#luke should not like annabeth romantically At All

i think one of the reasons i enjoy the percy series so much is because it’s an adaptation of the novels and not word for word the same.
at first i was a little upset by all the changes, but after rereading the books, i actually like the series even more now. as much as we all adore the books, i think we can agree that they’re not perfect. sometimes there’s plot holes, inconsistencies, or just bad writing in general. this gives rick a chance to fix those things, and that’s OKAY.
the series isn’t perfect either, don’t get me wrong, but it is nice to see the characters going on the same adventures even with some variation to the original story. i think this will allow the characters to be fleshed out more.
we have to remember that a tv show and a book is not the same medium, so the way these things are presented cannot be identical. otherwise the characters in the show would probably seem pretty flat since the books are only from percy’s perspective. the series allows us to learn more about the motives and personalities of other characters, be it annabeth, grover, or luke (personally, i’m really excited to see how his character’s story goes).
anyway, all of this is to say that the percy series is great for what it is (an adaptation of a book series). yes it could be better (cough longer and more episodes cough), but i personally really enjoy it so far.

KISS THE GIRL
word count: 2000
pairing: Luke Castellan x poseidon!reader
warnings: none!
a/n: Even though this is a daughter of poseidon fic, its not part of my future au! for Luke.
MASTERLIST
Percy and Annabeth were standing at the edge of the amphitheatre, talking about something mindless when they spotted you and Luke walking towards the entrance, seeming deeping engaged in conversation.
Annabeth watched as you laughed at something Luke said and a light blush tinged his cheeks, and she couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Could he get any more obvious?
“Oi, Perce,” She whispered, “Are you seeing what I’m seeing?” She asked, nudging him to look in the direction of the pair of you.
“Yeah, I see my sister with Luke, what about it-” It appeared the realisation finally struck him, “Oh my god, are they-?”
“I don’t know. He’s definitely into her, I know that.” Annabeth mused, inspecting the pair as they grabbed two wooden swords and began sparring together, laughing as they repeatedly dodged and side-stepped the other.
“He told you that?” Percy asked, his eyes practically bulging out of his head.
“Well, no. But it’s pretty obvious, don’t you think?”
Annabeth then gasped in realisation, startling Percy slightly before he realised it was just another one of her epiphanies.
“We should get them together!”
“Are you sure that’s a good idea? Isn’t that something you leave up to Aphrodite kids?” Percy asked hesitantly.
“Battle strategy and romantic strategy aren’t all that different.” She shrugged, before dragging him off to draw up new ‘romantic’ battle plans with her.
STAGE 1: CONFRONT LUKE
Annabeth’s strategy wasn’t all that complicated, and she was pretty certain the most difficult part would be getting Luke to admit his feelings. But, as it turns out, he cracked pretty quickly.
“Alright, you got me.” He sighed, holding his hands up in surrender, “I do like her, but can you blame me? I mean, she’s so smart, and beautiful, and kind, and-”
“That’s enough lover boy. Cool it.” Percy said, cutting him off with a groan. As much as he had given Annabeth his blessing to go along with this crazy plan, he still didn’t want to hear Luke gushing about how hot his sister is.
“Sorry man.” Luke chuckled awkwardly, before the pair of boys turned back to Annabeth to lead the conversation.
“So, now that you’ve admitted it, we need to start brainstorming how we’re gonna get you guys together.” She said, clapping her hands together and producing a roll of paper, with a long list of ideas that she promptly began to read out.
The list ranged from pretty normal things like ‘take her out on a picnic’ to insane stuff like ‘bring her a monster's head as a gift’. Luke wasn’t so sure you would be a fan of that one, but he had to admit all the other items were pretty good ideas.
“So what do you suggest, Annie? Work our way down the list?” Luke asked, and his little sister nodded, before outlining which ones she thought would be best.
“We should start small, you don’t wanna freak her out,” She consulted the list again, thinking to herself, “Ah, here we go, ‘Give her a compliment’.”
“Ok, I think I can do that.” Luke grinned, his head immediately flooded with things that he loved about you.
“Just don’t make it weird, or I’ll revoke my blessing.” Percy grumbled, his arms crossed as Luke laughed sheepishly again.
“Will do.”
STAGE 2: START SMALL
The next week mostly consisted of Annabeth and Percy spying on you and Luke at any possible moment.
The first of his tasks, to give you a compliment seemed to go well. The pair of preteens watched on from their spot behind a tree as the pair of you separated to go to dinner, and Luke complimented your hair. You blushed slightly, and smiled widely, before rushing off to your own table in the dining pavilion.
Luke quickly whipped around to look at Percy and Annabeth who gave him enthusiastic thumbs ups.
His next task was to give you a small gift, and he decided that it should take the form of the matching charm bracelets he made with the younger kids. Annabeth and Percy sat with him as he deliberated over specific colours and shapes of bead, until they were nearly sick of his equivocation.
But, as much as watching him make it was downright annoying, Percy had to admit the way you both wore your charm bracelets everyday afterwards was pretty cute.
The final task of the week was to bring you flowers, and that whole day Luke could be seen wading through fields of wildflowers looking for the perfect ones to add to his bouquet. This was then snuck onto your nightstand later that night by Percy, who over the course of the week had become very invested in your blossoming relationship, a fact he would deny to the ends of the earth.
STAGE 3: ESCALATE
“Alright Luke, time to bring out the big guns.” Annabeth announced, before clearing her throat and reading the list of tasks for the week.
‘Sit at her table during dinner’
‘At least one compliment a day’
‘One instance of arm-around-the-waist contact’
This was the point at which the Hermes boy began to get slightly nervous. The other stuff before could be pretty easily written off as friendly, but sitting at someone's table at dinner? Only couples did that.
“Are you sure that’s not moving too fast, I mean-”
“Luke Castellan, don’t be so damn pathetic! Grow some balls, before someone else steals your girl!” Annabeth exclaimed, whacking him over the head with the list.
He nodded, “Yes Ma’am.”
From then on, he was pretty much unwavering in his determination. He sat at your table every mealtime, slinging an arm around your shoulder, or your waist. Anytime you came up with a capture the flag strategy, he’d praise you intelligence, anytime he saw you, he greeted you with a ‘Morning beautiful’ or a ‘Hey sweetheart’.
Annabeth and Percy were shocked with his sudden progress, but pretty impressed with the way it was going. At this point, the pair of you were practically dating.
The only minor setback came in the form of your complete and utter cluelessness.
Percy had decided to test the waters with you, and gently float the idea of you getting together with Luke.
“You’ve been spending loads of time with Luke at the moment.” He remarked casually as you both walked back to cabin 3.
“You’ve just noticed I spend time with my best friend? Well done kid.” You laughed, ruffling his curly blonde hair.
“That’s not what I meant.” He rolled his eyes, ducking out of your grasp.
“Then what did you mean?” You asked, hands on your hips, a confused expression on your face.
“I meant like, you guys being ‘involved’.” He shrugged, trying to make it sound as nonchalant as possible while looking out for your every reaction. He was unreasonably invested at this point, but oh well.
“What?!” You exclaimed, your voice suddenly going higher pitched, “Nah, no chance! Luke would never.”
Percy had to stop his jaw from dropping to the floor. It would’ve made sense if you denied having feelings for him, but to be so oblivious of how whipped that boy was for you? He thought you were smart.
“Yeah, sure. I guess so.” He shrugged once again, before swiftly changing the subject.
STAGE 4: KISS THE GIRL!!
“Guys, we have a problem.” Percy said, bursting in on Luke and Annabeth’s conversation the next morning.
“What?” The pair asked in sync, concerned expressions on their faces.
“Y/N is an idiot.”
“Woah, don’t say that about her-” Luke began, desperate to defend your honour, but was cut off by Annabeth’s harsh glare.
“What do you mean, Perce?” She asked, her tone level.
“Luke, man, she has no clue you like her. Like she is convinced it’s impossible.” Percy explained, and Annabeth’s expression also grew confused.
“Gods, she really is dumb.” She sighed, ignoring Luke’s chiding at insulting you, “We’re gonna have to really turn it up a notch. Luke, it’s time to really bring out the big guns.”
For the next few days, Luke, Annabeth and Percy spent most of their time rushing around preparing for Annabeth’s so-called ‘masterstroke’.
And then, after much hard work from the trio, it was ready, and Luke was whisking you away from the campfire to the surprise he had prepared for you.
“Luke, where are we going?!” You laughed as he dragged you along by the wrist, a piece of cloth tied around your head to block your vision.
“You’ll see.” He chuckled, gently directing you around a tree root as he led you deeper into the forest.
“I swear, if you’re kidnapping me I am not going to be happy.” You teased that infectious smile he loved so much covering your face.
“No, no kidnapping tonight.”
You continued to joke around together as he led you towards his destination, until eventually you came to a halt, and he was untying the cloth around your face.
You gasped in delight as you saw you were by the pier, and in front of you was a picnic blanket set up with all of your favourite food and drink.
Immediately you grabbed him by the arm and led him to the blanket, thanking him all the way and gushing about how sweet and amazing he was. Meanwhile, Luke was trying not to pass out from the barrage of affection you were giving him.
The pair of you quickly tucked into the meal, laughing and joking. But all the while, Luke was preparing his confession, and trying not to let his palms get too sweaty.
Eventually, he decided it was time, and he made his move.
“Y/N?”
“Yeah?” You looked up at him with shining eyes, and he had to remind himself to breathe.
“I’m in-” His love confession was cut off by the sudden boom of fireworks above you both, and he silently cursed himself for forgetting to organise a signal with Annabeth to start them. She really did have bad timing sometimes.
“Oh my gods! Fireworks!” You exclaimed, nudging Luke to take a closer look, pointing out which ones were your favourites, and clearly any speculation about what Luke was going to say had escaped your mind.
Eventually the display was over, and you turned to him yet again, gushing about how lucky they were that fireworks were out tonight. He couldn’t help but wonder how someone usually so smart could be so clueless?
“I organised the fireworks, Y/N.” He said, softly, placing his calloused hand over yours.
“What, really?!” You blinked owlishly at him for a moment before furrowing your brows and asking, “Wait, how come?”
Luke couldn’t contain his chuckle.
“Isn’t it obvious by now? I’m in love with you. I’ve been trying to hint at it for weeks, but clearly I wasn’t being obvious enough.”
“What? Why?” You stammered, shock coating your face entirely.
“Why am I in love with you?” He asked as if it was a stupid question, which to him it was, because he could list a million things that he loved about you.
“Because you’re beautiful, and smart, and kind, and generous, and every time I see you I can’t help but smile because you're my best friend and I love you more than anything.” He rambled, wiping his slightly clammy palms on his cargos.
“Now I’d really appreciate it if you’d put me out of my misery and reject me.” He said sheepishly, itching the back of his neck.
But, of course, the rejection never came. Instead you were rushing forwards to hold his face in your hands and kiss him, slowly and deeply.
And, about ten metres away, Annabeth and Percy could be seen high-fiving behind a tree, before skipping back to the campfire in glee.

