During my "big cat" period, I was supposed to have drawn King Moonracer from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer each year for Christmas. ...I only managed two. This here is essentially Moonracer's future queen. I forget what exactly led to the idea (or much else about it for that matter), but my mom came up with it, I think probably in response to his disappointing portrayal in the 2001 sequel Island of Misfit Toys, where he's afraid of dentists. I drew it on some nice old red construction paper. Seasonally appropriate I think.

I subscribe to the theory that he's real. He looks awfully big to be a toy, and he doesn't look particularly toy-like (or at least no more toy-like than Rudolph and the other non-toy characters do).
