I genuinely loved this film.
The economy is shit, and going to the cinema is my one last luxury in life, so the fact that this was good made me so, so happy.
Kenneth Branagh always makes me feel slightly uneasy because of how well he played Mr. Neville/Devil in Rabbit Proof Fence, but I think it’s safe to say he has successfully re-written himself in my mind as Poirot ✨
I am still relatively new to watching films for Directors, and it’s wild looking through his work, realising how much I’ve actually seen, and how much I’ve missed.
His 2015 Cinderella helped piece my heart back together at 21, along with Sonam Kapoor’s (Shashanka Ghosh’s) Khoobsurat, but that’s a whole other thing.
Anyway, if you can, go watch - it’s exactly what you want it to be.
Or, wait until it’s on streaming and watch with friends because it’s goood. It’s exactly what you want it to be.

Kenneth Branagh's 3rd Hercule Poirot movie is coming!
Branagh is back starring as detective Hercule Poirot and returns as director for A Haunting in Venice from 20th Century Studios.
This time around, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Michelle Yeoh, Jude Hill and Kelly Reilly have been recruited for the all-star ensemble, with Emma Laird, Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Ali Khan and Riccardo Scamarico also on the call sheet. Their character names have yet to be revealed.
Production is set to begin October 31 2022, Halloween Day, which is fitting since Haunting is inspired by the 1969 Christie novel, Hallowe'en Party.
That story saw the mystery set in motion when a 13-year old girl, who claimed she witnessed a murder when she was younger, is found dead in an apple-bobbing tub. The studio described the adaptation, written by Michael Green, as an "unsettling supernatural-thriller" and shared its logline: "Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world's most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets."
"This is a fantastic development of the character Hercule Poirot, as well as the Agatha Christie franchise," said Branagh in a statement. "Based on a complex, little known tale of mystery set at Halloween in a pictorially ravishing city, it is an amazing opportunity for us, as filmmakers, and we are relishing the chance to deliver something truly spine-chilling for our loyal movie audiences."
Judy Hofflund is back as a producer. Exec producers include Louise Killin and James Prichard, along with filmmakers Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg and Mark Gordon.

EDEN LAKE- 2008 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tumblr media
Jenny (Kelly Reilly) and Steve (Michael Fassbender) go on a romantic getaway but are terrorised endlessly by a savage gang of teens...
Horrible, brutal film. Quite scary but also very unpleasant.
Kelly Reilly is brilliant. Would like her in more horror films.

Summary: A town in rural France is threatened by a mysterious supernatural creature. Pathologist John McBride (Boyd Holbrook) arrives to investigate and help defend the town against it.
Atmospheric slow-burner that wasn’t actually that scary. Excellent gore effects and creature design, decent English accent from Holbrook.
Rating: 3.5/5

"Promises captures the chaos of a broken heart in a language that is lyrical and languorous. Don’t look for easy solutions in this film to the conundrum of the heart. Promises will frustrate and anger you. It will also leave you deeply moved. It is what good films are supposed to do."

For people who are excited for the new Sims 4 horse ranch pack, I recommend watching Yellowstone if you want to get into the vibe!
(it’s a good show with Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly & Kelsey Asbille)
