ok i know most mermaid aus have them have the ability to change to legs but it's funnier if they just crawl around. make em flop

among mer squadra some are better at crawling than others. i imagine melone would be the best at it while pesci would have the hardest time. he just rolls

in my personal mer au (i guess this is an au now?) they cannot change to legs just because it is in fact funnier to make them crawl on land haha. pesci does in fact have the hardest time crawling on land, sometimes just opting to sit right on the shoreline while everyone else does what they need to do on land. he's almost kind of a lookout.

then we have sorbet and gelato, who aren't all that interested in being on land but they can KINDA move around if it comes down to it. then formaggio, who can move but not very well. he tends to shrink himself to be carried by his teammates who can move a lot better. risotto is next, being able to move somewhat efficiently. ghiaccio and prosciutto are tied, being able to move well but neither likes it all that much. and then there's melone.

Risotto Nero (Riccio Castiglier)

Specie: Mobula Ray -Devil Fish (Manta-ray) - Mobulidae Family Brief Description: Despite their colossal presence, mantas are gentle creatures. They have the largest brain of any fish, and their intelligence and curiosity make them natural leaders for other fish. its striped tail has a poisonous stinger at the end which only becomes active when it feels close to predators.

Prosciutto

Specie: Gold Marble Angel fish / Pterophyllum Scalare Brief Description: commonly called gold angelfish by the aquarists. The cichlid belongs to the group of angelfish species. This cichlid can gain massive heights due to the oversized dorsal and tail fins that grow past their body’s length.

Ghiaccio

Specie: crocodile icefish or white-blooded fish / Channichthyidae family Brief Description: the Antarctic Icefish lives in the icy cold waters. Most animals, like people, have red blood. The red of our blood is caused by hemoglobin, which carries oxygen throughout our body. Icefishes don't have hemoglobin, thus they have a whitish, nearly transparent blood. Their gills are also white. Despite this lack of hemoglobin, icefish can still get enough oxygen

Illuso

Specie: common octopus (Octopus vulgaris) Brief Description: Training experiments have shown the common octopus can distinguish the brightness, size, shape, and horizontal or vertical orientation of objects. It is able to change colour to blend in with its surroundings, and is able to jump upon any unwary prey that strays across its path. Using its beak, it is able to break into the shells of shelled molluscs. It also possesses venom.

Pesci

Specie: ornate wrasse / Thalassoma pavo Brief Description: native to the rocky coasts This small colorful wrasse is named for its vivid markings: the pinkish head is marked with horizontal green lines; the throat and belly are blue; scales on the fish’s sides are marked by a vertical, crescent-shaped stripe followed by blue. The dark red dorsal fin is highlighted with green spots and traced by green and blue lines. A large dark spot on the dorsal fin and one just behind the eye are useful in identification. The colors are more intense in the larger males

Melone

Formaggio

Sorbet

It is no doubt among the fastest fish,They are frequently found basking at the surface, airing their first dorsal fin. Gelato

Specie: narwhal / narwhale (Monodon monoceros) Brief Description: is a medium-sized toothed whale that possesses a large "tusk" The pigmentation of narwhals is a mottled pattern, with blackish-brown markings over a white background. They are darkest when born and become whiter with age; possibly an evolutionary adaptation to swimming easily under ice, to facilitate rolling, or to reduce surface area and heat loss. Instead narwhals possess a shallower dorsal ridge.

And then Pesci’s a nudibranch (sea slug) and a really colorful one at that too he’s very beautiful. Ghiaccio probably noticed him and was lost staring at the colors for a while before snapping out of it to start screaming at Formaggio and Melone because they were teasing him for it

I know like- none of the mermaids are THAT detailed, but I did have alot of fun with it! Originally the shit around his eyes and on his shoulders was going to be red, but then i decided against it since it might have contrasted too much if you get what I mean? He could just only wear the glasses on shore possibly. But yeah! I hope you like it ClockWork! This will be a multi chapter story.

The merman and the Prince pt1

(Yandere Bruno Bucciallati and Risotto Nero)

Bruno marveled at the strange contraption that drifted on the ocean. It looked like a boat but it was unlike any other the merman had seen before.

