Franny Gallagher HC

I’m on a HC roll today so here are some Franny HC I have.

After an incident, Debbie gets arrested, leading to Ian and Mickey deciding to take her in. Mickey had just gotten onboard with having kids, so they let Franny stay with them.

The first day Franny is very tired and very quiet, clinging to Mickey during the BBQ at the apartment. Mickey notices that all of Frannys clothes are frilly and girly and dresses and so he dresses her in the most comfort outfit she has.

As soon as they get custody, they take her shopping and let her pick out any clothes she wants. Mickey and Ian are very gender-nonconforming when it comes to clothes. Franny picks out mostly dark t-shirts and the only feminine thing is The Little Mermaid because mermaids and trans kids go together v well.

Before school starts that fall, Mickey notices that Frannys hair is really knotty and tangles easy to which Ian just shrugs like “yeah, so did Debs at that age. Guess it’s time for a trim.” Franny is really anxious about cutting her hair short. She does not like her long hair, but the thought of Debbie getting mad at her for not having it “long and pretty” frightens her. Ian and Mickey start to learn that this eventually becomes a major anxiety point for Franny. In the end, Mickey reassures her that he and Ian don’t care about how she wears her hair (just as long as you don’t look like Lip, Mickey jokes.) Franny ends up with a shaggy boyish cut that is still long enough to tie up at her insistence, and she looks like a little long haired Ian with straight hair.

Eventually Franny starts changing her name from Franny, to Fran, and per the twins who cannot say “Fran” the name turns into Finn. This leads to Franny deciding one day to change her name to Finnegan Mikhailo Gallagher. Because “Finnegan Ian would sound weird and Finnegan kind of already has the name Ian in it.” Mikhailo because Mickey is her comfort person. (As soon as Debbie’s rights are officially relinquished, they permanently adopt Finn)

Debbie’s arrest has given Finn mental health issues as well as anxiety.

Finn IS transgender. Transitioning is difficult, more so because of obstacles. Ian and Mickey take everything slow, and take all the right steps. They even get Trevor on board for help and guidelines and whatever else they need.

It’s not until fifth grade that Finn starts to use he/him pronouns.

Finn is the biggest non-Milkovich-Milkovich there is. He loves the shit out of Mickey and wants to be a king of the south side. Ian will not be surprised if Finn comes home with knuckle tats one day.

Finn calls Mickey Baba because the twins couldn’t say Papa and so he became Baba, and he calls Ian Dad. The first time Finn calls them those names is during a period where he is overwhelmed and scared, the name slipping out by accident. Ian and Mickey welcome it.

Finns obsessed with greasers, gangs, all that shit. He loves the book Rumble Fish, and wants a switch blade for his birthday.

It’s a secret, but Mickey does teach him about Shivs and take him to go shooting. These are strict “don’t tell Dad” moments.

14. Secret cute pet name for each other?

They both use pet names for each other a lot more than I think they even realize. They're always like "wtf no we don't use pet names" and everyone around them is like "yeah u do, idiots".

In public, Ian favours calling Mickey "baby" while Mickey calls Ian "babe".

In secret though, the names get a bit more personal and sweet. Ian still calls Mickey "baby" a lot of the time, but he also likes calling him "sweetheart" when he's feeling extra affectionate and he'll even throw in the occasional "princess". Mickey pretends to despise it, but he never outright tells Ian to stop calling him that, which tells Ian that his husband actually really likes the pet names.

In private, Mickey still overwhelmingly calls Ian "babe", but every once in a while he'll call him "my love" or just "love". It's rare, but Ian's heart swells every time he hears those pet names. If Mickey's feeling like a little shit, which he often does, he'll call Ian "Romeo" or "Casanova". Especially if Ian is being extra sweet and affectionate. I also think Mickey calls Ian "sugar" a lot more than he realizes.

okay!

- taking complete control over a situation the second he sees mickey needs it. one look or a single eyebrow twitch and he’s stepping in - physically - handling things with a firm and collected tone. the way he does this without making mickey look inferior is masterful. mickey knows he can count on his husband when he gets overwhelmed.

- also big on taking care of base needs. making sure mickey has eaten. water is a big thing because believe it or not, mickey milkovich doesn’t spend a lot of time on hydration. so ian is always handing him his water bottle very intentionally, his expectation clear. or sometimes he’ll resort to pouring him ice water and using a straw and hitting him with a “sip” or a “take a drink for me baby” etc

- sensing when mickey needs to unwind and helping him relax in his usual hands-on way, just not sexually. it’ll start with him snaking a hand around him while they watch something on the couch to gently massage the back of his neck. then work his way down to his shoulders. and then ten minutes later mickey is flat on his belly drooling as ian kneads his back muscles, working the tension loose while he says kind things to him.

- picking him up :) scooping him up bodily. moving his husband physically from place to place because he can and he will and he knows mickey likes it, even if he pretends to kick up a fuss sometimes <3

- my own personal hc, but i’m gonna slide it in there anyway: non sexual finger sucking. like…sometimes mickey just wants something in his mouth and absolutely nothing sexual comes out of it. ian just notices throughout the day that he’s toying with straws and toothpicks and other stuff. so when he hauls him off to bed for court-ordered cuddle time, he’ll hold mickey and then press a couple fingers to his lips and mickey will let them into his mouth, keeping them comfortably on his tongue.

