PIGTAILS RUMP! PASTEL RUMP. blond rump. that is all. i really love that design. so i use it. the face markings are also meant to look like a stereotypical robber mask. i realized she looks a little fox-like while drawing her, which i didnt mind ! its fun !

her clothing design was already laid out for her so i left it virtually unchanged, asides from the pattern itself. imagine wearing clothes w a print of your best friends hair . that is rumpleteazer

even though 1 of her 3 words are impressionable, i think she is smarter than she lets on. i also think skimbleshanks is her dad. she'd be about 21 in human years

PIGTAILS JERRIE AS WELL, BITCH ! i saw a jerrie w pigtails after i drew this and i felt so vindicated. i also based his design directly on 2019 mungojerrie because ommgggg transgender calico? trans little calico? i thought he deserved some pearls too. as well as a bell collar! it makes cats sneakier.

his clothing design is left unchanged too, asides from some fluff. he is also wearing a print of his best friends hair . smile 😃

coricopat | 🍷 🔮 ♟

coricopat is pretty close to their replica design—the biggest difference being that the red in their design is warmer/purpler. that and the silver collar! i also had no idea what i was doing with her fit, so expect it to change in the upcoming art i do of him. i just wanted something gothy and flowy

hes also based on thalia, the muse of comedy. to keep the greek mythology theme going, and because i thought it was funny, and because (2x) i like... The Gimmick

i just had to give this (technical) swing some love. bless this happy background cat and his little :D smile. i decided to give him a simple little fit and made his fur/markings less plain white w some stripes. i think i also based his makeup off a victor costume ??

my silly, my funny. my little guy. i based their general Vibe on his john napier concept art, obc mistoffelees, 1990 paris mistoffelees, 2019 mistoffelees, and like. a fairys kiss of brentoffelees. i wish id have given him a bit of that il sistina style but i already had so many things going on LOL

it was definitely a very fun challenge to balance all of these. i also draw attention to the single white shoe—the cutest detail of timmy scotts misto

i definitely prefer a more visually unnerving, grown misto. and absolutely torn between portraying him as mute or verbal because on one hand... mute misto is so good. on the other hand.... oh my god. timothy scotts voice.jesus christ . i think hed be 23 in human years

the rum tum tugger | 🎤 🍽 🪞

WELCOME TO MY TWISTED WORLD. i really tried to keep tugger as cis guys i really did. but the thrall of a visually transgender tugger was too much to ignore. i already explained a lot of his design choices in my first posted drawing of it but like... blauhh... thigh garter, heart, golden whiskers/lashes. they are there. i also made his makeup a wee more theatrical w/ white on the chin to visually separate him from partridges tugger

i also decided to base his fur more on his obc design. like. terrence mann tugger. platinum blond spotted mane and head fur and such. i think it looks really good

im trying to hit the sweet spot between the goofy/serious/whiny/promiscuous portrayals of the him..... the man contains multitudes, you see. hed also be like 24 in human years and it goes without saying that hes one of deuts sons

Moscow 2005 HCs

My contribution to @storyweaverofgondor’s Cornucopia of Cats blogversary event. Thanks for letting me take part bestie, I had a lot of fun deep diving into this production!

Munkustrap is absolutely training Mistoffelees to lead the ball. The two of them are close friends, and Munk has made him second in command. Tugger is fully in love with Misto, but has kept it to himself because 1) The Fear, and 2) he thinks Misto likes Munk. But then he gets scared that Munk likes him back (because he’s a fool who is too wrapped up in his own feelings to see the Demestrap supremacy). He spends ages coming up with his song as a confession, but it doesn’t quite work, as everyone kinda takes it as a hype song for bringing back Old Deuteronomy, Misto included.

Munk notices but. Tugger has put his whole soul into it (hello? Сказочный is literally the most beautiful and poetic adjective I want to cry. He walks on starlight? This song invented romance). At first Munk is a bit like, oh no, but then when he thinks about it, that could work actually? If you only know both of them on the surface level, no way in hell, but if you actually understand them, then yes. He talks to Tugger and convinces him to go for it, as he’s been moping ever since the Ball, at the same time realising he should take his own advice and confess to Demeter. (Demeter: fucking finally omg Munk)

Misto can and will sleep in any place or position, although his preference is snuggled up under Tugger’s mountain of fluff. The two grew up together after baby Misto was brought to the Junkyard, and have been friends since forever.

(Elo note: If Ivan Ozhogin hitting that high note in Old Deuteronomy doesn’t make you feel things, then your soul may be irreparably damaged.)

Jennyanydots is Victoria and Tumblebrutus’ mum, and George’s adopted mum. She has a soft spot for Mungojerrie and Bombalurina. Bomba looks up to her a lot, and Jerrie wants a lot more hugs than he’d ever admit. Whenever he’s in the Junkyard, if he’s not up to mischief with Rumpleteazer, then he’s with Jenny. She makes everyone around her feel safe and wanted. Best hugs in the Junkyard are Jenny hugs, hundo p. She has a vintage samovar that is her most prized possession, Jerrie gave (stole) it to her.

Vic is besties with Jemima, and looks up to Cassandra and Demeter. Jemima adores Tantomile and tries to be just like her. Jemima enjoys the company of the older Cats more than the younger. She likes playing with her friends, especially Vic, but enjoys being scooped up into hugs more.

Bomba is one of the main protectors of the tribe. At first she can come across as a bit scary, but actually she’s very warm and caring, if a bit mysterious. She doesn’t ever share about her past. Demeter is the only one that knows about it, and neither Queen is telling. She loves the Bolshoi, and can often be found lounging on the comfy seats there (and refusing to move for the punters). In that, she’s taken over from Gus. The staff pretend to despair, but they’re very fond of their little invaders.

Plato knows the city of Moscow the best of all of them, and loves to explore. He knows the best and safest spots for the kittens to play in the winter snow, and the moment the first snowflake falls, he’s constantly badgered by them to take them out.

Jellylorum loves experimenting with different looks and styles, and when she’s not in the Junkyard she likes to trot around ГУМ and ЦУМ to see the humans all dressed up. She might pick something up for Pouncival.

Pounce loves playing dress up and coming up with characters, especially with Jerrie. He loves making up stories and costumes to go with them. Old D is his dad, but he doesn’t know.

Tumble does not understand the Bustopher hype. I mean, he doesn’t even cartwheel? Where is the appeal? Misto, though – SPINS FOR DAYS! Tumble watches like a hawk when he dances, soaking up the expertise. He and Pounce share the same humans, who own a small pelmeni restaurant near the Pushkin Museum.

Demeter is besties with Misto. Platonic soulmates if ever there was. They can often be found together, deep in conversation or playing a game that makes no logical sense to anyone but them.

Skimbleshanks and Grizabella are brother and sister. They were never really alike, but he was deeply hurt when she left the tribe, and never quite forgave her for it. Griz abandoned her family to seek fame, leaving one day without a word. When she comes back he can’t trust her, and wants to protect the tribe from her. The kittens all love Uncle Skimble! Skimble travels all over Eurasia on the trains. He knows Felix in Staraya Russa on the Pskov line, and he’s acquainted with the Cats at the Hermitage Museum, with whom he shares mousing tips. Many of the Cats found their way to the Junkyard through Skimble and his train network, and many of them have taken trips to places like Finland, Latvia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

Cassandra is always cold. Tanto is always too hot. Demeter will often say she’s cold to get Munk to hug her (he always wants to, but is nervous of making her feel smothered).

Coricopat is quite often found literally hanging off of things precariously. He’s quite comfortable, and doesn’t get why others freak out when they find him hanging 5m off the ground by one paw. Jemima often copies him, much to the older Cats’ horror.

