Things with Lucky are better, but still not perfect. She can exist out and about with the other cats, but if they approach her she gets scared and hisses and starts a fight. Last night she was snoozing on top of the couch and Puter came up to sniff her and she flipped out on him. He immediately backed off, but she was big mad about it. The other two are totally fine and they just want to say hi to her and Hardy just wants to play, but Lucky still expects them to be nasty.

I figured maybe if I put collars on the cats with bells they can't sneak up on her and maybe that'll help, but I only had one so put it on Puter and the bastard walks so gracefully that he doesn't make noise 🙄

also as i edit and write–the hardest part of writing a romance is figuring out what it is that these two characters in this specific moment would gain from each other and be attracted to in one another. it's so easy to write romances of circumstance, that essentially exist to further the plot rather than feeling organic or as though they are a natural consequence of these two people finding each other.

i've started falling into the what you lack i will give, puzzle piece dynamic. not opposites attract so much as "i will shine a lot on everything you've got, and i will supplement all of the things you are missing until you find them for yourself"
