Song Inspiration: Every Little Thing is You by bae173

The moment you step foot into your apartment, you freeze. The dim lighting has you immediately confused and you glance around your living room to find every open space filled with lit candles. You didn't even own candles.
"Jacob?"
When he had asked for the keys to your apartment, you didn't think anything of it. You assumed he wanted a place to hang out or crash, and as his best friend, you always offered up your apartment. This, however, is the last thing you expected.
Jacob comes wandering down the hallway when he hears your voice. A bright smile rests on his face as he greets you and takes your jacket. The behavior paired with the candles suddenly has you on edge. What is he up to?
"Follow me." He takes your hand and pulls you toward the dining room table, where you find a mini home-cooked feast waiting for you. Jacob sweeps his arm over the food and says, "Ta-da!"
"Jacob…" you slowly say. "What is this?"
A nervous look crosses his features, but he tries to cover it with a smile. "It's a thank you."
As you try to take it all in, Jacob pulls out a chair for you and you slowly sink into it. "A thank you?"
Jacob nods while he sits in his own seat. He then stares at the food, pondering what he wants to say next.
"You've always been there for me. Ever since I started training and throughout my entire career as a musician. I know I told you once before, back when my career started, that I couldn't put all of my effort into a relationship. That I couldn't give you everything you deserved… Stubbornly, you said you'd wait for me until I was ready… This is my way of letting you know that I'm ready, and if it's my turn to wait for you… Then, I've got plenty of time."

The streets in Seoul were always busy. Never was there a day where the streets were empty. Especially at night time. The streets were filled with reckless drivers, drunkards, drug addicts, you name it. It keeps the police department on their toes with the amount of people being brought in every night.
As much as they enjoy arresting people who have behavioural issues or for other reasons, there are 2 individuals that they have been looking for a few months now: Lee y/n and Ji Changmin. They’re probably the most ruthless and dangerous criminals in the entirety of Seoul.
The one agent who is most involved in the case is agent Jacob Bae. He’s been involved in the case since the beginning, not catching a break until he finds the pair. Every time he gets so close to finding them, it goes back to square one, making him and other FBI agents so frustrated.
He was currently at his desk, looking through some paperwork. Sighs left his mouth every now and then, the clock ticking in the background. His once hot cup of coffee was now cold, sitting on his desk in front of him. There hasn’t been a murder for the past few days, and everyone is getting to a dead end with the case.
It was only Monday morning and Jacob was already done with the week. His fiancee has been rather distant lately, which he doesn’t even know why. He had an argument with his parents, saying that he’s too obsessed with the case and he should quit his job and do something else. They’ve never been supportive with his decisions, saying that he’s disobeyed their words, to which he had a go at them for.
He left his desk to get another cup of coffee, when he accidentally knocked into someone. “Shit, sorry”, he said, not bothering to see who he knocked into. “Hey, buddy, are you ok? No offence but, you look like shit”, the familiar voice said. Jacob turned around and saw Kevin, someone he hasn’t seen in years. Just seeing his face made his mood better, a smile reaching his face.
“Kevin? What are you doing here?”, Jacob said, and Kevin’s expression turned to realisation. “Oh my god, Jacob? You work here too?”, Kevin said, asking a really obvious question which Jacob rolled his eyes at. “No, I just like the coffee here”, he said, making the both of them chuckle.
They both went to the kitchen and caught up after not seeing each other for years. “So, how’s life been going for you then?”, Kevin asked as he poured himself a coffee. “Honestly? It’s been going downhill if I’m being honest. My wife has been distant, which I have no idea why, and I had an argument with my parents about this case that I’m on, saying I’m too obsessed. I’m kinda having financial issues too. I have bills to pay and I’m behind on the rent. I’m struggling, man”, Jacob said, Kevin giving him a sympathetic look.
Kevin and Jacob both met at school in Canada, immediately becoming best friends. They were inseparable, attached at the hip. That was until the both went to different universities, and they suddenly lost contact. Now both of them are here in Seoul, reunited after so many years, working for the FBI.
“So, how long have you been working here then?”, Jacob asked as he walked back to his desk, Kevin following behind. “Oh, I only started here yesterday”, Kevin said. Jacob sat at his desk, while Kevin went back to his. Suddenly, the director walked in, who goes by the name of Dongwook, making a ruckus, which usually means something had happened.
“There has been another murder”, he said, alerting the others. “The victim was 24 year old Lee Sangyeon, and his body was found mutilated on the side of the round. An L and a J was carved into his body, meaning this definitely was the work of Lee y/n and Ji Changmin. The murder weapon is still unknown, but by how deep the wound is, I’m going to say they were inflicted by a machete”, he said, pictures of them mutilated body showing up on the screen as he spoke.
Everyone was looking at the screen, some jotting down notes. Jacob and Kevin were standing next to each other now, no longer sitting at their desks. Kevin started feeling queasy, seeing the mutilated body on the screen, but he didn’t say anything about it.
“Hey, kid, how do you feel about starting your first case?”, Dongwook said to Kevin, pointing at him. A part of Kevin felt excited, but the other part of him was nervous. What happens if he accidentally screws up and gets someone killed? Or worse, accidentally gets himself killed? He tried putting the nervousness away, not wanting anyone to find out how he was really feeling.
While Jacob, Kevin and the rest of the team were dealing with the case, y/n and Changmin were laughing maniacally while they were speeding down a highway. They hijacked a car, not caring if they got blood all over the seat. They didn’t bother wiping the blood off their faces, just wanting to get away as soon as possible.
They both left the car behind an abandoned house, walking away from it. y/n’s boots were loud against the ground, skipping along as she laughed. Changmin watched her in admiration as he walked along the path, swinging the machete in his hand.
They both met in a bar a few months back, about a month before the murders started. y/n was sitting on a stool, drinking on a strong liquor. She had splashes of blood on her face, as well as blood covering her clothes. The people around her were not taking any notice as they were either too drunk to care or they just didn’t think too much of it. Changmin took a seat beside her, ordering himself a drink and striking up a conversation. They spoke as if they had known each other for years.
An hour before y/n arrived at the bar, she was having an argument with her boyfriend. Something about her not taking her medication. She said she feels fine without her medication, not feeling like a zombie all the time. Her boyfriend disagreed, saying he preferred her feeling like a zombie and in control of her emotions instead of her going off on one. That made her really pissed, her anger starting to take over her as her boyfriend continued spurting out nonsense.
Her eyes trailed onto a knife on the kitchen counter, feeling a murderous rage bubbling up inside of her. The words that left her boyfriend's mouth made her lose all control of her emotions, “I can’t do this anymore. You’re messed up in the head and I can’t handle it”. y/n didn’t think as she grabbed the knife as she stabbed him in the shoulder, making him cry out of pain. She continued stabbing him, his body falling to the floor as she got on top of him, blood spurting onto her face. His screams abruptly stopped as his body laid on the floor, blood surrounding him.
y/n stood up off her boyfriend’s dead body as she dropped the knife, smiling sadistically. She finally felt free. She didn’t bother cleaning herself up as she left the house. And that’s where she ended up inside the bar. She was drinking strong liquor out of her glass while looking at Changmin. She noticed a menacing look on his face, the corner of his mouth slightly upturned into a small smirk. The look he gave was cold, but y/n liked that.. He also had blood on him, but not as much as y/n.
Before he arrived at the bar, he was at his parents house. His parents thought he was going there to have dinner with them, but the dark truth was: he hated his parents, so he wanted- no needed- to kill them. They kept bombarding him, telling him what to do. He found it frustrating that he couldn’t have a single day where he wasn’t bombarded with stupid questions. The final straw was when his father turned up at his house without telling him, barging into his home like he lived there. He complained about the area Changmin was living in, and nitpicking at certain parts in the house. Changmin was annoyed at his behaviour, he couldn’t handle it.
Changmin stood in the kitchen, looking at his parents who were now tied to a chair. They struggled against the restraints, crying out in pain. Changmin smirked at them as he twirled his gun in his hand. He stalked towards his mother slowly, seeing the fear in her eyes. Tears rolled down her face as Changmin aimed the gun at her head, about to pull the trigger, until his father screamed. “STOP! Why are you doing this? You’re not our son, you’re a fucking psychopath”, his father yelled, a hint of fear in his voice. Changmin chuckled darkly as he put the gun down and turned to his father.
“Oh father, you’re the reason why I’m like this. If only you kept your fucking distance and didn’t bombard me, I wouldn’t need to do this”, Changmin said, looking his father in the eye. He smiled as he aimed the gun at his head, and he pulled the trigger. His mother screamed as blood and brain matter splattered everywhere, including on her face. She whimpered uncontrollably as she watched Changmin’s next movements carefully.
“Changmin, please don’t. You don’t have to do this”, she cried, pain evident in her voice. Changmin sighed as he put the gun down, holding it at his side. “You’re right, I don’t have to do this”, he said as his mother let out a sigh of relief, thinking she was safe, until-
BANG
“I need to do this”, Changmin said as he blew his mother’s head off. He dropped the gun and left the kitchen, heading towards the front door. He opened it and left, closing the door behind him. And that’s where he ended up inside the bar, and where he met y/n.
Back to the present. y/n and Changmin were walking along a pavement, houses coming into view. Changmin hid his machete behind him, putting it under his shirt. Changmin saw a car parked in front of a house, meaning the house is occupied. y/n noticed where Changmin was looking and an idea popped into her head. She looked at Changmin and gave him a look, a look which only Changmin knows. They walked towards the house slowly, getting ready to start their plan.
Changmin knocked on the door, waiting for it to open. They both pretended to be fearing for their lives, making sure to look believable for when the door opened. A middle aged man answered the door, seeing y/n and Changmin. He noticed blood on them and looked mortified, but he let them in. When he turned around, he didn’t see the smirk on their faces.
Changmin closed the door behind them and followed the man further into the house. They saw a woman standing at a table in a kitchen, who they assumed was the middle aged man’s wife. She turned around and saw the two, and she smiled a little before waving at them. They waved back and smiled back, and continued to follow the man.
They followed the man into a living room and when the man’s back was turned, Changmin whacked him over the head, knocking him unconscious. The sound of the man’s body dropping to the floor alerted his wife, making her run into the living room. She saw her husband’s body on the floor, unconscious. She gasped and turned to run, but y/n was quicker as she grabbed the woman by her hair, shoving her head into the wall a couple of times, knocking her unconscious.
-------------------------------
When the couple came to, they found themselves tied to a chair with their hands tied to it, along with their ankles. They both struggled against the restraints, until the sound of footsteps was heard. They looked up and saw Changmin walking towards them, holding something behind his back. “Oh, I see you’re both awake”, he said with a sick grin on his face, making a shudder go down the couple’s back.
Changmin kneeled down in front of the woman and just smiled up at her. The fear in her eyes made him laugh as he placed a hand on her knee, making her squirm. “This will take less time if you stop fucking squirming”, his once nice demeanour was replaced with a nasty one, gripping her knee, digging his nails into the skin. She cried out, her husband beside her letting out a cry of frustration. “YAH! STOP! You can hurt me but please, leave my wife alone”, he said, tears streaming down his face. Changmin stopped what he was doing and looked over at the man.
“How cute, you’re so protective over your wife”, Changmin said as he knelt in front of the man. “You see, being protective of your loved ones can go 2 ways. One, you end up saving your loved ones without any trouble. Or 2-”, Changmin sooned stabbed a knife in the man’s knee, twisting it, making the man cry out in pain, “-you get hurt and get everyone killed”. Blood started pooling out of his knee as Changmin stuck the knife in deeper, making the man feel faint. His wife kept screaming bloody murder, which was starting to annoy Changmin.
“Shut up bitch, you’re hurting my brain”, he growled as he took the knife out of the man’s knee. The knife must have hit an artery as when Changmin took the knife out, blood started squirting everywhere, but not enough for it to kill him. The woman kept screaming, struggling against the restraints. Changmin got really annoyed and threw the knife, the knife flying past the screaming woman’s head and hitting the wall. “y/n! Are you finished?! This bitch is annoying me with her screaming”, Changmin yelled to y/n, who was in the kitchen. “Alright, alright, I’m coming”, y/n said casually as she entered the room, holding what looked like a syringe in both hands.
“W-what are they?!”, the woman asked, fear evident in her voice. y/n just chuckled. “Oh, don’t worry. You won’t feel a thing. Well, it might sting and you’ll feel a burning inside your body but it’ll be over before you know it”, she smiled at the woman like she isn’t about to murder her. y/n walked behind her and grabbed her hair, moving her head to the side. The woman struggled against her as y/n stuck the syringe in her neck, injecting the fluid into her neck. “What did you just inject into me?!”, the woman asked frantically, her body starting to feel weird. “Oh, just bleach. The other syringe I have here is actually heroin I found in the kitchen. Which one of you guys is a drug addict, hm? Drugs can kill you, you know?”, y/n said while getting the other syringe ready.
“You motherfucker! You literally just injected bleach into me and you’re talking about how drugs can kill you?! You’re fucking messed up”, the woman’s words started to slur towards the end, the effect of the bleach in her system starting to work. “Honey, I wouldn’t talk if I were you”, y/n said, Changmin looking at her do her thing. The man was still losing blood, as he sat there unconscious.
y/n grabbed the woman’s arm and stabbed the needle of the syringe in her arm, injecting the heroin into her veins. y/n stood back as she waited for the drugs to take effect with the bleach inside her body. “Yo, is he dead yet?”, she asked Changmin, looking at the man’s unconscious body. Changmin stood up and went to get the knife he threw. He picked it up and went towards the man, and grabbed his hair and sliced his throat open. Blood gushed out, the man gasped for air. His body soon went limp. “He’s dead now”, Changmin said.