It was very small with only enough room to hold the young lady whose (h/c) hair flowed in the breeze. She pedaled the boat with her legs that powered a few nets that were only catching the endless amount of trash that bobbed on the surface while she chucked a few black rock like lumps into the inclosed container, a few black clouds bursted into the sky followed with a chaotic choir of ungodly sounds.

A light flickered around the boat, small wisps of light spread around the boat and grew. The female didn't hesitate to jump before the whole thing combusted. The ravenette male simply watched, with not a clue as to what happened. However that soon changed when he saw that the female was lying face down with no movement. He quickly swam up to the human and turned her on her back.

Her (e/c) eyes were glazed, her body was limp but she was still breathing and still somewhat conscious despite the blood that dripped down her forehead.

"Thank you, I'm so lucky that you're here..." Only just escaped the woman's lips.

"I'll get you to shore, just hang on" Bruno simply replied while he held her and slowly made his way to the shoreline.

Once he had brought her to a secluded beach he set her down.

"Thank you so much... I would have been a goner if it wasn't for you" she muttered, her eyes trying their best not to shut.

"No it's alright bella-" he was quickly cut off when she quickly sat up and looked at his partially exposed tail.

"Wow, you have such a beautiful tail..." She gasped as the looked at his fin, she was absolutely awestruck by the white and black appendage before falling back on the sand as she fell unconscious. The male wanted to keep an eye on her but that plan was forgotten when he saw someone in the distance.

Bruno quickly swam back out to sea and dived under the waves. Hoping that he would meet the beautiful human again.

You woke up as you felt you body rock. You opened your eyes to see that you were in the royal carriage. You looked forward to see the sharply dressed male named Prosciutto, who had a rather angry expression.

"What did the prince tell you about those gadgets of yours?" the male hissed.

"That they're dangerous... And that a princess shouldn't be doing such heavy work" you sighed.

"Absolutely" he said before taking a puff of his cigar.

"And thanks to your little unannounced day trip the whole castle is in panic, the prince was about to put heads on the block" he sighed as the smoke escaped his mouth.

"Well if he didn't want a problematic fiancee then he should have just taken the real princess he was originally offered and not the daughter of a sailor..." You muttered under your breath.

"I would of had it the same way but the prince insisted you by name" he growled before the carriage stopped.

"You better say your prayers before you see the prince because I'm sure that he's not going to be happy" Prosciutto simply said as he opened the carriage door and helped you out and followed you into the castle.

"I'd suggest you see Melone first before approaching the prince, your head injury will probably send him into a-" Prosciutto said but was soon cut off by the sound of glass smashing.

"Tantrum..." You muttered.

"I wouldn't be talking about Risotto like he was a child if I were you" He spat.

"Where the hell have you been?!" Ghiaccio screeched as he stormed down the stairs.

"Do you know how much I've had too put up with since Prince Nero and I returned!" He yelled as he waved his finger in your face and you replied with a simple roll of the eyes.

"Don't you give me that sass! You are going to be in so much trouble!" He hissed before prosciutto pushed you towards Lord Melone's quarters.

"Just tell the prince she's back now and that she will meet with him before dinner" the blonde Said.

🔱🔱🔱

A few hours had passed and Melone had stitched up the cut on your head. You just hoped Risotto had calmed down.you knocked on the door of your shared quarters.

"Risotto... It's me" you sheepishly called out and within a matter of seconds the door opened.

"Where were you?" He asked in a cold tone as his dark eyes looked down on you.

"I-" you were going to explain before he cut you off as he saw the stitches on your forehead.

"You were making your inventions, weren't you?" He asked as his expression darkened.

"Yes... But I think that it would benefit the kingdom-" you said before he harshly grabbed your chin with his strong hand.

"No buts, I've given you a life that anyone would kill for... Yet you disrespect me by disobeying my orders!" He hissed as he pulled you in, closing the door behind you.

"I never asked for a life like this, you could at least give me a little freedom after taking me away from my family. You made my kingdom give me away in fear that you would start a war with them!" You argued.