Blood And Pressure
Part two
Tumblr media
Yandere!Pjo x Fem!Grisha!reader. (Platonic Yandere gods) (romantic!various characters)
-♡ Chapter: Previous // Next
-♡ characters: Percy Jackson, Luke Castellan, Clarisse La Rue, Grover Underwood, Annabeth Chase.
-♡ this is a shadow & bone slight crossover. Reader is a heartrender and that's all really (maybe more in the future!)
-♡ Please note that all characters are aged appropriately, so all characters are older versions of the book characters. So 17-19 characters for these, you can choose any of them really.Just that they are older teens.
-♡ I will be imagining Charlie Bushnell as Luke.
-♡warning : short, yandere behaviors, obsession, stalking. slightly sick love, possessive, manipulative, gaslighting. platonic yandere too, blood powers, powerful powers but not godly, and future warnings when more chapters come out.
Tumblr media
This was the best moment of your life. The camp was beautiful. You got to see real people training together, not just the ones that come into the infirmary. And Percy was just as amazed as you. It was cool to see someone your own age being new to camp, and that you could use him to get yourself out of that damn house.
Percy made you smile with his small jokes and comments about the place. Which caused Chiron to look between you two without you knowing. You never looked so happy.
“There is a place for you,” chiron points to one of the cabins. A flag hanging from the roof was Hermes and you smile, they welcomed everyone. Many kids ended up in the infirmary after their pranks and you loved to hear the stories.
Percy was to go into the cabin and start his new life while you had to watch and then go back. Of course you were happy for him to have a place. But it would go back to being alone.
“What about y/n?” Percy turned to you with a brow raised. “Don’t you have a cabin?” Before you could answer, the centaur answered for you.
“She is not a Demigod,” he moved his hooves closer and puts a hand on your shoulder. You sigh and nod, “she stays with us. Now say your goodbyes.”
Pushing everything you felt back you mange to give the boy a big smile, “good luck Percy.” And his name in your mouth lift him smitten along with your smile.
He couldn’t wrap his head around why you were here to just stay in the big house. This was a camp for half-bloods and you weren’t one…he wasn’t sure what you were. So why keep you locked up?
“I think y/n should see the inside.” He turn his gaze to the larger man. You could see the mischief on his face.
“I mean, you said you’d give them a tour and haven’t showed them what the insides look like? I think you should keep to your word.”
You cover your mouth with a giggle and he finds himself taking another glance at you with growing pride. However Chiron wasn’t as happy about this because he wanted to get you home and away from everyone…just like the oracle said to.
“I agree, now if you’ll excuse us.” You turn your head and grab ahold of Percy’s hand and start to walk to the cabin door. You had a mission to see everything that you could!
Percy turned brighter by each second and followed you with a clouded head. He stares at the way your hand felt on his. Maybe he could find a way to keep you with him at all time. His chest filled with butterflies and he couldn’t help but to squeeze your hand back as you pull him along.
The cabin was full of campers and bunks crowded around everywhere. You didn’t know what you were expecting but this wasn’t it. I mean the cabin should have been much bigger with the amount of kids that came in, even Hermes had many kids. Just for a second you felt out of place until your eyes set upon another…ones you have looked into before.
Eyes that looked at you many times, the only boy you had a conversation with before. With a scar running across his cheek.
“Well, aren’t we lucky.” The boy stepped closer to you both. His lips curled into a smirk as everyone else the cabin turn to look at you both. The mystery girl and the new boy who took down a minotaur. A odd pair to be seen together.
Percy tightened his hold on your hand at the way he was looking into your eyes and inching closer. Who was this guy? If only he could throw his arm around you to show he already had his claim.
“Luke Castellan.” The slightly taller boy introduced himself. His eyes looked away from you and he was met with percy harsh gaze. The only one now to stop the contest they seemed to have was Chiron who walked behind you.
Camp seemed to get more interesting by the second.