Jerrie and Teazer came to the Junkyard after Munk helped Teazer out of a sticky situation involving a pollicle. They don’t live there full time, they come and go, but Teazer always likes to be involved in Munk’s plays. He has a soft spot for her. Teazer would probably stay full time, and later on they do, but Jerrie isn’t ready just yet.

Cassandra is a bit of a loner, but well liked by everyone. She’s close with Vic and Misto, and loves flowers. Plato always seeks her out in spring when the first flowers start to bloom, and they go see them together. She and Tanto are friends, and she adores the kittens. Alonzo is always trying to impress her, but is a bit too shy to talk normally to her.

Rumpus Cat is the OC of Munk and Alonzo. They made him up as Kittens, and would act out long, convoluted stories for hours on end. The Kittens now are unsure if Rumpus is real or not, and Alonzo will dress up as him from time to time, so he’s something of a Jellicle cryptid.

Alonzo frequents the Arbat, and the shopkeepers there call him Господин Коровка (Mr. Mini Cow ig), as he often surveys the street from the top of the cow statue.

Munk often wishes he were a bit taller, but will never admit that to anyone. The Everlasting Cat communicated to Old D that Munkustrap would be the next Jellicle leader when he was a Kitten. Old D took him under his wing to train him up, and Munk adores him.

Old D and Griz are Tugger’s parents, and Tugger and Old D are very alike. Old D was just like Tugger in his youth. Munk and Tugger are half brothers. Gus and Griza are Munk’s parents. Munk is a few years older than Tugger, who is a year older than Misto. Misto is probably the son of Macavity, but no one knows for sure. Munk notices they move in a similar way, but he trusts Misto fully and never mentions it.

Macavity was a former Jellicle, and was Pounce’s hero in the before times. He and Griz both left the tribe at around the same time, although not together. Mac was expecting to be named the future Jellicle leader by the Everlasting Cat, then went berserk when he wasn’t. Macavity was banished by Old Deut. He attacked Munkustrap after he was declared the future leader, and would have killed him if Old D hadn’t stepped in and fought him off. It was a traumatic experience for Munk, who was still quite young, while Mac was fully grown and much bigger. Many of the Jellicles had expected Mac to be named leader, but were relieved when it was Munk. Mac wasn’t disliked, but he was known to have a nasty temper and vicious streak. Although he kept them hidden, everyone was wary of him. None of them quite realised how bad he was, however, until he attacked little Munkustrap, who a lot of them saw as their own. This cemented their opinion of Mac, and he made an enemy of the whole tribe that day.

Uhhhh I’ll give you a couple that ive been thinking about recently!!!

Misto hcs

- Misto and Victoria are siblings (obv), but they are adopted by Bustopher, and literally only they three know that, which always makes things funny.

- Tbh they appeared on his doorstep one day when they were itty bitty little kittens and he was like ‘Im father??? Me father now?????’ And took them in.

- Strange that they just kinda appeared out of thin air huh??? 👀 almost like… magic?

- Bustopher has absolutely no clue how to take care of small kittens but by god is he going to do his best.

- He stops by the junkyard the first night that he takes them in to get advice from his friends who also had kittens of their own or took care of the kittens in the junkyard.

- All the oldies are like???? When the hell did you get kittens?? And he just kinda shrugs, that was not the important part right now.

- hes like I have absolutely no kitten care experience please help me

- But Jenny and Jelly have his back and immediately go into mom mode, setting him up with the basics of what he’ll need, and explaining everything as they go.

- Bustopher will come to depend on them for help when it comes to his children as they grow up, and hes glad to have them around else hed have literally no idea what hes doing (not that he really does now but hes got a vague idea now at least)

- Later on that night when they are finally home again Bustopher is ready for a full night sleep, and so are the kittens. So he climes into his nice warm bed and invite them to come join him up there

-obv they oblige him and in the end, end up sleeping on top of him cause warrrrmmmm.

- Skimble is like bffs with Bustopher, therefore Misto an Vic saw a lot of him. Hes someone that Misto looks up to even now that they are older.

- Skimble would bring his kittens Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer around sometimes when he visited

- Victoria loved it when she got the chance to see Rumpleteazer, they were super close friends.

- Misto would usually get really nervous when Mungojerrie came around, and it would take him a while to warm up to him, but they were pretty good friends nonetheless.

- Jerrie would usually try to convince Misto to try and pull silly pranks on their dads and sisters, and Misto would have Jerrie help him with magic and dancing things he couldn’t do on his own.

- They continued to be friends like this for a couple of years, and Misto despite his best efforts developed a small crush on Jerrie. Not that he would ever admit it though.

- And then one day jerrie and teazer just stopped showing up with Skimble, which obv made both Misto and Victoria sad.

- Skimble seemed a lot more down when he would visit which started to happen less and less.

- Misto had much later learned that Jerrie and Teazer had joined Macavity’s and held resentment towards them for it.

- When they eventually came back to the Tribe it took a long time for Misto to trust either of them again. And even longer for him and Jerrie to be friends again.

- When they were younger Bustopher occasionally took them by the junkyard to play with some of the kittens (and so he could get a break and talk to his buddies)

- Victoria is the more outgoing one of the two, she always had someone to run around with when they visited the junkyard, but Misto is very not outgoing.

- He would usually just find a tire or an old mattress to sleep on for a while, or he’d find a quite corner not too far away to try and practice his magic.

- And this worked for him, he didnt have to see many cats, or have Victoria explain for him that he doesn’t like to talk much.

- That is until he’s practicing his magic alone one day and he starts to feel eyes on him, which isn’t really a new feeling he knows that his dad like to keep and eye out for him so he doesn’t suspect anything.

- He goes back to whatever it was he was doing, and after a few moments hes startled by a sudden voice behind him, causing him to lose control of his abilities for a moment and yatta yatta mini explosion.

- Obv he turns around and shys away out of embarrassment, but the cat whom he was now facing doesnt seem to notice this,,,, or care

- “whoa… I’ve never seen anything like that before…You’re Victorias brother right? The one who doesn’t like to talk very much”

-Misto just kinda nods, very much at a disadvantage here. He’s seen this cat around before, he’s the one all of the girls liked to fawn over. He had no idea what his name was or really anything about him. He was usually to busy looking for a place to sleep or a place to practice to be bothered to ask or listen.

-“I’m THE Rum Tum Tugger.” Tugger kinda like fluffs up his main making a show of it.

- And thats where he met his bfa (best fucking annoyance)

I already said Mefistrap in another ask so here will be Tamtazja aka Warsaw Tugger and Warsaw og Fantazja. They have some flirty interactions on stage and she sits with him as he's singing about his dad, and yeah. I just love and adore them and i think their dynamic of chaotic asshole and ready for mischief sweetheart is just really really fun

🧡 A favorite friendship

Since I'm on a Warsaw train already, it's def Warsaw Tugger and Warsaw Misto. I do ship them romantically too, but first and foremost for me they are best friends and that is canon in Warsaw and I am really glad for it. They literally have a special fist bump that they do twice in one song. Misto helps Tugger in his song by crossing the diagetic vs non-diegetic setpiece movement line with his magic, and in turn Tugger is a big and active part of an impromptu magic show. They are both assholes and best friends and I love them so much

This is me *not so subtly* sliding into your Inbox to ask more about your Speakeasy AU - you had mentioned characters having certain jobs based on archetypes/roles; would you be able to give us more in regards to what the rest of them do as well? (I'm also interested in the bit you talked about regarding their backgrounds, or where they were before the AU!)

Yes, I can totally talk about everyone’s jobs!!