"To be honest I feel that my affections towards you are just out of obligation!" You continued.

"Take that back!" He yelled.

"No!" You yelled back before your head snapped to it's side. You held your sore cheek in your hands as you tried to register what happened. You looked up at Risotto in shock, he had never laid a hand on you like this.

"(Y/n)..." He muttered. He was as shock as you were. He felt betrayed by himself that he'd done such a thing.

"(Y/n), I'm-" he tried to apologize as he tried to wrap his arms around you but you pushed him away.

"Leave me alone!" You screamed as you ran out of the room and down the hall before locking yourself up in one of the many spare rooms.

"You've really messed up this time your majesty" Melone sighed to Risotto as he entered his room with his arms folded. The prince only groaned.

"She may look like a doll but unlike a doll she won't stay where you put her and you have to accept that" Melone explained.

"Are you just here to scold me?" Risotto asked in irritation.

"No, it's my duty as one of your eight advisors to help guide you in becoming a great king" he explained.

"You should just leave her alone for a few hours, then apologize"

"And I mean a heart felt apology, not just a standard I'm sorry" the blonde said as he began to make his leave before standing in the doorway and turning his head back.

"And if you really want to get back in her good books you should pleasure her... Maybe-"

"Just leave"

🔱🔱🔱

"(Y/n)" you heard Risotto call from beyond the door but you didn't respond. He opened the door to see you laying on the bed facing towards him.

"(Y/n) I'm so sorry, I don't know what overcame me" he muttered.

"I'm sorry too, I said something very hurtful towards you..." You replied as you sat up.

"I promise I'll never lay a hand on you like that again" he said as he hugged you.

You knew that his apology was sincere and you couldn't hate on hid forever because you knew you had feelings towards him. You gasped lightly as he leaned his body on-top of you causing you to fall onto the bed. He began to pepper your skin with soft kisses. This was a side of himself he only showed to you, a softer persona from his usually intimidating one.

"And I'll consider your proposal about cleaning the ocean" he said.

"Really, but how did you even know?" You asked.

"Forrmagio found your blueprints and showed me, I won't have you making anymore machines but I could have servant's work to clean it if that is what you wish" he explained. You were happy that Risotto was open to your idea but he also made you angry with his continuous denial to allow you to  work on the machinery that you were so passionate about, you had been fixing ships since your early teens, it was in your blood.

"You can take a sailor away from the sea but you'll never take the sailor out of the man" you muttered what your father use to tell you as you pushed the male off and turned away from hi.

"Fine, after I return from my next voyage we will negotiate over that" he sighed but you still had your back turned.

"I'll also let you go out from now on... But my only condition is that you have one of my advisors with you" he sighed again as he hugged you from behind, at this point you just let him as your mind seemed to wonder about the stranger that saved your life.

"So the prince wants me to babysit you, ridiculous!" Prosciutto scoffed as he followed you as you walked along the sandy beach.

"Pretty much" you scowled.

"Well I suppose it makes sense since last time you nearly drowned" the male scoffed. It had been a week since that eventful day.

You stay silent after that and tried to keep a few feet ahead of prosciutto until you saw a body in the distance. You ran as quickly as you could. As you got closer you could see the males features. It was the man that saved you. You quickly got to his side and tapped his face trying to get a response from him, the male gave no response but the rise and fall of his chest was enough to reassure you that he was alive.

"Prosciutto! Come quick!" You yelled.

"A man washed up on shore so what?" Prosciutto sighed.

"Just leave the naked man be, he'll come to" he continued as he tried to pull you away. You blushed as you realised that he was infact naked, you could see every inch of the ravenette.

"But Prosciutto, this is the man who saved me from drowning" you explained.

"And what?"

"I want to make it up to him, he did save my life after all, I'm sure Risotto would be grateful to him" you explained.

"Fine" the blonde sighed.

"Good then take off your coat" you ordered.

"Take off my coat? Ridiculous! I will not, do you know how much this costs?!" He hissed.