hii! its tots fine if no but could you maybe do some fluff with basketball player luke and like him tryinh to teach you how to play?🙈
i read basketball & fluff and my one tree hill obsessed heart started singing. YES, ABSOLUTELY I CAN DO THIS <3333 have to preface this by saying that i know like nothing about basketball, though. i am a strictly baseball-hockey girl myself sdjfhskdjfh. my knowledge is limited but i will do my best, hehe. she's short and sweet. enjoy, my lovely! 𓆩♡𓆪
Tumblr media
"you might be the worst player i have ever seen, and i once watched grover try to play." your boyfriend, luke castellan, chuckled unhelpfully from behind you.
you and luke had been going out for a couple of months now and honestly? you'd never been happier. he'd made you feel so welcome your first week of camp and every day since, he'd made you feel safe and cared for.
you were basically luke's dream girl. you were funny, caring, charming, and you had very quickly become his safe space. your one big flaw, however, was that you couldn't play basketball for shit.
the two of you had been playing horse on the camp court and you were failing... miserably. luke already had H-O-R-S and you... had no letters. yeah, you were that bad.
"in the words of annabeth: statistically speaking, you should have at least gotten one by now." he grinned, his smile only growing wider when you turned around to glare at him.
"oh, fuck off! not all of us are basketball superstars!" you huffed, but you couldn't help but laugh along with him. this was part of why you cared about him so much, he could always make you laugh despite yourself.
"if this is the best you can do, i don't think we can see each other anymore. makes me look bad." he laughed, quickly getting up from the bench he was on to avoid getting hit with the ball you tossed at him.
"i'm kidding, i'm kidding! c'mere." he laughed, beckoning you toward him with that easy smile you loved. "i can't do it, basketball is not one of my many skills! quit on me, castellan, i'll only slow you down." you sighed dramatically.
"alright, drama queen. you can, just trust me." luke stated, rolling his eyes at your dramatics. "square your shoulders, to the basket." he instructed, watching as you begrudgingly did as told, lips formed in a little pout.
"now, you gotta bring the ball up right past your nose like this, okay?" he instructed, demonstrating exactly what to do with his own arms, ball in hand as you went through the motion with him.
"bend your knees a little." he corrected, holding the ball out for you to grab before stepping behind you. "relax your hips..." he murmured, gently placing his hands on you and leaning down to your ear to make sure you could still hear him... and also to be a romantic sap.
"and... just shoot." he stated, eyes watching you while you eyed the hoop suspiciously. "that's it? just shoot?" you asked, voice a little breathy as you turned your head a bit to look at him. "just shoot." he repeated with a nod.
"well, here goes nothing." you sighed, bending your knees a little more before bending a little and letting the ball fly out of your hands and... right into the net.
"holy shit" you breathed, grin breaking out onto your face as you turned to look at your smiling, slightly cocky boyfriend. "told you so." he smirked, grunting a bit on impact as you flung your arms around him with a laugh.
"okay, maybe you can be right sometimes." you relented, sighing dramatically like it was the hardest thing you'd ever have to admit. "that's very big of you, babe." he chuckled, eyes shining with adoration as he looked at you.
"now, do it a few more times and maybe you'll catch up to me." luke hummed, jogging leisurely to go pick up the ball from it's spot by the bench.
"nuh uh, castellan. i'm going out on the high of making that one shot, i'm retired, 'm too good to keep going." you stated, shaking your head and turning on your heel to leave.
"quitter!" he called after you, grinning as you simply flipped him off and kept walking. "see you before dinner?"
"duh, you owe me a victory kiss."

Round 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda Under Cut
Annabeth Chase
I feel like fandom is kinda split on her with percabeth shippers loving her but any m/m shipper I've seen does not like her, really. She is my bae tho <3
Percabeth antis grind my gears so much because they never hate Percy, nono, even though he's arguably done more questionable stuff than Annabeth. Not everyone who hates her is doing so because of a mlm ship— the Perachel stans claim that Annabeth is a misogynist. However, basically everyone that isn't trying to ship her boyfriend with Rachel is trying to ship him with Jason, Nico, or her old friend Luke. They make her out to be this horrible abusive girlboss(derogatory) that she's simply... not. She doesn't insult Percy for having ADHD just because she's highly intelligent. She doesn't physically abuse him, and doesn't lay a finger on him outside of training. She's really devoted to him in a non-anti-feminist way. They just hate her for 'getting in the way' of Nico's convoluted attraction to Percy, or Jason's close friendship with him, or Luke's rivalry with him. But those relationships all flourish the way they were intended by the author: non-romantically. It's not Annabeth's fault for being intelligent or capable or jokingly snide or determined or any of those non-stereotypically-feminine qualities. She's just out here existing and people hate her for not being a man. Sorry for the rant.
She's canonically in a relationship with Percy Jackson for most of the books they're in, but he often gets paired in canon with other male characters, such as Nico di Angelo or Jason Grace. In fan fiction (especially yaoi focused ones) she's characterized as being a stuck up know it all, but she gets into plenty of shenanigans in canon and can be pretty goofy and sweet!
Sakura Haruno
Her husband is gay and her author doesn't know how to write women. So many people say she's the worst but she. DESERVES. BETTER!!! Save her from this franchise.
My baby girl my bestie my best friend. She committed the crime of um being written by kishimoto who both doesn’t know how to write women and somehow writes men in the gayest way possible specifically naruto and sasuke. Like the thing is naruto and sasuke ARE gay and also she gets so much hate for the crime of kishimoto writing her one dimensionally in love with sasuke. I know her personally she is a butch lesbian to me just trust me she’s in love with Ino and has a lesbian thing going on with Karin okay just trust me. My everything. She needs to divorce the loveless lavender marriage she’s in
What is there to say, even? The OG Threat to my 90s anime brain, the only woman I've ever hated with such a passion she made me turn away from the color pink. I used to write fics with my friend where she got left behind on purpose so our OCs could join the Naruto and Sasuke team instead. I loathed this bitch until I was 16 and realized the author simply couldnt write women and decided it was time to make peace with Sakura. It is not her fault she's vaguely written and obsessive over Sasuke. She deserves better. Sasuke and Naruto still should be together and Sakura shouldnt be with Sasuke but I no longer believe this because I hate Sakura, it is because I love her. She deserves a spouse who will actually put in the time to treat her like the hero she is.

I couldn’t reblog the og post bc ig Tumblr’s ruined the code, so this is a copy of it. Please give credit to the og posters.
milf-percy
It dosen't really matter that Percy isn't hurt by Annabeth insulting him all the time and sometimes even being physically violent to him(he should be because that's a realistic response from an abuse and bullying survivor but i digress),not just because he's a fictional character and not a real person with free will, but also because that's Annabeth's way of showing she fucking hates him.Her treatment of him has literally not changed since they were 12 yet nobody in this dumbass fandom can shut up about how ~developed~ their relathionship is cause they make out now and are planning on having a dysfunctional cishet marriage while trashing the characters of color for being 'annoying'.
Percy and Annabeth are not 'made for eachother' because Rick wrote everyone in-universe as telling them that and i'd like to remind y'all that this is the same guy who wrote Luke,an adult serial abuser and ped0phile,as a 'hero' because of the Great Prophecy.Destiny means jack shit and Annabeth and Percy-ESPECIALLY Percy, who's been doomed to trauma over and over again despite his best efforts to escape it-should've been allowed to choose who to love instead of having it shoved down their throats by both everyone in their franchise and the creepy weirdos in the fandom too
@southasianpercy
chaoticcerise
Hi! As someone with ADHD who's been in several abusive relationships before, I figured I'd add something about why it IS actually realistic that he doesn't appear hurt, but that's actually even more alarming. So it starts with meeting them (obviously) and especially if they don't really have any healthy romantic IRL relationships to compare it to (which the books go out of their way to emphasize that this is the case) then it can be really hard to notice when red flags like that start to come up. "Oh it'll get better!" "They're still adjusting to it!" All of which are valid! There's healthy relationships that start rough and there's relationships that start really well and then something happens that doesn't go super well and it turns bad real quick. I've been in a few of both. The problem comes when it still happens after they're asked to stop, which is what happens in Percy Jackson. This can lead to things like "Oh they're just kidding, surely they don't mean it!" "Oh that's just how they flirt/show they love me!" Which, again, is fine IF IT'S WELCOME. However if it's not then eventually it's "Oh they're just like that." "Oh it's fine I guess, it's not like I can stop it." Just because someone doesn't complain doesn't mean that they're consenting. It means they're resigned to the abuse. And that means that he's internalizing and normalizing it. "We don't hear any real negativity towards Annabeth in Percy's thoughts though!!!" Well no but we don't hear any love either. We don't ever hear any thoughts about her really ever. Nothing about how pretty she is or how cool she is or anything. Percy Jackson has thoughts about EVERYONE. As someone with ADHD, this level of no thoughts is concerning and no basis for a relationship. He deserves someone who will treat him well. She deserves someone who thinks about her fondly. Both of them deserve better but they both need to undergo some character development and serious therapy first.