They’re not sure how long has passed, but the woman started frothing at the mouth, her body starting to shake. Changmin and y/n looked at both of the bodies in front of them, smirking to themselves. They waited for what felt like hours but it was only around 15 minutes until they decided to leave. Suddenly, as they were about to head towards the front door, they heard a noise coming from outside, and a car door slamming shut. The two ran out of the house, opting for the back door so they could leave unnoticed. They managed to escape before people stormed inside the house.
While Changmin and y/n ran off somewhere far from the house, the FBI agents stormed inside with guns. They had gotten a call by a neighbour saying they heard screaming coming inside the house, and they got there immediately after the call. Kevin and Jacob were together as they moved further into the house. They went into the living room and saw the two dead bodies. “We have 2 dead bodies over here”, Jacob said, alerting the others as they came storming into the living room.
Dongwook stared at the bodies while one of the team checked them. “They’re still warm sir. They’ve been dead for at least 10 minutes”, they said, looking at Dongwook. “Shit”, he muttered under his breath. While Dongwook paced around, the dead couple was placed into body bags to be taken away. “Fuck!”, Dongwook suddenly shouted, making others around him jump out of fright. He wasn’t the one to shout so whenever he does shout, it scares people around him. “They can’t be far”, he said to no one in particular.
As Jacob stood up, he suddenly felt dizzy. He stumbled into Kevin, catching his attention, as well as others. “You alright there?”, Dongwook asked Jacob, walking over to him. “Just felt a bit dizzy, that’s all. I haven’t been sleeping well the past few nights”, Jacob said, which is the truth. As Kevin stood next to Jacob, he could easily see how pale Jacob suddenly went.
“Ok, I think it’s best if you go home and get some reason. You can come back to work tomorrow if you’re feeling better, ok? And that’s an order”, Dongwook said sternly, looking straight at the younger.
Jacob left the house with one member of his team, following them to a car as they both left the scene.
-------------------------------
Jacob got dropped off in front of his house after he picked up his stuff from the FBI headquarters. His team member drove off back to the crime scene where they were previously. He got his keys out of his bag to open the front door but, as he went to unlock it, he noticed it was already unlocked. He furrowed his eyebrows as he opened it, going inside. Everywhere was dark apart from a glimmer of light coming from the end of the hall. He put his keys in the bowl on the table and put his bags down. Everything was quiet as he walked further into the house but, as he got closer to the light, the noises he heard made him feel disgusted.
He stormed into the room, seeing his wife Lisa straddling a strange man. “What the fuck!?”, Jacob yelled, startling the both of them. “J-jacob? You’re not supposed to be home until later”, Lisa said, not even bothering to move off the man. “You’re literally sucking someone’s face off, and you’re more bothered about me being home early?! We’ve only been married for, what, nearly 3 years? And you’re already tired of me”, Jacob said, feeling angry, hurt and betrayed.
“Jacob, you’re obsessed with a case and you haven’t had any time for me. I felt lonely”, she said, earning a scoff from Jacob. “You felt lonely? So instead of telling me, you opted for cheating? Wow, how pathetic. You know what? I can’t deal with this anymore. I’m tired and you betrayed me. You remember our vows? ‘Til death do us part’? Well, that was a lie, wasn’t it?”, Jacob said rather calmly, which frightened the two on the couch.
Jacob took off his wedding ring and placed it on the table in front of him. “I want you out. Now”, he said, his voice an octave deeper. His wife -soon to be ex wife- got off the man and pulled him up, leaving the room. “Don’t even bother grabbing your stuff, I don’t want you in my house anymore. You can collect your stuff tomorrow”, Jacob said, hearing the door close after he said that.
Now that he was alone, his tears flowed down his cheeks as he let out sobs of anger, hurt, betrayal and pain. He fell to the floor, the tiredness finally getting to him from the lack of sleep. He felt the material of the carpet underneath him, leaning back against the couch. A mixture of sickness, tiredness and pain came over him, making him feel as if he was going to throw up. He got up and ran to the bathroom, making it in time before throwing up in the toilet.
After he finished vomiting, he flushed the toilet and proceeded to brush his teeth. He walked out of the bathroom and into his bedroom, now standing in the middle of the room. He stared at the pictures around the room: polaroids of him and Lisa from when they were 18, pictures from their wedding day. She was the love of his life and now, she’s out of his life, all because of a case he’s ‘obsessed’ with. A surge of anger came over him, ripping the pictures off the wall, tearing them up and hot tears of anger streamed down his face. Photo frames thrown off the walls, shards of glass going everywhere from each broken frame.
Clothes were thrown everywhere, covering the floor. Blood dripped from his hands due to shards of glass grazing the skin. He had the sudden urge to scream, so that’s what he did: he let out a heart wrenching scream, falling to his knees as he let all his emotions out. After he was done screaming, he got up and went out the room, going down the stairs. He went into the kitchen and grabbed some bin bags and went back upstairs, and proceeded to throw the clothes in bin bags.
All of Lisa’s belongings were now in bin bags, being thrown outside the front door as Jacob slammed the door when he was finished. He then ran back upstairs and into his bedroom, and threw himself onto his bed, where he stayed for the rest of the day, falling into a deep sleep.
-------------------------------
The next morning, Kevin was on his way to work, walking with a spring in his step. The sky was cloudy, grey clouds forming above him. He suddenly felt like he was being watched as he walked into a dark alleyway, a shortcut to the headquarters. He soon regretted taking the shortcut as he saw two figures a couple of feet in front of him, Kevin noticing what looked like a machete in one of the figures hands.
Kevin turned around, hoping to get away from them. He began to run out of the alleyway but, unfortunately, he wasn’t quick enough as he felt someone grab him from behind. A bag was thrown over his head as he thrashed around, trying to get away, but nothing worked.
The next thing Kevin knew, he was being thrown into the back of, what he assumed was, a van. The vehicle suddenly drove away, making Kevin move all over the place. It was going quite quickly, Kevin was worried they were going to crash. “Yah, first of all, slow down, you’re going to crash. Second of all, let me go!” Kevin yelled. He kept yelling, which ended up being muffled due to the bag over his head.
“Shut up pig, you’re annoying me”,  a male voice said. Kevin just did as he was told as he didn’t want to make them more angry, so he just laid there.
-------------------------------
Kevin felt himself being thrown onto a cold floor, his arms tied behind his back. He tried crawling away but he felt someone grab his ankles, dragging him across the floor as he let out a yell. He felt himself be lifted up and placed onto a chair, his arms being untied and placed behind the chair, being tied again. His ankles were tied to the legs of the chair, making him unable to thrash around.
The bag that was on his head was soon thrown off of him, the bright light hitting his eyes. He squinted, adjusting to the light around him. “Hello there, sunshine”, the girl said in front of him, smiling. Kevin looked really confused, wondering where he was and who the 2 people were in front of him, though he did have a good idea who they were but he wasn’t sure.
“Oh, let me introduce myself. I’m Lee y/n and the guy over there is Ji Changmin”, she said, smirking at Kevin as his face showed a frightened expression. “H-how did you find me?”, Kevin stuttered, worried for his life. “Oh, you don’t need to know that. Just be a good boy and we won’t kill you”, y/n said as Kevin sighed, “yet”, y/n added on, which scared Kevin.
“Changmin”, y/n called Changmin, which made him look at her. “You can do your…. thing now”, which made Changmin grin evilly, now standing in front of Kevin. The machete that he was holding before was now replaced with a baseball bat, which had blood splatters on it. “What are you doing?”, Kevin asked again, now feeling terrified. He tried not to be, but he’s never been in a position like this before, and he’s still new to the whole FBI thing, so he has no idea how to act in this type of situation.
Changmin raised the baseball bat above his head, and hit Kevin over the head, making him yell out of pain. He continued hitting him, blood dripping down the side of his head. “Ok Changmin, that’s enough”, y/n said, Changmin dropping the baseball bat as it hit the floor with a thud.
“What do you want from me?”, Kevin asked, annoyance starting to bubble up inside him. “I want you to call your boss and tell him to stop looking for us, ok? That way, no one else will get hurt. Well, I won’t hurt the people you love”, y/n said, holding a knife to Kevin’s throat, digging the blade into the skin, a little bit of blood trickling down.
“Why would I do that? You’d still end up murdering more people”, Kevin said, which y/n didn’t like and she punched him in the face with such force, the chair fell backwards. y/n crouched down and grabbed Kevin by the hair, pulling his head up to force him to look at her. “You better do as I say, sunshine, otherwise I’ll kill you, cutting you up limb by limb. You don’t want that to happen, do you? I don’t want to kill such a pretty boy” y/n pouted, earning a scoff from Changmin.
“Ok that’s enough talking. Where’s your phone, pretty boy?”, Changmin asked, searching through his pockets. He found his phone and took it out of his pocket, turning it on. y/n untied Kevin’s arms and held him down, ensuring he doesn’t do anything to escape.
“Don’t do anything stupid, pretty boy, cause you’ll regret it”, Changmin said as he handed Kevin his phone. Kevin’s hands shook as he dialled his boss’ number, putting the phone up to his ear. One ring. Two rings. Three rings. After the third ring, he heard a voice.
“Kevin?!? Where the fuck are you?”, Dongwook asked, his voice filled with anger and worry. What Kevin didn’t know was that, on the other end of the phone, Dongwook was silently asking his team members to track his phone. “Don’t worry about me boss, I’m fine”, he mentally punched himself as his voice wavered. “Just… stop looking for y/n and Changmin”, Kevin started shaking as he felt 2 pairs of eyes on him the entire time, a knife on his throat.
“What are you talking about? We can’t just stop looking for them Kevin, we need to find them so more people don’t get killed”, Dongwook sounded irritated by the request from Kevin, but also worried since he knows Kevin wouldn’t be saying that on his own back. “If we carry on looking for them, then I’ll be killed next”, Kevin said without thinking, and he soon hung up after that. He dropped his phone and the knife on his throat was no longer there.
“Good boy”, y/n said as she patted his cheek, making Kevin flinch. “Don’t touch me”, he spat and narrowed his eyes. Changmin didn’t like the way Kevin spoke to y/n so he grabbed Kevin by the hair, pulling him, earning a scream from him. The sound of the chair scraping along the floor could be heard throughout the room. Changmin soon grabbed his knife and stabbed Kevin in the leg over and over, Kevin screaming for him to stop. Blood trickled out of his leg, making him feel faint. He soon passed out after a few minutes, the last thing he heard was a door closing.
-------------------------------
The sound of Jacob’s phone ringing woke him up, startling him. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, searching for his phone which was still in his pocket. He looked at the clock near his bed, the clock reading 2pm. “Hello?”, his voice sounded hoarse as he answered the call.
“Jacob! I know you’re off for a bit but, this is an emergency. It’s Kevin. y/n and Changmin have him and he’s in trouble”, Dongwook’s words made Jacob’s eyes go wide and he got out of bed in an instant. “I’ll text you the location and we’ll meet you there”, Dongwook said as he hung up. Not even a few minutes later, Jacob received a text message with the location.
Jacob ran down the stairs and grabbed his keys, along with his guns, before leaving the house, locking the door behind him. He ran to his car, unlocking it and got in, starting the car immediately before driving off towards the location he was given.
Not even 10 minutes later, he was finally at the location, which looked like an abandoned warehouse. Jacob seemed to be the first one there as he got out of his car, slamming the door shut and locked it, before running inside the warehouse.
He opened the door, aiming his gun in front of him, and went inside. He saw something lying in the middle of the warehouse, which looked like a body. He immediately knew who it was and started running towards it. “Kevin!”, he shouted, hoping he was conscious. But as he was about to reach him, a voice stopped him.
“Well, well, well. Look who decided to show up”, a male voice said, which Jacob knew who it was. Jacob aimed his gun at Changmin, which made Changmin put his arms up with a smile. “If you’re going to shoot me, just do it already. Or are you a coward?”, Changmin said with a smirk, the sound of laughter being heard afterwards. “Oh, we definitely know he’s a coward, Changmin. Just look at him”, y/n said, now standing behind Jacob.
Suddenly, the sound of cars were heard outside, doors slamming as more people ran inside. Dongwook was the first to run inside, his gun in front of him. “Jacob! Go grab Kevin, we’ll deal with Changmin and y/n”, Dongwook said, nodding at Jacob. Before Jacob ran over to Kevin, he shot his gun, hitting Changmin in the leg. Changmin fell to the floor with a yell as Jacob ran over towards Kevin.
When he reached Kevin, he noticed blood on his leg and his head, which alerted him. “Someone help me!” Jacob yelled, one of his team members running over a few seconds later. “What happened to you?”, his team member said as they looked at his hands, which were covered in dried up blood. “I’m fine, don’t worry about it”, Jacob replied as the both of them lifted Kevin up, his arms wrapped around their necks before moving him.
“You two get Kevin out of here, we’ll deal with these two”, Dongwook shouted as they went towards the exit. As they reached the outside, they saw an ambulance pull up, and they headed for it. Two paramedics got out of the ambulance and carried Kevin to the stretcher, putting him in the back of the ambulance.
Without hesitation, Jacob ran back into the warehouse, his gun in his hand. The sound of gunshots rang in his ears as he saw his team members and Dongwook tackling Changmin, but no sign of y/n. He looked around, trying to find her. He let his guard down for just a moment but that gave y/n time to come up behind him and tackle him to the ground. His gun slid out of reach, y/n pinning him to the ground.
“Make sure to always watch your back cause you never know what’s lurking behind you”, y/n said smirking before striking a punch, hitting Jacob right in the nose. Jacob saw that y/n was holding a knife so he grabbed both of her wrists before she could strike, gripping her wrists tightly.
