I’m on my (third?) watch of Agents of Shield, currently on 2x08, The Things We Bury. And it just occurred to me how good the parallel stories are in this episode in particular, all centering around the title.

(This breakdown got a lot more in-depth than I was expecting, so I’m putting the rest under a cut)

Storyline 1: the backstory of Daniel Whitehall. Shortly after finding a person (Jiaying) who can survive contact with the Obelisk, Whitehall and his men are captured by the Allied forces (as seen in 2x01). After being interrogated by Peggy Carter, Whitehall is consigned to a Shield prison for life. But that is not his end - HYDRA members release him from prison decades later, where he can continue his research on the Obelisk, experiment on Jiaying, and work his way to the position he holds in HYDRA in the modern day.

Whitehall: We could learn so much together.

Peggy: Instead we’ll forget. Forget you, forget your work. When I leave no one else will come. No one to hear your stories, study your deadly artifacts. You’ll be buried.

Whitehall: I seriously doubt that. Nothing stays buried forever.

Storyline 2: Grant Ward kidnaps his older brother Christian to have an emotional confrontation about their abusive past. They go to the site of the well (from episode 1x08), where Grant forces Christian to unearth it. The entire time, the brothers accuse each other of gaslighting and manipulation, blaming the other for the events of that day. Once the well is revealed, Grant threatens Christian until his brother confesses to forcing Grant during the incident at the well. The storyline ends with a news story reporting the deaths of Christian and his parents.

Christian: The well. You still blame me for the well. We both know that it was you who nearly killed Thomas down there.

Grant: Do you sleep better telling yourself that?

Christian: You know, I don’t know what crazy lies that you have built up all these years, but the well doesn’t even exist anymore. It’s gone. Mom and Dad buried it.

Grant: (pause) Oh, no. They just covered it up.

Storyline 3: the search for the alien city. Taking inspiration from Fury, Coulson decides to one-up HYDRA by putting in place a series of dominoes that will gain him access to a satellite. This allows the team to locate the alien city,

Coulson: We may actually have a shot at finding the city.

Skye: Are you sure it’s something you wanna dig up?

Coulson: If we don’t, HYDRA will. We need to get there first.

I just love the juxtaposition between the three storylines! From figurative digging into Bakshi and archived Shield files in storyline 1, to literal digging in storyline 2, to the city in storyline 3 being underground, all are about the things that get buried (hence the title) but not destroyed. Usually “bury” implies a final ending, as in burying a body, but this episode shows that buried is not the same as forgotten.

Daniel Whitehall is able to gain a new life and new identity. The well is unearthed and the Ward brothers’ past is laid bare. The alien city, which was lost for thousands of years, is discovered. And to dig more into storyline 1, Whitehall’s background in 2x08 teases parts of Skye’s background - more past which was buried (redacted by Shield) that is now being revealed. Jiaying’s barely-living body is dumped in a ditch in lieu of a burial, and in 2B we learn she was nursed back to health. The buried live once more.

Season 2A is all about the past coming back in full force to influence the present, and this episode is chock-full of that theme. More specifically, parts of the past that were supposed to be hidden or forgotten, parts which are demanding themselves to be known again.

This right here is the Good Shit™️, aka my favorite part of this show, and I’m so fucking pumped!

Summary:

Sun Wukong (Stephen Chow) escorted Tang Sanzang (Luo Jiaying) to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures. On the way, he conspired with the Bull Demon King to kill Tang Sanzang and stole the Moonlight Treasure Box. This move made Guanyin want to eradicate him. Despite Tang Sanzang's request, Sun Wukong was sentenced to death. Five hundred years later, he was reincarnated as a human being to atone for his sins.

Five hundred years later, Sun Wukong transformed into the robber leader Supreme Treasure /Joker. When he met the monster sisters Spider Jingchun Sansanniang (Lan Jieying) and the Bone Demon Bai Jingjing (Mok Wenwei) who planned to eat Tang Monk's flesh, because Sun Wukong had a relationship with Bai Jingjing five hundred years ago, Joker fell in love with her at first sight, but due to the old Bodhi Zu told the identity of the two monsters, and Zhizunbao still led the bandits to start dealing with the two monsters.