See, the decision to do away with the romantic undertones of Annabeth and Luke was correct(TM), in my opinion. It is, at best, a boring, basic writing decision, and at worst, hella creepy.
But Annabeth's crush in the books was a quick way to establish they have a connection. A lazy way! Mind you! We gotta establish girl loves boy so let's have her have a crush, despite their relationship being explicitly planned to be familial! Lazy. Cliche. Kinda creepy. But it does do what it means to do, which is to quickly tie Annabeth to Luke.
If you're gonna change that to screen, which you should, you have to do it all the way. You can't just tell me they are like siblings, you gotta show me. Annabeth gets a gentle moment of goodbye with Thalia. Why not Luke? Where is the scene where he is walking after her as she packs, shooting instructions or reassuring her she will be okay or asking if she has her toothbrush? Where is any scene of them at all? They never get five minutes to talk. How do you want me to believe they love each other like family?

my Percyverse unpopular opinions
Creds to @iliveinyourceiling65 for ideas :D
Nico and Will’s relationship is of overrated, Nico was facing a ton of self hatred for being gay and having a relationship with Will doesn’t help. Also it’s not a good ending to Nico’s ark, it’s just ha faces all this stuff with coming out to his father and he just ends it by dating someone? It doesn’t seem like s good ending.
Rachel is literally not a bad character, just because Percy Jackson liked Rachel romantically doesn’t mean she’s a bad character.
Octavian pillow pet is stupid, it’s his job and he’s supposed to examine fluff. I still don’t like Octavian but that’s just because he’s annoying.
The 7 girls should have a better relationship in Hero’s of Olympus. Literally all of them hate eachother and get way too jealous and protective of their boyfriends. Male writers do not portray female characters correctly because girls DO NOT ACT LIKE THAT
Hazel and franks relationship is weird because their age gap is way way to big
Percy and Jason’s bromance is not as good as it could be, we should have gotten a bromance with Leo and Jason instead because Percy already has his best friend.
The only reason Nico is so popular is because he’s gay and emo, (I’m gay too but he’s just overrated)
Jason is so underrated, everyone hates his for no reason when he’s actually a good in depth character.
Luke is not a pedo, he sure is a creep and used Annabeth to manipulate him tho

I just really need to get this off my chest because it’s making me angry.
Tumblr media
Chapter XVIII, Annabeth, Mark of Athena
This chapter is in Annabeth’s POV. Meaning it’s what she thinks/thought. Meaning it was her interpretation of what he said in TLO. Meaning there could’ve been other ways to interpret it, but she chose to interpret it romantically.
Maybe it’s due to the time he came to her house, saying to her that he wanted to run away with her, just like old times. Meaning as a family, because in the old times, they were a family. That should be simple to understand.
I (and others) interpreted Luke’s ‘question to Annabeth’ line in TLO as him saying that he could’ve just wanted to know if she liked him, as he couldn’t have know if she didn’t tell him. He was just wondering.
Another interpretation is that he asked that question in a platonic way or in a family-way sense. Not romantically. The line could’ve been another way of saying, “Are we still a family?” Or something similar to that.
Riordan could’ve made it clearer in TLO in which way Luke meant it— maybe leave us more information for a clearer inference?
A lot of things are going through my mind right now, sorry. If you read through all of this and made it to the end, thank you?

i don't wanna like. complain too much especially now that the PJO show's first season is over but i do feel kind of lied to about it with how rick constantly claimed it would be super accurate and perfect unlike the movies and how he said stuff like this:
Tumblr media
because this is literally exactly what i wanted. i wanted to see as much of the book's story as possible while also getting some fun additions or even changes when necessary (for example, one change that i really want if we ever get the final book is luke's death scene, when he asks annabeth if she loved him--this needs to either not happen, or annabeth's answer needs to be changed from "you were like a brother to me, but i didn't love you" to something that affirms that she did love him in a familial way, so that his question can't be taken as a romantic thing. maybe his wording of it should change as well.) and i also thought it's only natural that they'd have to cut less important scenes. but they changed sooo so much and the show is basically just more accurate than the movies in the sense that they go to all the right locations, fight the right monsters, and hit the right basic plot beats, but the how and why of it all is so different. the details are all off. and also imo they somehow managed to make it boring to watch, which is an even worse crime to me. honestly i don't want books i enjoy to get screen adaptations anymore. make them stage musicals on par with the lightning thief musical or just leave them alone.