"Oh... So your just going to let me see a man so indecently exposed, Risotto wouldn't be happy to hear that you would just let my eyes cheat on him" you snarky replied as you folded your arms. The male let out a sigh as he unbuttoned the coat.

"Fine, fine" he hissed as he took it off and put it on the unconcious male.

"I should warn the prince... You'll probably become quite the manipulator" he muttered under his breath as he began to carry the body back to the carriage.

ok the reverse mer au is a one-off thing but: merman ghiaccio. a furious frosty fish man who finds legs absolutely disgusting

I mean I’ve got plenty of things for merman Ghiaccio because I flipped back and forth on making him human or mer (before settling on human) so: 

- constantly demands how humans managed to survive this long with their weak ass bodies

- anything to do with human language is just asking to get yelled at by him

- calls humans pathetic because their bodies can’t even manage water pressure below a few metres (without equipment or long adjustment) nor breathe underwater nor adjust to temperatures of the water (and yet humans still stupidly go into water)

- legs and land are disgusting

- if you really want to get him going though, just mention anything mermaid fairy tale related.

I finally finished this!!!! :D idk when I started this pic but I’m glad it’s finally done!

So allow me to finally explain the different species (with lore bits)

Incubus / Succubus demons like Melone usually have more human toned skin unlike imp demons such as Formaggio.

Imp demons usually have tails, larger wings, and bluish purple skin.

However Ghiaccio was a special type of demon that can grow crystal like limbs, most typically on the arms.

Most demons have red or orange irises with black scalera. It’s uncommon to have a demon with normal white scalera. As for horns, they come in a variety of reds and blues. Sometimes demons aren’t born with horns... no other reason.

Prosciutto was a Mountain Angel. In this AU, there are specific species of angels depending on where they live. There are Valley Angels, Mountain Angels, and Sea Angels.

Dark Angels are more demon than Angel.

Pesci was a Sea Angel, he didn’t meet Prosciutto when he was normal. The Sea Angels lost their home, (a sea kingdom) along side other sea life that lived there.

The gemstone around Pesci’s neck is like an ancient relic of the kingdom. However once he turned into a parasite, he lost the stone.

Most sea angels have thin veil like clothing pieces that act as fins when they are in water.

Illuso was a Siren. Sirens usually have fish like tails to trick sailors into thinking they’ll find a mermaid, however one look and boom ugly beast. Him, Risotto, and Pesci lived in the same kingdom but never spoke to one another.

Risotto was already infected with shadow parasitic toxins, by the time his home collapsed he was already too far gone.

Risotto was a sea blood sucker, aka merman vampire. He has more manta Ray like qualities, such as a stinger for a tail.

Risotto Nero:

He would be a hellish demon, all with goat horns and wings (probably an Incubus considering his good looks…). 

Prosciutto:

Prosciutto would mostly be a classy, elegant being like a vampire living in an old gothic castle and sipping blood like wine.

Pesci:

A mermaid (or rather merman in his case) who loves swimming in the sea, but he’s just really bad at his job of dragging lost sailors into the ocean cuz he’s too nice.

Formaggio:

Totally would be a werewolf and even if it’s not fullmoon, he still keeps some wolf traits like for example chasing after cats or howling at other people.

Illuso:

Poltergeists are said to scare people by possessing objects, so why not mirrors too? He gets a kick from spooking other people when he suddenly appears in a vacant mirror.

Melone:

He’d be a Naga (you know, half human – half snake from the hips downwards) and likes to hunt his prey by using seduction.

Ghiaccio:

A wendigo, an angry creature with deer horns who lives in the ice cold and hunts everyone who dares to enter his sight.

Bonus:

Sorbet & Gelato:

They would be a pair of zombies, on the hunt for some unfortunate humans crossing their way. Although they are undead, they would still always be found together as an inseparable duo.

JoJo Pirate AU

Bruno's gang are pirates, La Squadra will be all mermen. Obstacle to overcome on their great pirate adventure. The basic premise is Bruno's Crew seeks to find the treasure of the fabled Devil's Sea, but have to prepare for the long journey for it is far away and accidentally fish up Formaggio, causing the rest of the group to come after them, even after they release him. And by release, I mean selling him to the fishermen, from whom he escapes.