In the process, Bai Jingjing injured Chun Sananniang to save Joker, and she was also poisoned and injured. In order to save Bai Jingjing, Joker went to find Chun Sanniang was misunderstood by Bai Jingjing and committed suicide in despair. Joker began to use the Moonlight Box in the hope of turning back time.

I know I'm kind of a bit late, I just found out anti tags are actually a thing. I just wanted to say that I love Fitz but at the same time I don't (for obvious reasons) and I wish his stans would actually stop using him being sick as an excuse. Like sure that was bad and he really needs professional help but given their situation at that moment they couldn't, and I'm pretty sure his stans are forgetting that he said he doesn't regret doing it and to mention, he wasn't having a psychotic break when he said that.

And also I'm sick and tired of people siding with Fitz when he said "do you want me to recall all the times that you did?" Like, the times where Daisy "turned her back against them" was because she was manipulated and swayed and she "left them" because maybe she thought that was safer for them. (Don't forget she was having suicidal thoughts and was having withdrawal from Hive)

Like sir??? Turn her back against them??? What about all the times when you ALMOST GOT DAISY KILLED??? (When Fitz jumped into the monolith for an example)

Also I'm kinda pissed that no one went on to comfort Daisy, hell not even Jemma. She only cares if Fitzsimmons are still together or not

I still love the Bus Kids but I deserve the fitzdaisy closure. They could make a whole episode about fitzsimmons in s6 but couldn't for fitzdaisy.

Hey nonnie! See I used to love Fitz too. But it was with the assumption that he isn't perfect and lately his behaviour with the team has been getting problematic and that most fans realise that.

Finding out they don't was an experience.

I actually came across a thread on reddit a while back where they were hailing the "do you want me to recall all the times that you did" as such a gotcha against Daisy. And then listing all the times that "she turned her back on them". Which consisted of her trying to help Miles in season 1 (the guy she obviously knew longer and she didn't owe them anything at that point, moreover she turned against him when she realised what he'd done), her siding with Jiaying (completely ignoring the fact that her mom who she had been looking for forever manipulated and lied to her and that SHIELD themselves blindsided her by sending Gonzalez when they were actually expecting Coulson, and still she saw through it all and chose to fight her mother), that time she was under Hive's sway (I don't think I need to elaborate on this), that time she went rogue in s04 (once again not caring that she was grieving Lincoln's death and was freshly free of mind control, lost and suicidal and needed help, not a yelling).

And not to mention that not once did she do anything remotely similar to ambushing a member of the team, strapping them to a table and cutting into them. False equivalencies much?

For a show that's all about empowered women, they not only let a white man get away with violating an Asian woman, but also let him flip the story, discredit her as a victim. These tactics are what domestic abusers use. They make their victim feel as if what happened to them was their own fault. So guess Fitz is a classic abuser now. Good luck with that Jemma.

But hey the fans have decided that Fitz can do no wrong, and the show creators have a huge part to play in that. So really at this point I am not even sure who pisses me off more, the fandom or Whedon and Maurissa.

But honestly I wish I had interacted with fans like you instead of the raging a-holes who were bitching about Daisy being a hardass to Fitz. So thank you for the ask, and for giving me your very nuanced take on the whole thing.

I’m rewatching Agents of Shield and here is list of things I genuinely forgot happened:

season two:

- trip had different theories about the koenig brothers

- a piece of metal turned back into creel’s literal flesh and blood right in front of may and fitz

- ward was hurting himself while he was locked up in the shield basement

- mack was so supportive of fitz even in the beginning of the season and wanted so badly to help and befriend him

- hunter tried to legit fight creel with only his fists like an idiot (fondly)

- he also insisted that hartley get a proper burial

- this is kinda season one and two but raina knew daisy’s dad and worked with him

- donnie gill shows up more than once

- coulson made simmons food when he visited her while she was undercover with hydra

- fitz had no idea where simmons went :(

- donnie was brainwashed by hydra

- daisy shot donnie

- ward’s brother was a senator

- jiaying was taken by whitehall like right before red skull fell

- agent 33 was working with whitehall

- the “city” made mack the equivalent of their guard dog

- mack thought trip traded his life for daisy and was angry with the team after his death