THE OUTSIDERS
002; the winter solstice

summary: the one where daisy returns to camp from college and is blinded by her love for him, even as the world ends
wordcount: 2.3k
Tumblr media
Being back at camp was the breath of fresh air that Daisy had been looking for.
For the first time in a long time, she finally felt like the weight had been lifted off of her shoulders and there was nothing to worry about.
The whole issue with Luke and the dreams he had been having had brushed over and she knew that he had listened to her.
However, it was after the trip to Mount Olympus on the annual Winter Solstice trip that she knew something was wrong.
It started off small. There was more rain on the way back and she could feel the harsh winds even in camp.
It wasn't just the weird weather, but Luke that was acting strange. He seemed too proud, too excited and she wondered what was up with hi .
"What's wrong with your face?" She asked one day as they sat at the table, eating lunch.
"My face?" He asked, not even trying to hide the smug grin.
She scoffed, turning to him, "You have that little smirk on,"
"I'm just happy, thats all Daisy," he said, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.
She looked up at him and the smile on his face and tried to ignore the sickening feeling in her stomach.
Daisy couldn't put her finger on it but he seemed too happy. Something was up.
The most logical thing would be that he had finally got a girlfriend; most of the girls in camp had been trying to date him for years.
"Wow, you're really happy," she said, smile falling from her face as she thought about the possibility.
She knew that she hadnt made any sort of move but she hated that maybe there was some other girl.
He stood up, hands on the table as he leant forward to look at her, "I gotta go, I have to make sure Travis and Connor leave that poor new boy alone,"
The thing he did next surprised her the most. He kissed her on the cheek and she was left sitting there, reeling.
Daisy could feel her face lit up in a blush and a hand came up to touch the patch of skin he'd kissed.
Sure, he'd done that a few times before but it felt different this time, more romantic, domestic even.
She stood up, watching as he rushed off towards the Hermes cabin and she just stared into the distance, shell-shocked.
"Why does he look so happy?" A voice asked.
The teenager jumped a little bit, so lost in her own world and thoughts that she didn't see that someone was behind her.
She recognised the voice instantly and knew there was only one person sneaky enough to do that. When she turned around she saw the culprit of her fright.
"Oh God's Annabeth, you scared me," she said, a hand on her own chest, feeling her own heartbeat.
"Sorry Daisy," Annabeth said, looking up at her.
She loved that little girl more than anything. She was Lukes sister and in turn, Daisy grew protective over her.
Annabeth was the most intelligent and most wise person in the whole camp which is exactly why she was made the camp counsellor of the Athena Cabin.
"I don't know why he looks so happy, maybe it's a girl," she said, hoping that the intelligent girl didn't hear the bitter tone.
Annabeth stared at her for a second, eyebrows furrowed as she looked at Daisy.
"That doesn't make any sense," she said, looking up at her, "He talks about you when you're not here, you should visit more often,"
Annabeth had heard everything about the girl from Luke. He gushed about her all of the time and she knew all about his feelings for her, even if the recipient hadn't figured it out yet.
Daisy looked down at her, the arm that was wrapped around her shoulder falling down.
Maybe there wasn't some other girl. Maybe, just maybe, Luke did like her the way that she wanted him too.
"What do you mean?" She inquired.
Amnabeth hummed in response, "He talks about you. You're his best friend of course,"
She looked over at him as he stood with he new kid, crouched down to his height as he made sure he was okay.
He looked over the little boys shoulder and caught Daisy's eye and his face lit up in a grin.
She knew something was up but right now, she just wanted to accept the fact that he might have feelings for her.
He waved and she waved back, "Huh, thanks for letting me know," she said, face blushing.
She looked down at Annabeth, squeezing her shoulder before the two walked away.
Tumblr media
Daisy sat in the cabin and when she saw the little boy that Luke had been talking to earlier sitting on the porch, she stood up and approached him.
He was young. A brunette, short buzz cut hair. As she looked at him, she knew he couldn't be more than 12 years old.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you, whats your name?" She asked, sitting down next to him calmly.
Ever since she got to camp, she had this urge to help any young child who came in, to make sure that they didn't have the same awful experience she initially had.
He was silent for a little while and she could tell he was trying to figure out if he could trust her.
"Archie," he replied, his voice meek.
"It's nice to meet you Archie, I'm Daisy, I'm second in command here at the Apollo cabin," she said, holding her hand out.
Hesitantly, he reached forward and shook her hand, a slight smile on his face.
"I'm scared," he said quietly and she remembered the feeling all too well.
"We all are when we get here," she promised.
He was still silent and then he looked up at her, brown eyes wide, "How old were you when you got here?"
"Ten. I was lucky to have ever made it here but I did," she said. She was quiet for a second as she thought about her arrival.
She was young. A little girl who had only wanted to be safe and save her mother and now she had everything she had ever wanted.
"You'll fit in great here," she promised, a hand on his shoulder.
He was silent and she could see the contemplation on Archies face. He seemed a little less nervous already.
He shook his head, looking away, "What if they think I'm useless?"
She chuckled, "You can't be useless. Here in the Apollo cabin, everyone has their own skills, no matter how big or small," she promised.
Daisy turned around and looked through the window at some of the other campers.
It was dark outside, night falling on the camp and they were all getting ready to sleep inside. The boy looked through the window as well.
He could see how busy the Apollo cabin was. It was the second largest cabin, after Hermes of course.
"That boy over there, Will, he's a brilliant Healer and he's only 10, that girl Kayla, she has a gift with light and Nina over there is the greatest opera singer you'll ever hear," she said.
"I love music," he admitted.
She chuckled, "Me too. Its a trait we got from dad," she said, turning around again to look at the scenery.
She loved the view of the lake, so much that everyone had thought she might be Poseidons daughter. But she was much more of an Apollo than anything else.
The door opened and she saw Luke walk in. He stood by the open door, leaning against the wall.
"Mind if I join ya," he asked.
She always thought that he was gorgeous in the moonlight, the scar on his cheek lit up in colour, his eyes glowing.
She cleared her throat, hoping he wouldnt have noticed how she was admiring him, "It's after 9 Luke, you'll get yourself in trouble,"
There was that smile again, "For you darling, I'll do anything," he said.
Daisy felt her face heating up in a blush. He had never called her that and the nickname made chills run down her spine. She didn't know what was going on with him.
Once again, she cleared her throat to try and hide her emotion, "Archie, this is my friend Luke, he is the Head of the Hermes cabin,"
Archie nodded, "Yeah, we met when I first joined,"
"Yeah, i remember you kid. You'll fit in great here, and with Daisy here, nothing could go wrong," He said, placing his hand on the boys shoulder.
Archie yawned and she could see how tired he was. She remembered how exhausted she was when she first arrived at camp.
It's overwhelming at first, for your whole life to be turned upside down but it was all worth it in the end.
"Why don't you go get some rest kid? you deserve it," she suggested.
She ruffled his hair and he stood up, waving goodbye to them before walking out and back into the cabin.
"Sweet kid," Luke muttered before he sat down next to her.
She looked at him for a second before leaning her head down on his shoulder.
"Yeah, he is," she said, sighing, "I can't believe he's so young. I was scared when I came here but hes so tiny,"
He looked down at her, a hand brushing down her hair. He thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world, even if she didn't think that herself all the time.
"Amnabeth was about his age," luke said.
She remembered when they got into camp for the first time. She had been there for seven months and in came two scared demigods who had lost a lot.
"I know, I know," Daisy muttered, leaning up again and watching as he stood up, "It's crazy,"
"They should be stopped. The Gods shouldn't be able to just torment little kids like this and you know it," he started pacing.
Daisy sighed. She recognised this regular spiel of his. He thought the God's should pay for what they did and she agreed.
They just had a different opinion in the way that these things should be dealt with.
"I agree. There should be more safety for them, but that's not our job," she said, reaching a hand out to stop him.
He scoffed. Luke was so adamant that there was something that he could do to help the other kids that sometimes he was blinded from what was in front of him.
"We have the opportunity to change the world and you won't take it. You won't help kids like Archie," he said.
That was the final straw for Daisy. She hated that he thought she didn't care, she did. She just had different views than Luke did.
She stood up, pointing her finger at him, "Don't say that to me,"
"Des-" Luke started to backtrack when he realised what he had said.
She was furious and on a mission, she wouldn't let him talk down to her like that, "I do everything I can for these kids. I've put in years and years to try and make their lives something better,"
He hadn't seen Daisy that mad for a long time. She did do a lot but in his eyes, it was not nearly enough.
"I do everything for them too. Now you're at college. It's changed you, you've lost the spark," he spat out, that residual anger bubbling up.
She had always known there was anger in him but had never really seen it. She didn't like it.
That's when she saw him change, the same change after their quest together.
"What have you done Luke?" She asked, voice calming down.
It was less of anger and more like she was talking down an angry animal, or a man about to jump off a cliff.
He took a deep breath, calming down too, "You won't want to know,"
There was an eerie tone to the conversation. It was weird for them to act like this.
Daisy scoffed. She didn't want to think about what he had done, "I can't believe you, I can't believe you,"
She stormed off, walking over to the door and slamming it open. He followed her out, wanting to explain it to her.
"Daisy, come on," he said, grabbing her wrist and stopping her from getting too far.
She narrowed her eyes at him, yanking her arm away from him. He had never done something like that before.
Lukes eyes softened. He hadn't understood why he had done that. He would never want to hurt her on purpose.
"Don't talk to me right now," she said, taking a step away from him.
Someone in the cabin shushed them and she could see some people watching their argument.
None of them had ever seen Luke and Daisy argue to this extent and they all knew that something was wrong.
"Get out of my cabin," she spat out.
"Daisy," luke said as he stepped closer to her.
She stepped out of the way, pointing at the door to try and kick him out even faster.
She scoffed, there was nothing that he could do to make it better right now, "Get out," she exclaimed.
He walked out in silence. He stood outside of the door for a couple of seconds, waiting to see if she would come out to see him.
Luke knew that he had screwed up and he was trying to think of things he could do to save it all. He couldn't lose her.
For a second, he watched the door. He knew that the only thing he could do was leave her for a little while to settle so he walked away, hoping he could repair it all.
Daisy looked around at her friends before watching him walk away from the window.
She climbed into her bed, tucked herself into the covers in her normal clothes and cried herself to sleep, wondering what he had done wrong this time.