First, there are the littles (AKA kids under 10), which for now consist of Jemima, Pouncival, and Tumblebrutus. Electra and Etcetera might also end up falling under this category, but I’m not sure what to do with them yet.

Old Deuteronomy owns a secondhand story officially called The Jellicle Ball but lovingly referred to by the community as The Junkyard. It has everything one could ever want, from garden tools to antique books to furniture to things you didn't even know you needed until he hands it over to you with a wink and a smile.

Munkustrap sometimes works the register, but he also moonlights as a sort of investigator for the neighborhood — he's not a hired gun, but he will certainly help track down a missing pet or stolen items. Mostly, he keeps tabs on Macavity, who runs a crime ring reaching far and wide across the city. Macavity also owns a range of various illegal businesses from brothels to speakeasies (in fact, the only semi-popular bar that he doesn't own is Deme and Bomba's, a fact he's not too happy about). Munk is also raising Jemima, his niece (Mac's daughter), ever since she was left on his doorstep. Plato is Munk's apprentice, although he's often too busy herding his little brothers Pounce and Tumble to pay much attention to what's going on.

Bustopher Jones is a wealthy expatriate from England who lives in a rather expansive house (for the city, at least). He was involved in some war in his past, although which one, what branch of the military he worked for, and what he actually did are much harder to pin down. He's retired now, and mostly spends his days as a socialite going out with his friends (including Old Deut) and donating to various projects throughout the neighborhood. When he came to the States, he brought Jennyanydots along with him as his long-time housekeeper. Her two kids, Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer, are technically Bustopher's wards, but they don't listen to him (or their mother) much at all, preferring to spend the remainder of their teenage years refining their breaking-and-entering skills.

Jellylorum and Asparagus run the Queen Victoria Theatre after taking over the reins from their dad, Gus. He used to own many more theatres in both the US and UK after a long and varied career as an actor himself, but myriad accidents and bombed shows have forced the family to give up all but this one. It's sometimes hard to balance the budget, but the community helps the best they can (especially Bustopher, who insists that the siblings are the only ones in town keeping the British theatre tradition alive).

The Magical Mr. Mistoffelees (AKA Quaxo) is a stage magician who has a running show at the Queen Vic. It's not enough to get by on, so he shares an apartment with his sister Victoria, a ballet dancer, and Cassandra, a contortionist who works as his stage assistant. Recently, two of Cassandra's old friends from the circus, Coricopat and Tantomile, have moved to town, so they're staying there for the time being as well. During the day while everyone else is out, they do tarot and palm readings at the kitchen table. (Whether or not Misto and the twins actually have mystical abilities is still under consideration.)

And, last but not least, Skimbleshanks is a local trolley car engineer. No big backstory, he's just a simple railway cat. :)

(Any character I didn't mention here I still haven't decided what to do with yet. I'm also thinking about adding my and/or other people's OCs to fill out the background characters!)

Ok things I noticed/thoughts after seeing tour 6!!

I really had so much fun however I am being a bit of a hater at times just a warning

The choreography really heavily featured the kittens, I was missing the adults, particularly Munkustrap, Alonzo, and Bombalurina, where were they?

Tayler Harris was awesome! She didn’t ignore the detail that Grizabella is old and washed up, not just washed up. Her acting was so satisfying to watch I loved it.

Michelle E. Carter’s facial expressions were a gift and so was her amazing tap dancing. During bows she and Tayler were doing a little routine together it was cute.

Speaking of bows, Hank Santos and Tayler did their little handshake, I loved it.

I’m really sad about the new Bustopher Jones arrangement and staging, I did not like it at all. The performance itself was fine, but the material they were working with wasn’t great.

PEKES AND POLLICLES WAS FANTASTIC. 100% best number in the show, it was so much fun, especially the moments where Gus and Munkustrap were playing off each other. I just wish they kept Tugger’s bagpipe interruptions

Gus was fantastic in general, John Anker Bow’s voice was beautiful and round and. Well maybe I’m biased because Gus is already my fave but he left everyone in the DUST.

The transition from Rumpus Cat to Skimbleshanks was a little weird, because Gus didn’t have his last “moment of mystery”, which I guess makes sense as he didn’t have a flashback, he got to actually play Rumpus Cat.

LAST THJNF ABOUT GUS WHEN HE SAID “I ONCE PLAYED THE RUMPUS CAT” AND THEN OLD DEUTERONOMY RESPONDED “SO DO IT AGAIN” MY HEART MELTEDDDDDD

BRIAN AND TARYN REALLY SAID MUNGOTEAZER RIGHTS LMAO GOOD FOR THEM they were cuddling during Gus’s song it was adorable.

Brian’s voice holy shit I’m in love with it. Taryn too by all means not to shove her to the side but Brian really knows how to work that fry in there. Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer were just a delight to watch and listen to, loved every second.

Skimbledots, Demelurina, Jellypher, Cassoffelees and Tuggoffelees also got a lot of moments it was cute

Misto had a lot of interaction with the oldies, particularly Jennyanydots and Old Deuteronomy, but he was strangely absent during Bustopher Jones, it was instead Jenny who was helping him around.

Tugger was strangely absent after his number. During the Jellicle Ball he did very little, and he rarely left the sidelines, I was sad not to see him that much :(

Loved Hank Santos but the new Rum Tum Tugger choreo really is doing him dirty, he could go so much further with the old choreography.

There were two little kids sitting in front of me and they were absolutely adorable. They did not understand what was going on during Pekes and Pollicles and their dad was explaining it to them 🥺

The stage was very small and there was no aisle access, so they didn’t do green eyes or any of the aisle dancing in anything which was unfortunate but eh what can you do

In addition to the lack of aisle access, it was clear they had next to no fly space. They had the star lights and scrim, the ring-of-lights thing, and basically nothing else. The staircase to the Heaviside Layer extended awkwardly from stage right, and it didn’t retract fully back into the wing. It didn’t look terrible but it was a little clunky.

Multiple times throughout the show, most notably in the Macavity Fight and the Jellicle Ball, the tempo felt like it was dragging just slightly. The more hip-hop choreography is not as fluid as the ballet, so when the tempo is slower the choreo can’t flow with it, it just feels like it’s pausing and playing.

The Victor costume that Deuteronomy wears during JSFJC was so slay actually he had a little duster and a little tunic it was great I loved it.

I know I have been a hater of tour 6 wigs and makeup before. I still wasn’t big on the wigs but the makeup looked good from the audience! It still could have looked a bit more cat-like but it was a nice effect overall, especially Ibn Snell, Kade Wright, and Tayler Harris. The wigs were still yucky but it was tolerable.

Bombalurina and Demeter were fantastic! Their voices were gorgeous and I’m mad we didn’t see more of them, Bombalurina particularly, she was really sidelined.

Sam Buchanan as Macavity was not interesting to watch sorry. However I did find it interesting that the new choreo and arrangement makes a point to draw parallels between Tugger and Macavity, hearing some of the same motives was a nice Easter egg.

Andy Blankehuehduehalebgjer sure loves lifts, huh. They got boring after a while and I don’t think they were really very cat-like. His additions in general really didn’t mesh super well with the original choreo. In places like the Mistoffelees dance break, where it was just his stuff, it worked alright but in Frankenstein numbers like the Jellicle Ball his choreography stuck out like a sore thumb.

Kade’s singing voice does not match his speaking voice holy shit I was surprised

Hank Santos is shorter than I expected

The bit in Moments of Happiness where the twins are channeling Old Deut’s wisdom into Sillabub was restaged for whatever reason and now it just looked stupid?? Old Deuteronomy just. Bopped Coricopat on the head and then Tantomile bopped Sillabub on the head and they went away it was so dumb.

