Hey guys. So as a lot of you know I was supposed to be moving out next week but I had to drop out of uni and as a result the accomodation I was going to move into isn't an option anymore. You also know that my home situation is abysmal and severly detrimental to my mental health, but I'm currently trapped here because of everything that is going on with my mother and her bullshit.

I need help raising the money to save for a security deposit and first month's rent because my financial situation is shit on account of me being too mentally ill to work and on disability, and as a result of my mother giving me zero breaks with the rent despite wanting me to move out asap. To save on my own would mean me having to wait to move out until next year, and honestly I don't think I can survive that long because I am going insane already, and I haven't been this low in a very very long time. The last time I was this low I ended up in A+E because I was scared about what I would do, and I can't do that again.

I know the world is a bin fire rn, that things are stupid expensive and everyone is strapped for cash, but I don't have another choice at this point. I have to get out of here, and urgently, any help even reblogging the post is greatly appreciated.

The fact that the Duffers didn't make Max a pick me girl makes me want to kiss them on the mouth. They easily could have fallen into the trope of her putting down other girls and hating on anything feminine, but they didn't.

She's sarcastic, skateboards, goes by Max rather than Maxine, and hangs out with little boys and yet she is so excited to meet El at the end of S2! She doesn't see El as competition she sees her as a friend! During

S3 we see that Max is an actual feminist icon as she encourages El to find herself outside of her relationship with Mike. We see Max's feminine side which she is not at all ashamed of.

And the fact that they made El and Max so close after El's initial jealousy toward her in S2 feels so special to me. All of S2 Max just wants to be a part of the party, specifically she wants Mike to accept her into the party (because he's really the only one gatekeeping lol) and Max fully realizes that the reason why Mike doesn't want her in the party is because he misses El and doesnt want to feel like they're replacing her.

So it would have been so easy, made sense even, for Max to be jealous of El or to resent her. Especially after El is cold to her when they first meet. But she isn't and she doesn't! Idk I just love Max a lot and I will always be grateful to the Duffers for not Ginny Weasleyifying her.

I have had a vicious gripe with the dbros ever since the 1st episode of season 4 where that "easter egg" "I'm just trying to be normal, Billy" can be heard on the TV in the background while Max is feeding her dog. Only for the duffers to apologize and say the easter egg was a fucking "accident."

In case you didn't know, that dialogue was from an episode of a series called Misfits of Science. The characters in this series have abilities.

In the specific episode Max was watching, there are characters named Billy and El (coincidence). Billy asks another character (Gloria) to use her abilities and they have an exchange like this (Which is the one heard on Max's TV).

BILLY: Gloria. Look, this is your old friend Billy talking here. You know, you just—it’s just a little favor and I don’t think it’ll matter.

GLORIA: I’m trying to be normal, Billy!

Again. This is the accident they claim.

Anyway the episode progresses and they travel to an ancient underground temple (in California btw) and there are symbols on the wall, when translated, mean something that would absolutely remind me of Billy.

"Will I leave only this? Like flowers that wither. Will nothing last but my name?"

As I said.

This was all a fucking "accident" and supposedly none of it means anything. And that's why I do not trust the dbags to put any thought into anything. Everything's just a coincidence. Or an accident.

They picked that specific episode to play at that specific scene in that specific moment from a show that has characters named Billy and El and they travel to California to a temple with symbols that translate to a sad quote that reminds you of Billy Hargrove's tragic death.

But Billy still showed up that season, so who is to say, really? They just lie I guess?

In Turnabout Goodbyes, Maya can barely reach out to Mia, which is a huge insecurity of hers and which results in her deciding to leave for Kurain after the trial

But in Farewell, my Turnabout, she's strong enough to force Mia out of Pearls' body -- Pearls, who is established as an extremely powerful channeling prodigy -- even though she's nowhere nearby and hasn't eaten in days

And in Bridge to the Turnabout, she's able to channel Dahlia for 3 days straight while locked in a freezing cold cave

Maya's an absolute powerhouse when it comes to channeling: the only thing that seems to hold her back is her own self-doubt about her abilities, but when she's in a situation where she can't afford to have that doubt, she's lowkey terrifying

i finally got round to watching the last episode of Inspector Morse, i have watched quite a few episodes in the last year but i've never really managed to get into it, i think i'm just too attached to Endeavour.

anyway, my point is that i'm just very emotional about Morse and Jim Strange. they had a friendship (albeit a complicated one) that lasted for 30+ years! jim was there when morse died and had his back right until the end! morse was always a terrible friend, he lets jim down at important moments and he never fully trusted him (with good reasons at times - the masons being one of them) and yet jim is always there even when morse is pushing him away. Jim has no idea about Morse's feelings for Joan, he just wants his best mate by his side when he gets married.

jim gives morse a place to live, is the only one listening to morse in Zenana with his unexplained deaths theory (and gets himself stabbed in the process), gets him back in CID in s6, needs his help investigating george's death and doesn't give up even though morse doesn't want to know, and in IM he's still there picking up the pieces wherever morse goes.

What i think is interesting is that Jim was brought up by his grandma, i don't think it's ever said what happened to his parents or if he had any siblings. His grandma doesn't seem like a warm and friendly person, did Strange have a lonely childhood too? Does he recognise that loneliness in Morse? i think the pair of them are more alike than morse would care to admit.

It’s awkward at first. Like watching your parents kiss and having to look away to shield yourself from the secondhand embarrassment.

But now Max is… used to it. Appreciative of it, even.

For a while, she was seriously starting to doubt the existence of love. She figured that, if anything, the best she could hope for is to be able to tolerate someone enough to spend the rest of her life with them. To hope that she finds someone who doesn’t take pleasure in screaming at her or raising their fists.

Because all this talk of love and romance and whatever else is fantasy, clearly.

At least, that’s what she thought.

“You gonna pick something or just stare at the tapes forever?” Billy huffs.

He strolls past the couch, playfully nudging her arm and earning an eye roll. It’s Thursday night, which means that Steve has brought home an abundant selection of movies before they all get snatched up for the weekend at the video store. It also means that Lucas is curled up on the sofa next to her.

Movie nights used to be tense. Billy and Steve wouldn’t sit too close, and their presence, again, felt like that of parents. Like Max and Lucas shouldn’t sit too close either for fear of being scolded.

But, several weeks and a bestowed pack of condoms from Billy later, things are easier.

The blond, rather than finding a seat on the entire open half of the couch, heads straight for the recliner that Steve is already sitting in. Without even looking, Steve spreads his legs and opens his arms.

The beat up old La-Z-Boy gives an eerie creak under their shared weight when Billy eases into his lap.

At one point, Max would have felt awkward for bearing witness to it. Would have avoided looking at that side of the room for the whole evening or even turned in early for the night. But she watches, instead, how Steve’s arms lace around Billy’s waist and pull him closer. How Billy relaxes instantly and smiles when a kiss is pressed to his shoulder, to his neck, and then to his cheek.

It’s nice, she thinks.

Someone is finally being gentle with her brother, and she couldn’t have picked anyone better suited for the job.
