I’ve been going through and reading every part of @morganbritton132 ‘s Eddie Munson TikTok au because it is SO good but I am especially obsessed with their idea that Lucas became an emergency room doctor

Lucas still remembered the night this all had started. He remembered the school gym packed with Hawkins High Seniors in their tuxes and dresses, the disco ball turning overhead as everyone danced to the music blaring from the speakers. He remembered the gym doors flying open and the room getting deadly quiet as everyone there caught their first glimpses of what had just crawled out of the angry red rift that had opened up in the center of their small Indiana town. The first time they saw what was about to bring on the end of the world. Max had grown up being a tomboy, making sure everyone knew she was tough and could handle everything. A month away from high school graduation, she would've said she was ready to take the big step into the unknown, ready to take on anything life threw her way. A couple weeks later life threw her a zombie apocalypse.

Midnight Whisperings.

No one could have guessed that the apocalypse would have been silent. But it was, right this second in the instant that they were all living. In that small tent that they shared, barely space for both of them and they still made it work somehow. Maybe the sky was trembling with dark clouds and the air was humid and smelt like iron. Silence still reigned.

Lucas had tried to convince her to stay up there, with their parents. But Max didn't listen to him. "Of course I'm not staying here, I'm going" and with a defeated sigh Lucas could only nod and accept it.

Everyone else had already gone to sleep, or at least that’s what they could guess as the only thing that could be heard was the rustling of the ground beneath them both as they moved to a position in which they both could see the hole that was in their tent, the reddish night sky peeking through it, not a star in sight just clouds and more darkness.

“Will we ever not have to be here?” The question was not directed towards Max specifically, maybe to the world, the world they were in now at least.

“We have defeated things like this in the past, most probably we’ll be able to do it again” she sighed her answer, she couldn’t speak with certainty even if she was quite stubborn, but she knew first-hand that it wouldn’t be easy for a group of teenagers to defeat an outer-worldly creature that is out for them specifically.

“Most probably” he turned his head to her even if she was still focused on the sky.

“You know I can’t assure you a single thing.”

“I’m not blaming that one on you, you’ve suffered enough to tell me that we are able to do it just ourselves.”

“Right” Max breathed out, turning her head and finding her nose touching his, her breathing getting a little caught up and down to a minimum.

Their eyes were looking into each other’s, mouths agape breathing the cold air of the night as they tried to keep warm without making things worse for them. The apocalypse wasn’t somewhere they could explore whatever feelings they had even if everyone around them insisted that they do, Dustin had even told them to “find a little happiness in this mess”.

But there was too much to talk about when it came to them, even if it was obvious what would happen in the end. The longing glances and the small “accidental hand touches”, the way that when they were in danger they were only looking if the other was fine and the rest came in second, it was obvious that they knew too, neither of them was stupid, they have never been even if he was all too oblivious for some time, and she tried to ignore it for some other.

The apocalypse was too quiet to say something that should be said out loud or that was what Lucas thought. On the contrary, the grumbling clouds were too loud for Lucas to hear what Max felt.

Lucas has barely touched his gin before he turned to the woman who plopped down on the barstool next to him. She was his age, and loose red hair strands fell on her forehead as she called the bartender.

Lucas meandered his drink as the woman ordered. He fiddled with his phone as she sipped her drink, eyes crossed beneath dim lights. She still hasn't looked at him.

"Hey," he lowered his voice, "do you come here often?"

"No." She grinned into her drink.

"What brings you here, then?"

“If I tell you,” she narrowed her eyes at him, “I’d have to kill you.”

"Ah." His gaze dropped back to his glass, "I'm a good listener?"

She hummed, "How good are you at keeping secrets?"

"I'll swear on my baby niece's life."

"Good." Her eyes swept through the other patrons before she leaned towards him. As if under a trance, he leaned closer towards her, magnetized by freckles and a promise of a secret.

"So, will you tell me your name?” He asked, “Or maybe we could get to unwinding-"

"I cannot tell you my name." He was trapped in her gaze. "But if you don't get out of here right now, you're going to die."

Lucas furrowed his brows, "now what's that supposed to mean?"

"My mission is strictly confidential, but it's to my sector's knowledge that there is a malicious party plaguing the city. It's my job to exterminate them, and our intel says that their ranger frequents this bar on Saturday nights— Early twenties, in varying blue suits, and flirts with women."

Her eyes are accusatory and Lucas had to hold back a sigh.

"Goddamn, Max."

"Now how was that for mystifying stranger." She woman burst out in laughter.

"That was not what I meant." Lucas groaned as he shot back the rest of his drink,

"Well of course it wasn't," she shook her head, "you broke character, and now we have to start all over again."

Lucas spun his chair so hard he nearly fell off, "I broke character? What the hell was your character even about? You couldn't pick lifeguard or a princess or a-"

"Relax, stalker." Max rolled her eyes and lazily raised her glass to her lips. "I was keeping it interesting," she stated before taking a sip.

