I intentionally leave 6 months or so between every rewatch of the potato war so I can be on the floor wheezing with laughter blindsided by some of the tactics at the end such as 'planning big moves around exam season since Squid Kid's a student' and 'intentional sleep deprivation'

One of my favorite thing mcyts do is buy a whole ass new Minecraft account just for a one off joke it's so over the top and it's so fucking funny to me, like when ren gets the rentheking alt, or when techno gets like 5 alts during the potato wars just to troll squid kid, it's so funny to me zldndkdnd

1) we have “desk man” (miniature mothman who sits on my desk)

2) my gumball and darwin plushies from the amazing world of gumball :] (parents got them for me shortly after my first childhood cat died bc i was obsessed with the show and grieving hard)

3) a garfield plush who’s just garfield (obsessed with the comics when i was younger, i’m normal about them now but i still love garfield comics)

4) and a minecraft baby ocelot named “blue” :D

!!!! they sound wonderful!! heres some of mine :D

1)"learning bear" a bear my twin and I got for our fifth birthday party. he had all those textures and buttons and stuff, y'know, those animals meant to teach kids things. hes got a hat with colors and their nameds on it, his jacket had buttons and zippers, his shoes had velcro and shoelaces, stuff like that. Its kind of obvious why we named him Learning Bear ajdfh

2)I have KFC and Turtle, both of which i got around fifth grade when i got my tonsils removed

3) I have my Khoshekh from wtnv that i got from christmas last year

4) and a bunch of knitted squids and imp guys that i named after various mcyts.

(the squids have various emoticon faces, like two of them have | v | (the pink one is grian, bc of the eyes, and the blue one is skeppy bc i have a black imp named badboyhalo) and another one is doing the =3 face (i named this one scar), and the other one is going like >^< (i named it pearl bc i have an orange imp named Impulse and a white one named Mumbo (bc it looks kinda like it has a mustache) and i wanted to have all of boatem))

fuck Dream or Quackity as Techno’s rival, we all know that squid kid is his true rival... anyway I headcanon both of them as asexual and I did this out of pride month

also, I’m putting my essay about why squid is the perfect rival for techno, fight me

I lied, not about the essay (this is absolutely an essay), this is about them being kismesis because I’m a dirty Homestuck and those were the true meaning of the spades

The purpose of a healthy Kismesis is to help their partner grow through rivalry. This benefits both involved by helping them both improve. [...] This relationship thrives off of the challenge of trying to defeat this person that is eternally an equal. When one kismesis climbs above the other, the need to beat them entices the other to try harder to surpass them, resulting in growth on both ends as they continue the 'dance of antagonism’.When one kismesis is frequently better than the other and gets no challenge, then the relationship will likely fail. (Toxie "A Guide to Healthy Kismesissitude", 2014) This is why Squid kid works as Techno's kismesis much better than Quackity or Dream. Techno will always defeat Big Q and Dream in almost every challenge, and they are all aware of it although Big Q still tries. Squid kid, while not as physically strong, he is just as much into "The Grind" as Techno, which is why even though he keeps beating Squid in various events in Hypixel, Techno still calls for Squid's help when he is stuck. Example, in Techno's most recent video, he calls for Squid help to grind for new armor, since Squid kid remained active during Hypixel, and more knowledgable about the newest updates and events. An important thing about kismesisstude is the fact that they do not want to kill each other. Squid and Techno do not wish that on each other. Dream and, specially, Quackity do want to kill Techno. Killing another one will, under normal/hardcore circumstances, end the relationship and will remove the fun of the challenge. Since is shown that Techno is stronger than both of them, it also is boring to him. Also, if there's no reaction to taunts, the relationship is also boring, similar to a love relationship and one of the partners is the only one showing affection. Example, Technoblade constantly bullies and taunts Dream (ex. green homeless tele-tubby), but Dream doesn't (he mostly reacts, but it's also the same reaction), and so the relationship was never really fun. Squid kid and Techno do constantly taunt each other, usually Squid will say he will beat Techno (and fails), but this causes Techno to continue pushing himself to beat Squid kid, something he doesn't tend to do.

An important part of kismesstude, is the mutual respect to each other. While yes, part of the relationship is taunting your rival and bully them of their own betterment, respect is also an important facet. If one doesn't respect their partner, it will lead to pity or un-satisfaction. Quackity is the former and Dream is the latter. Techno pities Quackity because he clearly doesn't respect him as a fighter because he is obviously so much more weaker in a combat scenario, ex. Techno killed Big Q, who was wearing netherite armor and an axe, while using a pickaxe and an iron armor. The only other reason why Techno still hates Big Q is because he was hunted down by him and Techno always remembers the people who did him wrong. The have only worked together because they saw someone they BOTH hated (The Eggpire) and Q needed someone that was stronger than the Eggheads, and so contacted Techno and Purpled. As for Dream, Techno is clearly unsatisfied with his relationship/rivalry with him. They have worked together in the past in the same way he worked with Quackity, they found someone/something (Tommy/L'Manberg) they both hated and destroyed it, but they were both fully aware they were doing this not because they liked or respected each other, but because they were in the same page of hating someone else. Aside from that, Techno also doesn't respect Dream, or listen to him. Example, Techno owes Dream a favor, and Dream was going to use it during The Vault/Season 2 finale, after everyone came out of the portal, and was texting Techno to log on and help him, but Techno simply didn't. Even though we all know that Techno will join if someone calls for him for lore reason, as shown by Tommy in his "I have The Blade" bit.

While many will argue that Technoblade doesn't respect Squid kid, after all he is the one that taunts and bullies Squid the most, this is incorrect. It's clear that he does, during his second Potato War video, he starts to call people off since Squid got a lot of followers since his previous video. While Squid didn't care, Techno still was mad on Squid's behave for people being so rude to him. Defending him and saying that, while yes, Squid was lucky and got many followers, that doesn't mean that he didn't grasp the opportunity since Squid kid was big part of the reason that the video became to entraining, and also the reason why there was a second and third parts to the Potato War. Squid kid could have said "it's not worth it" but because he didn't and upgraded his farm to compete against Techno, it also forced Techno to better himself through a war that lasted around a year. Let me repeat that, Squid kid forced Technoblade to better himself. That's the point of a kismesis. Someone you hate, but you are more interested on them as a rival and a vehicle to better yourself.

Yes, Mr. Beast's Dream vs Technoblade battle was fun. Yes, Techno's and Quackity's relationship is interesting in Dream SMP. But at the end of the day, it is one-sided. Hell, Quackity literally asked Technoblade out and he noped out of that situation. Squid and Techno are the perfect rivals because even outside of their constant taunting and fighting, they get along and are constantly pushing and helping each other, not for their own betterment, but for the betterment of their rival. Even though Techno barely goes into Hypixel anymore, or does anything really. Even though Squid kid is the dumbest bitch I have ever met. They work much better than Techno's other two options because Squid kid was the only one to have ever pushed Technoblade to his theoretical limit.