Jercy AU in which Jason looks like Kronos, a Percy - Rhea.
So this is a really interesting idea here and i love it!!
(Unrelated, but at first glance, i miss read this and thought of an old favorite fic called Confused By Time by Dragonswoe on AO3 (its percy x kronos))
For this au my brain immediately goes to heavy animosity between Jason and Percy
But first there are a few changes that legally must be set up
1) kronos does not use Luke as a host to rise, Luke is more like a pet or a general for the demigod portion of the army.
Something like that just as long as they are physically separate entities.
2) during the titan war, chb and cj have to meet and work together before tlo (this'll be for the war effort or something)
3) i feel like the titan war would be way expanded in the long run with older characters.
4) Jason is respected, feared, and generally disliked. But the people at Camp Jupiter generally trust him and follow his command.
5) Rhea would likely be on the titan's side for the extra punch i want
But anyway
Percy meets Jason the same time Annabeth and Reyna meet
Each camp sent their big powerhouse (percy & jason) + the person they trust most to lead them (annabeth & reyna)
It goes about how you'd expect.
No one likes each other.
Jason and Reyna are fine since they've built that trust, Annabeth and Percy are the same way, but any other combination is just bad.
Objectively, they all know they have to get along for the sake of everyone's survival. But dont count on them being civil in private
Essentially they are all forced to fake friendship up until its literally just the 4 of them
Annabeth and reyna realize they've actually become friends over time first.
Percy and Jason are both distraught at this news.
They still high key hate each other
Circumstances force these two into close proximity. They fight. They calm down. They still can't leave. Someone breaks the exhausted silence.
Idk how they get out, but that is the start of them realizing the other person isnt horrible.
Bla bla bla, something something
percy and jason get closer. Romantic feelings develop
Percy realizes his feeling at the curse of Achilles but he 100% thinks he's gonna die by the end of the war.
Debating if Jason knows about the prophecy.
He probably does.
I legally need a scene where it looks like Percy is about to die. (Im thinking crushed by rubble and trapped (he should also pass out around here))
Jason hopes Percy is still alive and literally tries to dig him out. Annabeth stops him because the structure itself is unstable, and if Percy is still alive they could kill him if further collapse hits his Achilles spot.
Jason leaves to go feral on the battlefield. (This stresses out Annabeth and Reyna further by default)
Reyna takes on leading the battlefield as Annabeth creates a team to get Percy (or his body).
The war ends somewhere after that (im thinking that's like the big final battle grounds)
Not sure if Luke dies by backbitter or if Jason will die by backbitter. (Hero's soul cursed blade shall reap.) It 100% depends on if Luke has a change of heart and uses the last battle for sabotage and as his own personal grave.
Then the war ends kronos is defeated (dont ask me how cause idk), everyone has the party up on olympus
Annabeth and reyna share a kiss like its new years and the ball just dropped (this is not their first kiss but perhaps the first public kiss)
I want jason and Percy to share a kiss, but thats really difficult when theres a chance Jason is dead.
Side note, if jason had died, percy was 100% by his side. Or another outcome would be they both died, and saved their happy ending for elysium.
The named character death count stands between 1 and 3: luke is always gonna die, while jason and percy both have a chance but its slim
Also im thinking about what would happen if jercy got zombified afterwards because of the one big wish. But this is a scenario where only 1 half of Jercy died/survived.
Most of the end id dependant on who lives, who dies, and the surrounding circumstances
I feel like i kinda went off on a tangent and forgot the original ask. My bad