As I was driving away from the theater I saw Dominic Fortunato and I believe Max Craven walking on the sidewalk and I rolled down the window to drive-by-compliment them and they yelled thank you at me it was funny

(I actually wrote this as a short fic, so you'll get that version! But I'm more than happy to expand on them.)

They're so... small, when they're born. There's seven of them; all different colours. They've got a cat that looks exactly like Misto but with red fur, inherited from Tugger's side of the family; one that's pure white, the carbon copy of Victoria; another that's a spotted tabby, with Tugger's leopard spots; a fourth one, light with blue eyes, who's deaf; a fifth one, their runt, a tabby with black spots washed in; one that's the spitting image of Tugger; and the last one, a mostly-white one with occasional black stripes, deaf as his sister.

He loves them immediately.

They name them Tau, Eaphylina, Fantasia, Zimmai, Quiln, Kitana, Certilexo. Jellicle names for Jellicle Cats.

Tau is the eldest, a rowdy little kit who likes attention but doesn't ask for it, who grumbles when asked to take care of her siblings but always does it anyway. Her red fur is truly a rare coat found in the junkyard; when she's born, Tugger thinks she looks like Macavity. He vows to take care to protect his daughter and never let her stray into the wrong path like his long-lost brother.

Eaphylina is truly the same as her aunt: she primps and preens, and dresses with the highest fashion. She loves her aunt dearly, seeing in Victoria a role model, and takes to following her around the junkyard, much to Misto's amusement and Tugger's slight confusion.

Fantasia is their first magical kit. He's inherited his father's gift and no one can tell yet the extent of his powers; at three weeks old he already wanders about the den and wants to explore the junkyard, pushed by an insatiable sense of curiosity.

Zimmai is born deaf, and while her dads are saddened to discover this, they manage to get around it just fine - it also helps that she's open to casual affection from just about anyone, which makes getting her attention much easier. Her magic helps too, and she immediately takes to blasting her thoughts as either one of her parents that's closest - and sometimes both - but they don't really mind it other than an occasional wince or two at the volume of a newborn kit who can't control their abilities yet.

Quiln is their runt, born a tiny queen who struggles to survive, spending a lot of time with Tugger and Misto, and being fiercely determined to leave a mark upon the world (if the adults smile at the thought of the runt being the most determined one to live, that's none of anyone's business but their own). When Quiln is just a few months old, they have an important conversation with her, and they discover that their kitten does not conform to the idea of being either a queen or a tom, saying that their preferred pronouns are they and them, but she and her are also fine, but they're still a little bit unsure of who exactly they want to be. Tugger beams with pride when, every morning, Quiln comes towards him and quietly tells him of the pronouns his kitten feels like today, and it always ends in a nuzzle and a few moments of grooming.

Kitana is a queen, and the female reincarnation of Tugger - at least physically. She doesn't talk too much nor too little, so her parents aren't overly worried about her, but she doesn't seem like as much of an attention-grabber as either of her fathers, though she certainly doesn't mind it. Tugger knows she'll blossom into a beautiful queen one day, and if she's a tad shy compared to him, that's perfectly fine - he's confident she'll find her true self one day, and he'll accept that no matter who it is.

Certilexo is the second tom of the litter, and though most people think at first that he ought to be closest with his only brother, he connects best with the only sibling that truly understands him, his deaf sister, as he too was born unable to hear his family. This doesn't prevent him from getting into trouble with his brother, though - he's always up for a prank or two and is more mischievous than the rest of his litter combined, and Tugger and Mistoffelees are relieved to see him spending so much time with his sister, since he always seems to be more serious around her and feel the need to protect her, despite him being the youngest and also deaf. ("He's got Munkustrap's spirit," Tugger whispers to his mate one night, to which Misto lets out a surprised singular peal of laughter - after all, Munk is known for being the Protector, but he believes Tugger - his instinct for trouble has to come from somewhere, after all, and Tugger had such an age difference with his eldest brother that it can't have been Macavity teaching him all sort of tricks and jokes - which leaves only Munkustrap as a viable option for such a mentor. And indeed, Certilexo almost veneres his uncle, copying him as well as he can, and following him around the junkyard on his daily duties.)

Their kittens are vastly different, but at the end of the day, they're his kids. And he'll be damned if he ever stops loving them and being proud of them

Some random Carbucketty hc I have

Mostly based on the post London Revival European productions.

Carbucketty is a street cat by choice atm but he might move in with some human later in his life (he kind of doesn’t mind humans but he doesn’t like them much). He spends a lot of time with Bill Bailey and Electra who are also street cats at the moment.

He is best friends with Victoria and Electra. He likes to annoy Victoria by for example stealing her collar and wearing it. He dances and plays a lot with both girls.

His other best friend is Bill Bailey. They love playing and they sometimes play pranks on the other cats.

Admetus is a friend he likes, but who is sometimes also a little bit mean to him, so they tend to argue. They always make up with Jenny’s or Munk’s help. He also fights with him over Victoria’s attention (not in a romantic way though).

He has a huge crush on Mistoffelees. Atm Mistoffelees is very oblivious towards Carbucketty’s flirting and tends to ignore his advances, though he does like dancing with him. This might change in the future.

He also has a small crush on Bombalurina and always tries to impress her or to get her attention.

Jennyanydots is his mother and he loves her very, very much. He does sometimes argue with her because she is very strict. If it’s cold during winter he just moves in with her and her humans again. The humans are very happy and think he will stay for once but he tends to vanish again as soon as it gets warmer. He also returns to her owners when he gets hurt or sick and they take him to the vet.

His father is unknown/not important.

He has two father figures: Bustopher Jones and Munkustrap. He loves them both very much too. He also likes stealing Munkustrap’s collar. Bustopher Jones is more like a fun dad to him while Munkustrap is more like the education dad to him.

All in all, when he steals the collar of a cat he pretends to be them and immitates their behaviour and mannerism. He also does that with Jellylorum who he also sees like a mother.

Alonzo is Jelly’s adopted son and Jenny and Jelly are currently together so he sees him like a big brother. Even though Alonzo doesn’t have a collar Carbucketty loves immitating him. Most of the time Alonzo acts distant and haughty towards him but actually he cares about Carbucketty and will let him cuddle from time to time or he will clean him.

I also hc Rumpleteazer and Etcetera as his older (half)sisters. He loves playing with them too and sometimes, before Mungojerrie was around, he stole things together with Rumpleteazer. But then his interest in dancing grew and his interest in stealing declined. He loves her very much though.

His hobbys include: playing, dancing, being schlimm, cuddeling and pining over Misto.

Emmikay’s CATS Field Notes

Okay, I finally got everything typed up!

First I want to say that I’m so happy that I got see the show! The cast did an amazing job, and it looked like they were having fun. I hope they were, the audience loved them. It was absolutely worth both the wait, and the stress of getting there.

These are my thoughts on the individual songs, and fun moments I noticed during them! I tried to write these out as clearly as possible. And I know there’s probably so much that I missed in the background, but this is what stood out to me!

Act One

Opening

The opening was a lot of fun. I did spend some of the time pinning down who everyone was, but it was a lot of fun picking them out of the crowd. It actually took me awhile to find Tugger/ Bill Bailey.

I also feel sorry for the person in the seat they picked out for ‘the man over there’. Maybe they had already seen CATS, but I think if it were me, I’d still be scared. They made it sound very accusatory as well, which I found pretty funny. ‘The Naming of Cats’ was still appropriately creepy. I think one of the ladies in front me had never seen CATS, because she turned to friend as asked “What is happening?” It was too bad they couldn’t go into the isles during this tour, but I still enjoyed the eyes appearing on stage during the overture.

