takes what is rightfully hers.
continuing with the Traffic series, i also think there’s a beautiful poetic element to the way death messages in minecraft serve this ideology as well. it’s sort of hunger games-esque, when the canons blast and the tribute’s faces are blasted into the sky. it plays into the spectacle. while the players in the Traffic series don’t often use the chat to communicate long-distance (it’s a wonderful way to avoid too much character omnipotence), this doesn’t apply to death messages. everyone sees and reacts to death messages. isn’t that part of the thrill? the fear? realizing the people around you are just as fallible as you. that at the end of it all, everyone’s paths converge. they converge at Death. the game’s omniscient dialogue conveys who’s out for violence, who’s fighting who, betrayal and blood. i think the death message mechanic serves a practical (and sometimes comedic) effect in the game, but in the translation of minecraft The Sandbox Game to minecraft The Platform To Tell A Story, their symbolism fascinates me.
joined in that with the Traffic series is the coloured name system. i love this feature. it shows you at a glance the relationship each player has with Death. for ex: scar becoming a red-life so early on in 3L is a direct factor the menacing quality he takes on in other player’s perspectives. it adds an ounce of intensity to everything he says, does, or even moves towards. it becomes impossible to read him as anything other than bloodthirsty—it gives him an edge just as much as it isolates him. a red-life has so much to lose, and it makes their actions both cautious and desperate—leading to a reckless violence that infects everything they do from that point on.
additionally (and we’re leaving the Traffic series stratosphere for a moment), i think death in the context of greek mythology has always really, really fascinated me. there’s moving parts to this: the three fates, weaving every story’s demise before they can even start, predetermining the end before the beginning. it’s the classic grecian tragedy: the beginning and the end understand each other, and the audience is only there to watch the dominoes collapse into place. then, there’s psychopomps—the grim reapers, those who ferry the souls to the other side, where they await their boat ride to the halls of Hades and judgement. Thanatos (death itself) is the most common psychopomp, but across myths and translations they can be found in so many other gods, nymphs and immortal beings, animals, mythological creatures, and more. these are the spectators of all human life, those who carry the dead across the threshold and into nothingness, or into rebirth. it’s something deeply fascinating to me.
i haven’t played many other sandbox games to the extent that i’ve played minecraft: but as i’ve continued to learn about this game through playing it, watching others play, and really immersing myself in the possibility of minecraft as a storytelling vessel, everything feels a bit more intentional. and as a result the mechanism of death, or Death as a sentient, omnipotent force, is standing behind the player from the first day they spawn into a new world, vulnerable and soft-skinned, to the last time they ever log on, no matter how far the journey has taken them.
a quick side-note about creative mode: i’ve taken to wondering how creative mode applies to this model of Death and minecraft as a symbiotic pair. my first thought is immortality, which, you can still die in creative, but only through your own means or /kill properties, which crosses a contextual threshold i don’t want to get into. [the only mode where you are truly deathless is spectator mode, where you don’t really exist as a player, tethered to the game.] then, there’s the consideration of a player getting OP’d, which gives them the ability to kill other players without any of the established mechanisms of the greater world: using /kill doesn’t play fairly into this scenario either…
i suppose there’s a thread left unwound here with the relationship between creative mode and Death: this model was built around survival multiplayer servers and limited life-SMPs like Traffic SMP and DSMP, after all.
in my 3L fic a faint slash of tenderness, Death is a fate awaiting each player. she is not just a sentience, she is greedy, stealing fragments of each player when they pass her keep. this was used to understand the derailing morals of each player across each of their colour lives: by the time they have hit red, Death has taken enough of them to twist them from their true selves. but still in the end she waits to collect them all, each final death a body delivered to her great, unholy feast. toying with this imagery (when this concept of Death was still in its earliest stages) was unbelievably fun.
then, as this idea has grown on me, it’s truly blossomed in my ongoing work, the champion’s banquet, where the story begins and ends with Death seeking to claim what is rightfully hers (that right being the players lives). this fic is still writing itself, so i’ll keep the other 10k words i could write about this topic and the integration of Death into the DL story for after it’s been completed.
so yeah. those are just some of the more meta-analytical thoughts ive been having over the past few months, sort of the through-line between a few of my different works and more silent headcanons/interpretations of minecraft's death mechanic!! lies in concrete <3 if you have further elaborations on any of this i'd love to hear it :]

Hello!! I’m not sure if I am an mder, but I have been researching it and it seems to be me. I daydream a lot, often during school/class, and have always been called a daydreamer by my family and teachers. It hinders my class work as I don’t listen because of it and once I’m aware and pull myself (begrudgingly) out of it, I have to ask my friends for help. It annoys me when I get pulled out of my daydreams. I have reoccurring worlds and characters. I can name two off the top of my head that were recent that went on for a while. It was only in one ever that I was myself, as I am usually a character from my special interest in these daydreams (or at least seeing the world through their eyes and brain). But, I don’t pace or mumble to myself, though I don’t know if this is also because I’m semi verbal and always am during class, and I don’t pace because I have a lot of pain in my legs most days (and at home I usually play minecraft mindlessly and listen to music while daydreaming). Not all my daydreams are reoccurring, most of the time just random stuff, though there are a few that come back very frequently. I don’t want to get better, even though it makes me struggle with school and can make me unproductive (I’d rather daydream about my fic than write it, I’d rather daydream about the characters i love than have a shower, brush my teeth, etc.) because it makes me happier. Since I’ve been researching more and been more aware of it, I’ve been having a real struggle daydreaming. Whenever I try it feels lifeless and I can’t get stuck in it. I find it hard to daydream during the day because I’m constantly surrounding myself with stimuli like videos, games and podcasts. I don’t have class time to daydream since it is school holidays where I am. It’s been making me feel less and less happy. I’m going to try to just sit and listen to music tomorrow, and hopefully daydream because it’s been making me feel restless. But yeah, I saw that other people ask you questions and thought that this would be the best spot to ask for help for, since I’m having trouble figuring out if this is me or not.
The MDS-16 might be able to help you. This is a 16 item scale that measures for probable MD. Here's a link to a page where you can view the scale and read about how to score it (don't worry, it's easy). Just remember; this scale was meant for clinicians and can only be useful to give you an idea of where you might fall, it's not a self-diagnosis tool.