“I bet you like being in positions like this”, y/n said with a smirk, earning a scoff from Jacob. He gripped both of her wrists in one hand and flipped the both of them over, grabbing her knife and throwing it across the floor. The sound of police sirens were heard and shouting. “It’s over, bitch”, Jacob said, who was now the one smirking as y/n let out a snarl. Jacob got up, still holding y/n with a tight grip.
Police officers ran inside the warehouse, running towards the two homicidal maniacs, handcuffing them both and taking them away. They locked them both in the back of the police van, driving away from the warehouse.
Jacob finally let out a sigh of relief, knowing that they have been caught after a good few months of trying to find them. Dongwook stood behind him, putting his hand on Jacob’s shoulder, patting it. “We’ve done it, kid”, Dongwook said, a smile on his face. “You head over to the hospital to check on Kevin”, Dongwook told him, pushing him forward lightly. Jacob didn’t need to be told twice as he ran towards the exit, going to his car.
-------------------------------
It’s been a couple of hours since Jacob got to the hospital, waiting for a nurse to update him on Kevin. He was sitting in the waiting room, anxiously moving his legs. Suddenly, a nurse walked into the waiting room and Jacob immediately stood up.
“Is he ok?”, Jacob asked, his voice cracking near the end. “He had a pretty good knock to the head, which I’m sure was caused by a baseball bat. But, we managed to stop the internal bleeding so, he’s going to be ok”, the nurse said, Jacob sighing out of relief. “He’s not awake yet, but you can go in and see him”, the nurse said and left the room.
Jacob went to the room that Kevin was in, and went inside. He saw Kevin lying on the hospital bed, his eyes closed. His head had a bandage on it, as well as his leg. Jacob sat down on the chair next to the bed, waiting for Kevin to wake up. A sudden wave of tiredness came over Jacob, so he closed his eyes for a moment, and ended up falling into a deep sleep.
About an hour later, Kevin woke up, squinting his eyes to adjust to the bright lights above him. He groaned out of pain, trying to sit up. The sound woke up Jacob, seeing Kevin now awake. “You’re awake, thank god”, Jacob said, earning a confused look from Kevin. “What do you remember?”Jacob asked.
“I remember walking to work and went through an alleyway. I was captured by two people, who I soon realised were Changmin and y/n. I ended up in an abandoned warehouse and got hit over the head with a baseball bat. They forced me to call Dongwook to stop looking for them. The next thing I knew, I saw being stabbed in the leg a few times, and then, I passed out”, Kevin answered, Jacob nodding along to everything he said.
Kevin’s eyes suddenly went wide after a few minutes of silence. “Did you manage to capture them?”, Kevin asked, earning a nod from Jacob. “Yup, they’re finally going to be locked up for the rest of their lives”, Jacob smiled as Kevin sighed out of relief.
The door suddenly opened and a nurse walked in. “We’ll need to keep you in for a few more days, Mr Moon, and then you’ll be able to leave. We just need to run a few more tests”, the nurse said and then bowed, before leaving the room, closing the door behind them.
Jacob looked back at Kevin and saw him smiling. “Why are you smiling?”, Jacob asked as Kevin chuckled. “I’ve never been called Mr. Moon before. I could get used to that”, Kevin said as Jacob rolled his eyes, letting out a laugh.
-------------------------------
A few days had passed, and Jacob was sitting on the couch, watching TV. He was watching the news, hoping to catch an update about Changmin and y/n. The reporter on the TV mentioned their names, which made Jacob put all of his focus on the screen in front of him.
The serial killers Lee y/n and Ji Changmin were finally caught a few days ago and are currently on trial. We’ll update you with the results soon
Jacob scrolled through his phone to pass the time while waiting for the results of the trial. He hopes that they get the punishment that they deserve for all the people they have murdered. A few minutes had passed and a live video of the trial was put on the screen. Jacob put his phone down and watched the trial.
“....and the punishment for all the people they have murdered has been confirmed. They will both get the death penalty by lethal injection”
Jacob was happy with the result, hoping the family of all the deceased victims will get justice. Changmin and y/n were taken away in shackles, leaving the room. The sound of Jacob’s phone ringing alerted him, making him grab it and answer the call. “Hello?”, he answered. “I assume you watched the trial?”, the sound of Dongwook’s voice was heard from the other end. “I did watch it. I’m glad they’re getting the punishment they deserve”, Jacob said. “I also got some more news,'' Dongwook said, which gained Jacob’s interest.
“A few hours before they get the death penalty, you have to talk to them”, were the words that made Jacob choke on his saliva. “Wait, why me? Like, yeah I understand that always happens before someone gets the death penalty but, why me?”, Jacob asked out of confusion, wondering why it needs to be him. “Because y/n requested it”, which Jacob scoffed at. “Ok then. Guess I’ll have to deal with the consequences after the interview”.
-------------------------------
It’s a few hours before their death penalty, and Jacob is waiting to talk to the both of them. He’s standing outside the room they are in, and he feels nervous. What’s going to happen once he goes inside the room? He’s going to find out soon as the door opens next to him. He’s given the signal that he’s allowed to go in the room, the door closing behind him once he’s inside.
Jacob sits down opposite the two, clasping his hands together on the table. “Hello there, sunshine. Nice to see you again”, y/n said with a grin, her hands chained to the table. “Quit the bullshit, y/n”, Jacob said, annoyed. Changmin rolled his eyes at the two, wanting this to be over.
“Why?”, was the first thing Jacob asked. “Why what?”Changmin replied. “Why did you do it? Why did you two kill those innocent people? They didn’t deserve what happened to them”, Jacob’s voice was full of anger, but he remained calm, not wanting to create a scene. “We did it because it’s fun”, y/n replied, showing no signs of remorse whatsoever.
“You think murdering innocent people is fun? How sick do you have to be to think that’s fun”, his face showed disgust and terror, anger bubbling up inside him. “Well, this all started when I murdered my boyfriend. I didn’t want to take my medication since it made me feel like a zombie most of the time, but my boyfriend thought differently. He said I was messed up in the head and wanted to break up with me, but my anger took over and I stabbed him numerous times”, y/n’s voice didn’t show any signs of emotion.
“And what about you Changmin, huh? How did this start for you?”Jacob was actually intrigued in listening to what he had to say. “My parents wouldn’t stop bombarding me. Kept telling me what to do, how to live my life. I couldn’t just live a normal fucking life like other people my age, I had to deal with my annoying, patronising parents. But, I did what I had to do. I took their lives from this world by blowing their heads off”, Changmin’s voice sounded hurt and full of anger. But that didn’t stop Jacob from being manipulated by them.
“So that’s your excuse, is it? Your anger took over you both so you turned to murdering people?”Jacob had enough with listening to what they had to say so he got up to leave the room. But before he reached the door, y/n said something.
“How’s Lisa, by the way?”
Jacob turned around and stared at her. “What did you just say?”, he asked, just standing there, frozen. “That’s the name of your wife, right? Well, she was your wife, anyway”, the both of them laughed as Jacob just stood there confused as ever. “How do you know I have a wife?”Jacob kept asking question after question.
“That’s what she said to us before I sliced her pretty throat, blood dripping down her as her body went limp in my arms”, Changmin said with a manic laugh. Jacob yelled at that, and he had to be taken out of the room. “Just hurry up with their death penalty please, I can’t anymore”, Jacob said as he walked off.
-------------------------------
Jacob was waiting in the room above, looking through the window to see y/n and Changmin being strapped to a chair, people getting ready with the lethal injection. They attached a needle to their arms, which had a tube attached to the machine which had the lethal injection in. Jacob noticed both of y/n and Changmin showed no signs of fear or regret, they were both… smiling?
After everything was ready, one of the workers gave a signal for the injection to go ahead. The person in the other room (who Jacob assumed was the person in charge) pressed a red button, which started the machine.
A blueish colour travelled through the tubes and into their arms, going straight into their veins. They both started gasping as it began to work, y/n coughing while Changmin tried thrashing around but it was no use since he was strapped down.
A few minutes later and they were both pronounced dead. Jacob couldn’t hide his smile as he left the room, walking down a corridor, heading towards a set of doors. He opened the doors, not looking back as he headed towards his car. He got in his car and put the key in the ignition, driving off immediately. He never felt so happy over a case being over.

jacob elordi and yn take a lie detector test | vanity fair
Tumblr media
MASTERLIST | MY PATREON | jacob insta blurb
"YN," the interviewer said, you and Jacob were sitting side by side with expectation shown in your faces, "Jacob."
"Hello," you said in unison, which made you look at each other and laugh.
"We're going to be taking a lie detector test today," the interviewer explained, "One of you will he hooked up to the machine while the other asks questions, and then you'll switch."
"Why are my palms sweating?" you said, making Jacob laugh and kiss the side of your head quickly.
"Who would you like to go first?" the interviewer asked again.
Jacob and you looked at each other for a few seconds before he winked at you and told the interviewer he would go first.
The video showed someone from the crew getting the machine ready and getting Jacob hooked to it.
"Do I look afraid?" Jacob asked, making you relax and laugh.
"You look fine, babe," you looked at the guy who was in charge of the machine, who give you the cue that you could start asking questions, "Okay, is your real name Jacob Elordi?"
"Yes," he answered.
"Were you born in Melborune, Australia?"
"No, I was born in Brisbane."
"Are you ready to take this lie detector test?" you asked, a smile playing on your face.
"I think so," he looked at you with a nervous smile and then looked at the camera.
"Okay, let's get started."
JACOB ELORDI TELLS THE TRUTH
"So, you were born in Australia. Do you like LA better?" you asked, reading the folder in front of you.
"Right now, yeah," Jacob answered, a small screen on the top left showing the lie detector machine working.
"Would you say you've adopted the LA lifestyle since moving here?"
"Yes,"
"Do you like going to yoga classes with me?" you raised your eyebrow, noticing a smile appearing on Jacob's face
"Absolutely." he answered confidently and you directed your raised eyebrow to the man behind the machine.
"He's telling the truth," the man said
"Were you doubting me?" Jacob said, an offended tone in his voice.
"Just confirming," you looked at the folder once again,"Do you consider yourself a heartthrob?"
"Yeah," he answered, but the look on his face said otherwise.
"A lie," the man said.
"I don't consider myself a heartthrob," he began, "but I mean I guess I kinda have to accept it."
"Yep, there you go," you said and a cheeky smile played on your face as you read the following question, "Have you ever felt jealous of any of my co stars?"
The room got quiet after the question, Jacob threw his head back and closed his eyes for a moment, and you couldn't help but laugh.
"Just answer the question!" you said and he shook his head.
"I wouldn't say that I'm a jealous person, specially not of your co stars because I'm an actor myself and I know how it works," he began, "I'm just protective, okay?"
"No reading, that was too close," the man behind the machine spoke, "It was a gray area, we could ask it again or we could just move on."
"Let's move on, he doesn't want to admit that he was jealous of Andrew Garfield on camera," you joked and Jacob couldn't help but laugh along, "Did you feel nervous during our first date?"
"Yes," his eyes widened at the memory, "I was about to piss my pants, actually."
"Truth,"
"Oh I already knew that," you shrugged with a cocky smile, "If I asked you to move to New York with me, would you do it?"
"Yeah, definitely," he smiled, "New York is the shit."
"Alright, babe, let's keep this interesting," you said with a grin. The lie detector machine still monitoring his responses, "Have you ever borrowed my clothes without asking?"
"Of course, guilty as charged," Jacob chuckled, "Your oversized sweaters are just too comfy to resist, love, and don't get me started on your purses,"
"This shouldn't have been a question, everyone knows the purses you use to go out are mine," you rolled your eyes with affection,"Okay last one from me,"
"Bring it,"
"Do you believe in love at first sight?"
You looked at Jacob curiously, and he took a moment before replying.
"Yeah, I do," he answered smoothly, "I mean when I met you, there was this instant connection, and I just knew there was something special about you."
"He's telling the truth," the lie detector confirmed, and you couldn't help but smile.
"Smooth answer, Elordi. Looks like we're on the same page about love at first sight," he smiled back at you, "Lord that was so cheesy, It's my turn! But, did at any point of this interview did you lie and we didn't catch you?"
"I mean, I don't know if you caught me," Jacob rested his chin on his hand.
"Did he lie?" you asked the man, both you and Jacob turning to look at him.
"He's not lying," He confirmed and Jacob gave you a smug smile
"I guess you passed the test."
YN TELLS THE TRUTH
You took your place in the hot seat while Jacob prepared to play the role of the interrogator, nerves kicking in as the crew hooked you up to the machine.
"Okay, YN," Jacob said, a smirk showing on his face, "Let's get started, shall we?"
You nodded and he sent you a wink.
"Is your favorite movie still 'The Notebook'?"
"Absolutely," you answered immediately and the machine confirmed your answer.
"Classic," he muttered, "Have you ever faked a compliment about my cooking?"
"Maybe once or twice, but it's only because I didn't want to hurt your feelings," you bit your lip, and Jacob gave you a surprised expression
"So, I've been living a lie?" he raised his eyebrow at you.
"No, no," you reassured him, "Your cooking skills have definitely improved over time."
"Truth," the man in charge of the lie detector said, and Jacob nodded in approval.
"Fair enough. Now, have you ever pretended to like a movie just because I wanted to watch it?"
"Guilty again," you covered your face in embarrassment,"But in my defense, no one wants to watch the Star Wars movies after a long day of filming."
"My feelings are definitely hurt," Jacob said and dramatically put a hand on his chest, "This test is making you look like a bad girlfriend, actually,"
"Come on now, give me more questions,"
"Alright, let's dig a little deeper," Jacob said with a smirk, "Have you ever considered stealing my phone to read my text messages?"
"Maybe once or twice," you said, "But only out of curiosity, not suspicion."
"Well, you know I'm wrapped around your finger so I would let you go through it anytime," he shrugged, "Do you think my Australian accent is sexier than your American one?"