Lucas had borrowed the concept from Mike, who told him years ago about how he and El once pretended to be strangers meeting for the first time. It gave him the idea for their first anniversary date since getting back together.

"Do you hate me?" Lucas slumped forward onto the bar, his cheek squished next to Max's glass, the cool condensation grazing his nose.

"Of course not." Max patted his cheek, "My character however-"

Lucas groaned before she could finish, which prompted more laughter from his girlfriend.

"Come on, stalker." Her eyes twinkled, "give me another chance. I'll be serious this time."

"You'll be serious?" he furrowed his brows, "really?"

"Yes, really." She nodded, and raised Lucas's head from the bar by his chin. He followed until he stood by her seat.

“I'll be very serious. No fantasy elements." Her hand moved from his chin and rested on his chest, before she pushed him away.

"You spend too much time with Will," Lucas grumbled as he walked away from the bar, only to come back a few minutes later.

"Hey, pretty." He plopped back on his old seat, "I haven't seen you around before."

"I just arrived a few days ago," she smiled as bashfully as she could.

"Oh?" Lucas grinned, "to stay?"

"Yes. You see, I got this job over at the Church of our Lady Mary. The priest told me they've been having problems with a goat-"

Lucas closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.

Max didn’t mean to overhear a private conversation. But, well, she did anyways.

Steve Harrington is just like her. He likes both.

Stranger Things AU where everyone is mutants at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

Like in the show, Mike, Lucas and Dustin finds Eleven in the woods around the School one evening, a young mutant who has been experimented on by humans (Brenner), when they’re searching for Will after he had an episode (similar to how the Mind Flayer takes him to the Upside Down when he has ‘episodes’, Will’s abilities are precognition.)

The Party dreams of being X-Men when they grow up, idolising the current line up.

Steve, Nancy and Jonathan are all seniors at the School. Steve doesn’t know if he wants to be an X-Man or do something else. Nancy wants to fight for Mutant rights and Jonathan, despite his powers, just wants to do something to do with photography.

Eleven has to go into hiding with Hopper, the leader of the X-Men, when Brenner becomes aware of her presence at the school and starts to cause legal problems for them. Steve saves the kids from Brenner when he invades the school (similar to the school invasion in X2).

Unlike the show, Mike knows that Eleven is with Hopper. He just doesn’t know where and is allowed no contact with her.

Max and Billy join the school a year after Eleven arrives. It’s basically like the second season. Mike doesn’t want Max in the group because he misses El, Will’s episodes are getting worse and Hopper is fighting to give El her freedom.

Lucas crushes on Max hard, and doesn’t realise she feels the same way. Dustin is really jealous, partly because he likes Max, but mainly because he’s envious. Envious because Lucas is with Max (or will be) and Mike is with El (even if he can’t see or speak to her).

Billy’s story would be different. Due to being at the school, meaning he’s away from his dad, added with the support of the teaching staff, Billy is allowed to become a better person. It’s not a quick change, but without the threat of his father over his head, Billy is allowed to be himself.

Will’s severe episodes turn out to be a rogue Mutant (Vecna) using Will as a vessel to spy on the school and return back to their reality. Like the show, they manage to purge Will of his influence.

The X-Men discover enough proof to have Brenner arrested, thus allowing El and Hopper to return to the school.

The school has a ‘ball’ at Christmas. Mike goes with El and Lucas doesn’t go with Max but he does ask her to dance. Like the show, Will gets asked to dance by a girl, so Nancy dances with Dustin.

When the summer rolls around, Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Will go home for the summer. Max, El and Billy stay at the school with the other kids who can’t go home (either due to lack of parents or lack of supportive parents.), allowing for Max and El to finally become friends. Billy, Steve, Nancy and Jonathan graduate the school, although Billy stays on as a member of support staff (including being a lifeguard at the school’s pool).

Whilst working, Billy becomes Vecna’s next vessel, desperate for revenge after being purged and denied a way home.

Max and El discover Billy’s possession, and try to report it to Hopper and the X-Men, but Hopper is investigating strange electrical disturbances in the New York area so they reach out to Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Will. Dustin, however, is having his own adventure with Steve and Robin, a mutant Steve befriended at school, after intercepting news about a Russian team of mutants, that are working somewhere in the area, who wish to free Vecna, so Mike, Lucas and Will are the only ones who return to help, although Will is frustrated as he had been excited about a summer with no girls and just his friends, like the way things used to be.

No annoying break up arc in this.

The story essentially plays out like season 3, although minus the spider monster. Instead, Vecna just tries to use Billy’s body to kill El himself. The three groups eventually converge, with the X-Men defeating the Russian team of mutants and stopping their plans to free Vecna. With the unfinished ‘gate’ destroyed, Vecna’s connection to Earth is severed permanently, leaving him to die in his dimension, and freeing Billy.

Season 4 doesn’t play out because everyone deserves to be happy.