Jennyanydots, the Old Gumbie Cat

Jenny seemed really sweet, and was acting with a lot of energy. The whole number was very cute as a whole. I noticed that Skimbleshanks brought out the mouse masks, called over the mice, who I think were Victoria, Sillabub and Rumpleteazer, and handed out their masks. The cockroaches were Tumblebrutus, Pouncival and either Plato or Mungojerrie, but I’m not sure which. Both the mice and cockroaches stayed on stage for quite a bit of the number.

Another very cute thing I noticed, is that Misto was helping Jenny out a lot during her number, guiding her around, helping her sit down and get back up when she was in the first costume. There was also a moment where Jenny seemed to space out, and Misto was trying to gentling get her attention again.

Throughout the entire musical, it seemed like Misto was trying to help out and be as useful as possible. I interpreted it as Misto trying to prove he’s a mature adult now, who should be taken Seriously.

The Rum Tum Tugger

Tugger! Zach Bravo was delightful, of course. He’s just so much fun to watch. The whole number was very fun. I’m pretty sure Tugger flirted with most of the cats on stage in one way or another, other than Munkustrap, who he was definitely trying his best to annoy, as any little brother would do. I noticed Munkustrap and Alonzo plotting by the car just before they did the ‘Terrible Bore’ line.

There were a lot of cute moments between Tugger and Misto as well. At the start of the number, Misto and Skimbleshanks were sitting of the car together. Skimbleshanks seemed to smooth down Misto’s white neck fluff, before Misto joined the dancing. My friend and I agreed that it had very strong ‘Dad straightening his son’s tie before he goes on a date’ vibes. Tugger and Misto had great chemistry, which made the added choreography of them dancing together very fun to watch.

After Misto made the spotlights for Tugger, he crawled through Tugger’s legs. Tugger was pelvic thrusting while he was doing this, and if that’s not symbolism, I don’t know what it was.

Do to the lack of kitten characters in this production, most of the female characters were in the ‘squealing circle’ at the end, including Demeter and Cassandra. Misto was also part of it.

Grizabella the Glamour Cat

I’ve made my feeling about post-revival Grizabella known, so I won’t repeat them. That being said, Tayler Harris did a really good job, and I felt legitimately sorry for Grizabella. In this show, Jenny seemed to take the leading role in shooing the kittens, and everyone else away from Grizabella. Jellylorum helped out a bit, but it was mainly Jenny. Tumblebrutus and Pouncival both bullied Grizabella quite a bit and had to be shooed away.

In this show, Munkustrap was being played by Taylor James Rosenberger. He did a really good job, and had a really nice voice. One thing I noticed is that he plays Munkustrap as being very aggressive towards Grizabella. While other Munkustraps have seemed sad or resigned towards her, it was clear that he actively disliked her. It was actually an interesting twist, because usually it’s Tugger who really dislikes her, but in this show it was almost like the roles reversed.

Bustopher Jones, the Cat about Town

Bustopher Jones was quite a bit of fun, he was played as a very jolly, good natured guy. It seemed like he was very much enjoying entertaining all the cats, and all the attention they were giving him. I actually really like the part where several of the characters, I believe it was Munkustrap, Alonzo, Skimbleshanks, Mistoffelees, Victoria, and someone else who I can’t remember start offering food for him to try. I also noticed an interesting moment where at the beginning of the song, Tugger is lounging on the car, and he and Demeter seem to a have a little chat before Demeter goes to join the dancing.

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer

Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer were pretty good. I read their interactions as best friends rather than siblings or in a relationship, which was fun to watch. In the show, Bustopher Jones doesn’t say his “Toodle-pip” until after Jerrie and Teazer scare everyone,then immediately ran off.

I will say, this is probably the number that entertained me the least. It may just be that I was spoiled watching the 1998 version, but there weren’t a lot of the acrobatics and more entertaining dancing that previous shows have had. The actors themselves did a great job, though. Also, at the end, it was Munkustrap and Plato that hold up their loot bags instead of Alonzo.

Old Deuteronomy

This was a very sweet number, as it should be! Old Deuteronomy seemed like a very warm and happy character, and all of the cats seemed very happy and excited to see him. As I said earlier, Munkustrap had a very nice voice, and did a really good job with this number. And it was very cute when Munkustrap and Tugger started singing together. Tugger had been annoying Munkustrap since his number, so Munk seemed relieved that Tugger was actually acting on his best behaviour for once. Of course, as soon as Old Deuteronomy appeared on stage, Tugger did his mane shimmy, but Old Deuteronomy seemed to find it more amusing than anything else. Tugger also was the one helping Old Deuteronomy up and down the tire. He loves his dad!

The Jellicle Ball

I mean, what can I say? The dancing was amazing, and lighting was fun, and there was so much happening it was hard to take in. All of the cast are really talented, and it was so impressive to see it in person!

I picked up on a lot of little moments in between the dancing. Throughout act one, Misto hangs out with both Skimbleshanks and Cassandra quite often, usually on top of the car. I noticed Tugger hanging out with Cassandra a few times as well. There quite a few interactions between Demeter and Munkustrap. They danced together at the ball, and I noticed that the moves weren’t dissimilar to the choreography between Misto and Tugger one of the times they danced together in The Rum Tum Tugger. There were also several instances where they seemed to check in with each other during scene transitions throughout the act. When Gus entered for the first time towards the end of the Ball, Jellylorum held his hand to help him onstage.

There was one really funny thing when Grizabella appeared after the Pas de Deux. When Misto spots her on the car, he makes all the hanging lights turn on, then jumped on the car himself to try and scare her away. He immediately turned to Jellylorum like: “Did I do a good job?” Grizabella, however, wasn’t scared away, and Munkustrap had to go up and shoo her away. Poor Misto, you tried your best.

Memory: Prelude

All the cats vacated the stage when Grizabella showed up again. Munkustrap stayed the longest, and as he was leaving he was still trying to keep an eye on her. Tayler Harris has a really amazing voice, and I was already excited for how Memory proper was going to sound. Also, during the song, when Grizabella was facing the audience Old Deuteronomy was watching her sadly, however several times she glanced behind her, and whenever she did, he would turn away from her, which I thought was an interesting detail.

Act Two

Moments of Happiness

There was a guy in my row who never came back during intermission. Weak.

Old Deuteronomy entered the stage a bit before intermission ended, which was cool. It’s too you couldn’t get pictures of him because of COVID, but I was happy I was able to get some photos from my seat.

This song also sounded amazing. It was portrayed as though Old Deuteronomy was trying to lecture the cats, but they just weren’t getting it. Jemima also sounded really good during her solo. One funny moment, right at the beginning, Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer skipped onto the stage, only to get a look from Old Deuteronomy, and immediately looked guilty.

Gus, the Theatre Cat

Another sad number, but again, it’s supposed to be. Jellylorum did a good job, and also sold me old the fact she was happy to be talking about Gus’s past, but also sad, because it was likely he would be chosen tonight. At the beginning of the number either Tantomile or Coricopat set out a row of tin cans across the front of the stage and Misto used magic to turn them into stage lights. During the number, most of the cats were gathered at the back of the stage, but a few of the younger ones were sitting around Gus. Jenny and Skimbleshanks were sitting on top of the car together. Skimbleshanks, actually, was the one who looked offended when Gus said that jumping through a hoop doesn’t make you special. Misto was sitting on top of the pipe, and when Tugger entered part way through the song, the two of them seemed to have a quiet conversation.

The Aweful Battle of the Peakes and the Pollicles

This number was very fun! Gus was having a good time living out his glory days, and was acting pretty goofy while he was portraying the Rumpus Cat. During the number Tugger didn’t participate, but moved over to the tire to sit with Old Deuteronomy, and watch the show with him. During the part where everyone is barking at each other Munkustrap almost got trampled, which is when he yelled at everyone. Poor Munk. It’s not even his show anymore, and he still can’t catch a break.