- daisy started showing signs of her powers during that argument

- coulson and may’s car got hit by a truck while transferring bakshi

- may and coulson were so concerned for daisy when the base started shaking

- fitz lied to simmons about daisy’s dna (said it was a simulation he was running)

- mack and bobbi immediately lept into action when fitz said sif and the kree guy was trying to take daisy away

- daisy shot herself with an icer when sif was trying to take her

- i completely forgot the whole second shield thing happened with mack and bobbi

- fitz made daisy watch paranormal activity

- simmons was a total badass when bobbi stole fury’s toolbox

- simmons switched the real toolbox with a fake and gave the real one to fitz

- andrew and may had plans to try for kids before she left for bahrain

- “what did you do?” - gordon. “science biatch” - fitz

- daisy told may that she wouldn’t hesitate when going against jiaying

- daisy indirectly caused the whole fish oil causing terragenesis thing

- coulson was accepting that he was going to die and mack was just like “no” and chopped his hand off

- cal literally killed jiaying by breaking most of her bones

Long story short, i didn’t remember season 2 as well as i thought

Synopsis: Li JiaYing has never felt lonely until she listened to a song that she related to. It was something that her boyfriend, Minghao had sent her. It was rough being apart but it was something that they had to go through together if they wanted the relationship as much as they said they wanted it.

Li JiaYing has been away from Minghao for about six months now they have been living away from each other because of his idol life. JiaYing has been living in China ever since her work told her to travel there for a while and normally JiaYing doesn’t feel sad or lonely but that’s only because she did not have the time to feel a lot of negative emotions. 

One night, JiaYing was on the phone with Minghao. He was telling her about their tour that was going to happen soon but as JiaYing didn't hear China being one of the countries they were stopping in then she felt hopeless. Minghao didn't really notice how she was feeling so JiaYing ended the call on him. She went to lay in bed and she ended up crying herself to sleep. 

When she woke up the next morning she saw a voicemail from Minghao. “Hey love, I'm sorry for making you upset last night I did not want to make you sad and I know that you wanted to come see me perform because its been awhile. I love you. I also sent you a song that should make you feel better.” 

JiaYing got out of bed and she got ready for her day. Luckily she had the day off but Minghao did not get the day off, so she just sent a quick good morning text to Minghao. She opened up the youtube link that led her to the song that he sent her last night, the chorus started and that's what got to her the most. She was in the middle of brushing her teeth and she started to cry, she quickly finished up getting ready and the song was on replay. She sat on the couch with a blanket wrapped around her and she heard a knock on the door and it was Minghao. 

“You came,” she wrapped her arms around his neck and he picked her up by the waist and spun her around. That day was actually their anniversary for a whole year, so it just made it a lot better that she was with him for a whole week.

Beijing Bio² Innovation Center by THAD x Jinhe Design Agency

Beijing Bio² Innovation Center is initiated by BIO2 Biopharmaceutical Technology Industry Operations Limited Company. Located in the Zhongguancun Life Science Park，With a total construction area of 12,845 ㎡, THAD Jinhe was responsible for the spatial experience planning and interior design for it.

The center aims to become a professional platform for the rapid commercialization of technology innovation and incubation of projects in the life science industry.

The site used to have poor conditions characterized by low ceilings and limited space. In addition, the public area is small, the column spacing is narrow, the space utilization rate is low, and the vertical transport system is non-existent. The design strategy is intended to build a new type of versatile office space by improving the original building structure, establishing a vertical transport system, and achieving functional area division.

Space Restructuring:  Connection, Transport, Structural Combinations

The restructured space has shifted its design focus from functionality and aesthetics to empowerment. The rearranged functional areas allow for a vertical transport system, and the irregularly shaped staircase installation provides stronger connection, which accentuates the social and community nature of the space.

With curves adding more complexity, the space has stricken a balance among connection, encirclement, and independence.

Model Reconstruction:  Communication, Interaction, and Collaboration within a Community

The space is divided into "communities" with each having its own functions, including small workstations, meeting rooms, roadshow zone, training rooms, coffee shop, and brainstorming areas.

Thanks to the vertical transport, users can move freely within the versatile space of "community" for concentration, collaboration, learning, and social networking. The integration between individuals and groups, openness and closedness as well as digital collaboration are achieved.