"Oh, come on! That's not a fair question," you couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Just answer the question, love," Jacob teased.
"Fine, fine," you said, still laughing, "Yes, your Australian accent is undeniably sexy."
"Truth," the machine confirmed, and Jacob playfully raised an eyebrow looking satisfied.
"Do you regret any of the roles you've played?" he asked, and you took a deep breath before answering.
"No, all of the roles I've played have been very meaningful to me," you replied, and the man operating the machine machine looked at you with a raised eyebrow."
"She's lying," he simply said, and you shut your eyes hearing Jacob laugh.
"I guess you have some explaining to do," he chuckled, shooting a playful glare at you, "Come on, spill it."
"Okay, fine," you admitted, "There was this one project early in my career that I took for the paycheck, and looking back, I wish I had chosen something more aligned with my values. It's not a regret per se, but more of a lesson learned."
"Fair enough," Jacob nodded, moving to the next question, "Have you ever stalked fan accounts dedicated to me?"
"Maybe a casual scroll here and there," you admitted, trying to seem cool about it.
"Casual scroll, huh?" Jacob raised an eyebrow and peeked at the lie detector, "The machine doesn't seem convinced, right?" he asked the man.
"It's a lie," he confirmed ad Jacob burst into laughter.
"Caught red-handed, love. What's next? Have you ever used my toothbrush without telling me?" he teased, making you laugh
"No way! That's just gross," you protested
"You hesitated there. Are you sure?" Jacob raised an eyebrow again
The machine signaled the truth, and you sighed in relief.
"I was just grossed out by the thought. I promise I've never done that."
"It's not like we haven't kissed before," he teased and you rolled your eyes but smiled, "Okay last question.
"Hit me with it," you said, ready for whatever it would be.
"Have you ever thought about what our future holds? Like, where we'll be in 10 years?" he asked, his expression turning serious.
You took a moment to contemplate the question.
"Yes," you answered sincerely, "I think about it quite often. I imagine us still together, maybe with a family, still acting and pursuing our passions and of course supporting each other."
"Truth," the lie detector machine confirmed your words, and Jacob's serious expression softened into a warm smile.
"Well, looks like we're on the same page there once again," he said, "Did you lie at any time and we didn't catch you?"
"Nope, I was an open book, babe," you replied, sending a wink his way.
"Did she lie?" Jacob turned to the man behind the machine,
The man hesitated for a moment, building suspense, before finally saying, "She's telling the truth."
"Told you!"
The video ended with both of you laughing at each other, and it became one of Vanity Fair's most watched Lie Detector tests.

Pairing: Paul Lahote x Swan Sister Reader
Word Count: 4.0k
TW: Possessiveness
Tumblr media
You and your sister, Bella, had always gotten along well even being so different. She was the shy twin who always stood behind you. You on the other hand always fought Bella’s battles because she needed it, that’s what sisters were for. The two of you weren’t identical, and your personalities could not have been more different. Yet, at the end of the day, she was the person you knew would always understand you. She was your best friend and confidant. So, when she proposed moving back in with Charlie you followed along with her.
Things changed when the two of you moved to Forks and not in a way you liked. She began distancing herself from you after she met Edward. Instead of coming home and gossiping about your respective days she started going to the Cullen’s house. She stopped telling you things. She became protective and oh so secretive over her boyfriend. You confided in Charlie more than you could ever expect. You hung out with Jessica and Angela more than you would’ve ever dreamed. Still, you looked after your sister. She was the shy one who fell hard and fast. For whatever reason you just couldn’t seem to trust Edward. When she finally let the two of you meet he was just off and you couldn’t seem to pinpoint what it was.
It wasn't until the departure of Edward Cullen, leaving Bella desolate and shattered, that the mysterious shroud enveloping your lives began to unravel at a rapid pace. As Bella struggled to navigate through the abyss of heartbreak, you tried your hardest to be the strength that she needed. But it often felt like you were failing her. Like nothing you could say would offset any of the heartbreak she was feeling. And you were angry. Angry at the stupid family that decided to vanish without a trace. For even though Edward seemed off he seemed like he truly was deeply in love with your sister.
Your only saving grace was your old friend Jacob. He found a way to bring your shattered twin back to the surface of the water she was struggling to swim in. The three of you spent so many nights together doing everything and nothing at the same time. Laughing till your faces were blue and finding the human connection she so desperately needed. You could never thank him enough for bringing back your sister you had lost for so many months.
But even that wasn’t enough for him to leave. When Jacob withdrew from both of your lives you became the sad twin. It was Bella who became angry like you were so many months prior. Bella forced you in the truck one afternoon claiming she had a bone to pick with the second boy who abandoned her in so many months. You had no desire to see the boy, but Bella demanded you come with her.
You watched as she pounded on the door of his home only to be met with nothing. You waited in the truck as Bella noticed Sam and his pack off to the side of Jacob’s home. Her footsteps treaded the path towards Sam and his pack, heart pounding with a mixture of apprehension and anticipation. It was only when you saw her physically push Sam, the leader of the tribe, did you bolt out of the car trying to catch your sister from doing anything too drastic.
"Bella, stop!" you cried out, your voice tinged with desperation as you rushed forward. Your heart was hammering desperately in your chest, a whirlwind of emotions swirling within you as you reached out towards Bella, hoping to stop the impending confrontation.
But it was too late. Bella's palm has already met one of the dark-haired boys cheeks with a sharp crack, the sound reverberating through the trees. You watch in dismay as the man’s expression darkened. His features contorted with fury, a primal growl rumbling in his chest that even startled you. The forest seemed to hold its breath as the world became silent at what the next move of the man could possibly be. You gulped feeling the tension thick in the air.
And then, in the midst of the events that were unfolding. You looked to the men in front of you looking at each of them one by one before your eyes finally met the one who had just been slapped. His gaze locked onto yours, a fleeting moment of connection amidst the tumult that surrounded you. In that instant, everything seemed to crystallize, the world narrowing down to just the two of you even with all the people surrounding you.
Timed seemed to slow to an utter crawl. The world around you faded into insignificance as your attention was locked in on the man. A sharp gasp came from you as you continued staring right at him. It was a feeling you had never experienced in this lifetime. Something you could never have expected. He too couldn’t seem to break his gaze away from yours. In that fleeting instant, everything seems to shift. The air crackled with anticipation, the forest holding its breath as the weight of the moment bears down upon you. It's as if the universe itself has paused, allowing you and Paul to exist in a suspended state of existence, isolated from the disorder that rages beyond the confines of your shared gaze.
As Paul staggers backwards, a whirlwind of emotions courses through his mind, each feeling vying for dominance over the others. Anger, once burning bright within him, now dissipates like mist in the morning sun, leaving behind a hollow sense of bewilderment and wonder. His chest heaves with the effort of controlling the torrent of feelings threatening to overwhelm him. He had felt every single emotion. Saw every single emotion. You were her. You were his imprint. Only Sam had been so lucky to have found his person. And now Paul did. And he didn’t even know her name nor you his.
To your surprise you felt your feet moving forward as he dropped to his knees on the forest floor. Paul was acutely aware of the weight of this moment. He had to wonder what you were feeling. You too were locked in on his own eyes, yet you could have no idea what was going on and how chaotic your seemingly normal life was about to get. But amidst the heaviness of the moment, there is something else—a glimmer of hope, a spark of possibility that ignites within him like a flame in the darkness. For in your eyes, he sees not just a reflection of his own turmoil, but also a flicker of understanding, a shared recognition of the bond that now binds the two of you together.
"What... what just happened?" Bella's voice wavers, her eyes wide with disbelief as she looks between you and Paul. But you have no answers to offer, you were just as confused as she was. While Bella's voice wavers with disbelief, her eyes dart between you, Paul, and the surrounding men, searching for answers amidst the bewildering scene.
Embry, who had been standing nearby with Sam, catches your eye with a knowing smirk, a hint of understanding dancing in his gaze. He stepped forward, as if he's seen this scenario play out before. "Looks like we've got ourselves an imprint," Embry remarks, his voice tinged with amusement as he addresses Sam, who watches the unfolding scene with a composed yet cautious demeanor.
Sam nods in acknowledgment, his expression unreadable as he assesses the situation before him. His eyes shifted between you and Paul with a measured intensity, as if gauging the depth of the bond that now connects you.
Meanwhile, the boy you had originally came to see, Jacob, came sprinting out of the house that he had just ignored Bella from. His expression a mix of surprise and concern as he takes in the scene before him. His eyes narrow as they settle on Paul, a flicker of protectiveness crossing his features before he turns to you, his look softening with understanding in your utter confusion. Yet in all that was happening so fast you couldn’t seem to tear your eyes away from this man. He had captured your mind, body, and soul all within a single look.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Jacob asks, his voice gentle yet tinged with worry as he approaches, his footsteps echoing against the damp grass.
You finally tore your gaze away from Paul somehow, your heart racing as you meet Jacob's concerned gaze. Despite the frenzy that surrounds you, his presence offers a sense of comfort, a reminder of the unwavering support that has always been there for you, negating the two weeks he had decided to ignore you for.
"I don't know what happened," you admit, your voice barely above a whisper as you try to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions that flowed through you so unexpectedly. "But I feel... different."
Bella's eyes widen in disbelief, her mind racing to comprehend the incomprehensible. But amidst the uncertainty that envelops you all, one thing remains clear—the ties that bind you to Paul, are unbreakable, defying logic and reason with an undeniable force.
"Jacob," Sam's voice cuts through the silence, his tone firm yet tinged with a hint of urgency. "Take them to Emily's. We need to talk." He motions towards Paul who was still on his knees before you.
Jacob nods in acknowledgment, his gaze flickering between you, Paul, and Sam, a silent understanding passing between them. He moves forward, his hand reaching out to gently guide you away from Paul, his touch reassuring in the confusion that surrounds you.
"Come on, Y/N, Bella," Jacob murmurs softly, "Let's go."
As Jacob reaches out to guide you away from Paul, a low, guttural growl rumbles deep within Paul's chest just as it had earlier after Bella has slapped him. His possessiveness flaring in the face of Jacob's touch. His eyes narrow, a primal instinct driving him to protect what he now considers his own.
"Hands off my girl," Paul's voice is low, but the irritated edge to it is unmistakable as he stands to takes a step towards you. His eyes never left yours. The intensity of his declaration sends a shiver down your spine, his unwavering stare holding you in a trance.
But Sam, ever the voice of reason among the sea of emotions, steps forward with a measured stride. His expression unwavering as he addresses Paul with a firm yet understanding tone. “Paul, calm down," Sam's voice carries authority, tempered with a hint of empathy as he meets Paul's frustration head-on. "We need to talk, separately. She will be just fine with Jacob."
Paul's protest is immediate, his feelings for you overwhelmingly strong. "No, she's not going anywhere without me," he insists, his voice tinged with desperation as he takes a defiant step forward, his resolve unyielding.
But Sam's gaze holds steady, his alpha like authority asserting itself in the face of Paul's defiance. "Paul, stand down," he commands, his voice brooking no argument as he meets Paul's gaze with unwavering determination. Paul winces but gives into Sam’s demands, though the reluctance is evident in the tension that lingers in his frame. His eyes remain locked on you, a silent promise of protection and devotion burning brightly within their depths.
While Jacob leads you away from Paul you can't help but feel torn between the conflicting desires that rage within you. Part of you longs to stay by Paul's side, to bask in the warmth of his unwavering love. While another part recognizes the need for clarity and understanding in the sheer confusion that threatens to consume you. And as you and Bella follow Jacob through the dense undergrowth of the forest you can't shake the feeling of Paul's presence lingering at the edges of your consciousness, a constant reminder of the inexplicable bond that now defines your existence.
Jacob guides you and Bella through a trail in the forest, a heavy silence hangs in the air, punctuated only by the rustling of leaves and the distant calls of unseen creatures. Sensing the need to break the tension, Jacob takes a deep breath before breaking the uncomfortable silence. "Look, I need to tell you both something," Jacob begins, his voice cautious yet resolute. "But it's going to sound... well, it's going to sound crazy."
You and Bella exchange a puzzled glance, the weight of Jacob's words settling uneasily in the pit of your stomachs. You've both sensed that there's more to the Quileute tribe than meets the eye, but the truth remains shrouded in mystery.
Jacob takes a moment to gather his thoughts before coming out with it. "The thing is... we're not exactly... normal," he admits, his words halting as he struggles to find the right way to explain the inexplicable. "We're... werewolves."
The revelation hangs in the air like a heavy fog, enveloping you and Bella in a cloud of disbelief. For a moment, neither of you can find the words to respond, the enormity of Jacob's confession leaving you speechless. "Werewolves?" Bella's voice is barely above a whisper, her eyes wide with shock as she looks to Jacob for confirmation.
Jacob nods solemnly, his expression grave as he meets Bella's gaze. "Yes. And there's something else. Something called imprinting."
You nodded along, “That’s what the one guy just said. We’ve got ourselves an imprint? What is that?” You asked pressing him further.
Jacob smiled knowing that your life was going to change, hopefully for the better. "It's when a wolf finds their soulmate. Their other half. The one person they're meant to be with for the rest of their lives." Bella's brow furrows in confusion, her mind struggling to comprehend the magnitude of what Jacob is telling her. But you, on the other hand, feel a strange sense of recognition stir within you, a faint echo of the inexplicable connection you felt with Paul.
As Bella sighs with uncertainty, Jacob senses the weight of her confusion and seeks to provide clarity. "And... and what does that have to do with what happened back there?" Bella asks, her voice laden with hesitance as she gestures back in the direction of Paul and the pack.
Jacob's gaze flickers towards you, a silent acknowledgment passing between you as he prepares to reveal the truth. "It means that... Paul imprinted on you, Y/N," he explains gently, his eyes filled with compassion as he meets your bewildered gaze. "He's your soulmate."