Lucre "Landlubber" Abbacchio

is the diva of the crew, insists on visiting every single port, to visit 'the ladies'. Mostly to stock up on rum and select vintage of booze for himself that he hides from the captain, and visits 'ladies' to get more makeup to hide exhaustion and stress.

Fugo

refuses to tell people his actual name and is only known as the "Privateer" for his refusal to be called a pirate and trying to do things 'by the book' even if it's a Pirate's one. Calling him a pirate is a no-no...prepare to be drawn and quartered by him if you do.

Galley Mista

spends more of his time eating than fighting and yet still somehow manages to remain fit. Uses firearms exclusively and insists on only wearing red hats, without feathers, however, cause they make him sneeze. Mediocre in melee fights, only carries a small knife to peel apples. Is proud for not needing a large blade to 'compensate' for anything like the rest of his crew, gets along best with Narancia Gunwale the Master Gunner.

Narancia Gunwale

is the gunner of the crew, relatively short and passes for a girl, which the crew uses to lure in ships, by having him pretend to be the only one left on board or stranded on an island in need of a rescue. Doesn't actually like wearing dresses, due to how heavy they are to swim in as he inevitably ends in the water by either trying to escape or being thrown overboard. Has deadly aim with cannons and firearms, but still carries several knives, one in each boot and an extra tucked into his right sleeve. Enjoys Mista's company and they often compete in shooting, though, at times Narancia is better than Mista, when drunk than when both are sober. Mista refuses to admit it.

Bruno Buccaneer

is the captain, but acts more like a parent to his band of misfits. Has several knives stored in small compartments on his clothes, that are all zipped up, but oiled well to avoid making sound. Causing him to have to wash his hands often granting him the nickname "Sticky Fingers." Though no one dares call him that in his presence. Second only to Abbacchio in age, worries his Cook might be purchasing booze for personal use rather than food making, but doesn't know how to approach the subject without upsetting him.

is the medic on board, though prefers to spend more of his time charming the populace in ports, often swindling and pickpocketing for petty cash, but since he is known for being a doctor, no one believes the victims, for he is polite and well-spoken. Second only to Fugo in terms of education level, but prefers to use his mind for criminal activities rather than bettering himself.

"Purser" Prosciutto, tail of a "sleeper shark".

"Marlinspike" Melone, tail of a nurse shark.

"Island" Illuso, tail of a spotted dolphin.

"Growler" Ghiaccio, tail of a white shark.

"Gibbet" Gelato, tail of a tiger shark.

"Scuttle" Sorbet, tail of a thresher shark.

Risotto

as the de facto leader of the group of mermen, has no nickname, likely due to his intimidating aura and no-nonsense attitude. Boasts the largest tail of the lot, and yet is the most stealthy and agile swimmer, likely due to the dark colour scheme. Is strict and ruthless, but just. Has very sharp claws and teeth and will not hesitate to scratch or bodyslam any that challenge him. Prosciutto is the one responsible for making sure the group is fed and equipped for combat, by organizing hunting trips for prey or raiding parties on ports and ships. Has a habit of licking the gap in his teeth, when thinking, but gets annoyed if someone points it out and can get verbal if not violent, depending on the level of mockery.

Pesci

looks up to Prosciutto as a leader, more so than Risotto, and wouldn't mind if he was the captain, but secretly prefers Risotto to remain in charge for as much as he respects Prosciutto, he could never be like him if he were to be given responsibility, but the calm manner in which Risotto solves things appeals to his more gentle nature. Watch out if you insult his hunting skills though. He is the fastest in the group despite being the heaviest and having second to shortest tail. How he does that, no one is sure, but he has no match when it comes to acquiring provisions, which is why he is often following Prosciutto.