The community-like space is designed for work, creation, communication, and leisure, where people gather for the collision of ideas and activate a community culture unique to the unconventional space Bio².

The office space is divided into different areas by color. The placement of a movable screen grants the adjustment of space area according to the number of users. Such arrangement will ensure efficiency and privacy and unleash more possibilities for the growth of startup companies.

For Jinhe Design Agency, Bio² is dedicated to maximizing the value of businesses and their brands through correct design strategies and scientific construction methods. The design concept is represented from start to finish and the space boundaries are redefined. It is all this that makes what Bio² is. Going forward, the space will become a community for the biomedicine industry, and usher in a brighter future of the industry with flexibility, efficiency, and innovation.

Other changes I have made was adding lens flares to the headlights which brings this image to life and connects directly to Todd Hido’s images that show isolated suburban homes at night from the outside with windows glowing and with no discernible details of the interior visible making them feel still and quiet yet unsettling. This is why I have darkened the windows of the car making it look like it has ‘tint’ so you cannot see much detail inside the car. The headlights act as the ‘windows glowing’ in Hido’s images. For some smaller details as well, I decided to add cracks to the windshield of the car to add to the atmosphere of making the scene uncomfortable and uneasy.

Making packaging materials recyclable

If it is up to UT-Ph.D. student Jiaying Li, we will no longer have a 'silver' layer in food packages like crisps bags. In her latest publication, she describes a relatively easy method to create recyclable coatings for food packages. Her research paves the way for food packages that—given the right conditions—can be recycled in water. She recently published her work in the scientific journal ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces.

If you're a potato crisps lover, you've probably noticed that most crisps bags have a 'silver' inner layer. While not really silver, but aluminum-based, this layer protects the crisps from oxygen in the air, preserving their crunchiness and preventing it from going bad. However, this layer makes it incredibly hard to recycle the bag. This is why most crisps bags end up incinerated, on landfills or in nature.

Multi-layered problem

The thin layer of packaging is actually multi-layered, existing of different materials—each with their own function—laminated together. These layers are hard to separate, making them difficult to recycle. Li is working on a solution in which the multiple materials are replaced by a single layer that performs more than one functionalities in order to reduce the number of layers. "This is already possible with polymers, but traditional polymers are hard to recycle and only soluble in organic solvents", explains Li.

Another update on/snippet of Field Trips with Wei Wuxian

I finally reorganized the scenes yay. Once again went over the predicted word count but at this point I'd be worried if I didn't.

It’s lunch again, and Wei Wuxian decides that if he’s going to be put with the kids, then he might as well bully them into doing what he wants.

Meals have been silent so far, because the little disciples all silently sit in rows, sometimes nervously glancing at him, and Wei Wuxian has no one to bother while he dumps hot chili oil on his food. Sometimes the Lan disciple nearest to him sneezes when the ground spices are too much. But they all finish quickly and rush out of the building, speedwalking past him with barely enough time for a polite acknowledgement.

Today Wei Wuxian rests his chin in one hand, idly watching the first of the Lan disciples set down their chopsticks, and decides that it’s time for a little fun. He’s long since finished his allotted amount of food. The Lans probably have a rule against wasting food, but there’s a fat pile of vegetables left on Wei Wuxian’s plate and no one’s yelled at him about it.

“Hey,” Wei Wuxian says, when the first Lan disciple pauses to acknowledge him on the way out. “What’s your name?”

The poor kid freezes, and Wei Wuxian almost feels bad. “This one is Li Qiang, courtesy Huizhong, Head Disciple Jiang,” he says, bobbing his head nervously.

“Li Huizhong,” Wei Wuxian muses. “Tell me, what are you disciples doing after lunch?”

Wei Wuxian asks because he knows from his experience as a guest disciple that the disciples have a one hour break for lunch before their afternoon studies, and the disciples before him have spent about twenty minutes eating lunch in their haste to get away.

Li Huizhong’s eyes dart to the side, where the line of Lan disciples has been held up, waiting for Wei Wuxian to release this kid from conversation. None of them make a sound. “W-well we have a bit of leisure time. Temporarily.”