Skimbleshanks, the Railway Cat

Another really fun one! There was a lot of energy, and everyone seemed like they were having a good time. It doesn’t matter what the production, Skimbleshanks is a very popular cat. At the beginning, both Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer helped sing lines, which was adorable!

Tugger didn’t dance for most of the song, only joinng in at the very end, but he was vibing the entire time. Throughout act two I kept glancing up at Tugger, and he was never out of character. Even if he was just standing there, it still felt like he was standing in a way that fit the character. The woman from before seemed amazed when they built the train on stage, which is the absolute correct reaction. Misto was the one holding the train light, which I know he usually does, but it was still adorable.

Macavity the Mystery Cat

When Macavity first appears everyone seemed frozen in place. It was pretty heavily implied that Macavity does have magical powers in this version. Munkustrap stepped forward to confront him, but Macavity glared and pointed at him, and Munkustrap froze, then collapsed on the stage, as if Macavity had forced him to pass out. It was only after that he grabbed Old Deuteronomy. I’m not sure if other productions have included that, but I really liked it. As well, for several of the Macavity scares, it looked to me like Tugger had a more active role of helping to look for him.

Both Demeter and Bombalurina were amazing in the song. It felt really jazzy, but also like they legitimately trying to warn all the other queens who were onstage. Munkustrap and several of the other toms entered towards the end of the number and watched the last bit of it. I’m not sure because I wasn’t focusing on him, but Munkustrap seemed relieved when he was back onstage, either because all of the queens were safe, of because Demeter and Bombalurina were warning everyone.

Macavity Fight

Again, Macavity has pretty apparent magic, because when he enters again he seems to forced several of the queens to start preforming the dance moves from his number again, before Munkustrap intervenes. I always find that really creepy when productions add that detail, and I’m happy it was included here.

The fight itself was intense as well. Poor Munk took quite a beating. After they swiped and threatened each other a bit, Macavity knocked Munkustrap to the ground. He got up pretty quickly, but seemed shaky. He immediately tried to reenter the fight, and then Macavity grabbed him and pinned him against the car, where he slashed at his throat twice. Munkustrap staggered a few steps before collapsing and staying down. It was actually pretty brutal, and I legitimately gasped when it happened. After Munkustrap went down, Macavity went after Demeter, and Alonzo pulled him off of her. That was when the entire tribe started going after Macavity, and he knocked the light out with the jumper cables.

Demeter and Munkustrap still had their cuddles after Macavity disappeared. Poor dears, I think they both really needed it.

Mister Mistoffelees

It’s my boy! Paul Giarratano and Zach Bravo both did an amazing job, and I was so excited to see this is person!

At the beginning, which I think is probably in most productions, the cats turned away from Tugger when he first suggested asking Misto for help, and he had to call them back. Tugger was so supportive of Misto, as any good Tugger should be. I can’t be completely certain, but I’m pretty sure Tugger didn’t take his eyes off of Misto for the entire number, which was so adorable, in my opinion. He loves him so much! I liked all the tricks they did with the lights to create magic effects. It would have cool if they had used flash paper and smoke effects, but this was still fun to watch. The dancing was a lot of fun as well, especially with Misto’s colour changing jacket, and the strings of light around the stage flashing rainbow colours.

Also… (Deep inhale)

I SAW THE CONJURING TURNS! IN PERSON! I SAW MISTO DO THE CONJURING TURNS, AND IT WAS AWESOME! VINDICATION! SWEET SWEET VINDICATION!

Anyway…

The way he brought back Old Deuteronomy was interesting. Instead of using the sheet Misto used magic to give everyone a candle or a like to hold, or something like that. They all gathered together, and when they separated, Old Deuteronomy was in the middle of the group.

When Tugger started singing again, after Old Deuteronomy appeared, it looked like Old Deuteronomy though he was singing about himself, but Tugger immediately redirected his attention to Mistoffelees. Then, after Misto hugged Old Deuteronomy, he and Tugger shimmied and nuzzled together, which was adorable.

The number ended on a funny moment, with Misto making the spotlight get smaller and smaller until it was just illuminating his face, before turning it out completely.

Memory

As I was hoping, this was beautiful, and sounded so amazing. Also, basically the entire thing was performed with Grizabella hunched out, and holy crap? How are you getting those high notes in that position?

When Grizabella first appeared again, Munkustrap stepped forward to chase her off, with Old Deuteronomy stopping him. He stepped forward again, to stop Victoria when she started to approach Grizabella after the number, and Old Deuteronomy had to hold him back again. This Munkustrap really did not like Grizabella.

I noticed that in this production Sillabub often acts similarly to Tugger, spending a lot of time watching the action from one the higher perches. She was doing the same thing in Macavity.

Journey to the Heaviside Layer

Very nice, and it’s always heartwarming when Grizabella is welcomed back into the tribe. Tugger actually reached out to her very quickly. Conversely, Munkustrap was the Second last to touch her, and didn’t actually moved towards her, he only touched Grizabella when she went to see Old Deuteronomy. He never looked her in the eye either, and was acting extremely guilty about the entire thing.

The tire rose up, but they also had what looked like a star bridge descend for Grizabella to climb up, which was a detail I liked.

The Ad-dressing of Cats

Very well sung, by both Old Deuteronomy and the rest of the cast. The lady in front of me seemed confused again, though I don’t know if it was about this song, or what had just happened to Grizabella. Skimbleshanks seemed very excited at the mention of cream.

Bows

Very entertaining! My hands hurt from clapping so much!

A final funny thing, after all the individual bows both Munkustrap and Jenny were teasing Tugger, and trying to steal the spotlight from him!

So that is that! I had so much fun! If anyone wants to talk more, or ask anything, I would enjoy that, but I hope you liked my field notes, as my friend called them. (I was typing them on my phone during intermission, and immediately after the show)

Plz infodump about single dad Misto and the kittens he pulled from his hat I am VERY curious

thanks for indulging me. Time to be cringe ALRIGHT-

so basically he was trying to do the 'rainbow from a hat' trick and his mind went off to thinking about demeter's kittens and may have accidentally made two kittens of his own which he immediately assumes he stole by mistake from some poor queen.

he locks himself in his family's shed for a week with them in fear of punishment but the jellicle ball is in a week and Tugger starts to get worried about no one seeing him and breaks down the shed door to see misto holding a yowling kitten while another dances around while staring unblinkingly at him. he immediately knows those are 100% misto's kittens. screaming and staring are like, the 2 things misto does most often.

After some light pushing and tugger's puppy dog eyes he eventually gives the two names, victoria and etcetera, and Tugger is able to drag him and the kittens to the ball to perform

yeah. everyone has questions. who's the mother? How did he hide them for so long? why is her name etcetera

alonzo and demeter in particular get worried because misto is very young and he doesn't seem extremely prepared at all for parenthood which means he either stole them or didn't have much choice in having them which especially worries demeter because she was just in the exact same position.

all the older cats began doting on misto and his kittens, munkastrap and old duet insist he move into the junkyard at least until the kittens are old enough to hold their own so they're fully safe.

okay and now the random stuff.

- victoria is mute but somehow anytime she stares at someone (something she does a lot) they know what she's saying. this briefly scared misto as it meant that yes, the girls did potentially get some magic from him.