“Paul.” You whispered his name out loud for the first time. Paul, your soulmate. Your heart skips a beat at the revelation, the words sinking in slowly as you struggle to comprehend the enormity of what Jacob is saying. Soulmates? It's a concept you never thought you'd entertain, let alone experience firsthand.
"Soulmate?" Bella's voice echoes your thoughts, her eyes widening in astonishment as she turns to you for confirmation.
You nod slowly, the reality of the situation beginning to sink in. "I... I don't understand it all," you murmur, your voice barely above a whisper as you grapple with the implications of Jacob's words as the three of you walked through the forest to what you assumed to be Emily’s place, whomever that was.
Jacob offers you a reassuring smile, his expression filled with understanding. "It's okay, Y/N. I know it's a lot to take in," he says softly, his tone gentle yet firm. "An imprint is... it's like finding your other half. Your perfect match. And for Paul, that's you."
Bella's eyes widen in realization, her mind racing to process the revelation. "So... he's bound to her? Like... forever?" she asks, her voice tinged with uncertainty as she seeks to grasp the intricacies of the imprinting process.
Jacob nods solemnly. "Yeah. It's a permanent bond," he explains, his tone heavy with the weight of the truth. "But it doesn't have to be romantic. It can be... it can be like a best friend too. Someone who's always there for you, no matter what."
The realization washes over you like a tidal wave, the enormity of the situation sinking in as you come to terms with the truth of Paul's imprint. It's a bond that transcends the boundaries of time and space, forging a connection between two souls that can never be broken.
And as you walked surrounded by the whispering of the trees and the steady presence of Jacob by your side, you find yourself beginning to accept the truth of your newfound destiny. The road ahead may be filled with uncertainty, but with the unwavering support of your sister and the friendship of Jacob, you know that you'll face whatever challenges may come your way head-on.
Tumblr media
As you, Bella, and Jacob step into Emily's cozy kitchen, the aroma of freshly baked muffins envelops you, a comforting contrast to the whirlwind of emotions swirling within. Emily's warm smile greets Jacob, her eyes alight with joy as she rushes forward to embrace him.
"Jacob, it's been too long!" Emily exclaims, her voice filled with genuine affection as she pulls back to look at him.
Jacob returns her embrace, offering a sheepish grin. "I know, Em. It's good to see you," he replies warmly.
Emily's gaze then shifts to you and Bella, her smile widening as she takes in your presence. "And who do we have here?" she asks, her tone friendly and inviting.
Jacob gestures towards you and Bella. "Emily, this is Y/N and Bella Swan," he introduces, a sense of pride evident in his voice. "They're new to town, and we thought I'd bring them by to meet you." He spoke referencing the pack as a whole. It was intriguing watching him operate now that you knew why he up and disappeared on you those weeks ago.
Emily's eyes widen with recognition as she looks at Bella. "Ah, the Swan sisters! Charlie's girls. I’ve heard a lot about you two," she remarks with a knowing nod. Then her gaze shifts to Bella, and her expression changes to one of surprise. "And you're the vampire girl, aren't you?"
Your heart nearly stops at Emily's words, the revelation hitting you like a sudden jolt. Vampire girl? You exchange a bewildered glance with Bella, who looks equally taken aback. Edward was a vampire? What next… mermaids?
"What? Bella? Vampires?" you stammer, your cheeks flushing with embarrassment as you struggle to comprehend Emily's words.
Bella's face turns crimson, her embarrassment palpable as she shoots you an apologetic glance. Her eyes told you that she would explain it all later. "Emily, I'm so sorry," she begins, her voice tinged with mortification. "Y/N, this is... um... kind of a long story."
As the truth about vampires and the supernatural world of Forks begins to unfold, you can't help but feel overwhelmed by the enormity of it all. But amidst the confusion and embarrassment, there's a sense of shared understanding that together you'll navigate the challenges that lie ahead. As the conversation continues in Emily's kitchen, laughter and chatter filling the air, the sound of approaching footsteps draws your attention. Sam, Paul, and Embry enter the room, their expressions relaxed and jovial as they exchange banter with Jacob.
"Hey, look who decided to join the party!" Jacob teases, a playful grin spreading across his face as he greets his packmates.
Sam chuckles, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "Couldn't stay away, could we?" he retorts, a hint of mischief in his voice as he exchanges friendly jabs with Jacob.
Paul's gaze finds yours amidst the commotion, a soft smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Y/N," he says, his voice gentle yet earnest as he steps forward, his eyes meeting yours with a depth of emotion that leaves you breathless.
"Paul," you reply, your voice barely above a whisper as you meet his gaze, a rush of anticipation coursing through you at the prospect of speaking with him alone.
Sensing the unspoken tension between you and Paul, Jacob steps forward with a knowing smile. "I'll leave you two to get to know each other," he says, his tone light yet meaningful as he gives you a subtle nod of encouragement.
As Jacob and the others retreat away from the kitchen to give you and Paul some privacy, you find yourselves alone in the midst of Emily's bustling kitchen. The air crackles with anticipation as Paul takes a step closer, his eyes searching yours with an intensity that sets your heart racing. "Y/N, I wanted to talk to you," Paul begins, his voice soft yet filled with determination as he gathers his thoughts. "About what happened earlier. About us. If that’s okay with you."
You swallow hard, the weight of Paul's words hanging heavy in the air as you search for the right response. "Paul, I... I don't even know where to begin," you admit, your voice trembling with uncertainty as you struggle to find the words to express the whirlwind of emotions that threaten to overwhelm you completely.
But Paul reaches out, his hand finding yours with a gentle touch that sends a shiver down your spine. "We'll figure it out together, Y/N," he says, his voice filled with conviction. "Whatever happens, I'll always be here for you. I promise you that."
As you stand there, enveloped in the warmth of Paul's presence, a soft blush tinges your cheeks as you struggle to find the right words to express the swirl of emotions coursing through you. Your heart races with anticipation, your thoughts a jumble of uncertainty and longing. "This is all a lot," you murmur softly, your voice barely above a whisper as you meet his gaze with a shy smile. "But it's a good thing you're so... so handsome." You weren’t sure where that surge of confidence came from, maybe it was the bond. But even you couldn’t deny the sheer beauty of the man that stood before you. You feel a rush of exhilaration mixed with nervousness, unsure of how Paul will respond to your flirty compliment.
Paul's expression shifts, a mischievous twinkle dancing in his eyes as he leans in closer, his breath warm against your ear. "Is that your way of saying you think I'm cute, Y/N?" he teases, his voice low and husky.
You bite your lip, a playful glint in your eyes as you meet his gaze. "Maybe," you reply coyly, a hint of flirtatiousness creeping into your tone as you lean in closer to him. "You'll just have to stick around to find out."
As a smirk tugs at the corners of Paul's lips, his gaze intensifies, locking onto yours with a magnetic pull that leaves you breathless. You feel a surge of anticipation coursing through your veins as he leans in even closer, the air crackling with electricity between you.
"Oh, I intend to, pretty girl" Paul murmurs, his voice a low rumble that sends shivers ripping through your body. His words are filled with promise, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he closes the distance between you, his breath warm against your skin. “Don’t you worry about that.”
A soft gasp escapes your lips as Paul's hand gently cups your cheek, his touch sending waves of warmth cascading through you. Your heart pounds in your chest as his lips brush against yours in a tantalizing whisper, a feather-light caress that ignites a fire deep within your soul.
"You're so beautiful, Y/N Swan," Paul whispers against your lips, his voice filled with sincerity and admiration. "I can't help but be drawn to you. I’m forever yours pretty girl."
The sweetness of his words sends your heart soaring, a rush of euphoria washing over you as you lose yourself in the intoxicating embrace of his affection. In that moment, all doubts and fears melt away, leaving only the undeniable connection between you and Paul, a bond forged in the flames of desire and longing. And as you surrender to the irresistible pull of his embrace, you can't help but feel a sense of bliss wash over you. With Paul by your side, you know that the journey ahead will be filled with laughter, passion, and endless moments of pure, unadulterated love.

Sun casted a bright yellow hue from the grass to the glass, making the general weather warmer than usual. Walking alongside her friend y/n was somewhat surprised to see the notification of felix’s comment pop up, voluntarily inviting her to the pub, again. Quite the modern day tragedy it felt like to have to decline it because their labs ran very late. But regardless it was surprising to say at the very least, “We just had drinks with his friends once and he’s inviting us again?” She said as she showed her friend the notification.
“Woah.” Her friend said as they looked at the notification and smiled “well, inviting you but this is-this is cool?”
“You and I are a package deal so inviting me is inviting you.” Y/n said as their friend stared at the comment and the reply, they were analysing the interaction.
“Oh okay yes” they nodded “Also when did he start following you?”
“Okay so we had drinks two days ago right? I think, that night, but it was after I returned to my dorm and I don’t remember exchanging socials.” Y/n said as she went through their interaction from drinks that night.
Her friend tilted their head raising brows, “oh so he looked you up. Plus your account’s open and he still commented? Wow.” They implied in a surprised yet elated tone.
“Wait-what? What do you mean by open account? Almost everyone has open accounts?” Y/n stated confused with a shrug.
“Yeah and anyone can see his comment on YOUR page. So he wasn’t embarrassed to comment now that’s the outlook.”
“Why would he be embarrassed to comment?” Y/n said as she looked at her friend in somewhat the offended tone.
“Are you serious? You have 79 followers.” Her friend said giving her a tight smile to comfort her through their brutal honestly.
“Exactly. Even the serving lady follows me. I get along with everybody.” She stood her ground with an obvious shrug.
“Do you hear yourself? Do you want to repeat that first sentence?” Her friend asked her with a sigh as y/n contemplated that. She needed the serving lady’s follow to reach upto 79 followers as social as it may seem. “Also, don’t forget how we got drinks with him and his friends in the first place.”
“Oh” she said nodding, “We were getting alcohol for lab work on a weekend, wow, yeah I see it now…”
“But. Come on. He commented.” Her friend said pointing her phone screen which still had her comment section open like a textbook.
“Him and his friends most definitely thinks we’re the coolest.” Y/n added regaining her optimism.
“Well…” her friend trailed off not wanting to dampen the enthusiasm “I like how you positive you are.”
“I wish we didn’t have lab today” She whined and rested her head on the lab table.

“So you ditched us to get Chinese last night?” Farleigh asked raising a sharp brow as he’d scroll through his phone and stumbled upon a certain post.
“How’d you know?” Felix asked as he turned in his chair to look at farleigh.
“Y/n has the dumbest social media presence” Farleigh stated as she scrolled through her previous posts “I mean all her posts are some ugly project model and if not that it’s some random cats?”
“Oh yeah it was a last minute plan-to get Chinese whatever…” felix trailed off with a sigh.
“What is this girl doing? She is too pretty to post stupid jokes and labs god” Farleigh complaint as he went through y/n’s posts. “2 likes on each post yeah, you’ve got to give it to her dedication to document everything.” He scoffed.
“Can you stop stalking her?” Felix urged rolling his eyes.
“Oh I’m stalking her?” Farleigh asked tilting her head. “I know you just out of curiosity asked around for the D wing lab timings and you just happened to be there by the end of her lecture yes sure” with not much reply felix just threw a pillow at farleigh which he happened to dodge.

Need 4 Speed: The Skeleton Crew
Summary: The infamous Hak's Garage, owned by well-respected technical expert Ju Haknyeon and financed by the retired underground drag racer Lee Sangyeon. Hak's Garage is an inconspicuous daytime automotive garage that offers your average vehicle tuning and modification. It's during the nighttime when the place starts to let loose and becomes the go-to spot for anyone and everyone who has an inkling of fascination for cars. Get to know the Skeleton Crew that runs the garage below!
Tags: Underground street racer!AU for The Boyz
Sangyeon. One of the pioneers in the local underground racing community alongside Lee Hyunjae before his decision to retire. Sangyeon was a well-known drag racer in the Circuit in his earlier years and has grown quite the popularity since then. Nowadays, you can find the man at the back-office of Hak’s Garage always in calls over dealerships and possible sponsorships. Sangyeon thought it was time to give back to the community that helped raise him by taking mechanics and drivers who he saw character in under his wing. Underground street racing is illegal after all and when illegal activities are involved, bad people tend to make themselves known.
Jacob. Jacob is a friend of a friend who knows a guy that knows this other guy that works in the Circuit. He got invited once to a Circuit race and was surprised to see a very familiar face amongst the illegal street racers. Kevin Moon — his childhood best friend from all the way back in another life. He didn’t know if he would recognize him but the moment the Chevy Camaro driver saw him amidst the crowd of on-lookers, he immediately called on to him with the biggest welcoming grin. The rest was history and history came in the form of an automotive garage. Jacob would spend his free time with his old friend and his other newly found friends whenever his schedule allowed him to. He never once raced in his life but he does stick around to help in organizing events for the crew.
Younghoon. Younghoon was quite literally all over the place. Between balancing his University life and helping run the garage - amongst other things, it’s a wonder how the boy finds time to actually do everything. He often helps Sangyeon with legal work and when he gets bored he finds himself underneath a car alongside Eric or Haknyeon. Sometimes, he also participates in the friendly competitions held by the garage and whilst he doesn’t have a car of his own, some members of the crew trust him enough to let him use theirs.
Haknyeon. Hak’s Garage was the bread and butter of technical expert Ju Haknyeon. Depending on who’s asking, the garage has grown infamous notoriety as one of the city’s hubs for illegal car meets and races. Though Haknyeon tends to host friendly competitions, every now and then he allows outsiders (both from the crew and the city) to race with all-stakes at hand. People often ask him why they never see him inside a car, it’s more likely you’ll find the Ju Haknyeon underneath one after all. But Haknyeon only shrugs his shoulders, wiping his grease-stained hands on a rug before replying that his driving days are over.