“Great!” Wei Wuxian says brightly. “So you have time to come with me.”

“We have afternoon classes,” Li Huizhong says hurriedly.

“Oh, you won’t miss them,” Wei Wuxian says, waving away his concern. “C’mon, I promise, it won’t take long. I just want to show you guys something. It’ll be fun!”

Li Huizhong and his fellow disciples look unconvinced.

“Don’t you have to respect and listen to your elders or whatever?” Wei Wuxian asks. Li Huizhong nods reluctantly. “That’s me!” Wei Wuxian says proudly. “So you have to listen to me. And I say we go on a field trip!”

The disciples all look amongst each other, and then at one who appears to be the eldest among them. Her forehead ribbon’s blue embroidery marks her as a member of the Lan clan, but not of the inner family. She nods slowly, and Wei Wuxian springs to his feet.

“Alright then! Don’t you Lans have a walking formation? Go on, chop chop, we haven’t got all day!”

The little Lans all shuffle into two lines, behind the eldest and Li Huizhong.

“What’s your name?” Wei Wuxian asks the girl.

She bows politely. “This one is Lan Jiaying.”

“Lan Jiaying,” Wei Wuxian repeats. “We’re going to have fun today, Lan Jiaying." He whirls around. "Onwards!”

Because I’m still seeing this in 2020, Daisy “turning on her own” (as Fitz put it) wouldn’t be considered true betrayals if you actually analyzed the circumstances. These are the following instances that people use as betrayals by Daisy:

1.) Season one with the Rising Tide. First of all, she was NOT a shield agent yet. She believed her boyfriend (of many years probably) was in the right and she was trying to protect him. The moment she found out that he lied to her, she did turn on her own (the rising tide) to help shield. She wasn’t a shield agent yet. She was raised and taught not to trust them. She clearly learned given the fact that a few episodes later, she became a shield agent.

2.) Season two with Afterlife and Jiaying. How can you “turn on your own” if your own turned on you first? Did you forget that Shield ordered agents to hunt her through the woods? Or that one of the agents shot her with real bullets to try to kill her? Even afterwards she tried everything to get to shield and help them despite the people in Afterlife not wanting her to. She put her trust in shield, and even though Jiaying was the one to start the fight, Daisy hadn’t yet seen anything bad from her. Why would she believe that her mother, who treated her well was the one in the wrong, if she was told that the man who ordered for her to be hunted shot her mother? She had every reason to believe her mother and not believe the “new real shield”. Not to mention, why would she believe shield, people who saw her as a monster that needed fixing instead of the people who welcomed her and are like her? People who just wanted to be safe and live freely? And again, the moment she learned what Jiaying was planning, she planned to stop her while helping shield.

3.) Being brainwashed and forced to do something without her consent or will does not count as betrayal.

4.) When she asked Hive to take her back. I already addressed this here but I’ll repeat. When she went back to Hive and asked him to take her back, it wasn’t because she was evil, or a traitor, or didn’t care anymore. They literally explained it. The brainwash was like a drug, and her time in the containment module was like withdrawal. It would literally make it’s victims (in this case Daisy) feel as if they needed to be controlled by Hive, even afterwards. She was not in a good mental state. She was suffering, and suicidal, and withdrawing. It’s like she was drawn to him. if you can’t sympathize with that, then please don’t interact.

5.) leaving shield. Okay, deciding to stop working at the place where you lost a man you loved does not mean you’re turning on the people you’re working with. What the hell kind of mentality is that?  Say it with me: Needing space and time to grieve away from the people you know is not a betrayal. Not to mention, she thought leaving shield would be the best way to protect her team. She thought she was too dangerous to stay with them. She was literally suffering and grieving and suicidal. And it’s not like she was working against shield. She was fighting the watchdogs to protect inhumans. You’re telling me if Fitz lost Jemma, and decided to leave shield and work at a local lab, he’s betraying shield? gtfo.

What happened to caring about mental illness? Oh wait, that only applies to when it’s a white male character, my bad.

19. S.T.A.K.E. BASE (LOCATION: CLASSIFIED)

Wanda, Daisy, Robbi and Ash waited in the lounge of S.T.A.K.E base. They were intrigued and scared by the secret base. They passed the time by looking around the room. The room was casual; two sets of sofas have been pulled together to one corner of the room. Near the wall a fridge was place. On the other side, few chairs were scattered around.  The brick walls were not painted over. The symbol of the organisation adored the center of the wall.