- vic is also the most attached to misto between the two, seeing as until everyone figured out her ability he had to communicate for her and also.. everyone else is just so loud and fast about everything, she just wants everyone to shut up and slow down for a second. misto agrees with her fully on this regard and sometimes when it gets too much they practice ballet in private

- etcetera is attached to tugger, the only thing i'd compare it to is like, marie and thomas o'malley from the aristocats? She thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread, a total romantic and a perfect gentleman. She really wants to be like him when she's older and is always his biggest (and loudest) supporter anytime he performs. tugger sees a lot of himself in her and may accidentally give her some extra attention sometimes, along with teaching her different social cues and such when she asks.

- on the flipside of the coin, misto and etcetera do confide in one another as they are both very socially awkward and often feel very isolated from the rest of the tribe and will practice their singing together in their free time, etcetera at this probably knows a lot of the jellicles' songs as well as they do.

- the girls are often dotted on in particular by demeter who becomes an almost surrogate aunt, often being the one to help them as they become older with romantic issues or advice on big decisions. it's not that misto can't help with these things because he doesn't know, the girls mainly don't trust him because it took their entire childhood for him and Tugger to get together and one time his mind was so in the clouds he made a litter of kittens.

- one time plato stared at victoria for a long ass time cause he thought she was pretty and victoria stared back because victoria likes to stare. now they're dating.

- despite the fact etcetera really likes tugger, she doesn't stop victoria from giving the world's most threatening glare to him when he finally gets the nerve to ask misto out.

- bustopher wasn't the best dad in the world and alonzo certainly wasn't the best brother but now that misto has kittens they've started chilling out a bit. Of course, after misto had them bustopher offered any god's amount of food to them and alonzo was quick to basically turn into misto's private bodyguard, stalking him and being a little too overprotective, especially of victoria after the discovery of her being mute which the three find.. demeaning.

- neither of the girls consider tugger a father figure or anything, just sorta an older friend. this does not stop either of them or anyone else from addressing him as such to test his commitment issues.

- one time when they were very little, misto got very exhausted and due to reasons outside of his control, was forced to leave the girls with mungojerrie and rumpleteaser (man I gotta draw them. my favs. The characters ever.) for like a few hours. lucky for him, the two are terrified of magicians like him and the girls ended up being more chaotic than the two petty thieves combined.

- the first time etcetera called misto dad his face lit up like crazy and he didn't stop talking about for a week.

- the first time misto had ever scratched or bite a human since he was a kitten was when a human he really really didn't like trust tried to adopt etcetera. it actually took few months for the two to get adopted mainly because of misto's distrust.

@corico-mile As Jenny so on character. Caring if a little fussy. But as Alonzo, oh boy. We have had some real heartwarming sibling moments. Mistos been through it man and he has added some much needed sweetness and comfort. And the Cow thread with Mackenzie not only adorable but he was so patient with him.

@mistoffeleeskinnie Hot damn can this dude not only cosplay but RP! So first I want to point out the reason I originally followed was that flawless Misto cosplay. Its gorgeous, I could never. Now for the writing... Having two wildly different characters and keeping their characteristics separate while bouncing between them is a SKILL. Pounce is an adorable bean who you can't help but love and want to protect. (and stop from eating various non edible items). Jerrie is just incredibly done. Funny and sweet, when he isn't hypnotised by Macavity. He's just written so canon. Outwardly being all cool but is actually a sweetheart.

@baconandbuscuits so so so creative! The plots, the back stories, the headcanons. *chefs kiss*. The depth given to Cettie beyond squealing fangirl and adorable baby is so good. And let's talk about those OCs. Wow. They are some of the most creative if intense OCs I've seen. I should say it more, but I adore Eris. I miss her. The Tugger bullying had me in tears, it was hilarious.

And the big daddy of them all (I don't actually call her that) @munkthehunk We've spent nearly a decade rping together now, and its great to have someone who is so in sync with you, you can not only bounce off the most intense ideas off them, they make it worse (in the best way). For someone who is actually Tugger IRL, she does a spectacular Munk and Macavity. Having a Macavity that can be both hilarious and terrifying is amazing. An extremely adorable Teazer who you just cannot be mad at I mean look at her. Cute supportive train dad in Skimble, mindless sweetheart in Cori, kind older sister who takes no BS in Bomba. You need a specific character for something she had it and she plays it flawlessly. Creating the kittens was such an easy process too with her and I love them ALL. She plays Jellibean in the most adorable way I just can't. I feel you can always tell when I'm writing for her it just doesn't come out as good?

But of course I would say this, I do kinda have a crush on her. Omg.

@bombas-wife : There has been some of the most interesting threads as well as the sweetest! An excellent godparent for the kittens. I love Tim becoming friends with adult cryptids who teach him and help him and honestly it leads to some of the most heartwarming threads. Baby cryptid learns to make fire 🥺

@falasta Maia is adorable. I love her, so much I couldn't not draw her. I love that she can also stand up for herself. I am so excited to see how this character develops. And as a writer, she just slips into threads and writes so flawlessly its like she's always been there.

@linadoonofficial Your lil Quax is.... I love him and I will die for him. The relationship he has with Victoria is beautiful and I love working on it. True, I MAY be a tiiiiny bit biased here but this is a Misto I could never. I was odd for me to be on this side of a Misto rp, and to remember nobody knows hes magic but when you get into the swing of it, its so easy to rp with him. Its not fair that he can both draw so beautifully but RP like that too?? C'mon.

@whitmerule Why are you so perfect at Rping? How do you balance all of these very different characters and never once do anything that could be considered out of character for them? Its so hard to pick a favourite, because they're all so wonderful in their own ways and extremely fun to work with.

Misto HCs

- Misto is the kind of cat who doesn’t get mad or upset easily, at least on the surface level. He definitely gets mad and upset but to actually see him express that, or really any other emotions, for real is like a whole nother level.

- He really enjoys having a lot of time to himself. He’ll disappear for hours or days at a time and will show back up randomly whenever he feels like it and just like…. Not say anything about the fact that he was gone

- oh and hes like silly little friends with Skimbleshanks but like girl besties 💋 with Mungojerrie

Skimbleshanks HCs

- Skimble likes to hang around and take care of some of the younger cats cause they make him feel younger. He keeps up with them as best he can, but when he finally decides he’s too tired to continue to play he’ll curl up in a nice shaded spot in the junkyard and nap, usually he’ll wake up surrounded by a couple of passed out kittens.

- He’s very straightforward with how he speaks to people, if he’s thinking about something you’ll probably know tbh. I like to think he’s a man who like,,,, can’t shut up, unless its like a very serious situation.

- Mungojerrie spends a decent amount of time with him, like obv he’s his dad they’re bound to spend sometime together but Skimble is a comforting presence to Jerrie when he gets lost up in his own head, and Skimble is willing to sit with him for however long he needs, no talking required.

I like these 2 cats a lot lol

Black&White Family 1 and the Scarlet&Gold Sisters

24 hours later and I’m back with Part 2 of my little headcanon series (masterpost here!). Like before, all hcs in this series will be pre-canon, if we accept the musical as the present day canon. Thus I present my take on the backstory of Alonzo, Victoria and Mistoffelees, and some more on Bombalurina and Demeter (with a sprinkle of Demestrap and Skimbleshanks the Railway Dad).

Mistoffelees’ half brother and sister are Jellicles, Alonzo and Victoria. Misto is the result of their shared father’s affair, but said father keeps him separate from his half siblings, who don’t even know he exists until their father reveals it to them on his deathbed. Misto keeps his distance from them, as their mother hates him and his mother on principle and he fears they will too.