Calli, any Milkovich sibling HC, But stuck on those for a bit.

Iggy knew/suspected Mickey was gay. He didn’t care. He might not be the smartest but he knows his siblings. If he’d been around when Terry found out, he would have defended Mickey. Years later, Mickey shares what happened when Terry caught him and Ian and it makes Iggy so angry.

He never finds out what Terry did to Mandy. Neither does Mickey. Colin suspected but was never sure and never asks in case he’s wrong.

Mandy’s favourite sibling is Mickey. (Not that she’d ever tell him that). She was never that close to Iggy or Colin. But they do care for each other in their own ways.

Once Mandy leaves Chicago, she tracks down Molly. They keep in touch and become closer as time goes on.

Iggy and Colin are in and out of prison a lot but by their late twenties, they get their shit together and stay out of jail for good.

Over time, the siblings have regular meet-ups. They bicker a lot. But it’s fun and nice. They don’t really talk about the darkness of their childhoods or Terry much and if they do, they try and joke about it so as not to get too angsty about things.

They have a sibling group chat which is them roasting the fuck out of each other and also full of selfies where their flipping off the camera.

When Iggy gets out of jail for the last time, Mickey gives him a temporary job at his and Ian’s security business. But Iggy’s good at it, so he becomes a permanent employee. (Despite the fact he constantly teases Mickey)

Mandy wanted to go to Ian and Mickey’s wedding but found the idea of going back to Chicago and seeing everyone too much. She sent them a good present - a really expensive bottle of champagne and two fancy glasses. When they drink it, they share a toast to her.

When Terry dies, she moves back to Chicago. She thought it would be difficult but she finds it freeing knowing she’s living and thriving in the city while he’s dead.

Laura was not the perfect mother but she did try and they all have a handful of good memories about her. She came very close to taking them all and leaving Terry at one point but it never worked out. The siblings don’t know how close they came to having a better childhood.

As adults, they get really drunk one evening and all get matching ‘m’ tattoos on their wrists.

The siblings fought and argued as kids but they always shared food and looked after each other if one got sick or injured. It wasn’t always perfect. They didn’t always know what to do but they tried.

They all wore the same hand me downs. Even Mandy until she hit her teenage years and Laura gave her some of her old clothes. Mandy was big into thrift shopping because Laura took her once. She becomes an expert in finding clothes that look trendy but were cheap. She still gets bullied at lot at school but she pretends it doesn’t bother her.

They all end in therapy at one point or another. Some for longer than others. But they all find it helpful in certain ways.

The best memories they have about their childhood involve staying up late and watching shitty movies, crushed together on the couch. All of them talking over the actual movie and giving their own commentaries. This only happened when Terry was in jail or passed out.

One year they attempt to make some Ukrainian food that Laura made one year. It’s a bit of a disaster but they have fun doing it, even if what they make doesn’t taste that good.

They’re not as close as the Gallagher siblings but they do care and love each other in their own Milkovich way.

i’m kinda late to this because i keep forgetting but HERE THEY ARE (some of these are stolen from my other headcanons post and also half of these are very unserious)

ian was so excited when debbie was born, he loved being a big brother. whenever anybody tried to take the newborn baby out of his arms, he would throw a fit and insist that the baby belonged to him and you can’t touch her!

the two of them have gotten drunk on mimosas at like 10 in the morning on several occasions

when debbie was in her phase where she was going on about “ginger racism” she kept sending ian photos of gingers/articles about discrimination against gingers and so he blocked her number (temporarily!)

they have a gallagher groupchat (canon) and debbie talks the most in it. ian leaves the groupchat constantly because of the spamming so she has to add him back

also kinda going off of that^ ian is horrible at responding to texts/calls and leaves debbie on read CONSTANTLY, which pisses debbie off, making her spam his messages/voicemail until he gives in and texts her back (she’s so me)

(pre-season 1) when frank and monica would fight ian would try to calm her down while fiona and lip tried to break up the fights. carl would usually be fine and just watch/go up to his room, but debbie would get scared and cry, worried about either of the parents getting hurt or leaving.

debbie used to make her siblings bracelets out of like rainbow loom and shit and she made ian the most and he, unlike lip, wore all of them (no matter how sparkly they were).

(pre-3x05) debbie would beg ian to take her with him when he went to the milkovich house to go see mandy, which was incredibly awkward for ian, considering what he was really doing going there to do.

debbie visited ian the most in prison (lip tried to also, but he was also focusing on tami and fred).

ian taught debbie how to throw a punch.

heidi runs away and devastates debbie, which leads to her crying over her loneliness and venting to ian constantly, so eventually ian and mickey come up with a way to reunite sebbie (yes i’m writing about this).

also this isn’t a headcanon but i have a question and it’s why the fuck wasn’t sandy at ian and mickey’s anniversary party if she was so important in the wedding like that could’ve been our tiny sebbie reunion we could’ve gotten like one frame of them talking and i’d be satisfied