Congrats on 3k followers!!! And wishing you a happy writing anniversary!!
Wanted to request a song inspired fic with As You Are by Zack Tabudlo and/or Give Me Your Forever (also by Zack Tabudlo) for Sangyeon or Jacob (The Boyz).
-------------------------------------------------
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️ Also, thank you for bringing this singer to my attention!! His vocals?!?!!? 🤧🤧
Jacob + sweet, tooth decaying fluff
Song inspiration: As You Are by Zack Tabudlo
Tumblr media
The warm feeling in your chest swells as Jacob's eyes sparkle at you. A blush warms your face and you look down at the nearly empty plate in front of you with a smile. The dim noise of the restaurant you're at fades into the background until it seems like only you and Jacob exist. He reaches across the table to hold onto your hand, and you swear there could never be a more perfect moment.
When he squeezes your fingers, you glance up at him. His eyes hold nothing but love and adoration. It's like those emotions are pouring out from the windows of his soul.
"I have something for you."
Curiously, you tilt your head to the side. With the hand not holding yours, he digs into the pocket of his jacket and pulls out a small box. The air whooshes out of your lungs and your eyes flash up to his in shock. You haven't been dating long enough for that. There's no way that's a -
"Before you get too panicked, it's a promise ring." The words relax you and Jacob gives you an amused smile. "Though, one day, it will be the real thing…"
He holds out the box and you gingerly grip it. Letting go of his hand, you slowly open the lid and lightly gasp. Small diamonds glitter merrily at you, and you carefully pull out the silver band. Jacob waits for you to slide it onto your finger before he finishes his speech.
"I want you to always remember that I love you. I know there will probably be times when we both make mistakes, but I'm serious about us. You're my future, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you if you'll have me."
You're nodding before you realize and it takes a minute for you to find your voice. When you do, you say, "You're not going anywhere, Jacob Bae."

Early August in London this year was quite rainy, but fortunately, the day you had to go around the city with the documents turned out to be surprisingly sunny and pleasant. It was the second month of your new job.
The bell on the door in the coffee shop tinkled as you went inside in search of your senior colleague, whose errands you had been running for half the day.
"Annabel, hi! I’ve signed the documents, made copies and notarized them. Here are the originals in the folder, and here are the copies," you said, sitting down on the opposite chair and rummaging in your bag, taking out all the necessary papers.
"Oh, thank you, Y/N! I expected that you would only have time to pick up the documents, and you have already done everything! Cool, you're doing great!" the girl smiled at you, and then added, "Our new capable young employee."
She said this to a young man in a colored seemingly expensive shirt who was sitting relaxed close to her on the couch and drinking coffee. He looked at you with a smile while Annabel was having a dialogue with you and complimenting you on the work done. God. This was the guy from your job, whom you saw rarely and from afar, but you really wanted to know more about him. You didn't even know his name because you were too shy to ask, and besides, you didn't talk close yet to people in your new place.
"Felix. Felix Catton," he introduced himself, extending his long arm across the table.
"Y/N," you answered a little timidly, shaking his hand. His fingers were no less long than the hand itself, and his palm was warm, "Um... Y/N L/N."
"Okay, I have to run, bye, Ann," the guy kissed her on the cheek, threw some money on the table and smiled at you again, "It was nice to meet you, a new capable young employee."
Young. Not that young, it was your second full-time job after graduating from the university, but of course you were younger than the two of them. Annabel, as far as you knew, was almost 29 years old. Felix was probably about the same age, it was hard for you to tell. It seemed that he could be aged from 23 to 33, given that he looked so youthful and lively.
"So... does he work for our company? It seems that I saw him in the office, but very rarely..." you tried to find out information about this man from Annabel as casually as possible.
"Yes, Felix has... a more of a free schedule. His father is a co–owner of the company. So, he is not particularly worried about being a worker of the year. However, it's not like I live at work either," Annabel began to tell you openly. It seems you had already realized that she was also a pretty laid-back person, "So… What are you ordering?"
Despite your protests, Annabel ordered and paid for you coffee and lunch anyway, and then continued, "We studied at Oxford together. You could say he helped me get a job here later."
Oh. You got it. It seems that the picture in your head had finally begun to take shape. It became clear to you why some people worked hard from early morning till night in the same office as someone came at lunchtime at best and generally behaved as if they had known each other half their lives. Because that how it was. Many of them were Oxonians, and had known each other since the university, and some even from boarding schools. Of course, you also received a decent education, but it was nothing compared to Oxford. But this was also often not only about education, but also about lifestyle in general. Your family was not any close to be called poor, but still it was not comparable to this level of life, and you were able to get a current job only because of your hard work and probably decent amount of luck.
You felt a little sad at the thought that for them you probably were a girl who came out of nowhere and did the paperwork, and it was very possible that you would remain that way in their eyes. In Felix's eyes, in particular. That was how you imagined his life as a golden boy, who was apparently at this stage of his life employed in his own parents' company, where he did not need to make any effort to stay there and at the same time receive a round sum of money. Usually it also led to a certain lifestyle.
While Annabel was stirring her coffee with a spoon, you noticed an engagement ring on her hand, which you didn't seem to notice before or just didn't pay attention to.
"Oh... can I... congratulate you?" you asked, barely hiding your awkwardness, "Is it... Felix?"
"Yes, thank you… What? Felix?" the girl laughed, "No. We used to date back at the university, and after that… Well, now we are not. I can't imagine Felix as a fiancé or husband. To be honest, I don't think he can either. He's a pretty free spirit, let's put it this way."
You exhaled and nodded, on the one hand satisfied with the answer, and on the other hand you were upset and got into thinking even more. Yes, it seemed that you two were different, too different, and it came to be clear in just a half an hour on a lunch.
But that didn't stop you from thinking about him anyway for the whole next month. He still rarely came to the office, but now he nodded and smiled broadly if he saw you. You even chatted briefly a couple of times in the hallway and over a cup of coffee in the office kitchen. You still didn't know what he really was like, but he seemed nice and friendly, even though he was always in a hurry for somewhere else. Or someone else. You couldn't help but still look forward to these short meetings.
And that how the autumn came.
"Well, lucky you, Y/N – it seems that a small anniversary of three months of your work here coincides with our seasonal party," sipping from her cup, Annabel informed you, "Once in a season we go out somewhere with the whole team. Well, to be more exact – with the least boring group of people here. Come with us? We're thinking of going to a club this time."
You willingly agreed, pleased that you were invited to this party. After all, it was not for nothing that you'd been Annabel's indispensable assistant, helping her out all the time. And, to be honest, you did a lot of her own work for her. And also you hoped that you and her began to get closer in personal level, even though you were quite different, it was still quite a fun.
Week later, you were hurrying along the streets while looking at the navigator where exactly the club that Annabel was talking about was located. You were late because you spent a lot of time on dressing up and doing makeup. You wanted to make an impression and you were a little nervous. Nervous because all this time you were wondering if Felix would come or not. You were worried about both scenarios, but you still wanted him to come first of all, even though you had no idea what and how should happen next.
The place greeted you with loud enough but pleasant music and colorful lighting. Your colleagues were sitting on the sofas nearby. Annabel waved cheerfully, "Y/N! We're here! Hi! Yes, you're not even the last one, so make yourself comfortable."
You greeted everyone who was sitting. You felt quite awkward, because you didn't communicate with everyone at least on the same level you did with Annabel, but you hoped that the evening would go well and that you didn't come in vain. And it turned out to be quite alright, but anyway, part of your thoughts was roaming whether Felix would come or not.
"Okay, guys, and now we'll drink to the Y/N! She's been helping me a lot lately. Y/N, I hope this is just the beginning of your work with us!" Annabel toasted.
"To a new young capable employee!" said a velvety deep voice behind you. You turned around. Felix stood behind, dressed in a white shirt and jeans. He had a shot glass in his hand and he had some kind of red cowboy hat on a rope behind his neck and back.
You all clinked drinks together and then started to sit back down on the sofas.
"Hello, Y/N," Felix smiled broadly at you, "Glad you were invited too."
"Oh, Felix, where have you been?" your colleagues began to ask him as he sat down with them and began to tell about being stuck in another club and then getting through traffic jams here to you all.
"Unexpectedly. I thought he wasn't coming, huh," you said softly to Annabel.
"Why wouldn't Felix come to the party? It's not like going to office meetings, you know," the girl chuckled.
You continued to chat with Annabel this evening. Felix, unfortunately, did not approach you, and seemingly had fun chitchatting with all the people on the couch in front of you, although he kept glancing at you, so it seemed to you. But maybe it just seemed, because you had been drinking for the first time in a long time, and your head was already starting to feel a little dizzy.
But over time, your interlocutor talked more and more about her own with her long-time colleagues and friends, until she almost completely forgot about your presence. You began to feel gradually lonely in this company. Maybe you were right. A girl from nowhere who couldn’t even afford too many drinks in this place in central London, who was helping Oxford graduates who were, are and will be fine, with paperwork they weren’t really willing to do. But it was better to splurge on another drink than to sit and think all these thoughts.
Walking through the crowd to the bar, you stood in line and chose what to take for yourself. Something strong, but not very expensive, if possible.
"You have a small anniversary in our company today. It should be celebrated," a pleasant voice spoke softly almost in your ear. Turning your head to the side, you found Felix, who was leaning almost his entire body against the counter. He had definitely had a drink and was even more relaxed and cheerful than usual, "It's all on me, of course."
You protested a little, but Catton quickly dismissed all objections, taking two drinks for you at once and one glass for himself, "And this is about time you tell me how do you find the work here with us, where you came from and generally about yourself."
You headed back to the sofa with drinks. Since the path was laying through the dancing crowd, and you had two glasses in your hands, Felix held you protectively, placing his hand on your back and guiding you through all the people, making sure that no one would touch you. The feeling of his big warm hand on your back, on your skin, half-opened due to the design of the dress, definitely excited you and gave you goosebumps.
Some people from your company, including Annabel, was already gone to the dance floor, so you sat down on an empty sofa together and started talking. It was very uneasy and unusual for you to see Felix so close to you, also in such an informal setting. His big brown eyes looked at you attentively while you talked a little about yourself, about your education, how you got a job at this company, what you were doing here and who you started communicating with. What dark fluffy eyelashes he had. He was so handsome. You blushed a little and got embarrassed, but still, because of the abundance of information that you had to tell him, your brain was a little distracted and calmed down.
"That's great, Y/N. You're so... hardworking. And, apparently, you’ve achieved a lot on your own. That's very cool," Felix nodded with a serious face.
"Well, I haven't achieved anything special yet that I would really like, but thank you for the kind words. It's great that you're interested in your future subordinates."
"Oh, so you know? Well... we'll see about that. My dad is a co–owner of the company, but not the owner. So, it's not at all a fact that I'm going to manage over here," Felix was a little embarrassed and cleared his throat, "And I don't know what's going to happen next, I don't guess into the future for that long… Maybe I'll go abroad somewhere, like I've already done before, huh."
Then Felix began to tell about some parts of his own life - a little about his childhood, about studying at Oxford, what he did there and where he went later. He was quite modest and obviously tried not to emphasize his fabulously luxurious lifestyle, but this was the kind of thing that could not be completely kept to oneself. This manifested itself even in behavior and appearance, not to mention the stories.
But you liked, you really did like talking to him. With all that said, Felix Catton had a talent for making you feel like you were welcome, that you were no worse than him, that your lifestyle was no less boring or less important when he wanted to grant his attention. Even if you were completely different. You were listened to very attentively.
Due to this feeling, combined with his appearance and charisma in general, you were ready to never get up from this couch, if only your conversations would last forever.
But the forever ended quickly when Felix's friends yanked him onto the dance floor. Friends, and maybe not only friends. It seemed that many female colleagues and just a lot of the girls nearby were staring endlessly and smile charmingly at him in the hope of getting more of his attention. Of course, you could understand that oh so well. But all the same, you were upset that your chances were probably much less than those of all his acquaintances in his circle. Even if it was just about a sort of a close communication.
You finished your second drink and went to get another one. While you were standing in line, one of this year's hits started playing in the hall. A gentle female voice began to tell her story:
What I would do to take away
This fear of being loved, allegiance to the pain
Now I fucked up and I'm missing you
Never be like you
I would give anything to change this like-minded heart
That loves fake shiny things
Now I fucked up and I'm missing you
Never be like you
You couldn't take your eyes off Felix, who was having fun in the middle of the crowd – he was giving himself up to the music, dancing to the beat. Green, blue and sometimes purple spots of light slid across his face and his clothes. How graceful and natural he was now, as if he had been born on the dance floor.
I'm only human can't you see
I made, I made a mistake
Please just look me in my face
Tell me everything's okay
'Cause I got it
Never be like you
Felix completely broke up and went dancing at the pole jokingly. You didn't know if he was already so tipsy or just so relaxed naturally to that extent, but you couldn't look away with your mouth slightly opened. He was holding onto the pole with one hand, and with the other he was waving in the air, also swinging his hips.
How do I make you wanna stay
Hate sleeping on my own
Missing the way you taste
Now I'm fucked up and I'm missing you
Never be like you
Stop looking at me with those eyes
Like I could disappear and you wouldn't care why
Now I'm fucked up and I'm missing you
Never be like you
Your heart sank. Even though this song was about trying to bring back an existing relationship, it still somehow resonated especially with you right now. Particularly the line "Never be like you", which seemed to repeat your thought, which you carefully tried to hide from yourself tonight. You would never be like Felix.
The crowd gathered at the bar gradually pushed the gawking and not moving you closer to the dance floor, where Catton noticed you.