But then Misto’s mother dies not long after his father, and he tries to approach them. However, Alonzo still feels very hurt and angry at their father’s betrayal of his family, and isn’t ready to see Misto/can’t bring himself to look at the living proof of it (he doesn’t know that doing so leaves Misto completely alone); their mother attacks him and he runs away. Macavity finds the scared, hurt and alone Misto and convinces him to join him, promising safety and family, but soon traps him along with Demeter and Bomba, and violently and painfully drains his magic from him. The three of them bond in captivity and come to trust each other completely. Bomba’s big-sister mode has been activated for a while, and she very quickly takes Misto under her protective wing as well. They watch over each other as best they can, caring for wounds and trying to keep each other’s spirits up. Eventually they manage to escape via a combination of Demeter’s wits, Bomba’s fighting skills and Misto’s magic. They flee to the Junkyard together and are swiftly brought under the protection of the Jellicles.

Both Mistoffelees and Demeter are extremely skittish and jumpy for a while from Macavity’s treatment. They stick together for the first couple of nights, and even after that if one of them feels scared or alone they’re always welcome in Bomba’s den, which becomes something like their safe space. Demeter finds comfort with Munkustrap, who is more in love with her than ever and finally able to tell her (they perform the mating pas-de-deux at the next ball which happens soon after she returns). She soon finds out she is pregnant with Jemima. Although they can’t be sure of who the real father is, Munkustrap is dad of the century and claims it doesn’t matter, that he’d be honoured to do the job. Munk helps her gain more confidence and become more sure of herself again.

Misto is taken in by (pre-Skimblegus although not by much) Skimbleshanks, but struggles to trust or even speak to anyone else except Bomba and Dem for a long time. He even fears Alonzo and Victoria, thinking they must hate him after how their mother treated him, and spends a lot of time hiding and watching from a safe distance. Skimbleshanks the super dad is really good with him and despite everything Misto can’t help but trust him: he always makes sure to give Misto his space and seems to be able to sense when he’s getting overwhelmed or just doesn’t want to talk; he’s patient, kind and supportive, and just seems to understand him really well. As a result Skimble is the first Jellicle Misto trusts, and later on if he ever needs advice he always turns to Skimble. Due to Skimble’s closeness to Asparagus he forms a tentative friendship with Tumblebrutus (Asparagus’ son), but doesn’t really start to come out of his shell until Tugger meets him for the first time and immediately takes a shine to him.

Christmas Spirit

Intro: Hello, lovelies!! I hope you guys are having a good start to your Christmas week!! This one was requested and I didn’t completely do the whole request, but! I hope you guys enjoy it nonetheless!! :)

Note: Y/N is the daughter of Santa Claus, no one knows, not even her girlfriend Tori, when the Christmas spirit starts to go down, what will Y/N do to help that?

*I knew this seem strange but Christmas in a few weeks so why not get into the Christmas spirit?* would you do tori x reader where y/n is the daughter of Santa *family business and her friends don’t know* like she’s trying keep people *who are poor* Christmas spirit up by having volunteer at soup kitchen but fail. Tori feels sympathy and hates seeing the look of heartbreak on y/n and wants to help her gf Plus mistoe kiss *y/n tells her secret* @perfectartisanwerewolf

This time of the year was your favorite, not just because of being able to go all out in decorating, but the fact you get to see your father do his job best, him in his suit and flying around in his sleigh, delivering all the presents to the good little girls and boys in the world… Did you mention your father was Santa Claus? The only thing that worried you was his cookie eating problem, which you and your mother scolded him for time and time again “They’re the ones that leave it out! I can’t help myself” he’d say every time you guys confronted him, which made you more worried since his health was starting to weigh him down, but this year you were determined to help him as much as you possibly could.

“Yes dad, Tori and I are doing okay” you told your father, him having called you to check up on you and you and Tori having been dating for a little over a year now, but this was the first Christmas you two would be living together “Are you okay? You sound sick” you said, noticing how he sounded a bit raspier than usual “I’m fine… The Christmas spirit is just a little low this year” Your father told you, making you frown as you opened up your tablet and pulled up the spirit-o-meter you had on it, seeing that the Christmas spirit was at an all time low this year “It’s probably because of the pandemic” you said, knowing that a lot of people were affected by it “I’ll see what I can do, okay? I have to go, Tori should be home soon, I love you” you said, smiling when he returned it before you hung up.

As you hung up, you heard the front door open and Tori’s muffled voice “Y/N, I’m home!” She called before pulling her mask off and putting it in her jacket pocket before she hung it up “In the kitchen!” You called, looking over when you heard her enter the kitchen “Whatcha making?” She asked, coming over to you and wrapping her arms around you from behind “Cookies” you said, stirring up the batter “You’re as bad as your dad” she teased, her having met your parents at the fourth of July party you guys had “Am not!” You screeched, looking at her and laughing at the look she gave you “Okay, maybe I do have a sweet tooth, sue me” you chuckled, going and spraying the pan.

After a bit, you had gotten so lost in thought, you didn’t hear Tori asking you questions “Sorry, what?” You asked, looking at her and seeing her furrow her brow “Are you okay?” She asked, going over to you as you put the cookies in the oven “I’m fine… Dad’s not feeling too well, I’m trying to think of what I can do to help” you said, her not knowing your father was Santa Claus… No one did “Well, we could bring them some soup?” Tori suggested, looking at you and you shook your head “I think my mother has that all handled” you chuckled, knowing your mother could be very motherly when it came to family being sick “Tomorrow I’m going to go volunteer at the soup kitchen, want to join me?” You asked, looking at her and wrapping your arms around her neck while hers wrapped around your waist “I wish I could, but I have work… I’ll drop by though” she promised, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips while you sighed, you’ll take what you can get.

The next day, you showed up at the soup kitchen in your very festive Christmas mask, going and speaking with someone, who got you set up at the cooking station… Which you failed at, so they moved you to the food line, you trying to make people a little more happy by be a little more cheery, but that didn’t work either and by the time Tori showed up, the sad look on your face was the worst she’s seen it, feeling bad for you, she came over to you and took your hand, tugging you over to the side.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Tori asked, cupping your face gently and wiping some tears with her thumbs “I just wanted people to be happy this Christmas, I know having the pandemic sucks, but I just want people to be happy that they get to be with their loved ones and that they have so much going for them, even in this tough time” you cried, your voice muffled by the mask and Tori frowned under her mask before she pulled you to her, holding you as you cried and waited until you calmed down before she pulled back “Come on, lets go spread some holiday cheer” she said, nodding towards the line and you looked at her with wide eyes “But, you have work” you said, looking at her and knowing that her lunch break wasn’t that long.

Tori looked at you and gave you a smile, you able to tell from her eyes “I do, but making you happy is what’s important to me right now, so come on” she said, taking your hand and leading you over to the line, the two of you working together to make people happier and it worked, people laughed more and conversed with you more, on the quick break you took, you took the time to check the tablet once more, seeing the Christmas spirit going up again which made you extremely happy.

After a few hours, the two of you came back home and collapsed onto the couch after taking your masks off “I love you” you told her, looking at her with a smile “I love you too” she said, pressing a kiss to your nose, you sighing when your phone went off, but you got up and went to answer it “Hey dad, how are you?” You asked, walking around some as you talked to him, him telling you that he was feeling much better now that the Christmas spirit was back up “That’s great, I’m glad you’re feeling better… You and mom still coming for dinner tomorrow?” You asked, leaning against the doorframe to the laundry room and not noticing a certain plant hanging on the top of the frame “Good, we’ll see you then” you said, smiling some before you told him that you loved him and hung up.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” You asked, looking at Tori who approached you with a smug smile and following where her finger was pointed just as she stepped under the mistletoe with you “Gotta follow the rules, you know” she said, giving you a smile which you couldn’t help but return before you pulled her into a kiss, you loved this woman and one day you’d tell her your family secret, and while today was not that day, you would enjoy it just the same, this Christmas was going to be one to remember.