Gelato and Sorbet are rarely present, preferring to go on long hunting trips together, the most vicious and aggressive of the group and thus not really missed when they are gone, unless they need a raiding party or extra help for defending their reef. Gelato often being the one to reel in Sorbet's temper tantrums if he was not given his 'fair' share of the loot, especially if it contained shiny things. Sorbet doesn't care about the value, only the gleam of it and hoards metal and glass objects indiscriminately, and has the sharpest claws that he uses to cut through things. Gelato is the most sleek of the group, while Sorbet's tail is covered in scars from multiple scuffles with other mermen or pirates, for he refuses to flee, unless ordered by Risotto himself. Sorbet Holds Prosciutto in contempt for not 'training' Pesci better and for being too obsessed with appearances and keeping the better looking things for himself. Often clashes with him when dividing the loot. Gelato is more mellow and doesn't care much about what he gets as long as he's fed and has at least a hook to stab with.

Illuso

is often sitting on rocks and showing off to passing sailors, luring them in with sweet singing, and looking like a mermaid and then sending shockwaves with his tail should they try sending a rowboat near him, causing it to capsize. Most vain of the group and often fishes for compliments . Refuses to admit he is wrong on anything, but will back down if called out by the leader or Prosciutto, whom he gets along best with, due to mutual appreciation for finer things.

Formaggio

has the shortest tail and is often considered more of a pest than anything, for his insistence on throwing fishing nets on his sleeping comrades as a joke, freaking them out, but being one of the fastest in the group, second only to Ghiaccio in speed, usually gets away with it. Pesci is faster, but too timid to chase him and he doesn't mess with Ghiaccio anyway, for he does not react well to jokes or pranks due to not understanding the point of it all. Is prone to stealing loot from others, and placing it in other mermen's chosen dens to hide him doing it and provoke conflicts.

Ghiaccio

is the second fastest in the group, though believes himself to be the first in speed, but lacks maneuverability of Pesci and is often left behind, when he rushes into obstacles and sometimes knocks himself out. Has a very cynical and dry sense of humour. Does not understand wordplay, takes things too literally and often becomes frustrated when he doesn't get the jokes Formaggio tells. Doesn't really get along with anyone because of his temper, but is generally feared respected well enough to leave him alone. Has the loudest voice and can shatter glass with his siren screech, though is usually silenced by Sorbet if he's around, to avoid him breaking his 'shinies'.

Melone

is the lightest of the group, second only to Gelato in terms of being sleek, though is much better at taking care of his tail, being the only one in the group without any scars. Spends most of his time grooming himself or toying with any swimmers that have strayed too far from the rest. Uses his siren charm to confuse people and make them obey him, by talking to them as if they were a child, giving simple commands that work on a primal, basic understanding. Complicated orders are avoided, due to causing the people to think and break the charm.

Buccaneer: Another name for pirate.

Futtock: A curved timber that forms a rib in the frame of a ship. "One o’ the bits yer trip over."

Galley: A low, flat ship with one or more sails and up to three banks of oars, chiefly used for warfare or piracy and often manned by slaves or criminals. Or the kitchen in the ship.

Gangplank: A removable board or ramp used to board a ship from a pier.

Gibbet: Chains or cages in which the rotting corpses of hung pirates are displayed in order to discourage piracy.

Growler: A small iceberg or ice floe which is barely visible above the surface of the water.

Gunwale: Originally the structure was the "gun wale" on a sailing warship, a horizontal reinforcing band added at and above the level of a gun deck to offset the stresses created by firing artillery.

Lucre: Money, especially when regarded as sordid or distasteful or gained in a dishonourable way.

Lubber:  An awkward, clumsy, unseamanlike fellow.

Landlubber/Land-lubber: The worst kind of Lubber, one that’s never even been to sea before.

Mare: Italian or Latin for "sea"

Marlinspike: An iron pointed tool used to separate the strands of a rope for splicing.

Pelagic: Living in the open ocean rather than coastal or inland waters, taking place in the open ocean

Privateer: Someone who robs at sea or plunders the land from the sea with letters of marque from a government.

Purser: An officer on a ship responsible for provisions and clothing. Such provisions were often sold to sailors on credit against their next payment which meant the sailors never actually managed to keep any of their money when they were finally paid.

Scuttle: To deliberately sink a ship by making a hole in the hull.