Coulson walked into the room and looked at the young people in front of him. He was angry and it clearly showed in his face. None the less he maintained a calm voice as he spoke.

“Anyone care to explain what you were doing?”

All the four started talking at the same time. They talked over each other to be heard.

“Daisy” Coulson stated, looking at her.

“We were just looking for some antiques to buy and got lost.” 

“Do you have any idea how reckless your actions are?”

Coulson’s face remained stoic even though he knew it was a lie. Before Daisy to build up more lies Wanda cut in.

“We wanted to act in time. There was no one in the city we could ask for help. We did what we thought was right.”

“This is not your decision to take. There are people who work for this cause.”

“We did our research before we set out.”

“You four almost died trying. You were surrounded and out-numbered. There were supernatural elements at play. You had no idea what you’re up against.”

“If you knew, Loki is back, why aren’t you taking any steps?”

“What?” Coulson was puzzled but pulled a straight face again. “Are you sure?”

Wanda narrated the whole incident with Loki. Leaving out the mind reading part. She hoped that Coulson would understand it. He got that she was leaving out parts of the story. He called Wanda aside to talk privately to her and asked others to go to the medical centre for check-up. 

“Now tell me.”

“Well, you remember one year ago.. on the streets.. the day P- Pietro turned into a vampire…” Wanda stumbled to find the right words.

Coulson nodded encouragingly so she continued, “The moment I touched Steve and Bucky, we three kind of blacked out.” She inhaled deeply before continuing, “I was able to look into their memories. The same had happened before with Howard. Steve and I thought it’s something… like I can see only vampires’ memories.”

Coulson remained silent, intrigued by her story.

“So, it seems I can access the memories even when I’m not touching them. Loki somehow entered my mind. He used me to see something that happened years ago. To read other vampires’ memories. I don’t even know who they are and they were hiding something that he needed. He used me to see that. I wanted to stop him before he gets his hand on what he needs.”

“What was he after?”

“A spectre and a book. Now he has the spectre.”

“Now where is the book?”

“I passed out. My brain was muddled when I woke up.”

…..

Coulson called the agents above Level 6 to his office. Coulson switched on the screen implanted in the wall opposite to his table. The biodata and activities of Loki ran on the screen.

“We are now facing a threat which is common to both humans and vampires. Yeah, I know what some of you are thinking. Few of you already worked related to this a year back. Others, welcome on board.” Coulson looked amused at the shocked face of his agents, “The one particular vampire whom we are concerned with is Loki. He is trying to attain his powers back.”

“The rest of the required information is on these files” he said, placing a bunch of files on his table. “I need everyone to do their work. Find Loki’s weakness. Prepare for the mission.”

After the meeting Coulson went to the landing strip to see the Council of Five. After talking to Wanda, he called Steve to let him know about the situation. The Council rushed back from the capital. Bucky, who had learnt from Pym about Loki, met up with others. They had been picked up by the S.T.A.K.E’s quinjet and brought to base. When the quinjet landed, the vampires filed out into the base.

“We don’t have much time. Let’s directly go to my office.”

“If we hadn’t flown around in circles for about an hour we could have arrived earlier” commented Tony.

“Protocols” Coulson simply stated.

“Where’s Wanda?”

“In my office.”

As soon as they entered Coulson’s office, Natasha spoke.

“Is it true?”

“I believe so.”

Steve embraced Wanda in a tight hug. “You okay?”

“I’m good. I’m good” she convinced him.

Wanda filled the Council on what happened in their absence. She didn’t leave out any part of the story since everyone knew about her powers earlier.

“We need to find out what Loki is after” Wanda finished.

“It’s the book. The Darkhold” Natasha said. She looked at Jiaying who gave a sad nod.

“We need to get it before Loki,” Coulson said.

Steve who had been silent till now spoke up, “I have a contact. She would help us.”

Coulson nodded in agreement. “Two of my agents would also accompany you on the mission.”

“This is our fight. You can stay out of it” Jiaying spat in anger.