"Hey, Y/N, why are you just standing there so lost? Join me," the guy said cheerfully, slightly pulling you by the hand closer to him.
You started dancing together, he put on his red hat on to make you laugh a little. He was smiling widely, swaying from side to side bewitchingly in front of you.
I'm only human can't you see
I made, I made a mistake
Please just look me in my face
Tell me everything's okay
'Cause I got it
Never be like you
His white shirt was unbuttoned now, apparently, he had been hot for a while. Beads of sweat gathered on his skin and disappeared with him in the rays of the strobe light from time to time, which shone behind his back. In such lighting, it seemed as if he was moving in slow motion, and that was all a beautiful movie in which you accidentally fell into the place of the main character. But it wasn't a fantasy, it was your night right now.
I'm falling on my knees
Forgive me, I'm a fucking fool
I'm begging darling please
Absolve me of my sins, won't you
You wanted this moment to last forever. And unlike the conversation on the couch, it really felt like it was happening, like in a dream that no one dared to break. You were drowning in his magnetic gaze and smile, which he was giving only to you now. He was like Prince Charming of the 2010’s.
I'm only human can't you see
I made, I made a mistake
Please just look me in my face
Tell me everything's okay
'Cause I got it
Never be like you
Baby, baby please believe me
Come on take it easy
Please don't ever leave me... oooh
Never be like you
You mentally repeated the last lines of this song until your face itself took on a slightly pleading look. Felix seemed to catch it and touched your shoulder. His lips parted in the desire to say something, but he just stood there for a few seconds in silence, as if considering what to say and do next.
"... by the way, you look great today. I mean, your office looks are cute too, but this… You're full of surprises, aren't you?" he said after a while.
You smiled sheepishly as you continued to dance, drifting back into a musical and slightly alcoholic trance until it was interrupted by several of Felix's friends and your colleagues.
"Buddy, we've going home," the guys shook hands, and then started talking about some of their business. You moved a little to the side, and as soon as you did that, Felix slowly began to be surrounded by familiar and not so very familiar people. You went for a cocktail, and then headed to the couch, where you started talking to a colleague of yours. You kept glancing in Felix's direction at the same time, but he still didn't come up, engrossed in talking and some dancing.
After saying goodbye to your colleague, who also left, you finished your cocktail and finally decided to check your phone. Oh. You didn't know it was so late. You started looking for a taxi, but it costed a lot right now. Confused, you sat alone, staring at the screen and sucking from a straw a mix of melted ice and a cocktail from the bottom of a glass.
"Please pardon me for leaving you for a while," the hot hand laid on your back and then its owner appeared behind it, who plopped down on the sofa next to you. He looked at you with slightly regretful doe eyes, "Are you... leaving already?"
"Yes, it's very late, and there's a lot to do tomorrow… But the taxi is still expensive, I guess I'll wait a little longer."
"What are you talking about? I'll get you a car right now," Felix took out his phone and began to quickly type something on it.
"Oh, come on, don't..."
"Hey. We're celebrating your anniversary at work, our new best employee. Have you already forgotten?" the guy interrupted you, grinning, "Tell me your address, please."
You gave your address, Catton smiled slightly.
Five minutes later, a business class taxi pulled up to the club. You just went outside, and the warm air of an early autumn night pleasantly enveloped you after the hot and stuffy nightclub.
"Is this really my car?" you were amazed. Felix turned his head to the left and right, and then, leaning over, said in a serious tone, "I don't see any exactly the same beautiful girl waiting for exactly the same taxi, and do you?"
You giggled and blushed noticeably. There was a pause hanged in the night air.
"Thanks for your company, Y/N. I'm glad you're with us now. I hope we'll see each other more often from now on."
You looked him straight in the eye, and then nodded slightly and slowly.
"Good night. Please text when you... Ah..." Felix rolled his eyes at himself, "I don't have your phone number."
He looked down, shaking his head and chewing lightly on his lip. A knot tied in your stomach. Felix. Catton. Asked. You. Your. Number. It might had been more of a common courtesy, of course, but your heart started beating a lot faster anyway. Of course, you dictated your phone number to him, which made him full of ill-concealed joy. Having recorded it in his smartphone, he said, as if nothing had happened, "Yeah, great, now I have a place to text to find out how you got home," and put you in a taxi.
He gently touched your shoulders once more when he put you in the car. He pressed his lips almost weightlessly to your ear, "Good night again, Y/N. Thank you for this evening," his mumble was very warm and pleasant, you felt your hair rising on your skin.
Watching the taxi leave, from which window you looked at him back, Felix lit a cigarette. He was smiling widely and contentedly, exhaling smoke and slightly twitching his whole body on the spot from another surge of energy. He was obviously going to attend the work more often from now on.

Continuation of Catch Me If You Can
Jacob was waiting in the room above, looking through the window to see y/n and Changmin being strapped to a chair, people getting ready with the lethal injection.
It’s been a few days since the case was closed and Jacob has taken some time off from work, which was instructed by Dongwook. He visited Kevin at his home, checking on him. He was surprised to see him up and walking, despite being stabbed in the leg. Seeing Jacob’s confusion, Kevin’s words to that were, “I’m stronger than I look, you know”, making the both of them laugh.
Jacob was driving back home, the radio quietly playing through the speakers. He was just driving with a slight smile on his face, glad that his best friend is recovering. The smile that was on his face soon faded though, the sound of someone’s voice in his ear.
“Jacob”
The voice started out as a whisper, and one voice became two, and then became three. The voices got louder, making it really hard to concentrate on driving, so he drove into a lay by one the side of the road. The voices wouldn’t stop, Jacob covering his ears. It was then he recognised the voices: they belonged to his deceased ex wife, y/n and Changmin.
He started hitting his head, wanting the voices to shut up, but they wouldn’t. He screamed, tears welling up in his eyes as it was becoming unbearable. “Please, shut up, you’re not real”, he cried, the tears stinging his eyes as angry tears streamed down his cheeks.
Jacob suddenly felt breathing behind him, making him freeze in his seat. He took off his seatbelt and slowly turned around in his seat. He gasped at what he saw: it was his deceased ex wife, Lisa. She was pale, hair a mess and eyes bloodshot.
“Cobie, why did you leave me?”, his nickname left her lips, making him feel sick to his stomach. Suddenly, her throat got sliced open, blood trickling down her neck as she gargled, gasping for breath. Jacob screamed, throwing the car door open and leaping out of it. His body fell to the ground, crawling away from the car.
“You’re not real!”, he screamed as he scrunched his eyes shut, covering his ears with his hands as he crawled up into a ball. The voices of y/n and changmin screamed at him, calling him a coward and to get his life together. They were right by his ear, loudly whispering to him now.
He could feel a presence getting closer to him, his sobbing getting louder and more erratic. “Go away, you’re in my head, please”, he pleaded, his voice hurting from shouting. A hand touched his arm, making his scream at the top of his voice, trying to get away from the thing that touched him.
“Hey, hey, it’s me”, the familiar voice said, calming Jacob down. He looked up and saw Dongwook, making Jacob confused on how and why he’s there. “I was just driving by and I saw your car by the side of the road, and I figured something was wrong, and I’m glad I listened to my gut”, he said, helping Jacob up.
“Do you want to tell me what happened?”, Dongwook asked, his voice rather gentle. Jacob was going to tell him what happened but stopped himself, not wanting to burden him with his ‘problem’. So he thought of an excuse.
“It’s fine, it’s probably just to do with me being stressed and exhausted”, he said, Dongwook not fully convinced but he didn’t push him any further. “Ok, just call me if you ever need to talk, don’t shut people out”, and he walked back to his car, driving off.
Jacob took a deep breath and got back in his car, continuing his drive home. He turned up the radio, trying to block out everything. Luckily it worked and he managed to drive the rest of the way home safely.
-------------------------------
Jacob laid in bed, under the covers as he stared up at the ceiling. He was exhausted but at the same time, he didn’t want to fall asleep, afraid he was going to see his dead ex wife again. He fought his eyes to stay open, a battle that he was sadly losing. His eyes ended up closing on their own, drifting off to sleep.
Jacob looked through the window and saw y/n and Changmin, strapped to a chair, ready for the death penalty. Everything seemed normal at first, the staff preparing the injection to give to the two in front of them. Everything suddenly changed when y/n somehow got free and grabbed the person nearest to her, and slammed his face into the wall, killing him instantly. Everyone started panicking, running around to try and stop the manic woman.
Unfortunately, y/n managed to get Changmin free and they started killing everyone around them. Jacob just froze in his spot, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, y/n and Changmin both looked at Jacob through the window, smirking up at him. The room below was a mess: dead bodies everywhere, blood splattered all over the walls. It was a bloodbath.
Jacob turned around and ran out of the room, wanting to get far away from them as possible. He ran for what seemed like hours, his feet hurting. The surroundings around him suddenly changed, the corridor he was once in disappeared. He was in complete darkness, unable to see anything in front of him. A light suddenly appeared ahead of him in the distance, a doorway of some sort. He didn’t stop running, wanting to reach the light, but it seemed to be getting further away.
“Just keep running, don’t stop”, he whispered to himself, gasping for air. His legs felt like they were going to give up on him, his limbs burning. A force started pulling him backwards, his feet skidding along the floor. He tried his hardest to get away, but it was no use. His vision went black, the last thing he heard was the sound of his ex wife’s screams.
Jacob woke up with a loud scream, his entire body covered in sweat. His breathing was erratic, trying to catch his breath. He grabbed his chest, trying to calm down. He scrunched his eyes shut, taking deep breaths. His breathing managed to go back to normal after a few minutes, the nightmare knocking him for six.
He wiped his sweat covered face with his t-shirt before getting up. He walked out of his bedroom and made his way towards the kitchen. Any trace of Lisa is out of the house, all the pictures of the two together are gone and all of the belongings have been thrown out. A part of him still loves her but he knows that he needs to forget about her. But how? She was literally murdered.
He entered the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water, downing the water in one go. He put the glass down on the counter, rubbing his face with his hand. He stood there for a few minutes, just staring into space, thinking about the nightmare he had. Was it his mind playing tricks on him? The case was the hardest one he had after all.
Suddenly there was loud knocking on his front door, startling him. He made his way to the front door, looking through the peephole. Kevin? What was he doing here this late? Or early, he’s not sure what time it is at this point. He opened the door and took a proper look at Kevin. His hair a mess, his eyes puffy, which he assumed Kevin had been crying. He had dark bags under his eyes from what he assumed was from lack of sleep.
“Kevin? What are you doing here? You live, like, 15 minutes away”, Jacob said, confused as to why the younger boy was here. Kevin caught his breath, as if he ran a marathon before he arrived on Jacob’s doorstep.
“C-can I come in?”Kevin stuttered, his eyes welling up with tears. Jacob didn’t even hesitate as he moved aside to let Kevin in, closing the door behind him. They both went into the living room and sat down next to each other, Kevin nervously playing with his fingers, something he usually does when he’s anxious.
“You want to tell me why you’re here at this time? What happened?”Jacob said, his voice gentle and soft, not wanting to make him even more anxious than Kevin already was. Kevin took a moment before he responded, taking a deep breath.
“I had a nightmare about that day, and it really scared me. It’s not the first nightmare I’ve had, but this one really scared me. As soon as I woke up from the nightmare, I didn’t even scream. I was too scared to do anything. I didn’t even bother waking my parents up, I left the house right away and ran all the way here”, Kevin explained, Jacob listening carefully.
Kevin was on the cold concrete floor, trying to crawl away from the two psychopathic killers. He felt himself being grabbed by his ankles, his body being dragged along the floor. He screamed for help, but unfortunately there was no one around to help or save him.
“Shut up, bitch, no one is going to save you so there’s no point in screaming”, Changmin snarled, digging his nails into Kevin’s ankles. He threw Kevin onto his back, looking down at his face. His face was filled with terror, tears streaming down his face.
“You’re supposed to be an fbi agent, not a fucking wimp. Get a grip”, y/n said, walking up to Kevin and grabbing his hair, making him yell. She picked him up by his hair, making him face her. “You know, you have such a pretty face. This is the first time that I don’t want to hurt someone. That’s not like me, is it? Unfortunately, I have to get over that feeling”, y/n fake cried, earning an eye roll from Kevin.
“y/n, if you don’t hurry up, I’ll do it myself”, Changmin rolled his eyes at y/n’s behaviour, earning a hush from her. She continued to take her time, dragging her knife across Kevin’s face, him wincing every now and then as she dug the blade into his skin.
Suddenly, Kevin was ripped out of y/n’s grip and thrown onto the floor, Changming climbing on top of him. A knife was stabbed in his side, a scream leaving him. One stab became two, and then three, and so on. Kevin’s body became lifeless, blood surrounding his body.
“One agent down, one more to go”
“And then after that, I woke up”, Kevin finished telling Jacob his nightmare, tears rolling down his cheeks. Jacob felt empathetic for him, wanting to make all of this go away from him but unfortunately he couldn’t.
“Do you want to stay here tonight? I had a nightmare too and I don’t want to be alone right now. You can use my phone to message your parents to tell them where you are”, Jacob suggested and Kevin smiled, glad that he’s got a friend like Jacob.
-------------------------------
Over the next month or so, both Jacob and Kevin have been talking to a therapist to help them with their issues. Jacob also got prescribed medication to help with the voices in his head and hallucinations, as well as to help with his sleeping.
The medication seemed to be working well for Kevin but, unfortunately for Jacob, the medication worked in the beginning but now they aren’t working very well for him. The hallucinations and voices started getting worse, the nightmares got more frequent, and his sleeping pattern has become fucked up because of that.
One particular evening, Jacob was sitting on the couch, drinking a beer (he knows he shouldn’t, but he didn’t really care at this point). He was just staring at nothing in particular, lost in his own thoughts, which were all negative.