Another specific flavour of Percicobeth where they're both dating Percy, albeit very separately from one another, and they don't really intermingle much, not because they don't want to, but because it's odd. Nico and Percy have this friends with benefits thing going on that Percy is very clearly trying to turn into a real relationship but Nico is refusing because he already thinks his existence in Percy's bedroom is crossing a line and while he knows Annabeth's okay with it, he also knows that she comes first and isn't looking forward to the day she changes her mind. He doesn't mind just sex, but anything more intimate than that scares him because it could leave if Annabeth ever changes her mind so he darts away from anything too soft and romantic just to keep his own sanity.
But she's supposed to be visiting her dad for two weeks and so Percy's convinced him to spend the time with him, no pressure, just some fun, and neither of them are paying much attention when the weather changes and Annabeth's flight changes a couple days earlier than anticipated. She manages to catch the alert a couple hours ahead of her new flight time and rushes to the airport, probably forgetting a sock or two, doesn't manage to update Percy until she's already landed and in a cab to their place.
She expects Nico to still be there. She doesn't expect them to be fucking the couch. Nico is on top and shiny with sweaty. His hair's all messed up and Percy is gripping him like he wants to permanently imbed his fingerprints into Nico's skin. There's a flush of hickeys all over his throat, his chest, trailing down to his leaking cock.
Nico is so far gone he doesn't notice her walking in. She doesn't know what to do, stuck standing in the doorway. She's aware she needs to close the door. So she does. Distantly she thinks she should probably be on the other side. It clicks but neither of them notice, too far gone in each other.
They come, one after the other, and she exhales shakily. Her bags are still gripped tight in her hands. Her palms hurt.
Percy is the first to notice her. He brightens up. Then panics when he realizes Nico is on top of him. It's not embarrassment - just worry for Nico. Throws a blanket over him. It's a throw that her dad got them as a housewarming gift, something to make the place pretty.
It does make Nico look pretty, she thinks. Warm and cozy, tucked around his shoulders. For about a second before he notices her and freaks out. Shadows kick up around him, grabbing at his clothes with black transparent hands and dragging him away before she can say hello.
She should've turned on the main lights when she walked in. Percy hates the "Big Light", doesn't turn it on if he can help it, prefers dim lighting and soft tones, but Annabeth likes harsh brightness, helps her see better. Illuminates her plans.
She keeps the main light off though, as Percy sits up, distress cresting his face. He doesn't like when Nico bails on him. Doesn't want it to be just sex and the occasional dinner. Wants it to mean more, matter more, to the both of them.
She apologizes for not knocking, explains the flight issue and gives him a bar of chocolate from the airport. Later, when he's cleaned up, miseries drained down the tub, he kisses her cheek and tells her that Nico says he's sorry. She wishes he told her himself, so that she could tell him that there's nothing to apologize for. But it's been months and aside from a wave emoji on her end, their chat box sits empty.
The second time she walks in on them is a couple months later. Her and Leo's work night ends with a fire and the Hephaestus cabin kicking them both out of the workshop. She wishes she'd paid more attention to Luke's lessons on picking locks but cie la vie. Grabs Blackjack and flies home. Feeds him some sugar cubes and apple slices, before heading off the roof and down to her tiny happy apartment.
They're in the bedroom this time. She hears them, loud and clear. Her hands itch. She's not sure if she should leave or not but the decision is made for her when Percy suddenly swears and appears in the hallway, rushing to the bathroom. She peeks into the bedroom, where Nico is lying down.
He startles when he sees her but doesn't run. His lower half is covered by a sheet, but the tent makes it clear he was not satisified. "Percy forgot he's supposed to be on shift in ten minutes," he says.
She leans against the doorway, listening to Percy cause a ruckus in the bathroom. "He's not supposed to work today though."
"Someone called in sick this morning. He agreed to fill in. Then forgot." He looks miffed. She knows he covets time with Percy as much as Percy covets time with him, but part of her wonders if it's the stiff lack of fulfilled pleasure down below that's really pissing him off.
She hears herself speak before the words catch onto her conscious. "You want some help with that?"
He blinks at her and she wonders if she can pretend she didn't say anything at all. Although... Nico doesn't look half-bad in this lighting. Didn't look half-bad the last time she saw him either.
Percy rushes in, damp and missing a sock. He kisses them both on the cheek and flocks out of the apartment. The air sits weird between them for a minute.
Then, "Um. I can handle it myself."
Once again her mouth moves before her brain can catch up. "Better with company though, right?"
She hasn't moved from the doorway, but she's itching to. She wants to settle on the edge of the bed, and jack him off. Wants to watch his face when he comes. Wants to add her teeth to the marks on his neck. She wants to crawl inside his skin and making a fucking home.
The sudden possessive urge freaks her out, but instead of backing out and leaving him to his own devices, she shoves off the doorway and powers forward. She stands awkwardly at the side of the bed.
Their bedframe is low to the ground because that was what was on sale, so she's much taller than he is and it feels imposing but gives her a rush of power that makes her dizzy. She doesn't move though. Waits for his response with piercing gray eyes.
Distantly she knows she's making that face that Percy says scares other people, that makes it seem like she's contemplating their murder or planning on cracking open their skulls to examine their brains. But Nico has never been one for fear so she doesn't bother trying to reign it in. Nico doesn't look scared anyway. Just confused and a little nervous.
Then he pulls away the blanket and gestures loosely at his dick. Immediately both their gazes split away from one another. Neither of them can look at each other, staring pointedly at Nico's flushed cock as Annabeth wraps a hand around it. He's throbbing and close to the edge, and it doesn't take very long to get him to spill messy over her fingers.
She cleans herself off with tissues and steps aside when he gets up to the bathroom. Surprisingly he stays for another hour before he takes off. They don't talk about it though, but it's the only thing on Annabeth's mind. The hitch of his breath, the way his hands clenched the sheets, the very restrained sound of his voice, trying to hold back all the moans he makes for Percy.
Three weeks later Percy is babysitting Estelle at his mom's and Annabeth is alone, trying to stop herself from revising another blueprint before Leo finally snaps and kills her over it. The documentary she's watching is really boring though so she's flickering through other options and pointedly ignoring the plans tucked in the corner.
She's wondering if she should just take the risk of Leo strangling her over having to redo his work for the seventeenth time when Nico appears from the shadows.
"Percy's at his mom's," she says.
He rubs the back of his neck. "I know. I came to see you."
She peeks back over the screen of her laptop again. That's a first. Normally he avoids her like the plague. "Yeah?"
"Yeah." He coughs nervously. "I thought- I thought I should return the favour. From before."
She blinks owlishly, a little lost, when she remembers. Her entire body burns suddenly. Her thoughts about blueprints and plans and Leo killing her disappear. The replacement thoughts are filled with Nico's thin fingers and his mouth and his body writhing beneath hers and-
She clears her throat. "Okay." She hopes she sounds more confident than it felt. She sets aside her laptop, and folds the blanket over. "Go ahead."
He looks a little nervous, but heads up to her. She wonders what Percy would think. If this is something they should clear with him first. But then Nico is nervously tugging at her waistband and she decides Percy will be fine with it. He's always been kinda good at sharing with her anyway.
Nico's hand is much cooler than Percy's. His hand disappears beneath the boxer shorts she stole from Percy. It's methodic rub, like he's practicing something he read online. He doesn't look at her. Doesn't look anywhere really. Just breaths quietly, one hand down her pants, the other gripping the side of the bed.
She parts her legs just a little bit and he takes the initative to go lower, collecting slick with two fingers and dragging them back up to her clit. Then his free hand comes up to part the buttons of her shirt until her breasts spill out. His mouth seals around a nipple. His knee comes up to rest beside her thigh. The angle cannot be comfortable but aside from some deeply heavy breathing and squirming on her end, she's refusing to move.
Nico is like a stray cat to her. Move too suddenly and he'll run away.
She really doesn't want him to run away now.
His eyes flicker up for catch her gaze and she whimpers, gives a mental "fuck it", and slowly brings her hand up to run through his hair.
Her other hand pushes on his wrist, moving him down between the folds of her sopping pussy. He takes the clue and slips in two fingers at once. His palm presses against her clit. He struggles with it, trying to work his fingers inside her while stimulating her clit, and it's cute, it's sweet, it's maddening. He clearly read up on it before he came to her, probably saw the whole "vaginal orgasms are difficult to achieve and uncommon", and wants to do a good job. He is doing a good job though. Pulls his mouth off her tit so he can focus. His forehead presses against her sternum. His hand works faster. Squelching sounds echo as she whines. She can feel him rocking with her. If she had enough sense to look down she'd probably see him stiff as a board on his pants.
When she comes, he stops. He seems to be holding his breath. Aside from light shaking and heavy breaths she doesn't move. She doesn't want to scare him away. Her hand is still in his hair.
Then slowly he detracts. Licks at his fingers curiously, then cleans them off with a nearby tissue. He does not look at her but he is all she wants to see right now.
"That-" He falters.
"I liked it," she offers.
He goes pink and studies his shoes. His dick is still evidently hard in his pants. "Me too," he murmurs.
She points at his crotch. "Want some help with that?"
His flush deepens but he doesn't say no. She gets him off quickly and he doesn't leave. Just curls up into her side and picks a movie to watch. She pets his hair the whole time. Hours later Percy comes home, delighted to see Nico.
Late into the night, she wakes up to the two of them fucking quietly beside her. Rolls onto her side and watches. Fingers herself to the sight. When they notice her, Nico lets out a choked noise and comes against Percy's stomach, then watches greedily when Percy sinks down and gets her off with his mouth. She can almost see him studying Percy, making mental notes about how to do it, what she likes best, what makes her keen and gasp his name.
Percy's not stupid. He seems to put it together easily when Nico doesn't dart away every time Annabeth comes home or breaths in his direction. If anything he seems happier. Nico sticking around more means he gets to bully him into dinners and lunches and romantic picnics at the bottom of the ocean.
Nico's still got that startled energy of "this could all collapse at any moment so I'm going to guard my heart as fiercely as possible" going on, but as Annabeth drags him out on dates to movies and fancy restaurants Percy hates going to, he seems to settle a little more and more. He still turns bright red and splutters when she asks him a year later what he wants to do for their anniversary. Like he's shocked she considers him more than just a fuckbuddy to gang up on Percy with, but when she grills him about what he considers dating to be and if that is not what they've been doing this whole time, he flusters but agrees with her.
He takes her to Italy, for their anniversary.
Their relationship is a strange thing, and despite his involvement with the two of them, it still feels separate from Percy. Sometimes there's Percy, Nico, Annabeth, the three of them curled up around one another, and other times it's just a duo eating dinner around a table and talking about the day. Her love for Nico is different from her love for Percy and his love for her is the same way. She couldn't define it properly if she tried.
But it's hers. It's his. It's theirs.
That's all that matters.