“Your fight would cost civilians lives. I’m doing what I have to do.”

The clock was ticking and they had to work with S.T.A.K.E. Jiaying hadn’t been fully aboard on this but agreed finally. Steve, Bucky and Natasha got ready for the mission. Bobbi and Hunter joined them. Steve had asked Wanda to stay in the S.T.A.K.E. base till their return. The team took the Zephyr since its cloaking mechanism might come in handy. They set out of the base, knowing that they will not only have to face Loki but the Legion too.

“I’m telling you Bucky and Steve are going to make out in this mission” Sam playfully started a fight with Lincoln.

“You sound so sure about yourself” Lincoln laughed it away.

“Whenever Steve is around, Bucky spends half of the time ogling at Steve.”

“Ogling?” Lincoln chuckled. “Come on, be serious.”

“I am. Wanna make this fun?”

“You want to bet? No way”

“Come on, man. Atleast, let’s make some money. Let’s bet $10.”

“$20.”

“Whoa! Someone is confident.”

That episode was amazing!

**Spoilers for AoS 7x08

As I thought it would be. All the focus on the characters’ emotional journeys. *chef’s kiss*

I absolutely LOVED the focus on Elena. Her emotions and past. I loved the bonding with May and May’s power expansion.

So as May’s emotions have started to come back her powers aren’t disappearing but instead they are expanding, growing more complex and stronger. Love the entire concept of that.

Elena’s power expansion too!!! Now she doesn’t have to bounce bag, she’s just a regular speedster. IDK how it jives with the comics but I’m here for it. It’s the last season so we might as well go big or go home.

I teared up so bad when they showed Elena’s flashback. Like...I can’t believe that happened to her. I’ve always wanted to know more about her family and past but now I’m just so sad. Her parents are gone, her uncle, and as of S3 her cousin is gone too. It’s no wonder she clings so strongly to the team and to Mack now. She’s lost so much. She can’t bear to lose them too.

Loved seeing a Jiaying before Whitehall irreparably hurt her. She still felt like the core of who she was (a leader dedicated to her people) but without all the hatred and rage that turned her down a wrong path. Also, Daisy has a sister?!?!?! 

But I love that cuz it makes so much fucking sense. Jiaying is decades if not centuries old. Of course she had whole other lives before meeting Cal. She probably had several children. Daisy could really have whole other family members out there that she doesn’t even know exist.

Now I just want to see her meet them and get to know them. I want Daisy and Kora to meet and really get to know that they are sisters. Maybe that can help her come back from Nathaniel’s influence. BTW, who do we think is her dad? Obviously it’s not Cal as he would’ve been a baby when Kora was born. Another Inhuman likely. Not Li as he seems too young as well, considering Kora looks to be in her 30s.

PhiLMD’s existential crisis was heartbreaking. I never even thought about the idea that he still has the same human urges to sleep, eat, etc. even though he doesn’t have to anymore. It was so horrifying to think of him stuck in that TV monitor and having the same urges yet not being able to do anything about it. Do we think they’ll try to allow him to adjust his coding or would that alter him too much? And should they?

We only got a few DaisySous crumbs but I’ll take them. Daisy confiding in her dad about Sousa saving her. “He pulled me from the wreckage...I’m glad he’s here.” Bitch, me too!

Well...I guess the timeline is completely effed now. Fucking Nathaniel!!! It makes me so angry to see him using Daisy’s power, her birthright. Disgusting. And the fact that he’s going to do that to other Inhumans. My god.

The Malick family really has turned out to be some of the better villains in this show. I need them to throw the entire lineage in the trash, asap. To think they grew out of a 2 minute Powers Booth cameo in the Avengers all those years ago. Wild.

Next ep we’re getting a time loop story. I’m ready!!! It’s not a sci-fi show if you don’t have at least one time loop ep.

that tiny moment when May says “ no that’s not what she’s afraid of” in reply to jiaying after telling Li that Kora’s fear of him is what made her take the gun and run off was so powerful

BECAUSE YOU CAN JUST TELL it was May remembering the time Daisy/Skye shot herself with an icer out of fear from her own power when the entire playground started quaking back when she had no total control over it. god this episode gave me painful season 2 flashbacks damn