“What’s the point of living if it’s not going to get better?” “you really are a coward, aren’t you?” “just end it all, that’s the only way the hallucinations and voices and nightmares are going to stop” “grow the fuck up, Jacob” “it should have been you that died, not Lisa”
He downed the rest of his beer and put the bottle on the table in front of him. He stood up and walked towards the stairs, until he heard a voice and froze. No, not again, please, he thought to himself as he prepared for another episode of hallucinations.
He turned around and expected to see his deceased wife, but instead, he saw y/n and Changmin. Their faces pale and their eyes sunken into their sockets. They both had a needle sticking out of their arm, fluid being injected into them. Jacob immediately ran away as soon as he saw them, running up the stairs.
“You’re not real!”, he screamed, almost tripping up the stairs. He was about to head into his room until he saw Lisa standing in front of him, trying to talk but struggling as blood was trickling down from where her throat was sliced open. He was screaming through his tears at this point, his mind going into overdrive as it wouldn’t shut up.
The voices started out as talking, but now it’s just constant yelling and shouting, making him cover his ears as he ran past his deceased wife and locked himself in his room. “Shut up!”, he pleaded, wanting all this to end. He locked his eyes on his bedside table, looking at the medication on it.
He walked towards them, grabbing all the medication from the bedside table. He popped a load of pills, putting them in his mouth and took a gulp of water from the water bottle from the table. His stomach started hurting after a few minutes, and he also found himself drifting into unconsciousness. The last thing he heard before everything went black was the sound of someone shouting his name.
-------------------------------
“We’re losing him”
“Keep resuscitating him”
“No pulse”
“Come on kid, don’t you die on me”
“Still no pulse”
Kevin had been sitting in the waiting room for over an hour, along with Jacob’s parents and Dongwook. The moment Jacob wasn’t answering his phone, they knew something was wrong. Along with the neighbours complaining about hearing screaming coming from inside Jacob’s house, they got the call from the police that Jacob needed medical attention.
They were all waiting for the news, hoping it was good news and they managed to save him. But from the amount of pills he took, he was hard to tell. They were all feeling really anxious having to wait for someone, they just wanted to know he was ok.
Kevin was crying silently on the ground, staring at his hands as he picked away at his fingernails. He suddenly felt someone sitting beside him, looking up and seeing Jacob’s mum. Her eyes were bloodshot and lips quivering. They didn’t exchange words but words weren’t needed right now. Without thinking, Jacob’s mum brought Kevin into a hug, wrapping his arms around her as he cried into her.
A few minutes went by, and a nurse walked into the waiting room. Everyone stood up immediately, waiting for the nurse to tell them the news. The nurse just looked at them for a moment, not saying anything. They were getting frustrated but they didn’t want to lash out at the nurse so they just waited for her to talk.
“From the amount of pills he took, he’s lucky someone got to him in time because, any longer, he would have been dead. He’s resting at the moment but you guys can go see him now”, the nurse said and everyone took a breath of relief, glad that he’s still alive.
Jacob’s parents were the first ones to see Jacob, going into his room to see him lying on the hospital bed. Wires hooked up to him, the monitor beeping by his bed. His mum broke down once she saw him, her husband comforting her.
They both waited by his bed, waiting for him to wake up. His mum held his hand, rubbing her thumb over it. She didn’t let go of his hand, even when he woke up. The moment he woke up, he tried lifting his arm up, only to find out that someone was holding his hand. He saw both his parents sitting by his bed, and that’s when he started crying.
“Mom, I’m so sorry”, Jacob cried to his mum, his vision becoming blurry from the tears. His mum shushed him, holding his face in her hands. His dad patted his shoulder gently, something he always did when Jacob was younger, that was his way of saying ‘it’s ok’.
The three of them spoke for a while, Jacob telling them what happened prior to the incident. He mentioned that the medication he was taking did help him in the beginning, but then they stopped working, making the voices and hallucinations worse, making him lose sleep because of that and the nightmares too.
Both of his parents agreed that Jacob needs a different medication, something he should tell the doctors and nurses about. Suddenly there was a knock on the door, all three of them looking at the door to see Kevin poking his head in. As soon as he saw Jacob, he got emotional again.
He walked in with Dongwook, both of them glad to see the boy was awake. Jacob’s parents bid their goodbyes as they left the room, Kevin and Dongwook sitting in the seats his parents were previously sitting in.
They both looked at Jacob, the only source of sound in the room being the beeping from the monitor. Dongwook was the first to speak up.
“So, was this also to do with being stressed and exhausted? Or do you want to tell me the real reason what’s going on?”, Dongwook said, sounding rather annoyed but also worried at the same time. Jacob doesn’t blame him though, he didn’t tell him what happened that day but now he regrets it.
“I’ve been having hallucinations and hearing voices, as well as having nightmares. I keep seeing my dead ex wife, and hearing her voice. I also keep hearing y/n and Changmin’s voices too. It started with the voices and hallucinations, and then the nightmares started. I spoke to a therapist and got prescribed medication to help with them. It did work at first but then, it just gradually got worse. I got negative thoughts going round my head, telling me to end it all and that I’m a coward. I just wanted it all to go away”, Jacob explained, feeling himself about to start crying but stopped himself.
Both Kevin and Dongwook had the same thought as Jacob’s parents and agreed that he needs his medication changed to something stronger, something that will work long term. A doctor suddenly walked in, holding a clipboard.
“Ok Mr.Bae, we just got to run a few more tests, just to be sure there’s nothing damaged internally. Regarding the medication, you’ll need to talk to your local doctor about that and they’ll prescribe you with a different medication for you”, the doctor explained. A part of Jacob was relieved and happy that he was going to get new medication, but the other part of him was worried because, what if the new medication doesn’t work? Then again, he’d rather the new medication make him very tired.
--------------------------------
It’s been a couple of months since the incident, and Jacob managed to get his medication changed. He’s finally starting to get better with the new medication and everyone can see the improvement. The voices and hallucinations have reduced, as well as his nightmares. His sleeping has improved a lot, and he also returned back to work.
His relationship with his parents has gotten better too, spending more time with them and making dinner for them when they’re too tired. Whenever there’s a new case to solve, he doesn’t get obsessed like he was with the y/n and Changmin case. His bills have also been paid too, which he is really happy with, now he doesn’t have to worry about money anymore.
His whole life is now back on track, less worries on his mind and a positive mindset. Yeah, he may still have the odd bad episode, but they’re not as bad as they used to be. He doesn’t shut himself away, he talks to people instead of isolating himself. He’s really happy to be back to normal and continue working as an fbi agent, and helping other people.

jacob elordi and yn make valentine's dinner | vogue
Tumblr media
MASTERLIST | MY PATREON
"Hi Vogue, It's Jacob," he greeted the camera, he was wearing a simple white t-shirt and jeans but looked absolutely dreamy, "And today I'm cooking a special Valentine's dinner for my girlfriend YN."
You smiled at him from the side of your kitchen, ready for him to introduce you.
"She's actually here to help me," that was your cue to walk into the frame, he pulled you by the waist and you grabbed the side of his face gently and pecked his lips, "She cannot cook to save her life," he spoke to the camera again, "So my role in the relationship is basically to be her personal chef."
"Okay, cut the sass," you chimed in, "Let's do it, what are we making today?"
"We're making a heart shaped pizza, since It's Valentine's day, then we're making espresso martinis, and a chocolate lava cake to top it off."
"Sounds delicious," you said, "Perks of having Jacob Elordi as your boyfriend, he grabs the stuff from the top shelves for you and he cooks a full course meal."
Jacob winked at you and then to the camera, then the crew stepped in to give you everything you needed for your dish.
"Right so we're gonna start off by making the pizza dough," Jacob began, "We need flour, oil, water, sugar, salt and instant yeast."
"And of course, a good looking sous chef," you teased, batting your eyelashes at the camera.
"That you are," Jacob pecked your cheek, "Now, sous chef, we need two cups,"
"Of this?" you pointed to the flour bowl.
"Yes," he put the ingredient on the mixer, "Two teaspoons of sugar,"
"I'll do that one," you grabbed the small bowl that contained what you thought was the sugar, and Jacob abruptly stopped you.
"No, love, that's the salt."
"Well dammit," you quickly put the bowl down, "Can we cut that part?" you told the crew and they laughed, Jacob just pinched your side affectionately.
"Let me add the ingredients into the mixer and you can help me pour the water, okay?"
Jacob put everything that was needed on the mixer and you slowly poured the water as the machine started working.
"So this is starting to come together now," Jacob spoke to the camera, "Just need it to turn up the heat a little bit," he said playfully and winked at the camera.
"You did not just say that."
"I did just say that," he winked at you now, "Now help me put the oil on."
You did as he said, pouring the oil on the mixture and then covering it with plastic foil.
"We need to put it in the fridge for two hours so it can rise,"
"I feel like Martha Stewart," you put a hand on your hip, "This is like, my dream."
The video showed a time lapse indicating that two hours had passed and it was time to get the dough out of the fridge.
"So Jacob is getting the dough out of the fridge," you explained to the camera, "And we're going to make two separate pizzas to see which one turns out the best."
"Are we actually gonna cut the heart?" Jacob approached you with the bowl, "But it looks so pretty, love."
"Sorry, I'm going to break your heart today on Valentine's day."
"Jesus," Jacob's eyes widened, "So this has been chilling for two hours, and now we have to make it look like a heart.
"Okay, move aside," you moved Jacob's hand away from the dough and he laughed, "This would be easier with a rolling pin but okay."
"So to do the heart shape we need scissors," he sad after carefully folding the dough in half, "Try it, love."
"Like you do with a card, right?" Jacob gave you a confused look, "A Valentine's day card."
"Just don't cut the whole pizza in half," you rolled your eyes at him, "I'm not judging your cooking abilities, love. Just guiding you through the process."
"Just go get the ceramic pizza stone and let's get this in the oven."
"We need to put on the ingredients first, don't we?" Jacob raised his eyebrows
"Oh you're right," you grabbed a bowl with tomato sauce, "So I'm going to cover the whole thing, just leaving space for the crust," you poured the sauce with a spoon, "Am I overdoing this?" you asked your boyfriend.
"No, you like it, like a lot of tomato, don't you?", you nodded, "Just spread it out a little bit," you did as he said, "It's perfect babe, well done."
"We're diving this," you signaled with your hands, "This is your territory and this is mine.
"Okay but let's not cut it, because then that's like cutting the heart and that's sad."
The crew asked you to describe a romantic moment as you decorated your pizza, and Jacob was the first one to speak.
"She is really romantic," he said as he peeled an onion, "The other day when we got back from New York she planted this cute, like herb garden outside on our patio and we had a picnic there, it was lovely."
"One of the most romantic things Jacob has ever done for me was when he surprised me with a spontaneous road trip to a secluded cabin in the mountains," you added, sprinkling shredded mozzarella cheese on your side of the pizza. "He had everything planned out, a cozy fireplace, a bottle of wine, and a clear view of the starlit sky. It was incredibly romantic."
"Yeah, that was a special trip," Jacob smiled at you, his eyes soft at the memory, as he arranged slices of pepperoni on his half of the pizza, "She was freezing so we cuddled a lot, that was nice."
You finished up your pizza and Jacob carefully placed it on the heated oven, then the crew got everything ready to star with your dessert.
"Alright, so we're making the chocolate lava cake," Jacob clasped his hands together, "Do you think you can do it, babe?
"Let's do it!"
You and Jacob followed the recipe for the cake, you helped him pour the eggs and mix the ingredients together, earning compliments from him about your cooking skills improving.
"So now, these," Jacob grabbed the tray with the two small chocolate cakes, "Which YN just poured very perfectly, are going in the oven for about 12 minutes at 450.
You closed the oven and the final thing to prepare for your menu was your drinks, the espresso martini.
"So we're going to make the espresso martini, the virgin espresso martini," Jacob said to the camera, "Because this one is on a non alcohol diet."
"You gotta keep the system healthy!"
Jacob poured all the ingredients into the drink mixer and moved it up and down, his biceps twitching at the movement.
"I'm impressed," you said as he poured down the drink in your glasses, "That was sexy, baby."
"Thanks, glad to know," Jacob winked at you, "Cheers," he handed your glass, you clicked it with his and sipped at the drink, "This is pretty good, let's take it to the table."
You moved to the table, where you pizza and cakes were perfectly placed along with some lit up candles and flowers for decoration.
"This looks amazing," you said as you looked at the food in front of you.
"Looks nice, doesn't it?" Jacob took the seat in front of you, "My side of the pizza looks nicer."
"No," you said with a serious tome but then your eyes softened, "Happy Valentine's day, baby."
"Happy Valentine's day," he smiled fondly at you, "You happy? You like this?"
"Yeah, I love it," you squeezed your hand quickly, "Can we start eating?"
You ate your dinner, bantering about which side of the pizza was better and which one of you had been the better chef, even though there were cameras and crew around, it felt like an intimate moment between the two of you.
"Here, try the dessert," Jacob said once you were done with your pizza, spoon feeding you a bite, "It's good, isn't it?"
"So good, I'm such a chocolate lover," you said, "I feel like I was great help to you in the kitchen, what do you say?"
"Really good help," he took a spoonful of the cake, "Best looking osus chef ever."
"Thank you, I really appreciate that," you squeezed his hand again, "I really tried for you today."
"Yeah, cause usually I make her a drink and she just watches me cook," he told the camera, "She's obsessed with me, can't take her eyes off."
"Cheers babe, I love you," you ignored his comment and raised your drink, "happy Valentine's day,
"Happy Valentine's day,"
"I'm going for it," you said as you rose from your seat, "Why do I always am eager to be the kisser?"
"She just wants to kiss me so bad," he stood from his seat and placed a kiss to your lips, "Love you."