Review: ‘A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers’, Percy Jackson Episode 5
**Spoiler Alert for the entire book!**
I would like to start this review off on the nature of adaptations and when to go astray, given the less-than-stellar dip in quality of episode 4. Inevitably, details must change from the source material, some things are unfilmable. The source material in question here is in first person, which leaves so much of the story outside the protagonist’s head unwritten.
Had this season been given, say 10 episodes, and worked to establish the side characters we watch fight and die in the name of the gods and their friends later down the line, no one would have complained. Characters I won’t name (but iykyk) that got criminally little ‘screen time’ during Percy’s POV in the later books, only to have incredibly tragic demises were sad enough. Now imagine if, assuming the Disney show can accomplish filming all five books, we got to see these characters grow for all five seasons.
The era of TV we find ourselves in treats filler as universally bad and unacceptable. Plopping down on your couch on a weeknight to watch an off-beat episode of that cop drama you love or that addictive doctor show, or teen romance, that didn’t require your full attention all the time because every scene was important to the plot doesn’t happen anymore. An episode that was funny or charming or a romantic little side quest putting the characters we love in interesting circumstances is now far and few between. It still told the grand story, even if it didn’t service the grand plot. That’s the nature of television.
The filler everyone complains about is when it’s uninteresting, contrived, and very clearly for no other reason than to pad the runtime. Taking a C-list monster and giving her an unnecessary monologue and a need to ‘hunt’ that wasn’t in the book? Boring filler.
Cutting back to camp and really selling us on how Luke is an awesome dude looking out for all the younger kids so he can twist the knife later? Good filler! He’s the main villain of the series (besides you know who) and we got so little of him in the books because it was limited to Percy’s POV. Build his relationships with Chiron, Beckendorf, Silena, Clarisse, the Stolls, and the other demigods he ends up turning Dark Side with him. Make him the lovable everyman because he really did love the kids. He hated how the gods treated them. Die hard book fans, if the writers really went for it and understood why his character does what he does, would have loved it.
Now onto the episode that I was hoping and praying would be more like episode 3 than 4.
So. They included the snipping of the thread. And Percy wasn’t there to see it, nor was it at all as creepy and foreboding as it should have been. I kept waiting for them to flash back to Percy’s experience in the river with the naiad and they didn’t. Maybe they ran out of under-water effects budget. Percy’s “maybe my dad does love me” tonal whiplash is disappointing since 90% of the river scene was lost (and he didn’t even come out of the water dry).
Ares’ casting isn’t what I pictured but it fits really well and I can’t place why. His features don’t really feel *godly*. Him starting Twitter wars is wonderfully petty and absolutely in-character. He just acts like an unhinged jerk, not the God of War, as funny and entertaining as it is.
It is also disappointing that Annabeth is the one that snarks to Ares and not Percy, because his attitude is what eggs on their big fight on the beach while she and Grover actively try to tame Percy’s temper. The episode, to this point, is *fine*.
Everything after… I was laughing at the absurdity. The absolute deadpan confusion on their faces when “What is Love” starts playing like the mixer accidentally edited in a track from their Spotify. The set designers forgetting that “Waterland” is a waterpark, not just an amusement park. Grover being unrecognizably sly and confident in front of Ares when he wasn’t supposed to be there at all. Some of the dry attempts at humor, like Percy’s “I think I heard this at an orthodontist” line, not in itself funny, but his dry delivery was.
Grover’s ongoing conversation trying to probe Ares is hilarious, even if that’s not Grover on screen. It’s not bad, it’s just… not Grover. Percy and Annabeth’s jaunt and awkward exposition and line delivery in the Tunnel of Love is also *fine*. Them hyperfocusing on the Fates’ string this episode is another *interesting* change and so is Percy’s second attempt to sacrifice himself in a scene that’s way more dramatic than it needed to be. Boy is all teary-eyed convinced he’s going to die here in this trap when, in the book, he was trying to get Annabeth to move her behind because she was petrified by robotic spiders. She has her come-to-Jesus moment here, which was sorely needed for this version of her character who, up to this point, had very little depth.
And there are no robot spiders. Did they not have the budget for robot spiders? Is Percy not allowed to have the rest of his powers? Were they too afraid of giving Annabeth a phobia? Did they just desperately need to inject some angst into this scene? All of the angst, to the sound of heartbreaking violins in a score that also went way too hard. Nobody seriously thought Percy was going to bite the dust here, did they?
Overall, this is better than 4, but not as good as 3, if I had to rank them. If you pretend this isn’t supposed to be the first season of at least five, Grover likely doesn’t seem like a problem. His whole arc, across all five books, is gaining self-confidence and courage. He can’t grow into a brave Lord of the Wild if he starts his journey back-talking the God of War.
Annabeth not having her entirely useless panic attack over the spiders and forcing Percy to have to save them was the main takeaway from the original trip to Waterland. She’s not perfect, but this flaw is also entirely outside of her control, it’s in her blood as a child of Athena. It’s ridiculous that someone as smart and strong and cunning as she is can be petrified by spiders – but that’s the point.
The commentary on how the gods, as a family, constantly backstab each other was interesting. Not sure that this episode was the best place for it, but it’s nice that it exists.
The changes that were made were entertainingly confusing. It was not what I ordered, but I didn’t hate what I was served. Ares is easily the best part of this episode, but it is glaringly obvious that this show, whether by budget or the Powers That Be, is allergic to action scenes.
Here’s to hoping they saved all their eggs to drop in the basket of the big climactic beach brawl, because this is still an action-adventure series, not just adventure.

Ok first off @rose-wild inspired me to do this idea. Their post mashed my two interests currently Taylor Swift and Heros of Olympus. Here is some of the ones I could come up with currently.
Piper is definitely- High Infidelity
Especially Lost Hero vibes when she like imma traitor slay. Also if you like the Piper sapphic headcannon then you can imagine the other “guy” as Annabeth. And the whole lost love aspect works well with her and Jason’s romantic relationship
Nico- You’re Own Your Own, Kid
The yearning. Him learning that Percy would never care for him in the same way. Not just that but like the concept of him trying and not being appreciated. The blood soaked gown being him in Tartarus seeing things they(I guess his friends) won’t take away. But the song is not all doom and gloom with the ending. That losing things is apart of life of living
Annabeth-Would’ve, could’ve, should’ve
I know she was really young when she liked Luke and I don’t remember any instance were he encouraged this behavior. But I can imagine Annabeth regretting all the good times she had with him. The feelings that are muddled. That won’t die. I’m not trying to implie she should feel guilty I just think she would.
Hazel- The Great War
Ok so this one I had to think about then I heard this line
Tore your banners down took the battle underground
Hazel has her like underworld manipulation stuff. I think the you in the song can be multiple characters from her mom,Nico and Frank. Most of the more explicit fighting imagery I imagine the Titian she raised in Alaska. I understand this is a song about a romantic relationship under heat, but the lyrics can be stretched to talk about family too. Also the more romantic lyrics I think about Frank wanting her to be more open with him.
Frank-Snow on the Beach
Ok this one took a lot of deliberation and I still don’t know if it fits as well as the others. But think about the beginning of Son of Neptune. Frank had a huge crush on Hazel and presumably liked her for awhile. So when she showed her affections back and their relationship grows. I can imagine this song being his internal monulogue. Also he is a Demi god he didn’t think he was even going to live this long nevertheless have a girlfriend
