How did they handle things when Eddie was touring often? Not with regards to Steve's health, just in regards to being so grossly in love, keeping the spark alive, keeping the pain of long distance to a minimum etc 🥺
By phone!
Touring was rough for both of them.
It was really the first time that they’d been away from each other since Vecna and the Upside Down, and they weren’t prepared for how difficult it would be.
Luckily, they were both pretty busy at the time. Eddie was taking the stage every other night, sighing autographs and doing interviews, and they partied a lot. Steve was a full time student, working part-time, and was still driving the kids around.
But every night, Eddie always called and Steve always answered.
Eddie swore that he alone kept the pay phone industry in business during this time because quarter after quarter, they’d talk until his bus driver threatened to leave for the next show without him or until Steve fell asleep. They talked about big things and simple things, and it was just nice to hear the others voice.
It was better when the band would stay overnight in a hotel (which didn’t happen often). There’s a home video that the guys filmed where they were doing mock interviews in prep for their MTV interview the next day. In the background, Eddie’s on the phone, chain smoking with the softest look on his face. You can hear him say, “They play volleyball on a beach, in jean shorts. Then what?”
Steve tried to send Eddie flowers at every stop of the tour, but it nearly bankrupts him. Eddie tells him that it’s sweet but there’s no way he can keep bringing them on the bus without Gareth having a full-on asthma attack. Steve started writing letters instead but it was pretty hit or miss if Eddie would get them.
The biggest difficulty was just not knowing. Sometimes Eddie wasn’t in a place where he couldn’t call or sometimes it was so late that Steve was asleep or he wasn’t home. Sometimes when Eddie could call, Steve was in class or at work. Sometimes they’d fight and that fight would have to hang in the air until the next time they had time to talk.
It was frustrating and it was lonely, but there wasn’t a lot that they could do about it until the band came close enough that Steve and their friends could drive out to see them.

Thinking about the way that women help each other in legally blonde. Thinking about how Vivian is a bitch as a defense mechanism. Thinking about pink. Thinking about Elle’s relationship with Paulette. Thinking about the sacred bond of sisterhood. Thinking about Vivians reaction to Elle’s assault. Thinking about showing all shades of women. Thinking about Brooke. Thinking about how Chutney was just a young girl who hated the stranger in her home pretending to be her mother. Thinking about Elle naming her chihuahua Bruiser. Thinking about Elle’s sympathy as a strength, not a weakness. Thinking about legally blonde.

Inspired by the genre of drawings illustrating what Pizza Tower would look like as a nineties cartoon, I wanted to throw my bow into the ring and draw an animation cel of what Star Tower would look like as a late eighties cartoon! ⭐👾✨

This unique character in a scifi has a transfigured and uncanny appearence and the story hinges on the tradegy that unfolds when only two people on opposite sides of a conflict can actually treat it with any kindness and respect.
But well.... we decided that was kinda ableist cause the ables were being meannnnn and the character is UGLY and CHILDLIKE so instead when we revisted it we made HER pretty and she had just like scifi autism [which ONLY presents socially it would NEVER effect someones appearence or GAIT]
You understand im killing you with knives yes?

Argh. If I hear one more character invoke the name of Byron with regards to the Eighth Doctor I won’t be responsible for my actions.
He doesn’t look like Byron - if anything Eight’s initial appearance has more shades of Oscar Wilde - and he certainly doesn’t behave like Bryon (thank God). I forget where it originated (possibly with the EDAs) but I can only assume that somewhere along the line the term ‘Byronic’ got confused with the man himself, or at least his appearance. Yes, Eight has the traits of a Byronic hero at times (brooding, melancholy, having a light and a dark side) but that’s a different thing entirely. Calling his younger self ‘Lord Byron’ purely because of the way he looks has become a lazy cliche that I wish would disappear because it’s not even remotely accurate.

From 7 March to 16 July 2023, the Palais Galliera is organising an exhibition focusing on the year 1997, a watershed year in the history of contemporary fashion. 1997 was both a high point of 1990s fashion and the gateway to the new millennium. It brought a flurry of collections, shows, new appointments, openings and events that defined the fashion scene as we know it today. Such was its impact that 1997 can be thought of as the launching pad for 21st century fashion. 1997 was notable for a number of emblematic collections: bodies deformed by Comme des Garçons with the Body Meets Dress, Dress Meets Body collection, Martin Margiela’s conceptualised garments in the Stockman collection, and Raf Simons’s redefinition of the canons of male beauty in the Black Palms collection. The magazine Vogue Paris defined the 1997 Spring-Summer haute couture season as the ‘Big Bang’ that Paris needed in order to regain its place as the international capital of fashion in an era of economic crisis and intense global competition. But there’s no denying that 1997 was a vintage year. It saw the arrival in haute couture of star designers from the 1980s, such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Thierry Mugler, while the legendary French fashion houses were taken over by a new generation of British designers, with Alexander McQueen at Givenchy and John Galliano at Christian Dior.
The globalisation of fashion gathered pace, foreshadowing the 2000s and 2010s. Young, little-known artistic directors rose to prominence, either on their own or at the head of major fashion houses: Hedi Slimane, Stella McCartney, Nicolas Ghesquière, Olivier Theyskens – names that are still shaping fashion today. A whole series of events marked the beginning of the new era: the concept store Colette opened and stayed at the epicentre of fashion for the next 20 years. But also, that same year, the world of fashion was shaken by the tragic death of Gianni Versace. The chronological layout of the exhibition features over 50 silhouettes from the Palais Galliera collections, along with loans from museums and international collectors and fashion houses. And it also includes videos and some outstanding archive documents. The exhibition 1997 Fashion Big Bang is an invitation to discover or to relive key events from this ‘explosive’ year in fashion history.

Small Useless Headcanon:
G1!Jazz absolutely taught himself to dance from watching Michael Jackson's MTV music videos back in the 80's. He would have gone out into the forest, and taught himself over, and over, and over until he could get it just right.
His favorite songs include: Thriller, Billie Jean, Ghosts, Black and White, and Can't get Enough.
Though, he'll rip up some Madonna and share up hair bands with Blaster.
